Nicole: Here ya go.

Taylor: Oh, thanks. Last drink for me.

Nicole: Okay. EJ?

EJ: Oh, no, I'm fine. Thank you.

Nicole: Good. Okay.

Taylor: [Sighs] Dinner was great. Uh, thank you guys so much.

Nicole: Yeah, um...

EJ: You're welcome.

Nicole: Chef Assange. Uh, won a Michelin... Michelin Star years ago.

EJ: [French accent] Michelin.

Nicole: Years ago, something like that, right?

EJ: It's Michelin Star.

Nicole: Oh... Michelin.

EJ: Michelin. He won it for a restaurant he had in Melbourne.

Taylor: Oh, wow. Now he works for you?

EJ: Yes, he does. We're very lucky to have him.

Taylor: Well, be sure and tell him it was amazing.

Nicole: Well, you can tell him yourself now that you're living here.

EJ: So... how's Faye?

Nicole: She's good.

EJ: She good?

Nicole: She's good, we just checked in on her and she's sleeping. She's all settled into the guest house.

Taylor: I just hope she gets better soon. Uh, so I can get out of your house. And your hair, your house. Yeah.

Nicole: What...what? What's the hurry? We love having you here. Don't we, honey?

EJ: Hmm?

Stefano: What is that?

Ted: Looks like a key to something.

Stefano: I can see that it's a key, you damn fool! But what the hell has he got it for?

Ted: I don't know, sir. He had it on him when he got here. And I didn't see it next time I was guarding him. But now, I guess he put it back.

Stefano: Well, get rid of the damn thing, all right? We took his watch, we took his wallet, we took his wedding ring. Look, it does no good to obliterate his memory if we don't cut off every tie he's ever had with his past. Understood?

Ted: Yes, sir. No problem, sir.

Melanie: Seriously, how long have we been here? Like, six hours?

Brady: Melanie, relax.

Melanie: Shouldn't Rafe have taken our statement by now? What's going on?

Brady: Maybe I should take you home, okay? And then the police can come by when you're ready to be questioned.

Melanie: No, no, no, no! Today has been bad enough, and it's not gonna get any better until that thief is behind bars.

Dario: So? Come on, give it to me. You know you want to.

Rafe 2: Honestly, I have no idea what you're even talking--

Gabi: Dario!

Sami: Dario?

Rafe 2: Dario. He's my brother.

Philip: Hey.

Chloe: Hmm?

Philip: Here you are.

Chloe: What's this?

Philip: Oh, you want me to tell you what it is before you open it?

Chloe: Philip, you shouldn't have.

Philip: I know I didn't have to, but...see what's inside. Go on. Open it.

Chloe: Opera tickets.

Philip: Box seats.

Chloe: Oh, that is so sweet of you, but...

Philip: But what?

Chloe: Well, there's two tickets and Parker's a little young for Tosca, don't you think?

Philip: I was hoping you'd take me.

Chloe: You hate opera.

Philip: Hate is a strong word. I just dislike it intensely.

Chloe: So why would you wanna sit there bored out of your mind?

Philip: Maybe you should take Parker then. You know, if he's picked from the right gene pool he's gonna be a musical prodigy. We need to encourage him to cultivate an appreciation.

Chloe: Thank you so much. But you really shouldn't have.

Philip: Stop saying that.

Chloe: Seriously, you've been more than generous by letting me stay here.

Philip: I want you here. I want Parker to have his mother around; why wouldn't I?

[Doorbell rings]

Philip: I got it, Henderson.

Daniel: Bad time?

Dario: Go ahead. Start with a lecture. Tell me what a burden I am, not to mention what a screw-up. Go ahead. You know you're dying to set me straight, so just do it.

Rafe 2: You know, I was surprised to see you, that's all. Been a long time. I expected maybe a phone call or a knock at the door, not to see you show up here in cuffs.

Dario: Surprised--it's not like it's the first time.

Rafe 2: Yeah, I guess you're right.

Dario: You guess? Wow, marriage has really softened you up, huh, brother? I bet you haven't bothered to tell your new wife about your long lost brother, huh? The king of misdemeanors?

Sami: No, he's definitely mentioned you. I mean, not the way that it sounded. I'm Sami, I'm his wife. I just--I'm flustered, sorry, because I just never expected to meet you like this.

Will: Me either.

Rafe 2: Sami, what are you doing here?

Sami: I came to talk to you about something important. But obviously I can wait.

Gabi: Rafe, uh, can I talk to you for a minute?

Rafe 2: Yeah. You--give me a second.

Sami: Um, hey, listen. I'm really sorry that you and the rest of your family couldn't come to our wedding. I mean, I know it was so short notice and everything.

Dario: Don't be sorry on my account. There was no way I was going to the wedding.

[Cell phone rings]

Stefano: What is it?

Rafe 2: Yeah, it's me. We got a big problem. Big.

Sami: So you didn't wanna come to our wedding?

Dario: I'm sorry if that offends you.

Sami: How could it not?

Dario: Well, don't take this personally but it wasn't high on my list of priorities, you know?

Sami: I do now.

Gabi: What about Arianna's memorial? Was that not "high on your list of priorities" either?

Dario: How dare you. You know how I felt about Ari.

Gabi: You weren't there, Dario.

Dario: I had my reasons.

Gabi: Too bad you didn't share any of them with us.

Sami: Oh, I remember now.

Dario: Remember what?

Sami: Oh, um, Gabi has mentioned you. That's all. She's mentioned you to me.

Dario: Oh, really? What'd you say? Wait till you meet my favorite brother. Heart of gold, wouldn't hurt a fly.

Sami: That's not quite how she put it.

Gabi: Look, what I said was that you make Mom and the rest of us crazy, okay? Because no matter how much we love you, you never seem to be able to stay out of trouble.

Dario: Well, that's one way of putting it. Too black and white for my taste, but what can you do?

Gabi: I just hope we got here in time to help you.

Dario: Help me? Help me how, Gabriela? Save me from myself, huh?

Gabi: If only.

Dario: Help me mend my ways once and for all.

Gabi: Yeah, if only.

Dario: If only that weren't such a load of crap.

Will: Hey, um, Dario? Do not talk to her like that.

Dario: How about you don't talk to me at all?

Gabi: Okay, that's it! Stop! Sami is family now, and so is Will.

Dario: Oh, yeah?

Gabi: Yes. Will is Sami's son and he and I are good friends.

Dario: How good?

Gabi: Oh, that's none of your business.

Dario: Unreal--you're dating your sister-in-law's kid?

Gabi: So what if I am? I mean, what's the problem, Dario?

Dario: I don't have a problem with it, I'm just wondering why you don't.

Philip: If you've come to see my father, he's not here.

Daniel: Well, actually I came to see Chloe.

Philip: No. No chance.

Daniel: Philip, if you'll just let me--

Philip: Hey, you heard what I said. Not gonna happen.

Nicole: Ooh! This is where I'm supposed to tell you that my sister worked two years in an orphanage in Romania. Which is why she prefers to sleep on the floor. [Laughing]

Taylor: Nicole.

Nicole: What? I can't brag about my sister?

Taylor: I think you're making fun of me. [Laughing]

Nicole: No, no. Taylor, I'm--I'm extremely proud of you, and I'm so glad you are back in my life.

Taylor: Same here.

EJ: Uh, if it would make you feel more comfortable, Taylor, obviously we could take the bed out of your room. You could sleep on the floor.

Nicole: [Laughing]

EJ: Sorry. It's a bad joke. Especially considering that you just told me you don't like people teasing you about your time in Romania. Which is obviously honorable, admirable, and should in fact be applauded.

Taylor: Thanks.

EJ: Yeah.

Nicole: How about another drink? Anyone? Someone?

EJ: Fine.

Taylor: Oh, no. Not for me. Yeah, it is way past my bedtime.

Nicole: You sure, Taylor? I mean, we could always play charades, you know? Two syllables. It was a joke. Remember? Jokes?

Taylor: Night, guys.

Nicole: Sleep tight, Taylor.

EJ: Good night. What are you looking at me like that for? She did not leave because of me.

Nicole: Oh, yes, she did.

EJ: No, she didn't.

Nicole: Yes, she did.

Rafe 2: Yeah, so one of Hernandez's, like, 200 siblings shows up at the PD, in cuffs, out of nowhere. It took me a minute to place his face. Dario.

Stefano: Oh, God. You know, you better get back here as soon as possible for a refresher course on the Hernandez family history.

Rafe 2: Yeah, sure, I'll be back there as soon as I get a sec.

Stefano: In the meantime, make as little contact as possible, all right? And remember, you and your brother hate each other's guts!

Rafe 2: Oh, yeah. Oh, I get that. In fact, I could strangle him right now.

Ted: All set. He's got a fashion--a whole new wardrobe. Whole new look. From the hair gel to the socks, nothing will remind him of his old life.

Stefano: Excellent work, Ted.

Ted: Thank you, sir.

Stefano: Perhaps you'll be useful after all. [Laughing] Look, I'll be back shortly. If he wakes up, call me.

Ted: Will do. See that? I'm useful. Who knows? Maybe there will be a bump in pay grade. Wait, I thought I put that key... oh, well. It's just a stupid key. Besides, where you're going, you're not going to need a key. You're not gonna need a damn thing.

Gabi: Okay, um, I got my hands on the surveillance disc of Dario pawning my earrings off.

Rafe 2: Yeah? How'd you do that?

Gabi: Well, it doesn't really matter. I just--I feel guilty now, having filed a stolen property report knowing that it's Dario who did the stealing. So I was thinking that maybe you could pull a few strings so that he wouldn't have to go to jail.

Rafe 2: Yeah, well, it's not that simple. You're not the only person that he stole from.

Gabi: Yeah, but--

Rafe 2: Now, the other victims, they're hell bent on pressing charges. So it's out of my hands.

Gabi: So what are you saying?

Rafe 2: Well, I'm saying that even if I wanted to make this go away, I can't. All right?

Gabi: I don't believe this.

Rafe 2: Hey. Hey, relax. Everything's gonna be fine. It all works out in the end. Promise.

Will: What's going on?

Gabi: Nothing good.

Will: Well, tell me.

Gabi: It's just my brother Rafe, he seems so-- he seems so cold. You'd think he was a stranger or something.

Rafe 2: Well, sorry for the delay.

Melanie: Do you have any idea how long we've been waiting?

Brady: I thought this stuff was routine.

Rafe 2: Well, not exactly. There's been a bit of a hiccup.

Melanie: I'm sorry, a hiccup?

Rafe 2: Yeah. Our perp says that he didn't steal your necklace. And since there was no eyewitness to the crime...

Melanie: God, you've gotta be kidding me.

Rafe 2: No, what I am saying is, you have to be very clear on his intent, if you want the charges to stick.

Melanie: I have been very clear on his intent. He stole my necklace. He plucked it off my neck, and he pocketed it. He's a thief, and not only is he a thief, he's a bad one and he needs to be in jail! Rafe 2: Well, all righty then.

Chloe: Philip. It's okay.

Philip: You sure?

Chloe: Yeah.

Philip: All right, I'll be in the next room if you need me.

Chloe: Thanks. Hey.

Daniel: Hey. I'll keep this brief. I feel like I owe it to you to warn you that papers will be coming soon.

Chloe: What sort of papers?

Daniel: Papers that legally end our marriage. I'm filing for a divorce, Chloe.

EJ: Nicole, what could I possibly have done to upset your sister?

Nicole: Oh, please. As if you don't know.

EJ: Actually, no. Actually, I don't. I don't have a clue.

Nicole: You acted like you didn't even want her here.

EJ: How did I do that, exactly?

Nicole: Well, first of all, you didn't even ask her about her life, or her past. It was like you weren't even interested.

EJ: She didn't ask me about my life or my past.

Nicole: So? That's different.

EJ: How is that different, exactly?

Nicole: Because she's a guest, EJ. She just arrived here in Salem.

EJ: Oh, I see. So it's perfectly acceptable for her to have absolutely no interest in my life whatsoever. Somehow, I have to be absolutely fascinated by hers. Is that right?

Nicole: Yes.

EJ: What should I have asked her? Taylor, what is your favorite color? Taylor, do you prefer sitting down or standing up?

Nicole: Okay, all right. You know what? All right, I didn't expect you to interrogate her, all right? I just didn't think that you would act so bored and uninterested.

EJ: I was bored! I was uninterested!

Nicole: You didn't even look at her.

EJ: I didn't--

Nicole: You made some snide remark about taking her bed out of her room. Wow, ha ha, that's it, though.

EJ: Nicole, I welcomed your sister and your mother into my house.

Nicole: Yeah, right. With a lot of persuasion.

EJ: I'm sorry if I had some reservations.

Nicole: You have more than reservations, EJ.

EJ: Yeah. Because I have to deal with more people being in my house, getting under my feet. And I'm the one who has to go out there and explain to my father why somebody who he doesn't care for is moving into his guest house. And why do I do this? Because you come to me and you tell me this is important to you. And if it's important to you, it's important to me. And I want to make you happy!

Nicole: You mean that?

EJ: Yeah.

Rafe 2: Sorry, kid. But it doesn't look like the girl in there is gonna change her mind. She's pressing charges.

Dario: What's going on with you?

Rafe 2: Pardon?

Dario: Pardon? Uh-uh. Something's different. You're different. Something's changed. You're not the brother I grew up with.

Chloe: Thank you. That was good of you to come and tell me in person. And I understand that this is how it has to be.

Daniel: Yes. Yeah, it does.

Chloe: I love you, Daniel. I always will. But I realize that I deserve everything that happened to me.

Daniel: No. No, you deserve to be happy. You need help and you're getting it. And every day it'll, uh, I guess it will get easier. You--you are... you're gonna be okay.

Chloe: And you are gonna be better than okay.

Daniel: Yeah. I guess I'll be going.

Chloe: Right. Good-bye, Daniel.

Daniel: Good-bye, Chloe.

Brady: Where's your dad?

Melanie: I don't know. Hmm. You can go home, I'm a big girl.

Brady: I know you're a big girl, I just, uh... honestly, I'm procrastinating. I don't even want to go back to that zoo I call home.

Melanie: That's fair. How's Parker?

Brady: Parker. Parker's great. Parker's actually the only person there that I'm interested in talking to.

Melanie: Well, see, now that's saying something since all he can really do is gurgle.

Brady: Yeah, but he gurgles really cute. You know, it's not a mean, nasty gurgle.

Melanie: Well, sure. Give him a kiss for me.

Brady: I will. Hey, um, I'm really sorry. I am really sorry about the baby and Philip.

Melanie: It just wasn't meant to be. Yeah, that's what I keep telling myself.

Rafe 2: So I'm different, huh? What do you mean? Like I'm not your brother?

Dario: The Rafe I know was always such a hard-ass. He would never say he was sorry. He would have let me rot in jail, learn my lesson, and take it like a man.

Rafe 2: Well, maybe so. But judging by the way things have gone, it doesn't look like that's working out for you so well, baby bro. Or maybe you're just a real slow study.

Dario: There we go. There we go, there's the Rafe I know and love.

Rafe 2: All right. Good.

Stefano: Rise and shine, big fella. [Chuckling] Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Philip: What did he want?

Chloe: He wanted to let me know that he's filing for divorce.

Philip: I had a feeling.

Chloe: Not like I didn't know it was coming, but even with all this time to prepare, I didn't realize that it would hit me like this. Like I'm losing everything all over again.

Melanie: So I never congratulated you on your big Titan takeover. How does it feel to own a small island nation? Or run it...or...whatever it is you're doing over there?

Brady: It's all right, I guess.

Melanie: Lonely at the top?

Brady: No, I think the whole "lonely" thing is completely underrated, actually.

Melanie: See, I happen to agree with you. More power to the lonely people, you know? Independence.

Brady: You would know. You're the most independent person I know.

Melanie: Oh, I'd like to think so.

Brady: I mean, it's not like, uh, you have Nathan waiting in the wings for you or anything.

Melanie: I don't want Nathan waiting.

Brady: Don't you want to be honest with me?

Melanie: For a long time, maybe deep down, I wanted there to be a future with Nathan. And I, um... but these last couple of weeks have made me see that...

Brady: See what?

Melanie: There was a time when Nathan and I could be together. And that time has passed. And we're never gonna get it back again.

Sami: Look, Dario, I realize that you've been out of touch with your family for a while. So you probably don't know that Rafe was in a very serious car accident. He almost died.

Dario: When was that?

Sami: Several weeks ago. He, um, he obviously survived, but he had some fairly serious head trauma.

Dario: How could you tell?

Sami: He's been going through a lot. And he hasn't been himself lately. But seeing you, you brought out--

Dario: The jerk in him.

Sami: He is toughest on the people that he cares about most. I certainly know that. And seeing you again, I think you may have helped him find himself. And if that is true, I owe you a big thank you.

Taylor: Do they do anything but drink alcohol in this house?

Nicole: Oh, hi, there.

Taylor: Oh, hi. I was just getting myself a club soda.

Nicole: Hey, I'd love one too.

Taylor: Oh, okay.

Nicole: Thanks. Brandon just called.

Taylor: Oh, yeah? What'd he say?

Nicole: Just that, uh, he's happy we're taking care of Mom and that he'll try to come visit down the road.

Taylor: Mm. That's great.

Nicole: Yeah. You haven't seen my husband, have you?

Taylor: No. Uh-uh, nope.

Nicole: Couldn't sleep?

Taylor: Yeah, I'm not used to drinking so much. Too much booze and I kind of get the toss and turns.

Nicole: Ah, yes, playing sheet karate, I know that well. You know, I have some sleeping pills if you--

Taylor: No, club soda is fine, thanks.

Nicole: Okay. Well, um, I'm gonna go look for EJ. So if you need anything else, just let me know, okay?

Taylor: I will, thanks.

Nicole: Sure.

Brady: Hey, man.

Daniel: Hey. Brady. Mel. What's going on?

Brady: Uh...Melanie was robbed this afternoon.

Daniel: What?

Melanie: Uh, it's--I'm fine. I'm fine, Brady saved me.

Brady: I didn't--uh, she didn't need saving, trust me. But I was there, took care of it. Everything's fine. And she--have you seen this girl fight? Your daughter is tough as nails.

Daniel: Yeah?

Brady: I was proud of her.

Daniel: That's great. That-a-girl.

Melanie: [Giggling]

Rafe 2: All right, social hour is over. Take him to lock-up.

Gabi: No, no, no, can I have just one more minute, please? Let me just talk to him, Rafe.

Rafe 2: Okay, one minute.

Gabi: Thank you.

Rafe 2: Yeah. No special favors.

Will: So...after I threatened to call Uncle Bo, the pawn shop owner finally gave me the disc.

Sami: Right.

Will: So what about you? What are you doing here?

Sami: I came to talk to Rafe about the thing with Johnny.

Will: Oh, about beating up the bully in school.

Sami: I found out it was more than that. He was giving him lessons on how to hit the kid.

Will: Okay. Well, Mom, if someone's calling my kid brother "Cyclops," I think it's justified for Johnny to give the little dirt bag a right hook, okay? Some kids have to learn respect the hard way.

Sami: So you really think that that's all Rafe meant by that? Just to help Johnny learn to stand up for himself?

Will: Yeah. I mean, it's a guy thing. And plus, Mom, you're a long way from the school yard, okay? You gotta put yourself in their shoes sometimes.

Sami: All right. You know, I see your point, and actually it makes me feel better.

Will: Because it's true.

Sami: Thanks. It's just, I'm so worried about Rafe. Everything he does seems so different, and I guess maybe I've lost perspective. But if you're right, and this whole thing with Dario, maybe he's finding himself again.

Rafe: The first day... of the rest of my life? What will I be doing?

Stefano: Today?

Rafe: The rest of my life?

Stefano: You could be folding socks, you could be, uh, ironing sheets. You could be selling hot dogs. Who knows, eh? But whatever it would be, you don't know how fortunate you are to leave the old you behind.

Gabi: I just--I don't get it, Dario. Why wouldn't you tell us you were in town?

Dario: I gotta give you a reason for everything?

Gabi: Well, for this... yeah, you do.

Dario: Just lay off, Gabi. Will you, okay?

Gabi: Look, you stole from me. And I don't understand why you think you had to. Rafe and I would have helped you, you know that.

Dario: No, I don't.

Gabi: What? How could you not? We've never turned our backs on you, ever.

Dario: Look, just leave me alone. I don't need this now, okay? And you know what? You can stop pretending like you care. Because I don't want either of you in my life.

Rafe 2: Fine by me. Come on, let's go.

Sami: Rafe--

Rafe 2: This clown's made it clear he wants to be here.

Sami: Well, I think you should stay, don't you?

Rafe 2: Uh, no, actually. I wanna go home, be with my wife. Come on.

Taylor: Sorry.

EJ: Hey.

Taylor: I, uh, I thought I was alone down here. I was just...

Nicole: Oh! I see you found him.

Taylor: Uh...

Will: Why do you let him talk to you like that?

Gabi: Look, he's messed up, okay? I know Rafe thinks he needs to show tough love, but Dario needs help.

Will: Okay, after what he did to you, and then the way that he treated you--

Gabi: Well, he's family. Okay? We take the good and the bad. So are you with me? Or am I alone on this one?

Will: You know I'm with you, Gabi. Always.

Officer: Not sure why you're smiling. Looking forward to a night in jail?

Dario: For what I came here to do, it's a small price to pay.

Rafe 2: Aah. Boy, oh, boy, this day couldn't end soon enough.

Sami: Yeah. Rafe, I'm sorry.

Rafe 2: Yeah. Me too.

Sami: I've had my fair share of sibling drama. I know that must have been hard for you.

Rafe 2: Yeah. It was.

Sami: So you two never got along?

Rafe 2: Uh... no. He was just...too different.

Sami: I mean, I always pictured you the big brother. The way you told me stories, I guess I got the impression that he would follow you around, wanted to be just like you.

Rafe 2: [Laughing] No, no... I don't know. [Sighs] I'm beat. I'm gonna jump in the shower.

Sami: Okay. I'll be here.

Stefano: Well... time to say good-bye.

Rafe: Good-bye.

Stefano: Wait for my call. And watch him... very carefully.

Rafe: [Thinking to himself] I'm not sure what this is. But it's all I've got. I don't think I should let it go.

Taylor: Well... uh, I'm going to bed. Again. Good night.

Nicole: Okay, good night.

Taylor: Good night.

Nicole: Hmm. Bed. Sounds good. Care to join me?

EJ: Uh, I'd love to. I'll see you up there in a minute.

On the next “Days of our Lives" --

Melanie: You son of a--

Justin: Whoa, whoa, whoa!

Melanie: Come here, Dario!

Justin: Melanie, Melanie!

Taylor: How do you really feel about my sister?

Jennifer: I have decided to divorce your father.
