Sami: EJ, what are you...

EJ: I know. I was going to wait. And...and then when you... asked me if you could come live in the mansion with me... you and the children... I realized that something... monumental had changed between the two of us. Something that I never allowed myself to hope would happen is happening. I love you. I've always loved you, Samantha. I could...spend a lifetime on my knee down here in front of you, and I could never... fully express to you the place that you hold in my heart.

[Sami crying]

EJ: I want to raise our family together, so I'm asking you... please...Samantha, to let me love you.

[Sami crying]

EJ: Will you marry me?

Sami: EJ.

EJ: Look, I know this is sudden, I do.

Sami: EJ, I can't.

Fay: Okay, Fay. Break's over, girlfriend. Back to the glamorous life.

Rafe: Hello, Fay. I need to ask you a few questions. About your daughter.

Nicole: [Clears throat] This is the address. I want you to go there and do whatever it is that you do.

Marco: Helps to know the guy's name.

Nicole: Baker. Dr. Richard baker.

Marco: You want me to take him out?

Nicole: That means...

Marco: Whack him. Cancel his ticket.

Nicole: Okay, I get it. I get it. No. I just--can't you just put him under some kind of house arrest or something until I figure out what to do with him?

Marco: House arrest? Do you want me to read him his rights too?

Nicole: No. Just keep him there and don't let him make any phone calls until you hear from me.

Marco: Whatever.

Nicole: Yeah, you can go now.

[Door opens, closes]

Nicole: Oh, sorry, Dick. You shouldn't have come back. You should have stayed dead.

[Knock at door]

Nicole: What a moron! What, do I have to spell it out for you. [Chuckles]

[Cell phone rings]

Dr. Baker: Somebody with money? Hey, Charlie. No, no, you're not interrupting anything. In fact, your timing is impeccable.

Bo: So these wallets you found under Mommy's bed, you know who they belong to?

Ciara: Yeah. I'm a good reader.

Bo: Heh! I know you are. So whose wallets were they?

Ciara: Uncle Roman, Uncle Justin...

Bo: Who else?

Ciara: Uncle Abe.

Bo: You're absolutely sure that's what you saw?

Ciara: Why did Mommy have those wallets?

Bo: I don't know, little one. I don't know. But I'm gonna find out. I'm gonna find out.

Hope: I know I missed my mark the first time, but that won't happen again, Bo Brady... you are a dead man.

Jocelyn: Hey.

Bo: Hello, Detective McCarthy. Jocelyn is gonna take very, very good care of you.

Jocelyn: Ciara, do you know how to play that card game Spit?

Bo: Oh, she kills at Spit.

Jocelyn: [Laughs]

Bo: It's okay. It's okay. I love you. I'll see you soon, okay? Um, be very careful with her. She's been through an awful lot.

Jocelyn: I understand..

Jocelyn: Hey, we're gonna have a lot of fun today, okay? Do you want to go to the playground first before we play Spit?

Ciara: Okay.

Jocelyn: Okay.

Bo: Bye, bye.

[Cell phone rings]

Bo: Hey, man, what's up?

Justin: We need to talk. It's about Hope.

Vivian: Hope. I'm so glad you're here. I know you're angry with me-

Hope: No, I'm not.

Vivian: You're not? You just practically threw me out of the house.

Hope: How could I possibly throw you out? You live here. I just want to talk alone with Carly.

Vivian: So we're all right? Carly didn't poison your mind against me?

Hope: Oh, she tried. But I make my own decisions.

Vivian: Good. I don't know what she told your relationship with Lawrence or what kind of spin she put on his death, but she stabbed him in cold blood. He didn't have a chance. He had no defense. I know Bo must have told you how he feels about me.

Hope: He hates you.

Vivian: I know. I know. But that doesn't stop me from worrying about what Carly could do to him if someone doesn't stop her.

Hope: By someone, you mean me?

Vivian: Well, you're the injured party. You seem so bereft. I didn't know...

Hope: Vivian. Slow down. I know what to do.

Sami: [Weeps]

EJ: This is awkward.

Sami: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

EJ: No, I'm sorry. I just seem to have terribly misjudged the situation. And I told you I was gonna wait. That's what I said I would do, and that's what I intended to do. I just, you know... you know me. I'm not a very patient man.

Sami: Look, EJ, you have to know. I know that I would not have gotten through these last months without you. I just--I know I owe you so much.

EJ: Samantha, you don't owe me anything.

Sami: And I have to tell you that you--that you getting down on one knee like that, I mean, that's just--what you said, it's just the most romantic--most romantic thing ever. It is.

EJ: Yeah. I finally figured out the way to your heart was not to drag you back to my cave by your hair. Just a...little too late.

Sami: It's not that. Look, you... I care about you. I mean, I don't know how it happened... But you have to know I do. And you're right that it's changed between us. But part of me is still... ahem. A part of me still has feelings for Rafe. I mean, I wish more than anything right now it weren't true, but it is. And... and I know... I know I can't marry you, I can't say yes, while that's true. I'm sorry. I'm--I'm sorry.

Nicole: Come in.

Brady: Hello. That guy looked familiar. What was that all about?

Nicole: Familiar? No. He was just a messenger from the news station.

Brady: You sounded irritated. What--what are you gonna spell out for him?

Nicole: Well, I wanted to send a memo to the head of the news department, you know, with a few story ideas for the future, and I wanted it to go straight to his desk and this kid had a crazy idea of making a few stops along the way. You know how I feel about that.

Brady: Yeah.

Nicole: Anyway, what are you doing not that I am not delighted.

Brady: Well, um, you. You brought me here.

Justin: Hey, Bo. Have a seat. Thanks for meeting me here.

Bo: This about Hope?

Justin: Yeah. Um... This isn't easy. I feel so damned disloyal.

Bo: Would you just tell me?

Justin: Adrienne saw it before I did. I guess I just didn't really want to see it but it's like--it's like she's two different people.

Hope: Like I was saying, Vivian, Bo has nothing to fear from Carly manning.

Vivian: Good. I hope she hasn't convinced you that she's harmless, because I am so tired of her making people feel sorry for her after she got away with murder.

Hope: She'd have to be an awfully good actress for me to feel sorry for her.

Vivian: Right.

Hope: She did share the details of her and Lawrence with me. Why she killed him. How. I didn't know all that before.

Vivian: My nephew had a few problems. That doesn't mean he deserved to die.

Hope: I don't know about that. She seemed to have a case.

Vivian: Case? There is no justification for what that monster did.

Hope: I was simply stating an opinion. But, no, I'm not on her side. Not after what she did to my family.

Vivian: Good.

Hope: And I'll tell you something else. There are a lot of women out there just like Carly manning.

Vivian: [Laughs] What is that supposed to mean?

Hope: That if you don't want to end up like me, you might want to spend a little less time obsessing on what happened to your dead nephew and keep an eye on your live husband. If you catch my drift.

Maggie: Here you go. Cute.

[Knock on door]

Maggie: [Muttering]

Vivian: Hello, Maggie.

Maggie: Well, Vivian, you look... did something happen to... to Victor?

Vivian: Yes. You.

Nicole: Wow.

Brady: Wow.

Nicole: Boy, glad to see you.

Brady: Let me say I'm glad to see you too.

Nicole: Brady, this place is...

Brady: Nicole, does it like I'm concerned about the place.

Nicole: Okay, this--this is really sudden.

Brady: It's not--it's not for me, because I've been thinking a lot and remembering a lot.

Nicole: About us?

Brady: About us.

Nicole: Me too.

Brady: I want to give it a shot. That's what I came here to say.

Nicole: So things with you and Ari are really over?

Brady: You are the one. I think you always have been. What is it? What's wrong? You all right?

Nicole: No. No, I'm not.

Rafe: So if you can give me some honest answers, I think it'll be the best thing for Nicole. In the long run.

Fay: Look, um, I really don't have that long in my shift, so just let me put in my time and punch out and then we can talk. Okay?

Rafe: Okay.

Fay: Thanks.

Rafe: Hey, Tim, it's me. Well, I found Fay Walker. Yeah, I'm just hoping that I got here before Nicole had a chance to move whatever it is that she had on EJ.

EJ: Samantha, just wait, wait a second, please. Are you really ready to give away your happiness and your children's happiness because of the feelings you have for some man who doesn't even give you the time of day?

Sami: Look, I have done some horrible things in my life, but I'm not gonna do this. I know what it does to everyone involved, and I am not gonna tell you that I am gonna marry you while I still have feelings for someone else. Okay? I would feel guilty 24/7. It would be leading you on.

EJ: But that's the thing. You see, you're not leading me on, okay? Samantha, you're not doing that, because, for once we're actually being honest with each other. I mean, don't you see that? It's a good thing.

Sami: Heh. EJ, I just told you I have feelings for someone else, and you're spinning it to the positive?

EJ: I'm not... I know that Rafe is in your head, okay? I get it. I just--I don't accept that it's always going to be that way.

Sami: I'm in love with him.

EJ: Maybe. But you love me too. I know you do, Sama--I see it in your eyes. There.

Sami: I don't know what to say. I mean, my feelings are obviously confused. I mean, I can't pretend like there's not--I mean, how could you want to be with someone like me.

EJ: I wouldn't. I mean, normally, I wouldn't, you know, not with the old Samantha. But that's not you. I mean, this person who used to just run around and dig her claws into somebody and not stop whether he liked it or not has gone.

Sami: Yeah, well, it never got me anywhere, did it?

EJ: We've grown up, you and me. We've changed. I wouldn't have fallen in love with you again if not for that.

Sami: What about all the horrible things that I've done to you?

EJ: I did some pretty horrible things myself. That's not my point. Listen to me. I just feel that right now we're in a place where we can wipe the slate clean. You know, we can start fresh. So I'm asking you... Samantha Brady, please give me, Elvis DiMera, just a chance. That's it. Just a chance. That's all I'm asking for. Does that sound like too much?

[Click]

Rafe: Come on, Fay, haven't you ever heard you're not supposed to use a birthday of someone close to you as a password or combination for a lock? Well, well, well. Looks like Nicole has been keeping in touch.

Brady: If I came on a little strong, I'm sorry.

Nicole: No. No, no, no. Don't be sorry. That's not what I meant. I just can't believe this.

Brady: Why not?

Nicole: Because you're-- you're here and not because I've done something to mess up my life.

Brady: I'm here because I love you.

Nicole: You love me?

Brady: Yeah.

Nicole: Who knew?

Hope: If at first you do not succeed ... not my best look. But it'll have to do.

[Cell phone rings]

Bo: Hope, what's up?

Hope: I was looking for you. I'm here at the house.

Bo: Anything wrong?

Hope: I really need to talk to you. It's--it's Ciara. I really don't understand things that she's saying.

Bo: Okay. Okay. I'm on my way.

Hope: Good. I'll be waiting. [Hangs up] Oh, yes, I will.

Sami: EJ, I can't do this. I can't say that I will marry you unless I am 100% certain that it's what I want, and I'm-- and I'm just not.

EJ: Rafe Hernandez is an idiot, you know that, right?

Sami: Yes, I know that.

EJ: Yeah. Okay. I understand. I don't like it very much... but I understand.

Bo: Thanks for telling me this.

Justin: Hope wouldn't appreciate it.

Bo: Yeah, well, she's not calling the shots.

Justin: Bo, I'm really worried about her. And so is Adrienne.

Bo: So am I.

Justin: So are you gonna go talk to her now?

Bo: On my way there now.

Justin: Good luck.

Bo: Thanks, man.

Justin: [Sighs]

[Cell phone rings]

Baker: Hey. I didn't expect to hear from you again.

Hope: You don't deserve to. Calling 911 after I went to all that trouble.

Baker: I read in the paper your husband was released from the hospital.

Hope: Yes, yes. He's good as new. The reason I'm calling is... I'm going to be taking off soon.

Baker: Where are you going?

Hope: I just wanted to thank you. For your loyalty. It meant a lot to me.

Baker: Hope, listen, why don't we catch one last drink before you take off?

Hope: No time. This is going to have to be good-bye.

Baker: Hope? [Hangs up] What now?

Vivian: Aren't you going to ask me in?

Maggie: You want to give me a good reason why I should?

Vivian: Well, I'm very concerned for you.

Maggie: And why is that?

Vivian: Because you just haven't been yourself these days.

Maggie: You don't know who I am.

Vivian: Well, I know that you were married for a very long time and had a reasonably happy marriage. Mickey Horton died not less than a year ago, and you're making a pass at my husband. Don't you think I have some reason for concern?

Bo: Hey.

Hope: Hey. Thank you for coming home so soon.

EJ: Hey, would you do me just a little favor? It would mean a lot to me if, uh...I want you keep this?

Sami: No, no, no, EJ. I can't do that.

EJ: Samantha, just, just, please. What am I supposed to do with this? I can't put it anywhere. I can't put it in a drawer. I could never walk past that drawer. I put it in a room, I can't go into the room. Just take it from me, please. Put it somewhere. I don't--just put it in a box, put it in a sock. I don't care. Maybe--maybe every now and again, just, you know, look at it a little. Think of me. It would mean a lot to me.

Sami: Oh, God, EJ. It's just... it's a gorgeous ring. Beautiful.

EJ: It's pretty. There's a jeweler back in London who isn't gonna speak to me for the next hundred years, the amount of flack I gave him over this.

Sami: London?

EJ: This wasn't some impulse, Samantha. I love you. I mean, I love you. You know, I just--it feels great that I can finally say that. I love you. So take it. I know it's gonna take a long time for you to get Rafe out of your system. I'll wait. I mean, you're the love of my life. I'll wait. And if you'll have me, I promise you that I will be the best husband and the most wonderful father, and I will love you more than any man has ever loved anyone until the last little breath slips out of my lips.

Sami: I don't know what to say.

Johnny: Why are you crying, Mommy?

Rafe: Damn it.

Fay: Okay, honey, see you in the morning. Have a good night.

Rafe: Hey.

Fay: Hey. Still here I see.

Rafe: Still here.

Fay: So you want a cup of lousy coffee?

Rafe: Oh, with an offer like that, how can I refuse?

Rafe: Black.

Fay: Hmm. You'll be sorry. So this trouble that you say Nicki's in ... it doesn't have anything to do with that precious little baby?

Rafe: Really shaking there. Nervous?

Fay: Well, you tell me my daughter's in trouble, of course, I'm nervous.

Rafe: Well, rest assured. Sydney is okay. The person who's giving her trouble is... Sydney's father, EJ.

Fay: EJ. So what's going on there?

Rafe: Well, all I'm free to tell you is that Nicole's mixed up with EJ again. You know as well as I do what that means.

Fay: Yeah. Nicki always ends up with the... fuzzy end of the lollipop.

Rafe: Yeah. I'd really hate to see anything that would get in the way of her pardon. I'm sure you feel the same way.

Fay: Rather not see the inside of the visiting room at the women's prison again.

Rafe: Right. Yeah. So how about we start at the beginning and this time you tell me the truth? You've been in contact with Nicole lately?

Nicole: [Murmurs]

Baker: This better be good. I'm supposed to be keeping a low profile.

Charlie: That philly you bet?

Baker: Yeah.

Charlie: She paid 50 to 1. So now you're flush again, maybe we'll see you back at the poker table.

Baker: I'm sorry, Charlie. This money, it's like a sign. This time, I'm leaving Salem for good.

Bo: I'm glad you called.

Hope: Good.

Bo: But before we talk about Ciara, I want to--I want to talk about you.

Hope: You want to talk about me?

Bo: Yeah. It's very obvious that... something is terribly, terribly wrong. And I'm not talking about I'm just worried about you. It's gotten to the point where I need to take action. Things cannot stay the way they are.

Hope: And they sure as hell shouldn't. Everything that's wrong... you caused it. All of it.

Maggie: I thought I made myself clear, Vivian. I am not throwing myself at Victor.

Vivian: Then why is he always over here?

Maggie: I don't know. Ask him. I made it very clear to him that I am not interested in anything other than friendship.

Vivian: Then why are you always laughing and scratching together?

Maggie: Well, because that's what friends do. You wouldn't know because you don't have any.

Vivian: [Scoffs]

Maggie: Oh, look, Vivian, If you're not getting what you want from Victor, that's your problem. Now get out.

Sami: Hey, I know you've seen me do a lot of crying this last year, but you don't have to worry, okay, 'cause I wasn't crying because I was sad. Promise I wasn't.

EJ: Hey, your mother wouldn't tell you something if it wasn't true, would she?

Sami: You know what actually happened, Johnny? Your daddy, he said some really nice things about me. And actually it made me really happy. What are you thinking?

Johnny: Does that mean you're getting married?

Fay: Look, I told you. I have not had a good conversation with Nicki since Santo Domingo.

Rafe: Fay, you love your daughter. Yeah, I can see that. But you're holding out on me. You know something important. Now if you don't tell me, a lot of people could get hurt. And if that happens, well, it's not gonna be good for Nicole.

Fay: Okay. There is one more thing.

Bo: I don't want to get into a fight with you.

Hope: Who said anything about a fight?

Bo: You said I'm responsible for everything that's wrong in your life.

Hope: Beauregard, you're hearing things that simply aren't there.

Bo: Okay. You called me here because you said Ciara was saying things.

Hope: I just made that up. I said it because I would get you here.

Bo: Okay, I'm here.

Hope: Lovely home. Lots of memories. Lots of memories.

Bo: I agree.

Hope: You know, I could have asked you to come to Victor's, but then again this really is the perfect place.

Bo: To do what exactly?

Hope: To put a period at the end of the sentence. It's time for the two of us to say good-bye.

Maggie: I asked you to leave.

Vivian: I asked you to leave my husband alone.

Maggie: You know, you've played this all wrong, Vivian. Because now I am mad. Victor is my friend. And I don't walk away from my friends.

Vivian: You better leave him alone, or you'll be sorry.

Maggie: Oh, bite me!

[Door opens, closes]

Vivian: Poor choice of words. My bite is worse than my bark.

Sami: What is all this marriage stuff about? Did you and Daddy have a talk? Come clean, DiMera.

EJ: We might have had a little, tiny talk.

Sami: Johnny?

EJ: Look.

Sami: I see.

EJ: Honey, your mother doesn't want to get married just at this precise moment.

Johnny: But it would be awesome.

EJ: It would be amazing. It would be wonderful. But, hey, do you remember the picture that we drew where all of us were together as a family? Okay, well, it's gonna be just like that. See we're not married, but your mother and your father are not going anywhere. It's gonna be just the same.

Sami: Right. Right.

Rafe: Fay, you can tell me. I promise you it will be better for Nicole.

Fay: She made me swear not to tell anybody.

Rafe: I know there's things she doesn't want you to talk about. They usually work out real well for her. Right?

Fay: Nicki... she sent me an envelope. And she told me to guard what was inside of it with my life.

Rafe: Does that mean you know what's inside?

Nicole: Things are gonna be different now, Brady. How can they not be? You said I was the one and that you love me.

Brady: I know what I said.

Nicole: Yeah, you love me.

Brady: I tried to fight it. I did. But I lost. Things are gonna be really good for us from now on.

Nicole: I'm counting on it.

So, Dr. Baker. Why are you late for our appointment?

Baker: Dear Hope, I just want to let you know that I've had a bit of a windfall, so I'm going to take off too. I really liked knowing you. Just so you know, I'll always love you.

Bo: What kind of good-bye is this?

Hope: You've already moved on with someone else. Moved her into our bed. Into my home. What else is there?

Bo: Hope, you're scaring me.

Hope: Am I?

Bo: Yeah. I wouldn't want you to do anything where you might hurt yourself.

Hope: Oh, I'm not gonna do anything to hurt myself. It's you.

Bo: What?

Hope: On behalf of women everywhere... good-bye, Bo Brady! [Wields a long knife toward Bo]

On the next "Days of Our Lives" --

Rafe (to Fay): So why would Nicole be blackmailing somebody?

Chloe (to Melanie): What the hell are you doing here?

Carly (to Daniel): And that person won't have a chance to hurt him or anyone else again.
