Bo: Wow, that is good stuff. Got rid of the crick in my neck. Whoa. Or it is a good trip? Sorry you can't come on it with me there, Janie.
Warden Smith: Darling, that's the truth serum talking.
Bo: Okay, whatever.
Hope: Damn it. Damn thing must have a virus. Wait. Stop, think, Hope. I don't understand. You updated the anti-virus software. This is a targeted attack. Oh, my God. They're on to us.
EJ: Dr. Jonas. Hey, has Samantha come in yet?
Daniel: Uh, Sami and Rafe got here a couple of minutes ago.
EJ: Are they in with Johnny?
Daniel: Not yet.
EJ: If you don't mind, I'd like to just spend a bit of time with him.
Daniel: Well, actually, there's been a slight change in plans.
Vivian: Aah! Oh! What are you doing, sneaking up on me like that?
Gus: About last night.
Vivian: Oh, God. [Airplane flying overhead] Oh! Oh, my God. Gus, we've been saved. Your sign worked. We're being saved!
Maggie: Victor, those alarms are going off in my head again. Just what does "V.A." stand for? Ah...oh, my God. What have you done to Vivian now?
Victor: That's not even my handwriting. That's Kate's.
Maggie: Oh, so what! Whether it's your handwriting or not, it's got nothing to do with it.
Victor: Well, either way you're making quite a leap, Maggie. I mean, V.A. could... could stand for almost anything.
Maggie: But it doesn't. It stands for Vivian Alamain. She's on that island, isn't she? Isn't she?
Philip: You have to tell me. Are you carrying our baby?
Melanie: You've obviously been talking to Chloe.
Philip: Is she right?
Melanie: I told her I'm not pregnant.
Philip: And that's the truth?
Melanie: Yes. You just leave me alone.
Daniel: Excuse me. You know, Johnny, he's, uh--he's still asleep, so we're gonna have to postpone the bandage removal until he wakes up.
EJ: Okay. He is all right, though. Yes?
Daniel: Oh, yes, yes.
Lexie: Oh, EJ? Um, excuse me. Can I talk to you for a minute?
EJ: Of course, excuse me.
EJ: [Clears throat] What's going on?
Lexie: Uh, where's father?
EJ: I don't know. I mean, I decided not to tell him Johnny was having his bandages removed today.
EJ: I felt it was best that he waited a little while.
Lexie: Why don't you think he should be here?
EJ: I don't know. Look, apparently he's not feeling very well, anyway. Kate's looking after him.
EJ: Ah... don't ask.
Lexie: Okay, um... look, I, uh--I want to talk to you about Johnny. All right? I just--I just want you to be prepared. Even if we're able to save his vision, there's--there's a strong likelihood that it will be affected to some degree.
EJ: Lexie, is my son going to be able to see, or not?
Lexie: That, well-- we'll just have to wait and see, EJ, okay? I... look, I understand what you're going through. I know what it's like to watch the frustrations of your child--
EJ: Lexie, you'll have to excuse me, but I really don't care to listen to you relate. All right? It's patronizing and depressing.
Lexie: Patronizing? EJ, no. Honey, I just meant--
EJ: My son is not going to have to struggle. All right? He's going to have a normal life. Whatever the outcome of his operation. You hear me?
Rafe: Whatever happens, Johnny is the bravest kid on the planet. I'm telling you, he will overcome whatever is in front of him. And he'll be stronger for it. Because that's who he is. Four years old, he's got all that fighting spirit.
Sami: I don't want him to have to overcome things. He's just a little boy. And I want him to have an easy, happy, normal childhood. Why does he have to face this?
Rafe: I know, I know, I know. I understand. And you're right. Sure, it would be easier for him if he didn't have to go through all this. But I'm telling you, he's gonna make it through. And he's gonna be better for it. That's just who he is, I really believe that. Come here. All right?
Ben: You lied to me.
Jennifer: How? What did I do?
Ben: Well, inviting me out to coffee twice in one day. And then springing all these pastries on me.
Jennifer: Okay, well, I just wanted to up the ante a little bit. No, actually, the truth is, I have a horrible sweet tooth. So this is really--really for me. It's for you too, though.
Ben: Well, you didn't have to do this, Jennifer.
Jennifer: Yeah, I guess you're right. But, um, I wanted to. Also...
Jennifer: Um, I have an ulterior motive.
Ben: Oh, her big secret revealed.
Jennifer: Well, I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions about your volunteer work. At the prison.
Warden Smith: Where is she?
Bo: Well... since you ask so nicely... aah, forget it. Uh!
Warden Smith: I'm impressed. You're stronger than I imagined.
Bo: Well, I'm not surprised. Considering the limitations of your imagination.
Warden Smith: Maybe it's because the drug hasn't taken full effect yet.
Bo: Or it's because... your sick little plan isn't gonna work. I am never gonna tell you where Hope is.
Warden Smith: Never... say never.
Jennifer: I didn't mean to overstep. I just feel like since I came back to Salem, I feel like I'm at loose ends everywhere and I'm just feeling like I need to give back. And you know, when you mentioned that you were going to be volunteering at the prison infirmary, I thought, "wow, that could be a really rewarding thing for me to do also."
Ben: Maybe somewhere else.
Jennifer: Excuse me?
Ben: Not at the prison, Jennifer. Stay away from that place.
Leo: Hope! It's me.
Hope: Leo, thank God. Did you get it?
Leo: Right here.
Sami: You know, when we lost Grace, I thought I would never be able to have faith again. But I do.
Rafe: What's that thing your grandma always says?
Sami: God is the goodness in all of us.
Rafe: Yeah...that. I like it.
Sami: He gave me my beautiful children. He gave me you. I am lucky. I'm blessed.
Nicole: Hey. EJ. Look at me. You have to promise that even if it's not the news you're looking for--
EJ: What, hmm? Promise you what? That I won't fall to pieces? What's that got to do with you? Hm? Why do you care how I feel? It's my son we're talking about.
Nicole: I know that. I just meant--
EJ: You're being negative and pessimistic and I'm not going to have that about my son. You hear me? together.
Melanie: You don't see what she's doing? Chloe's telling you I'm pregnant because she's trying to distract you from being a father to Parker. And she's delusional if she thinks that that's actually going to get her and Daniel back together.
Philip: But Chloe said you were sick.
Melanie: I am sick. Thinking about you makes me sick. Thinking about what you did to me, to my father, makes me sick. Remembering that I wanted to bring a child into this world with you makes me sick, Philip. In fact, it's making me a little nauseous right now.
Philip: You're not a very good liar.
Melanie: I used to be. And then you helped me get through that. Silly me.
Philip: You wanted a baby. But now you don't. Which is why you lied. You were going to get rid of it. And never tell me you were pregnant. I'm right, aren't I? The truth this time.
[Plane flying overhead]
[Something falling from sky]
Gus: Madame, look out!
Victor: All right, apparently Vivian is here. Or here, I'm a little fuzzy on the details. Technically, I had nothing to do with it.
Maggie: Oh, yeah, sure. I'm sure you're an innocent in all of this.
Victor: I didn't say that.
Maggie: It's not right, Victor. You are just as wretched as she is if you resort to this type of thing. So you're gonna put a stop to it.
Victor: Just what do you suggest?
Maggie: That you rescue the poor woman--what else? So will you?
Vivian: Oh, my God. Somebody up there is trying to kill us. Why do I get my hopes up only to have them dashed again?
Gus: We mustn't lose faith.
Vivian: How can we not, Gus? We're in the fourth circle of hell. I mean, we've got white sand and palm trees and a perfectly beautiful ocean view. But take my word for it, we're dead meat.
Gus: No, I won't give up.
Vivian: Well, then you're a bigger idiot than I thought, Gus. We're cursed. We haven't even been saved, but I almost got killed by a hailstorm of peas and carrots. The almighty is just playing with us. I can see my obituary now. Vivian Alamain, eaten alive by sand crabs.
Gus: The box. There's wine, and caviar.
Vivian: What? Wine? Oh! Oh, my God!
EJ: Lexie, is Johnny awake yet?
Lexie: That's what I came to tell you. We're ready to remove the bandages.
Warden Smith: Having fun yet?
Bo: [Spits] Okay, all right. I'll tell you where Hope is.
Leo: Totally untraceable. I had my tech guy modify the sim card.
Hope: You're a genius.
Leo: No, just well connected. Where's Bo?
Hope: He went out on a fact-finding mission. He hasn't come back.
Leo: Well, that's no good.
Hope: Yeah, tell me about it.
Leo: How can I help?
Hope: I don't want to put you in danger.
Leo: No, I can take care of myself. What can I do? I want to help.
Hope: Okay. Fine. Then go here and tell me what you find.
Jennifer: I don't understand. Why should I stay away from the prison? I know. You're afraid you're gonna see too much of me.
Ben: No, that's not it. Of course not.
Jennifer: Well, then what?
Ben: Well, it's just that, after having been there for an interview... it's just not a good place for a woman like you to be.
Jennifer: Wait, what do you mean, "a woman like me"?
Ben: Sweet, kind... beautiful.
Jennifer: Well, it's been a long time since anyone said those things to me.
Ben: If that's true, then something is wrong with your husband.
EJ: Look, Lexie. I don't wish Johnny to be overwhelmed. Or to think that everybody's worried. And if we all descend on him at once--
Lexie: No, no, no, I agree. It should just be you and Sami.
Rafe: No, no, please. Go.
Sami: Hey, sweetheart.
EJ: Hey, Tiger.
Sami: Hi, mommy and daddy are both here. Can you hear us? We're both here with you, okay?
EJ: We heard you've been very, very brave and tough. We're both very proud of you.
EJ: So would you like us to take that nasty bandage off?
Sami: Okay. Okay.
Daniel: All right. Everyone's here. Right here. Okay? I'm right here.
[Cell phone ringing]
Hope: Leo, anything?
Leo: I checked the area thoroughly. No signs of Bo. But there are definitely signs of struggle.
Hope: That's exactly what I was afraid of.
Jennifer: Hey, there.
Nathan: Hey, Jennifer.
Ben: Oh, hey.
Nathan: Dr. Walters.
Ben: Nathan, how are you doing?
Nathan: Good, how are you doing?
Ben: Good. Listen, hey, do you mind helping me persuade your cousin that she would be a big help to us at the hospital?
Nathan: I don't need to. Jen knows that already. She's volunteered there forever.
Ben: So what is this? Why would you want to volunteer somewhere else?
Nathan: Did I miss something?
Jennifer: No, no, I just-- you know, I just want to spread my wings a little bit. Hey, I heard that you are going to stay in Salem. I'm glad to hear that.
Nathan: Yeah, uh, me too.
Ben: [Clears throat]
Philip: You're not gonna answer me? You had such a hard time forgiving Carly because she kept you from your dad. If you're pregnant with my kid, a baby we both wanted... then this kid is mine, too. And if you were seriously thinking of having it aborted--
Melanie: You're so arrogant. What makes you think you have a say in what I do? I've already made up my mind.
Philip: Melanie, no! You can't do this, you can't.
Melanie: I'm not--I'm not terminating the pregnancy. I want this baby. I'm gonna love it and raise it. I'm gonna have this child.
Victor: Rescue Vivian Alamain? Come on, Maggie!
Maggie: It's the humane thing to do, Victor. My God, why can't you see that?
Victor: I can assure you that she's being very well taken care of. She has nearly all the comforts of home.
Maggie: The comforts of home. A deserted island with no way out. Oh, man. Have I ever made a mistake.
Maggie: Giving you the benefit of the doubt. Ever. Thinking that you actually had the potential to be... a decent human being.
Vivian: Ooh, not only is there wine, but it's fine wine. Oh!
Gus: 1979. I'm no expert, but I'm sure that was a good year for this wine.
Vivian: Why is Brady being so kind to us?
Gus: There's no opener. No corkscrew.
Vivian: Well, what about the can opener?
Gus: That's not going to help with this.
Vivian: Well, why did they send this? Just to tantalize us? Torture us?
Gus: [Sighs] Possibly.
Vivian: Definitely. They're gonna pay a big price for this. As God is my witness, I will get off this island.
Gus: I hate to point out the obvious, Madame, but you've said that about 100 times already.
Vivian: Well, I haven't said this. As God is my witness, I will open this bottle with my teeth if I have to!
Daniel: All right. All right, now take your time, Johnny. It might take a while for things to come into focus, okay?
EJ: Johnny, how many fingers is Dr. Jonas holding up?
Daniel: Try it again.
Johnny: Two up and eight down.
Sami: [Crying] Oh, my little math wizard. That's awesome!
EJ: Johnny, that's wonderful news.
Carly: Guys, I know you're excited. Let me just ask you something else, okay? Johnny? What happens when we're a little further away, huh?
Johnny: It's too hard to see.
Carly: Okay, sure it is. It's okay, it really is. You know what? You're doing great. And your eyesight isn't perfect, but it's gonna get better. Real soon.
Sami: Oh, I love you so much. And you know what? I have a good idea. Let's have a big party. A celebration. What do you think about that, huh?
Johnny: My birthday's not until October.
Sami: I know that, sweetheart. But I think that we should have a big party to celebrate what an amazing, big boy you are. And how strong you are. And that you're just, um, you're a treasure. To all of us. Give me a hug.
Victor: I'm sorry I disappointed you, Maggie.
Maggie: But not sorry enough to do anything about it.
Victor: I can't make any unilateral decisions.
Maggie: Bull! You don't want to save Vivian. It is so wrong, Victor. How can you not see that?
Victor: I think you know the answer to that.
Maggie: No, I don't have a clue.
Victor: Well, you nailed it before. You should have never given me the benefit of the doubt. Ever..
Maggie: Oh, knock it off! Enough with the self-pity and the defeatism. Why don't you think about someone other than yourself? Oh, for heaven's sakes, Victor. Vivian is a human being. You married the woman. Granted, for the wrong reasons, but that doesn't change the fact that she is your wife. Which makes your behavior toward her all the more reprehensible.
Gus: How's the tooth?
Vivian: It's a bit sore. Nothing that another can of that lovely Cabernet wouldn't cure.
Gus: I must say Madame, I'm impressed. I didn't know you had it in you.
Vivian: It's just a little trick I learned at Swarthmore. Oh, foiled again, Brady Black.
Gus: To life.
[Cell phone ringing]
Jennifer: Oh, there you go. Doctors, everybody wants you.
Ben: Didn't you just get off shift?
Nathan: Yeah, but you know how it goes.
Ben: Well, how about I cover you on this one?
Nathan: No, no, don't worry about it.
Ben: No, no, no, I insist. Besides, I can't eat any more pastries, so... Jennifer, we'll talk soon?
Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah, sure.
Ben: All right, great. I'll see you at the hospital.
Nathan: Thank you, very much.
Ben: No worries.
Jennifer: Hey, sit down.
Jennifer: I'm, uh... I am sorry to hear about you and Stephanie.
Nathan: Aw, it's all right. I'm fine. I mean, it could have been worse. Could have gotten married. Then that would have been a disaster, huh?
Jennifer: Are you sure you're okay?
Nathan: Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Actually, the person I'm worried about is Mel.
Philip: Look, I know you think I'm going to be a lousy father. That I never took responsibility for Tyler, that I won't do right by Parker. But I'm different now. Truth is, the past couple of years, I've grown up a lot. Because of you. You've changed me. Look, I love you, Melanie. I love you, and we both love that baby that you're going to have. Nothing changes that. So what's it gonna be? Will you give me a chance? To be a part of a real family? The kind of family you and I never had?
Rafe: I went ahead and got you something from the FBI.
Sami: Here, let me help you. Wait, no, you gotta get the back part of it. Okay, there you go. How's that?
Rafe: Official FBI issue.
Rafe: You like it?
Sami: You know what else? I texted your brother, and he's taking a test right now. But he's going to be over here as soon as he can. And I thought I would go home and get Allie! So she can come play with you. And your daddy will go get Sydney. How's that sound?
EJ: Of course.
Lexie: We'd better let Johnny get some rest now.
Johnny: Knock 'em down.
Sami: I think he needs a nap. Sounds good to me--
Johnny: I don't!
Sami: I think you do! So you know what? You get some rest, and, um, we'll be right back. I love you. I'll see you in a bit. Muah!
EJ: Okay, give me a hug. Come on, aaarrghh! Big hug. Oh, not that big! Ohh! Okay. You and Nigel get some rest, all right.
EJ: See you in a bit.
Nicole: EJ, EJ.
Nicole: It's wonderful news, right? Johnny can see.
EJ: Oh, it is wonderful news.
Nicole: Yes, surgery was a success.
EJ: Yes, it was. Yes, it was. And Nicole, you have been so supportive and kind. I thank you.
Nicole: You've thanked me enough already, EJ.
EJ: No, I really couldn't thank you enough. If you hadn't caught this--you know, Johnny's problem...
Nicole: It all turned out for the best, didn't it? And, um, well... Johnny will be well enough to carry our wedding rings down the aisle. I was thinking about setting a new date.
EJ: Okay, we'll talk about it later. Okay.
[Cell phone rings]
EJ: Ah, Judge Fitzpatrick. Johnny's fine. Thank you very much for asking. A new wedding date. Nicole and I have decided to postpone.
Rafe: Hey, I just wanted to thank you for everything that you did for Johnny.
Carly: Oh, that wasn't just me, it was a whole team of people.
Rafe: I know, but we're so grateful. Yeah.
Carly: Will you do something for me?
Rafe: Yeah, sure. Anything.
Carly: Would you find Bo?
Warden Smith: I'm not happy!
Bo: Aw, come on, Janie. The fun has just started.
Warden Smith: You wasted my time, damn it!
Bo: No, I did not. I told you where Hope was. She's sneaky. Probably changed locations. How was I to know she'd do something like that to an evil bitch like you? I... that... that was the sodium pentothal talking. I didn't say evil bitch.
Warden Smith: Hard to believe, commissioner. The torture that you're willing to withstand for a woman who tried to kill you. Maybe... maybe you like the pain though. Maybe you want some more.
Bo: Is that a trick question?
Hope: I'm taking a huge risk, but I have no other choice. I've gotta help Bo.
Maggie: Haven't gotten through to you at all, have I? I'm outta here.
Victor: Maggie... you're a wonderful person with a big heart. You deserve...
Maggie: What do I deserve, Victor?
Victor: I wish I weren't such a disappointment to you.
Maggie: You said you wanted me to be a friend. Well, that isn't gonna happen unless you show some self-respect and dignity. If you can't do it for yourself, Victor... do it for me.
EJ: Hmm. I thought you were supposed to be sleeping.
Johnny: I'm not tired.
EJ: No? You got a lot of presents, didn't you? Hm? It's pretty hot in here. Why don't we do this? Why don't you take off this hat, and then you can play with some of your presents. How does that sound?
Johnny: No, I wanna wear my cap all the time.
Sami: Nicole, um... what you did, it changed everything. For me. And most importantly, for Johnny. And Sydney. And, uh, I want you to know that I thank you. I thank you for what you did from the bottom of my heart.
Nicole: That is all about Johnny. He's all that matters.
Nicole: And now that things have changed between you and EJ, I realize that, uh, now I'm losing Sydney and EJ... and Johnny. The whole family.
Sami: That must be painful for you.
Nicole: Oh, like I said... it's all about Johnny. And now that you and EJ have made peace, there really is no place for me in his life. So there probably won't be a wedding, I'm pretty sure of it. And, like I said, I won't be a part of your kids' lives anymore. So...you win. Congratulations.
Victor: I would do anything for you, Maggie.
Maggie: I hear a "but" in there.
Victor: I can't do it. I can't bring Vivian back. She's just too much of a danger to all of us.
Maggie: Blah, blah, blah.
Victor: Why are you mocking me? You know that it's true.
Maggie: Well, maybe if I speak your language.
Victor: What, Greek?
Victor: I don't follow.
Maggie: If--if I just knew what to offer.
Victor: Oh, well, there-- maybe I can help you.
Victor: Well, in as much as there's really only one thing that I want.
Maggie: Fine. Then here's the deal, Kiriakis. You bring Vivian home, and I will go out to dinner. Just the two of us. Take it or leave it.
Melanie: I don't think about what you deserve. I don't love you. Not anymore. And I never will again, so if you think you're gonna try and use this baby to worm your way back into my life, you're wrong. And it's only going to make me hate you more.
Melanie: Get out of here. Please.
Philip: Melanie, please don't do this.
[Cell phone ringing]
Nathan: Dr. Horton. Hello? Hello?
Warden Smith: Well, if you're not going to help, I guess you're no use to us now. I'll have to contact the boss. See what he wants to do with you now.
Sami: Seriously, this is the happiest I have been in I can't even remember how long. I mean, Johnny can see. And I get to have my kids back.
Rafe: Didn't I tell you it was all going to work out?
Sami: Okay, okay, agent I told you so.
Sami: Uh, speaking of that...
Sami: Are you still going to investigate the DiMeras?
Sami: 'Cause I don't want to do anything that's going to jeopardize EJ agreeing to this truce.
Rafe: Okay. Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything stupid. But, that said, I still have to do my job.
Sami: Yeah, of course. Of course, and I'm sorry I brought it up. 'Cause you know what? I just want to be happy. And celebrate the fact that I have you. And that I have my kids back.
Nicole: Hey, you. Did you hear the good news? Your brother Johnny is going to be okay. Can I get a little fiver? Yeah, isn't that amazing? Huh? And I have some other good news. Your mommy is back in your daddy's life. So that means he won't need me to take care of you guys. But even so, I am never going to lose you, Sydney. Never again. Kiddo... come here, give me a hug. That's my girl.
EJ: It was nice to see your brother William, wasn't it? Yeah? He's very happy that you're better. So is everybody. Put those away. Did you have a-- what was it you were asking me earlier about mommy, I forgot.
Johnny: Are you and mommy friends again?
EJ: Yes. Mommy and I are friends. We're going to be the best of friends.
Johnny: And Rafe too?
Carly: Oh, I'm so sorry to interrupt. But I need to borrow Johnny for just a few minutes.
EJ: Okay. See you in a little bit, all right?
EJ: Yes, Johnny. Your mother and I will be friends. Rafe, though...is another matter.
On the next "Days of Our Lives" --
Melanie: No, Daniel's not gonna forgive Chloe. I'm not gonna let him.
EJ: The real problem here is Rafael Hernandez.
Sami: You think I'm that stupid? Or is it just that you think I'm naive?
