[Cell phone rings]

Rafe 2: Yeah, what do you want, Dario?

Dario: Are you ever gonna come home? I want to talk to you.

Rafe 2: So talk.

Dario: Not over the phone.

Rafe 2: What'd you screw up this time?

Dario: It's good to know that you have such a high opinion of your brother. I actually just wanted to kick in on the rent or something.

Rafe 2: Hey, that's actually a good idea.

Dario: So we'll talk then.

Rafe 2: Yeah. What do you think? Like two, three grand a month?

Dario: You're in a weird mood.

Rafe 2: Yeah. I'm also working so let's talk about this later.

Dario: Out catching bad guys?

Rafe 2: Yeah. Something like that.

Melanie: I thought that was you. What are you doing here?

Daniel: Having coffee.

Melanie: Have it at the hospital. You have a PR meeting now with Jennifer.

Daniel: Oh, that's right. Must've slipped my mind.

Melanie: Nothing ever slips your mind. Are you playing hooky?

Jennifer: It's driving me nuts. It's been driving me nuts for weeks.

Daniel: Whoa!

Jennifer: Sorry.

[Knock at door]

Jennifer: Oh oh oh. Ugggh.

Maxine: Oh, I thought I was late. That looks like something I'd do.

Jennifer: Maxine, it's you.

Maxine: Yeah, I knew that. Thought I was late. Where's Dr. Jonas?

Jennifer: Well, I thought that you were him. But, obviously, he's late. He's not here.

Maxine: Well, in that case, I'm gonna go get my charts filed.

Jennifer: No!

Maxine: Call me when he-- no?

Jennifer: No. I think that it would be best if you're here when he gets here.

Maxine: Really? And just why is that?

Carly: I will call you when I get your test results back. But I don't anticipate a problem.

Stefano: No?

Carly: No. Your blood sugar level has been stable for over a month and the rest of your checkup was really good.

Stefano: Well, it's good to hear that.

Carly: Yeah.

Stefano: I must say it was a little sobering hearing about Fay last night.

Carly: I don't want you to worry about that. I told Nicole her death was a result of her heart abnormalities, okay? Diabetes is a very manageable disease.

Stefano: Well, I'll try to be more conscientious from here on in.

Carly: Okay. Good.

Stefano: [Exhales] Well, I mean, looks like I have a new lease on life, huh? My youngest son--well, at least I think he's my youngest son. They've been popping up like birds lately. I don't know. Um, he moved into my house with me, see? And, uh, there's nothing like having a child around to make you realize why it's worth living.

Carly: You don't know how bad it was, okay? I need you to understand that I had no choice.

Nicholas: I don't have to do anything. I'm gonna hang up now, Mom. And don't call back. You're as dead to me as my father is.

Stefano: Dr. Manning.

Carly: Yeah?

Stefano: Are you all right?

Carly: No. No, I'm not.

Nicole: EJ says... that we had time together. That we worked everything out. But that doesn't erase all the terrible things that I said to you. All the things I did. But I can't trust him, can I? Not after you told me he had a secret. And I saw the look in your eyes, Mom. I saw how desperate you were. And now I have to find out what it was. I have to know.

Fay: Yes, you do!

Nicole: Oh!

Fay: You have to know! You have to know! You have to know!

Nicole: [Screaming]

Fay: You have to know! You have to know!

Nicole: [Exhales]

EJ: Morning.

Taylor: Not really.

EJ: No. Did you--did you get any sleep?

Taylor: Um, a little. How about Nicole?

EJ: She was up most of the night. But she put her head down a little while ago. Hopefully, she gets some sleep.

Taylor: She was in pretty bad shape last night.

EJ: Yeah, you both were. Listen, I just wanted to talk to you about something just for a second.

Taylor: EJ, please, I don't want to talk about it.

[Doorbell rings]

EJ: Just give me a minute, all right? I'll get rid of them.

Taylor: I should've been there. Mommy shouldn't have died alone.

Rafe 2: Hey.

EJ: What the hell do you want?

Rafe 2: I came to see you. I got something to tell you. Something huge.

Daniel: Why, it is so sweet of you to interrupt your run, come in, and just nag me.

Melanie: Oh, well, you know. Uh, it's just not really like you to be hanging out in a coffee shop when you should be in the hospital.

Daniel: Yeah, so any responses on your reward offer?

Melanie: Hey, that's changing the subject.

Daniel: Hey, that is. You're exactly right. Mm. So have you?

Melanie: As a matter of fact, the police think they have a partial license plate.

Daniel: That's good.

Melanie: Yeah. And, I mean, you add that with the make and model information they have, we might actually-- we might actually have something.

Daniel: Look at that. Good for you for--for jump-starting something that was a cold case.

Melanie: Well, you know.

Daniel: Little Nancy Drew on my hands.

Melanie: [Giggles]

Daniel: Well, you know what, I better get to my meeting or whatever it is, all right?

Melanie: Yeah. You're--

Daniel: You, my dear, enjoy your run.

Melanie: I will.

Daniel: Muah.

Melanie: Love you.

Daniel: I love you too.

Melanie: Saw hi to Jennifer. Your meeting. Your PR meeting.

Daniel: Yes. Right. Okay.

Melanie: Dad, your coat and your coffee.

Daniel: Got it. Got it. Got it. Thank you.

Melanie: Check check. Okay.

Daniel: Taking care of your dad.

Melanie: Bye.

Daniel: Bye-bye, honey.

Melanie: Donut. Running. Donut. Running. Donut. Running. Running. Running. Chh chh chh chh.

EJ: We have been over this. If you have something huge that you need to tell me, you pick up the phone and you make an appointment. You don't just show up here unannounced, all right?

[Footsteps approach]

Rafe 2: Hello. So sorry. I didn't know you had a visitor.

EJ: Uh, yes. This is, um, Taylor. She's Nicole's sister. She's staying with us at the moment. Taylor, this is Mr. Rafe Hernandez.

Rafe 2: Nicole's sister, uh, I am so sorry for your loss. And for what I may have said, your mother was a very nice lady.

Taylor: You knew my mother well?

Rafe 2: I met her professionally. She reminded me of my mother. Very protective of her kid.

Taylor: Professionally?

Rafe 2: I was in the FBI. I was...never mind. It's neither here nor there. Nor is it the time or place. Let me just tell you why I'm here and then I'll get out of your hair. Is Nicole around?

Nicole: Mom. What were you trying to tell me about EJ?

Carly: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get emotional.

Stefano: But something is bothering you.

Carly: I'm glad for your son. It just--it reminded me that my son and I aren't on very good terms right now.

Stefano: Well, I'm sure that's got to be very painful for you. But, you know, what they say is really true: Time heals everything.

Carly: I don't know about that. Didn't change Lawrence. I'm very sorry. You came here for a checkup, not to hear about my problems.

Stefano: No, no, no, no. It's no problem at all. You know, sometimes when you talk to someone that's had a little experience with this kind of thing, it's very good--

Lexie: Hey.

Stefano: Ah.

Lexie: How'd it go with your checkup?

Stefano: Dr. Manning gave me a clean bill of health.

Lexie: Fantastic. Um, how are Nicole and Taylor doing?

Stefano: I don't know. I haven't seen them this morning. I better get going. Ah.

Carly: Oh.

Stefano: Thank you. And, look, you take care of yourself, hmm? Like Katharine Hepburn said "every family has its ups and downs."

Carly: Thank you.

Stefano: Ciao.

Lexie: Bye-bye.

Stefano: See you, sweetheart.

Lexie: Okay. What was that all about?

Carly: Nothing. I just--I told him that Nicholas and I weren't getting along very well right now. That's all.

Lexie: Whoa. Carly, you just opened up to my father, okay? You need some time off.

Carly: Stop. No.

Lexie: All right. Seriously, last night was truly awful, okay? Here you are back already?

Carly: Lexie, work is all I've got right now, okay?

Lexie: It's not that we don't need you here, all right? I'm just worried that you're pushing yourself too hard, Carly. I mean, don't take this the wrong way, but you look exhausted.

Carly: I'm fine. I'm fine.

Lexie: Carly, talk to me.

Carly: Maybe I should.

Maxine: So maybe you'd like to tell me why you don't want to be alone in the room with Dr. Jonas.

Jennifer: I didn't say that.

Maxine: You kind of did. "It would be best if I were here when he got here." You make me feel like the duenna.

Jennifer: Maxine, we are launching a PR campaign with one doctor and one nurse. You and Dr. Jonas are our first profile. I want to see the two of you together. I want to get a sense of your relationship.

Maxine: Our relationship is he's the doctor, I'm the nurse. He tells me what to do and I do it.

Jennifer: Okay, then you have a lot of respect for him. Great.

Maxine: Everybody does. But I still have to do what doctors say no matter what I think of them. But I will say one thing about Dr. Jonas.

Jennifer: Okay, yes.

Maxine: Damn, that man is fine. [Chuckles]

Jennifer: Maxine, I really don't see what that has to do with anything.

Maxine: Really? So it's just a wild coincidence that you chose him to be your first profile? I think you chose the best-looking doctor and nurse that you could find.

Daniel: Well, sorry I'm late. What did I miss?

Maxine: Should you tell him or should I?

Taylor: Nicole didn't get to bed until late last night. We're letting her sleep.

Rafe 2: I understand. Would you tell Nicole when she wakes up that Sami and I are very sorry for her loss and we're more than happy to watch the kids for as long as you need us to?

Taylor: I will. Thank you. Um, I'm gonna go up and check on her. Rafe, it was nice to meet you.

Rafe 2: My pleasure.

Taylor: Yeah.

Rafe 2: Sister, huh? Must be nice.

EJ: What do you think you're doing coming around here?

Rafe 2: Hmm?

EJ: And what's all that nonsense about knowing her mother?

Rafe 2: Rafe did. Roman mentioned it. I actually thought it was a nice detail.

EJ: No, what it was was a potential disaster.

Rafe 2: Hey, I thought I did good. Yeah. That cover story about coming by for the kids, very plausible.

EJ: Oh, I see. You're pleased with yourself, aren't you?

Rafe 2: A bit.

EJ: That poor girl's mother's dead. And you come around here thinking you'll play a game of charades?

Rafe 2: Yeah. Playing damn well, yes? In fact, I actually think you and your pops need to start thinking about, uh, a bonus.

EJ: I think you need to get out.

Rafe 2: You do know I'm not gonna be around much longer for you to kick around. Yeah. See, Sami and her husband, they had a huge fight after you left the other day. Sorry to say I don't think that marriage is gonna last much longer.

EJ: Really?

Rafe 2: Mmm. Thought that might cheer you up.

EJ: [Exhales] I suppose that's good to hear. Truth be told, we were all beginning to have our doubts about you.

Rafe 2: Elvis, Elvis, Elvis, my man--hey, hey, hey, take it easy there, buddy. Let me just tell you something. You have no idea what I'm capable of.

Nicole: It was just a nightmare, Taylor.

Taylor: About mom?

Nicole: Mom and... is EJ downstairs?

Taylor: Yeah. He's, uh, he's talking to Rafe Hernandez.

Nicole: Rafe? I wonder why.

Melanie: [Gasps]

Carly: I would prefer this to stay between us because I don't want people thinking that they have to cover for me. They don't.

Lexie: Okay. What is it?

Carly: I slipped in the shower and I banged my elbow really bad.

Lexie: Oh.

Carly: I know. And I tried to push through it, but it hurts really bad. And during the day, it's fine. It's just I'm having trouble sleeping with it.

Lexie: Yeah, but why should you have to deal with pain like that?

Carly: Exactly. So I made an appointment with Dr. Eldridge, get an x-ray, see what's wrong. But for whatever reason, I can't get in there today.

Lexie: Well, have you tried aspirin, ibuprofen?

Carly: It doesn't even touch the pain.

Lexie: Carly, why didn't you tell me, all right? Look, I'll write you a prescription to get you through the day. You don't have to fill it if you start feeling better, okay?

Carly: That's reasonable.

Lexie: Um, can I use your pen? Thanks.

Man: Would you listen to me and listen to me good? Drop the stupid reward thing. If you drop it, nothing new comes up, and you're safe. So you got one hour to pull the reward or I'm gonna--

Taylor: He came over to say that he and Sami can take care of the kids for as long as you need them too.

Nicole: Oh. That was nice of him.

Taylor: EJ doesn't like him, does he?

Nicole: [Laughs] That's an understatement.

Taylor: Yeah, he was trying really hard to be pleasant, but there was--there was a very strange vibe going on.

Nicole: Well, I, uh, I really need to talk to EJ. But I can't deal with anyone right now. So could you just let me know when Rafe leaves?

Taylor: Okay, yeah.

Nicole: Oh, and don't let EJ go.

Taylor: Go?

Nicole: He has a tendency to disappear without telling me and I really need to talk to him.

Taylor: About what mom said?

Nicole: About what mom said.

Taylor: Okay, yeah, I'll go downstairs and I'll let him know you have to talk to him.

Nicole: Thank you.

Taylor: He's gone?

EJ: Uh, yeah. Finally.

Taylor: Listen, Nicole's awake. She's coming down to talk to you. So let me talk to you first.

EJ: Of course.

Taylor: Do you remember when I talked to my mom and she said "Help Nikki"?

EJ: Yeah.

Taylor: That was the last thing she ever said to me.

EJ: I know.

Taylor: I told myself then that it meant that she wasn't gonna tell Nicole about us.

EJ: She didn't.

Taylor: No, she told Nicole something.

EJ: What do you mean she told--what?

Taylor: That's for Nicole to tell you. This is what I have to tell you: The last thing my mother ever said to me was "Help Nikki" and that's what I'm gonna do. And I can't help Nikki if you and I keep playing--

EJ: We're not playing a game. This is not a game, Taylor.

Taylor: I was gonna say playing with fire. I can't fall into your arms because I'm grieving for my mother. That doesn't help Nikki. We can't keep pretending that we're in control, EJ. We have to stay away from each other. We have to keep our distance otherwise my mother's last words to me are meaningless.

[Footsteps approach]

Nicole: Hey, I heard Rafe's car take off.

EJ: Hey.

Taylor: Yeah, I was just about to come up and tell you that he--he'd gone.

EJ: You okay? I was hoping you'd get some more sleep.

Nicole: I have too much on my mind to sleep. Listen, Taylor, I know we have to make plans. But would you mind if we got out of here for a little while?

Taylor: No, no. Not at all.

Nicole: I just need a minute with EJ before we go, okay?

Taylor: Mm-hmm. Sure. I'll get my coat.

EJ: Hey. So what do you want to talk to me about?

Nicole: Yeah, uh, you're keeping a secret from me and I want to know what it is.

EJ: A secret? Whatever gave you that idea?

Nicole: Not a what. A who. My mother.

Jennifer: All right, so first thing I want to do is I want to get the interns together and I want them to follow the two of you around all day long so they can see what a normal day is like.

Daniel: Just make sure they stay out of my way.

Jennifer: Yes, of course.

Daniel: Oh, and the O.R.: Off limits.

Jennifer: Yes, uh, let me make a note of that. Sorry.

Maxine: Maybe I should pick up the pen, being a neutral party here.

Jennifer: Thank you.

[Cell phone rings]

Maxine: I know you two are gonna be crushed, but I got to go. Hope I can trust you two alone.

Jennifer: So, uh, where were we? We--oh, I know. The interns not in the emergency room.

Daniel: Jennifer, Jennifer.

Jennifer: Yes?

Daniel: Don't you think we should talk about what just happened here?

Jennifer: I dropped my pen. We don't need to talk about that.

Daniel: No, no, no, no. I think we need to talk about us.

Lexie: Okay, every four hours. I'll write this for four pills.

Carly: Um, you know what, in case it gets crazy busy around here today, maybe you could give me a refill just in case I can't see the doctor.

Lexie: Oh, yeah, sure.

Carly: Great.

Lexie: Okay. This should help.

Carly: Thank you.

Lexie: Mm-hmm. I have to get back to work.

Carly: Okay.

Lexie: All right.

Carly: Thanks a lot. Just in case. Just in case.

Maxine: Dr. Manning?

Melanie: Stop it. Dario... st-- hey! Are you okay?

Dario: Yeah. Are you?

Melanie: Yeah, I'm fine. Did you see his face or a tattoo or some way we can identify him?

Dario: No.

Melanie: Damn it.

Dario: Wait. What was that?

Melanie: I think that was the guy that killed Arianna.

EJ: Your mother?

Nicole: The last thing she ever said to me was "EJ secret." She was really upset about it.

EJ: That's it?

Nicole: No, that's not it. That's all she could say. I could see it in her eyes. EJ, she was desperate to tell me something, but she couldn't. So I am asking you to tell me what it is.

EJ: Fay, Fay, it's EJ. Fay, don't you recognize me? Fay, it's EJ. Fay, it's EJ.

[Fay hyperventilating]

EJ: I have no idea. Sweetheart.

Nicole: Great. Okay.

EJ: What? Look at me. This whole situation's been a tremendous strain on all of us. On all of us. Your mother was in a hospital. She was heavily medicated. She was in critical care, okay? Who knows what she was trying to say or what she meant to say?

Nicole: It was pretty straight-forward to me, EJ.

EJ: Listen to me, Nicole. This is not important right now.

Nicole: It is important to me!

EJ: It's not important.

Nicole: Yes, it is!

EJ: Fine. All right. You want to know if I have a secret? I don't have one secret, Nicole. I have a thousand secrets. Secrets is what I do. That's who I am. But none of my secrets pertain to you, all right? I have secrets to protect the people that I love not to hurt them.

Nicole: Right. What was I thinking?

Taylor: You ready?

Nicole: Yes. Let's go.

Stefano: Oh, you're leaving.

Taylor: Yeah, we're just gonna get some air.

Nicole: And we have a funeral to plan. It's been a hell of a morning.

Stefano: All right. What's going on?

EJ: Something's not right.

Daniel: Jennifer, it's pretty obvious, um, that Maxine noticed there's something going on here between us.

Jennifer: Oh, she was just teasing.

Daniel: No, Jennifer, this is a hospital. You know what people do here? They talk. Everybody talks including Maxine.

Jennifer: Well, there's nothing to talk about.

Daniel: No? Really? Really? Well, don't you think maybe we should just be honest?

Jennifer: No, I don't like being honest.

Daniel: That's great. Okay, you know what, I'll start. Let me start. Um, because you--you have been a great friend. And yesterday and what just happened now, that really wasn't friendship. That was more like, uh...

Jennifer: I know what it is. It's chemistry.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah. And that--that--that's a problem because we're just getting over a relationship, both of us. And it's probably just some dumb, uh, what do they call-- rebound. Kind of a rebound thing, you know?

Jennifer: Right.

Daniel: Right.

Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah. It's, uh, it's dumb.

Daniel: You know, and I don't want to use you to get over Chloe. Let me put this in chick terms. I ain't emotionally available.

Jennifer: No. I get it. I know exactly what you're saying. I mean, I wouldn't want to use you as some bad substitute for Jack.

Daniel: No. Hard to measure up to him.

Jennifer: All right, so since we both agree that there is this chemistry, I think it would be a really bad idea to act on it. Agreed?

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah. Agreed.

Rafe 2: I'll check in after I get some rack time.

Dylan: Rough night?

Rafe 2: [Scoffs] Well, you know what it's like to protect and serve.

Dario: You don't answer your phone.

Rafe 2: Dude, I can't spend my life on the phone with you, okay? I got a job.

Dario: Some guy attacked Melanie. I almost had him, but he got away.

Rafe 2: That sounds terrible. Hey, Chuck, you take care of these guys for me? Officer Dylan here will help you. He's awesome. I got to get some rack time.

Dario: Officer Dylan? Rack time? Did you not hear what I said? Some guy attacked her with a knife.

Rafe 2: What guy?

Dario: The guy that killed our sister.

Rafe 2: Oh. Right. Okay. Well, like I said, he'll take care of you. We'll see what we can do.

Dario: "See what we can do"? What the hell's wrong with you?

Taylor: You sure you don't want anything to eat?

Nicole: No. I guess we should talk about the funeral.

Taylor: Nicole, why don't you let me handle it?

Nicole: No. I wanted to d-- I want to do it together. I want it to be personal.

Taylor: Okay. Hey, Nikki, um, what happened when you spoke with EJ?

Nicole: To tell you the truth, I don't know.

EJ: Look, according to him, Samantha and he had a huge fight and now the marriage is almost over.

Stefano: But that's good news, isn't it?

EJ: It's good news if it's true.

Stefano: Why? You don't believe him?

EJ: I don't trust him. Father, there's something very funny about this guy. Okay, look, we tell him in no uncertain terms not to come over to the house yet he keeps popping up, you know? It's like he's pushing the envelope. We don't control him anymore. And this seizure thing that he fakes, that's dangerous.

Stefano: But, you see, we are approaching the end game here. If Samantha decides to finally get rid of him out of her life, right, we won't have to deal with him anymore.

EJ: Maybe. Maybe not.

Stefano: What is that supposed to mean?

EJ: Listen. Nicole, uh, told me something earlier. She said that when Fay was on her deathbed, she told her that I was keeping a secret from her.

Stefano: Fay is dead. And from what I know about dead people, she can't tell Nicole anything anymore.

EJ: Yeah, but, Father, that's not gonna stop Nicole from prying.

Stefano: So Nicole will find out about you and Taylor. Big deal. Look, I'm sorry, but this marriage of yours is not the romance of the ages, you know.

EJ: Thank you, Father. But my concern is that that's not the secret she's talking about. Listen, when I went to see Fay in the hospital, she looked up at me, she had a cardiac arrest. Now, I don't think that that was because she had this idea that I was having impure thoughts about her daughter.

Stefano: [Sighs heavily] All right, look, I will put it harshly, okay? Fay is dead. It doesn't make any difference what she did or did not know.

EJ: Well, I'm happy you think that, but I'm not sure I can agree with you.

Jennifer: Well, we accomplished a lot this morning professionally and personally.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, oh, yeah. Yeah, if you say so. Sure.

Jennifer: So what I'm gonna do--professionally--is I'm going to gather my interns, I'm going to email you and Maxine. We're gonna get this whole thing started.

Daniel: That's great. That's--that's--that's very professional. That's good. Yeah, I like that. That's good. Oh, and the personal thing?

Jennifer: Bye. It's always good to see you.

Daniel: You too. I'm sure I'll see you around the hospital. Okay? All right? My phone.

Jennifer: All right. This is not gonna be a problem 'cause all I have to do is keep my distance from him. That's okay. It's gonna be easy.

Daniel: Bad substitute. [Sighs] All right, Jonas, it's simple. Just keep your distance.

Rafe 2: Okay, I get it. Like you're all pumped because you and Nancy Drew here have cracked a case that's got everyone stumped. You got a crazy guy to come after you with a knife. Big deal. You know how many whackos come in here every day and confess to a crime that they didn't commit?

Melanie: He said he came after me because of the reward. All right, obviously, he followed me.

Rafe 2: And what'd he look like?

Melanie: I don't know. He was wearing a mask.

Rafe 2: Oh. And he took off when?

Melanie: 20 minutes ago.

Rafe 2: 20 minutes. Okay. Here's what I got. Squat. All right? Now I'm gonna tell you something. I have been up all night long. I get to go home and tell my wife that a dear friend of hers is dead. So why don't you kindly talk to Officer Dylan here about your little adventure and then I'll look after it when I get a chance.

Melanie: What a jerk.

Dario: Okay, we haven't always got along, but that's so not my brother.

Nicole: EJ, uh, explained everything. That's one of his great gifts explaining everything.

Taylor: But you didn't accept his explanation?

Nicole: You know what, Taylor, you have enough to deal with without hearing about me and EJ.

Taylor: Nicole, the last thing mom said to me was to help you and I want to.

Nicole: I shouldn't have said anything. And, you know what, coming here was also a bad idea.

Taylor: Really?

Nicole: Yes, Taylor, because I look at this list and the last thing I want to do is cry in public. So can we just go, please?

Taylor: Yeah, yeah, no. Whatever you say. Maybe you should go first. I just...I'm gonna take a walk and clear my head a little.

Nicole: Taylor, I'm sorry if I'm acting weird. I just--

Taylor: [Hushing] Okay. You don't owe me an explanation, Nicole. I'll see you back at the house.

Nicole: Okay.

Taylor: Bye.

Nicole: I've got to stop sharing with you, Taylor. Mom knew a DiMera secret and look what happened to her.

Stefano: Huh huh huh huh. Should I start worrying about you losing your nerve?

EJ: I think we should both be worried, father. Nicole is nothing if not intrepid.

Stefano: You're looking for trouble.

EJ: She's not naive, Father. She knew something was going on in this house before Fay moved in. She knew something was going on in this house before we were married.

Stefano: She knew nothing.

EJ: No, no, no, she chose to know nothing. But how long do you think it's gonna take until she starts to remember that we had this work going on in the basement that she wasn't allowed to know about, hmm? And now Fay told her that I have a secret.

Stefano: Fay could not figure this out ever.

EJ: Are you sure? 'Cause let me tell you something: I'm not.

Carly: Oh!

Daniel: Oh, my gosh. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Carly: I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going.

Daniel: No, I'm sorry too. I hope I didn't bump into your elbow. Lexie. Lexie. She said that you hurt it.

Carly: Oh. No, I'm fine. I'm fine now.

Daniel: You're fine?

Carly: Yeah.

Daniel: Those are pain killers.

Carly: Well, Lexie insisted just to tide me over until I can see the doctor.

Daniel: Oh, you know what, oh, I'm a doctor. Yeah. I could take a look.

Carly: No, I have to run. I have to get going.

Daniel: It'll just take a second.

Carly: Stop bugging me! Stop it!

Dario: Well, if Rafe isn't gonna help me, then I'm sure as hell not going to wait for some beat cop to just take a statement and then do nothing. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this on my own.

Melanie: Yeah, right. We're doing this together. Come on.

Rafe 2: Sami! Sami, where the hell are you?

Johnny: Hey, Rafe!

Rafe 2: Hey, dude. What's up? Hey, get me a beer, will you? It's been one hell of a night. [Exhales]

Stefano: Goodness. Are you trying to tell me that this ex-waitress figured out what we did? [Laughs] Come on, will you, please? It's like what Chad says. "No way."

EJ: I don't know how she knows, but I think that she knows, okay? I think that Fay was trying to tell Nicole about Rafe.

On the next “Days of our Lives" --

Carly: Stop obsessing over my problems. Get your own damn life.

EJ: Who the hell is out there?

Rafe 2: You want a divorce?
