Vivian: Oh... [Gasps] Gus. Gus, Gus, Gus. This has been the most wonderful, beautiful evening. And the way I orchestrated Carly's life. And managed with one--yet subtle, one-two punch to get her to walk in on that boring Jennifer Horton in a carnal embrace with that "surfer dude" Jonas that Carly's lusting after. And then she went reeling off to the pier where I just happened to have planted my son's number one drug dealer. It was sort of like panic in needle park.

Gus: Oh, I'm sorry, were you talking?

Vivian: Oh, Gus, for heaven's sakes, you can't be in on every plan that I have.

Gus: Well, since a certain Australian came to town I seem to be nothing more than an amanuensis.

Vivian: Gus, Carly is about to break--crack like glass. She's in agony. Can't you be happy for me?

Daniel: There you are.

Carly: Heh.

Daniel: You know, I just wanted to make sure that we're, you know, on the same page here.

Carly: Of course. Look, I don't know where Jennifer got the idea that we were anything more than friends or that I would feel anything more for you than that.

Daniel: Yeah, well, it's understandable. I am irresistible.

Carly: Mm.

Daniel: But, you know, you gotta know that you are something extremely special. You gotta--I mean, you know that, right? Any guy would be out of their mind, if they know you, not to fall for you.

Carly: All right, you don't have to say that, come on.

Daniel: What? I'm just--I'm just telling the truth.

Carly: You're being very sweet and gallant, but you don't have to say that, okay? You don't have to lie to me.

Abigail: Hi.

Jennifer: Hey. Uh, how was your movie?

Abigail: Well, it could have been great if he wasn't groaning through the entire thing.

Chad: Uh, it was dumb.

Abigail: It was not dumb. It was a romantic comedy. It was funny and light.

Chad: It was dumb. All right, listen to this--the whole movie was about this girl freaking out because she thought her boyfriend wanted to get with her girlfriend, when in fact he was just being nice. Mrs. Horton, the girl wasn't 12. She was a senior in high school.

Jennifer: So you thought that her behavior was immature?

Chad: Don't get me started, all right? She does this matchmaking thing to prove that she's right. And then arranges for the guy and the friend to meet at some restaurant or something, I--

Abigail: Okay, it was like

Chad: It was like stupid.

Abigail: Oh. Yeah?

Chad: I'm just--all right.

Jennifer: Sadly, I think you're probably right.

Abigail: Hey, could you, uh-- can you grab us some sodas? Can you please?

Chad: Yeah, sure. Mrs. Horton, you want anything?

Jennifer: No, I'm good. Thank you, Chad.

Abigail: You didn't think it was funny.

Jennifer: Mm. It just hit home, that's all.

Abigail: You've been crying again, huh? Mom, is this about Daniel?

Hope: I know I asked you this before. I'm asking you to look again. Fine, sorry to bother you.

Bo: Hope... you gotta face it, it's over.

Hope: No, no, I will never accept that EJ and Stefano got away with this.

Bo: I don't like it any more than you do. But you do have to accept it.

Melanie: Sleep well. Jerk. EJ, can you hear me? It's gonna be okay; I'm gonna take care of you, okay?

Taylor: You think that EJ has given up on life?

Lexie: I don't know, Taylor, but the idea scares me.

Stefano: How is Elvis doing?

Lexie: He's stable. But I'm worried about his mental state.

Stefano: Well, you should be. He signed away the rights to his children tonight.

Taylor: What?

Stefano: That's right. Now he has nothing.

[Alarm buzzing]

Lexie: EJ!

Daniel: Carly, I was not lying.

Carly: No, that just--that came out wrong. I'm just saying that what you're telling me is a little demeaning, you know?

Daniel: No, what is? What is demeaning? I don't--

Carly: Well, this patronizing thing you've gotten into, you know, "oh, Carly, any guy would be so lucky to have you." Or whatever the hell you said.

Daniel: Well, that's not what I said.

Carly: Well, you know, a version of it.

Daniel: Okay, well, even if that is what I said, how is that patronizing, really? I'm just telling you what I think, how I feel.

Carly: We've gotten to the point where we're pretty straightforward with each other. I don't need cheering up or pep talks, Daniel.

Daniel: Okay, well, I'm not giving you a little pep talk or cheering you up, it was just... you know what it is? You know what it is? I just think you need reminding that you are a terrific woman.

Carly: [Laughs] Terrifically high-maintenance, right?

Daniel: Okay, stop, don't do that--why are you doing that?

Carly: Look, when a friend thinks that you need to be constantly reminded, you know--

Daniel: I don't think I said "constantly."

Carly: Well, sometimes reminded that you're terrific, lovable, adorable, it's a little burdensome, don't you think?

Daniel: No, I really don't think, and I'm starting to hate the fact that you just keep coming down on yourself.

Carly: But I'm so good at it.

Daniel: Okay. Okay, maybe you need to stop being so good at it.

Carly: [Laughs]

Daniel: Maybe you just need to start working on being good at being a little more positive, self-respectful. Start understanding that you--

Carly: I'm an extraordinary, accomplished, capable woman with a body that just won't end. Yeah, I get it.

Daniel: Okay.

Carly: Uh, listen, can we just stop talking about me? I'm tired of talking about myself, I'm tired of thinking about myself--it's me, me, me, me all the time and who cares?

Daniel: I do.

Carly: I know you do. And I'm so glad you're my friend.

Daniel: Always, always.

Carly: I know.

Daniel: Okay? So I should-- I guess I should go find Jennifer and tell her that she was wrong about what's going on here.

Carly: Gosh, so wrong.

Daniel: Yeah.

Carly: You can also tell her that, you know, it's a little upsetting for me and a little embarrassing.

Daniel: Sorry--sorry about that.

Carly: The main thing is that, um, I don't wanna come between the two of you.

Melanie: Hey, you guys.

Daniel: Hey!

Carly: Hey.

Daniel: There you are, how's EJ doing?

Melanie: Stable. He's not very responsive though, so I don't think he's gonna remember a whole lot.

Carly: Well, that's good.

Daniel: Yeah.

Melanie: Yeah. I have a good idea. Um, do you guys wanna go get, like, a family dinner? It's for all members of the hospital staff, so we could have a, um, discounted meal here or we could pop for someplace big and go to a place where we can actually eat the food.

Carly: You know something? That is the best invitation I've had in a long, long time.

Daniel: Yeah.

[Monitor beeping]

Melanie: EJ, can you hear me? It's gonna be okay; I'm gonna take care of you, okay?

[Monitor beeping]

[Heavy breathing]

Stefano: So what just happened?

Lexie: He had some sort of episode.

Stefano: What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Lexie: Would you ratchet it down? I know he's your son, but he's my brother too, okay?

Stefano: I know. I'm sorry.

Lexie: He's--he's doing better.

Stefano: Well, why don't I sit with him?

Lexie: No, no, no. Not until he's stabilized. Did he really sign away his rights to Johnny and Sydney?

Stefano: Heh, I can't imagine anything hurting him more.

Lexie: Yeah, I know. Come on, why don't you sit down? Come on.

Roman: I would like you to meet one Ellis Pendleton, a prince of a fellow. He just rolled a homeless guy, breaking his arm and, uh, clearing about $6 in the transaction.

Ellis: He's a friend. He owed it to me.

Roman: Yeah, uh, Hope? Would you mind processing him, I wanna go to the E.R. And, uh, see how his "friend" is doing.

Hope: Shouldn't have broken that arm. Raises the ante considerably.

Ellis: I'm not worried. In this town you can set your husband on fire and get away with it--

Hope: Get in the chair and shut up! I'm not taking any of your crap, got it?

Abigail: I get that you wanna help Carly, I get it. But if you're attracted to Daniel and he's attracted to you--

Jennifer: Just lower your voice a little bit?

Abigail: Okay.

Jennifer: Please?

Abigail: I'm sorry. Look, if you guys are into each other, then you can't just pretend that you're not.

Jennifer: Listen to me. Carly has a serious drug problem. I'm not gonna be off having dates. Her situation is a little bit more important than mine right now.

Abigail: Mom, if Carly can't get clean because you and Daniel are dating, then guess what? Carly's not gonna get clean, period.

Jennifer: Oh, so you go on the internet and you read all this stuff and now you know everything, right?

Abigail: Look, I know that you care about Carly and you would do anything to help her. But this isn't what she needs.

Jennifer: It doesn't matter. This is what I'm doing. This is my plan and I am sticking to it. So while she's going through whatever it is that she's going through, I am not gonna do anything that could make her backslide. Do you understand me?

Abigail: Yeah, okay. So what does dr. Jonas think about this?

Vivian: It's very naughty of you to pout, Gus. But since Carly's probably in a drug-induced stupor, well, it makes me think of Ellen Burstyn in requiem for a dream. Remember when she thought she was being attacked by her fridge? Did you see that?

Gus: No.

Vivian: Oh, marvelous film. Anyway, the thing is I'm feeling in a wonderful mood and very forgiving. [Gasps] Do you remember when you found that signed picture of Joan Collins online?

Gus: Oh, don't toy with me, Madame.

Vivian: Oh, no, but it's a gift. I'm giving it to you. We have to celebrate.

Gus: Really?

Vivian: Yes. [Laughter]

Daniel: I told you.

Melanie: You can't find-- [Laughter]

Daniel: I did it. [Laughter]

Melanie: Ow!

Daniel: You all right?

Vivian: Damn it! She was supposed to be having the DTs, not clam chowder!

EJ: I had a dream earlier... about when I was beaten up.

Taylor: You dream about that? But I, uh... I thought you couldn't remember.

EJ: I had a dream... it was not all a dream.

Taylor: What?

EJ: Are you a dream? Are you really here?

Taylor: I'm really here.

EJ: Why?

Taylor: Tell me about your dream.

EJ: There was a woman on the pier. I don't know who or why.

Taylor: Maybe she was your guardian angel.

EJ: She was a little late. You didn't answer my question. Why are you here?

Taylor: Just came to get a key from Lexie.

EJ: It was a coincidence then.

Taylor: EJ, did you... did you really give up your children?

EJ: It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Taylor: Why? Why, after everything you went through to keep them? Why did you give them up now?

Roman: You know what, pal? I wouldn't mouth off to her if I were you. It almost never works out.

Bo: Hey, roman, uh, do me a favor. Take him down to booking on your way out. I'll send the paperwork down later.

Roman: All right, gotcha. Stand up, let's go.

Ellis: That was brutality. She attacked me.

Roman: Okay, you know what? Tell everybody in your cell that--because you just rolled an old homeless guy and got your butt kicked by a woman. That'll make you a lot of new friends. Let's go.

Hope: You didn't have to do that. I was under control.

Bo: No, you weren't. You're upset about the DiMera case and you wanted to take it out on that guy.

Hope: No, what I wanted to do is I wanted to take it out on EJ and Stefano, that's what I want.

Bo: You've been at this too many hours, hope. I need you focused on the cases we're actually pursuing. So, um, get outta here. Take a break, clear your head.

Hope: I can't. I have to keep going.

Bo: You can say that to your husband, but not the police commissioner. This burns me up too, but our priority right now is keeping you on the force. What if it wasn't just roman in here witnessing that? What if the D.A. Was here, or one of DiMera's dirty cops?

Hope: You know, I did know who was in here. If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go clear my head. [Clears throat]

Daniel: Here, no--yes.

Melanie: That's for me.

Daniel: No, no, no, no. [Laughs]

Daniel: Jeez, what's wrong with you?

Carly: Nothing.

Melanie: Ha! All right, so you and Jennifer, you're gonna reschedule, yeah?

Daniel: Aah, you know, I'm not really so sure about that. Uh, we're just both kinda-- just busy.

Melanie: Just busy.

Daniel: Mm-hmm.

Melanie: I stepped in it, I did. Touchy subject, yeah.

Daniel: No, no, no. No, you didn't, no. I mean--well, you know, there's just really this little, um, just a little misunderstanding--

Melanie: I'm just gonna stop you there. I hate talking to men about things that are important. Can you explain to me what misunderstanding means?

Carly: Uh...

Daniel: Well, you know, maybe men say things vaguely so women will change the subject.

Hope: Melanie, hi. Carly, Daniel, sorry to interrupt.

Daniel: Oh, it's okay.

Hope: Can I talk to you for a minute?

Daniel: No, no--yeah, absolutely, you know? Interrupt away. Yeah, just take all the time you need.

Melanie: Yeah, no, I'm gonna talk to her but then I'm gonna come back and I'm gonna get this out of you.

Daniel: Mm.

Hope: Sorry to interrupt.

Melanie: I'm gonna get this out of him. I'm gonna get this out of him.

Daniel: Mm-hmm. [Sighs] Could you please make your daughter understand that men don't like to talk about things like this with their daughters? Please?

Carly: I can't do that because she loves you and she wants to know everything.

Daniel: Sweet, that's great. Now at the risk of, uh, not only talking about it but bringing up the, uh, dreaded subject of you. Um, can I ask you a question?

Carly: Yeah, shoot.

Daniel: Well, I don't know, it just occurs to me that since you're so adamant that Jennifer's assumption that, you know, you wanna be in a relationship with me is [Whistles] Out in left field--

Carly: Well, it is completely out there.

Daniel: I know, but why then--why would she tell me that? Do you think she's using this stuff about you and I to, I don't know, to let me down gently?

EJ: Why did I give them up? Well, you know me, it's kind of a bottom line thing, really. They seemed like a great deal of expenditure, time, money, without any real guarantee of a return.

Taylor: I know that you love them.

EJ: Well, me loving somebody doesn't seem to work out very well for them, does it? Maybe I realized that it was the best thing for Johnny and Sydney. Maybe I did it to impress you. That's certainly what my father thinks. Did it work? Are you impressed?

Taylor: I'm just... really, really sad.

EJ: Well, that makes two of us.

Stefano: Taylor. I've been waiting for you. Uh, we need to have a talk. About Elvis.

Bo: Yeah, get back to me on that tomorrow. Thanks. I thought you were going to the hospital.

Roman: I sent miller.

Bo: Aah. Came back to check up on hope, didn't you?

Roman: Where is she?

Bo: I told her to get out of here, clear her head.

Roman: Okay, that was a good idea. I do believe I convinced our friend downstairs though that it would not be in his best interest to tell anyone what happened.

Bo: Good, thanks for that. This DiMera--you know, them getting off scot-free, it's eating away at her.

Roman: It's the worst part of being a cop. You worried about her?

Bo: Well, there's a couple of other things, you know. The DA is a bit ticked off because we went over his head to get her reinstated. Internal affairs, not an easygoing bunch at the best of times, they're breathing down my neck. Watching her like a hawk. Watching us like a hawk.

Roman: So the DiMeras walked and she's now a target. No wonder she's on edge.

Bo: Yeah, well, she doesn't know about this internal affairs thing. I'd like to keep it that way.

Hope: Are you sure? I mean, are you 100% positive that EJ didn't say anything that night that connects him or Stefano to hiring that impostor?

Melanie: Hope, he was unconscious.

Hope: [Sighs] I know, I'm grasping at straws.

Melanie: No, I know, I just-- if I even admitted he said something then I'd have to admit I was there and that I know Brady's the one that beat him up. He didn't say anything that's gonna help you guys, I'm sorry.

Carly: No, I don't think she's trying to find some way to let you down gently.

Daniel: Ugh, I just need to-- I need to ask her. I need to talk to her and I-- however, I don't know how she's gonna react when I tell her that I discussed this with you.

Carly: Well, knowing Jennifer, she's gonna read you the riot act.

Daniel: Uh, will I live?

Carly: She'll get over it.

Daniel: Yeah? [Laughs] Okay, I just--I don't know, it would be different if there was just any truth to this.

Carly: Yeah, no, exactly. I have no idea where she got the idea.

Jennifer: Uh, there's something that I need to tell you, and I don't think you're gonna be very happy about it.

Abigail: Great, can't hardly wait.

Jennifer: I need to give Daniel a reason why I can't see him anymore, and I can't break my promise to Carly. So I need to come up with--

Abigail: A lie?

Jennifer: No, a plausible explanation.

Abigail: Mom, the real explanation isn't plausible.

Jennifer: Well, I am gonna tell him that there is a possibility that your father is gonna come back into our lives.

Abigail: [Laughs] You ever hear the one about the tangled web?

Jennifer: I wasn't even going to tell you, but I thought maybe if you heard that I said that-- I didn't want you to get your hopes up.

Abigail: What is going on with you, mom? Did you have a lobotomy recently that I didn't know about?

Jennifer: That's Daniel, hold on. Hey.

Daniel: Jennifer, I need to see you. It's important.

Jennifer: Uh, I'm at the Cheatin' heart right now. Would you be able to come here?

Daniel: Yeah, I'll be right there.

Abigail: Mom, don't do this, okay? You could seriously, seriously screw things up with Daniel. And it's not going to help Carly at all.

Jennifer: Just stop, okay?

Chad: All right, here's your soda. Uh, what's wrong? Looks pretty serious in here.

Abigail: Yup, just, uh, mother-daughter issues.

Chad: Oh.

Abigail: She won't listen to a word I say.

Gus: I just heard that dr. Jonas is on his way over to talk with ms. Deveraux.

Vivian: He just left. Carly seems fine.

Stefano: Why don't we sit down like civilized people, huh? Sit. I'm, uh, pretty sure that, uh, you are here because you have some feelings for Elvis. So I am... am counting on two things. Number one. That you are a sane, rational young woman.

Taylor: Oh, not when it comes to you.

Stefano: And number two. That you only want the best for Elvis. So... my question is... what would it take for me to set you up somewhere else?

Taylor: Are you buying me off?

Stefano: Well, why not? I mean, it's better than the alternative. [Laughs]

Taylor: Are you threatening me?

Stefano: Oh, come on, get off your high horse, eh? Just take the money and leave. There is nothing, nothing to hold you here.

Roman: Do you really think you can keep hope from finding out about this thing with internal affairs?

Bo: Well, I'm gonna try--

Hope: Hey, guys. I, uh... I've had my time-out. What's going on?

Bo: All's good, uh, roman talked Pendleton into keeping quiet about what happened here.

Hope: Hey, roman, I'm really sorry you had to clean up after me.

Roman: Hey, come on. You've covered for me more than a few times, all right? I'll see you two later.

Bo: Later, man, thanks.

Hope: It won't happen again. I promise--I'm sorry.

Bo: I know.

Hope: [Sighs] It's just... this thing with the DiMeras, Bo.

Bo: I know.

Hope: I mean, they do what they do and they never pay for it. They just walk. And I keep asking myself, "what is the point? What is the point of--"

Bo: What is the point? I got an answer to that. Come on.

Stefano: I believe that you have destroyed my son's spirit, hm? You did more than just kill this man. You've made him into something that he is not. So please... go away, so I can revive him.

Taylor: I don't take orders from you.

Stefano: Do it now and I'll pay for it. You wait, and I will ensure that you'll relocate.

Taylor: Oh, now the threats.

Stefano: Yes.

Taylor: I'm not really sure how to phrase this, Stefano. Go to hell.

Lexie: Well, did any one particular thing happen to upset you? I'm looking for some sort of trigger to the episode.

EJ: I had a dream... about the night I was beaten up.

Lexie: Was it a dream? Or a memory?

EJ: It's hard to tell.

Lexie: Anything new?

EJ: It was vague, you know. I thought I remembered a woman being there.

Lexie: Anyone specific?

EJ: Not yet.

Melanie: Well, I hope everything works out with Jennifer, 'cause I don't wanna have to hate her.

Carly: No, honey, don't hate her, please. She's a good person and she's a really great friend.

Melanie: All right, that's a solid endorsement.

Carly: Well, if she's having trouble with the relationship, maybe--she just got divorced, you know?

Melanie: So did dad.

Carly: Well, then maybe it's just too soon for both of them, right?

Melanie: Yeah, well, it kinda sounds like you don't want them together.

Carly: I didn't say that. I didn't say that--no, I'm just trying to understand why it isn't working with them. One minute they're, like, really happy, and the next it's just fizzled out.

Melanie: Yeah, I know. Well, hopefully it's not permanent because she makes him really happy.

Carly: Yeah, listen, um, I gotta run. I got some things to do.

Melanie: Great. Are you okay?

Carly: Yeah, fine.

Melanie: Are you sure? 'Cause you just got weird on me for--

Carly: Listen, I already paid so if you want some dessert or something you just help yourself, okay?

Melanie: Okay, but--

Carly: Come here, sweetheart, bye.

Melanie: But mom--

Carly: I'll see you.

Chad: You know, I still don't know why we gotta leave--

Abigail: Hi, dr. Manning.

Carly: Excuse me.

Chad: Whoa, hello.

Abigail: Hey, Melanie, is your mom okay?

Melanie: Yeah, I thought she was. Now I'm not so sure.

Daniel: Ah, there you are. Hey, uh, thank you by the way for seeing me.

Jennifer: Hey.

Daniel: Hey.

Jennifer: I was just gonna call you actually.

Daniel: Why would you do that? I mean, if you knew I was on my way, so it--

Jennifer: Yeah.

Daniel: Wow, is that, uh, is that a picture of Jack?

Jennifer: Yeah. That is--that's actually what I wanted to talk to you about. We've been in touch again.

Daniel: Wow, really?

Jennifer: Mm-hmm. And that's the reason that I've been backing away from you, so I just wanted to tell you that, you know, to be fair.

Daniel: Oh, yeah--no, sure, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, I, um... what, he just call you? Or did he write--

Jennifer: Yeah, you know, last couple days.

Daniel: Yeah, okay, cool. Well, that's, um... wow, so does that make you happy?

Jennifer: Uh, that's a strong word.

Daniel: It is, yeah.

Jennifer: I would--I would say hopeful.

Daniel: Yeah. So, um, I guess that thing you told me about Carly wasn't really true.

Jennifer: No, it was. It was, somewhat. But, you know, this is the real reason so I just--I'm trying to be honest with you.

Daniel: Sure, no, no. I mean, honestly, it's a good thing.

Jennifer: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Really, it is. In fact, that's why I wanted to see you, 'cause I really wanted to tell you that, um... uh... no, I broke my promise. And I talked to Carly about what you said.

Jennifer: Wait, what?

Daniel: No, I just thought--

Jennifer: Why would you do something like that? I finished back to school shopping and won't get a

Jennifer: I can't believe you did this.

Daniel: What do you mean, you can't believe--I just needed to know the truth, that's all.

Jennifer: Did you think I was lying?

Daniel: Didn't you just admit that you were lying? I mean, this is really about Jack, you just said.

Jennifer: You have ruined everything.

Daniel: No, no, no, I didn't ruin--

Jennifer: Yes.

Daniel: No, I fixed everything. No, Jennifer, you were wrong. No, Carly doesn't feel that way for me at all. She doesn't. I mean, we're just friends with a kid; that's it.

Jennifer: I gotta go. I gotta go.

Daniel: What? Well, that worked out really well.

Melanie: I mean, I don't wanna freak you out, but I think my mom thinks there's something wrong with your mom.

Abigail: Really?

Melanie: Yeah, I mean, she defends her and she says they're friends and everything, but then she looks kind of weird when she talks about her.

Abigail: Do you really think this is about my mom? 'Cause I mean, your mom's been through a lot lately and maybe she's just stressed out in general. But, I mean, even just now she seemed like she was really on edge.

Melanie: Well, I don't really know any surgeons that aren't on edge, except maybe my dad. But even then, he's--

[Cell phone rings]

Melanie: I gotta go back to the hospital, sorry, I'll just-- I'll call you later.

Abigail: Okay, yeah.

Melanie: Bye, Chad.

Chad: Bye. Now what were you gonna tell her about her mother?

[Cell phone buzzing]

Vivian: Gus?

Gus: Latest development... dr. Jonas showed up, talked to ms. Deveraux for less than a minute. Then she got up and stormed out.

Vivian: What the hell is going on with those three?

Carly: [Crying]

Taylor: You know what? I may have lost EJ, but you're losing him too. The fact that he gave up his children--it means his conscience is at work. And if he keeps listening to his conscience, that won't go over very well for you.

Stefano: All right. Just go easy, my dear, all right? That's a little petty. You don't wanna lose your standing as the most morally superior person in the world, do you?

Taylor: I am not quite what you think I am.

Stefano: Mm. No... I'm sure there's a great deal about you I don't know.

Melanie: Okay.

Chad: So you're not gonna tell me what all that was about, with Melanie's mom?

Abigail: Mm... nope. Mm-mm.

Chad: Oh, okay, I get it. It's because you're mad at me for making fun of the movie tonight.

Abigail: No. No, I'm mad at me for making us see that movie.

Chad: Okay, listen, it's not the end of the world that I had to sit through some stupid movie, okay?

Abigail: Yeah, I know, but... I'm mad at myself because I didn't even wanna see it in the first place. I just... I don't know, I thought you would think it was weird that I would have rather seen a movie about aliens trying to destroy L.A.

Chad: Okay, whoa. Wait a minute, wait a second. This is, uh--you like movies like that?

Abigail: Dude, I watch die

hard when I get depressed. And I genuinely cry every single time when the cop discovers that he can kill again.

Chad: I feel very close to you at this moment in time.

Abigail: Oh, really?

Chad: Mm-hmm.

Abigail: Because I kind of feel like a jerk that I made you sit through a stupid movie just because I didn't wanna seem un-ladylike or whatever.

Chad: Mm.

Abigail: But, you know, you were really nice about it. That's what I love about you.

Chad: I-I'm sorry, "love?"

Abigail: Uh... you know, love is a very general word, which has so many meanings.

Chad: Sure. So--so you're backing down then. You don't love me?

Abigail: Um... I'm not really sure what I feel right now... but I wouldn't mind exploring the possibilities.

Chad: Well, you know what? Neither would I.

[Cell phone rings]

Stefano: I told Alexandra that you were dangerous, and I was right.

Taylor: You think I'm dangerous. You think EJ is in that hospital room because of me? Why don't you look in the mirror? Why don't you take a look at what you have done to him?

Stefano: Be careful.

Taylor: You drag him into your schemes. You tell him that you're gods who can play with people's lives. But you can't keep him from getting beaten up like some foolish drunk coming home from his bowling league.

Stefano: You're right. I was not able to stop that. But trust me. I will find out who did this to my son. And when I do, that person will wish they were never born.

Melanie: Welcome back, EJ. What's wrong?

EJ: I want a drink of water.

Melanie: Okay. If you let go of my arm I will, uh--I will get you a glass of water. Okay. Not really into the whole, um, that whole "please and thank you" thing, are we? No? Okay. You just, uh--you just let me know if you need anything.

EJ: That was you. That was you on the pier.

Kate: You're not gonna say one word against Stefano in his own house, all right?

Gabi: Does it bother you that he's gay?
