Sami: Who is it?
Will: Will. I'm on my way to EJ's. I'd like to, you know, say hi to the kids.
Will: Hey, why-- why are you in a robe?
Will: Are you kidding me? First dad and now EJ? Oh, my God! Who's next?
Roman: Hey, Austin.
Roman: Okay. I'm guessing this is about Carrie.
Austin: That's right. I'm sorry, man. I can't take it anymore. I--I can't take Carrie being in the safe house without me. I can't--I can't do it.
Roman: Watch it, Austin. Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa. Listen to me, okay? Listen to me. She's my daughter. I miss her, too. But everybody needs to stay put until we bring Stefano down.
Austin: I don't give two damns, or two cents, about Stefano DiMera. I need to see my wife. I need you to take me to see Carrie now.
Rafe: Good morning.
Carrie: Mm. It is a good morning when you're the first thing I see.
Rafe: Oh, God.
Carrie: [Laughs] Wow.
Rafe: Sweet enough?
Carrie: Yes, you are.
Rafe: You wanna know what's sweet? Hm? Watching you sleep. I could get used to that.
Carrie: I'll make a note of that.
Rafe: Will you?
Rafe: Mm-hmm? Promise?
Rafe: Hold you to it.
Marlena: Hey. I woke up and you weren't there.
John: Yeah, I couldn't sleep. I'm researching DiMera's known associates, legitimate or otherwise.
Marlena: Any luck?
John: Not so far. But I'm not giving up.
Marlena: Good. Last night, you wanted blood.
John: Well, Doc, all I know for sure is that this is the end of DiMera, whether we put him behind bars or six feet under.
Marlena: Wouldn't that be lovely?
Shane: Billie, how's the ISA's most beautiful agent this morning?
Billie: Well, she's curious. Why the increased security?
Shane: Two reasons, actually.
Billie: And what are those?
Bo: Hey, Billie.
Billie: Bo, Hope--
Hope: You're back with the-- with the agency?
Billie: Oh, my gosh, it's so good to see you.
Bo: Yeah, you too.
Billie: Oh, I'm just-- I'm so glad that I didn't call Chelsea and Max to tell them.
Hope: Yes, yes, so are we.
Bo: We are too.
Billie: Oh, well, then all that matters is that you're all okay.
Bo: Yeah, we're in one piece.
Billie: Let's make sure that you stay that way. Shane, amped security or not, it's too big of a risk to have them here right now. If Stefano finds out that they were not killed in that explosion, it's over. He will make sure that they all die for real next time.
Lexie: Honey, you ready to go? I wanna see the Van Gogh exhibit before the museum gets too crowded.
Abe: Yeah, um, I got to go, uh, print the tickets and then we'll go. And we'll just have a wonderful day.
Lexie: I know this is hard for you. But I want the rest of our time to be special, not sad.
Abe: Yeah, I know you do. And I wanna give you that. And I know I have to learn how to accept this somehow, but... I'm not sure I can.
Lexie: Oh, honey.
Sami: We have a nosy neighbor or two, all right? Get in here.
Will: What happened to you getting back together with dad?
Will: Did you ask for an open relationship?
Sami: Oh, stop it, okay? We didn't have sex.
Will: Really? 'Cause it looks like you did.
Sami: Well, we didn't, all right? He was helping me get the kids ready for school.
EJ: We had a food fight. Cause unknown.
Sami: Yes, well, so there's a pigsty, and I wanted to clean it up before I got dressed.
EJ: Not that it's any of your business, William, but I was just about to head back to my apartment to get a clean shirt.
Will: Okay, my bad.
Sami: I'm gonna get dressed. Excuse me.
EJ: So what do you have to say for yourself?
Will: Okay, you know what? Maybe you guys aren't doing the, uh--the deed, but I think you living right across the hall is a little too cozy.
EJ: William, I just moved across the hall to be close to my children.
Will: Really? What does my dad think about you, um, spending so much time with his daughter?
EJ: Um, I don't know. Maybe you should ask him. I don't care how much time he spends with Allie.
Will: Allie or my mom.
EJ: [Chuckles] Why do I get the impression that there's a point somewhere you're trying to make?
Will: Oh, very perceptive. Um, what I'm trying to say is, if my dad and my mom are getting back together, that just makes you the lonely ex living in the building. I'm just not sure that's a role that you can play.
Austin: Roman, yesterday... I thought Carrie was dead. Okay? I mourned her like a son of a bitch. And I realized I love her more than I ever even knew. And Carrie needs to know that. She needs to know how committed I am to our marriage. Do you understand? Do you understand what I'm telling you?
Roman: I do understand that. And I will tell her that.
Austin: I need to tell her that, Roman. I've got to tell her that once you take me to see her. Please.
Roman: I'm sorry, Austin. That's not gonna happen.
Carrie: [Exhales] I thought that I was used to all life's twists and turns, but...
Carrie: I also never imagined this.
Rafe: Me neither. I mean, we're both, uh--
Carrie: Married, and in love.
Rafe: [Laughs] Here we are.
Carrie: Here we are.
Rafe: Alone, finally.
Carrie: Together. Mm, ah.
Rafe: Oh God.
Carrie: Put that down.
Rafe: You went crazy. [Laughter]
Rafe: Oh, Carrie.
Carrie: Oh, my God. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, it's too soon. It's too soon.
Bo: We'll be okay. The agency's taking good care of us.
Hope: So, uh, when did you come out of retirement?
Billie: Right before I came back to Salem. My cover was working with my mom at Countess W. Before it went south with her and Stefano, I was living at the mansion, looking for inside Intel.
Shane: We're hoping to use what Billie found to connect the dots, and help you guys, the-- the living dead, nail Stefano before he finds out you're alive.
Billie: I just wish I had more.
Shane: Oh, I--I think you're on to something.
Bo: Well, that's good. Let's hear it.
Hope: What you got?
Marlena: Uh, careful.
John: I'm sorry if what I said last night shook your confidence in what we're trying to do here.
Marlena: No, it's okay. But if history's any indication--
John: It won't be. We have the upper hand as long as DiMera thinks we're dead. His guard is down. He'll make his move, and we'll pounce.
Marlena: What if he decides to lay low since he's being blamed for what happened to us?
John: Well, if he doesn't do himself in, then we'll just have to revisit the final option. If that's what it's gonna take to get rid of him, I will gladly pull the trigger myself.
Abe: [Sighs] All right, uh... [Chuckles] I'm supposed to be supporting you, not, uh--the other way--
Lexie: Okay, stop, stop, stop. I am your wife. I'm here to support you, too. Okay?
Abe: I do love you. I love you. Mmm, so much.
Lexie: I love you, too.
Abe: Okay, all right, enough wallowing.
Lexie: Oh, is that what that was?
Abe: We've got a Van Gogh exhibit to go see, so I'm gonna go print those tickets.
Lexie: Okay, honey. Hm. [Crying]
Austin: I don't understand, man. I don't understand. Roman, you're my father-in-law. You're my father-in-law. Why won't you take me to see Carrie?
Roman: Because we tempted fate once and that was one too many times. Besides, the ISA has taken over the operation. I'm not calling the shots anymore.
Austin: Okay, you're not calling the shots anymore, but I know you have influence. You still have influence, don't you? Can't you please just ask them? Just ask them, Roman, to get me in. That's all I'm asking. [Sighs] You want cards on the table?
Austin: She's in there with Rafe, man. Yesterday, when I found out she was alive, I was so happy. I wasn't thinking clearly. Today, I am. Do understand why this is important?
Roman: I'll see what I can do.
Austin: Thank you, Roman. Thank you, man. I swear to god to you, Carrie is gonna thank you, too. Thank you.
Roman: All right.
Rafe: Yeah. I guess we got a little carried away.
Carrie: I'm sorry.
Rafe: No, no, no, no. No, don't be. You're absolutely right. We should not be doing this. At least not till Austin knows the truth. It's not fair.
Carrie: I can't wait to get out of here.
Rafe: Ah, that makes two of us.
Carrie: I just-- I couldn't tell him in front of everyone. Not after everything he just went through.
Rafe: No, I know. I get it.
Carrie: But the first chance I get, when I see him, I am going to tell him the truth.
Carrie: Mm-hmm. I want you, Rafe. You.
Billie: What did I find at Stefano's? A bill of sale for arms and weapons.
Hope: You gotta be kidding me.
Shane: Oh, Stefano DiMera, arms dealer? That was nowhere on the agency's radar.
Hope: No, what surprises me is that Stefano left a paper trail.
Billie: I know. That surprised me, too. That's why I thought EJ was involved.
Hope: But you don't anymore?
Billie: No. After talking with EJ, he is clueless about Stefano and his dealings.
Hope: Which dealings?
Billie: Well, it seems that Stefano stole the money that EJ stole out of John's pension fund, and he used part of it to buy the arms.
Hope: Are you saying that EJ's the one who set John up?
Billie: And in true DiMera fashion, Stefano double-crossed his own son.
EJ: I can assure you, I don't have any designs on your mother.
Will: Well, that's what you say, but somehow you guys end up together. History repeats itself, usually when one or both of you are involved with somebody else.
EJ: Okay. I can understand why you'd be skeptical. I can. But I moved in across the hall just to be close to Johnny and Sydney.
Will: [Scoffs] Right.
EJ: William, do I think your mother and father getting back together is a disaster waiting to happen? Yes, I do. Do I think it's too soon? Do I think it's a mistake? Yes, I do. But that's just my opinion.
Will: Mine too.
EJ: Look, will you do me a favor, okay? I know you're concerned about your mother. Just cut her a little bit of slack. William, she just lost six people who she was very, very close to.
Will: Yeah, so did I.
EJ: I know. I know, and I'm sorry.
Will: Why, thank you. But, honestly, my mom doesn't care. She was mean and nasty to everybody who died.
EJ: Yeah, I'm sure she regrets it.
Will: Oh, yeah, I mean, I felt sorry for her until she opened her mouth. Then I got over it.
EJ: Right, well... on that dysfunctional note, I will be leaving. Do me a favor, please. Have Samantha say good-bye to the children for me.
Sami: Where did EJ go?
Will: To get a shirt on.
Sami: Thank you for telling me.
Will: Hey, look, uh-- I'm sorry for what I said, but, you know, I feel like if anybody saw that--you know, how you looked and everything, they would assume.
Sami: Yeah. I understand. Look, I realize that things are never gonna be...the same. But, um-- hey, if you have time later, maybe we could talk.
Will: Later, later, later? I think later I am going to, uh, go to the safe house to see grandma.
Sami: So you can talk to her about what?
Will: About stuff.
Sami: You know, you could try talking to me.
Will: [Laughs] No offense, Mom, you're the last person I'd go to for advice.
Marlena: You know, a few weeks ago, I was ready to kill him myself.
John: I remember.
Marlena: And then you reminded me that if I did, Stefano would win. So I couldn't. And I didn't follow through. Because I couldn't let that happen.
John: DiMera really tried to kill us this time, Doc. Don't you see? He's through with toying with us, with just trying to make our lives a living hell. He is determined to see us dead.
John: We can't take our lives back until he's gone. And if the agency can't do it, by God, I will.
Bo: Wow, yeah. So, it was EJ who embezzled billions from Basic Black?
Billie: Only to have Stefano steal it all away from him.
Hope: It makes perfect sense.
Hope: EJ used John's arrest and conviction as a wedge issue to win the election.
Bo: I'm thinking there's a bit of tension between father and son right about now.
Billie: Yeah, if only-- if we could just find a way to split EJ away from Stefano.
Shane: Uh-huh. What?
Bo: Uh, I think we have that way.
Shane: Well, how?
Hope: You said you've been dropping hints about Stefano helping John's team on his freedom?
Billie: Yes, lots.
Hope: Well, what if you just told EJ the truth? That after everything he did to ruin John, it was Stefano, his own father, who betrayed him... to save John.
Sami: I can give good advice.
Will: No, you can't.
Sami: I could try.
Will: No, come on. Let's not do it. Let's not do this.
Sami: Come on, I can be a better mother to you.
Will: Oh, shoot. Oh, look at the time, it's, uh-- well, it's too late for that.
Sami: Will, stop-- stop it, please. I am your mother. I will always be your mother. And I don't care what you say, or how you treat me, I will always love you. And I'm just asking for you to give me a chance.
EJ: You know, William, your mother is right.
Will: That's something you don't hear every day.
EJ: You just lost your grandmother. I think it's about time you gave your relationship with your mother a fresh start, especially as your grandmother devoted her life to helping people heal.
Sami: Um, I think I'd like to try that, Will, if you would.
Will: Yeah, I'll think about it.
EJ: Good. Now I'll go and see if I can solve the crisis between North and South Korea. In the meantime, William, we have some business to attend to.
Sami: What kind of business?
EJ: None of your business.
Sami: Really? I just wanna make sure you don't get him in trouble.
Will: Really? Mom, this is why we can't even talk about the weather, you kn--
Sami: It's a legitimate question.
Will: A legitimate question? You work for Stefano, the man who we pretty much know murdered six of the people we love.
Sami: I am working independently, okay? I am running that company by myself.
Will: Oh, really? Countess W? That could be a front for-- for drug running, for money laundering. You know what? Give me a call from jail. I'll--I'll be nice. I'll pay for the charges.
Sami: You work with EJ, and you're the one who's gonna end up in prison, Will.
Will: EJ's not gonna put me in prison. He's the one who kept me out.
Abe: Are you ready to go?
Lexie: No. Nope, nope. There's a problem with these pictures.
Abe: Like what? I don't understand.
Lexie: I didn't have a-- well, I didn't have a family photo album growing up. But Theo deserves more than just a--a jumble of prints tossed inside a box, you know? He deserves to know who his family is, and how we lived our lives.
Abe: You can't be afraid that he'd forget you.
Lexie: No. Yeah, I--
Abe: Aw. Oh, honey, come on. Come on.
Lexie: He's my little boy, Abe. One day soon, I'm not gonna be here for him.
Abe: Hey, you don't think that I would ever let him forget you.
Lexie: I just want him to always be able to see me. You know, to just know that I'm always close by. Look, I'm sorry, but Van Gogh can wait. Theo can't. I--I wanna-- I wanna make a photo album of these pictures. Now.
Abe: Well, sure, yeah. Whatever you want.
Lexie: Thanks, honey. Thanks for understanding.
Abe: Yeah, well, you know, as long as you understand that Theo will always, always remember you in his heart.
Carrie: The thought of ending things with Austin makes me sick to my stomach. I hate the idea of hurting him.
Rafe: I know. I know you do.
Carrie: I mean, he thinks we're still together, and stronger for being apart. This, us, it will blindside him.
Rafe: You're having second thoughts.
Carrie: No. No, I'm not.
Rafe: Yes, Carrie.
Carrie: I'm not. I just--I don't like feeling like the bad guy. Growing up--
Rafe: Listen, listen. Telling Austin won't be easy. Delivering bad news never is.
Carrie: This may sound strange, but I'm actually glad that we're stuck here.
Carrie: It will give me the time to find the words to tell Austin that our marriage is finally over.
Roman: Hey, man. All right, all right.
Austin: When can I see my wife?
Roman: Take it easy, okay? Look, I talked to the agency. They refused at first. I made it personal. They relented.
Austin: [Sighs] Roman, thank you, man.
Austin: Can we go?
Roman: Let's go. Let's go.
EJ: Are you sure you want to get into this, William?
Sami: What? What is going on?
Will: EJ could have sent me to prison, but he didn't.
Sami: What did you do?
Will: Well, I shot him at his wedding to you, Mom. Dad didn't shoot him. I shot him.
Sami: Well--I-- I don't understand. You--you didn't shoot him. You couldn't have shot him. You were still a kid.
Will: It was the only way I knew how to protect you and dad.
Sami: You tried to protect us by trying to murder someone?
Will: You tried to murder him, too. And yeah, I probably should have just left it alone, because you guys ended up breaking up anyway.
Sami: So--so Lucas went to prison. Your father went to prison, served hard time, for-- for a crime you committed?
Will: Yes. He insisted.
Sami: Oh, my--oh, my God.
Will: That's the reason why I went to Switzerland to live with Austin and Carrie.
Sami: And you knew. EJ, you knew he had done it? You knew that Lucas was innocent?
EJ: Samantha, what would you have me do? Send the kid to a lifetime in prison?
Sami: Look, Will, you have to understand that he didn't do any of that to actually help you. EJ had his own motives for everything that he did.
EJ: Okay, listen, Samantha, look. We all make mistakes, right? So don't fume. Our little opera turned out fine. Lucas survived. I've survived, just about. And William and I now have this wonderful working relationship. Don't we, William?
Sami: That's what I don't get. I still don't get how could you want to work for someone who-- who you were willing to shoot?
Will: To get even with someone who I hated more.
Sami: You went to EJ? You confronted him with the fact that you knew we had slept together.
EJ: William threatened to tell Nicole about our little indiscretion.
Sami: So you blackmailed him into working for you?
EJ: Samantha, your son tried to blackmail me. I just responded in kind.
Lexie: Honey, um-- okay, look, I know-- I know it's gonna be hard for you, but would you please promise me that you'll make time for Theo spend time with EJ?
Lexie: He's his uncle. He loves him.
Abe: Yeah, I really have to promise, huh?
Lexie: Mm-hmm. So I won't worry.
Abe: Oh, so you won't worry. All right, yeah, for you and Theo, I'll do it.
Lexie: That's for when you do.
Abe: I'm glad we did this, you know?
Abe: It's gonna be good for Theo to have all these pictures to remember you by. And I will have these captions... in your handwriting... with your memories... and your words.
Lexie: And all my love, right here. Always.
Billie: It's Billie. We need to talk.
EJ: Do we?
Billie: Yes. I've learned something that you need to know.
EJ: [Clears throat] Do tell.
Billie: Meet me at the Town Square, alone.
EJ: All right, well, this was lovely. I'm heading out. William, I will text you your duties for the rest of the day.
Sami: You leave my son alone. EJ, you hear me? Stay away from him.
Billie: I guarantee EJ's on his way. Now I just have to give him the bait and see if he bites.
Hope: Good luck.
Shane: Keep us posted.
Billie: I will.
Bo: This just might work.
Will: Okay, relax.
Sami: No, no.
Will: Seriously, relax.
Sami: No, I can't relax. How dare he blackmail you?
Will: I blackmailed him first. And how many people have you blackmailed, by the way?
Sami: The point is that now that it's all out in the open, you don't have to work for him anymore, right?
Will: I wanna work for him, Mom. What--what are you trying to do? It's too late for you to come to my rescue.
Sami: Wait a second, no. All right, look. When we thought that my mom, and Carrie, and everybody was gone, you and I had a moment. And it is the only thing that kept me from losing my mind.
Will: No, I think you lost your mind anyway.
Sami: I want what is best for you.
Will: No, you don't. [Laughs] And even if you did, I mean, whoa, great. Because working for EJ is honestly the best thing that's ever happened to me. So, no, I'm not about to quit.
Lexie: So, you ready to go to the museum?
Abe: Yeah, it sounds like a plan.
Lexie: Yeah, uh, Theo should be out hiking for quite a while with Cameron, so we can take our time. I'll get my purse.
Lexie: You ready?
Abe: Oh, yeah, uh, all right. I'll go get the car, huh?
Abe: Oh, yeah?
Marlena: John, for the sake of everybody we know and love, don't turn this into a vendetta.
John: It's too late. When we were in Alamainia, you know that I was forced to watch you on a monitor when one of DiMera's goons came this close to killing you. Do you know how helpless I felt? Do you know how angry I was that he could use you that way to get to me?
Marlena: I despise him, too, with every breath I take. But, try as he might, for as long as he has, we're still here. And we are still together. Don't let him change that.
John: Never. It's just like I said. One way or another, DiMera's going down. The agency, Salem P.D. may get him. One of his people may turn on him, or he may have an unfortunate accident. Whatever it is, whenever it is, it's the end of the line for Stefano DiMera.
Rafe: I have no doubt that you will find the right way to tell Austin. Yes?
Carrie: He won't understand.
Rafe: No, maybe not at first, but he will. And you'll have been true to your heart.
Carrie: I know. I just feel so guilty.
Rafe: Yeah. Well, Austin wants you to be happy. And you want him to be happy. Yes? It'll all work out.
Carrie: Thank you.
Roman: Ah, watch your step. All right, all right. We're here. You can take your blindfold off.
Roman: I'm sorry for all the security checks, but the stakes couldn't be higher.
Austin: It's fine, Roman. I'll walk through hell to be with my wife again.
Shane: Let's just hope Billie can turn EJ against Stefano.
Bo: Their relationship has been tested before.
Hope: Yeah, but maybe once EJ knows the truth, knows that his father has betrayed him, he'll turn on Stefano, and give us what we need to put that son of a bitch away.
EJ: So, Billie... what's the emergency?
Billie: I was just wondering if you had learned anything about how John Black was freed from jail.
EJ: Why would that matter to you?
Billie: Because I do know. Oh, don't worry. It's just us. And I'm not wearing a wire.
EJ: [Scoffs] Why would you be wearing a wire?
Billie: Because you're guilty of a crime. You framed John Black. You stole his pension money to help get yourself elected mayor.
EJ: Is that right?
Billie: Mm-hmm. That part of your plan worked. But, of course, we know that after all the trouble you went to, that stolen money is missing. And he's free.
EJ: Okay, why don't you get to the point that you've dragged me down here to make?
Billie: Well, like I said before, I know who made it possible to get John freed. Oh, come on. Don't you wanna take a little guess? [Chuckles] Just a little teeny guess? Stefano. Your own father betrayed you to help his sworn enemy.
Sami: You actually like working for EJ?
Will: I love it.
Sami: Oh, God, I want you to quit. I just--that's all I want.
Will: I don't care what you want. It's an amazing job. I have a--I have a car. I have an apartment. He pays really well.
Sami: You know, you're not gonna need money when you end up in prison, or dead in a back alley somewhere.
Will: Oh, my God, give me a break, seriously. It's my dream job, Mom. I love the perks. I love the power.
Sami: Oh, my God. You don't sound at all like the son I knew.
Will: Oh, really? This is who I am. I'd think you'd be proud.
Will: I am who I am because of you. Look at me. My mother's son.
