Sami: Get off of him or I will shoot you!

Rafe #2: [Breathing heavily] What are you doing, Sami? Give it to me. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay. Let's not do anything dumb here.

Sami: Look, I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I swear to God if either of you comes towards me I will shoot.

Rafe #2: [Chuckles] No you won't, come on. Sami, give me the gun.

Rafe: Come on, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm not here to hurt anybody. I just want answers just like you do, all right?

Rafe #2: Sami, you're not gonna believe this lying son-of-a-bitch, are you? Now listen, I came here to save you from him. Come on, we're in this together. We're victims.

Rafe: Sami. Sami, just give me a chance.

Rafe #2: Give me the gun. Give me--give me the gun.

Sami: No, stop, don't!

Rafe #2: Aah! [Grunting in pain] You shot me. What are you, nuts?

Sami: Just when do you stop whining?

Rafe #2: Why'd you shoot me?

Sami: Because you're a damn liar. And you're not Rafe.

Maggie: You certainly made me feel appreciated.

Victor: Treasured was the word that I used.

Maggie: That too.

Victor: And loved. Could a man with a block of ice for a heart make you feel all that?

Maggie: No.

Victor: Then what's the problem?

Maggie: Listen, when I told you that Chloe was gonna stay here, you threatened me. You said that if I did that, I wouldn't see you anymore.

Victor: Well, of course I did, I wanted to win. Didn't mean anything.

Maggie: It did to me. It told me that unless I live my life the way you want me to, that you'd play dirty. Victor, I am not gonna live my life the way you want me to. And I'm not gonna laugh when you turn that hard and cold side of yours on me just so that you can win. Victor, you and I... we just weren't mean to be.

Victor: If that's true, I'm sorrier than I could ever say.

Maggie: So am I. Oh, so am I.

Brady: I really don't wanna mix it up with you right now, Nick.

Nicole: Well, that's too bad. I mean, actually I was here a few minutes ago and I had the exquisite pleasure of seeing your arms wrapped around my sister.

Brady: Ahem. And instead of asking her what was wrong you hid out until she left. Nice.

Nicole: I already know what's wrong. My sister doesn't need me. 'Cause clearly she has your broad shoulders to cry on.

Brady: Well, thank you for noticing. And by the way, for a happily married girl you seem a little bit jealous right now.

Lexie: So you and Nicole hammered out some sort of a deal?

EJ: Ha! Hammered? The operative bloody word. If I don't stay married to Nicole, and if anything unfortunate happens to her, her lawyer has instructions to forward the evidence she collected to the relevant parties.

Lexie: Wow. She wants to stay married to you that badly.

EJ: What, me? Oh, please. It has nothing to do with me, this is about the children.

Lexie: You are such an idiot, EJ.

EJ: Thank you, Lexie. I think I needed to hear that.

Lexie: You married that pit bull Nicole. Started romancing her sister on the side. At the same time you were up to no good with father and was so sloppy about it that Nicole found out. I mean, how else would you describe yourself?

EJ: Arrogant.

Lexie: [Sighs] Well--

EJ: Brilliantly arrogant, I don't know.

Lexie: Of course, you can't tell Taylor the real reason you're staying with Nicole, because that would blow this whole image that she has of you.

EJ: You have no idea, Lexie. How hard I was gonna try to be the man that I could see in her eyes.

Lexie: You're right, I don't.

EJ: Well, you asked for an explanation, and I gave you one. I did that because you care about Taylor. So now I need you to promise me that you're not going to repeat any of that to her.

Lexie: [Sighs]

Rafe #2: You...lousy bitch! Aah!

Nicole: I am not jealous of Taylor. That is ridiculous. Brady, look, I am here for you. I care about you, I don't wanna see you get hurt.

Brady: Thank you. I'm very, very touched.

Nicole: I know Taylor better than you do. She's not this little sweetheart that everyone thinks she is.

Brady: And you're the expert on little sweethearts. Really?

Nicole: Okay, Brady, listen to me. She is a cliché. She pulls this poor little match girl act because she knows that men are suckers for it. Her eyes fill up with tears. Her jaw quivers. And then she comes up with these stories about how she's mistreated.

Brady: Stop, stop. I know what you're doing.

Nicole: Brady, look, I am telling you, I am here for you.

Brady: Thank you. I don't need any favors from you, Mrs. DiMera. And don't think you can keep me on ice in case it doesn't work out with Elvis. And furthermore, why don't you stop throwing your sister under the bus.

Nicole: That is not what I'm doing.

Brady: I know what's going on here. News Flash, you and I are done, we're over. Move on.

Sami: So, um, what'd you do with his gun?

Rafe: Put it in a drawer in the kitchen.

Sami: Great.

Rafe: That bullet barely grazed his shoulder. You're a pretty lousy shot.

Nicole: I nicked him on purpose, we can't kill him. As much as I would like to.

Rafe: How'd you know he was the one who was lying, not me?

Sami: Because every day I would look him right in the face, and I would think, he's not Rafe anymore. And then I looked at you and... and you were you. I just knew. God, I prayed every night that I would get you back. And now--and now you're back. You came back. You're--you're back.

Rafe: Yeah. I'm back. Trouble is, before today I don't ever remember seeing you.

Maggie: Oh, hi hon, it's Mom. I'm not calling to late, am I? Hold on, no, everything's fine. I just wanted to hear your voice, that's all. All right, all right, all right. I was thinking about your dad, and some other things. I just, I miss--I miss being with family, that's all. Yeah. And you know, talking to you is already making me feel so much better.

Sami: You don't remember me. You still don't.

Rafe: I'm sorry. Hey, if it makes you feel any better, you seem to be a very memorable sort of person.

Sami: [Laughter] Thank you. You know, I could tell you-- oh, God. Tell you everything if you want. I mean, before this happened I would have said that I know you better than anyone. But then, in the hospital, I mean, I was looking at this guy and... god, I just kept saying something was off. Something was off. It's because he wasn't you! He... he was...

Rafe: [Whispering] Yeah.

Sami: You were in an accident, the car accident that I told you about. You were in a car accident and, um, and I think that's when they made the switch. I mean, that's what this jerk said. They switched him with you.

Rafe: So the story he told us was true?

Sami: Yeah, mostly. Except for that it happened to you and not him.

Rafe: Oh, my God, these people, these, uh, the di--

Sami: DiMeras.

Rafe: They made him into me.

Sami: And he knew everything. I mean, he knew how you like your eggs. He knew about us, he knew everything. But Allie didn't like him. From the minute she saw him she knew. She... God, how could I not see--

Rafe: Allie? Allie?

Sami: My daughter. My daughter Allie. She--I have four kids.

Rafe: Four kids? You and I have four kids?

Sami: They're not your biological children, but they love you.

Rafe: Oh.

Sami: You gotta know they love you like crazy.

Rafe: Oh, well that's good. [Sighs] You have any idea why they switched him for me?

Sami: I think EJ, my ex-husband, and my ex-father-in-law, I think they did it to break us up. It's the only way they could, because they knew I would never leave you, not in a million years.

Rafe: One of the first things I remember is being, um, locked in a cell in somebody's basement.

Sami: Oh, my God, oh, my God.

Rafe: There was an older guy, he had this really strong accent, a beard.

Sami: Yeah, yeah, that's Stefano. That's Stefano DiMera.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, I gotta tell you, he really seemed to enjoy having me locked up in there.

Sami: Oh, I'm sure he would. And I'm gonna guess that he gave you a drug, something that would erase your long term memory.

Rafe: You don't seem surprised by that.

Sami: He's done it before, to my stepfather.

Rafe: What? This is insane, we need to call the cops.

Sami: No! No, we can't do that. We all want our kids to eat their vegetables,

Nicole: What is that supposed to mean? Is that code for something?

Brady: Yeah, yeah, it's code. It means if you came here thinking we were gonna have a bunch of drinks, then you were gonna tell me how much of a bitch your sister was, and then somehow we'd find ourselves in a hotel room. That's not gonna happen, okay?

Nicole: [Chuckling] Okay. Who is it? Is it Taylor? Because if it is her, then you'll be moving on to the psych ward, because all that girl thinks about is herself.

Brady: Leave her alone.

Nicole: Why should I?

Brady: Because, she has a right to live her life the way she wants to live it... without interference from queen interference herself.

Nicole: You're absolutely amazing. I don't know why everyone thinks she's so perfect. But you know what? My sister's a lot more like me than you think. Have a nice life.

Rafe: Sami, I don't get it. Why don't you wanna call the police?

Sami: We just can't, okay? I mean, it's like, I get it. You wanna do that. It's your instinct. You're a cop. But, I--

Rafe: I am?

Sami: Yeah.

Rafe: Oh, my God. Okay, uh, well that explains something.

Sami: What?

Rafe: No, it's just every time I walk into a room or see people, I'm just--I'm sizing up situations, and--whoa.

Sami: Before you were a cop you were a federal agent. FBI.

Rafe: Get out.

Sami: Yeah.

Rafe: Huh.

Sami: You were a great agent. You're a great cop. And you work with my--you work with my dad and my uncle, they're cops too.

Rafe: Hold on. Well, then I don't get it. All the more reason, I mean, don't you wanna see this guy arrested, and the rest of the DiMeras?

Sami: DiMeras, yes, of course I do. But my ex-husband, EJ. He's also a father of two of my children. And Johnny, Sydney... ring a bell?

Rafe: Sorry.

Sami: No, no, it's okay. I mean, it's not. It's not okay, but it will be. It's just that, uh, Johnny, he really looks up to you, and Sydney--they love you, and I think that EJ can't stand that. And I think that's why he did this to you.

Rafe: Well, he sounds like a great guy, how did you end up with him?

Sami: Ha! It's a long story. And it doesn't reflect well on me. But bottom line is if we told my dad and my uncle what EJ has done, he's gonna wanna come breaking into the DiMera's house with guns blazing and that-- sorry. Um, and sirens screaming, and arrest them and throw them in prison for the rest of their lives.

Rafe: And the problem with that is...

Sami: That EJ will disappear. That he can just disappear, I'm sure he has fake passports ready. And he will take my kids and I'll never see them again.

Rafe: You sure?

Sami: He tried it once before, and you stopped him.

Rafe: [Chuckles] Well, I guess it's kinda hard for me to argue with you since... since I can't remember anything. So, um, if that's what you wanna do.

Sami: Look, EJ has my kids, and I have to make sure that he's not suspicious. He cannot know that you are alive, and he cannot know that I know what he did.

Rafe: You still haven't told me what it is you wanna do.

Sami: The hardest thing I've ever had to do in my entire life.

Victor: I don't give a damn what time it is, they're open for business in Shanghai, and I want this deal made. Sleep when you're dead, goodbye.

Brady: What are you doing?

Victor: I'm running my business.

Brady: Are you suffering from dementia? Titan doesn't belong to you anymore, remember? It's mine.

Victor: We forgave each other. We talked about what family means. We hugged.

Brady: That was a nice moment, yeah. But that didn't mean that I was going to lie down and play dead. Think again.

Sami: Um, what'd you do with him?

Rafe: Just dragged him into the bathroom and gagged him.

Sami: Aw, you get to have all the fun. Sorry.

Rafe: Aah. I don't think either one of us has had much fun for the last few months.

Sami: We used to. You and me and the kids, we used to have fun. All the time.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, even if he does make a sound, no one will be able to hear it.

Sami: Great. Rafe, I really believe that this is what's best for my kids. I hope you can trust me on this.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, I think I'm gonna have to follow your lead on this one. For now.

Sami: Well, I know I can get through anything as long as I have you.

Lexie: Well, since I don't want to be in a tougher position than I'm already in, I promise. I won't say anything to Taylor.

EJ: Thank you. [Cell phone rings] Great. Samantha.

Lexie: [Sighs] Oh.

EJ: What fresh hell is this? Samantha. What can I do for you?

Sami: There's something I need to talk to you about. Do you have a second?

Victor: You haven't changed a damn bit, have you?

Brady: That's what I love about you. You think everybody else is supposed to do the changing.

Victor: You know, maybe I do have dementia. For thinking you haven't turned into a sneaky, ungrateful, disloyal snake-in-the-grass.

Brady: Ooh, that's right. I have no compassion. And people mean nothing to me. Now who does that remind you of?

Victor: Damned if he isn't right.

Sami: So you're not busy or anything?

EJ: No, I have a couple of minutes. [Whispers] It's Samantha.

Lexie: Oh, I'll go check on the kids.

EJ: So what's up?

Sami: How are the kids? How are Johnny and Sydney?

EJ: They're fine. Lexie's here, actually, she just went upstairs to tuck them in. But I'm pretty sure they're already asleep. Oh, so if you want to talk to them, I--

Sami: No. No, it's all right. I-I'll--I mean, I'll call them in the morning.

EJ: What's wrong, I can hear something off in your voice.

Sami: And here I thought I was covering so well.

EJ: Okay, what is it?

Sami: Things, um, aren't going so well with Rafe.

EJ: Oh, still no progress?

Sami: No. No, um, when I got back from Eric's I thought I could really work through it, but I don't think so now. I mean, they're not getting better and they're not going to.

EJ: Well, you know, I'm very sorry. That must be awfully, uh, disappointing for you.

Sami: So, um, I'm gonna need to ask you for a favor. Um, with Johnny and Sydney, I was wondering if you could keep them for a day or so.

EJ: Of course.

Sami: I just need some time, you know, to think things through. I just needed to get away for a couple days before--before the divorce.

EJ: Is Rafe at the apartment?

Sami: No. No, I--I have no idea where he is and I don't care. But I'm gonna guess he's not coming back to Salem.

EJ: [Sighs] You know, I'd love to say that I'm surprised, but frankly Samantha, I'm really not. You know, you said that he'd changed after the accident. I have to say, I think you're right.

Sami: Boy, was I ever.

EJ: You know, quite frankly I really did not feel comfortable leaving Johnny and Sydney with him alone.

Sami: Right. Yeah, well, for good reason. I know what you mean, um, so Johnny and Sydney need to know, but I would like to be the one to tell them so if you could just not say anything and let me tell them? I'll just be back in a couple days and I'm gonna tell them myself.

EJ: Absolutely. Oh, um, and Samantha. For what it's worth, I'm sorry.

Sami: He's sorry. He's sorry, that son-of-a bitch! He's sorry!? Oh, my God, I hate him! I hate him, I hate him, I hate him, I--God, I hate him so much! [Hyperventilating]

Rafe: It's okay, it's okay.

Sami: [Crying]

Lexie: [Chuckling] Sami and Rafe are getting a divorce. And they haven't even been married a year. I knew it.

EJ: I know, poor fellow.

Lexie: Hm.

EJ: She says he's left town, he's not coming back, and he is out of her life for good.

Lexie: Hmm. And I can see how that really depresses you.

EJ: Well, let's just say it's one silver lining in an otherwise wretched evening.

Lexie: [Sighs] EJ. [Chuckles] You are truly the master.

EJ: At what?

Lexie: You actually had me feeling sorry for you. In spite of the fact that you are entirely responsible for just about every bad thing that's happened to you.

EJ: If I could maybe just take advantage of that for just one quick moment.

Lexie: Ah, don't press your luck.

EJ: Give this to Taylor.

Lexie: Ever heard of the U.S. Mail?

EJ: Lexie, I put this in the mail, she puts it in the trash. If I give it to you there's a chance that she might read it. I'll understand if you say no, I will. But this is probably the only chance that I will have to let Taylor know that she wasn't played for a fool by a complete bastard.

Lexie: Okay, give it to me.

EJ: Thank you.

Lexie: Oy vey. [Chuckles] Oh, EJ. Brother. You--you seem to have this fantasy of a house with a picket fence, and the sweet wife waiting for you at the door when you come home each night. But that's not an option for you. You and father have seen to that. Remember that the next time you meet a woman like Taylor, hm?

Maggie: Oh, please, sit.

Victor: So... about the Chloe situation.

Maggie: Go on.

Victor: First of all I think Philip did the right thing by taking Parker and getting out of town. So what I realized was my need to punish Chloe was a reaction to my own loss in this whole thing. And I did the same thing to you, and it's not fair. It's not what I want.

Maggie: [Sighs] What do you want, Victor?

Victor: For this to work between us, to share my life with you. I realized for that happen I have to change. Be worthy of you. Now you're the one that's not saying anything.

Maggie: I wanna believe that you mean it.

Victor: Maggie, having you in my life is a gift. Even though I've gotten on in years, when I'm with you I feel young. Hopeful. More than I ever have before. I think of you when I wake up in the morning. I wanna see you, I wanna see your smile. Your beautiful, heartwarming smile. I'd be a fool to give that up.

Maggie: [Crying]

Sami: [Crying] Thank you.

Rafe: Oh, you're welcome. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Obviously that took a lot out of you.

Sami: I just have to make sure that EJ isn't suspicious. I mean, he just--he'll think something's up if he knows that I've left town the same night as the creature. And that gives us time to figure out what we're gonna do. I mean, assuming that you, um, you and I are together on this.

Rafe: I'm sorry. I'm sorry I can't remember us.

Sami: It's not your fault. It's not your fault. Will you help me?

Rafe: Will I help you? Listen, I want you to know that I will do anything I can to help you. I want revenge too, you know.

Sami: You deserve it.

Rafe: Yeah, I know.

Sami: I keep waiting for will to text me. He, um, he hasn't--I told him the same thing I told EJ.

Rafe: Will?

Sami: My oldest son.

Rafe: Oh.

Sami: Will. He's in high school, he's about to graduate.

Rafe: He's in what?

Sami: Yeah.

Rafe: High school, you didn't--no, come on. You don't have a son who's in high school, you kidding me? You're not that old.

Sami: [Laughs] Thank you.

Rafe: I'm serious.

Sami: I got started early, it's another long story. He, um, he's in love with your sister.

Rafe: I have a sister?

Sami: Gabi. Gabriella. And she's lovely.

Rafe: Aah.

Sami: Crazy that I have to tell you this.

Rafe: I can't believe you're telling me this. I can't.

Sami: But you gotta know I'm gonna do it. I will do anything, I will do everything I have to do. But we're gonna work this out, okay? I'm gonna find a way to make this right for us.

Lexie: Taylor.

Taylor: Hey, Lex.

Lexie: I thought you'd be at home with Abe and Theo.

Taylor: Yeah, you know, um, it was such a beautiful night that I thought, well, hell, why not go take a walk. [Laughs] Thought it might make me feel better.

Lexie: Aah.

Taylor: It didn't.

Lexie: Oh, honey, sorry. Um, I have something for you. It's from EJ. I-I hope I'm doing the right thing.

Taylor: Thanks.

Lexie: Okay, I'll see you at home.

Taylor: "Dear Taylor, I want you to know something. I will always love you."

Maggie: So you'll let me know as soon as you hear. Okay, thank you, Travis. Yeah, you too, bye-bye.

Victor: Everything all right?

Maggie: Yeah, just a little mix-up at work.

Victor: Well, I should be going.

Maggie: What? Now?

Victor: Maggie, I want so much to be the man that you deserve. As I said, you're--you're a gift. And the most important thing that's ever happened to me. And yet--

Maggie: Go on.

Victor: Well, talk is cheap.

Maggie: I don't understand.

Victor: Not that I wasn't being sincere in what I said before, it's just that I was perhaps... being overly confident.

Maggie: In what way?

Victor: Our relationship is too important to me not to be totally honest. But the desire to change is not the same thing as the ability to change.

Maggie: So you're saying that you're afraid that you won't be able to change.

Victor: Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.

EJ: What do you think you're doing?

Nicole: Going to bed.

EJ: Not in my bed you're not.

Nicole: Funny, I thought it was our bed.

EJ: I don't sleep with blackmailers.

Nicole: Oh, well, really, don't flatter yourself. I don't want you like that anymore anyway. This marriage is in name only.

EJ: Good, then you can go and sleep in one of the other bedrooms.

Nicole: Hmm. Well, you know how Johnny runs in here every morning, yelling "rise and shine!" And we act all grumpy and he laughs his little head off?

EJ: Your point?

Nicole: My point is, when he runs in here tomorrow morning and you're the only one rising and shining and acting all grumpy, do you really want that precocious, wonderfully boisterous little boy to go running home to Sami and report that his step mommy and daddy aren't sleeping in the same room anymore? Huh?

Maggie: So, um, when will we see each other again?

Victor: It's a small town, I'm sure we'll run into each other sooner or later.

Maggie: Right. Sure.

Victor: I'm sorry, Maggie. More than you'll ever know.

Maggie: [Crying]

EJ: You stick to your side of the bed.

Nicole: [Chuckles] I'm glad you see it my way. Mm. Besides, I have to keep an eye on you. Can't have you sneaking off in the middle of the night doing God knows what to God knows who. Or is it, whom? I wasn't sure if I'd got that right--oh!

EJ: You go to hell, Nicole.

Sami: And I agree, I think that is why you kept the key that whole time. It's because you knew in your heart how important this place was. You knew. I mean, this is where we fell in love.

Rafe: Yeah. Oh, God, I really wish I could remember that.

Sami: You will. I know you will.

On the next “Days of Our Lives" --

Hope: When are you gonna tell me what really happened that day?

Man: [German accent] Fraulein von Leuschner?

Carly: No.

Rafe: Well, if he doesn't get it, he could die.

Sami: Let him.
