Sami: Hello? Hello, who is this?

EJ: There we go. Shh. Shh. Shh. [Grunts] Okay. Sweet dreams. When you wake up, Johnny and Sydney and I are gonna be a million miles away from you.

Allie: [Screams]

Maggie: [Moaning] Oh! Oh! Oh, there are spiders. [Whimpering] Okay, get a hold of yourself, girl. [Sighs] Oh, no spiders. Oh ho ho. No bugs of any kind. Mmm. Oh, one thing I can say about this place: There's no need for an exterminator. No problem. There. It's airtight. Nothing can get in. [Panting] Nothing can--can get out. [Panting]

Stephanie: Is that all you have time for is a sandwich?

Nathan: Uh, yeah, unfortunately. I'm helping cover for Daniel so he can spend time with Chloe and the baby. He is absolutely insane over that kid. It's so cute.

Caroline: Well, of course, he is. It's his son.

[Cell phone rings]

Nathan: Mm. Dr. Horton. What? Are you sure?

Stephanie: He looks upset.

Caroline: He'll be more upset if you tell him that the baby's father is Melanie's husband. You haven't changed your mind, have you, about being quiet?

Melanie: Brady.

Brady: Mel, hello.

Melanie: What are you doing here?

Brady: I, uh, came to see Chloe. I went to the gift shop to get some flowers. It's closed, though.

Melanie: You know already?

Brady: Of course, yeah. Daniel sent out a email to the whole world apparently. And rumor has it is you... you delivered the baby?

Melanie: Uh, yeah, not by choice, though.

Brady: Wow.

Melanie: Hmm.

Brady: Where's her room?

Melanie: Um, she's on this floor, but I just checked on her. She's sleeping. Luckily, everything went okay.

Brady: What do you mean?

Melanie: With the birth, you know. But the baby is so cute.

Brady: I'm sure, I'm sure. Honey, I actually gotta go. I'm sorry, I gotta run.

Melanie: Is something wrong? Are you okay?

Brady: Me? I'm fine. I'm good. Why?

Melanie: Yeah? Well, one, you look like you haven't slept in a year, and, two, you look like you're about ready to jump out of your skin.

Nicole: Sydney, you like these pretty car keys? I know, it's not the best toy, but I'll tell you what. The next time you visit, I'm gonna have this place tricked out. You are gonna have everything you want.

Rafe: If you're gonna blackmail people, Nicole, it's best not to leave your laptop lying around. You might not want to let her play with that. If she pushes the wrong button, all your leverage with Sami might just disappear.

Nicole: Mm-hmm. Well, like I told Sami before, I made sure I have plenty of backup. Didn't I, sweetheart? Didn't I say that? Oh, yes, I did. Come here you.

EJ: [Cheerfully] Allie!

Allie: What's wrong with Mommy?

EJ: Nothing's wrong with her. She's just sleeping.

Nicole: We are going to have the best time, Sydney. Know why? 'Cause we are gonna go buy out the toy store, and after the toy store, we're going to go on the merry-go-round and, ooh! You know what else we're gonna do? Okay, it's probably a little early for this, but in a couple of weeks, we are going to see Santa Claus! Yay, Santa Claus. Yes. And I know last Christmas, you were a little young to understand, 'cause you were just a baby, but this year, we are gonna have so much fun, huh? Ahem. Rafe?

Rafe: Hmm?

Nicole: You know, I was thinking, maybe, uh... maybe you guys could have her on Christmas Day, and I could have her Christmas Eve and maybe Thanksgiving?

Rafe: Yeah, I don't think so.

Nicole: You should be a little more open to negotiating, yeah. Otherwise, you'll be giving Sami her Christmas presents through the bars of the women's prison. You know, come to think of it, EJ's probably gonna go away, too. I mean, you have him admitting on tape that he kidnapped this sweet little girl, thanks to me. Do you really want to see her in foster care?

Rafe: Don't push your luck, Nicole. This little plan of yours could just backfire and end up biting you in the ass. Just like all the other plans that you've tried in your life.

Allie: I want Mommy to wake up.

EJ: Well, you know, your mummy is just very tired, because it is a lot of work taking care of you and those boys.

Allie: [Giggles]

EJ: So what we're gonna do, we are gonna let your mummy have a little nap, okay? Let her just get a nice little rest. There we go. Come here. You must be surprised to see me, hmm? I've missed you. Haven't seen you for a long time. Hey! Oh! Johnny! Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. How you doing? Oh, you're a wriggler today.

Vivian: Maggie? Oh, Maggie, are you there?

Maggie: Oh. Okay, you mean, am I still kicking? You bet.

Vivian: I thought you'd like to know that Gus has contacted Victor on your behalf, and I'm sure he's spreading the word to the rest of your nearest and dearest.

Maggie: What did you tell Victor?

Vivian: Oh, something that'll make him wish you Godspeed and not miss you at all.

Maggie: I don't really care what you said in your little, uh, communication. 'Cause nobody who knows me would believe for one minute that I blew town without... without saying my personal good-byes.

Vivian: Dear, sweet, naive, gullible Maggie. You'd be surprised at what people will believe.

Stephanie: Grandma, Nathan is right over there, okay? I don't want him to come back and find you harping over this.

Caroline: I'm not harping.

Stephanie: Oh, could have fooled me.

Caroline: You promised that you would keep quiet for now about Philip and Chloe.

Stephanie: The baby coming so early kind of blindsided me, but now I need to figure out the best thing to do.

Caroline: Well, while you're figuring what--the thing to do, the baby and Chloe and Daniel are becoming a family.

Stephanie: Stop it. Don't do this to me, okay? It's important to me to do the right thing.

Caroline: Well, I think I did the right thing when I changed the paternity test. Now just leave it.

Stephanie: What's wrong?

Nathan: That was Victor.

Stephanie: Kiriakis? Why is he calling you?

Caroline: Well, I'd certainly like to know that myself.

Nathan: Apparently, he got an email from my grandmother saying she left on a cruise.

Stephanie: You didn't have any idea that Maggie was thinking about doing that?

Nathan: No, and according to Victor, apparently, after the cruise ends, she might keep traveling.

Stephanie: For how long?

Nathan: That's what's freaking me out. She said she doesn't know when she'll be back.

Victor: Melanie, when's the last time you talked to Maggie?

Melanie: This morning. Why?

Victor: Did she say anything about going on a cruise?

Melanie: What?

Victor: Well, I just heard from her. She said she was going on a cruise and doesn't know when she's coming back.

Brady: Maggie did that?

Melanie: Not without talking to me, she didn't.

Victor: Well, she didn't talk to her grandson, either. I checked.

Melanie: Last time Maggie wanted to go on a cruise, she left me a list about a mile long of all the things I needed to do to take care of the house, and she hasn't said a word about leaving.

Brady: You've been busy with Chloe today, though.

Melanie: It doesn't matter. If Maggie left without telling anybody, then something's really, really wrong.

Nicole: [Sighs] This isn't a scheme, Rafe, or a plan or a whatever it is you call it, okay? This was meant to happen. She remembers me, Rafe. She remembers me taking care of her. She still loves me.

Rafe: She's kind of restless. Maybe she needs her diaper changed.

Nicole: She doesn't seem restless to me.

Rafe: Trust me, I've spent more time with her lately, so, uh... you want to do the honors, or shall I?

Nicole: Oh, right, and have you take her back to Sami? I don't think so. I got it, okay? Come here, sweetheart. You ready? Let's go change that dipey, huh? What do you say? Up, up, and away? [Sputters] Here we go.

Johnny: Why is mommy asleep?

Allie: She's tired.

Johnny: But she wasn't tired before.

EJ: You know, Allie, um, I was just thinking, I would love to see some of the work you've been doing at school.

Allie: I'll show you.

EJ: Okay. Listen, I, um... I didn't want to say anything in front of Allie, but, uh, your mother's not feeling very well. So that's why I came over here, so she can get some rest.

Johnny: Why weren't you here for so long?

EJ: It's, um... complicated, okay? But the point is I'm here now, and you and I are gonna be spending a lot of time together.

Johnny: Really?

EJ: Really? Really! Lots and lots and lots and lots of time. Lots and lots and lots and lots of time.

Johnny: [Giggles]

EJ: Whatever I've lost, I still have you. And that makes me a very lucky man.

Johnny: [Giggling]

EJ: [Blows raspberry]

Melanie: Hey, Maggie, it's Melanie. Um, I'm at work. But will you please leave me a message and let me know where you are as soon as possible? Love you. Well, her voicemail is the same. If she was going away for a long time, she would have changed that.

Brady: There is one possible explanation for what she did.

Victor: What's that?

Brady: Well, Maggie being my sponsor and all, she actually told me recently that the best thing I could do for myself is to stay away from you.

Victor: She said that?

Brady: Yeah. And I'm thinking that she may have decided to take her own advice. I'm outta here.

Nicole: Do you really think I'm stupid? [Scoffs] She didn't need her diaper changed, and you know it.

Rafe: What are you talkin' about?

Nicole: Oh, what am I talkin' about? And that's not what you were looking for, right? Yeah, that camera is for my reunion with Sydney, okay? Which would be a lot happier if you weren't here. So why don't you go back to Sami, Mr. "You can trust me"? Really. And then I will bring Sydney home when I feel like it, and the three of us can sit down, and we can discuss a regular visitation schedule. How's that? And you better make sure Sami cooperates. It's a good idea, because you are never, ever gonna find what you're looking for. Okay?

EJ: Hey, so listen, I was thinking you and I could spend a little bit of time together tonight.

Johnny: Really?

EJ: Really! Why don't you go and get your jacket?

Johnny: And Nigel?

EJ: Who's Nigel?

Johnny: My penguin.

EJ: Right. Yes, of course.

Johnny: He goes everywhere with me.

EJ: Okay, well, we're going on an adventure that is so big, I don't even know where we're going yet. How does that sound? Sound good? Okay, so you're going to get your jacket, you're going to get Nigel, and I am gonna get Sydney dressed.

Johnny: But Sydney's not here.

EJ: What do you mean, she's not here?

Johnny: She's not here.

EJ: Where is she?

Johnny: No, I don't know. Rafe took her somewhere.

EJ: Johnny, look at me. Where did Rafe take her? Okay, go and get your things. It's me. My son just informed me that my daughter is not here. Apparently, Rafe Hernandez has taken her somewhere. Now, you were the person who was supposed to be keeping an eye on him, so why don't you tell me where he is? I'm sorry, wh-- what? A traffic what? A ticket? Your job is to keep an eye on him. I had one chance to get this right, one! If you have blown this, you--

[Phone slams]

EJ: Great. Now what am I gonna do?

Caroline: Maggie wouldn't just leave town without letting me know when she'll be back for our wedding.

Stephanie: She said she was really excited about helping us with the plans.

Caroline: Excuse me. The bride's family does the planning.

Stephanie: Grandma, Nathan is worried about Maggie.

Caroline: Well, Maggie is a grown woman. I mean, she knows what she's doing.

Nathan: I know she was thinking about taking a trip before, but talked herself out of it. You think maybe she just-- she just took off so she couldn't have second thoughts again?

Stephanie: Yeah, I mean, maybe.

Nathan: Hey, we can't set a wedding date until we find out that she's gonna be back. Is that okay?

Stephanie: Sure. Yeah, I mean, we can't get married without Maggie.

Nathan: Thanks.

Vivian: How are you feeling, dear?

Maggie: Fine.

Vivian: The paint fumes aren't bothering you?

Maggie: Fumes? Paint fumes?

Vivian: Yes, the paint inside the coffin. I chose it from a special decorator's collection called "color me cuckoo." It has a mind-altering drug in it that sort of makes you eventually, well, [Laughs] Lose your mind.

Maggie: Oh, so that's what's happened to you. [Laughs] No, silly me. You were nuts to begin with!

Vivian: Nuts? Now, that's not a Maggie word, unless, of course, it's in a cookie. I think those fumes are beginning to work. Pretty soon, you won't even be able to remember your name.

Maggie: [Softly] Oh, God.

Rafe: I think I'll just hold on to this, 'cause I'm sure Sami would love to see pictures of the baby. Yeah.

Nicole: You threatened to kill me today. Do you really think that I would leave proof of what Sami did just lying around for you to get your hands on it? Poor Rafe. You did everything you could to keep Sami from EJ, and what does she do? She snuck out of your bed and went over to EJ's house and shot him and made you and Will accessories. And then she told your sister about it, and I have a video of it. So why don't you just face the facts, huh? I hold all the cards now. So get the hell out.

Rafe: Well, all right then, Nicole, but if I go, she goes with me, so what do you say? Come here, little princess. Come on, let's go home to Mommy.

Brady: Uh, what's going on? Why is he here, and why are you holding Sami's baby?

Rafe: Come here, sweetheart. There you go. Yeah. All right.

Johnny: I'm ready!

EJ: Hey. Come here. You know what, old man? We're gonna have to do this another time.

Johnny: Why?

EJ: Uh... well, because I just looked at my watch. It's getting late, and, uh, I forgot you have school tomorrow. So, listen, your mummy's gonna be waking up soon, all right? And she'd be worried if you weren't here, so why don't you go back to your room and play with Nigel? Okay? Hey. Oh, I love you. I'll come back, I promise. I give you my word of honor, all right? Okay, you go play. I'll be back. Promise.

Melanie: Okay, so I paged the resident on duty. He should be here any minute. So you were in Guatemala yesterday, and you started feeling bad today?

Javier: Mm-hmm.

Melanie: What were you doing in Guatemala?

Javier: I...I work for an organization, we build houses for the poor.

Melanie: That's very cool. Um, what came first, the headache or the fever?

Javier: The headache.

Melanie: Okay, well, the resident will be here any second to give you medicine for that pain. I really don't know where he is right now. I'm sorry. Um...

Nathan: All right.

Melanie: Where the hell have you been?

Caroline: Well, you must be very disappointed about having to postpone the wedding.

Stephanie: Don't you have something you need to be doing?

Caroline: No. Place practically runs itself.

Stephanie: Nathan is worried about Maggie. He's not having doubts about me.

Caroline: Well, if you let the cat out of the bag, before you nail him down...

Stephanie: "Nail him down"? Why don't I just club him over the head and drag him back to my cave? I'm not that desperate.

Caroline: Oh, really?

Stephanie: I love Nathan with my whole heart, but I figured something out. If the truth comes out and Melanie leaves Philip, I pray that it won't make any difference to Nathan, but if it does, I'd rather live with that than marry him and spend the rest of my life worrying about what Melanie might find out. I have too much self-respect for that. Isn't that what you taught me?

Nicole: Rafe is trying to broker a truce between Sami and me.

Brady: How about that? How's that workin' out?

Nicole: Well, there's still a few things to iron out, but it'll happen. Right, Rafe?

Rafe: Yeah. Anyway, our little princess looks tired. I think I'm gonna take her home.

Nicole: Oh, okay. Um, well, uh... good night, sweetheart. I'll see you later, okay? Bye.

Rafe: See ya. [Chuckling] Hey, can I tell you something? You--yeah, you. You got the makings of a first-class federal agent. Yeah, I know. There's a tree. You're seeing everything. Guess what's gonna happen if Nicole plugs that camera into her laptop? It's gonna delete everything. Stuff on her computer, stuff on the camera, and then guess what? You're never gonna have to see that crazy lady again. I know. Cool, right? Super cool.

[Keyboard clicking]

Nicole: What? Oh, my... that S.O.B. I should have known. Oh, my--

Brady: Who's the S.O.B.?

Nicole: Uh...

Brady: And don't give me any garbage about a truce.

EJ: Whatever you found out doesn't matter! Look, I had everything set up, and then you went and lost track of Sydney. What do you mean, "Rafe took Sydney to see Nicole?" All right, fine. Just get on the next plane out of Salem, all right? Okay, now, think. Why--why would Rafe take Sydney to see Nicole? That doesn't make any sense. Why would he do that? He wouldn't do that unless he didn't have a choice.

Nathan: Okay, Javier, these antibiotics should get the fever down, and the pain medication should be kicking in shortly, all right?

Javier: Hope so.

Nathan: Okay. Do you remember being bitten by an insect in Guatemala?

Javier: Uh, no.

Nathan: I'm gonna go ahead and admit you, because I want to run some tests, all right? Him set up for a CT scan and a spinal tap.

Melanie: I already did all that while we were waiting for you.

Nathan: Can I talk to you for a second? Don't worry, Javier. You'll be fine, all right? Do not use that tone with me in front of a patient.

Melanie: Come when I page you next time.

Nathan: I was tracking down Maggie, all right? Victor sent me an email saying that she left town.

Melanie: I know. I'm worried about her, too. That doesn't mean we get to blow off our patients. What?

Nathan: You think you know someone so well, and they can still surprise you.

Nicole: The S.O.B. Is the video guy from down at the station. I asked him to download a video on my computer, and now I have a virus, and I was gonna use the video on my broadcast tonight.

Brady: I see. Well, can you get a hold of the original?

Nicole: Yeah. I wouldn't lose that.

Brady: Okay, well, be very careful, because if the program is corrupted and you try to make another copy, the original could self-destruct. Don't know if you knew that.

Nicole: Oh. Right. That would be the whole idea.

Brady: What does that mean? And what the hell happened to your head?

Nicole: Oh. I, um... I ran into a cabinet that's...

Brady: Okay. Nicole, why was Rafe here with the baby, hmm?

Nicole: Brady, I ran into Sydney again the other night, and I realized that I still love her. I felt things that I haven't felt in a really long time, and I remember caring for something or-- someone so deeply, and it was like my life wasn't so...

Brady: Meaningless? Destructive, stupid? All of the above?

Nicole: Yeah. So I... I sucked it up, and I asked Sami if I could see Sydney every now and again.

Brady: Did she go for that?

Nicole: Well, I didn't think she would, but then Rafe showed up here with Sydney out of the blue. And, Brady, she remembers me. She still loves me. And I was hoping that Rafe and Sami would realize that it would be better for everyone if we worked something out. But I'm starting to think that they're just playing me.

Rafe: [Whispering] Hey, Johnny. Shh. Sydney fell asleep in the car. I want to get her to bed.

Johnny: [Whispering] Mommy's asleep, too.

Rafe: Oh, yeah? Sami. Sami? What happened?

Johnny: Daddy said she didn't feel good.

Rafe: Daddy? Daddy was here? Sami? Hey, Sami. You okay? Sami.

Javier: [Groans]

Melanie: Hey. Hey, I'm sorry. Um, Dr. Horton's taking care of you. He's gonna find out what's going on, okay?

Nathan: You're a good nurse.

Melanie: Thanks.

Nathan: Delivering Chloe's baby straight out of nursing school, it must have scared the hell out of you.

Melanie: Daniel loves that baby so much. I promised Chloe I wouldn't tell him what she did.

Nathan: You did?

Melanie: Yeah. But now that you've told Stephanie, it doesn't matter, because if she decides to open her big mouth and say something to get back at me, his whole world is gonna blow apart.

Stephanie: Grandma, I told you I'm not gonna tell anyone that you switched the paternity test results.

Caroline: I'm not worried about me.

Stephanie: Don't worry about me, either. Nathan already knows that Chloe slept with another man. If he finds out that it was Philip and that the baby's Philip's, and that I knew all along and didn't tell him, he will hate me forever.

Caroline: Well, what is worse--if you tell the truth, you may be losing him to Melanie.

Stephanie: I don't know. I...I know what I have to do now.

Rafe: Sami? Sami. Hey, Sami.

Sami: No, I--

Rafe: Honey, honey... hey, there you are.

Sami: Hey. Hey, Rafe. Where are the kids?

Rafe: They're fine, they're fine, they're fine. You were passed out when I came in. What happened?

Sami: I don't know. I was with you, right? And, uh... and then you left, and then I was talking to Will, and then he left, and then I thought he came back, you know. But there was someone knocking at the door, and... then I don't remember anything after that. Why? Why can't I remember?

Rafe: How do you feel?

Sami: Pretty queasy. Ahem.

Rafe: That's the chloroform.

Sami: What?

Rafe: Yeah.

Sami: I was chloroformed? What are you talking about?

Rafe: Mm-hmm, yeah. EJ chloroformed you.

EJ: [Exhales]

[Doorbell chimes]

EJ: Wonderful. Nicole.

Nicole: Hey, can I come in?

EJ: Please do. So what can I do for you?

Nicole: I know you will find this hard to believe, but I'm here because of what I can do for you.

Melanie: Okay, I'm gonna take these samples to the lab and have 'em put a rush on it. Will you please let me know if you find out anything about Maggie?

Nathan: Yeah, I'll let you know.

Melanie: I mean immediately. If you find out something, please tell--

Nathan: I got it. I will let you know, okay?

Melanie: Don't act like I'm nagging you, Nathan. I just want to know about Maggie. She means a lot to me, in case you've been too wrapped up in your own business to remember that.

Nathan: I'm well aware of your relationship with Maggie, okay? I know you guys are close. I'm just saying you don't have ask me over and over and over.

Melanie: I asked you twice!

Nathan: [Sighs] Okay, I'm outta here.

Melanie: Fine, bye.

Nathan: Do you really think that Stephanie would say something about Chloe just to get back at you?

Melanie: I don't think she'd say that's what she was doing, but, yeah, I think she would.

Nathan: Should I just cross you and Philip off the guest list, then?

Melanie: You can cross me off more than that. I'm gonna go get my schedule changed so that I don't have to work with you.

Nathan: Well, you do what you gotta do, all right?

Vivian: Maggie? Oh, Maggie?

Maggie: What do you want, Vivian?

Vivian: We can't let you go nighty-night without your supper.

Maggie: Oh, Vivian, I am still full from lunch-- watered-down chicken broth. Mmm-mmm! It's so filling.

Vivian: Oh, I am so sorry. I know you're used to three squares a day. Well, you know what they say, you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't-- mm, you know what I mean.

Maggie: Yes, I know what you mean.

Vivian: Maybe I can liven up the chicken broth with some... bacon bits and a chaser of champagne.

Maggie: Oh, champagne. Just leave me alone, Vivian!

Vivian: All right, we'll forget supper.

Maggie: Vivvy? Oh, what's happening to me? Okay. Someone will find me. Someone will find me. Please... someone. Oh, please find me.

Sami: Oh, my God, EJ did this to me? Ohh!

Rafe: Yep. I was talking to Johnny and Allie. EJ told Allie that you were tired and needed to get some sleep. He told Johnny that you weren't feeling well and needed to lay down.

Sami: Oh, my God.

Rafe: Then he got rid of Allie. Told Johnny to get his jacket 'cause they were going on a big adventure.

Sami: What?

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Sami: He was gonna take him?

Rafe: Yeah.

Sami: Why didn't he?

Rafe: Well, he didn't because Johnny told him Sydney wasn't here.

Sami: He was gonna take the kids, disappear for real this-- this time.

Rafe: What do you bet when I call the airport they tell me that the DiMera jet's all gassed up, ready to go?

Sami: Oh, my God, Rafe. Thank God you had Sydney with you.

Rafe: Yeah. We got lucky.

Sami: He could have been miles away. He could have been anywhere in the world by now. I mean... that bastard.

Rafe: It's not gonna happen again. It's not.

Sami: What are you gonna do?

Rafe: I'm gonna call your dad. I'm gonna have him picked up.

EJ: Nicole, what could you possibly do for me?

Nicole: Can we sit down?

EJ: [Laughs] "Can we sit down"? Please. So...

Nicole: Well...

EJ: Why are you here?

Nicole: Well, EJ, do you remember when it was just you, me, and Sydney? And we would put Sydney to sleep together and come down here and have a drink. Oh, those were the good days.

EJ: Mmm. They were nice, and then you lied.

Nicole: No, I did not lie about Sydney being your child. Or that I loved her with all my heart. That hasn't changed. We love Sydney as much as we ever did. That's why I'm here. EJ, what if I told you I could get you your children back?

EJ: I wouldn't believe you.

Nicole: What if I managed to convince you?

EJ: I'd give you anything you wanted. Why?

Nicole: Good. Because I could hand you Sami Brady on a silver platter.
