Roman: Every minute that goes by, the chances get worse for my grandson. I want you to call every unit that's involved in that search. You tell 'em I want updated every ten minutes.
Officer: Yes, sir.
Bo: Hey, man.
Bo: Uniforms, forensics crawling all over the pub, mom's apartment, storage area, surrounding area. No sign of Johnny.
Roman: Doesn't make sense. I mean, it doesn't make sense-- we've got him, he's safe. Then, all of a sudden, he just vanishes.
Bo: Take it easy. You guys were dodging bullets. Took your attention off him for a minute. You know how he's scared of loud noises--he probably panicked, hid someplace, and he's scared to come out of hiding.
Roman: [Sighs] I hope you're right.
Bo: Me too. 'Cause if his disappearance is connected to the attempt on John's life...
Roman: The longer he's missing, the less chance we have to find him alive.
John: Never should have gone to the pub.
John: You all could have died, and now Johnny's missing because of me.
Marlena: It's not your fault.
Austin: She's right, John.
John: You tell Sami that while she waits for word about her missing boy.
Marlena: Roman is all over this. And nobody is more motivated than he is. He will find Johnny. And he will find the person who tried to shoot at us.
Carrie: I just hung up with the judge's clerk.
John: What were you doing talking to him?
Carrie: I told him what just happened and said that I was gonna ask for a continuance today and file a motion for a change of venue.
John: Carrie, forget about me!
Carrie: I can't. I have a meeting in the clerk's office in a few minutes. I have to go.
Austin: I'm going with you.
Marlena: Thank you.
[Cell phone ringing]
John: Is that about Johnny?
Marlena: Roman said there no--no sign of him yet.
EJ: Samantha, it's EJ. Look, I know you were in the pub with the children when the shots were fired. Just do me a favor--just call me as soon as you get this. All right?
Nicole: EJ, I just heard the news from my car radio. Someone was shooting a high-powered rifle into there?
EJ: Yeah, John Black was in there. Nicole, somebody was trying to take him out.
Nicole: Are you kidding me?
Nicole: EJ, you... you have to release a statement.
EJ: No, Nicole, just not now, all right?
Nicole: But you're the one supporting a class-action suit against him.
EJ: Nicole, not now, all right? Listen, Samantha and the children were in there with Marlena when the shots were fired, and I can't track them down!
Nicole: God, I didn't know. The report said there weren't any casualties.
EJ: No, but I'm sure the children were terrified. I-I can't--hold on.
[Cell phone ringing]
EJ: Ahh. Okay, it's Samantha. She says she's at the police station, all right?
Sami: [Crying] I just thought he was gonna be here, Rafe! I mean, when he ran away from EJ's, he came here. He knew we would be here, and he came here. Why isn't he here? Daddy! Daddy, did you find him?
Roman: No. I'm sorry.
Sami: Where is he? I just want to be looking for him!
Rafe: You didn't find anything?
Roman: Wish I could say yes.
Sami: You know, if we hadn't taken him to see John, none of this would have happened.
Roman: Sami, we're gonna find him, all right? You gotta believe that.
Bo: Roman, I just got off the phone with the feds, the state cops. They got nothing on the shooter.
Roman: What, the guy shoots up the pub in the middle of the day and gets away clean? There's gotta be some video surveillance somewhere. Parking lot exits, ATMs, anything.
Bo: I'm on it.
Sami: That shooter is out there, and so is Johnny.
EJ: Samantha? Where are the children?
Sami: Sidney and ally are with Caroline and will.
EJ: Okay. Well, where's Johnny?
Sami: It just happened really fast.
EJ: Samantha, you tell me.
Sami: He's gone, and we can't find him!
Daniel: Hey. I guess I should have called first.
Jennifer: No. I'm glad to see you.
Daniel: Me too.
Jennifer: Oh, gosh, it's freezing. Come in. I'm sorry. Come on. Brr!
Daniel: I know. It is cold out there.
Daniel: Well, you got a fire. Did you, um, I don't know, did you see about the--did you hear about the shooting at the Brady pub?
Daniel: Johnny DiMera is missing.
Jennifer: I just saw that on the news. It's just...terrible. You know, for everyone. Sami must be beside herself.
Daniel: Yeah, yeah. Well, I operated on him last year.
Jennifer: Oh, yeah. I remember.
Daniel: But, you know, anyway, I just, you know, I got the news and I felt bad about it, and so I got off duty, got in my car, and then I found myself headed here, um, before I even knew I made that decision.
Jennifer: That's good. That's good. I'm glad.
Jennifer: I am, um, I'm sorry that I wasn't here for Victor and Maggie's wedding. You know, I wanted to...be there for you. I wanted to be there with you.
Daniel: Well, you know, you can't control the weather. Right?
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah. Especially not these days. Um, I know that... that you're upset about Johnny, but is everything else all right?
Daniel: Uh...yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. When something bad happens, something good happens, you seem to be the person that I want to--I want to talk to.
Jennifer: That's good. I-I love that.
Daniel: Uh... actually, you know, that--it's, uh, there is something wrong.
Jennifer: Okay, is it--is it you and Maggie?
Daniel: Uh, no, no. I mean, it's been a lot for me to wrap my head around, finding out that Maggie's my mother. But, you know, I'M... I'll get through that, and, uh--
Daniel: I'll be fine.
Jennifer: I'm glad to hear that. So what is it? What's wrong?
Daniel: Um... Brady and I, we were running yesterday, and we came by here just to see if you were okay. And as I was walking up to the door, I glanced in the window and I saw you kissing Jack.
Marlena: Roman and Bo will not stop until they find Johnny.
John: The squirt's been through much in his life already.
Marlena: John is blaming himself for all this.
Carrie: I really hate to leave him, but I have to get this trial moved. John is not safe, and maybe the people around him aren't safe either.
Carrie: I have to get to the clerk's office. Austin, you don't have to come with me.
Austin: Oh, I'm going with you.
Marlena: Thank you, and... and if you see Sami, tell her that my arms are around her, and John and I are praying that Johnny comes home very soon.
Carrie: I will.
Austin: Both of you, please be careful.
Marlena: You too. Thank you. Hey.
Marlena: Good idea, moving the venue, hmm? They will find Johnny. You will be exonerated. And life will return to normal.
Sami: We were at the pub, and everything was fine, and then all of a sudden, I don't know, shots rang out, and--and then--
EJ: You're saying...Johnny was at the pub when the shots were fired?
Sami: And we were all together, and he was fine, and then the shooting stopped and there was total chaos and... Sidney and ally were really upset, and I was just trying to help them feel better. And then I looked around, and Johnny was gone, and I couldn't find him anywhere!
EJ: You're certain he wasn't harmed, though, right?
Sami: Yes! I had him in my arms! I swear to god, he was okay!
EJ: Well, but then you lost track of him, so can you be sure? Can you be sure?!
Rafe: EJ... if Johnny had been hit by a high-powered rifle, there would be evidence.
EJ: Then what happened to him, all right? And why didn't you call me when this happened?!
Rafe: She was thinking about Johnny!
EJ: Was she? She took him to a public place with a man who's been accused of defrauding people out of their pensions! A man who was beaten up in jail for doing exactly that. If she was thinking of anything, it wasn't my son's safety!
Rafe: Oh, don't you even go there.
EJ: What are you doing?
Roman: Every officer in the department's on this. So are the state police and the feds.
EJ: One little boy. One little kid. Who you're all related to! And you lose sight of him in broad daylight. Come on, let's get out of here.
Sami: Where are you going?
EJ: I'm gonna find my son. 'Cause I was a fool to trust him to a bunch of Bradys.
Bo: You need to calm down.
EJ: Calm down? Let me ask you something, Bo--how calm were you when your kid disappeared? Huh? I'm gonna get all my father's men, and I'm gonna find him, and you guys can stay out of my way.
Rafe: You really think that this is helping? Huh?
Roman: You throw a bunch of hired muscle out there, you're gonna put your son in jeopardy!
EJ: My son is in jeopardy!
Bo: You don't learn, do you?
EJ: I'm not making the mistake of trusting this to the Salem police department.
Sami: Okay, shut up! Everybody just... do what we have to do to find Johnny, okay? Because that is what matters!
Jennifer: I--I am so sorry... that you saw that kiss.
Daniel: Hey, I'm not trying to make you feel bad. I'm not trying to put you on the spot. I wasn't spying.
Jennifer: No, I know that.
Daniel: Yeah, you know what I gotta do? I gotta stop coming over here without calling first.
Jennifer: No, that--no, please don't. Please. Uhh, I don't know what to say.
Daniel: You know, I know that you need to find out where your heart is--I do. But the thought of you and Jack together, I just never imagined that you'd be kissing.
Jennifer: No, Daniel, I--
Daniel: Stupid me, really--
Jennifer: I never--
Daniel: No, I'm not trying to make you feel bad, I'm not. But I gotta tell you something: I don't know. I do not know if I'm cut out for this.
Jennifer: What does that mean? What are you saying?
Daniel: I'm saying this is even harder than I thought it would be.
Jennifer: Daniel, listen to me, Jack... he was just sharing some things with me about his time in Afghanistan.
Daniel: I'm sure he was, right? And that made you feel bad about what he went through.
Jennifer: Yes, and what he went through, what he's still doing through, and... and then... yeah, I-I was kissing him. And... to be honest with you, I don't know--I don't know where I am.
Daniel: I see.
Jennifer: And I need to make a decision, I know that. I know that I do, but I'm not ready.
Daniel: No, I got it. I got it. I got it, I understand.
Jennifer: You do understand? Because I want to do everything I can to make this easier.
Sami: Pointing fingers is not gonna help us find Johnny right now!
Bo: Neither is interfering with a police investigation.
EJ: So what am I supposed to do, just trust you guys to get the job done?
Bo: EJ... look, man...I know how you feel. My daughter went missing.
EJ: No, you don't. She ran away. That's completely different. And you're a police officer. You could do something about it.
Roman: And you can do something too--you can think about Johnny. He gets scared, takes off. Where does he go? What does he do? We would like to hear your ideas about that.
Bo: The first 24 hours are crucial when a child goes missing. Now, this department has the techniques, the personnel, the equipment to do a comprehensive search. Now, you let us do our job!
Nicole: Can I, um, have a moment alone with you, please?
EJ: Sure, yeah.
Roman: Look, I'm sorry that got out of hand. He just has a way of pushing my buttons.
Rafe: Yeah, not just yours.
Roman: The DiMeras cannot take over this investigation.
Sami: I get that. I just want him back. I just want my baby back.
Rafe: I know.
Carrie: I have to get to that meeting, Austin.
Austin: Yeah, and you don't have to worry about it, 'cause this is only gonna take minute.
Carrie: I already know what you're gonna say.
Austin: When I heard that shots were being fired at that pub, I was so scared. I thought I was gonna drive there, and I was gonna find you dead. This thing with John is a nightmare, Carrie, and you are right in the middle of it.
Carrie: I know, I told John I was gonna get him off, and I'm going to. You don't have to worry about me. I've already spoken to the head of the security team.
Austin: Oh, well, you know, tell him for me that he's doing a hell of a job. Because some guy with a rifle fired into the pub for, I don't know, let's say ten minutes or so, and then the perp got off Scott-free. And now Johnny is missing. And every one of you could have been killed.
Carrie: But we weren't. And they will find Johnny.
Austin: And, god willing, he's gonna be all right.
Carrie: What do you--what do you want me to do?
Austin: I think you know the answer to that.
Carrie: You want me to drop the case, don't you?
John: The little tyke is out there somewhere. He's alone, he's afraid. Possibly in terrible danger because of me. I'm not gonna let anybody else get hurt.
Marlena: What are you thinking to do?
John: I'm gonna take control of the situation. The only way I can do that is by pleading guilty.
Marlena: Oh, you don't mean that!
John: The sooner this nightmare is over, the sooner the people I love will not get hurt, and don't even try to talk me out of it. My mind is made up.
Nicole: EJ...listen to me. You need to cool off.
EJ: Cool off? My son is missing.
Nicole: You don't think I know that? You don't think I love him as if he were my own.
EJ: I know.
Nicole: You can't start threatening to take over from the police, not when you're running for mayor.
EJ: I don't care about that.
Nicole: But li... when Johnny is found, and he will be found, you will care a lot. So you need to start mending fences with the Salem P.D. And I know you hate hearing that, but right now, EJ, this is a defining moment. You need to prove that you can hold it together in the worst possible circumstances. Can you do that?
Sami: So what can I do? How can I help?
Roman: All right, just what I told EJ. All right, think about Johnny. What would he do? Where would he go?
Sami: Well, he... he doesn't like loud noises, so I would have thought that he would try to go home.
Bo: We got a unit over there. He hasn't...he hasn't gone home yet.
Sami: Well, what about that news stand down the street? You know, the one with Margie. And she's so nice to him all the time. She slips him candy when he thinks I'm not looking, and maybe she talked to him. Maybe--maybe he talked to her.
Bo: Okay, okay, that's good. I'll send a unit over.
Rafe: His friend Matthew, uh, his house is down the street--
Sami: Matthew's right there.
Bo: Okay, give me an address.
Sami: So, daddy, I wanna go look for him.
Roman: Sami, that's not a good idea. Why don't you let Rafe take you home, wait for Johnny there.
Sami: Because he's my son, dad. Because I wanna go find him!
Austin: So you get shot at, and I'm just supposed to not worry about you.
Carrie: I didn't say that. But the best way to make everyone safe is to prove John's innocence.
Austin: And how long do you think that one's gonna take?
Carrie: I don't know. What I do know is I made a choice to be a criminal lawyer. We talked about this, Austin. I can't just run when things get difficult.
Austin: This is more than difficult, okay? Some crackpot tried to blow John's head off, and now Johnny's missing. What if that bastard was aiming at you?
Carrie: I'll wear body armor if I have to.
Austin: Oh, come on, Carrie.
Carrie: I'll do whatever it is--I won't take any stupid chances. I'll do whatever it takes to protect myself, okay? But I will not drop this case. You're gonna have to accept that.
Austin: I love you. More than you are aware of. And I don't know what I would do if I lost you.
Jennifer: You won't lose me. I promise.
Marlena: Are you telling me you're willing to go to prison for the rest of your life for something you didn't do?
John: It's better than watching the people I love get hurt or killed.
Marlena: Yeah...I understand how you feel.
John: It's horrible enough that a little kid is missing, but...can you imagine if he would have been hit by one of those bullets?
Marlena: He wasn't hit. Nobody was hit by a bullet.
John: And what about the next nut job that comes after me?
Marlena: John...the only way to keep your family safe is to get these charges dropped. Because the people who want revenge will come after your family if they can't get to you.
John: Yeah, I know, I've already thought about all of that.
Marlena: Okay. Okay, then, tell me...you will drop the idea of pleading guilty.
John: Baby, listen to me. This trial is not gonna be wrapped up in a week. It could take months, and even then, there's no guarantee I'm gonna be innocent. Shouldn't I just save everybody the grief?
Marlena: No...you're a man of integrity. You're the role model for our entire family.
John: I was just hoping you were gonna back me up on this.
Marlena: No, I won't let you do it.
John: The way I see it, it's not your choice.
Sami: I am not a little girl, dad!
Roman: Sami, I know--
Sami: I am his mother, and I have to go find him. Because he's gonna need me. I have to be out there looking for him so that when we find him, I can put my arms around him and I can help him.
EJ: Samantha's right. Look, uh... Johnny's missing. We both need to be working to find him. Roman...look, I apologize. My son is missing.
Roman: Well, you acted like any other father would probably act under the circumstances.
Bo: But we can't be at war with each other here. We gotta be on the same team.
Roman: I'll tell you what: Why don't I get a map, show you all the areas we've covered with the grid search, okay? Maybe you and Sami will have some other suggestions for us. All right?
Bo: I'm gonna see if there's any progress on the shooter.
Rafe: All right, so you wanna call Tim? Check with the bureau... see if there's anything else?
Sami: Will you please tell Tim thank you from me for helping?
Rafe: Yeah. Of course.
Rafe: You gonna be okay?
Sami: As okay as I can be. Thanks for, um...for backing me up.
Sami: You know, it's just... I just can't sit at home, you know, and... wait for the phone to ring.
EJ: I know. Neither can I.
Sami: I... I'm sorry, I just...
EJ: It's okay. Shh, shh, shh.
EJ: We're gonna find him. Okay?
Daniel: You know what? I'm not telling you that I saw you and Jack kissing to make you feel bad or guilty or even put pressure on you. It's just, for me, I can't-- I can't keep that stuff inside.
Jennifer: No, I know. Because I would be able to tell if something is wrong, because you're so honest, and that's one of the things that I love about you. And things just got crazy... out of control the last couple days. I mean, being snowed in with Jack. And he felt like he was trapped and, and just everything came back to him.
Daniel: Right, post-traumatic stress disorder.
Jennifer: Yes, big time, and... just seeing that close up...
Daniel: Okay, you know--
Jennifer: No, I wasn't myself, Daniel.
Daniel: Stop, you don't have to explain to me, you really don't, stop! Stop. If I remember correctly, this "you dating both of us," that was my idea. It really was. So, in theory, you know, sounded okay. In practice, not so much, really.
Jennifer: So you--you're giving up on me?
Jennifer: Good. Good, 'cause I am in no way ready to give up on you.
Bo: Yeah, he's six years old. Got dark, curly hair, on the longish side. Kind of pale skin. He was wearing a plaid and blue and white shirt. [Whispering] His pants?
Sami: Uh, uh, blue. No, no, they were gray.
Bo: Gray pants.
Sami: And he doesn't have his jacket. Grandma called me to tell me that the police found his... they found his jacket at the pub.
Bo: Okay, he doesn't have a jacket on, so he should be easy to spot. Right, keep me in the loop. Thanks.
Sami: Who was that?
Bo: I've called every P.D. In a 25-mile radius.
Sami: Look, a boy just... he's probably really cold. He...
Roman: Sami, are you sure you can do this? I'm worried about you.
Sami: Yes. Yes, I'm gonna do this. Because I'm gonna be strong. I have to be strong for him.
Rafe: Just call me the second that you hear anything. Anything. Okay.
Carrie: Any news?
Rafe: Oh, I... nothing yet.
Austin: What about the guy with the rifle?
Rafe: Well, the F.B.I.'S got some leads. Nothing's panned out yet, but, uh...we're waiting for a report from ballistics.
Carrie: I just asked for a continuance and a change of venue. And, I mean, the judge has to rule in our favor. This I unbelievable.
Rafe: How's John doing?
Carrie: Terrible. He feels totally responsible. Marlena's trying to convince him that it's not his fault.
Sami: That it's not his fault? Are you kidding me? None of this would have happened if he hadn't come back to Salem. My kids wouldn't be shot at and my son wouldn't be missing if it were not for John Black!
Rafe: She doesn't really mean that.
Sami: The hell I don't! None of this would be happening if it were not for John.
Marlena: You remember, don't you? That I can't live without you?
John: You're not gonna talk me out of this.
Marlena: John... your family doesn't need you in jail--your family needs you to fight. Don't you do that. Don't you walk away from me. Listen to me. We have survived so much. Separation, sickness... Stefano's craziness, and by god, we will survive this!
John: Aren't you sick and tired of living your life like this because of me?
Marlena: This was not your fault.
John: And you're so sure because...
Marlena: Because I know you.
John: And we both know that my memory is shot. I'm having these flashes. Who's to say I wasn't in that cafe in paris?
Marlena: You were set up!
John: You've seen the prosecution's case.
Marlena: Carrie doesn't buy it, neither does Rafe.
John: Carrie works for me now...and now her job is to enter a guilty plea. Look at this. "I love you, granddad." Little Johnny is missing because he came to the pub to give this to me. I've had enough. I'm gonna stop this right now before it goes any further.
Sami: What, my son is missing, but I still shouldn't say anything about the great saint John?
Carrie: Sami, I know how you feel...
Sami: No, you don't! You don't have children. You don't know how I feel! I chose to take them there. I knew in my gut it was the wrong thing to do, and I did it anyway! Because everyone was telling me it was the right thing to do.
Carrie: It was the right thing to do.
Sami: How can you look me in the eye and say that after what just happened?
Roman: Sami, your mom needed you. She needed to see you and the kids.
Sami: No, she didn't. She wanted a public display of support for John.
Roman: No. No, it was more than that.
Sami: John isn't even our family! We all remember that, right? That he's not actually related to us? And that this is another terrible thing that has happened because of him.
Carrie: That is not true.
Sami: Just do me a favor and let John know that I hope he pays for what he has done.
Carrie: Oh, wait, Rafe, I... I think that I should do this.
Marlena: John... what is Carrie meant to do with this witness she has in protective custody? The one who can make the case for you. What, just send him home?
John: Doc... all that guy can do is testify that he saw me in a clinic in Switzerland when a picture was supposedly taken of me in a cafe in paris. That's all she's got. You've seen the prosecution witness list. One way or another, I'm going away.
Marlena: Listen to me. This morning, you were ready to fight. I know that. I know. What happened was tragic and terrifying. But you can't base a decision on fear.
John: Sweetheart... you know how much I love you for believing in me. That love has rescued me so many times, but now...I am the one who is gonna be doing the rescuing. If this were just me, yeah, I would stay here and I would fight. But my family's in the crosshairs now. And I'm not gonna put them on the line while I sit there day after day, for god knows how long in this trial, and still wind up being guilty.
John: Stop. I know what I have to do.
Sami: They won't let me go in. They won't let me go in because I might disturb the crime scene. My son could be in there!
Carrie: Sami, Sami, they have looked in every corner of the pub. If he was in there, they would have found him.
Sami: But this is the last place that I saw him. And I always told him that if he's ever lost or hurt or scared, he should stay in one place, because I will come get him. I promised him! Where is he?
Carrie: Sami... I wish I knew. I'm so sorry.
Sami: I know you are. I just have to find him. I just have to find...Johnny.
Carrie: Well...one good thing about being part of the Brady family--when it comes to law enforcement, we are more hooked up, okay? And Johnny is a Brady. They'll find him. No, no, no. I wanna tell you, because Marlena wanted me to find you to let you know that she's worried.
Sami: Oh, really? So worried that she's out looking for him? Oh, no, she's not, is she? 'Cause she's with John. Just like always.
Carrie: Sami, come on, you know Marlena loves you.
Sami: I know that my son is missing! I know that I can count on EJ DiMera more than I can my own mother, because I know that she loves John more than anything else!
Carrie: You know what? She just feels like John doesn't have anyone else. It's not because she doesn't love you or that she's not scared to death about Johnny.
Sami: Carrie, love is what you do, it's not what you say. And you know what she does? She stands by John's side. She always has. She chose him years ago over the family. She is still doing it today. And I hope, I swear to god, I hope he rots in prison for the rest of his life!
Carrie: Even if he's innocent?
Sami: I have to go, Carrie. I have to go find my son.
Austin: Hey. How'd it go?
Carrie: Not good.
[Cell phone ringing]
Carrie: Man. [Sighs] The judge is ready to rule.
Daniel: Any more?
Jennifer: Uh, no. Last one.
Daniel: Ah, all right. What made you decide to get all this stuff out?
Jennifer: Uh, hope just came by this morning, and we thought we would just go through everything.
Daniel: Well...any more surprises?
Jennifer: Uh, no. She's gonna just, uh... go through it with a fine-tooth comb.
Daniel: Hmm. Well, I'm glad she started this project.
Jennifer: Really? Are you really glad?
Daniel: Well, knowledge is power.
Jennifer: I think that was very sweet of you to give aunt Maggie away at her wedding.
Daniel: Well, we'd just gotten the DNA results back. She asked me. I thought it was the right thing to do. And I realized that, you know, this has turned her world upside down as well. And, fortunately, I could offer some insight as to discovering, you know, you had a child out there you didn't know about. Seems to...run in the family.
Jennifer: Yeah, and what about your dad? You thought maybe he wasn't your biological dad? Are you gonna follow up with that?
Daniel: Uh, no. No way. No, I just found out that I had a mother... well, she wasn't even my mother. The woman who raised me, you know, wasn't related to me. So no, no. I've had enough surprises for now.
Rafe: All right, well, thank you for letting me know. Call me as soon as you hear anything else, will you? Gotta go.
Sami: Hey! Rafe... they haven't seen him. No one here has seen him.
Sami: So who was on the phone?
Rafe: That was Tim. The bureau's about to get the initial ballistics report from the shooter.
Sami: Okay. Okay.
Rafe: You and Carrie work things out?
Sami: No, no. She wants me to understand why Marlena is still with John. And we're not gonna work that out.
Rafe: All right.
Rafe: You eaten anything?
Rafe: You need to eat something.
Sami: I'll eat when we find Johnny. Come on.
Nicole: I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but I get what Sami is talking about. I mean, John came back to Salem when he was about to be arrested. If he hadn't, Johnny would be safe and sound right now.
EJ: If anything happens to Johnny, I'm never gonna be able to forgive myself.
Nicole: EJ, I know you're worried about him, but... how is any of this your fault?
Officer: The initial ballistics report from the pub. Just came in.
Roman: All right, thank you, officer.
Bo: "Due east." So he was on the pier when he was shooting at the pub.
Roman: Yeah, they're trying to get a make on the shell casings to pin down a weapon.
[Cell phone rings]
Brady: Yeah, Brady here. Well, you think it's him? All right, we're on our way.
Roman: State police are in pursuit of a suspect. He ditched his car. He's on foot near the task force.
Nicole: EJ, what are you talking about? How is any of this your fault? Did you have something to do with what happened today?
EJ: No, look, I just meant... it's my fault that I gave Samantha full custody of Johnny and Sidney. Nicole, please, come on. My son is missing.
Nicole: I know, but what happened to letting the police take the lead on this?
EJ: I tried that.
Nicole: For what, about a half an hour?
EJ: Nicole, Giovanni's life is on the line.
Nicole: I know...
EJ: You understand?
Nicole: Yes, but what are you gonna do?
EJ: What do you mean, what am I gonna do? I'm gonna call in my operatives.
Nicole: Oh...great. Great. The public. I love finding out that you have your own militia that operates outside the law.
EJ: My son is missing.
Nicole: I... I know, but...
Jennifer: Um, you know, all I can tell you is that... because of our kids, I feel like I need to help Jack walk through this, that's all.
Daniel: Yeah, and you just-- you have no idea where it's gonna take you.
Jennifer: I mean, if I had known what Jack was getting involved in with this whole story, I never... I never would have thought that he would have left me at... but then, I never...would have met you. And you wouldn't be living like this right now.
Daniel: Which would have been great. I mean, because...life since I met you has been so terrible.
Jennifer: Please don't. Please.
Daniel: [Whispers] Hey.
Jennifer: [Whispers] What?
Daniel: I know, uh, we're scheduled for our date today. And I've been thinking that, um...
Daniel: We just need to be neutral.
Daniel: Okay? We need for me. I just, this is something that I need for me.
Daniel: You do understand?
Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah, I understand.
Daniel: You do?
Daniel: I'll see you. [Whispers] I will see you.
Jennifer: [Crying] Oh, god.
Sami: Just don't understand where he could be when we have checked everywhere, everywhere that he knows and he's...
Rafe: Hey... try not to panic.
Sami: I can't not panic! Our son is missing! Johnny! Johnny!
Rafe: Hear that?
[Cell phone ringing]
Sami: Is that an ambulance?
Rafe: Police sirens. They found the shooter.
Marlena: Word on Johnny?
Carrie: Not yet.
Carrie: But I did speak with Sami.
Marlena: How is she?
Carrie: She's trying to hold it together.
Marlena: Of course.
Carrie: And that's not the only bit of bad news that I have. Both of the motions that I filed were denied.
Carrie: I can't believe it.
Marlena: Someone tried to shoot John, and the judge won't move the venue?
Carrie: They won't even grant me continuance, and we're reconvening tomorrow morning.
John: Don't worry about it.
Carrie: But it's not right, John.
John: Doesn't matter. I'm pleading guilty.
Carrie: You can't--you can't do that.
Austin: John, if you think you're innocent... why on earth would you plead guilty?
John: It's the only way I know how to--
Carrie: John, it's not the only way.
John: And I expect you as my attorney to go to the judge tomorrow and tell him there's not gonna be a trial.
Roman: All right, commissioner Brady. Lauretano?
Officer: You know him?
Rafe: What, that's him?
Sami: What have you done with my son? Where the hell is my little boy?
EJ: Where's my son?
Roman: I don't think he knows anything about Johnny's disappearance.
Sami: What if there's a reason Johnny can't get back to us?
EJ: I'm going to find him if it is the last thing that I do.
