Hope: That's it, Brady. Look at me. I'm here. I'm here, baby. Hey. Hi. No, no, no. No, don't try to talk. It's okay. It's okay. It's all right. You've been asleep for a while. You need to save your strength. I've missed you so much. It's so good to see you, Brady. Bo? No, no, no, Bo, stay with me. Bo, please. Bo? Bo, open your eyes. Open your eyes.
Marlena: You waited.
John: Didn't think I would?
Marlena: Well, I wasn't really sure.
John: We need to talk, Doc. A call from one of your patients isn't gonna change that.
Marlena: You know how I feel about you being with the I.S.A. I'm not sure what else there is to talk about.
EJ: A brain tumor?
EJ: You look fine.
EJ: I mean, you look wonderful. I'm assuming we caught it early enough...Lexie. I mean, this is just a matter of time and treatment.
Abe: It's not as easy as all that.
EJ: I wasn't talking to you.
Abe: You son of a--
Lexie: Wait, wait, wait. We didn't-- we didn't catch this-- this early. It's not something that's just going to go away.
EJ: What are you trying to tell me?
Kate: Open up! Sami, I know you're in there. Don't hide from me.
Sami: Hiding? Are you kidding me? I've been waiting for this-- I guess you want to come in.
Kate: No, I want to tear your head off, you little bitch!
Hope: Brady, don't do this. Come back to me, Bo. Open your eyes. Damn it, Brady, don't do this. Just-- just open your eyes. Be right back. Right back, you hear me? Daniel? Daniel!
Daniel: Yeah. What is it?
Hope: Bo. Come here. Come with me.
Kate: You little thief, I could shove these down your throat!
Sami: I'd like to see you try.
Kate: I should have just put you behind bars when I had the chance, Sami.
Sami: It's too late for that now, isn't it, Kate?
Kate: God, I despise you!
Lucas: Mom! Mom! Wait! Mom, stop it! What are you doing? What the hell's the matter with you?
Sami: She's a little mad at me. Do you want to tell him why, or should I?
Kate: Drop dead.
Sami: It's a wonder you didn't wake up the kids, Kate.
Lucas: You know, I can see she's mad at you. What I want to know is why.
Sami: She, um, has lost control of the one thing that she loves more than anything-- her company. Of course, it's not hers anymore. I get to run it as I like.
Kate: You're never gonna--
Lucas: What are you-- Countess Wilhelmina?
Kate: Never, ever gonna get away with it.
Sami: There's nothing to get away with. It's mine, Kate. And as my first decision as CEO, you're fired.
Kate: You think you're Donald Trump. Then you enjoy this little bit of power...because I promise you you will never run my company.
Sami: Which part of this don't you understand, Kate? Countess Wilhelmina isn't yours anymore, and it never will be again.
Lucas: Wait--wait a minute. I don't understand what's going on here.
Lucas: Even if someone could buy your company and pull it out from under you, it's not gonna be Sami. Come on, she can't afford it.
Sami: Yeah, well, I didn't buy it. It was a gift.
Lucas: Nobody just gives somebody a company, come on.
Sami: I don't own it. I just get to run it.
Lucas: Says who, huh?
Sami: Stefano. Shockingly generous of him, but who am I to say no?
Lucas: Can he really do that?
Sami: He can. And he has.
Lucas: Well, what happened? What went on between you two? And why would you even say yes? You know there's gotta be strings attached to this.
Kate: Hopefully around her neck.
Lucas: You know what, please, stop it. How could you trust Stefano? What are you thinking? What's the matter with you?
Sami: Look, I will figure out how to handle Stefano. But for the time being, he made it clear that he wants me to run this company. He says he trusts me to do what the "old regime" couldn't.
Kate: All you're going to do is run that company into the gutter, like you do with everything else.
Sami: Well, that would be like handing it back to you, Kate. And I know that's the last thing Stefano wants.
Lucas: Whoa, whoa, whoa, that's enough. That's enough, all right? Knock it off. Knock it off, both of you!
Sami: Are you kidding me, Lucas? I have been waiting for this moment for more than half my life. I am just getting started.
John: It's very clear to me that you're not happy with the decision I have made to go back undercover with the I.S.A.
Marlena: Not just that. You never told me about it.
John: Well, I'm sorry about that, but, Doc, you can't just shut it down and say we're not gonna talk about it.
Marlena: What is there to say? You know how I feel about it. That's most likely why you didn't tell me.
John: Well, that's one reason.
Marlena: Please don't say it's because you're protecting me.
John: Even if it's the truth? I don't like keeping things from you, Doc.
Marlena: For the record, I like it even less.
John: [Sighs] Come on, look at me. Sweetheart, please look at me. I love you. You know that. You mean everything to me. In fact, I wouldn't be stand-- I wouldn't even be walking again if it weren't for you.
Marlena: And your director with the I.S.A. is thrilled too.
John: But they're not the ones you're really angry with right now, I am.
Marlena: Yes, that's true, I am. Because I don't want to be a spy's wife.
John: My involvement with the I.S.A. will not affect you in any way, shape, or form. I can promise you that.
Marlena: How can you possibly promise me that?
Lexie: Given the tumor's location, it's inoperable. At least by traditional methods.
EJ: How could you let this happen? Huh? You're her husband! You're supposed to be looking out for her. How could you not see what was happening?
Lexie: No, EJ, don't. No.
EJ: No, I'm sorry--
Abe: I was in jail. I was separated from my family for a crime I didn't commit. Maybe if I'd been here, I could have done something.
Lexie: Please, please, please, please, please! This is not Abe's fault, EJ. You will not blame him for this, do you understand?
EJ: Okay. I'm sorry. Maybe there's something I can do to help.
Lexie: What-- what? What are you doing?
EJ: No, I know a lot of people, okay? I know doctors, I know specialists all over the world. Someone somewhere knows how to fix this, and I'm gonna make them.
Lexie: He's just-- he's just upset, okay? Okay, EJ... honey, no. No.
EJ: What are you doing?
Lexie: No. No.
Lexie: No, Abe and I have already made all the calls that need to be made, EJ.
EJ: I know a lot of people.
Lexie: And I know a lot about medicine. There's not a call that you can make, that either of us can make, that will change my diagnosis.
EJ: Lexie, I'm very well connected. I'm a very powerful man.
Lexie: Honey, no. No. No.
EJ: I'm so sorry.
Lexie: Okay, you stop. Please stop right there. I don't want you worrying about me, okay?
Lexie: I am not giving up.
Abe: We... we're not giving up.
EJ: Well, I, um... I can't think of two people better equipped to handle the situation.
Lexie: And we will, EJ. Yeah, we are going to get through this. We have each other to lean on. And we have you in our corner. I can count on you, right?
EJ: Of course you can.
Lexie: Good. You know, that helps. That helps more than you know.
EJ: I have no idea how. Come on, I mean, let's be honest, I spent most of my campaign trying to tear your husband to pieces-- destroy the career he'd spent years building. See, I wasn't blind to the sort of pressure I put on you, and now you're sick.
Lexie: Okay, but this is not your fault, EJ. You're my baby brother. You're here for me now. That's what matters to me.
EJ: You're not the one who's supposed to be comforting me.
Lexie: Yeah, well, that's what big sisters do, you know. I mean, I'm here-- oh!
EJ: Lexie, you okay?
Abe: Lex? Hey, I'm right here.
Lexie: Whew! Ahh. Yeah...I'm fine. I'm fine. I just--I just need a minute to myself, okay? I'll be right back. Okay?
Daniel: From what I can tell, there really isn't a significant change in his condition.
Hope: No, no, no. Bo, he opened his eyes, Daniel. He looked right at me. He tried to talk to-- I'm not imagining this.
Daniel: I'm not saying you are.
Hope: I was talking to him about how we met and how we fell in love, and all the wonderful adventures we've had over the years. And he could hear me. He knew I was here.
Daniel: I don't doubt that.
Hope: He came back to me. Okay, you know what, all right, maybe it was only for a moment, but the point is he did. He's ready to wake up. This induced coma you have him in, you have to pull him out of it.
Daniel: Okay, I'm not sure that's the best thing for him right now.
Hope: I am. I know you said you couldn't before, that he wasn't ready, but he's ready. I know my husband better than anyone. He's ready now.
Marlena: John, I understand what the I.S.A. means to you. It's your identity, it's a purpose. It's important.
John: So are you, Doc. And you come before all that.
Marlena: I know how you feel about me. I just thought that there were other things that would take the place of that loss. I guess I was wrong.
John: You think I'm putting my job before you? This is all about taking care of you and my family.
Marlena: I don't want to be taken care of. I keep saying that to you. I would like to be though of as your equal.
John: Uh-uh, you're not an equal. You're smarter and funnier... a lot nicer to look at.
Marlena: Yeah, there's that. Look, you led me to believe you were done with all this I.S.A. business, you were done with all the danger.
John: What, you think that's what I'm living for?
Marlena: Isn't it? The adrenaline, the excitement?
John: No. I have a responsibility to finish what I've started.
Marlena: When will it be somebody else's responsibility? When will somebody else's wife sit at home wondering if her man is coming home to her at night? Listen to me. You promised me you were done with all this. I expect you to live by your word.
Lucas: You know, there's got to be some kind of loophole here or something. Countess Wilhelmina is yours. That's your company.
Sami: Uh, not anymore it's not.
Lucas: Stefano can't just give away a company like that. You gotta talk to him, Mom. Reason with the guy.
Kate: There's not going to be any reasoning with Stefano.
Sami: No, she's right about that. Hey, if there's any consolation, there is a junior executive position available at Mad World.
Lucas: Easy. Easy.
Kate: Let me make this clear to you. I am not rolling over. I am getting a lawyer, and I'm getting my company back. And when I do, I'm gonna bury you in the process!
Sami: Good luck with that. Remember, it's Stefano we're dealing with here. He usually makes sure those contracts are pretty ironclad. He owns a majority of the company.
Lucas: He what? Is that true, Mom, he does?
Sami: Since he owns Countess Wilhelmina, he doesn't need your permission, Kate. You should have seen how happy it made him to hand the reins over to me. What did you do to make him so mad?
Sami: You know, getting on Stefano's bad side usually means you're gonna end up dead or embalmed. This is one of the best days of my life.
Lucas: Can you lay off, please? Lay off for five minutes!
Sami: I'm sorry, I can't help it. Come on, you know she's getting what she deserves.
Lucas: Mom, maybe you better go now.
Sami: But wait, no. I don't want her to go yet. I want to hear what happened with Stefano-- why you got kicked out of his kingdom. Come on, I'll make popcorn.
Kate: Do you really think I would tell you about anything that happened?
Sami: Then it's really good. Or bad. Or both.
Kate: This isn't over. The tables will turn, and when they do, you're going to be a sorry woman.
Sami: Feel free to use me as a reference.
Lucas: Tell me what's going on. I want the truth right now.
Sami: About what?
Lucas: About why you took Stefano's dumb deal, that's why.
Sami: Are you kidding me? The reason just walked out that door. Did you see that? My God!
Lucas: Sami, you could have said no. You could have said no to all this.
Sami: Why? This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me. I get to run an international corporation, and I get to stick it to your mother the way I've wanted to for my entire life! This is the best day ever!
Lucas: I can't believe you. You make it so hard to defend you sometimes.
Sami: Well, I'm not asking you to defend me, Lucas.
Lucas: Good. Then don't. I'm out of here. Good-bye.
Sami: Aw, come on, Lucas-- [Door shuts]
Daniel: In my professional opinion--
Hope: He needs to wake up, Daniel. He needs to be with me, with his family, his frie-- we can help him heal in a way that medicine can't.
Daniel: Okay, enough. Enough of the tough sell. I got it. While I do think Bo could benefit from some more time, yeah, he, uh... yeah, he has been making some improvements. Okay, we'll monitor him closely, but just listen, if I get any sign of distress-- any sign!
Hope: Of course. I want what's best for him. Are you saying you'll do it?
Daniel: I'll do it.
Abe: She's feeling better.
Abe: She'll join us in a minute.
EJ: Abraham, you and I are never going to be friends... but the woman up there is--
Abe: My wife.
EJ: Is my sister. And she's the only thing that matters.
Abe: For once we're in agreement.
EJ: Look, I meant what I said. I'll try everything that I can, and I'll cover any cost of any treatment.
Abe: Thank you. I--I know you mean it. It's appreciated.
EJ: I would like to be more than appreciated. If you need something, anything, you call me. Make sure I'm your first phone call. Look, I'm going to be there for my sister, I'm going to be there for her family. I think we should try and find a way so that our differences don't become a burden to her.
Abe: Well, I would like that too.
EJ: I'm sorry for the things I've done... and for what they may have cost you.
Abe: You asking for forgiveness?
EJ: No. I'm not doing this for my sake or for your sake, it's for her. I'm just suggesting we move past it. Okay?
Lexie: Well, well, well, this is a first.
EJ: How are you feeling?
Lexie: Um, fine. I mean, the pain's gone... for now.
EJ: Is that how it comes, mostly? It's sort of unexpected and sudden?
Lexie: Yeah, yeah, pretty much.
Abe: You know, maybe you should lie down.
Lexie: Yeah, that's a good idea.
Lexie: I'm sorry.
EJ: No, no, please. I should probably be getting going, and you should rest.
EJ: If you need anything, you call me.
Lexie: We will.
Lexie: I know. I love you too. Don't tell Father, okay?
EJ: You don't want him to know?
Lexie: No. In my own time. My own way.
EJ: Sure. Okay. Go on.
Lexie: Thanks. Bye.
John: I would never break a promise to you.
Marlena: When we came back to Salem, it was meant to be a new start. You promised me that I-- I would finally have the life that I deserve. And I think I deserve not to be worried about my husband.
John: As long as Stefano is free, I will worry about you every second of every day.
Marlena: You don't need the I.S.A.'s help with Stefano. We have fought him since the day we got together.
John: This is bigger than us now, Doc.
Marlena: Oh... what does that mean?
John: We always believed that Stefano was behind these phony embezzlement charges. But what we're working on now goes way beyond that. And if I don't figure out what it is, he's gonna take us all down.
Abe: I know it wasn't easy telling EJ.
Lexie: And EJ's just the beginning. There's my father, our friends, the people I work with at the hospital.
Abe: You don't have to think about all that right now.
Lexie: No, I don't want to waste any time, Abe.
Abe: What do you mean?
Lexie: I mean there's a lot we have to do. I mean, we have to put some sort of plan together.
Abe: Well, we already know what our plan is. We're gonna find you a treatment that works. Do what we need to do.
Lexie: We also have to be realistic. We have to make sure we're prepared.
Abe: Prepared for what?
Lexie: You know what I'm talking about, Abe. We have a son. We can't just blindly go on hoping for the best.
Abe: Why--why are you talking like this?
Lexie: Because we have to make sure that we've considered everything that can possibly happen. Even...the thing that we don't want to face.
Abe: No, no. No, now, you listen to me. I promised you that I was not gonna let you talk like--
Lexie: Like what?
Abe: Like you had already given up.
[Knock on door]
EJ: I want to see the children.
Sami: Well, they're sleeping.
EJ: Wake them.
Sami: [Chuckles] No. What's going--
EJ: Samantha, I want to see the children. Will you please just go and wake them? I'm not going to take them anywhere. Samantha, will you please just go and get those kids and bring them out here. All I want to do is hold them and tell them that I love them. That's it. Please.
Sami: What's going on with you, EJ?
EJ: Lexie is sick. Can you please?
Sami: Sick? Sick how?
EJ: Sick... she has a brain tumor. Apparently, it's inoperable. Sounds like egregious malpractice by a bunch of small-minded doctors, if you ask me. I mean, they don't know who she is.
Sami: She's your sister.
EJ: No, she's a doctor. She's a doctor. Understand what that means? That means that she helps people, and she saves lives. So why doesn't Alexandra get the same help when she needs it, huh? [Sighs]
EJ: I'm fine. I don't want to be comforted, Samantha, I'm not a child.
Sami: Okay. I'm sorry about Lexie. Did you not know she was sick?
EJ: No, I had no idea she was sick. When you look at her, she looks fine.
Sami: Well, maybe there's something they can do. You know, they have new treatments and stuff all the time.
EJ: I just don't understand how something like this happens.
Sami: Sometimes there aren't answers.
EJ: I know. But this is Lexie. This isn't supposed to happen to her. She's--she's different than other people. She's better. She's a better person. It just doesn't seem fair that she's being punished like this.
Sami: She's not being punished because of who she is.
EJ: It certainly feels that way to me.
Sami: Do you think Johnny was being punished when he was sick?
EJ: Why would you say that?
Sami: EJ, don't you remember what it felt like when he heard his diagnosis? And now he's asleep in the next room, healthy, as though nothing ever happened. You just don't know. You don't know how these things are gonna go. And you don't always have control, that's why it's so scary. That's why it's so hard.
EJ: That's true. Come on, Samantha, what are these doing here? These are Countess Wilhelmina files. You were supposed to take them back.
Sami: Well, EJ, things have changed.
EJ: Really? Did Kate give you your job back?
Sami: Um, well, I am now running Countess Wilhelmina, yeah.
EJ: Really? Since when?
Sami: Earlier today.
Sami: It's actually great news for me, EJ.
EJ: And who did this?
Sami: Well, you know it wasn't Kate. Obviously she did something that really ticked Stefano off.
Sami: And when he was talk--
EJ: What? Whoa, whoa, stop. My father can't just do that without consulting me.
Sami: Why would he need to consult you?
EJ: Because I'm a partner in the company. He can't just give control away to somebody else without getting my approval! That's why.
Marlena: Who cares what Stefano is doing now? Look, you're away from him, you're out from under his control.
John: What he wanted, Doc, that man waited years to get his hands on it. Never stopped thinking about that damn egg for a minute, because the coin side of it, it means something to him.
Marlena: And, of course, it means something to you.
John: I just need to figure out what he's after, and that coin has something to do with it.
Marlena: If he wants the coin, give it to him. Be done with it.
John: Oh, come on, Doc, you can't really think it's that easy. You know as well as I do it never ends, and that is why I need to be working with the I.S.A. here, because this time around, DiMera's never been more dangerous.
Kate: There has to be some recourse.
Kate: You find a way to undo this now.
Lucas: Mom, listen to me for a second.
Kate: What are you doing here?
Lucas: What do you mean what am I doing here? I'm worried about you. I've been looking all over for you. Come here for a second, okay, let's talk. We'll talk, and we're gonna figure this thing out, just you and me. Sit.
Kate: There is really no point because there is nothing to figure out.
Lucas: I know, I get it. I get that you're upset. Okay, I don't blame you for that. But we'll just start another company, you and me. We'll do it together. We've done it before, we'll do it again.
Kate: No. You have no idea.
Lucas: I know-- I know how much Countess Wilhelmina meant to you. I do know that.
Lucas: Well, then, I don't care about Stefano. I don't care how this happened. I mean, eventually, he's gonna pay for what he did, but in the meantime, I just want you and Billie to come work for me at Hearth and Home...
Lucas: We'll run it together.
Kate: Just stop, stop. You need to listen to me, okay? That phone call was about Hearth and Home.
Lucas: What? What about it?
Kate: He took it from us. Stefano's taken everything from us.
Hope: Why isn't it working? Why isn't he waking up?
Daniel: Sometimes these things just take a little time.
Hope: Listen to me, Brady... I know you can hear me, and you know I'm not patient. You can wake up now. You're gonna be okay, I promise you. Daniel, look! Bo? I'm right here, baby. Just open your eyes. You can do it. That's it. There you go.
Bo: Fancy Face.
Hope: [Laughs] Hey, Bo...I'm right here.
Lexie: I'm not giving up, okay? It's just--
Abe: Well, what am I supposed to think when you start talking about needing to make plans for Theo?
Lexie: That we're being responsible parents. Abe, every time I close my eyes, I hear that part of me who is a doctor, and...
Abe: And what?
Lexie: She's telling me that this is what we need to do.
Abe: Oh. The husband who loves that doctor... he says to keep the faith... believe in miracles. You know why?
Abe: Because he's heard you say that to so many patients. Be strong. Stay positive. Focus. Just focus on getting better. You know, that's what you told EJ. Lex, I need to know that those aren't just words. Lex? I'm-- I am not going to lose you. Do you hear me?
Lexie: [Sniffling] Yeah. You're not going to lose me.
Marlena: All righty... I'm done resisting you on this.
John: What does that mean?
Marlena: I understand how important it is to pursue it.
John: Thank you.
Marlena: Mm... I just wish that...
John: You just wish what, sweetheart?
Marlena: I just wish we could live our lives without worrying about Stefano. Can you imagine spending time with our family, friends, and never looking over our shoulder?
John: I want that for us too.
Marlena: I know you do. I know you do. And it occurs to me that's never gonna happen until he is gone.
John: That is why I'm gonna put that bastard in prison, where he belongs.
Marlena: I don't think prison's going to do it. I don't think we'll be free until he is dead and gone.
Sami: Wait, wait. So what about the company? I mean, come on, you can't take it away from me.
EJ: Samantha, this should never have happened without my consent.
Sami: But Countess Wilhelmina is mine! He promised me.
EJ: This has nothing to do with you. You understand I'm a principle at DiMera Enterprises. He can't do this without my signing off on it.
Sami: Okay, so you didn't sign off. That's fine, right? You don't object, right? Stefano promised me that I--
EJ: I don't care what my father promised you, Samantha. I don't care. It has nothing to do with that. What I care about is the fact that my father is deliberately circumventing my authority, and I'm gonna find out why. Because this is not for the first time.
Sami: What are you talking about?
EJ: This is the latest in a long line of insults my father has thrown at me, and I'm gonna find out where they're coming from.
Sami: Okay. Well, while you're doing that, how 'bout me, right, EJ, and the company? Countess Wilhelmina, I still get to run it, right? I'll take that as a yes.
Kate: I'm sorry. I am really so sorry. He--Stefano wants to destroy me. Completely and utterly.
Lucas: There's gotta be a way. There's gotta be a way to undo all this.
Kate: No, that's what I'm trying to tell you. He can do whatever he wants to do because he has full control of Countess Wilhelmina. And I signed over Hearth and Home to him when we were first married.
Lucas: How could you do that? How could you let him get away with that? What were you thinking?
Kate: I don't know. I don't know how I could be so stupid.
Hope: I missed you so much.
Bo: Missed you-- I missed you more. What-- how long have I been in here?
Hope: Too long.
Bo: And you're-- you're back from-- when--is everything okay?
Hope: Stop. Stop. There'll be plenty of time to fill you in. Right now you just need to rest.
Bo: I just woke up, and you're already telling me what to do.
Hope: [Laughs] I've missed that. Because I'm a good wife.
Bo: [Door opens] Hey, Doc. You've, uh... will you give us a minute?
Daniel: Yeah. One minute.
Bo: When you were talking before... about all our memories... I just-- I could hear you. And all I want-- wanted to do was wake up... you know, and just see-- see my Fancy Face.
Hope: Brady... I love you more than you'll ever know.
Bo: I love you, Fancy Face. I love you.
Hope: I love you.
