Maggie: Oh, way to go, Maggie. Vivian asked you to meet her a mausoleum no less. Instead of saying, "What? Are you out of your blanking mind, you sadistic old witch?", I give said witch the benefit of the doubt. I say, "Ha, okay, sure. See you there." [Sighs] Vivian? Vivian, are you there? Anyone? Someone? Help. Please. Get me out of here.

Vivian: Ah. I never thought I'd see the sunlight again. Thank you, Gus, for rescuing me from the depths of hell.

Gus: Anything for you, Madame.

Vivian: And now Homewrecker Horton will get exactly what she deserves. And it'll be so satisfying having seen first-hand what a distasteful ordeal it is.

Gus: Distasteful? It's more than distasteful. Those paint fumes can cause brain damage. You could've gone insane. Now that's the fate that awaits Maggie Horton or worse.

Vivian: Well, don't you think I know that, Gus? And why do you make it sound like such a bad thing?

Gus: Madame, it's too soon to rejoice. If Mr. Kiriakis finds out what you've done and seeks retribution, being trapped in a coffin's going to seem like a walk in the park.

Philip: So let me get this straight, we're gonna turn on that TV, and we're gonna see Vivian inside the coffin?

Victor: Live and in color with very nice lighting. Should be thankful it's not HD.

Philip: Ah, that is a break.

Victor: So shall we see what the old bag of wind is up to?

Melanie: It's me. I'm so over your lies. I need to see you right now.

Chloe: Melanie, look, I know that you're upset, but you have to trust me. We're doing the right thing.

Melanie: Okay, first of all, there's no we. And second of all, how's lying to my father the right thing to do?

Chloe: I thought we settled this.

Melanie: Well, I changed my mind. So meet me at Pier 17 right now.

Chloe: I can't right now, I have a doctor's appointment.

Melanie: Reschedule it. God, I can't do this anymore.

Daniel: Can't do what anymore?

Melanie: Uh, Dad, uh, I was just--I was just thinking about you.

Daniel: What can't you do anymore, Melanie?

Melanie: Hide the truth from you.

Nicole: You're so lucky.

Brady: Don't start.

Nicole: You're an heir.

Brady: Arianna never had time to change her will.

Justin: It's her last will of record, Brady. It's what she wanted.

Brady: Yeah, at one time. We broke off our engagement months ago. I haven't even seen her in weeks. I don't feel right accepting anything from her.

EJ: No. Well, of course not. As Arianna's friend and representative, I will be very happy to take care of the contents of her--

Sami: No, EJ, no. Absolutely not.

Rafe: Sami.

Sami: He's being completely insensitive. He's a total bastard.

Rafe: Sami, give me the box.

Sami: Does he not understand? This is her brother, okay? He is upset. And you making an announcement like you're just gonna, what, take care of the estate? Who the hell do you think you are?

EJ: I am the only person that she trusted.

Sami: And she only trusted you because she was naive, and gullible, and you were taking advantage of her.

EJ: She was not naive. She knew how whipped this boy was.

Sami: Oh, stop it.

EJ: And she knew right from the beginning that you were gonna take him down with you.

Rafe: Shut the hell up.

EJ: You gave up your career for her. You're lying for her. I mean, come on, Samantha, nice being a father of four kids, didn't even sire them.

Rafe: I said shut the hell up.

EJ: Hey, you watch your hands.

Justin: Hey, hey, hey. Rafe, Rafe, you don't want to do that. You don't want to do that. Let it go. Let it go.

Victor: You sure you're okay with this?

Philip: Dad, the woman tried to kill my wife. I'm more than okay with a little payback.

Victor: Well, let's see what our guest is doing. What the hell's going on here?

Vivian: I'm just trying to have my moment in the sun--literally. There you go raining on my parade as usual with your depressing predictions.

Gus: All I'm trying to say, Madame, is--

Vivian: I know what you're trying to say. I just wish you'd wait a while before you bring me down. I mean, I have been in a coffin for weeks. I deserve a little light-heartedness and gaiety.

Gus: We must be realistic, Madame.

Vivian: Oh, I suppose you're right. Well, the gaiety was fun while it lasted, all two minutes of it. I guess we ought to go before Victor finds out I'm free. Fast. Come on. Let's go. Hurry.

Maggie: [Cries] Get hold of your-- get hold of yourself. Get hold of yourself, Maggie. Soon... soon--any minute, someone will realize you're missing. Victor. Melanie. [Cries] Brady. They'll sense your absence and... and--and then you'll be rescued. Oh, and this--this nightmare will be over. Oh, please, God, let this over-- be over. [Crying]

Philip: What happened to Vivian?

Victor: How should I know?

Philip: Maybe it's on the wrong channel.

Victor: There is no wrong channel. We should be able to see her.

Philip: Maybe the monitor's broken.

Victor: Something is sure as hell wrong, and we have to figure out what the hell it is.

Daniel: Sounds serious.

Melanie: It is. Uh, uh, I can't really talk to you about it right now though 'cause I have to go catch the ferry.

Daniel: No, no. No, you can't do that. You can't tell me there's something serious to discuss and then just leave.

Melanie: Right, I know, I'm sorry. Just trust me. I'll tell you when you come to pick me up at the cabin. Uh, did Maggie give you the keys to the Horton boat?

Daniel: No, she gave them to Maxine at the hospital. I'll pick them up when I check on my last patient. Why don't you come on the boat with me?

Melanie: That's okay. You go. You do your thing. And I'll--I'll clean up the cabin for Maggie and also get the rocking chair ready.

[Cell phone rings]

Daniel: [Sighs] All right, I got to go. But promise me we will talk when we get to the cabin.

Melanie: Yeah, I promise. I love you.

Daniel: Love you.

Brady: Come on, knock it off! Knock it off!

Justin: Look, both of you just settle down. Look, there's nothing in this box except some legal papers, okay?

Roman: Hey, everybody.

Rafe: What's up, Roman?

Roman: I'm glad you're here, Rafe.

Rafe: Yeah, why's that?

Roman: There's been a break in your sister's case.

Rafe: Did you find the scum that ran down my sister?

Roman: No, but a witness came forward. He's down at the station waiting to be questioned. I thought you'd want to be there.

Rafe: Hell, yeah, I do.

Roman: He said he's got some news. Could be useful.

Sami: All right, well, we'll come with you, Dad. Um, hey, Brady, if you need anything...let me know.

Brady: Thanks. Thanks, Sami.

Justin: Well, I better get going. This is yours. The key to Arianna's safety deposit box is in there. And just return the signed forms whenever you get a chance.

Brady: Thanks.

Nicole: Hey.

Brady: [Exhales]

Nicole: Why don't we go back to the mansion and chill out for a little bit?

Brady: You know, I kind of want to take care of this safety deposit box thing now.

Nicole: Okay, you've had enough to deal with today. I'm sure this can wait till tomorrow.

Brady: I just want to take care of her last wishes. I owe her that.

Chloe: Melanie, hey.

Melanie: You're late.

Chloe: Yeah, I know, I'm sorry. I ran into my doctor, and he insisted that I have a checkup. But you'll be happy to hear that your little brother or sister is doing just great. Or you're not happy to hear that.

Melanie: No, of course, I'm happy to hear that. I'm not completely heartless.

Chloe: You didn't say anything. I don't know.

Melanie: Yeah, that's 'cause I didn't ask to speak with you so we could discuss your doctor's appointment, which you were supposed to reschedule.

Chloe: I said I was sorry. Look, Melanie, I was thinking since you're going to be a big sister soon, it would be really cool if you helped Daniel and me pick out a name for the baby. We have a few picked out, but I know your dad would be--

Melanie: Stop. Stop that. Stop. Please don't do that.

Chloe: What? Stop what?

Melanie: Make light of the situation. Suck up to me. Can you not tell I'm upset? I don't want to talk about a baby's name.

Chloe: Okay, I'm sorry. I can tell you're upset. I was just trying to--

Melanie: Avoid reality? Manipulate me like you do everybody else?

Chloe: I'm sorry you see me that way.

Melanie: God, Chloe, I'm even sorrier you are that way. Because my dad happens to be married to you.

Chloe: Melanie, I love your dad more than anything in this world. And all I want to do is make him happy. That is my goal in life.

Melanie: Well, that must be a new goal.

Chloe: New?

Melanie: Was that your goal when you were sleeping with another guy?

Chloe: That's really cruel, and you know why that happened.

Melanie: It doesn't matter why it happened, Chloe. All that matters is that it did happen. All that matters is that while you were confused about my father's feelings towards you, instead of going and talking to him and trying to get to the bottom of the situation, you did the really mature and honorable thing, and you slept with a guy that you hardly even know.

Chloe: Look, you said on the phone that you were having second thoughts. What does that mean?

Melanie: Unlike you, Chloe, I can't keep lying to my dad. So I'm telling him the whole sordid truth.

Vivian: Oh. Mm. Oh. We have to order room service immediately. All that disgusting gruel, I could eat this entire menu. In fact, order the entire menu and lots of Dom to celebrate my freedom. Oh.

Gus: Yes, Madame.

Vivian: In the meantime, I'm going--I'm going to draw a bath. I can't wait to soak these tired bones in some bubbles. You know, this would make a perfect base of operation. It's cozy. No one could find us here.

Gus: Unless Mr. Kiriakis discovers you've made the switch.

Vivian: Oh, here we go again.

Gus: Then nothing will stop him from hunting us down like wild animals.

Vivian: Enough of the doom and gloom, Gus. We've covered our tracks. The coffin monitor's not sending signals. No one can see inside. Maggie can only hear me, and no one knows that she's rotting in there instead of me.

Gus: I don't know, Madame. I still feel like your plan could go wrong. Horribly wrong.

Philip: Maybe we should try again later.

Victor: No, I have to know right now what's going on with that horrid woman. Let me try the audio. Hello, Vivian. Vivian, it's Victor. Vivian, are you there? Hello?

Roman: Mr. Satterfield, this is Rafe Hernandez, the brother of the deceased.

Rafe: Hi.

Satterfield: I'm so sorry for your loss, Mr. Hernandez.

Rafe: Thank you. So you were there when the car hit my sister?

Satterfield: I was, yes. It's such a tragedy. I hope I can help find the person responsible.

Rafe: Yeah, me too. Uh, please, just tell me everything you remember. Everything you saw.

Daniel: I'm sorry you and Abe didn't make the wedding.

Lexie: Oh, Daniel, we were too. I mean, congratulations. Oh. Mmm.

Daniel: Thank you.

Lexie: I'm sure it was the most perfect day.

Daniel: Yeah.

Lexie: Just yeah?

Daniel: No, I mean, definitely. No, it was great. It was great.

Lexie: Yeah, I mean, come on. You and Chloe--you finally did it.

Daniel: We did, yeah.

Lexie: Yeah. [Exhales]

Daniel: What? What is it?

Lexie: Arianna's death, you know, it's just such a tragedy.

Daniel: Yeah, I know. Such a young woman. Whole life ahead of her.

Lexie: Yeah. I've been worried about Melanie losing her best friend. How's she doing?

Daniel: Uh, not too well, actually. I mean, first she was upset with Chloe and now Arianna. It's--it's just a lot.

Lexie: Why was she upset with Chloe? Never mind, none of my business.

Daniel: No, no, no, it's okay. It's okay. Chloe said something that she wishes she could take back. Hurt Melanie's feelings. I was hoping things would get resolved, but, uh, obviously, they're not.

Lexie: Oh, too bad. I'm sorry.

Daniel: Yeah, me too. I was hoping that my wife and daughter could get along. Especially with a new baby coming. You know, uh, I had this fantasy of a big, happy family. Melanie and her husband. Chloe, me, and our kid. But, uh, that's all it is, obviously. Just a fantasy.

Chloe: Melanie, please, don't. Why would you want to do this? Telling Daniel the truth now would only be hurtful to him. And what good would it do?

Melanie: All Daniel has done is love and protect me. I have to return the favor. How could I in good conscience have this information and not give it to him? It's too important, Chloe.

Chloe: No, it isn't. It has no bearing on his life right now. It's not like it's ever gonna happen again. My God, I-I was fooled into thinking that something happened. It happened and it didn't. I freaked out. Have you never freaked out before and made a mistake?

Melanie: This is not about me.

Chloe: Yeah, but it's a relevant question. You can't judge somebody when you yourself have made mistakes and done hurtful things.

Melanie: I've made up my mind. I'm telling him. I'm sorry.

Chloe: Oh, my God.

Melanie: You have a little bit of time to talk to Daniel before I talk to him. So if you want to do the right thing and come clean, be my guest. In fact, I hope that you will. But I won't be holding my breath. Got to go. The ferry's coming.

Chloe: Melanie, wait. Look, this isn't just about ruining my life. If the truth about my affair comes out, it's gonna destroy your life too.

Victor: Vivian, answer me, damn it!

Vivian: Victor, is that you?

Victor: What happened to you? Why are you ignoring me?

Vivian: I'm sorry, darling. I must be imagining things. Must be the paint fumes. They're making me loopy.

Victor: Well, get unloopy and focus. Something's wrong with the damn monitor. I can't see you.

Vivian: Oh, well, how could that be?

Victor: That's what I want to know.

Vivian: Maybe you should come down here and let me out for a while so I could help you fix it?

Victor: Never mind. I can go without seeing your face.

Vivian: Yes, of course. I-I can understand that. My mascara must be running all over my face.

Victor: I've got to go.

Philip: Everything okay?

Victor: Apparently.

Vivian: Good work, Gus. The audio connection is redirected to me instead of the coffin. And because I'm such a wonderful actress--did you know that I majored in theater in college?

Gus: I'm learning something new about you every day.

Vivian: Well, obviously, I still have my chops. No one's going to know that I'm out of the coffin and free. Now let's just see if your magic worked. Maggie? Ahoy. Are you there?

Maggie: Vivian. Uh, listen, I've decided that if you let me out of here, I won't say a word to Victor. Not a word. It'll be strictly between us. Our little secret.

Vivian: You would do that?

Maggie: I would. Look, we've had our differences. But, um, we can work through them. We'll, uh, we'll try to see the best in each other from now on.

Vivian: Well, that's very touching, Maggie, but it's a moot point because, you see, from now on, your life is not in my hands, it's in Victor's.

Melanie: Are you threatening me, Chloe?

Chloe: No, that's not what I meant. I just--

Melanie: What?

Chloe: Like I said before, if you tell Daniel, he's just going to hate you for keeping the secret for as long as you have. You're going to ruin your relationship with him.

Melanie: And like I said before, that's something I have to risk. So whether you tell him or whether I tell him, the truth comes out today.

Chloe: No. It can't. And it won't.

Brady: Well, uh, I guess I'll just put everything in here and go through it at home. Hmm.

Nicole: You guys were happy, weren't you?

Brady: Yeah, we were. We just had too many problems in our way.

Nicole: Like me.

Brady: Nicole, you were not the reason we broke up. We had trust issues.

Nicole: But still I didn't make it easy for you two. And I'm sorry.

Brady: Thank you. I just--I just keep wondering.

Nicole: What?

Brady: What she was thinking when she ran out--ran out into that street. What was going through her mind right before she died?

Satterfield: You know, I-I-I didn't think I had any useful information. But then I remembered that the license plate was from Illinois. I don't recall any of the numbers, but--

EJ: I didn't miss anything?

Roman: EJ, you're really not needed here.

EJ: I think I have a right to hear what this man has to say, thank you.

Sami: You don't belong here and no one cares what you want.

EJ: That's rather rich coming from you, Samantha. The victim was not only a client of mine, she was also a very dear friend.

Satterfield: I recognize you. You were there when she was hit. You tried to help her. Let him stay. I-I saw how kind he was to that girl, and I'm sure--I'm sure this gentleman needs closure too.

EJ: Thank you. Thank you.

Rafe: So do you remember anything else besides the license plate?

Satterfield: Ever since the accident, something vivid has stayed in my mind, and it's something I'm sure all of you would want to know.

Vivian: You see, Maggie, as far as Victor knows, I'm still rotting away in that sarcophagus. And if he decides to let me perish, well, you're out of luck.

Maggie: I know Victor did a terrible thing locking you in here. But he--he wouldn't have let you die. I just know he wouldn't have.

Vivian: Oh, well, then--then you have hope, because if he feels that he has punished me enough, then he'll open the coffin, and you'll be free and making oatmeal cookies before you know it.

Maggie: I have to believe that Victor never meant to hurt you. And maybe some kind of misguided prank, that's all. I don't know what the point was, but--

Vivian: Let me just clarify something. I did all the planning. And it wasn't a misguided prank.

Maggie: What--what are you--?

Vivian: And I had the sarcophagus custom-made for you, Maggie.

Maggie: What?

Vivian: Everything went a bit awry, and I ended up in there instead of you. But thank heavens, everything's as it should be.

Maggie: Vivian, you know, it isn't too late. I mean, you can fix things. I mean, if you--if you love-- you still love Victor?

Vivian: Love him? Ha. After what he did to me? I detest every cell in Victor Kiriakis' body, and I'm going to make the bastard pay.

Maggie: Oh.

Victor: Still no picture?

Philip: Nope.

Victor: Well, I don't know what the hell else it could be.

Philip: Hmm. Maybe we should head down to the mausoleum, see if everything's in order.

Victor: Let's go.

Daniel: I don't know. The way Melanie's talking, I'm worried she might do something to... I don't know.

Lexie: Like what? Getting back at Chloe for hurting her? Thank you.

Daniel: You know, I don't know. I'm not so sure. I don't think that's her style, really. I guess she's just sorting through things, you know. Anyway, you know, I got to get to the Horton cabin. And, Maxine, she left Maggie's boat key here for me?

Lexie: Yeah, yeah, I saw them on your tray at the nurses' station.

Daniel: All right, great. Well, I'll go see Mrs. Delgado one more time, and then I will be out of here.

Lexie: Daniel, again, congratulations.

Daniel: Ah, thank you. Thank you.

Lexie: All the best to you and Chloe.

Daniel: All right, thank you.

Maggie: Vivian, what are you talking about? What are you--what are you gonna do to Victor?

Vivian: Maggie, it's nice chatting with you, but your voice is giving me a migraine. I'm hanging up now.

Maggie: Wait! Vivian, don't go.

Vivian: Ta-ta for now.

Philip: Everything seems normal. Well, as normal as it can be with a crazy lady trapped inside a coffin.

Victor: Unless...

Maggie: [Grunting] Oh. Oh, God. Oh, it's too heavy. Oh, God. I have to warn Victor that that maniac is planning to get back at him. Mmm. I have to warn him. [Gasps] Victor! Victor! Can you hear me?

Satterfield: I was--I was walking away from the flower shop, and I saw your sister dart out into the street. She seemed almost scared like she was running from someone. And then--and then the car hit her. Um, and what I want you to know is I don't think she knew what happened. I'm guessing she didn't suffer either 'cause she was--she was knocked out immediately. Although I heard she regained consciousness at the hospital.

Rafe: Briefly.

Satterfield: Such a tragedy. I wish I could tell you more about the driver, but the car--it just drove away so fast.

Rafe: Do you remember anything else?

Satterfield: No.

Rafe: Nothing at all?

Satterfield: My eyes were mostly on your sister. I can still see her hitting the ground, her purse flying from her. I do--I recall seeing a small object get tossed from her purse.

Daniel: It's a boy.

Melanie: Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh, Dad, congratulations. You still hate me for telling you about Chloe's affair, don't you? Come on, Melanie, you have to do this. Even if he does hate you. He deserves to know.

[Door opens]

Melanie: Dad, I didn't-- Chloe. What are you doing here?

Chloe: I came here to stop you.

Melanie: Stop me from what?

Chloe: From making a horrible mistake?

Melanie: How did you even get here? Because I took the last ferry.

Chloe: Maggie's boat.

Melanie: Give me the keys.

Chloe: No. No. No way.

Melanie: Chloe, give me Maggie's keys.

Chloe: No.

Melanie: Are you--? Chloe! Chloe.

[Water splashes]

Chloe: Ah. Good arm. Right in the lake.

Melanie: Right in the-- are you insane?

Chloe: We are not going anywhere until I convince you to keep your mouth shut even if it takes me all day and night.

Melanie: Oh, okay, how are you gonna explain that to my dad?

Chloe: I'll think of something.

Melanie: Oh, good, another lie. You know what, this stops now, okay?

Chloe: What are you doing?

Melanie: I'm calling your husband to let him know that his new wife is not only a complete slut, but she's also a psycho and a thief.

Chloe: Yeah, well, good luck with that. I used to live here. I know the reception is crap.

Melanie: Well, was. Maggie upgraded the service. Full bars.

Chloe: What? No. Give me that.

Melanie: No, no, I'm sorry. This is done. You're done.

Satterfield: I'm not sure what the object was. I remember it was shiny, so it could've been a phone or an electronic device. You think it was important?

Sami: Probably not.

EJ: Uh, look, uh, what happened to this object? Did you see where it landed?

Satterfield: Could've slid into a gutter.

EJ: The gutters were searched. We didn't find anything.

Satterfield: I don't know what to tell you.

Roman: Mr. Satterfield, I need to ask you some questions in private. Let's go to my office.

Satterfield: I hope I was able to provide a little peace of mind.

Rafe: Yes. Thank you.

Sami: Yeah.

EJ: Thank you. So... whatever flew out of Arianna's purse, that was the evidence she had against you, wasn't it?

Sami: Oh, stop it, EJ, there is no evidence.

EJ: Really? See, I think your luck, Samantha, just ran out.

Brady: You know what, I guess I should get started. I want to make sure that Arianna's wishes are carried out as soon as possible. I want to make sure her family gets this stuff.

Nicole: This can't be easy for you.

Brady: I'll be right back.

Nicole: It's too--too sad. Cheap jewelry and... tacky knickknacks. Hmm. Well, at least she left her family some money. Oh. What's this?

Vivian: We need to invest in a Jacuzzi tub. It's so invigorating. Ah.

Gus: The food's arrived, Madame.

Vivian: Oh, it certainly has.

Gus: What would you like to start with?

Vivian: Well, let's see, how about a grape?

Gus: As you wish.

Vivian: Oh, come on. I'm not an invalid. I can feed myself.

Gus: I see Madame is regaining her strength.

Vivian: You know what, Gus, be useful and bring me a pen and paper.

Gus: What for?

Vivian: Well, we have a lot of work to do. We have to make sure that Maggie Horton's never found.

Victor: I'm going to post a guard down here. Now that the monitor's not working, I'd feel much better if the place were more secure.

Philip: Good idea.

Victor: Let's go back up to the house.

Maggie: No, Victor. Please! Please don't go! [Gasps] My God. Can he hear me?

Philip: Dad, what's wrong?

Victor: You know, much as I hate the sight of that woman, I feel the need to see her face-to-face.

Philip: You feeling bad for her now?

Victor: I just want to look into Vivian's beady eyes and let her know that she's getting exactly what she deserves. This is all her doing.

Philip: Well, then do it. Let's open up that coffin right now.

Melanie: It's dialing.

Chloe: Please don't do this. Just give me the phone.

[Cell phone ringing]

Daniel: Melanie, what's up?

Melanie: Dad, we need to talk right now.

Daniel: What--we are going to talk. That's the plan, isn't it?

Melanie: Yeah, but this can't wait. Please.

Chloe: Oh.

Daniel: Melanie, you sound like you're out of breath. You have me worried. What's going on?

Melanie: Hold on one sec. Stop that. I'm not falling for that.

Chloe: Oh, God. No. God. I think the baby's coming.

Philip: So shall I do the honors?

Victor: The lever's right there.

Maggie: Victor? Philip, help me, please. Please get me out of here!

EJ: I'm going to find this evidence, Samantha. Just a matter of time.

Sami: Bring it on, EJ.

Rafe: Aye-yi-yi.

Sami: Rafe, he's gonna have his men search the drains and the gutters.

Rafe: Sami, first of all, as he already pointed out, the area's already been searched. Now, secondly, all of the drains in Salem feed towards the bay, which, incidentally, is where the pump is. So even if they were to find something like a camera, chances are it would be waterlogged.

Sami: So you think it's over? I mean, that's it? It's--it's over?

Nicole: Oh, what the hell. Could be something juicy.

Sami: I had to stop him. The next thing I know, I had that gun in my hand, and I pulled the trigger. I shot him.

Nicole: Oh, sweet mother of God.

Victor: We're no longer going to have any contact with the wicked witch of the graveyard out there.

Maggie: No, Victor! Don't leave me here!

Nicole: If I put this on the 6:00 news, it'll be all over for Sami.

Rafe: I want to get married. I don't want to wait. I think we should do it right now. Let's just do it.

Sami: Now?

Rafe: Yeah.

On the next "Days of Our Lives" --

Stefano: Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get your children back?

Chloe: Melanie!

Melanie: I have to tell you right now. This really can't wait.

Chloe: Oh, my God, my water just broke.
