[Knock at door]
Dario: What the hell is this? Where's Rafe? Hey. Hey, maybe someone can tell me what the hell's going on. My brother Rafe, he's not in--in his room. Oh. It's you again.
Hope: Okay, follow me. Okay.
Ciara: Mommy, what's in my box?
Hope: Well, something that belonged to your great-grandma, honey. Some pictures and... a whole lot of things to remember her and the special memories we shared. Hey, come put your boxes down. Here.
Bo: Jennifer thought it would be fun for us to take a look at these. And since you guys are kinda... well, they're--these are older than you are, so why don't you go grab some cookies in the kitchen?
Hope: You know where they are, don't you, sweetheart?
Ciara: In the cookie jar.
Bo: Of course.
Ciara: Come on, Theo.
Hope: And save some--don't eat too many. Okay, uh, so.
Hope: Should we go through some of this?
Bo: You betcha. Here.
Hope: Oh, my God. Look. Look at this.
Taylor: Then we have to find a way to make these numbers work.
Brady: Yeah, we have, uh-- well, we have 24 hours.
Taylor: An all-nighter. How fun.
Brady: You like popcorn or chocolate, which one?
Taylor: Popcorn. Wow, accounting and snack foods. This really could be fun.
Brady: It could be.
EJ: What are you two up to? 24 hours to do what?
Brady: What the hell is it to you?
EJ: Well, it just seems to me, Brady, that you're putting a lot of pressure on this lady. It's her first day of work.
Brady: Um, are you gonna tell this jerk to leave, or do you want me to do it?
Taylor: I can handle pressure, EJ. Not to mention this is none of your business.
EJ: Fine, but just... so you know, titan is run a little bit like a totalitarian dictatorship. Life is gonna be rough.
Brady: All right, all right. No, no, no, no, no.
Rafe 2: Sooo... what?
Sami: Your secret? You told me you wanted to share with me what it was? "Zactly" what it was?
Rafe 2: [Chuckling] Yeah. Yes. Ah.
Rafe 2: Hm?
Sami: What is it?
Rafe 2: Okay, but only if you promise me something.
Sami: Okay, what--what do want me to promise you?
Rafe 2: Just no matter how crazy it sounds, you gotta believe me. Can you do that?
Taylor: What's the matter with you two? Just knock it off, will you?
EJ: Excuse me.
Brady: Guy's a jerk.
Taylor: Yeah, he is.
Brady: Yeah, he is. He's very protective over you. What's going on with that?
Taylor: Uh, I don't know. I don't know. I-I suppose it's because I'm his wife's sister, so he thinks it's okay to interfere with my life or something. I don't know.
Brady: How long are you gonna let that go on?
Taylor: I'm not. Brady, I am in no way beholden to that man just because I live in his depressing house. [Laughing] I mean, do you know that practically every single room in that place is paneled in dark wood or painted some dark, dreary color?
Brady: Yeah, I've been there. I've seen it. You know, maybe you should get the hell out of there, maybe.
Taylor: Yeah, I plan to. Yes. Out of his house and out of his sight. Soon as possible.
EJ: Okay, so there is no sign whatsoever that his memory is returning? Then can we please finally stop talking about the real Rafe Hernandez? Hm? No, sorry. Um... yes. I mean-- like clockwork, okay? Talk to you later. Hello, Fay. EJ DiMera.
Vivian: Gus. I have a mission for you.
Gus: Of course, Madame.
Vivian: I want you to get me a list of all of Stefano's past crimes and misdemeanors.
Gus: That'll be rather an extensive list, won't it?
Vivian: Yes, I--just do it. Wicked people usually use the same patterns of destruction over and over again. I want to know Stefano's pattern.
Vivian: Well, just go. What are you waiting for?
Gus: All right, I'm on it.
Sami: Okay. So what is it exactly that you want me to believe?
Rafe 2: Somethin' I did. I'm not too proud of it, either.
Rafe 2: But, uh... well, what choice did I have? Wanna know what happens when you try and escape, huh?
Rafe 2: Hey. Come here. You wanna know what happens when you try and screw me up? Huh?
Rafe 2: I mean, I just--I don't want you to be mad at me. That's all. Yeah, but you got--you can understand, I had to do what I did. The name of the play
Hope: Look at us there. Our wedding in England.
Bo: You sure looked beautiful that day. And every day since.
Hope: You can tell I've been crying. Look at my eyes. Oh, my gosh, they're so puffy. Not a very good look, huh?
Hope: I could barely get through my vows that day.
Bo: I wasn't exactly stoic myself.
Hope: Oh, my gosh, look at you. Oh, my gosh, look. Here we are leaving on the Fancy
Face. I remember how lucky I felt that day. Being married to my best friend. And the sweetest, handsomest...
Hope: Man I'd ever known.
Bo: Yeah, well, don't you forget it.
Hope: I wish to God the last year never happened. I appreciate you. I wanna get back to those days. Those feelings. What do you think? Think we can do it? Can we get back to those days, please?
EJ: Just, uh, just checking in. Thought I'd see how you were feeling.
Fay: Better, thanks. I mean, I'm not 100%.
EJ: Well, you'll get there. You'll get there. And how are you, um, settling in? How do you like the accommodations? Is it comfortable in the guest house?
Fay: Yes, I'm very comfortable, thank you. Your father and you have been very kind and generous.
EJ: Fay, you are family now.
Fay: Yeah, that's what Nicole keeps reminding me.
EJ: Can I be frank with you just for a second? I'm a little bit concerned about you being alone.
Fay: I'm sorry?
EJ: I know that you have Harold, and I know you have Mary, but it's not... it's not really company, is it?
Fay: [Laughs] EJ, I don't really need company all the time. I'm fine, really.
EJ: Okay. If you say so. You're sure you wouldn't feel better if one of your daughters were with you?
Fay: Oh, well, I mean, I-I guess.
EJ: Say no more, Fay. From me to you, my gift. Consider it done.
Taylor: So, enough about my living situation.
Brady: All right.
Taylor: Better get to work, huh? Find a way to slash the budget without cutting jobs.
Brady: That is the order of the day.
Taylor: I'm up to the challenge. I welcome it.
EJ: [Clears throat] Excuse me, sorry. Forgive me for interrupting again. Taylor, I just got off the phone with your mother. She says she's been trying to call you. You're not picking up.
Taylor: She did?
Taylor: I-- well, my phone was off. Maybe-- [Sighs]
EJ: I, um, I think she needs you. Now.
Dario: So you're really a nurse, huh?
Melanie: Oh, no, no. I just dress like this because I like the ensemble.
Dario: Yeah, well, can you tell me where my brother is? What have you done with him? Why isn't he in his room?
Melanie: I haven't done anything to your brother, okay? His doctor said he could go home.
Dario: Oh. Okay, well, I guess that's a good news.
Melanie: Yeah, okay.
Melanie: Wait. What you did to me earlier... that was out of line. Not to mention rude and disrespectful.
Dario: You mean dumping the bottle of water on your head?
Melanie: No, I'm not talking about when you dumped a bottle of water on my head, although that wasn't very nice, either. I'm talking about what you said. You had no right to call me shallow or unfeeling. I cared about your sister more than I can even put into words. I could always talk to her, and she always knew the right thing to say to me. And I loved her. And I miss her with all my heart.
Sami: Rafe. Hey, Rafe. Tell me what it is you want to tell me.
Rafe 2: Okay, just let me first say I think... mmm! You're so amazing. Really amazing.
Sami: Rafe, Rafe, Rafe. Stop.
Rafe 2: And that I just-- I love livin' here with you. And those kids. It's-- it's the best my life has ever been, and... I don't want it to end. Ever.
Sami: It doesn't have to end. Why would you say that?
Rafe 2: Okay, just tell me... are you as into me as I'm into you?
Sami: Rafe, we're married. You're my husband.
Rafe 2: No, no, no. Just answer the question. Are you into me?
Sami: You know I am.
Rafe 2: Good. 'Cause I'm so-- oh, my gosh. I'm so into you.
Rafe 2: You're s-- you're the best, you know? And you t-- beautiful and--and you're sweet. Hot. Hot!
Sami: Um, you know what? I think you are a little bit out of it. You need to, uh, get some rest.
Rafe 2: Wait, no, no, no, no. I'm great. I... never felt better.
Sami: Well, that's probably true. But I think you should lay down. Don't you think? Just go to the bedroom and just relax for a little bit, okay?
Rafe 2: Yeah, okay. If you go with me.
Sami: Yeah. I'll be right there.
Rafe 2: Okay. You--do you promise?
Dario: I didn't realize that you and my sister were that close.
Melanie: Of course you didn't. You weren't here.
Melanie: Anyway... now I don't really see things clearly anymore. Feels like... I guess she always kind of helped me with that. She also made me like myself. I guess that's because she liked me. Does that even make any sense?
Dario: Yeah, it does. Ari understood me, too. And... she accepted me for who I was. Made me actually feel like I was worth something. More than anyone else ever could.
Stephanie: I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?
Taylor: Why does my mother need me? Did something happen?
EJ: No, no, I don't think that anything happened. I j--I got the impression that she needed some emotional support. And your sister's out with the kids right now.
Taylor: Oh, oh, oh.
Taylor: Well, um, my phone was off. But I didn't get any messages. Um, Brady, can we continue this a little later?
Brady: Absolutely. Don't worry about it.
Taylor: Thank you. I'm so sorry. Okay, thanks.
EJ: Forgot your coat.
Taylor: Oh, right. Thank you.
EJ: Awfully sorry to take her away from you.
Brady: Oh, that's bull, EJ.
Brady: Of course you meant to do that. And I know exactly why.
Kate: I'm in a hurry, Vivian.
Vivian: I just wanted to apologize for being so testy the last time we met.
Kate: There's no need to apologize. Your behavior is perfectly understandable. You're a bitter, lonely woman who only has a paid servant to console her. I'd be testy, too.
Vivian: Oh, you're right. I'm not as fortunate as you, having this apparently open, loving relationship with Stefano. It's impressive, really.
Kate: There's no apparently about it. We have a great relationship. We share everything.
Vivian: I'm sure you do. Toothbrushes.... offshore expense accounts. You make a great team. Especially now that Stefano has this new scheme. It must be just so thrilling to work side by side on this marvelous sinister endeavor.
Sami: Dr. Manning. Hi, it's, uh, Sami Brady. I mean, uh, Sami Hernandez. I'm calling 'cause, um, I wanted to ask you about the anxiety medication that you prescribed for my husband. Uh, how strong is that stuff? 'Cause he's been acting really loopy, and-- no, no. I didn't give him any alco-- I'm gonna have to call you back. Oh, my God, he spiked his drink. After I put drugs in it!
Rafe 2: [Laughing] Yeah! She loves me. Ah. Little ol' me. Yeah. Yes. I'm gonna tell her. I'm not the real Rafe. Yeah. Gonna tell her just like it is.
Brady: Do you really think you're fooling anyone?
EJ: Well, go on, then. Spit it out.
Brady: Well, it's very obvious to me. You're trying to sabotage Taylor's job with me. Why are you doing that?
EJ: Brady, I don't understand why she took the job with you in the first place.
Brady: Why is that?
EJ: Well, because she's a very smart woman, and she realizes that you are just using her to get to me.
Brady: [Scoffs] [Chuckles] Are there any limits to your self-obsession, EJ?
EJ: I don't know. Are there any limits to your transparency?
Brady: You are not gonna believe this, but it's actually not about you. I hired Taylor because she has very good qualifications, EJ. She's clever and smart, intuitive, and I like her.
EJ: And I'm sure there wasn't anybody else in the world who had those particular qualifications.
Brady: Well, I didn't need to search the whole world for anyone else because Taylor was right here in Salem. By the way, speaking of utter transparency, don't you think it's too obvious to everyone now that you're setting Nicole up yet again for a world of pain? Hm?
EJ: [Sighs] Brady, you're so predictable.
Brady: I'm predictable? How am I predictable?
EJ: Oh, you invoking the name of your precious Nicole, with whom you are clearly still in love. Does it still hurt that she chose me over you?
Brady: Does it hurt you to know that you'll never know the kind of love that Nicole and I had?
Brady: All you do is manipulate women for your own sordid purposes. You wouldn't know love if it bit you in the ass.
Fay: You really didn't have to take time off of work to be with me. I'm really fine on my own.
Taylor: Really? 'Cause that's not how EJ made it sound.
Fay: [Sighs] I'm sorry. You know, I shouldn't have said anything to him. It's just, when he called, we just started talking, and then I just admitted that I was a little lonely, that's all.
Taylor: W-wait a minute. It was EJ who called you?
Bo: For what?
Bo: Being a bit hard on yourself. Nothing new there.
Hope: We just look so happy in those photos. Life was simpler back then.
Bo: Ssssorta. But, um... I remember in the beginning things being a little more complicated. You thought I was just some hotheaded bad boy, and I knew you were just some rich, spoiled brat.
Hope: Brat. It's true. Oh, and I tried to convince myself, and you, with every ounce of my being that I couldn't stand you.
Bo: Hm. And even though you... kinda intimidated me and got on my nerves... couldn't get you out of my mind. I was obsessed with you.
Hope: Me, too.
Hope: You definitely know how to get to me. Push my every button. You know, actually, I think I was mad at you every minute of every day. Oh, and you know what? I hated it. Do you remember?
Hope: I hated--you used to call me little one.
Bo: [Laughing] Yeah. Yeah. But I do believe it was those differences that drove us together. Thinkin' they still do.
Hope: I love you, too.
Stephanie: So it looks like you've gotten over Nathan and Philip pretty quickly.
Melanie: Stephanie. Always a class act.
Stephanie: I was just about to say the same about you.
Melanie: I have to get back to work. Good talk.
Dario: What is?
Stephanie: Uh, Melanie. The sluttiness.
Stephanie: I suppose I shouldn't be too judgmental. I mean, she did have a really tough childhood. But it just kinda disgusts me that she can be married to one guy while being in love with someone else, and then not only dump her husband, but dump the guy that she's madly in love with, only to start flirting with the first hot guy she crosses paths with. What?
Dario: You think I'm hot.
Sami: Slurred speech. Uninhibited behavior. Aggressive, irrational--oh, my God. Oh, my God, how could I be so stupid? I did this to him. Drugging his drink without telling him. I'm such a moron. Oh, my God.
Rafe 2: Sami.
Rafe 2: What's taking you so long? 'Cause I'm ready.
Sami: Um...[Laughs nervously] I was just thinking. I think I know what you were trying to tell me before.
Rafe 2: Yeah? You don't hate me?
Sami: No, of course I don't hate you.
Rafe 2: [Laughs] Wah-ha-ha! So it's out in the open. Oh, finally. I-- oh, my God. Babe, this is it.
Rafe 2: What a relief. Now it's just you and me. Forget about that other loser. Right?
Rafe 2: Your ex. It's just us now, babe. That's it. Two of us.
Hope: When I think back... our initial problems started when--when we lost Zack.
Hope: And then our marriage really fell apart, I mean completely imploded, because of everything that happened with Ciara.
Bo: You're right.
Hope: When she was kidnapped.
Hope: The resentment, the bad feelings, it-- it all came to a head then.
Bo: Problem is, our--our daughter is the one who suffered the most. But you and I are gonna work through all that, right?
Hope: I want to. I do, I want to so much. But this time, we're not gonna rush it. This time we're gonna get it right. Right?
Bo: Why should we rush? We got the rest of our lives together. Huh?
Fay: Sweetheart. W--I mean, why on earth would I call EJ? [Sighs] I-I'm sorry. It's not that... he hasn't been very nice to me since I've been sick. I know he's my son-in-law. Again. I guess--I guess the truth is, is that I'm--I'm still trying to get over what he did to Nikki last time, and I'm just hoping that he doesn't hurt her again.
Taylor: Trust me, Mom, that's not gonna happen, okay?
Fay: Honey. That's one of the reasons I want you to live here, you know? I mean, not just to take care of me. To keep an eye out on your sister.
Taylor: I-I'm going to, Mom. I owe it to Nicole to make sure her life is happy. It's, you know, finally where she wants it to be. [Sighs]
Vivian: So is this latest nefarious plot of yours, uh, your brainstorm, uh, a collaboration, or did you out-source?
Kate: You know, I would really love to chat, but I have an appointment to watch paint dry.
Vivian: Oh, just a hint!
Kate: Goodbye, Vivian.
Vivian: I don't have to go looking around because I know what he's up to.
Kate: You're lying.
Vivian: Oh. Girl Scout's honor.
Kate: Oh, God.
Vivian: It's about little Allie.
Kate: What are you talking about? What about my granddaughter?
Rafe 2: Mm.
Sami: Forget about EJ? Is that what you're talking about?
Rafe 2: No. No, no, not him. Other one.
Sami: Okay, listen. I-I think I know what's wrong with you, what this all is about. This is your secret, right? What you didn't want to tell me? That you spiked your drink?
Rafe 2: Damn. I was wonderin' where I left that. And, um, sorry. You're mad at me now 'cause... I just... agh, I'm not thinkin' straight, you know?
Sami: Look, Rafe, I'm not mad at you about it. I just told you not to drink 'cause you had a head injury. It's not safe. Right?
Rafe 2: So you're not that mad. [Giggles] I'm--I'm relieved again. Um... well, it's a good thing I was drinkin' 'cause in the... vino, the truth is veritas. Right?
Sami: No, Rafe, please don't. You shouldn't drink, please. Don't drink any more, okay? Um...
Rafe 2: What?
Sami: Nothing, it--I just-- that--I don't understand. 'Cause I thought that was your secret. The drinking. But it's not?
Rafe 2: It--no. Pffft! No. It's not that at all. It's much more... um... mind-boggling. Hey! You're gonna wash the deck.
Brady: Well, you'll just have to tell Mr. Danny he's gonna have to wait. I'm at the hospital. I'm gonna be here a couple hours. That's what I said, a couple hours. Yeah, well-- uh, Jake, I'll call you back. Hey, what's wrong with you?
Melanie: Everything. What's not wrong? What's--what's right here? I feel awful.
Brady: About what?
Melanie: To top it off, that kid Dario that stole things, he was stealing 'em to find money for--
Brady: Um, Melanie, for what?
Melanie: To hire somebody to find the hit-and-run driver that killed Arianna.
Brady: What? What, does he think that we all didn't try?
Melanie: Yeah, that's right. He thinks none of us care.
Brady: Well, that's obviously ridiculous.
Melanie: Yeah, I know, that's how I feel. Telling us that loved her that we didn't love her enough. I know exactly how much you loved Arianna.
Brady: You know, I think about her every day. Every day.
Melanie: Of course you do. So do I. I mean, she was my best friend, and I never even had one of those before, and now I'm never gonna get one again.
Brady: Hello, hi. My--my name's Brady. How are you? What about me?
Melanie: You're a guy. You can't have guys as best friends.
Brady: Guys can be best friends to women. What's wrong with that?
Melanie: Fine. I'll make an exception for you.
Brady: Good. Let's seal it.
Stephanie: I refer to you as hot, and now you're my new best friend?
Dario: Not looking for a friend.
Stephanie: I'm sure you're not. But I'm just gonna warn you. Melanie's trouble.
Dario: And why is she trouble? What's her deal?
Stephanie: Uh, well, long story short, she, um, she conned her way through half the men in Europe. She had her own website called premier party girl.
Stephanie: I know. Wholesome, right? Oh, and she managed to get me locked up in a Marseilles prison by telling horrible lies about me. And over the next couple of years, she proceeded to steal not one, but two of my fiancés.
Stephanie: Yeah. Look, you seem like a really nice guy, so keep in mind, Melanie's a pro.
Dario: Yeah, um, first of all, I'm not that nice. And second, I can handle myself. And Melanie.
Taylor: Where do you get your nerve?
Taylor: That stunt you pulled at the pub with Brady?
EJ: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Taylor: It was you who called my mother, not the other way around.
EJ: Well, now, let's be fair.
Taylor: Don't play games with me, EJ!
EJ: Well, you will excuse me for being concerned about your mother's well-being. Oh, and just so that you know, she did ask me.
Taylor: She didn't need me immediately or urgently like you said she did, EJ. You--you concocted all of that drama just to-- just to get me away from Brady. You broke our deal, EJ, proving that you are, in fact, the liar that everybody says you are.
Vivian: So you really don't have a clue as to what your precious Stefano is up to.
Kate: Tell me what you know about my granddaughter.
Vivian: Oh, so much for you and your big, bad hubby sharing things.
Kate: Vivian, spit it out before I shake it out of you.
Vivian: Shouldn't you redirect your hostility? After all, it is your husband keeping secrets from you.
Kate: [Scoffs] Damn you.
Vivian: I am not the bad guy here.
Kate: No. No, you're just bluffing. You don't know a thing. You seriously don't think that I know what you're doing? You're trying to get under my skin. Well, I'm onto you, okay, and your pathetic little ploy to pump information from me to feed your sick need for revenge.
Vivian: Oh, you just keep trying to convince yourself, but it's written all over your face. There's something rotten in DiMera land. And I thought if I knew it, you certainly would.
Kate: Really? Really, if you're so sure of that, then why don't you just tell me what it is you think you know? Why don't you just drop the charade and drop the bomb, Vivian?
Vivian: Well, I would, you see, but Stefano doesn't want you to know. And I don't want to be the one to break his confidence in you.
Kate: No, no, no. No, you don't. I am not done with you.
Vivian: Oh, maybe you're not. But your husband is. Done with you, that is. Oh! God, you--
Vivian: Come here, you vile woman!
Kate: Damn you!
Vivian: Oh, my God! Oh!
Vivian: Oh, you idiot!
Sami: I'm waiting.
Rafe 2: Okay, first, l-lemme just say, you were s-so cool about the drinkin'. Because I thought... you were gonna be really pissed off about this. But you're not, and y-- I thought you might even throw me outta here, but you really are cool.
Sami: Are you serious? Rafe, I care about you. I love you.
Rafe 2: You do? You really do, you do, don't you? Oh! You love me! Right? You do.
Sami: Why are you saying it like that? Like you have to remind yourself, like you doubt it.
Rafe 2: Because I am not my old self.
Sami: I realize that.
Rafe 2: N-n-no, no. I'm really not. Don't you see? Can't you tell?
Hope: Theo, Ciara, we're running out to the car, honey, putting a few things in there. We'll be right back.
Theo: You're sad.
Ciara: My mommy and daddy broke up because of me. Now there's only one thing to do. I have to run away.
Theo: Run away?
Ciara: So it won't happen again. But you'll pinky-promise me not to tell anybody.
Theo: I won't. I'll run with you, okay?
EJ: You have some very funny ideas about me.
Taylor: You broke your word. EJ, can't you even be honest about that?
EJ: Fine. Do you want me to admit it? 'Cause I will. I just seem to lose control when I'm around... you. Don't really seem to be able to exercise any kind of self-restraint. I mean, is that what you want to hear? Hm?
Vivian: Get off of--
Kate: Let go of me!
Vivian: You twit!
Manager: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What is wrong with you two?
Kate: You better be very careful. Because if you're coming after me and my husband, you're the one who should be afraid.
Vivian: What's the matter? You never saw a woman with cake on her face? God. Well... maybe I can have my cake and eat it, too. Just have to find out what Stefano's planning to do with Sami and Rafe.
Sami: I can see that you're having a hard time. And you should probably go back to bed.
Rafe 2: [Laughing] Hard time? I-I'm havin' a great-- I'm having a wonderful time, actually.
Sami: Yeah, I'm sure you are, but come on. Let me take you back to bed.
Rafe 2: You know, just sit down. Just-- don't you get it? Don't you see? I'm not... me. I'm not me because of the-- the booze or the--the blow that I had to the head.
Sami: Okay, okay. Then what do you mean? Because I just want you to come right out and say it. No more riddles.
Rafe 2: I'm me!
On the next “Days of our Lives" --
Stefano: What happened, son?
EJ: I'm in love with Taylor.
Sami: What is wrong with you?
