Rafe: Hey. If you don't want to go in, just letting her know that it's not her responsibility.

Sami: Except for that it kind of is. All right, I will do it.

Lexie: Uh, Sami, uh, your-- your ring. I'm sorry.

Rafe: [Chuckles]

[Silenced gunshot]

EJ: I'm so happy to see you.

Nathan: Steph, it's me. Will you call me back? I need to see you. I think I screwed up pretty bad.

Stephanie: Me too.

Nathan: Hey. Steph, what's-- what's the matter? What's wrong? What happened?

Stephanie: I screwed up everything.

Daniel: I'm--I'm sorry. Did I miss something? I'm the one you need to talk to?

Kayla: Yes.

Daniel: About what?

Stephanie: I found out that Chloe had some sort of an affair with Philip apparently, a one-night fling, and the baby she's having is not Daniel's. It's Philip's.

Kayla: I need to talk to you about Chloe.

Chloe: Carly, what is it?

Carly: The man you slept with, was it Nathan?

Chloe: I-- why would you think that?

Carly: Maybe because I never really bought the "one-night stand with some random guy" story. I mean, you're more careful than that. And if you did know the man and cut him out immediately afterward...

Chloe: I did.

Carly: Then Nathan's hostility towards you would make perfect sense. So was it Nathan?

Chloe: Um, you know what, let's sit down, 'cause we need to deal with this right now.

Rafe: Test results on EJ?

Lexie: Yeah.

Rafe: So is he gonna make it?

Sami: You're happy to see me?

EJ: Of course, I'm happy to see you. I love you. You're my wife.

Chloe: I can't tell you how much it meant to me when you decided to help me get through this. When you agreed to not tell Daniel about my having been with someone else.

Carly: I think it was the right choice. No, I know, I know it was the right choice.

Chloe: I agree, absolutely. But another thing that I'm grateful for is the fact that you never pushed the issue about who that other man was.

Carly: Because at the time his identity seemed meaningless, Chloe.

Chloe: At the time?

Carly: But now I just think that who that man was is important.

Rafe: Lexie? You okay?

Lexie: Yeah, yeah, I-- all I can say is it's-- it's a miracle. I mean, everything's pointing to a full recovery.

Rafe: Hmm.

Lexie: Did you not hear what I said? Was that somehow bad news for you?

Rafe: No, don't get me wrong. It's not like I wanted EJ to die. It's just--

Lexie: Just what?

Rafe: It's just what kinda future does that mean for Sami? That's what. So EJ makes it, he's strong as ever, what's that mean for her? What's that mean for her kids?

EJ: You know... as soon as I can... get out of here... we're going on our honeymoon.

Sami: Honeymoon?

EJ: I think I owe you. As soon as I can travel.

Melanie: Bummer. Six houses, all bad.

Philip: Oh, they weren't all bad. They just weren't right for us.

Melanie: I know, but it's-- you know, it's not like we're looking for a bargain.

Philip: Mel, we'll find your dream house, I guarantee it.

Melanie: Hey, our dream house.

Philip: Our dream house.

Melanie: Yeah.

Philip: And it'll be perfect.

Melanie: Right. Ha, nothing's ever perfect.

Philip: Eh, you are. We are.

Nathan: Shh. Hey. Hey. Come on, what happened? Hmm? Shh, hey. Come on, tell me what happened.

Stephanie: I told you everything. I don't know what else there is to tell you.

Kayla: No, no, no. In the beginning you said that you thought that somebody switched the test results.

Stephanie: That's what's so weird. When we first looked at the results, it said that Daniel wasn't the father. Which means Philip was. But then when we went back into the database, it said that Daniel was the father.

Nathan: Come on, hey. It kills me to see you cry. Come on, tell me.

Stephanie: I-- I-- my mom and I had a fight.

Nathan: Okay. About what?

Stephanie: She-- she thinks-- she--she doesn't like the way I'm handling things.

Nathan: Well, what things?

Stephanie: She's just really disappointed in me.

Nathan: Oh. All right, I think I know what this is about.

Daniel: Oh, boy. I'm gonna hear it now, aren't I?

Kayla: I'm sorry?

Daniel: Lexie told you that Chloe and I are engaged and that she's pregnant, right? Look, I'm sorry, I'm the worst at emailing people.

Kayla: No. No, forget it. I mean, Steve and I are halfway around the world. We don't expect to be current.

Daniel: Well, that's true, true. Well, I'm glad things are going well for you, 'cause you, you know what, you deserve the best. Yeah.

Kayla: So do you, Daniel.

Daniel: Well, you know, believe it or not, I've got the best. I'm marrying Chloe. She's pregnant. Plus I have got my own daughter. I just found out.

Kayla: Right, Melanie, yes. That's right. Stephanie told me. Carly's the mother.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah. Carly's the-- why do I get the feeling that you don't like that part of it?

Chloe: I don't understand. If who the guy was didn't matter before, why does it matter now?

Carly: I took your word for it, you know, that this was no one special, that this person was totally out of your life and not connected to Daniel.

Chloe: He's not part of my life, okay? Or Daniel's.

Carly: Are you sure?

Chloe: Yes, I'm absolutely sure. And I can prove it.

Sami: EJ, how much do you remember about what happened?

EJ: Uh... Judge Fitzpatrick, I remember that. I told you that I love you. And--and you told me that you love--that you love me.

Sami: And?

EJ: Then we exchanged our vows.

[Machinery beeping faster]

EJ: And then something happened.

Sami: EJ? Hey, hey, calm down. EJ, what is it?

EJ: Tell me what happened. What happened? Who did--who did this to-- who did this to me? Who did this to me, Samantha? Who did this to me? Samantha, tell me.

Melanie: Does it get any better than this?

Philip: I can't see how.

[Cell phone rings]

Melanie: Do you send out a signal?

Philip: Hmm?

Melanie: Well, we always have time to make love, but then when we get to lay with each other, you always get a text message or an email saying you have to go to a meeting.

Philip: I'm sorry. I told the realtor to keep looking for the dream home my wife wants. Look at this, she found something. Here's a pic. It's two blocks from Maggie's. You interested? Well, you can go check it out. It might be perfect.

Melanie: I already know it is. It's perfect, thank you.

Philip: [Chuckles]

Nathan: Yeah, you and your mom were fighting about me, right?

Stephanie: What?

Nathan: Well, she's obviously pissed off because I moved in with her little girl, which--

Stephanie: No, she's actually okay with us living together, although she's concerned about the way I feel about you.

Nathan: Oh, damn it, look, let's do this together. Let's find her, let's lay it all out. I am absolutely crazy about you, okay? And she needs to understand that I would never do anything to hurt you, ever, all right?

Stephanie: Wait, wait. Nathan, that's not what it's about. It's not about you. It's between my mom and me. Okay, things got said, stupid things, by me, of course. And that's what I meant when I said that I screwed up, and now I have to go deal with this on my own.

Nathan: Okay. Well, what happened?

Stephanie: It's--it's too hard to explain. Just my mom wants me to be a certain person, and maybe she's right. It's just hard sometimes, you know?

Nathan: Sure.

Stephanie: But I'll take care of it. I'll--I'll go and find her and I'll--I'll fix it.

Nathan: Uh, you don't sound too confident about that.

Stephanie: I'll be okay.

Nathan: All right. Well, if you need me...

Stephanie: I do need you. I always need you, even if I don't deserve you.

Nathan: Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa. That doesn't make any sense. Come on, don't think like that. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. Okay? And if you need anything, you let me know. If you need me to go talk to your mom, I'll do it right now.

Stephanie: I'll take care of it.

Nathan: All right.

Stephanie: I love you. I'll call.

Kayla: Let's face it. The name "Carly Manning" doesn't really make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. She is the one who broke up Bo and Hope's marriage, remember?

Daniel: Well, that's not quite how I understand it. I mean, I'm not saying Carly has a spotless rep, but one thing I do know is she has given me an amazing daughter.

Kayla: An amazing grown daughter. And from what I understand, she didn't exactly have a stellar childhood, thanks to Carly.

Daniel: Kayla, she thought she was protecting Melanie's life by giving her away, not to mention my life. Lawrence Alemain, he's a cruel man. But the important thing is, Mel and I, we found each other.

Kayla: So you love being a dad?

Daniel: Oh, my God, it's-- yeah, it's the best.

Kayla: Well, good for you. I'm sure you'll be a great one.

Daniel: And twice over. Chloe's pregnant, don't forget.

Kayla: Yeah.

Daniel: Okay, now what? What? Kayla, what is on your mind?

Chloe: See what I mean?

Carly: No, not really.

Chloe: It came in the mail today. It's a permit to hold our wedding in the park next week.

Carly: Chloe, you're missing the point.

Chloe: The point is if that guy I made one bad decision with was important to me, do you think I'd be marrying Daniel out in the open for the whole world to see?

Carly: Well, I--

Chloe: No, I wouldn't, and that's exactly what I'm doing. Because the one man, the only man who means the world to me, is Daniel. And when we're exchanging our vows, the last thing I want to think about is that one stupid night. I don't want to look back anymore, Carly, ever. And I need you to help me with that.

Lexie: Okay, now you should rest, do you understand? I gave you a mild sedative.

EJ: I want to finish talking to Samantha.

Lexie: EJ, listen to me, your blood pressure was sky high.

EJ: I don't care.

Lexie: Well, I do.

EJ: I'm gonna finish talking to Samantha.

Lexie: No, no, no, shh.

EJ: I want to finish talking to Samantha. You get her in here now, Lexie. You get her in here.

Lexie: Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.

Sami: And he actually thinks that I am married to him. Oh, for the love of God, I mean, I don't even know what happened. I don't know if maybe that bullet, like, damaged some part of his memory. I don't even know if he knows he was shot.

Rafe: So what are you gonna do?

Sami: I don't know. But I'm telling you what I'm not doing, I'm not going in there and pretending that I am married to EJ.

Lexie: Sami, you're going to have to... if you want to keep EJ alive.

Melanie: This is so great. Maybe I'll cancel coffee with my mom.

Philip: Nah, no, no, no, no. Don't do that.

Melanie: Won't you get lonely without me?

Philip: Yes, but I'll survive. Now go--go see your mom. We can have other afternoons like this anytime we want.

Melanie: Yeah. Count on it.

Carly: I'm not sure how I can help you with that, Chloe.

Chloe: Well, don't you see? Looking back or thinking about what I did is the worst thing in the world for me and for you.

Carly: Me?

Chloe: Yeah, sure, because if I tell you who I cheated on Daniel with, then every time you see me that's the only thing you're gonna think about. But if we just--if we drop this right now and let it stay buried, the only thing that'll ever be important is how happy Daniel and I are. That's all I want. And I know that's what you want too. So please, will you help me with that?

Daniel: Kayla, you have some kind of a problem with Chloe?

Kayla: Look, I'm--I'm sure that you're in love with her.

Daniel: Yeah. I never thought I'd find anyone after Rebecca died. But I have. She makes me so happy, I literally wake up in the morning sometimes just smiling.

Kayla: It's hard to beat that.

Daniel: Yeah, and on top of that, I have a brand-new daughter who is smart and sweet, and she will be a better nurse than I ever will be a doctor.

Kayla: Oh, hoo, hoo, wait a minute there, Papa. You're just about the best I ever saw.

Daniel: Ah, how soon we forget.

Kayla: What?

Daniel: What, you don't remember the first surgery I performed for you here in Salem? Not Bo, but--

Kayla: Oh, that little-- the chart thing.

Daniel: Yeah, the little chart thing, yeah. Where the doctor scribbled "appendicitis," I thought it was "amputation."

Kayla: Well, at least you didn't lop off the lady's arm.

Daniel: No, but I made a complete idiot out of myself. Storming into the E.R. yelling, "I will not allow this. She has perfectly good limbs."

Kayla: Well, it was good for a few laughs, right?

Daniel: Yeah.

Kayla: And look, the lady was fine, you know, minus an appendix, of course. Hospitals make mistakes. Even the best-run places make errors, need correcting.

Lexie: Sami, EJ can make a full recovery, but only if he stays calm. No shocks, no episodes, no sudden elevated blood pressure.

Sami: Meaning I have to go along with everything that he says? Lexie--great. No, no, this is just--

Rafe: No, no, hold on. So you're saying that a spike in his blood pressure could cause a real setback?

Lexie: Yeah, yeah. I mean, more than just a setback, Rafe.

Sami: So is he ever gonna remember?

Lexie: That I can't say. I mean, some patients never recover the memory of what happened or even what led up to it, and some eventually remember everything in acute detail, I mean, even--even having dreams about it.

Rafe: Hold on, what you're telling me is he may never remember anything--that I broke up the wedding, that he kidnapped Sydney?

Lexie: Rafe, all I can say is that right now there's no way to know what is going on inside EJ's head.

Rafe: I just don't see why Sami has to torture herself pretending to be his wife. She's engaged to me.

Lexie: Because I'm afraid if we tell him that, he could stroke out, Rafe. He could die. Telling EJ the truth right now, it's the same as murder.

Sami: Hey.

EJ: Hey. I'm sorry about earlier. Didn't hurt your wrist, did I?

Sami: Oh, I'm tough. I can take it.

EJ: I don't understand. Suddenly I started seeing spots. Lexie avoids the question, but... I know I was shot.

Sami: Hey, you don't worry about that right now, okay? You're fine, and you're gonna get better.

EJ: Shot in the head.

Sami: Yeah, and you really can't think about that right now, okay? Just--just rest, and when you're better we can talk about everything, okay?

EJ: Okay. Thank you. I love you. I'm tired.

Sami: Of course, you are.

EJ: Would you do me a favor?

Sami: Sure.

EJ: Just sit with me while I fall asleep, please.

Sami: Yeah.

EJ: Okay?

Sami: What?

EJ: Where's--where's-- where's your wedding ring?

Nathan: Melanie, I love you.

Carly: You're right. You're right, let's just drop it. I mean, you're happy, Daniel's happy, and that's all that matters.

Chloe: I just--I just want to concentrate on my future, you know?

Carly: Absolutely. Got a wedding coming up, and the birth of your baby.

Chloe: Wow. Just got butterflies when you said that.

Carly: Are you sure it wasn't the baby kicking?

Chloe: No, not this time. I think it was hearing a really great friend telling me I actually have a good future ahead of me.

Carly: You do. And I want that for you and Daniel more than anything.

Chloe: Thank you.

Daniel: Uh, no, no, we'd better wait until I can check on his chart. I'll be there in a few. Thanks. I gotta go.

Kayla: Um, I understand.

Daniel: Well, you know, it was great to see you.

Kayla: You too.

Daniel: All right. Hey, are you gonna still be in town next week?

Kayla: Um, I'm not sure yet.

Daniel: Well, if you are, come to the wedding. It's gonna be in the park and, oh.

Kayla: Thank you. If I am here, I'll be sure to come.

Daniel: Okay, well, no matter what, don't leave without saying good-bye, okay?

Kayla: Okay.

Daniel: All right.

Kayla: I'm glad everything's working out for you, Daniel.

Daniel: Me too. For the first time in my life. All right, see ya.

Kayla: Ugh.

Sami: EJ.

EJ: Samantha. Why would you ever take it off?

Sami: Hey, hey, just take it easy, okay?

EJ: What's going on? Did I do something wrong?

Sami: No. Okay, calm down, okay? You haven't done anything wrong. I took the rings off 'cause I was giving Sydney a bath.

EJ: When?

Sami: I didn't want it to get all messy, and I didn't want it to go down the drain.

EJ: When were you doing that?

Sami: I don't know. Honestly, I can't even remember. The days are all mixed together. I got the call right afterwards to come here because you were in the hospital. EJ, I haven't even been home since then. It's not important, okay? Stop worrying.

EJ: Okay. You're right. It's not important. I'm sorry that I put you through all this.

Sami: Why don't you just focus on getting better, okay? That's all you have to worry about.

EJ: Okay. How's Johnny? Sydney? How are they doing?

Sami: They're great.

EJ: Good. I miss them.

Sami: They miss you. Johnny is doing his impression of Daddy, asking about you all the time.

EJ: He is?

Sami: Yeah.

EJ: Little tiger.

Sami: [Chuckles]

EJ: Bring them in to see me. You can do that, can't you?

Sami: Well, EJ--

EJ: Please, bring them in now.

Stephanie: Hey.

Kayla: Hi. You okay?

Stephanie: Yeah. I'm sorry I ran out. Just when I get too stressed sometimes--

Kayla: I know, you run. I'm your mom. I think I've seen it a few times.

Stephanie: So you're not mad at me?

Kayla: I was never mad at you. I really was just concerned.

Stephanie: And you should have been, because you were right. I was wrong. Daniel should know he's not the father.

Kayla: I just saw Daniel.

Stephanie: Oh, my God. Did you tell him?

Kayla: No. No, but we were talking and it got me thinking that we need to make sure that someone did change the test results.

Stephanie: Mom, I saw it. One time it said negative. The next time it said positive. Someone went in there and changed it so Chloe would think Daniel was the father.

Kayla: Not necessarily.

Philip: Yeah, that's right. Whatever they're asking, put in a bid. Do it now. Look, my wife says the house is perfect, so it's perfect. We're gonna buy it. Good, call me.

Chloe: Hey, are you buying a house?

Philip: Hope so. Two blocks from Maggie's actually.

Chloe: Wow, that's great. That's a really nice neighborhood. Daniel and I should probably start looking ourselves. After this baby's born, that apartment's gonna seem awfully small.

Philip: Well, if I know Daniel, he'll buy you the biggest and the best.

Chloe: Oh, by the way, our park permit came through. So the wedding's next week.

Philip: Oh, that's great. Melanie and I will definitely be there.

Chloe: You know, I'm really so glad that everything's worked out.

Philip: Carly's still on board, right?

Chloe: Oh, yeah. She said as long as Daniel and I are happy...

Philip: She doesn't know who you slept with? Chloe. Chloe, tell me she doesn't know.

Nathan: Hey. You okay?

Melanie: Yeah, I'm fine. I'm always fine. I'm good, I'm excited. Philip and I are gonna buy a house.

Nathan: That's great. Big step.

Melanie: Yeah, well, you know, when you're happily married, why not buy a big house?

Nathan: Why not?

Melanie: It's really close to Maggie.

Nathan: Even better. Now you can see her whenever you want.

Melanie: Right.

Nathan: Well, I hope everything works out for you.

Melanie: It will. It--thank you.

Nathan: Great.

Carly: Hi.

Nathan: Hey, Dr. Manning, how's it going?

Carly: Uh, fine, good. Hi, sweetheart.

Nathan: See you guys later.

Melanie: Okay.

Carly: Um... you okay?

Melanie: Yeah. Yeah, no, I'm fine. I'm great, I'm good.

Carly: That was kind of an overreaction.

Melanie: Uh... um, yeah, no. Is this, like, a mother/daughter thing? Can you read my mind or something?

Carly: No, not quite. It's just that it's obvious something was going on between the two of you.

Melanie: Did you see that too?

Carly: What do you mean "too"?

Melanie: I walked in and Nathan was talking in his sleep. He said he loved me.

Sami: And then he said that he wants to see Johnny and Sydney today, like now.

Rafe: Yeah, well, maybe he doesn't get everything that he wants. How's that?

Lexie: How emphatic was he about seeing the children?

Sami: Very. But don't tell me that I have to do everything that he says or he's gonna die. Come on, Lexie.

Lexie: Sami, I--

Sami: Lexie-- why don't you just give him a sedative or something?

Lexie: I can't with a head injury. Most drugs inhibit brain activity. We can't allow that just now.

Sami: 'Cause it gets worse.

Rafe: What?

Sami: Yeah, he noticed I wasn't wearing his wedding rings.

Rafe: Oh, great.

Sami: Yeah, he wanted to know where they were. I mean, I threw them at him.

Rafe: Forget about it.

Lexie: No, no, no. I can call the servants. I can have them try to find them.

Sami: Lexie, how long is this gonna go on? I mean, there's only so much role playing I'm prepared to do here.

Lexie: Okay, okay, just for another day or two, all right? Look, I'll find the bands somehow, all right? Just--just humor him, Sami, just--just for a few more days, please.

Sami: Lexie, come on.

[Cell phone rings]

Lexie: I've got to go. Sami, please. Please.

Sami: It's like a nightmare, and it won't stop. I can't wake myself up from it.

Rafe: We're gonna get through this, right?

Sami: Rafe, I just-- every time I pretend like I'm married to EJ, it makes me feel like I'm betraying you.

Rafe: Hey, hey, hey. I can handle this if you can. All right? What about bringing the kids into this whole thing?

Sami: I know. I don't want to, but I-- I don't think we have a choice.

Rafe: Yeah.

Sami: You know, maybe we could just do it together.

Rafe: Okay. Whatever you say.

Sami: Let's go get 'em, okay?

Lexie: Ooh, Sami, uh, Mary found these a couple of hours ago. She had them--hi, Johnny-- driven over. Hi, baby.

Johnny: Hi.

Lexie: Hi. Thank you. Thank you so much.

Sami: Yeah. All right, come on, let's go say hi to Daddy. Hold my hand. Hold my hand, Johnny. Oh! [Whispers]

Kayla: Hospitals make mistakes. But most of the time, they're caught and they are reversed before anybody even knows about it.

Stephanie: Okay, yeah, but the results were posted. I mean, it's not like they screwed up the test. I mean, someone deliberately went in there and changed the results from negative to positive.

Kayla: Well, I'm not saying that didn't happen. I'm just saying that this is a possibility, okay?

Stephanie: Okay.

Kayla: Okay, so let's just say the test is done. The result is spit out by the software program. A lab technician, he types it in. Then the software shoots out an alert and a technician checks it and sees that the wrong result was posted. So he changes it. So one day Daniel isn't the father, and then the next day he is.

Stephanie: But all along--

Kayla: But the facts never change. Just the posting on the computer.

Stephanie: So no one really--

Kayla: There's no conspiracy. There's no mystery computer hacker. There's nobody playing God with Daniel and Chloe's life. It was just a mistake that was fixed.

Stephanie: So Philip's not the father? Daniel is?

Kayla: Maybe so. So I think the best thing we can do--you and everyone else--is to not say anything.

Carly: Are you sure you didn't hear him incorrectly? I mean, he wasn't mumbling or anything?

Melanie: No, it was clear as a bell. "I love you, Melanie."

Carly: Oh. And?

Melanie: That's it. Just "I love you--"

Carly: No, no, honey, honey, how did that make you feel?

Melanie: Oh, oh. [Chuckles] Uh, well, it made my heart jump a little bit. But it's silly. It's silly. I'm Mrs. Kiriakis. I love Philip. I don't love Nathan.

Carly: Are you sure about that?

Daniel: Hey, man.

Rafe: Hey, EJ's awake.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I heard from Lexie. We may be looking at a full recovery here.

Rafe: Yeah, thanks to you and Carly.

Daniel: A doctor's job is to save lives, Rafe.

Rafe: Yep. And my job is to make sure a kidnapper gets what's coming to him.

Sami: I'm sorry she fell asleep so quickly. I knew she was tired but--

EJ: It's okay. I got to see her for a second. Hey, kiddo. I missed you.

Johnny: I missed you too, Daddy.

EJ: See, Daddy--he got a bit of a boo-boo on his head. Just a little one.

Sami: Yeah, but you know what? He feels so much better 'cause he gets to spend time with you and your sister, and you're helping him feel better.

EJ: Thank you.

Sami: I'm just glad that this is helping. You want to see it? Come here, yeah, go see Dada.

EJ: Hey.

Johnny: When are you coming home, Daddy?

EJ: Oh, good question. I'm coming home really, really soon. And we are all going to be a family really, really soon.

Melanie: Yeah, absolu-- are you kidding? Yes, Philip and I are--we're great. We're building a life together. We, uh, we got a house.

Carly: You found one?

Melanie: Mm-hmm. It's perfect.

Carly: Good, good. So about Nathan--

Melanie: We--we don't even need to say his name. Yeah, I'm over him. I'm over him, and he needs to move on, if you know what I'm saying.

Carly: I do. 'Cause I--the guy, frankly, I don't think he, um--

Melanie: He?

Carly: He's got issues, I think. Marrying Philip was the right choice.

Philip: Chloe, stop telling me how you fixed everything. Either Carly knows who you slept with or she doesn't.

Chloe: Will you let me finish, okay? Look, I don't know how she got this in her head, but she thinks it was Nathan.

Philip: What?

Chloe: Yeah, but the important thing is I got her to back off. I convinced her that if she knew who the guy was that she'd never be able to let it go.

Philip: That's true, she's a damn pit bull.

Chloe: So I didn't deny that it was Nathan, but I didn't say it was either. I figured if I start ruling out this guy and that guy, eventually she's gonna narrow it down, and we'd be stuck.

Philip: Right. Smart.

Chloe: Yeah, so by the time she left, I had her agreeing that who the guy was isn't important. What is important is that Daniel and I are happy.

Philip: So you're sure?

Chloe: Yes, trust me. She's never gonna know that it was you.

Stephanie: Oh, my God. That makes so much sense. So someone in the lab screwed up and just fixed it. So Daniel's the father. That's great.

Kayla: Well, maybe.

Stephanie: What?

Kayla: I mean, it's just a theory. It's probable, but that's all it is. We need to make sure that it was just an innocent mistake.

Stephanie: How?

Kayla: I think I know the way.

Rafe: Well, anything's possible when you go to court with a DiMera. They can dress the devil up to look like Santa Claus.

Daniel: Rafe, how ugly are you willing to make this?

Rafe: As ugly as it takes. See, I want to protect Sami and her kids no matter what.

Sami: All right, Johnny, I think we need to give your daddy a chance to rest, okay? Let's get home.

EJ: Thank you for coming. I feel much better after seeing you. Hey, kiddo, tell me something. Is it lonely in that big house without me?

Johnny: No.

EJ: Really? Why's that?

Johnny: Because we don't live there anymore. We live with Mommy and Rafe now.

On the next "Days of Our Lives" --
