Gabi: You see what we're talking about now?
Will: Kind of strange, right?
Rafe: Yeah, it is. I don't know what to make of it though.
Will: Looks like one of Johnny's pupils is white.
Gabi: At first, we thought it was the camera. But nobody else's eyes look like that.
Will: And why is it in every shot?
Melanie: So you and Stephanie moved up the wedding date?
Nathan: That's right.
Melanie: Why would you do that? Unless... [Snickers]
Nathan: What? No, go ahead. Say it.
Melanie: Are you getting married because she's pregnant?
Nathan: Are you serious? No. Why would you think that?
Melanie: Is it that hard to believe? Remember when she threw away her birth control pills?
Nathan: We're not doing this now, are we? Are we doing this again?
Melanie: No. Sorry. I didn't mean to upset you.
Nathan: I'm not upset. You seem upset.
Melanie: I'm not upset.
Nathan: Can we--can we just be honest for a second? Look, we both said some stuff in quarantine. And I told you that I loved you.
Melanie: Were you lying?
Nathan: Hell, no.
Stephanie: [Exhales heavily] Aunt Adrienne, it's Stephanie. Call me back when you get this. I need to talk to you.
Stephanie: Are you following me?
Caroline: For your information, I was visiting a friend in the hospital. She had a gallbladder out. Were you calling Adrienne to tell her about the wedding?
Stephanie: Yes. Among other things. I think she's gonna be really happy for me. I thought you were too.
Caroline: I am. It's just--it's just too bad your parents can't be here.
Stephanie: I know. I know. I mean, obviously, this is not an ideal situation. But when I found out that Mom was gonna be out of touch, it felt like a sign.
Caroline: A sign?
Stephanie: Yeah. That everything's going to be okay. I mean, yes, Mom wants me to do the right thing. But right is subjective. What's right to one person isn't necessarily right to another person. You've said that before.
Caroline: Yes. I agree. Yes.
Stephanie: So, I mean, even though Mom has a different point of view, you and I think that this is right. So the way that things are proceeding now, no one ever needs to know that Philip cheated on Melanie.
Maxine: Stephanie, hon. Sorry to interrupt. But I got a question to run by you.
Stephanie: Yeah, what is it you need to know, Maxine?
Daniel: Cheating on my daughter. Then telling her you want to have a baby? I will kill you.
Philip: Here you go. Takeout from the Brady Pub.
Chloe: Oh, Philip, that is so sweet of you, but...
Philip: But what?
Chloe: Well, Daniel already brought us home some dinner.
Philip: Oh, well, save it for tomorrow night, right?
Chloe: Right. Why didn't I think of that? We can always use some takeout. Especially since that's all we're eating these days.
Philip: No more of that amazing gourmet cooking, huh?
Chloe: Ha. Very funny.
Philip: You're gonna have to fend for yourself in the food department, big guy.
Chloe: How dare you. You know, I've bought several baby cookbooks.
[Knock at door]
Chloe: Oh, door. Brady.
Chloe: Come in.
Chloe: Wow, that was quick.
Brady: Am I too early?
Chloe: No. Not at all.
Brady: Hello, Philip.
Philip: Hello, Brady. Came to get a look at the kid?
Brady: I did. And this little guy needs a home.
Chloe: Aw, Brady, that is so cute. Thank you. But where's Nicole? I figured she'd want to see the baby.
Brady: Uh, Nicole and I broke up.
EJ: It's all right, Harold. Don't get up. I will get it.
Nicole: You bastard.
Melanie: If you love me, then why are you marrying Stephanie?
Nathan: [Scoffs] I can't do this right now.
Melanie: You're right. We should probably put it off for a couple more years.
Nathan: All right, I got to go.
Melanie: No. No. No. We need to figure this out. Just answer me. If you have feelings for me, why are you marrying Stephanie?
Nathan: When I got out of quarantine and I saw Steph, I was going to tell her the truth.
Melanie: Why didn't you?
Nathan: Because before I could, I had this random conversation with a patient. And she was telling me about this amazing life that she had and all these years of happiness with her husband. Even though he wasn't her soul mate.
Melanie: And you related to that?
Nathan: I did. 'Cause I realize that even if I still have feelings for you, I can't just... I'm happy with Stephanie. I really am. And I--and I truly believe that I can be happy with her. And, you know, none of that matters because us is not possible because you are a married woman.
Melanie: Anything else?
Nathan: You and I don't even know each other anymore.
Melanie: Don't even know-- that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Of course we know each other.
Nathan: Yeah, but not like we should. Okay, yes, we have this connection. Yes, we're obviously attracted to each other. But we can't just--
Melanie: Can't just what?
Nathan: We can't just blow the good that we have in our lives. Especially on a whim. Especially since it's probably just a case of wanting what we can't have.
Lexie: Ah. Thanks for listening. And for the tissue.
Ben: Any time.
Lexie: Thanks. Oh, Abe. Didn't expect you back here.
Abe: I know. I could tell.
Will: So? What do you think?
Rafe: [Scoffs] I don't know what it could be. I understand why you'd be concerned though.
Gabi: Maybe it's just a glitch in the program that printed the photos.
Will: But it's in every shot.
Rafe: What did your mom say?
Will: Uh, I didn't tell her. She's already freaked out enough about Johnny and Sydney. I didn't want to worry her.
Rafe: Right. It's a good call. Okay, how about this: We reprint the photos and take it from there.
EJ: Hmm. So let me guess. This is my fault, um, whatever it happens to be. I'm responsible for the sorry state of your life. Well, if you'll excuse me, Nicole, I have work to do.
Nicole: I didn't think I could hate you any more than I already do.
EJ: Just let me ask you what happened exactly when you gave Brady the old heave-ho?
Nicole: What do you think happened?
EJ: Life is tough.
Nicole: Does it make you happy? Hmm?
EJ: Well, I wouldn't jump for joy. But I haven't had my coffee yet.
Nicole: Whatever. You know what, it's done. You got what you wanted and now I get my reward. I'm going to see Sydney.
EJ: Not so fast.
Will: Where's Mom and Allie?
Rafe: They're out Christmas shopping. Gabi, you got that memory card?
Gabi: Uh, yeah.
Rafe: Well, I'm hoping that's what you guys are thinking. That it's just a glitch in the printer.
Will: Yeah, that's got to be it.
Rafe: Thanks. Well, if it is, then these prints should come out fine. Let's see.
Melanie: You're right. I have a good marriage. Stephanie's obviously... devoted. To you. And I'm sure if we got together, we'd just annoy each other like we usually do.
Nathan: Yeah, probably.
Melanie: Philip puts up with all my "idio-syn-crass-ies." Is that the right word?
Nathan: Yeah, idiosyncrasies? Yeah, that's right.
Melanie: Right. He puts up with all my stuff unconditionally.
Nathan: Yeah, and, you know, Stephanie is really understanding. I mean, she really gets me.
Melanie: So why would we want to ruin that?
Nathan: Exactly. And since we're pretty much oil and water most of the time, we got to get past this selfish attraction so that no one else gets hurt.
Caroline: Oh, Daniel.
Daniel: Oh, hey.
Caroline: Nice to see you.
Daniel: Hey. Caroline. Stephanie.
Stephanie: Hey. Dr. Jonas, I thought today was your day off.
Daniel: Yeah, I was just making some rounds. That's all.
Caroline: Oh. Well, we were talking about Stephanie and Nathan moving up their wedding date.
Stephanie: Why don't you just take out a full ad in the newspaper.
Caroline: The paper? Don't you think that's a bit 20th century? How about if I twitter it instead?
Stephanie: I may even add you on Facebook.
Caroline: Ho ho ho.
Daniel: Well, you know what, congratulations, Stephanie.
Stephanie: Thank you. Thank you. I'm really, really excited. As if you couldn't tell.
Daniel: Yeah, yeah, it shows.
Caroline: Take care, Daniel.
Daniel: You too.
Chloe: Brady, what happened? Why did you and Nicole break up?
Brady: Chloe, um, we had a fight. We just realized it wasn't working, basically.
Chloe: Oh, well, I'm sorry. I'm sure Nicole's really upset too.
Brady: It doesn't matter. I don't want to talk about Nicole and me. I came over here to see your beautiful son.
Chloe: And speaking of which, I think I need to go change his diaper. So excuse me, gentlemen.
Chloe: Oh oh.
Philip: So... Vivian.
Brady: What about her?
Philip: Come on, Brady. You know she'll be gunning for all of us. And now that you've broken up with Nicole, how can we trust her?
Brady: Who? Trust w-- trust Nicole?
Philip: Yeah. That bitch could bring us all down.
Nicole: You're not going to let me see Sydney? What, you made me break up with Brady just to torture me?
EJ: Okay, just calm down, all right? You can see Sydney... as soon as you move out of the Kiriakis mansion.
Nicole: Yeah, I'll move out when I find an apartment.
EJ: Right. How long do you think that's going to take, hmm? Day, week, month, year?
Nicole: I don't know. I don't know. Do you want me to live on the street? Should I be a bag lady? Would you get a charge out of that, EJ?
EJ: Not at all.
Nicole: So what do you want me to do?
EJ: Move in with me.
Gabi: All right, his left pupil still looks white.
Will: After five different prints.
Rafe: Listen, it could be a reflection of the light.
Gabi: In that many pictures?
Rafe: Well, let's just relax about it, okay? I still wouldn't tell your mother.
Rafe: I'll handle it.
Will: Thank you.
Rafe: Thank you.
Gabi: We should get going, huh?
Will: Yeah. Okay. See you later.
Rafe: All right. See you guys.
Gabi: Bye, big brother.
Lexie: Honey, what's going on?
Abe: You tell me.
Ben: I should get to my rounds. Excuse me.
Lexie: Thanks again, Ben.
Lexie: What's wrong?
Able: Do I need to spell it out for you?
Abe: When I walked in, what was going on between you and Ben Walters?
Lexie: Oh, come on, Abe. Nothing. I was upset about Theo. I opened up to Ben about it. And he was being sympathetic. That's all.
Abe: Are you sure?
Lexie: [Scoffs] Exactly what are you accusing me of?
Melanie: The no broken hearts club. I'm going to sign up for that today.
Melanie: Well, since we've got that taken care of, I guess I can give you the good news.
Nathan: Let's hear it.
Melanie: It's not really news until it happens, I guess.
Nathan: Till what happens?
Melanie: Philip and I are trying to have a baby.
Nathan: What, in the last 30 seconds--you--that's great. I'm--yeah, I'm glad. I hope that you and Philip can conceive that baby right away.
Melanie: Shouldn't be a problem.
Nathan: All right, I'm going to go to work now.
Melanie: Yeah, me too. Okay.
Melanie: I can't stop thinking about what we said in quarantine.
Nathan: Well, we were both sick and not in our right minds, right? So...
Brady: We'll talk about Vivian and Nicole another time, all right? Not here, not now.
Chloe: And here's our little prince. He's all clean and happy.
Philip: And I have to be going.
Philip: I got to get back to work.
Chloe: Oh, okay. Well, thank you for the food delivery.
Philip: Any time. Any time. See you later, little man.
Chloe: Can you smile?
Philip: I'll see you, Brady.
Brady: See you around.
Chloe: Bye-bye. Say bye-bye. Say bye-bye, Philip.
Chloe: So everything okay between you and Philip?
Brady: Yeah. Yeah. Why?
Chloe: Well, things just seemed a little tense when I walked out here.
Brady: It did? It's just--no, we have a work situation that we're dealing with. He wants to handle it one way. I want to handle it another. It's nothing new. But can I get some love on this little guy or what?
Chloe: Yes, please. Yes, please.
Brady: Come here. Come here. Come here. Oh, my gosh.
Chloe: Look at that smile.
Brady: Oh. He is something. He is beautiful. You and Daniel must be really happy.
Chloe: We are. I just wish that you were.
Brady: I'm fine.
Chloe: What happened, Brady? Last time I talked to Nicole, she was going on and on about how great things were with you guys.
Brady: Things were great. And it just didn't work out. And...you know, it's no big surprise, actually.
Chloe: Well, it is to me. I just feel bad for both of you.
Brady: Don't feel bad. Believe me, breaking up, it's, uh, it's for the best. Believe me.
Nicole: You--you want me to-- to what?
EJ: Move in with me.
EJ: Oh, I don't mean in my bedroom or in my house.
Nicole: Oh. Ha.
EJ: Yeah. You remember the cottage that we have on the grounds for guests?
EJ: Okay. Well, as it happens, it's presently unoccupied.
Nicole: You want me around so you can keep an eye on me.
EJ: [Clears throat] It's free room, free board, get to spend time with Sydney, and it'll really annoy Samantha. So what do you say? It doesn't sound like that terrible of an idea, does it?
Nicole: No. No, it doesn't.
EJ: Okay. Good. So why don't you go and get your things, move in today, and Sydney and I will be waiting for you later?
Abe: What? I'm supposed to see another man's arms around you and not react?
Lexie: Oh, for God's sake.
Abe: Should I find it heartwarming that my wife gets along so well with her coworkers?
Lexie: Okay, this is insane.
Abe: Don't walk away from me, Lexie.
Lexie: Did you recall just about an hour ago how upset I was over the fact that our little boy isn't understanding what it is he's reading?
Abe: I told you he'd get there. I told you to stop worrying.
Lexie: Just because you tell someone not to do something, it doesn't mean they automatically stop doing it, okay? That's like telling someone with insomnia to just go to sleep. I can't will myself not to worry.
Abe: I see. So instead of calling for your husband, the father of your child, to talk about it some more, you turn to Ben Walters.
Abe: You run straight into the arms of another man.
Lexie: Oh, my God. Listen, I talked and Ben listened, all right? That's it. Period.
Abe: Well, it's not the way I see it.
Lexie: Wh--I don't believe you. I mean, after all we've been through? Where's this coming from? What's the matter with you?
Stephanie: I should probably get back to work. Listen, I am so sorry for getting so intense earlier.
Caroline: I was too.
Nathan: Hey, ladies. Oh, hi.
Stephanie: Hi. There you are.
Caroline: Hi, Melanie.
Melanie: Good to see you.
Caroline: Nice to see you.
Melanie: You too. Yeah.
Caroline: Well, Nathan, uh, Stephanie tells me you're going to be married soon.
Nathan: Yes. It's exciting, isn't it?
Stephanie: I can't wait to go dress shopping. Will you come with me?
Caroline: I'm honored. And I'm going to throw you the most fantastic wedding shower.
Melanie: 'Scuse me.
Stephanie: Grandma, thank you. That's really sweet of you.
Ben: Sorry for interrupting, but did I--did I just hear correctly? A wedding shower? Does that mean...?
Nathan: Oh, yeah, we're getting married a lot sooner than we thought.
Ben: I don't think so.
Daniel: Maybe I'm making too much of this. Maybe I heard wrong. Maybe I heard right and Stephanie's wrong.
[Cell phone rings]
Chloe: Hey, honey, I just want to let you know that Maggie called and said that she'd be a few minutes late to babysit. So I'll be down at the pier as soon as I can.
Daniel: It's all right.
Chloe: Daniel, is everything all right?
Brady: So how'd it go with EJ? Did he buy it?
Nicole: Hmm. You bastard, you lied to me!
Rafe: Hold up.
EJ: Ha. Hernandez, we have nothing to say to each other.
Rafe: This is about Johnny.
EJ: I wonder if you have amnesia. You seem to have forgotten everything that's happened the last few days, but--
Rafe: Well, this is important, EJ.
EJ: Oh, is it important? Oh, well, then I know exactly what you're talking about.
Abe: Maybe it's, uh, because I saw Sami today.
Lexie: So what's she got to do with us?
Abe: I tore into her because of what's happening with her and EJ. And, uh, she reminds me that you and I have had a rocky history. And so when I saw you with Ben Walters--
Lexie: You over-reacted.
Abe: Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. You know, it's--it's--you're a beautiful, extraordinary woman. What man wouldn't be interested in you?
Lexie: Well, I'm only interested in one man. You.
Abe: And I failed you. You and Theo both.
Stephanie: I'm sorry. I don't understand.
Caroline: Neither do I. Why wouldn't you give your blessing, Dr. Walters? This is Stephanie and Nathan. They belong together.
Ben: Well, I'm just concerned, that's all. I mean, Nathan was--you were extremely ill with a very serious virus. And that antiviral medication-- it was new. Untested. Before we received it.
Stephanie: So you're saying...?
Ben: That Dr. Manning and Dr. Jonas should examine him. Make sure he's 100% healthy.
Nathan: Hold on one minute? Why does everyone around here always seem to forget the fact that I'm also a doctor? If I had any issues or felt I wasn't up to speed, then I think I would know.
Ben: Well, there's no need to be defensive.
Nathan: This is not your call.
Ben: Well, as I said, I just think you should be cautious. Vigilant about your health.
Nathan: I always am. Thank you.
Ben: Okay. Well, whatever you decide, whenever, I'm sure the two of you will very happy together. So congratulations on the engagement. Excuse me.
Chloe: Honey, what's wrong?
Daniel: Nothing. I got to go. I'll see you soon though. Don't worry about a thing.
Chloe: But I'm worried.
Philip: Is everything all right?
Daniel: Oh, it will be... as soon as you tell me you didn't cheat on my daughter.
Nicole: You said you loved me, and that you didn't mind sharing me with Sydney, and you understood my devotion to her.
Brady: Sydney is not your daughter! Get over it. You're more delusional than you've ever been, Nicole.
Henderson: Excuse me, but maybe I should go.
Nicole: Henderson, you know how much I love that little girl.
Brady: Your place is here, okay? It's not with her. It's with me. Forget about her.
Nicole: No. No. I can't and I won't.
Brady: You can't have it both ways. You can either have Sydney or you can have me. So make up your mind.
Nicole: Fine. I choose Sydney. You and I are finished.
Brady: Fine! Fine!
Henderson: I just wanted to tell you that I was leaving. Good day.
Brady: We should break up more often.
Nicole: Yeah, definitely.
EJ: So you and Samantha just cooked this up, did you? No wonder she gave in to my demand so easily today.
Rafe: What demand?
EJ: She didn't tell you, did she?
Rafe: Tell me what?
EJ: Johnny's been having a bit of a tough time adjusting to his new circumstances.
Rafe: Oh. You mean he's been crying all night for his mother?
EJ: So Samantha came over to talk to him and to explain to him that she was not going to see him or Sydney ever again.
Rafe: Yeah, right, uh-huh. I'm sure she did. That sounds a lot like Samantha.
EJ: You don't believe me, Rafe?
Rafe: Of course I believe you, EJ. What reason have you ever given me not to believe you?
EJ: One of the conditions of this little arrangement is that I not get in the way of you being employed by the Salem Police Department. Oh, you didn't know about that either. Huh.
Rafe: No, sure didn't.
EJ: Well, congratulations. Now you do.
Rafe: Well, either way, I'm here for something more important. I need you to take a look at these and tell me what you see.
Melanie: There's something I didn't tell you.
Melanie: I heard you.
Melanie: You were talking in your sleep. You said "I love you, Melanie."
Nathan: That's because I do love you.
Ben: Excellent job, Nathan. Examination skills are really improving.
Nathan: Appreciate it.
Ben: Listen, uh, about earlier...
Nathan: Honestly, don't worry about it.
Ben: Well, I do. I was being intrusive. And--and I'm sorry. I'm actually very happy for you and Stephanie. She's a terrific woman.
Nathan: She is. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Lexie: Why would you think that? Why would you think that you failed Theo and me?
Abe: I should have been more sympathetic about your concerns for him. You know, sometimes I'm just so cavalier about the issues he has. Sometimes maybe I--I'm in some kind of denial. Maybe--maybe if I'd been a better husband all those years ago--
Lexie: Okay, no, no, stop. Stop right there. Whatever Sami said about you and me and our past, she was trying to hurt you, Abe. She was trying to hurt you because she's hurting. I love you. I love you with all my heart and soul. Don't you ever doubt that. Not for a second. Do you understand?
Abe: I love you, Lexie. More than you'll ever know.
Lexie: Oh, sweetheart.
Abe: I'll see you at home.
Nicole: We are done. Over. I mean it.
Brady: Why don't you-- why don't you pack your bags and get out of here?
Nicole: They're already packed.
Brady: Good. Well, what you waiting for then, you selfish little--
Nicole: Hey, hey, how dare you.
EJ: Why should I be interested in anything that you have to show me?
Rafe: Just look at Johnny. He's in all of those.
EJ: Look at Johnny? I do know what my son looks like, Rafe. I don't need to see any pictures.
Rafe: Yes, you do. Stop being an idiot. Just look at the pictures and tell me what you see.
Brady: The DiMera guesthouse? Are you serious?
Nicole: Mm. I thought it was a good idea at the time.
Brady: I think it's kind of a sucky idea.
Nicole: Well, you don't have a better one, do you, hot stuff? I-I can't stay here.
Nicole: Really. And it's a hell of a lot better than trying to find some god-awful bed buggy apartment.
Brady: Nicole, come on.
Nicole: Come on what?
Brady: This is really about Sydney, isn't it?
Nicole: No. No, it's not. It's--maybe a little bit. But I just--
Nicole: Okay. It is about Sydney. But I can't give up on her, Brady, just like I can't give up on you. This might be my only chance to have both of you--the two people I love the most in this world. Please. I have to do this.
EJ: Maybe it wasn't Samantha who put you up to this, but I know what's going on. You want to see Johnny so that you can make him realize how much she misses you and Samantha.
Rafe: This has nothing to do with me, EJ. I don't even need to be there when you examine him. Just look at him. Look at your son. Look at his left eye and see if there's anything wrong with him.
EJ: My son is--
Rafe: Better yet, take him to a doctor. Do that.
EJ: My son is fine. I was just playing a puzzle with him a few minutes ago before I put him down for his nap.
Rafe: Just look.
EJ: Good-bye, Rafe.
Philip: Daniel, why would you say something like that?
Daniel: I saw you with that woman from Titan last night.
Philip: What, Sabrina? You mean at the pub?
Daniel: Yeah. She was all over you. You weren't exactly pushing her away, though.
Philip: Oh, man, this is...
Daniel: Yeah? This is what? Hmm? A real bummer? You're hoping you wouldn't get caught, huh? At least not so soon.
Philip: You really think she and I--? Come on, man.
Daniel: Just tell me. Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me that you didn't cheat on my daughter.
Philip: Daniel, I would never do anything to hurt Melanie. I love her. She is my life.
Daniel: You son of a bitch. You're lying. You're lying.
Stephanie: Yes, that would be fantastic. Thank you so much again. Okay, I will. You too. Bye. Looks like I get my favorite flowers for the wedding.
Melanie: How nice.
Stephanie: Oh, I need to make sure everything is re-stocked.
Melanie: Doing it.
Stephanie: Thanks, Mel.
Melanie: Don't mention it.
Stephanie: [Sighs] Can you believe my wedding is actually happening?
Melanie: Isn't that just incredible?
Stephanie: I mean, I've always known that Nathan loves me. Just wasn't until recently that I realized how committed he was.
Melanie: Mm. Finally ready to settle down.
Stephanie: With me. I'm a lucky girl.
Melanie: Only, I wonder if you know how Nathan really feels.
Brady: I don't know how thrilled I am about this. I mean, EJ, he's gonna be watching you like a hawk.
Nicole: Oh, come on. You're the one who said that's half the fun, huh?
Nicole: We get to sneak around while he's distracted and find some cheap motel where we can rendezvous. Brady, listen. We will pull this off. I promise.
Brady: I do like a challenge. Don't I?
Nicole: Course you do.
Brady: Really do.
Nicole: I know you, Brady Black. You're the kind of guy who likes to overcome obstacles. Rise above.
Brady: Rise above, that's never been a problem.
Nicole: No. [Laughs] Wow.
Mary: Is there anything I can get you, Mr. DiMera?
EJ: Um, no. Thank you, Mary. Oh, Mary.
Mary: Yes, Mr. DiMera?
EJ: Is Johnny up from his nap yet?
Mary: Not yet.
EJ: Will you let me know when he is?
Mary: Of course.
Rafe: [Exhales heavily]
[Hard knocking at door]
Lexie: Where's Sami?
Rafe: Hey, Lexie, come on in. Wow. Timing's perfect. I was just about to call you. Listen, Sami and I really need your help.
Daniel: You sleazy bastard. You did--you did cheat on Melanie.
Philip: No. Daniel, you are wrong.
Daniel: The hell, I'm wrong. The hell I am. I can see it. You cheated on my daughter. You didn't think I'd find out? What, you thought you could get away with it, huh? Never.
On the next "Days of Our Lives" --
Nicole: EJ, is something wrong with Johnny?
Stephanie: Are you insinuating that Nathan is in love with you?
Daniel: I know--I know the truth. I know it.
