Jennifer: Julie, I hope that turkey is big enough. I'm not sure.
Julie: Jennifer, it weighs 25 pounds. That turkey was going to be with us for days and days.
Maggie: There's our little sweetheart. Merry Christmas. I bet you're all excited about Santa coming, right?
Ciara: No. I don't believe in Santa.
Rafe: Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas, Johnny.
Johnny: Santa, is that you?
Rafe: Sure is, buddy, all the way from the North Pole. Yeah, word on the street is you've been an exceptionally good boy, not to mention the bravest kid in the land. So here you go. That's for you. Go ahead. You tear into it. Yeah. Ah.
Johnny: Wow. A megazord. I've been wanting this forever.
Rafe: [Laughs] I know. Your mom told me.
Johnny: She did?
Rafe: She did. And guess what. She also told me to tell you that she loves you and she misses you--your brother and sisters too. Oh, and that guy she's married to, the one--dark hair, kind of tall. He always makes funny faces.
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah, that's the one. Guy misses you like crazy, buddy.
EJ: So what exactly did Dr. Kim say?
Lexie: He said that Johnny's recovery has exceeded his every expectation. Yeah, and that he thinks it'd be great for Johnny to wake up on Christmas morning in his own bed.
EJ: No. Really? He's coming home? Oh, that's wonderful.
Lexie: He's coming home today.
EJ: Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Sami: Where's Rafe?
Will: Uh, running errands. Who you talking to?
Sami: Oh, I'm hold with the hospital. I swear, if they hang up on me one more time, I'm-- yes. Yes. Hello. Um, I'm just calling about the status of Johnny DiMera. This is his mother.
Stephanie: Sami, it's me, Stephanie.
Sami: Stephanie. Hi. What are you doing answering the phone?
Stephanie: [Sighs] They were short-staffed tonight.
Sami: Well, anyway, I'm calling about Johnny. Um, how's he doing?
Stephanie: Actually, EJ left strict orders not to give out any information, especially to you.
Sami: Are you kidding me? Stephanie Johnson, I am your cousin. You tell me how my son is doing.
Lexie: Okay, so just sign these forms, and he can be released right away.
EJ: Wonderful. Thank you.
Kate: What's going on? D-did something happen to Stefano?
Lexie: No. Johnny.
Kate: Johnny? What--what is it?
EJ: Johnny was diagnosed with cancer.
Kate: Oh, my God. EJ, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
Rafe: Merry Christmas.
Rafe: Uh, boy, I guess I kind of screwed this up, didn't I?
Brady: Rafe, Rafe, Rafe, relax.
Brady: Yeah. Great minds think alike, man.
Brady: How's, uh--how's Johnny doing?
Rafe: Oh, he's good. He's such a good kid. He's doing great.
Brady: I was hoping to see him, but I think two Santa Clauses might confuse him.
Rafe: Yeah, it's weird.
Brady: Looks like it's time to get out of here anyway.
Kate: I just--I just hope you remain optimistic. You know that I had stage-four cancer. And against all odds, here I am, cancer-free.
EJ: Yes. Well, thankfully, um... so is Johnny.
Kate: Yes. Thankfully. So his eye--
EJ: You know, actually, I, um, think I'm just gonna finish filling out this form, if you don't mind.
Kate: No, I-I understand. Believe me, I... anyway, uh, actually, I came here to see you. This is for Theo.
Lexie: Wow. Thank you. That's so kind of you.
Kate: Your father and I aren't speaking, but I wanted to make sure that Theo got his present so...
Stephanie: Hey, Sami, sorry for putting you on hold. What I was going to tell you was I can get in a lot of trouble telling you about Johnny, but I'm going to do it anyway.
Sami: You better.
Stephanie: Listen, Johnny is fine. He's actually doing better than expected. In fact, they're releasing him today.
Sami: What? He's being released so soon?
Stephanie: Yeah. Look, I can't talk right now. We'll talk more at mass.
Sami: Yeah. Okay, thank you. Thanks, Steph. [Sighs] So great news-- Johnny is being released.
Will: That's great.
Gabi: Now he gets to spend Christmas at home.
Sami: Gabi, that's not his home. This is his home. And he is staying at the DiMeras, but I am going to do everything I can to change that. I am not going to rest until I get Sydney and Johnny back here where they belong.
Victor: I don't care if it's Christmas Eve. I have to find Bo Brady before the police do. And if anything happens to my son, your ass is grass.
Vivian: I think you forgot to say "bah humbug."
Victor: Shouldn't you be in Whoville stealing Christmas?
Vivian: No, Victor. Actually, I'm quite happy being here in my very own beautiful home...
Victor: This glass isn't big enough.
Vivian: Where I can remind you that all of Bo's problems are your fault.
Victor: What the hell are you talking about?
Vivian: You refused to help me get rid of that dreadful Carly Manning. And if you had, Hope wouldn't have gone to prison, Bo wouldn't have helped her escape, and they wouldn't be fugitives from the law.
Victor: And if you hadn't come back to Salem, I wouldn't be having triple martinis before breakfast... or staring at that ghastly portrait every time I set foot in the living room.
Vivian: Well, I happen to think it's lovely. It's a very good likeness.
Victor: Minus the viciousness. The painter didn't capture the viciousness, did he?
Victor: You know, if everyone--and I mean every single person who happens to be unfortunate enough to reside in the same town as you--they would all be much better off if you were to just simply disappear. Might even be some Christmas cheer around here... yes, if you, Vivian Alamain, bane of my existence and everyone else's, were to be somewhere else.
Brady: Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho! How would you like to sit on my lap and tell me what you want?
Nicole: How'd you like me to shove a candy down your throat?
Brady: I knew you were on the naughty list.
Nicole: Oh, Brady.
Nicole: What are you doing here?
Brady: I'm spreading Christmas cheer. I thought I'd start, you know, here.
Julie: Ciara, darling, sit right down there and tell me... why don't you believe in Santa Claus?
Ciara: Because my mommy and daddy are not going to be home for Christmas. And if there was a Santa, they would be.
Julie: Oh, sweetheart.
Ciara: Are my mommy and daddy ever coming home?
Jennifer: Yes, they are, honey, okay? We just, uh--we just have to keep hoping and praying, okay?
Maggie: And if there's anything you need in the meantime, you have us. And we're right here for you.
Julie: We love you so much, Ciara.
Ciara: Love you too.
Sami: Where have you been?
Rafe: What do you mean?
Sami: What do you mean what do I mean? What's with the secret agent Santa thing?
Rafe: I went to visit Johnny. I mean, Santa did.
Sami: That is the cutest thing I have ever heard. And EJ?
Rafe: He's totally clueless, thought I was the real deal.
Rafe: Can't say I blame him.
Sami: What happened with Johnny? I mean, I know he's being released.
Rafe: He seemed good. Obviously, he's healing really fast. They're sending him home.
Sami: Right. Right. What did he say to Santa?
Rafe: Well, Santa told him that his mother loves him more than anything in the world. And he told Santa to give you this. And Santa wanted to give you this.
Vivian: Dinner's ready. Where is everyone?
Victor: Philip and Melanie are celebrating with her family. Brady and Kate are off doing whatever. In case you're too dense to get the point, Vivian, no one wants to spend Christmas Eve with you.
Vivian: Not even you?
Victor: I think I'll be orthodox this year-- celebrate the epiphany.
Lexie: Uh, um, would you excuse me? I need to finish up some paperwork. Hey, Father, I'll see you at the party tonight, okay?
Stefano: All right.
Stefano: Ciao. [Sighs] The, uh... the gift for Theo is, uh-- is very thoughtful.
Kate: I heard about Johnny. I'm sorry.
Stefano: Well, Johnny is strong. He's gonna be fine.
Kate: So... how are things going with Chad? Is he going to, uh, spend the holidays with you?
Stefano: It's none of your concern.
Kate: Stefano, don't forget that this is his first year--
Stefano: I said that... it's none of your concern.
Kate: You're right. It's not. Forget I said anything.
Kate: Merry Christmas.
Stefano: Merry Christmas.
EJ: Okay, signed and... delivered. Is Johnny free to go now?
Lexie: Uh... yeah. That should do it. Have you told Sami the good news?
EJ: No. Why would I do that?
Lexie: EJ... Johnny has a long road ahead of him. He--he's going to need both of his parents.
EJ: That is where you're wrong, Lexie--I'm sorry. Samantha is, uh, destructive and needy, and she's emotionally damaging for Johnny, especially with the new physical challenges that he has now.
Lexie: Okay, would you stop it? She's his mother, okay? She loves him.
EJ: She shot his father, your brother... in case that slipped your mind.
Lexie: No. No, it hasn't. But she's his mother.
EJ: No, no, no. I'm sorry, Lexie. There is no "but" here, okay? I'm the only parent that Johnny needs. And he will be fine. In fact, he will be more than fine. He will thrive.
Will: Uh, Mom, no, no, no, don't go out there.
Sami: Why not? What are you doing? Rafe...
Will: Sorry. She overpowered me.
Rafe: It's okay. I got it.
Sami: Did you do that-- those ornaments? Where did they come from?
Rafe: Yeah, the kids all made them. Pretty cool, right? We started it off before things got so hectic.
Sami: They're beautiful. I can't believe you did this.
Rafe: Well, I thought we could do it every year. It'll be like a family tradition. Like it?
Sami: That is a great idea.
Rafe: We'll hang them right next to our wedding cord so it'll remind us of our vows.
Sami: I do.
Rafe: I do.
Maggie: Oh, Ciara, I didn't notice your pretty necklace earlier. Where did you get it?
Ciara: It's my mommy's.
Julie: Hope's Christmas present. Bo brought it by just before he left. Isn't that right, Ciara? A reminder that your mommy is always thinking of you and she misses you very much.
Ciara: Is she thinking about me right now?
Jennifer: Oh, honey, of course she is. You know what? We are gonna finish decorating this tree. Come on with me.
Nathan: Merry Christmas. [All speaking at once]
Stephanie: Some one had to do some last-minute Christmas shopping.
Nathan: Yeah, so I hope you guys like gift cards.
Stephanie: Wait. Where are my cousins? I-I thought they were going to be here.
Jennifer: Oh, well, your cousins are stuck in London. There was an awful snowstorm, so they are there.
Stephanie: Oh, no. That's so disappointing. I'm so sorry.
Julie: Doug, what are we going to do here?
Doug: Yeah, this party is getting downright gloomy.
Julie: Don't you wish grandma was here? She'd cheer everybody up.
Doug: Oh, man, I sure do, sweetheart. I sure do.
Julie: Darling, how about we channel her?
Sami: Well, that doll was a huge hit. Allie's introducing her to every other doll in her room, all the animals too. It's gonna take a while.
Rafe: [Chuckles] Okay. Who's next?
Sami: Not you.
Rafe: I didn't say.
Sami: The girls. Gabi, you can go next.
Will: Oh, yeah, yeah, hold on. Okay. This one's from me.
Gabi: Are you serious?
Gabi: Okay. Oh, my God. Will, I can't believe this.
Will: I know how much you like photography. And, you know, you're so awesome at it. So hope you like it.
Gabi: I love it. Are you kidding me? Thank you so much.
Will: You're welcome.
Rafe: Hey, Will, why don't you go get your mom a present?
Sami: I'll help... pick one out. Um, sure. That's perfect.
Sami: Okay. So this one is from Will and Gabi. [Gasps] Oh. This is beautiful. I love how you put the whole family together. This is perfect. We're a good-looking family, huh?
Will: Yeah, trick photography.
Sami: [Laughs] I just wish all my kids could be here with us tonight.
Rafe: Next year.
Sami: Hopefully before then, right?
Sami: We're gonna get all four kids under this roof, and we're gonna be together.
EJ: Welcome home. Hmm?
Nicole: Wow. Look at all those gifts. You guys must've been good this year, huh?
Johnny: Can we open them now?
EJ: I think we need to wait until Lexie and Theo get here, don't you?
Johnny: What about Mommy? Is she coming too?
Sami: Oh! It is so cold! What are we doing out here?
Rafe: Okay. Okay. Okay. Is that better, huh?
Sami: Of course. It's getting warmer already.
Sami: No, seriously, though, what are we doing out here?
Rafe: Because I still have something I want to give you for Christmas. And I wanted to give it to you with no one around. No, not that. God.
Sami: Okay, well, I have something for you too, so...
Sami: It's perfect.
Rafe: Okay. Come on.
Sami: Okay. Well, anyway.
Rafe: You first.
Sami: Open your present, Rafe.
Sami: I mean, is it even possible? Are they really...? [Laughs]
Rafe: [Laughs] Oh, my God.
Sami: The safe house?
Rafe: Safe house.
Sami: I can't believe you still kept the key.
Rafe: Of course I did.
Rafe: Where we, uh, fell in love.
Sami: I saw mine the other day, and I had this idea for getting you this really great chain and giving it to you. So I have to find the chain, but--
Rafe: Chain? That's kind of fancy. I didn't get you a chain. I didn't even think about it.
Sami: I just thought you could keep it close, you know?
Rafe: So I was--I was by there the other day. Uh... just seeing it, there's so many memories.
Sami: I know. I know, right? I mean, just how simple it was then. It just--it was so wonderful.
Rafe: Definitely. Anyway, there was this real-estate agent. She was coming out of there. And it turns out the place has been on the market ever since we left. In this market, no one's even looked at it.
Sami: Well, they don't know what they're missing out on.
Rafe: That's for sure.
Sami: It's awesome. Hey, you know what?
Sami: We should go back and, uh, pay it a visit.
Rafe: No, no, we can't do that. That'd be like breaking and entering.
Sami: We wouldn't be breaking anything. We have keys.
Rafe: Come on.
Sami: Come on.
Sami: Just think... it's where we fell in love. Okay, it's--it's where we drove each other crazy and then--and then fell in love.
Rafe: You still drive me crazy, you know.
Sami: I try.
Rafe: In a good way.
Sami: [Laughs] I love you so much.
Rafe: I love you too. Merry Christmas.
Sami: Merry Christmas.
Maggie: Oh, come on. Oh, stop it. You didn't eat that much.
Nathan: Yes, I did. It's your fault, because that was hands down the best dinner I've ever had. Thank you--especially the double-chocolate cake.
Maggie: Ooh, I'm glad you liked it, because I'm going to make it next week when you come over. Tuesday night, right?
Stephanie: You should tell her.
Maggie: Tell me what?
Nathan: Okay, this is going to sound kind of sudden. I've decided to leave Salem. We're, uh--we're moving to Baltimore.
Doug: Attenzione! The Carvers have arrived!
Abe: Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Mwah!
Stephanie: Merry Christmas.
Doug: Ciara, look who's here.
Abe: There you go, big guy.
Julie: Are we glad to see the Carvers.
Doug: Perfect timing.
Theo: Merry Christmas.
Julie: Oh. What can it be?
Doug: Ooh, what's that? What's that?
Lexie: Theo picked it out himself. It's just like his dog, Charlie.
Ciara: Thank you, Theo. I love it.
Julie: How sweet!
Maggie: They're so cute.
Lexie: I love their friendship. It's just so adorable.
Maggie: Here. Come here. I can't believe you're going to Baltimore.
Nathan: I know. Uh, we're going next week to look for an apartment.
Maggie: Next week?
Stephanie: Just--just to look for an apartment. But we'll be back for the wedding.
Nathan: Yeah. I start at Johns Hopkins a few weeks later.
Maggie: Johns Hopkins? Oh, my goodness. It's so wonderful. It's very exciting.
Nathan: I'm going to miss you so much.
Maggie: Same here. It's like you said-- you're gonna come home to visit, and I'll go there. And you better promise to call me all the time... and text me and video chat and Twitter and Skype and whatever. I don't know all those things.
Nathan: All of the above. I promise, okay? I will. I will.
Lexie: Look, um, I'm sorry we can't stay longer. We have to get over to my father's house.
Abe: Right now? Lexie, you know, Theo and Ciara, they're having such a good time.
Lexie: Yeah, I-I-I know. But, you know, we have to be there for Johnny. And EJ's expecting us.
Jennifer: Oh, how is Johnny?
Lexie: He's--he's doing well. He was released from the hospital today, so that's good.
Jennifer: Oh, that's great. Sami must be so relieved.
Abe: Well, she'd be a lot more relieved if EJ would let her see the kid.
Abe: What? I'm just stating a simple fact. What your brother's doing, Lexie, keeping Johnny away from his mother and the Bradys, it's--it's cruel. It's reprehensible, especially at a time like this.
Johnny: I want my mommy!
Stefano: Oh, Giovanni, Giovanni, sweetheart, it's Christmas. I know that your mommy wants you to have a happy time.
Stefano: Ah, come on. Don't you want to see all the presents? Look-it under that tree. There must be over 100 boxes there.
Nicole: Hey, Johnny, sweetheart. You know what? I know you're sad. But you have to know that your daddy and your grandpa love you very much, and they want you to be happy. Do you know that? Yeah? And you know what? I love you too. I do, because you are brave, and you are funny, and you're very sweet. And you know what? I have a secret. Want to hear it? Yeah? [Laughs] You know, sometimes when I'm sad, it makes me feel really good to open a present.
Nicole: [Gasps] So do you think maybe it would cheer you up if you got to open a present--you and your sister? You want to try it?
Nicole: Yeah? Okay? Why don't you come with me? But we can only open one, because we have to save the rest for later, okay?
Nicole: Okay. All right, here you go. All right, go pick one out.
EJ: Thank you.
Nicole: Oh... you don't have to thank me. I'm--I'm happy to help. I love those kids.
Stefano: [Sniffs] Chad, this is Stefano DiMera. Yeah. Yes, yes, I know what you said, but I-- well, no, Chad, no, no, no, no. No, don't-- [Sighs] Merry Christmas... son.
Julie: So... with Nathan leaving and Melanie gone... might be time, my dear friend, for you to think about, uh... [Chuckles] about...
Maggie: About what, Julie? Say it.
Julie: It's so presumptuous of me to even suggest this. But I think you should get out and meet some new people. I worry about you. I worry about you being lonely.
Maggie: I'll be fine.
Julie: Okay. I'm gonna take the plunge here.
Maggie: Aha, the plunge.
Julie: Have you thought about dating... Victor?
Maggie: There is nothing between me and Victor.
Julie: Okay. Oh, I'm wrong.
Julie: I-I'm wrong.
Maggie: No, he infuriates me, in fact. And you may recall... that it's been less than a year since I lost my husband. And I would rather not have people pushing me-- even well-meaning ones-- about romance or anything of the sort.
Julie: I should've kept my big mouth shut.
Maggie: It may not be obvious to you, Julie, because I do try... to be very strong around family and friends. But in my private moments... I'm still grieving. I'm still having a very rough time.
Julie: I know. I know it, honey. I know it. Maggie, I understand. There's no replacement for Mickey. But Mickey would want you to have some joy in life. Mickey would not want you to be alone. That I know.
Maggie: I guess. Thank you.
Doug: Before you go, I was wondering if there's anything you could tell us about Bo and Hope.
Abe: I-I wish I could, Doug, but the state police are handling this case. Yeah, look, I'M... I'm just sorry. I know what you and Julie must be going through.
Doug: Yeah, but it's Ciara we're worried about.
Abe: Yeah, as if that little girl hasn't been through enough. As far as Bo and Hope's case... they're keeping the mayor's office completely out of the loop.
Julie: But you can make sure nothing happens to them. You can keep them safe.
Abe: Julie, you know I will do my best. But this is--it's out of my hands. But, of course, if I hear anything, I'll let you know.
Julie: Thank you, Abe. Well, Abe's hands may be tied, but mine are not.
Julie: Hello, Victor. This is Julie Williams calling... to ask a favor.
Victor: What kind of favor?
Julie: I know your men are out looking for Bo and Hope. I'm asking you to keep me informed. Can you do that?
Victor: Of course. And could you do me a favor in return?
Victor: Wish Maggie a Merry Christmas.
Julie: Victor says Merry Christmas, Maggie. Would you like to talk to him?
Kate: Hmm. Now, I wonder... what this is. Well, whatever it is, it better involve diamonds. [Sighs] Who the hell...?
Vivian: Oh, looks like you've been very naughty this year.
Kate: Mm-hmm. I should've known.
Vivian: I wouldn't make assumptions, Kate. I'm sure there's several people who think you deserve a lump of coal, including your charming husband.
Stefano: [Mimics fanfare] All right, I think we have made our children wait long enough. It's time to open all the presents now.
Johnny and Theo: Yay!
Nicole: Look, I'm--I'm going to go back to the guesthouse.
Nicole: Because this seems like a family thing.
EJ: Johnny and Sydney want you to be here. You should stay.
Doug: What a shame that Nathan and Stephanie had to leave so early.
Maggie: Well, Doug, since we have a shortage of manpower, we should get started, no?
Jennifer: Yes, definitely.
Julie: What do you say, Ciara? Let's get this tree decorated.
Doug: Yeah. [Oh, come, all ye faithful]
Doug: Well, sweetheart, I think you pulled it off-- lifted everyone's spirits just in the nick-- nick, nick.
Julie: You know something? I might have to channel Alice Horton more often.
Priest: "And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished and she should be delivered. And Mary brought forth her firstborn, a son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same..."
Rafe: Hey. Want me to go with you?
Priest: "Abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone around about them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, fear not, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy."
Victor: Don't you think you've had enough?
Brady: With her around? Never.
Kate: Well, I hope you're enjoying your little revenge. Too bad you don't have anyone to share it with.
Vivian: At least I'm not the only one flying solo tonight. Have a nice sleep in your cold, empty bed, Kate.
Theo: "Mary wrapped him in..."
Abe: "Swaddling clothes."
Theo: "Which are bands of soft cloth, and laid him in the..."
Stefano: Bravo, Theo. That's what--come over here. That's so good. Oh-ho, Theo, you know something? You are becoming a wonderful reader. You know that? Nonno is so proud of you. [Speaking Italian] Very nice. That's very good.
Lexie: So this hasn't been such a terrible night, has it?
Abe: Well, you know, nothing could be terrible with you by my side... and our son.
Lexie: Yeah, we are so blessed, aren't we?
Abe: Yeah. We are. Merry Christmas, sweetheart.
Lexie: Merry Christmas, honey.
All: Silent night holy night all is calm all is bright round yon virgin mother and child holy infant so tender and mild sleep in heavenly peace sleep in heavenly peace
On the next "Days of Our Lives" --
Caroline: Kayla, what are you doing here?
Sami: If you think that he's actually gonna let you in Sydney's life, then you're dreaming.
EJ: I make the decisions, okay?
