Kate: [Laughing] Oh, my God. People, I want to introduce you to the very hot, world-renowned stylist Alexander Christian. Mwah!

Alexander: Thanks, love. Great to meet you both. Are you ready to have some fun?

Gabi: Yeah.

Alexander: Great look, Chad.

Chad: Thank you.

Alexander: Gabi, ready to get your glam on?

Gabi: Yeah. [Giggles]

Alexander: All right, let's just breathe.

Gabi: [Giggling] Okay.

Chad: Oh, man.

Kate: This good. I like this look. That's enough. Just touch up the lips. Hey. Those pants fit you perfectly.

Chad: Uh, by perfectly, you mean I can't breathe?

Kate: Ahh.

Chad: 'Cause that's what I'm thinking.

Kate: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. You want to be a top model, you have to suffer for your art. But seriously, both of you, you look amazing from head to toe.

Gabi: Thank you. You know, that stylist that Sami hired was awesome.

Kate: I know, right? She really went beyond the call of duty. This campaign is going to be so successful. And it needs to be. We're going to be featured on toofab.com.

Carrie: Okay, so we'll talk later and decide where to go on our date.

Austin: Yes, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Sounds good.

Carrie: Great. Okay, well, I just heard of a-a new Indian restaurant on--on valley.

Austin: Great. Perfect. I'll--I'll make a reservation.

Carrie: Great. I better go.

Austin: Yeah, me too.

Carrie: Bye.

Austin: Bye. Have a good day.

Carrie: You too.

Austin: Abigail, hey!

Abigail: Hi, Austin.

Austin: Hi. You have time for a cup of coffee?

Abigail: I do.

Austin: Great, great. Come.

Marlena: Hey, look what the wind blew in. Hey, handsome.

Will: Hi.

Marlena: I know having an early lunch with me is not your first priority, but I'm so glad you made it.

Will: Are you kidding? I love talking with you. But if you're gonna lecture me about working with EJ or my relationship with my mother--

Marlena: No, no, no, no. Not why I invited you. Not at all.

Will: Mm-hmm. Thank you.

Marlena: There is one thing that I want to make perfectly clear... from the very bottom of my heart. Whatever choices you make in your life, as long as they don't hurt you-- well... I could never love you more than I do right this very moment.

Maggie: Well?

Victor: Bad for the gut. Bad for the heart. Like I give a damn. This is the most delicious thing I've ever tasted.

Maggie: Well, I do give a damn, Victor. I made them out of oatmeal. Good for the gut. Good for the heart.

Victor: Not as good as you.

Maggie: Mmm.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Brady: Maggie. These are outrageous.

Maggie: [Laughs]

Victor: Yeah, she'd bake 'em every day if you'd come around more often.

Brady: I still live here, Grandfather, you know.

Maggie: I think what your grandfather's trying to say is you've been awfully busy since you've been seeing Madison.

Victor: And working with your father. How's that going, by the way?

Brady: It's going well. We're actually very happy with the way we're repositioning Basic Black.

Victor: Oh, glad to hear it.

Brady: [Sighs] Thank you.

Victor: Well, you will be sorely missed. That's why it's important that Madison get started as C.E.O. at Titan as soon as possible.

Brady: See what she says.

Victor: You mean she hasn't, uh, told you what her decision is?

Brady: No, she hasn't.

Victor: Well, hopefully your lady friend will know a good thing when it's put right in front of her.

Madison: Yes, I know. Titan is a major company. If that's what you think I should do, then consider it done.

Rafe: You're still here.

Sami: I didn't think you were coming back.

Rafe: Yeah. Forgot my phone. Why aren't you at the photo shoot?

Sami: Um, I'm on my way there in a few minutes. I... I'm glad you're here. I... I don't like the way we left things.

Rafe: Yeah, and I don't like that you and Madison are pulling some sort of corporate espionage thing on Kate.

Sami: I know. But--

Rafe: Look, just don't mess with the DiMeras. We'll talk later. I gotta go.

Sami: Rafe, wait. Look, I can't concentrate when we're fighting. I want to find a way to make it right. Look, I get it. You don't love what I'm doing right now. But you have to agree that we need the money that this job is paying me.

Rafe: So you're saying you wouldn't have taken this job if I still had a regular paycheck.

Sami: No, that isn't-- I'm saying I love what I'm doing, and I am saying that Madison has given me the opportunity of a lifetime.

Rafe: Yeah. By asking you to lie. Not just to Kate, but to me.

Sami: If that's what this is about, I told you as soon as I could.

Rafe: Is that supposed to make it better?

Sami: [Exhales] Okay, fine. Sorry I'm not perfect. Okay?

Rafe: [Chuckles] Okay. This is not helping.

Sami: No. It won't, though, will it? Nothing will. 'Cause I'm not perfect like you. I don't do everything right the first time. I'm not out there saving the world and feeling good about it like you are. I'm a little more grounded, you know, on taking care of my kids and finding a way to pay the mortgage every month. I don't want to have to go to EJ and ask him for child support. I don't want to have to ask Lucas. And maybe Allie should go back to Hong Kong with him.

Rafe: You know, I didn't ask you to do this. I didn't. I'm working. Maybe I'm not making as much money as I used to, but maybe one day I will.

Sami: And in the meantime, I am doing my part for this

Rafe: You asked me what you could do to make this right. You know what--you want to make this right? Walk away from the job.

Sami: I can't do that.

Rafe: Okay. So I guess this is just gonna have to be one of those things where we agree to disagree.

Sami: All I want is for you to understand.

Rafe: Oh, I know. I know that's what you want. But I don't. [Scoffs] [Pounding on table]

Will: Great. So I'm done defending why I work for EJ.

Marlena: [Laughs] Yes, you are. Although you know how I feel about it.

Will: Mm-hmm.

Marlena: But it really is, my darling boy, your choice. You have to trust yourself. I already do. But then, I know who you are inside.

Will: Thank you.

Marlena: And you've got to respect yourself. That really is the way that you get to have everything.

Will: What's everything?

Marlena: Oh, I--just-- you know, being happy inside. Believing in your own integrity. And that way, nobody can shame you for any reason. You know what I'm saying?

Madison: I didn't know you were gonna be here this morning.

Brady: Well, Granddad asked, and Maggie made muffins, so it was a win-win for me.

Victor: And I thought that Brady might be able to convince you that what we're offering you at Titan is the opportunity of a lifetime.

Maggie: Okay, before these two get started on business with you, Madison, can I get you a cup of coffee?

Madison: Oh, no, I'm fine. Thank you, Maggie. I know Victor's very anxious to hear my decision.

Victor: So you've made one.

Madison: Yes, I have. Titan is the amazingly successful corporation that it is today because of the two of you. And I think that Mad World is a very hot ticket, but Titan is another league altogether. And I'm very, very clear on that.

Victor: [Chuckles] Well, I have every faith that you're up for the challenge. And Brady agrees with me.

Brady: I totally agree.

Madison: Well, I am humbled by your belief in me, and I can't even tell you how much your support means.

Victor: Then we have a deal. I'm thrilled.

Madison: As I said, I-I am truly honored to have been asked. Unfortunately... with all due respect, I'm going to have to turn down your very generous offer.

Will: I'm fine with the choices that I've made. I've done nothing wrong by--by going to work for EJ. And I have plenty of reasons for being angry with my mother.

Marlena: Well, I was not talking about EJ or your mother.

Will: Then what are you talking about?

Marlena: Well, I was about--

Sonny: Hey. How you doing?

Marlena: Hi, Sonny. Good to see you.

Sonny: Good to see you. Yeah, I just saw you guys through the window, so I wanted to come and say hello.

Marlena: Us is that there is going to be a new coffeehouse, uh, in town?

Sonny: Yes, yes. I have an investor on the hook.

Will: Already?

Sonny: Yeah, it's looking that way.

Marlena: Well, congratulations.

Will: Wow, that's awesome.

Sonny: Yeah, thank you. I'm really pumped about it. Actually, remember my friends Kareem and Dustin?

Will: Uh, sure.

Sonny: All right, I'm getting together with them later, and we're going over designs for the logo, and I would love for you to be there, 'cause you have a great eye.

Marlena: Wow.

Sonny: And... look what Kareem came up with in just one night.

Marlena: Oh. That's interesting.

Sonny: Right? I think so too. What about you, Will? Huh? Got any ideas that you can throw in there?

Will: Uh, I'm busy today. Sorry.

Sonny: Okay, we can talk over dinner. A cheap one.

Will: Yeah, I can't.

Sonny: Is everything all right?

Will: Hey, um... is it okay if I just talk to Sonny alone for a minute?

Marlena: Of course.

Sonny: Oh, no, no. I don't want to interrupt.

Marlena: Don't be silly. I'll look at the menu. Haven't seen that enough yet.

Will: [Laughs awkwardly] [Clears throat]

Sonny: What's going on, man?

Will: Sonny, um, you remember that I-I told you I have an internship for the mayoral campaign?

Sonny: Yeah, but, uh--

Will: So I'm just busy with that and with school.

Sonny: Okay, well, then, next week.

Will: No, I probably-- the election's coming up pretty fast.

Sonny: All right, we'll do it after the elections. Come on, just pick a date, anytime.

Will: Look, I-I'd lo-- I love what you're doing. I think it's great. But don't wait for me, okay? Just meet the guys.

Sonny: But I thought you wanted to be part of the project.

Will: I...

Sonny: Is there something you don't like about my friends?

Will: Oh, no, no, no, no. No. It's...

Victor: You're not taking the job?

Madison: As I said, you're an amazing businessman.

Victor: But you don't want to work for me.

Madison: It's not that at all.

Victor: You know, I am not used to people turning me down.

Madison: I'm sure you're not.

Victor: Look, I've been around a lot longer than you have, and I have to give you the advice that this is a very bad idea.

Madison: Well, I'm listening to other advice, sir.

Brady: Advice from whom?

Madison: From myself. And from my gut, uh... the answer is no.

Gabi: I get the feeling you don't like the makeup very much.

Chad: Oh, yeah? Where'd you get that idea?

Gabi: Oh, it looks like you want to jump out of a window.

Chad: Mmm, well, I kinda do. But then I remembered all those zeroes at the end of the check.

Gabi: You're miserable. Thank you for doing this for me.

Chad: Like I said, paycheck will be nice. Oh, and by the way... Will's a jerk.

Gabi: What?

Chad: I mean, look at you. I mean, you're hot. He's an idiot for letting you get away.

Sami: Whoa. Whoa, you look amazing.

Gabi: Oh. Thanks.

Kate: Yes, thanks to you.

Chad: Thank you, thank you.

Sami: Yeah, well--

Kate: You did a good job. You got the best people.

Sami: I guess I did.

Kate: All right, then. What do you say? Let's go to work.

[Upbeat techno music]

Carrie: Well, please call us when you're ready to commit. We would love to work with you. Great. Thank you.

[Door opens]

Carrie: Bye.

Rafe: Huh. Seem like you're in a really good mood. What, are they giving out free hot dogs at the kiosk?

Carrie: Way better.

Rafe: Really? Could use some good news.

Carrie: Well, then, I will make your day.

Will: Okay, I don't know why you're making such a big deal out of this. I just don't have time to hang out with you and your friends. That's all.

Sonny: Yeah, but we're all busy, Will. You know, I just thought it'd be a good time. And it would really help me if you gave me your opinion on the logo and the business and stuff like that. You know, I really value your opinion. You know that.

Will: Thank you. I just--

Sonny: You're just too busy. You're too busy. All right, I hear ya. Um... why don't you just call me when you're not? We'll make a plan.

Will: Okay.

Sonny: You know I don't mean to pressure you. About anything. See you later, Dr. Evans.

Marlena: Bye-bye, Sonny. Good luck with your project.

Sonny: Oh, thank you.

Will: Whew. Sorry about that.

Marlena: Everything all right?

Will: Yep. All good.

Marlena: If you want to spend some time with Sonny and your friends, we could do this some other day.

Will: Let's just get something to eat.

Marlena: All right.

Austin: So I'm sorry that, uh, I had to cancel our dinner last night.

Abigail: Oh, no worries. I mean, your wife was free, after all.

Austin: [Sighs] Well, actually, it turns out, not so much.

Abigail: What do you mean?

Austin: When I called you to cancel our plans, I, um-- I thought she'd be free.

Abigail: And then she wasn't?

Austin: No.

Abigail: Oh. Sorry. You should have called.

Austin: No, no, no. I didn't want to--I didn't want to ping-pong you. Besides, I figured you made new plans.

Abigail: Actually, I was plowing through my psychology textbook. Really fun times.

Austin: [Chuckles] Actually, I was alone in my hotel room with a bad pizza and a hockey game.

Abigail: Would ya look at us?

Austin: Yeah.

Abigail: Next time, call me.

Austin: Okay. I will.

Carrie: Your friend's son, the arson case-- I've been doing some digging up this morning.

Rafe: What'd you get?

Carrie: There was a first responder who got a commendation for bravery from the fire department where he used to work. He got a disability settlement for smoke inhalation afterward.

Rafe: Fire bug who wanted early retirement.

Carrie: I got his photo from the medal ceremony in the newsletter. He matches the description of the guy, the new witness--

Rafe: Who was acting suspiciously? That guy? Oh, my God. Carrie, this is huge.

Carrie: I know. I hope so. You called the D.A.'s office?

Carrie: I put a call in to his office, yeah.

Rafe: God, I-I-- I don't know how to thank you.

Carrie: Oh, don't thank me until I've cleared the kid. But you're the one that believed in his story.

Rafe: Yeah.

Carrie: [Laughs]

Rafe: Wow.

Carrie: Well, is-- is something wrong?

Rafe: No. No, this is great news.

Both: Yeah.

Carrie: Okay, well, I-is something else going on?

Rafe: No.

[Upbeat techno music]

Brady: [Clears throat] And here I could've sworn you were leaning towards taking the job.

Madison: It was a tough call.

Brady: Yeah. You know, I-I know your gut has been good to you over the years, but I want to make sure that you're sure. I mean, I don't want you to regret this later.

Madison: Thank you, Brady. I've made up my mind.

Victor: I cannot believe this. [Sighs]

Maggie: Madison, just so you know, um, your decision to turn down the job doesn't change the way we feel about you. You're always welcome here.

Madison: I appreciate that so much, Maggie. Thank you. And thank you again for the offer and for your faith in me.

Victor: Yes, well, if you'll excuse me, then, I have to get on with the head hunter and find a new C.E.O. for Titan.

Madison: Wow. I think maybe we should go, like now.

Brady: No, um... before we go, I'd like to know why you turned down my grandfather.

Madison: Brady--

Brady: Madison... Tell me what's really going on.

Austin: So if I didn't see you here, I was gonna call you. I got your message. What's up?

Abigail: Oh, well, I just got some good news, and-- I don't know, I wanted to tell you about it. I wanted to tell all my friends about it, actually.

Austin: Well, cool, cool. What is it?

Abigail: I got the internship at Mad World Cosmetics.

Austin: Abigail. Abigail, that's terrific! I know how much you wanted that.

Abigail: I did. I mean, I can't believe that Madison James is letting me work for her.

Austin: I am so ha-- I am so happy for you. Come here.

Abigail: Thank you.

Austin: You know what? Let's celebrate. Breakfast, lunch, whatever you want on me.

Abigail: You don't have to do that.

Austin: Yes, I do. And besides, I feel bad about cancelling for last night. You know what? Let's do something nicer. Brunch at Chez Rouge.

Abigail: Okay.

Austin: Yeah?

Abigail: Oh, wait. Uh, that's--Chez Rouge is only open for dinner on weeknights.

Austin: Oh, it is, seriously?

Abigail: Yeah.

Austin: Oh. Oh, well.

Abigail: But you know what? It's still early, and I never eat more than a muffin for breakfast anyway.

Austin: Yeah? Healthy girl, huh?

Abigail: I make up for it the rest of the day, I swear. I actually take very good care of myself.

Austin: Clearly. Um, okay. Well, we got the coffee, so... [Laughs] I'll get your muffin.

Abigail: Okay.

Austin: I'll be back.

Rafe: Huh.

Carrie: I-I mean it. Is something going on?

Rafe: Nah. I mean, no more than the usual. Homework, tee ball, you know.

Carrie: Mm-hmm. You just seem stressed.

Rafe: Yeah, yeah. But I'm good. Being here at work, it's a good distraction. I like dealing with other people's problems better than my own. Even if it is mostly for free. [Chuckles]

Carrie: Mm-hmm. Work is a good escape.

Rafe: Yeah. So you got a picture of this Good Samaritan?

Carrie: I do.

Rafe: Let's see here. Oh, my God. This matches the eye witness's account perfectly.

Carrie: I know.

Rafe: [Scoffs] Well, the D.A. sure is taking his sweet time getting back to you, isn't he?

Carrie: Tell me about it.

Rafe: Let's pay him a house call.

Carrie: Really?

Rafe: Yeah, really. I need the distraction.

Carrie: Oh, that's a great idea. Okay. Okay. [Chuckles] Thank you.

Rafe: Yeah.

[Sultry techno music]

Tracy: Beautiful. That's the shot.

Alexander: Nice.

Tracy: Good job, guys.

Sami: Whoo!

Kate: Fantastic. Tracy, thank you. Thank you so much.

Sami: Fantastic. Thank you. I love it. We are so thrilled.

Alexander: I have robes.

Kate: Yes, please. Get warm.

Sami: Warm up.

Kate: Hydrate, hydrate.

Sami: Good job, Gabi. It was wonderful.

Alexander: Thanks, love.

Kate: Thank you so much.

Sami: Good job.

Chad: Thank you.

Sami: Good job, Chad. Everyone, I mean it. Awesome.

Kate: Wow. I don't think I'm overstating to say that we have a gold mine in those two.

Sami: Oh, yeah, they definitely handled themselves like a couple of pros.

Kate: You know, I took a leap of faith when I hired you away from Madison's little company. And I'm really happy I did. You are working out even better than I thought you would.

Brady: I mean, it can't be that you just don't want the job.

Madison: Like I said--

Brady: You go with your gut. I know, and you love Mad World. It's your baby. I get that.

Madison: That's part of it.

Brady: And you don't want to give up control of Mad World because you're afraid that Countess W. will steal your shares.

Madison: I would put Mad World up against her junk any day of the week.

Brady: Really. Is that why you have Sami playing James Bond over there and trying to sabotage her company?

Madison: Look, I know you don't like my strategy.

Brady: Madison, it's not that I don't like your strategy. I don't understand your strategy, okay? You're willing to put a mole over there and get bits and pieces, but the minute you're given a chance to run an organization that could potentially give you infinite power and control, you dismiss it. I just think that one plus one doesn't equal two here, Madison.

Madison: My instincts in business haven't failed me yet. There's no reason to think this would be any different.

Brady: [Sighs] Except that this doesn't make any sense.

Madison: Doesn't have to. I just know.

Brady: I guess that's that.

Madison: Can you live with it?

Brady: I guess I don't have much of a choice, huh?

Madison: [Childlike voice] I guess you don't.

Brady: Well, it's your life, you know.

Madison: It's not just my life. I could never, ever begin to thank you enough for pushing me, Brady, to ask questions, for wanting the very best for me. You are never going to know how much your support means to me.

Marlena: Come on. Fro-yo maker?

Will: That's what Sydney said she wanted for her birthday.

Marlena: When I was her age, I had a little oven that would make little tiny cakes, and it baked them with a light bulb.

Will: She has one of those.

Marlena: I got her one. I know.

Will: Oh, it's collecting dust somewhere.

Marlena: Oh, well. Thought it was awfully nice that Sonny wanted to get your input on his project.

Will: Oh, yeah. I told him I'd help him if I had the time.

Marlena: You don't have any time?

Will: No. Not with the--you know, school and with the campaign.

Marlena: No time for your friends? Yipes. And such an outgoing young man. I don't know. I guess that's the price, huh?

Will: Really? Grandma, we're not gonna let this go?

Marlena: I just saw you shut down with your friend. He was trying to be friendly and inclusive.

Will: He's trying to make me do something I didn't want to do with his friends. Can we just-- can we drop this, please?

Marlena: Well, no. We can't.

Will: [Sighs]

Abigail: You know, after everything that's happened with Chad, I was kind of concerned that I would be a drag to be around. You and I are gonna be spending a lot of time together this semester, so if you ever feel like I'm just--

Austin: Abigail. Abigail, would you relax? I mean, you know I-- I love spending time with you.

Abigail: I love spending time with you too, Austin.

Austin: Good.

Carrie: Whew.

Rafe: Wow. Well, that D.A. seemed really unsure about going ahead with the arson charge after what you just told him.

Carrie: I know. That was a very satisfying lawyer meeting. And trust me, most are not.

Rafe: Yeah, well. I trust ya. So now what?

Carrie: It's up to the D.A. but he knows damn well that I can raise reasonable doubt with a jury if he goes ahead with this.

Rafe: Yeah. How lucky am I to be working with such a smart woman? Huh?

Carrie: [Laughs] Thank you. I like working with smart men. So we're even.

Rafe: Well, yeah. Hopefully all these smarts will start getting us some new clients.

Carrie: [Sighs] Well, I cold-called a bunch of businesses today to see if I could drum up some work.

Rafe: Good idea.

Carrie: Yeah. If we could get three or four cases from them that we could actually solve--

Rafe: Right, exactly.

Carrie: Maybe we could make rent on this joint.

Rafe: Yep, and then you will not just be smart. You will be a genius.

Madison: I know you're upset about what Sami and I are doing.

Brady: I'm--I'm afraid if it gets out, that you both are gonna be in trouble. Like, dangerous, bad trouble.

Madison: We're being careful.

Brady: You don't want to talk about it, I understand. Okay, look, I'm gonna get us something to drink, okay?

Madison: Don't do that, okay? Don't be mad at me.

Brady: I am not mad at you. I like you. I'm concerned for you. I'll be back.

Madison: Hey. How's it going?

Sami: Well, I'm just looking through the photos now. We just uploaded them.

Madison: How did it go?

Sami: It went well.

Madison: Well? You mean it went so-so?

Sami: [Sighs] No, I mean well. Like, better than well. These photos are incredible.

Madison: That wasn't the plan, Sami. You were supposed to divert Kate and Countess W. long enough for us to launch our women's line,

Sami: I'm aware of that. But I think that Chad and Gabi were more natural at this than I thought they would be.

Madison: Okay, well, Sami, you have to do something about that.

Sami: What am I supposed to do? The photo shoot is over.

Kate: Hey, what's going on? Who are you talking to?

Will: Oh, wow, I gotta go. I didn't realize it was so late.

Marlena: Say, Will. You know I love you. So when I see you struggling or in pain... it makes me want to help you.

Will: But I'm not struggling. And I'm not in pain. I'm just busy. I-I'll be fine.

Marlena: I know you will. I just have a sense you could use someone to talk to, somebody that you trust. Someone you feel safe with. So I want to remind you that I'm here, anytime at all.

Will: I appreciate that more than you know.

Marlena: Will...

Will: I gotta go.

Marlena: Honey--

Will: I'm sorry. I gotta go.

Chad and Gabi: Hey, Will.

Chad: Bye, Will.

Gabi: Uh--

Sami: Well, Kate, I was just talking to the wardrobe supervisor about some other clothes that I had asked for for the photo shoot, and I told her the photo shoot is done, and we do not need more help.

Kate: [Chuckles] Well, isn't that the truth? I know I keep on saying this, but it was such a triumph, wasn't it?

Sami: I am so glad that you think so.

Kate: Well, you know, when you first suggested those two as models, I didn't in my wildest dreams think it would turn out this good. Oh, wow. [Laughing] Wow. You know, when Madison sees these, she's not gonna know what hit her.

Victor: How could she turn this offer down, Maggie?

Maggie: Well, she obviously has her reasons.

Victor: Yeah, none of which she chose to share.

Maggie: She doesn't have to, Victor. You know that.

Victor: She is a very, very smart businesswoman. She knows Titan could launch her into the stratosphere professionally. How could she say no?

Maggie: Well, maybe she's just very happy running her own smaller business.

Victor: [Grumbles] I chose her because I saw her fire, her ambition. She wanted this, Maggie. Then she did a total 180. What happened? Something else is going on.

[Footsteps approach]

Brady: Here you go.

Madison: Thanks.

Brady: [Sighs] What's wrong?

Madison: Wrong?

Brady: Yeah, something's up. I can see it in your eyes. What's wrong?

Madison: Agh. I just--

Brady: Hey.

Madison: I don't know. Nothing. I have a lot going on, you know. It's just a lot to juggle.

Brady: Like that ever stopped you before.

Madison: Thank you for having so much faith in me.

Brady: Of course.

Madison: Even when you don't agree with my decisions.

Brady: Even when I don't agree--mmm--with your decision. Hey. What is it you're not telling me?

Rafe: Right--right there, in the witness statement. That's it. See it?

[Phone rings]

Carrie: Oh, yeah.

Rafe: Hernandez.

Sami: Hey. It's me.

Rafe: Oh, hi.

Sami: Are you busy?

Rafe: Yeah, we are.

Sami: Look, I, uh, can't stop thinking about it. Are you still mad at me?

Rafe: Sami, you know how I feel about that. Listen, we're waiting for a call from the D.A.'s office right now. It's really important.

Sami: Rafe, come on.

Rafe: Look, I can't talk about this now. I'll talk to you later, okay?

Carrie: You fighting with my sister?

[Phone rings]

Rafe: Hernandez. Yes? I'm sorry, could you say that one more time? [Chuckling] Okay. Thank you.

Carrie: What? What?

Rafe: They dropped the arson charges.

Carrie: [Gasps] No way!

Rafe: Yes, they did!

Carrie: Oh, my goodness!

Rafe: God! [Both laughing] Oh, my God, Carrie! Oh!! [Sighs]

Marlena: Hey, you two.

Chad: Hi. Uh, is--is Will okay?

Gabi: Yeah, because-- I mean, I know I'm not his favorite person right now, but he--he didn't even look at me when I came in.

Marlena: He's got a lot going on right now. He'll be fine. I'll make sure of it.

Maggie: I think that Madison's decision to walk away from your offer was personal.

Victor: What do you mean? That woman lives to work and succeed at it. Why turn away from a challenge?

Maggie: Because she's just not about work anymore, thanks to your grandson. She's in love with Brady.

Victor: Hm.

Maggie: She wants to spend more time with him, not less.

Victor: Yeah, but the--

Maggie: And I also think that she's ready for a very different kind of challenge and reward than she has ever known before. I say good for her.

Madison: What's going on is that I care about you. A lot, Brady. So much. That's all.

Brady: That's all?

Madison: Mm-hmm.

Brady: Well, that's a lot.

Madison: Uh-huh.

Brady: Madison James, you ticked off my grandfather today. But... I hope you know that I'm behind you no matter what. Okay?

Madison: I do. Thank you.

Brady: You are more than welcome. Now, do I get to see you later?

Madison: You better.

Brady: I want to.

Madison: Good. Thank you.

Brady: My pleasure.

Madison: Yes? Yes, I did what you asked. I turned down Victor Kiriakis' offer. No, it wasn't easy. I feel like I just gave up the biggest opportunity of my life. I'm trusting you.

[Footsteps approach]

Kate: What are you doing?

Sami: I'm proofing the proofs.

Kate: [Scoffs] Well, come on. Come with me. We have a lot of work to do.

Rafe: I should go tell Martin the good news about the charges.

Carrie: Yeah, I have a ton of calls to make.

Rafe: Okay. I'll see you later then.

Carrie: Mm.

Rafe: Oh, man.
