Victor: Hello, Maggie.
Maggie: Victor, I got your message. It sounded important.
Victor: I'm not gonna beat around the bush, Maggie. I love you.
Maggie: Oh, Victor...
Victor: I know that you don't feel the same way yet. You're still grieving. But I'm a patient man.
Maggie: No, you're not.
Victor: Right. Maggie Horton, I'm going to make you love me.
Maggie: Oh, Victor, don't you know you ha--ah!
Victor: Good God, woman, what have you done?
Vivian: If I can't have you, no one can. Oh. Oh, God. Oh, it was only a dream. Ah... lovely dream. Now I just have to get out of here so I can make it a reality.
Nicole: [Sighs] Okay, I just--I just don't think I'm the right person for this particular assignment.
Victor: Oh, stop complaining. You can do it. Just pretend that she's an aluminum-siding salesman sitting on the barstool next to you.
Nicole: All right, all right. I just don't think it's gonna work.
Maggie: You don't think what's gonna work?
Will: [Sighs] Excuse me? Hi, uh, there's something that I need to talk to you about.
Rafe: I want you to tell me honestly. What are her chances?
Walters: Well, she made it through the surgery. That's the big thing. But she's lucky to be alive. We're gonna have to monitor her condition very closely for the next 24 hours.
Rafe: When can I see her?
Walters: She should be coming out of the anesthesia soon.
Rafe: After everything that's happened, uh, what are the chances that she's gonna be the same again?
EJ: Arianna... hey. It's me... EJ. Can you hear me? Hey. Good girl.
EJ: Hey. You know, you gave us quite a scare.
Arianna: I had to tell you.
EJ: What is it you have to tell me?
Arianna: I have the proof.
Nicole: Thanks for inviting me in.
Maggie: Oh, don't thank me. One of Salem's notorious citizens come calling on me at this hour of the night? Mmm. My life hasn't been this exciting since the day my sump pump broke.
Nicole: [Chuckles weakly]
Maggie: So you want to tell me who you were talking to?
Nicole: It--it--it was Brady. He sent me.
Maggie: Brady, mm. He's been avoiding me like the plague for some time, which I'm sure you know all about. So... now you want to tell me the truth?
Walters: Your sister suffered a blunt-force trauma to the thoracic area...
Walters: Broken ribs that lacerated her heart, a fractured sternum, and a pneumothorax, which is a collapsed lung. She's gonna have a fairly long recovery period.
Rafe: But she's gonna make it?
Walters: I'm hopeful. When you see her, she'll probably have some trouble speaking. She'll be a little confused. She might even ask you what happened to her--that sort of thing. She probably won't have any memory of the accident or even a period of time before the accident.
Rafe: Okay. Oh, hey.
Sami: Rafe, oh, my God. Oh, my God. She recorded me saying it. She recorded me saying that I did it.
Sami: She's gonna take it to EJ. We have to stop her.
Rafe: Memory loss might be the best thing for us.
Walters: Excuse me?
Rafe: Nothing. I just, uh... we haven't been getting along that well lately. Arianna and I just... well, hopefully she won't remember that. Yeah. If she had died in that accident, I... anyway, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for giving us another chance.
EJ: Arianna, you were such a loyal friend to me.
EJ: Are you in pain? I-I can get a nurse.
Arianna: No, just--no, please listen to me, please.
EJ: No, you listen to me, okay? Just--shh, okay? Quiet, okay? You let me do the talking, all right? So you say you have proof. Do you have proof... that Will or Samantha shot me?
Arianna: I know everything.
Maggie: Okay, girlfriend, give it up. You didn't just stop by for some carrot cake.
Nicole: You have carrot cake? I love carrot cake.
Maggie: I'm waiting.
Nicole: Okay. The person I was talking to on the phone was Victor.
Maggie: Victor despises you.
Nicole: True. But--but things are different now.
Nicole: Okay, that's actually a little tricky to explain.
Maggie: Okay, you know what? I'm just gonna call Victor and ask him why you showed up on my doorstep.
Nicole: Wait, wait, wait. Victor is the one who sent me here.
Maggie: Why? Why?
Nicole: Uh.... because he... he thinks he's in love with you.
Maggie: He said that?
Nicole: Yeah. Um, can I-- can I have a fork?
Maggie: Victor sent you over here to tell me that he's in love with me?
Nicole: That's not all. Oh, my gosh, this is heaven. Oh, thank you.
[Chair scrapes floor]
Maggie: What else?
Nicole: Well... I'm supposed to influence you.
Maggie: To do what?
Nicole: What else? To love him back.
Victor: Hey, Viv, still breathing?
Vivian: Yes, I'm still breathing, Victor. Delightful to see you even if you've been a bit of a pill.
Victor: Well, you've given me good cause.
Vivian: I'm sorry about what I said before--that Maggie couldn't love someone like you.
Victor: One of the least of your offenses.
Vivian: I was jealous. You're such a powerful, handsome, charismatic man. And, of course, she could fall in love with you. She probably already has. I knew I was going to lose you to her.
Victor: Vivian, you never had me. Only reason I married you is because Bo said he'd kill you if I didn't.
Vivian: How chivalrous of you.
Victor: It had nothing to do with that. I knew that he meant it. And I didn't want to be visiting my son in prison.
Vivian: I understand.
Victor: Do you?
Vivian: I've had a lot of time to think here in my little purgatory of my own making.
Victor: Why, Vivian, you sound so reasonable. I'm sure if I let you out, you would go gently into that good night.
Vivian: If you believe that, Victor, you're a fool. And you're nobody's fool.
Abe: Hey, now, do you know what they call a pumpkin with a face carved on it and a lit candle in it, huh? A jack-o'-lantern.
Lexie: Hey, hey, my two favorite people in the whole wide world.
Abe: Hey, Mom.
Lexie: Hi, sweetheart. What you got there, honey?
Lexie: Very good.
Abe: So how's Arianna doing?
Lexie: Mm. Well, she made it through the surgery. She's holding her own.
Abe: Why do you look so sad?
Will: Um, I, uh--I went to the nursery to look at the new babies. Uh, they're so cute, by the way. And, uh, there's this lady that was kind of hanging around, and something seemed kind of off about her.
Nurse: What do you mean "off"?
Will: Well, she--she kept staring at the babies. And--and she was kind of crying. And, um, she kept looking around, like, to check and see if anybody, you know, was noticing her.
Nurse: Did you say something to the floor nurse there?
Will: Do you think I should have? She did seem really strange.
Nurse: It's pretty quiet here now. Um, I'm gonna go check it out.
Will: Okay. Thanks a lot.
Will: Whew. Okay.
Will: Gabi, hi.
Gabi: What are you doing back there? Isn't this my sister's purse?
EJ: You say you know everything? What does--what does that mean exactly?
Rafe: Hey. Hey, what the hell are you doing in this room?
Maggie: How are you supposed to influence me?
Nicole: All right. I was supposed to make up some sob story about Victor so that you would feel bad for him, so you'd go rushing over to his place to make him feel better. Dumb, huh?
Maggie: Desperate is more like it. Does he really believe that that would work?
Nicole: Well, hope springs eternal in the land of Victor. Okay, but I do have to say... now that I've been living at the house again...
Maggie: You... what?
Nicole: It was Brady's idea. You're gonna have to ask him. But now that I've been spending a little more time around Victor, I do have to say that... he does seem, well... different.
Maggie: Different how?
Nicole: It's like he's lost his edge, right, from back in the day. I mean, he would never let me step foot in the mansion. And now that he's handed Titan over to Philip and Brady, it's like he's given up trying to run their lives.
Maggie: Well, I haven't seen him acting like that.
Nicole: That's because he's hiding it from you. Really. Listen, all he's been doing is moping around the mansion in his bath robe.
Maggie: Victor? Why?
Nicole: I have a theory. It has something to do with Isabella.
Victor: If you're not giving in so that I'll let you out, what are you up to?
Vivian: I'd like you to think about something.
Victor: What's that?
Vivian: You and I are a lot more alike than you'd like to admit. We don't care how many laws we break, how many people we hurt, as long as we get what we want.
Victor: Everybody's like that.
Vivian: Not Maggie Horton. Let's face it, Victor, you don't deserve a woman like that, but you'll just keep after her until you win her over.
Victor: Don't you think that you're oversimplifying here?
Vivian: [Sighs] Let's just look at the future. Let's say you do win her over... and then she finds out that you've locked me in a coffin. Your little romance will be over permanently.
Kinsey: Hi, Mrs. Brady.
Caroline: Hi, Kinsey.
Kinsey: Where are you two off to at this time of night?
Caroline: Well, I thought we would go clubbing.
Caroline: Actually, she's been fussing a whole lot tonight. So she kind of knows, you know, that things are at 6s and 7s.
Kinsey: Yeah. I heard about what happened to Gabi's sister. It's--it's just--it's awful.
Caroline: Beyond awful. Well, anyway, my son Roman is gonna look after the kids while I pick up a change of clothes. So I thought I would take Sydney on the drive, and maybe that would help her go to sleep. Something has to.
Kinsey: You have so much to deal with. Hey, do you want me to take her to the pumpkin patch while you go to Sami's?
Caroline: Oh, no, that's very kind.
Kinsey: No, she'll be okay with me. Hey, Sydney, right, who gets you the big pretzels to chew on? So it's--it's a go?
Caroline: Well, uh, the reason I'm dithering is because of Sydney's father, EJ DiMera.
Kinsey: Yeah, I know who he is.
Caroline: You can't let him come anywhere near her.
Kinsey: Oh, don't worry, Mrs. Brady. I'll take good care of her. Hey, Sydney, you and I are going to have so much fun, right? Come on. Come on, can I have your hand? Come on, we're gonna go. Come on.
Caroline: All right. Go ahead.
Kinsey: Come on.
Caroline: Come on, honey.
Kinsey: Come with us. We're gonna have so much fun.
Caroline: You'll have fun.
Kinsey: Here we go.
Gabi: I just don't get what my sister's purse is doing at the nurse's station.
Will: Um, she might want it, you know, when she wakes up.
Gabi: Yeah, I-I'll give it to her when they let me in to see her. It's just I... I-I want to do something... for her.
Will: Hey, uh, actually, you know what? Why don't we--why don't we go for a walk... get some fresh air?
Gabi: Yeah, I guess I could use some coffee that hasn't been sitting for hours. What if--what if there's news about Arianna?
Will: Rafe is here. Won't he call you?
Gabi: Yeah. Yeah, let's go.
Rafe: Only family members are allowed in this room.
Rafe: What the hell are you trying to pull, EJ?
Walters: Okay, can you two please take it outside? And Mr. Hernandez is correct. Only family members are allowed in at this point.
EJ: Okay. I'll go.
Arianna: No. Stay. Please.
Nicole: All I can say is that Victor's been spending a lot of time at the mausoleum.
Nicole: Yeah. And Brady said he heard him talking to the casket.
Maggie: I've done that.
Nicole: To your husband? I'm sorry, Maggie. But Victor, he's--he's this man of steel, right? He'll snap out of it. He's got so much to live for.
Maggie: He adores his family.
Nicole: And to see all his boys there... I mean, maybe all--all he can think about is his daughter should be there too. And--and she's not. And she never will be. I don't know. You know, I don't even know what I'm talking about. Thank you for the cake, and, uh... I'm sorry to have bothered you.
Victor: You know, when I first found out that Brady had put you in there, I knew this was going to be complicated to deal with... but then so much fun.
Vivian: It's not going to be so much fun when Maggie finds out. And she will. You know she will, just like you did. So why don't we just take care of this whole thing and get me out of here?
Victor: Well, of course, you'll forget about the whole idea of revenge. It's so like you. The minute I open the lid, you'll go straight to Maggie and then to the cops.
Vivian: I can't go to the police. Bo wants to kill me. And if I implicate Brady, then you'll tell Bo about my plan to put Maggie in here, right?
Vivian: So I have as much to lose as you do and Brady and Nicole.
Victor: Is that your way of saying that you'll leave us alone and let Maggie and I live happily ever after?
Vivian: God, no. I'll just pretend to return from whatever little trip you told people I was on and move right back into my home and your life.
Victor: Vivian, do you really want to go back to living that farce that we had?
Vivian: Victor... I know I will never have your love, but I'll settle for the pleasure of your company... and no more flirtations with Maggie. That's over. And in return, I'll protect you... and Brady.
Victor: And we all know that your word is your bond.
Vivian: If I go against my word, you'll put me right back in here, won't you? That's the side of you Maggie doesn't know about. Besides, you'll never be happy with Maggie. That ended when Brady put me in the coffin and you kept his secret. So the best thing for all of us is if you just get me out of here.
Lexie: I mean, I-I deal with life and death all the time, but this one--it just... whew, it just--it just hit me all over again, how precious life is... how we should never take anything for granted. Abe, I-I don't know what I would do if anything ever happened to you or to Theo.
Abe: Hey, we are fine. We're here. We're not going anywhere. Hey, right, Theo?
Lexie: Right, right. Come here. Ugh. I love you so much. [Smooching] And I love you.
Lexie: And don't you ever, ever, ever forget it, okay?
Abe: Mm, we won't.
Lexie: We won't. [Laughs]
Rafe: Arianna, hey. It's so great to see those beautiful eyes again. Listen to me. You need to concentrate on getting better, not talking to EJ.
EJ: Look, it seems we have some kind of situation here, so what exactly do you want me to do?
Rafe: Well, I'll tell you what you can do. You can get the hell out of here.
Arianna: I don't feel right.
Walters: Okay, both of you, out of here now, please.
Rafe: No, don't talk. Listen to me, Ari. We're talking about your life here.
Walters: Okay, she's coding. She's coding! Get out of here!
Nicole: I'm telling you, Victor, I was brilliant. I told Maggie a sad story so that she would feel sorry for you.
Victor: Told her what sob story?
Nicole: I said all the Vivian-sarcophagus nonsense started you grieving about your daughter again.
Victor: Oh, well, that's, uh... that's true.
Nicole: I was pretty convincing, if I do say so myself. I left Maggie's house. And I saw her jump into her car and take off. I can only assume she's on her way to the mausoleum as we speak. And, uh, Vivian might get to witness a tender moment between you two lovebirds... which would make it even better, right?
Victor: I'll take it from here.
Nicole: You're welcome. Hello? [Scoffs] Jerk.
Kinsey: Miss DiMera?
Victor: I'm back.
Vivian: Did you think about what I said? [Laughing] I can't believe this. I'm locked in a coffin. And thanks to Maggie Horton, I have the upper hand. Oh. Was that you talking to her on the phone? I saw you on the phone.
Victor: You know, I hate to admit this, but you're right. I can't keep something like this from Maggie. She's much too bright.
Vivian: Does that mean you'll let me out?
Caroline: When you see Arianna, please tell her I offered communion for her, and I'm praying for her every day.
Gabi: Thank you. I will, Mrs. Brady.
Caroline: Well, I better go rescue Grandpa Roman. I hope Johnny and Allie haven't handcuffed him to a chair or something.
Will: See you later, Grandma. You ready for that coffee?
Gabi: Did you see all that yellow tape in the street?
Will: Yeah. The police put it up s-so they can figure out who hit her.
Gabi: I still can't believe it. I mean, somebody did that to her, and they didn't even stop to help her. They just... they just left her there. [Crying]
Walters: She's in cardiac arrest. You two get out of here now! You're in the way!
Nurse: You both have to go, now.
Victor: Maggie, what are you doing here?
Maggie: Oh, knock it off. You send Nicole DiMera to my house to get me worried about you. And you know what? It worked. So anyone who would send Nicole on a mission like that must have a screw loose.
Victor: Well, I see I can't put anything over on you, huh?
Maggie: I don't know about that. You managed to cover the fact that you're in so much pain about your daughter.
Vivian: Oh, please.
Victor: Did Nicole tell you that?
Vivian: Of course, she did. You probably gave her the idea yourself, you old rascal.
Maggie: You've been so kind to me about Mickey. I don't want you to--to be alone with this.
Victor: You said you didn't want to be involved in my life.
Maggie: I said I was your friend too.
Victor: Well, I did send Nicole over. I'm sorry I did.
Victor: 'Cause you're here now looking at me like this. And you were right. There's no way that this could work. I'd like you to go.
Maggie: Are you sure?
Victor: I'm sure. And don't ever come back.
Nicole: Hey, Sydney. Do you, uh... [Chuckles] You remember me? What are you doing up so late?
Kinsey: Well, uh, she and Johnny and Allie are staying with Mrs. Brady. And Sydney was kind of fussy, so I said I'd take her for a walk. I bought her a pumpkin.
Nicole: Wow. You have grown so much and even more beautiful.
Kinsey: Wow. The way she looks at you...
Kinsey: I think she misses you too.
EJ: How can you just stand there so calmly?
Rafe: Oh, believe me, I'm anything but calm.
EJ: Don't you want to know what's going on in that room?
Rafe: I know what is going on. They're trying to save my sister's life.
EJ: Well, this worked out pretty conveniently for you and Samantha, didn't it?
Rafe: You should really watch what you say to me right now.
EJ: You know, she called me this evening... Ari. She wanted to meet up. She said, uh, some proof as to who shot me. She said it was either Samantha or William. But... you already know that, don't you?
Rafe: I know nothing of the kind. What I do know is that you snuck into my sister's room, and you pumped her for information, and you can give a damn about how she feels.
EJ: I could--I'm the only person who does give a damn about how she feels. You're so busy trying to curry favor with Samantha, you've completely forgotten about her. Let me tell you something, if she dies in there, yeah... that's on you.
Vivian: That's right, Victor. Show her the door. She's better off without you. And I'm definitely better off without her.
Maggie: I'm not leaving you here, Victor. Let's go up to the house.
Victor: Then what? Get my hot water bottle and my lap robe?
Maggie: I'm not treating you like an old man. I am treating you like a grieving father.
Victor: You know the worst thing about losing Isabella... was that I was such a disappointment to her when she died.
Maggie: I'm sure she loved you.
Victor: A lot of good that did her. What I'm trying to say is that you don't have to worry about me. I'll miss Isabella, yes... but I'm just relieved that she's not around to see what I've done.
Maggie: What do you mean? What have you done?
Nicole: You think she misses me?
Kinsey: Of course, she does. You were Sydney's mother from the time she was born. And Sami's got, like, a zillion other kids, and she doesn't even take care of them. Her grandma has them most of the time, because Sami's too, like, fragile or something.
Nicole: Yeah, at least someone sees it my way.
Kinsey: Oh, hey, I wish we could hang out and talk, but, uh, I should probably be getting Sydney back.
Nicole: Sure. Just, uh, don't--don't mention you ran into me, okay?
Kinsey: Hey, you know what, Sydney? Yeah, if the weather's nice, I will take you back to this very same spot first thing tomorrow, okay? All right, wave bye-bye to mo-- I mean, Nicole.
Nicole: Can you wave bye-bye now, Sydney? [Chuckling]
Kinsey: Say bye-bye.
Kinsey: Say bye-bye. Come on. All right, bye.
Nicole: Bye. Bye-bye, Sydney. Sweet dreams, angel.
Gabi: [Sighs] When I heard about the accident, it was like--it was like my heart stopped beating.
Will: Yeah, that's how it was for me when I first heard that Sydney was missing. Yeah, but my sister is okay. Yours will be too.
Gabi: [Sighs] I'm gonna go, uh, wash my face with some cold water.
Will: Yeah, sure. Take your time.
Gabi: Oh... thanks for being such a good friend. I don't know how I'd make it without your help.
Will: [Sniffs, sighs] [Breathes deeply]
Rafe: Come on. Come on.
Rafe: Son of a bitch.
Lexie: Stop it!
EJ: Aah! [Grunts]
Lexie: God, what is wrong with the two of you? EJ, you've got a head injury, for God's sake.
Rafe: Arianna went into cardiac arrest.
Lexie: O-okay. And--and this is the way that you react--by trying to beat the crap out of each other?
Lexie: I'll go check on her. Keep an eye on them.
Security Guard: You heard what she said. Play nice.
EJ: If you're thinking of calling Samantha to warn her, it's not going to do you any good.
Rafe: I'm calling our mother, you jackass.
EJ: Let me tell you something about Arianna. She's a fighter. She's gonna make it. And when she does, she's gonna tell me what happened. And let me tell you something. Samantha or William... they're gonna get what's coming to them.
Nicole: Oh. I told myself this was for the best. You're not mine anymore, and you never will be. And the only thing I can do is-- [Sighs] Is keep on trucking and then... forget about your--your sweet cheeks and... and that beautiful smile. Ugh. But that is a crock. [Crying] How am I ever supposed to stop... loving her or--or forget about her? God.
Victor: You remember that night that you followed me and I had that face-to-face with Stefano?
Victor: The man that I was that night, you didn't like him.
Maggie: No, I didn't.
Vivian: But I do, Victor. But I do.
Victor: Isabella didn't like him either. I didn't like the look in Isabella's eyes when he showed up. And I don't like the look in your eyes either.
Maggie: Is that what's killing you now... the fact that you disappointed Isabella?
Victor: She could've seen some of the things that I've done.
Maggie: Don't you know that she'd love you anyway? She would. You can be as cold as ice... and there isn't a sentimental bone in that whole body of yours. But then there's that warm... and loving heart. That's what makes you so damn complicated.
Victor: How is it that you always know the right thing to say?
Vivian: [Crying] No! No.
Will: [Sniffs, sighs] Got to do it. Mom's counting on you. Crap, the camera's not even here. What did Arianna do with it?
Rafe: How is she?
Walters: I managed to stop the fibrillation.
Rafe: So she's gonna be all right?
Walters: I'm afraid the trauma to the chest has taken a toll on Arianna's lungs.
Rafe: But you can do something?
Walters: I could put her on life support, but I would never be able to wean her off of it. The end result would be the same as keeping her comfortable, not intervening. Arianna's lungs are so weak. We considered a transplant, but there's just too many complications.
Rafe: So then...?
Walters: It's just a matter of time.
Rafe: Oh, my God.
Walters: It was a sudden reversal. I know this is a shock. Arianna's a catholic. If you want to call a priest... this is the time. Uh, I'm very sorry.
Vivian: She's going to find out. I'll make sure of that.
On the next "Days of Our Lives" --
Gabi: Is there any news?
Rafe: Yeah, and it's not good.
EJ: She knew something that could help me get my children back, and I'm gonna find out what it is.
