Philip: Hey.

Justin: Philip.

Daniel: Hey, Philip. Melanie said you were coming back today.

Philip: I just got back from the airport. I can't believe this.

Justin: None of us can.

Philip: Hope? Give me a break. None of this would have happened if it hadn't been for that medication.

[Cell phone rings]

Daniel: Well, you know--

Philip: Excuse me. I have to take this. Hey.

Chloe: When did you get back?

Philip: Just now.

Chloe: I have to talk to you. I have news about the baby.

Stephanie: Hey.

Adrienne: Hey.

Stephanie: You busy?

Adrienne: Not when my favorite niece has that worried look on her face.

Stephanie: Oh, well, I just can't believe this about aunt hope.

Adrienne: No one can.

Stephanie: Uncle Justin told me you're the one who started figuring it out.

Adrienne: I know a little bit about women on the edge. Am I looking at one?

Stephanie: No, no. I, um--I came by to tell you that I'm gonna get over myself. So Nathan kept a picture of him and Melanie. Big whoop.

Adrienne: All right, now we're talking.

Stephanie: Yeah, I mean, I'm the one he keeps in his life.

Adrienne: That's right.

Stephanie: I'm the one he loves.

Nathan: She just always seemed like one of those kind of people that can handle anything.

Maggie: Well, hope is-- she was very good at looking like one of those people.

[Cell phone rings]

Maggie: Oh, excuse me. Hello? What? Oh, it hasn't come? Okay, hold on. I'll get my invoice. Uh, can you excuse me a minute? Chez rouge opens in two hours for dinner and the meat delivery hasn't arrived yet.

Nathan: Oh, lovely.

Maggie: Great. Wonderful.

[Door opens]

Melanie: Nathan.

EJ: That was very clever of you. Wake me up when no one else is around. Hmm? All right, then. Come on. Do you remember the dog? Yes. And the flowers? No? No? [Sighs] You know I look at you sometimes? [Sighs] There's not a part of you that'd attest for what I did to your mother. I'm gonna spend the rest of my life making it up to her. You know that, don't you? Hey. If there is a part, maybe you'll be able to forget about it altogether. Okay? You're very lucky if you do. [Heavy breathing]

Philip: Now's not a good time.

Chloe: Where are you?

Philip: The hospital.

Chloe: Why?

Philip: Well, after I heard about hope, I wanted to talk to Justin. He's here with Daniel.

Chloe: Oh, God.

Philip: Is everything all right?

Chloe: A lot has happened since you were gone. I just need to talk to you. Um, can you meet me at the pier?

Philip: In public?

Chloe: It's better than sneaking around.

Philip: [Sighs] I'll be there as soon as I can. [Sighs] Sorry about that.

Daniel: No worries. Did you get bad news or something? You don't look so hot.

[Knock on door]

Nicole: Hey.

Chloe: Hey. I was just getting ready to leave.

Nicole: Yeah, could you wait a little while? I need a friend and I think you're the only one I have left.

Adrienne: You just said Nathan gave up a fellowship to stay here in Salem with you? And miss Melanie's happily married?

Stephanie: Right. That's why I'm gonna stop doing this to myself.

Adrienne: Oh.

[Laughter]

Adrienne: How about a glass of wine to celebrate? On the house.

Stephanie: I wish. I'm sorry. I have to pass by Maggie's really quick and drop off some stuff. They're doing another fundraiser for the hospital at chez rouge.

Adrienne: Oh, great.

Stephanie: I love you.

Adrienne: Oh, sweetheart.

Stephanie: Give me a kiss.

Adrienne: Mwah. Right back at you, kid. Right back at you.

Melanie: You look like hell.

Nathan: Yeah, thanks. I didn't sleep a whole lot last night.

Melanie: Hope, right?

Nathan: Yeah. She and my mom were like sisters and what's gonna happen to her now?

Melanie: I don't--

Sami: Why'd you do that?

Rafe: Was a mistake. You should go.

Sami: Right. Wait, wait, wait. Wait. I don't want to-- [Heavy breathing] What are you doing?

Rafe: Nothing.

Chloe: You and Brady?

Chloe: No.

Chloe: Look, Nicole, I would love to stay and listen.

Nicole: God knows I've done it for you, Chloe.

Chloe: I know, but I have to go.

Nicole: Where?

Chloe: The hairdresser.

Nicole: Wow. So your split ends are more important than my life?

Chloe: No, no. It's just that Daniel and I have opera tickets and--

Nicole: Okay, yeah, so-- so that is more important than me. Thank you.

Chloe: No. Look, why don't you just-- you stay here, make yourself a cup of tea. I'm just gonna run to this--

Nicole: I have lost Brady for good this time.

Chloe: What?

Nicole: You didn't even know I had him, did you? But I did. I did. For a few hours and then I blew it sky-high. My whole life. But you know what? You go take care of yourself. Go make yourself look beautiful.

Chloe: No, what happened with you and Brady?

Nicole: I told you. I blew it. And it was one time too many. Chloe, he's the only man I ever really loved.

Chloe: So there's no chance?

Nicole: No, this-- this is pretty much rock bottom.

Chloe: Look, honey, I am so sorry, but--

Nicole: It's okay.

Chloe: You know what? Just--

Nicole: It's okay, Chloe.

Chloe: You can meet me somewhere.

Nicole: Please go make yourself look beautiful for Daniel. All right, I will take care of my life, what's left of it, anyway, like I always do. Alone.

Chloe: [Scoffs] Come on, Nicole.

[Door closes]

[Heavy breathing]

Rafe: Oh, we can't do this.

Sami: You're right. It's definitely wrong.

Rafe: It's been a long time. This place is dirty... and 15 agents could be pounding on the door.

Sami: I think a tornado could hit and I wouldn't notice.

Rafe: And you are... engaged to EJ.

Sami: [Sighs] You knew that when you kissed me.

Rafe: Doesn't mean I don't love you... or want you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Look, I apologize, okay? I'm sorry.

Sami: You apologize? You can shove your apology. If you love me, then stop me from marrying him.

Rafe: Stop you? What, I'm supposed to stop you? Get in the way of true love? That's what it is, isn't it?

Sami: God, how did you even find out? I mean, we weren't supposed to tell anybody.

Rafe: Well, it certainly wasn't from you, even when I asked you what was going on between the two of you.

Sami: Well, right, because we had said we weren't going to say anything.

Rafe: So why don't you want anyone to know? Why?

Sami: You know what? You don't deserve an answer. Not anymore.

Rafe: Well, you're right... and when you're right, you're right. You gonna tell him about what almost happened today? I didn't think so.

Sami: Is EJ the one who told you? Did he tell you that he proposed?

Rafe: Why don't you ask him?

Sami: I will. You bet I will.

Melanie: I'm really sorry, Nathan.

Nathan: Hope just seemed like one of those people in your life that you can always count on, you know?

Melanie: Yeah, I'm kind of starting to realize how much those people mean.

Nathan: I'm making this all about me, aren't I?

Melanie: No, no, no, no. Just something really bad happened to you and you're telling a friend how you feel. It's okay.

Yummy, yummy, yummy, I got love in my tummy

Philip: I'm telling you, I'm fine.

Daniel: You don't look fine. Was that Melanie? Did something happen?

Philip: My brother's wife tried to kill him. That's what's wrong. I have to go, okay? Keep me in the loop, okay?

Justin: I will.

Daniel: How's Victor reacting to all this?

Justin: Oh, he has a very sensitive and nuanced take on the whole thing, as you can imagine.

Daniel: All Carly's fault, right?

Justin: Yeah, pretty much.

Daniel: Yeah. How about you? You and hope were pretty close.

Justin: Yeah, we were. I spoke with her earlier.

Daniel: Yeah?

Justin: [Chuckles] It's, um-- there are really no words.

Daniel: Well, I'm--

Justin: Well, how about you? How are things with you and Chloe?

Daniel: Well, we had some rough spots, but right now, couldn't be better. Yeah.

Maggie: Oh. Am I interrupting?

Nathan: No, not at all.

Melanie: Maggie, hi. How are you...doing?

Maggie: Oh, well, I'm of the look-on-the-bright-side persuasion.

Nathan: What bright side is that?

Maggie: Well, it's out in the open, so that means it's over with. No one was permanently injured. Hope is gonna have to make restitution for what she did, of course, but she'll get help too.

Melanie: Well, you know where I live if you need me.

Maggie: I sure do.

Melanie: Um, take care of yourself.

Nathan: I'll do my best.

Maggie: Hmm. Your purse.

Melanie: Oh. Ahem.

Nathan: [Sighs]

Maggie: All right, mister. What's going on between you and Melanie?

Chloe: Philip, hey. I'm sorry I'm late. I just got a little held up.

Philip: It's okay. It's okay.

Chloe: Daniel didn't know you were talking to me, right?

Philip: I mean, he could tell I was upset, but God knows I have a reason to be and it doesn't have anything to do with you, so.

Chloe: You're right. I'm sorry.

Philip: Just tell me what's going on.

Chloe: Well, I got the test. You know, the paternity test, and Carly says it'll take a few days to get the results and then we'll know.

Philip: Okay, okay. You know, I meant what I said before, Chloe. If the baby's mine, I'll-- I'll take care of you guys. I'll set you up.

Chloe: I know you will. Thank you. Thing is, even if this is Daniel's baby, I could still lose him. Either way, this could still blow up in both our faces.

Adrienne: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, honey, what happened?

Stephanie: I went to Maggie's, like I said, and guess what I saw? Nathan in Maggie's kitchen with his arms around Melanie.

Adrienne: Okay, honey, honey, honey. Nathan is Maggie's grandson. I'm sure there was a reason for him to be there.

Stephanie: Yeah, sure there is, but it isn't Maggie. And I thought I was a needy, jealous wreck because of a stupid picture he kept--

Adrienne: Now just hold on. You don't know what was--

Stephanie: I should have known the night I saw Philip and he was loaded.

Adrienne: What has this got to do with Philip?

Stephanie: I asked Philip what was wrong and he said it wasn't Melanie. It was him. He's blown it with Melanie, just like he screws up everything in his life and now Melanie is running to my boyfriend for comfort.

Adrienne: Now I think you're putting way too many things together, sweetheart.

Stephanie: I don't. I mean, you said you saw Philip at Daniel and Chloe's apartment.

Adrienne: Yeah.

Stephanie: And he was acting weird.

Adrienne: Well, nervous like he'd broken in or something. But they must have told him where they hid the spare key.

Stephanie: And he said he was getting something for Chloe?

Adrienne: I think he said it was a watch that she wanted to give to Daniel.

Stephanie: But he was acting guilty, right?

Adrienne: I mean, stop! You haven't told me why we're talking about Philip.

Stephanie: Melanie wasn't sure about Philip the day she married him. Okay, I know for a fact she wasn't sure if she had chosen the right guy. And as for Philip, he is as cool as they come until he's done something really awful.

Adrienne: Got any idea what that awful thing might be?

Stephanie: Not yet, but I know it has to do with Chloe. If Melanie's marriage falls apart, I am gonna lose Nathan for sure.

Nathan: What you saw was just two friends reaching out to one another.

Maggie: You and that friend have a very complicated history.

Nathan: Oh. Okay, look, yes. Yes, Melanie will always be special to me. I mean, she was the first woman I ever really loved. But I'm with Stephanie now and I love her.

Maggie: Okay. I can see that you mean that. Thank goodness. I mean, you are so dear to me and so is Melanie. I'd hate to have to beat the tar out of the both of you.

Nathan: Come on.

Maggie: Boom.

Nathan: All right, well, put your boxing gloves away, Ali. Look... even if I wasn't with Stephanie, Melanie is happily married to Philip.

EJ: How much do I love you? That much. That much. Good girl.

Sami: EJ. We need to talk.

Rafe: Cold beer. Keep 'em coming.

Waiter: You got it.

Nicole: You too, huh? Buy a girl a drink?

Philip: Look, if Daniel's the baby's father, why would you lose him?

Chloe: Because our incredible string of bad luck hasn't ended.

Philip: What are you talking about?

Chloe: Well, Carly arranged for me to have the test at another hospital so Daniel wouldn't find out.

Philip: Okay?

Chloe: But what Carly and I didn't know was that Daniel had a consultation at that same hospital the same morning.

Philip: You're kidding me.

Chloe: Oh, yeah, it gets even better. He brought Melanie with him.

Philip: Oh, my God.

Chloe: And they ran into Carly and Daniel almost saw me in that hospital room.

Philip: But he didn't, right?

Chloe: No, thankfully Carly made up this story about me being a patient of hers who was an immigrant from the middle east and that's why he couldn't see me.

Philip: What? They bought that?

Chloe: Yeah, so far, but now Daniel has a patient at that hospital and he could find out I had that test.

Philip: Give me the name of the hospital.

Chloe: What good is that gonna do?

Philip: Look, I will make sure those results stay confidential. I'll take care of everything. Don't worry about it.

Stephanie: Well, well. What do we have here? Together again? was a good idea.

Nathan: Oh, hey.

Maggie: Well, I think this was a good idea. I needed to get out of the house.

Nathan: Yeah.

Caroline: Well, hi. Hi, Nathan.

Nathan: Oh, hey.

Caroline: Good to see you.

Nathan: How are you?

Caroline: I'm fine. Maggie.

Maggie: Caroline. I heard about hope. I can't believe it.

Caroline: No, neither can I. I've known hope all her life.

Maggie: Well, if there's anything I can do to help--

Caroline: No. No, there isn't. I'll get you some menus.

Nathan: Whoa.

Maggie: Thanks.

Nathan: So, uh... what was that all about?

Maggie: Well, for reasons I really don't understand, Victor and I have become friends. And we were together in my kitchen when he got the phone call about Bo. I went to the hospital with him. Obviously, Caroline thinks I was intruding.

Nathan: So you and Victor are friends?

Maggie: Yes.

Nathan: Didn't he just get married?

Maggie: And what are you getting at?

Nathan: Oh, nothing. Nothing serious. I'm, uh-- I'm just thinking maybe I'm not the only one that has some explaining to do.

Daniel: Ah, hey, sweetheart. Hi.

Melanie: Come in.

Daniel: You know, thank you for taking the time.

Melanie: Well, I did have quite a busy schedule.

Daniel: You know, look, I think you and I should look after your mom. She's having a tough time.

Melanie: She blames herself for what hope did.

Daniel: Well, guilt is sort of second nature to her.

Melanie: Yeah, well, we all have each other's back, which is kind of a miracle, really.

Daniel: Yes, it absolutely is. Yeah. Just wish that miracle would have come about a different way. You know, Carly, she wanted something from Lauren she was never going to get. It took her too long to realize that.

Melanie: You can't change the past.

Daniel: No. No, you can't, but you certainly can learn from it. Now I don't think it's ever good for two people to stay together when one of them has been unfaithful. You're just, um, living a lie.

Stephanie: I'm sorry. That was rude. Am I interrupting something?

Philip: No, we were just talking about what happened with Bo and hope.

Stephanie: Yeah. Yeah, I know how that would be upsetting to you, but why is that personal for you, Chloe?

Chloe: Uh, well, I guess it isn't, not like it is to you.

Stephanie: You seem so stressed out.

Philip: Chloe, don't let us make you late for your appointment, okay?

Chloe: Right. Uh, Stephanie, it was nice to see you. See you later.

Stephanie: So, uh, how's Melanie?

Philip: She's good, I think.

Stephanie: You think?

Philip: I just got back from the airport and, uh... I just got home, so.

Stephanie: Oh, well, you surely made time to chat with Chloe.

Philip: What? I ran into her. I mean, what's the big deal? Do you have a problem with that?

Stephanie: You don't have to get all touchy, Philip.

Philip: Who's touchy? I'm going home to my wife.

Stephanie: Give her my best.

Philip: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: [Sighs] Philip and Chloe, you have a secret that you're not telling me. So...now it's up to me.

Rafe: You want me to buy you a drink? Aren't you afraid I'm gonna slip you a Mickey?

Nicole: [Chuckles] Uh, that's not your speed. You're the original straight shooter.

Rafe: Yeah, well, lot of good that's done me.

Nicole: So, uh... here we both are drinking... in the middle of the day. Wouldn't it be healthier if we drank together?

Rafe: Sure. And why not? Bartender... give the lady whatever she wants.

Nicole: Wow, "the lady." No one's called me that in a long time.

Rafe: [Chuckles]

Sami: You lied to me.

EJ: I lied to you? What did I lie to you about?

Sami: Yes, you lied to me. Oh, don't play games with me.

EJ: I'm not playing games with you, Samantha.

Sami: You told Rafe that we're getting married.

EJ: I didn't tell Rafe anything.

Sami: Well, sure as hell wasn't me.

EJ: Well, it wasn't me. The only person I told was my father because you and I agreed that we could tell members of our family.

Sami: So you're saying that your father told Rafe?

EJ: My father wouldn't tell Rafe.

Sami: If you're not gonna ask him, I will.

EJ: I don't understand what the big deal is, okay? We're getting married, Samantha. People are going to find out. What difference does it make?

Hope: What I really need is I just need some time and space.

Justin: Hope... I don't understand. I thought you wanted us to spend more time together.

Hope: You did?

Justin: Yeah.

Hope: Well, what gave you that impression?

Justin: When we kissed.

Hope: I don't know what you're talking about.

Adrienne: Hey.

Justin: Hey. What are you doing out here?

Adrienne: Looking for you. It's awful about hope.

Justin: [Sighs] In so many ways. I, uh, I--I truly don't know what's gonna happen to her.

Adrienne: Your heart... it's breaking, isn't it? I'm sorry. I know how that feels.

Melanie: Chloe.

Chloe: Hey, Melanie, hi.

Melanie: I'm sorry. I did it again, huh?

Chloe: Uh, did what?

Melanie: Scared you like I did at the apartment.

Chloe: Oh, no, no, no, no. It's not you, I was just--

Melanie: Preoccupied. That's what you said last time. Um, get--can I sit with you?

Chloe: Uh, yeah, sure.

Melanie: Um, so I ran into my dad.

Chloe: Oh, yeah?

Melanie: Yeah. He's worried about Carly. He thinks that hope's relatives and friends are gonna blame her for what hope did.

Chloe: Hmm. I don't think it's that simple.

Melanie: Right. Uh, did Daniel tell you that I got to go to a consult with him?

Chloe: Hmm?

Melanie: He had a meeting with a plastic surgeon and the doctor's gonna reconstruct this woman's face.

Chloe: Uh, Melanie, I really don't want to hear the details of that.

Melanie: Okay, I'm gonna-- I'm gonna go.

Chloe: No, no. Stay. I'm sorry.

Melanie: Um, we saw Carly there.

Chloe: Where?

Melanie: At St. Mary's. That's where the consult was. And Daniel accidentally walked in on Carly's patient and he was so embarrassed. But the funny thing was her patient was this pregnant woman who was getting an amnio under the radar because she doesn't think that her husband is the father of the baby. Can you believe it?

Chloe: You know what? I don't really think that you should be talking about that. That's some poor woman's private business. Actually, I really do have to go, so I'm sorry.

Melanie: You better start telling people you're pregnant or they're gonna just think you're a bitch.

Stephanie: Dr. Jonas?

Daniel: Hey.

Stephanie: Hi.

Daniel: Hi.

Stephanie: Listen, the P.R. Office needs you to approve a press release for your role in the facial reconstruction at St. Mary's.

Daniel: That's getting play in the press?

Stephanie: Yes, it was a success. And the surgeon just did a press conference and talked about you.

Daniel: Yeah, that's great.

Stephanie: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Great. Well, I'll look it over.

Stephanie: Perfect. Thank you. Oh, before I forget, our insurance provider had some questions about Chloe's claim.

Daniel: You mean her accident?

Stephanie: Yeah, they need to know if it was work-related or not. So they want to know why she was at the hospital that night.

Daniel: Oh, just personal reasons.

Stephanie: Okay, I know I'm gonna sound pushy, but I think the claim will go much quicker if you can give me some more information.

Daniel: Okay, uh, well, Chloe gave me a present. It was a watch and she left it in her desk here. Okay?

Stephanie: So the only reason she was at the hospital was to get a watch.

Daniel: Yep.

Stephanie: That should do it. Thank you.

Daniel: You bet. Take care.

Stephanie: One watch, two different places. Somebody's lying. I hate meatloaf...

Justin: Adrienne, it's, um-- it's really just too soon for me to talk about any of this. Especially with you.

Adrienne: I just wanted to make sure you were okay. That's all.

Justin: Thank you. I am. Or I will be.

Adrienne: No, don't say anymore. Can't help the way you feel... anymore than I can. [Sighs]

Melanie: Philip? Yay! You're home! [Laughter] Those are so pretty.

Philip: You like?

Melanie: Yeah. [Laughs]

Philip: [Indistinct]

Maggie: Oh, nothing, huh? Oh, wait a minute. Well, here's Daniel. Maybe he'll know.

Daniel: Knows what?

Maggie: Well, where Stephanie is. She was supposed to drop some stuff off at my house, but she didn't. Her office said she came up to this floor to talk to you.

Daniel: She did. I had some rounds to run, so you probably just missed her. Hey, honey.

Chloe: Hey. Who are you looking for?

Nathan: Stephanie. Have you seen her?

Chloe: No. No.

Maggie: Oh, well, then I'll just leave a message in her office for her.

Nathan: Okay.

Maggie: Okay.

Nathan: Well, listen, if you run into her, tell her I'm on duty.

Maggie: I will do.

Nathan: All right, thank you.

Maggie: Nice seeing the two of you.

Daniel: Nice to see you too.

Chloe: Nice seeing you. Mm, hi, honey.

Daniel: Hey, baby. So what are you doing here? You volunteering today?

Chloe: No, I was just running some errands and I thought maybe I'd ask if you wanted to go home together.

Daniel: Mm, that sounds great.

Chloe: [Chuckles]

Daniel: So when are we gonna break the news about this baby? Because I think I just felt this cute little bump against my stomach.

Chloe: Oh, well, kind of a little bit. I guess it just appeared in the last week or so.

Daniel: Well, so let's tell people.

Chloe: You know what? I kind of wanted to wait until my parents call me on my birthday and I don't really want the rest of the world to know until they know.

Daniel: Hmm. It's a good thing your birthday is tomorrow, because sooner or later, people are gonna figure it out, whether we want them to or not. Okay? Let's go home, baby. Come on.

Stephanie: Okay. So far, so good. You said you saw Philip at Daniel and Chloe's apartment?

Adrienne: Yeah.

Stephanie: And he was acting weird?

Adrienne: Well, nervous like he'd broken in or something, but they must have told him where they hid the spare key.

Stephanie: There's a spare key. Oh. Nice. Okay. Now we just need to find something that will tell me what Philip and Chloe were whispering about. L fruit and

technology.

Rafe: Ah. Grains your body needs.

Rafe: Ah. Thanks.

Nicole: Uh, so, wait, wait. Shouldn't we make a toast?

Rafe: To what?

Nicole: I don't know. The future or something.

Rafe: To the future. May it not suck as much as the present.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Yeah, I'll drink to that.

Sami: [Sighs] EJ, I just needed time.

EJ: Time for what exactly?

Sami: To get used to the idea.

EJ: To get used to what idea?

Sami: Being your fiancée. I mean, I just wanted to, you know, deal with it myself before the whole world knows about it.

EJ: Right, because making it public is making it real?

Sami: Rafe deserved to hear about it from me.

EJ: Look... Samantha, when I asked you to marry me... I knew that you still had feelings for Rafe. Well, we've come so far. I mean, do you remember how things used to be?

Sami: I'd rather not.

EJ: And I wish I had children and trust and great affection for one another. Wouldn't you agree? That's not enough for me. You know? And as you know, I'm not a particularly patient man. But I think the odds are in our favor. I really do. It's up to you, though. Are we off? Or are we on?

Sami: We're on.

Maggie: Oh, there you are.

Nathan: Hey.

Maggie: I left a message for Stephanie. I suppose you haven't reached her yet, I assume.

Nathan: Who?

Maggie: Stephanie.

Nathan: Oh, yeah. Um, actually, no, I haven't. I left a message for her, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Maggie: You're not worried about her, are you?

Nathan: Stephanie? No, no, of course not. Why would I be? I mean, she's probably just busy.

Maggie: Well, something is obviously upsetting you.

Nathan: No, it's not at all. Okay? Um, I'll talk to you later, all right?

Maggie: Sure. Ahem.

[Laughter]

Melanie: You've been gone a long time.

Philip: Sorry I didn't come home from the airport right away.

Melanie: It's okay. You're home now.

Philip: Yes, I am. And nothing matters to me more than you do. I hope you never forget that.

Melanie: Why would I?

Caroline: It's nice to see you again, Adrienne.

Adrienne: Hi.

Caroline: You expecting someone to join you?

Adrienne: No. Early dinner for one.

Caroline: Eh, I know about that.

Adrienne: How's Bo doing?

Caroline: Well, he's-- he's trying to grapple with what's happened with hope. Have you talked to your brother or Kayla?

Adrienne: Yeah, yeah. In fact, I saw Stephanie today too and she thinks her world is turned upside down.

Caroline: Because of Bo and hope? Oh, is there problems with Nathan?

Adrienne: I don't know if they're real or-- or she's seeing something that isn't there.

Caroline: Still?

Adrienne: Mm-hmm. To be honest with you, I'm-- I'm a little worried about her.

Stephanie: Okay. Maybe Chloe keeps a journal or something. "Enter password"? You don't keep your passwords-- who doesn't do that? Okay, um, um, think. I can hack in, maybe, to the-- oh, my God. What am I doing? Just broke into someone's home and I'm trying to hack into their computer. This is so pathetic. If Nathan knew how paranoid I was acting, he would hate me. I hate me.

[Cell phone rings]

Stephanie: [Scoffs] Damn it. [Groans] Um, grandma, what do you want?

Caroline: Stephanie, where are you? You don't sound good.

Stephanie: I'm just really busy right now. Can I, can I call you back?

Caroline: No. I want to know how you are or I'm gonna call Nathan.

Stephanie: Grandma, listen--

Chloe: I can make chicken salad.

Daniel: No.

[Indistinct chatter]

Chloe: Mm. Aren't you hungry?

Daniel: Insatiable. Hang on.

Victor: Oh, good God. You still have feelings for her.

Nicole: Because I blew it just like you did.

Sami: When do you want to get married?
