Hope: All set. Now all I have to do... is get the rest of the things on that list... and create a little hell on earth.

Bo: Hey. What are you doing here?

Daniel: Chloe, what? What aren't you telling me? The problem with the annulment is over and done with. You forgot to mention it. You dropped the idea of a church wedding. You forgot to mention that. So what? What the hell is going on?

Chloe: I've changed my mind, okay? I just want a civil ceremony.

Daniel: I can't believe that. I don't believe that.

Chloe: Well, I'm sorry if it's so hard for you to accept that that's what I want--

Daniel: Tell me the real reason why you changed your mind about marrying me.

Lexie: Chad, Mr. Woods... why don't we have a seat over here?

Charles: [Sigh] What's going on?

Lexie: I'm so sorry to have to tell you this... Mrs. Woods didn't survive her injuries.

Chad: No. No, mm. Mm.

Charles: She's, uh...?

Lexie: She's gone. I am so sorry.

Chad: No. No, this can't be true. She was just alive. A while ago she was talking to me. Dad. What are we gonna do, Dad?

Charles: Get the hell away from me.

Chad: Dad.

Charles: You son of a bitch. You killed her.

Hope: Gosh, what am I doing here? Well, Ciara asked me to stop by and pick up her video games she left here.

Bo: Okay. Did you find them?

Hope: No.

Bo: Here they are.

Hope: Thanks. Hang in there, Beauregard. Gotta go.

Bo: Whoa-hoa-hoa, wait. Wait a minute. Something is wrong here.

Hope: You might wanna define "wrong."

Bo: Where's Hope, and what have you done with her?

Nathan: Hey.

Stephanie: Hello. You know, this bracelet you got me looks totally different in artificial light. See?

Nathan: Yeah, it looks great.

Stephanie: Yeah. So did you pack yet?

Nathan: No, actually I haven't.

Stephanie: But I thought you wanted to move in with me.

Nathan: Yeah. Look... well, we need to have a serious talk.

Melanie: Mm. Bliss is right.

Philip: Hey.

Melanie: Hey, you're up.

Philip: Yeah. And I discovered something.

Melanie: Mm, what's that?

Philip: I get lonely when my wife's not around.

Melanie: Mm. Well, try this.

Philip: Mm.

Melanie: Hmm, yeah? Hershey's Bliss, isn't that rich and indulgent?

Philip: Mm-hmm.

Melanie: [Giggles] Should we give some to Chloe?

Philip: What?

Melanie: Well, she's pregnant and you know how women start craving different foods.

Philip: Mm. How lucky I am to have you.

Melanie: Mm-hmm. 'Cause I know how lucky I am to have you. I was thinking about it the other day, how close I came to blowing it by not being honest. But never again, I promise. I mean it. And I finally realized how important it is to be honest and tell the truth. And as long as we have that going for us, what could go wrong?

Daniel: At least tell me the real reason why you dropped the church ceremony.

Chloe: Father Matt can't marry us because he thinks I'm a bad person.

Daniel: What? What? That's absurd.

Chloe: No, no, it's not. I've done things. Things that he can't accept.

Hope: What kind of a question is that? I'm the same person I've always been.

Bo: Okay. You know, just shooting for a little humor. I promise, I'll keep my day job.

Hope: Hilarious.

Bo: You do seem different.

Hope: And how is that?

Bo: Just your hair, your makeup, um... you kissed me, you called me "Beauregard," like nothing ever happened. You know, like the old days.

Hope: [Chuckles] You're right. I am different. But you know what? There's a very good reason.

Stephanie: Okay, look. Before you say anything, I just want you to know that I understand. I do, okay? I mean, the whole moving in together thing, I get it. I mean, sometimes a guy says he wants something, and then the whole commitment thing rears its ugly head, and then he realizes it's--

Nathan: Hey... I'm not the guy. I'm Nathan, and I am in love with you.

Stephanie: But...?

Nathan: But I wanna make sure it's what you really want. I mean, come on. Your roommate bailed, I asked-- it was all kinda spur of the moment, and it seemed great at the moment. And the idea seemed great, but--

Stephanie: I want you to move in with me. I wanna be with you. I wanna go to bed next to you every night. I wanna wake up next to you every morning. I wanna raid the fridge with you, I don't know. I wanna get those famous back rubs, and shower together-- everything, anything. Because I love you.

Nathan: Well, that seems clear. I guess we're good to go then, right?

Stephanie: Yeah, all you have to do is pack.

Nathan: And that's what I'm gonna do.

Chad: Dad, it was an accident, all right? We were arguing, and I just wanted to get away from it all. So I ran up the stairs, and she grabbed my arm, and it--

Charles: Shut up, shut up, shut up! Not another word, you hear me?

Lexie: Mr. Woods, why don't we sit back down? I'd like to explain to you exactly what happened.

Charles: What? What in God's name do I need to hear? My wife is dead. Why do I need some half-assed explanation from the doctor who let her die?

Stefano: Just a moment.

Kate: Stefano.

Stefano: You don't talk to my daughter like this because she tried to save your wife. How dare you be so disrespectful?

Kate: Stefano, enough. Enough, enough! Lexie can take care of the situation. Mr. Woods, I know this is a very difficult situation.

Charles: What the hell business is this of yours? Either of you. Why are you even here? Stay out of it.

Stefano: You ungrateful--

Chad: Dad, we've just-- we've gotta try and--

Charles: Didn't I tell you to shut the hell up? I don't even wanna hear your voice.

Chad: Dad, please. Please, can't you see that I'm upset too? She-she's my mom.

Charles: That's right. Your mom. Your mother, who loved you with every cell of her being. Who worried about you, about how you would react to whatever the hell it was we were doing or even thinking about doing. We couldn't even have a simple conversation without your name coming up.

Chad: Dad, please.

Charles: But did you ever think about her even for one minute? No, of course not, you selfish little bastard.

Chad: Dad, no, no.

Charles: And now you know what I see when I look at you? I see her killer.

Chad: Dad, come on, please. Come on, please, dad. I love you. I need you to understand that--

Charles: I don't give a damn what you need! Stay away from me. Get outta my sight.

Hope: In case you've forgotten, I'm a detective. Tonight I'm working on a case undercover. And this is the new me. I've gotta go.

Bo: Wait. I'm not just talking about the look, the way you talk. It's your whole demeanor, the way you carry yourself. Something weird is going on here. I'm worried about you.

Hope: Wow. I'm flattered... that you care enough to worry. But hey. If you wanna go there, okay. Maybe it is time the two of us got everything out in the open.

Philip: You know, we're both very lucky, you know that?

Melanie: Mm.

Philip: To get past everything we did and get married.

Melanie: There was a lot, yeah. But the love was always there.

Philip: Yeah. Yeah, but when something happens down the road... we'll make it past that, right?

Melanie: Yeah. Of course. I can't really think of anything that's gonna happen to us, though, that would cause trouble. Can you?

Daniel: Honey...what? Okay, what kind of things have you done that Father Matt can't accept?

Chloe: Just, um, stuff about myself and things I've done that I shouldn't have, and he's really disappointed in me.

Daniel: Well, he said you were a bad person? He said that?

Chloe: He just said that I have issues that I need to work through, and I need to be in a better place before he'd even consider marrying us.

Daniel: Baby, we all have issues. But I'm not buying any of that.

Hope: First of all, I'm a cop working undercover who simply stopped by to pick up her daughter's video games. You see? Nothing weird is going on. Oh, but wait. I am trying to get my life up and running again. Does that count?

Bo: Sure.

Hope: You know, maybe the little gossip fairies you've been listening to, maybe they don't want that. Hmm. You think?

Bo: The people who have talked to me about you... are good people, only have your best interest in mind, and I trust them.

Hope: I'm sure you do. But I'm busy right now.

Bo: Hope, I am worried about you--

Hope: So you keep saying.

Bo: Not just because I care about you, but for Ciara's sake too.

Hope: Oh, such a caring daddy. I'll let her know--

Bo: Will you stop with the sarcasm and tell me what the hell is going on here?

Hope: You wanna know what the hell is going on? Fine, I'll tell you. Maybe I lose my temper every once in a while, okay? Maybe... maybe I'm trying to be kind, and sweet, and loving. Perfect. And maybe, just maybe, I can't play the long-suffering jilted wife 24-7.

Bo: I never asked you to.

Hope: Do you have any idea how hard, how... [Sighs] How painful it is see the woman who stole my husband sashaying around here like she won the damn lottery? If that makes me not myself to you, if that throws off my demeanor in any way, well, that is just too damn bad. I'm a human being who's dealing with her life the best she can. And what's your problem?

Bo: My problem? Is that you're dealing with this in a way Hope never would. Just the opposite, in fact.

Stephanie: Here's your phone.

Nathan: Thank you.

Adrienne: Hi.

Nathan: Hey, how are you?

Adrienne: Good. Good night. Oh. Ah. You look happy.

Stephanie: Oh, my God, Aunt Adrienne. Nathan's moving in with me.

Philip: Hey, man. No, no, it's not like I'm looking for trouble, no. It's just, if something happens...

Melanie: We'll be fine.

Philip: Yeah.

Melanie: We're solid. Yeah, we screwed up a little bit, but we've learned from that, right?

Philip: I hope.

Melanie: Although I do have to confess I made a terrible mistake tonight.

Philip: [Chuckles] What was that?

Melanie: Well, I got out of bed. And that was just so wrong.

Philip: Mm.

Melanie: Because my husband has needs, and I like tending to those.

Philip: [Chuckles] You're coming with me.

Melanie: Yeah?

Philip: Yeah.

Melanie: [Giggles]

Philip: [Chuckles]

Chloe: You're not buying it? So what are you saying, that I'm a liar?

Daniel: Chloe, if you talked to Father Matthew, if you talked to him about yourself, if you gave him some reason to believe that you're just not ready to be married yet, you know what we'll do? We'll go down there together, you and me, and we'll just talk to him.

Chloe: No!

Daniel: No, but no matter what--whatever it is--I don't care what it is, all right? I just need to know what is going on with you.

Chloe: Fine, fine, okay!

Daniel: I wanna know!

Chloe: Fine! Just...

Daniel: Just what? What? Talk to me!

Chloe: Call Father Matt yourself, all right? Here, use my phone. Why don't you call him, and tell him I said it's okay to just tell you what I told him in confession. Just find out the real reason we can't get married. Here!

Kate: You're upset. I think we should go.

Stefano: What a way to treat your son, at a time like this.

Kate: Well, I don't think Mr. Woods was ever a role model.

Stefano: [Sigh] I know what it is to lose a son. After I yelled at Tony. I said all those things--awful things. And I said that he was dead to me. [Sigh] Not even an hour later.

Kate: No, no, no. It's gonna be all right. Come on, here.

Chad: Dad. You can't just cut me out like this. I loved her too. We both did. My mom and I, we were just... you know?

Charles: You were just what, Chad? Having a violent argument with your own mother.

Chad: No, no, no. It wasn't violent.

Charles: Then why did you shove her down the stairs?

Lexie: Mr. Woods!

Charles: What now?

Lexie: Your wife was on medication for a very serious condition. She was living on borrowed time. Your son did not kill her.

Hope: You are some hypocrite, you know that? Who are you to judge me?

Bo: I am not judging you. I'm worried. You're obviously not acting like yourself.

Hope: Oh, but it's okay for you to go haul off, do anything you damn well please, right? That's okay, right?

Bo: If I have done something to make you do things you wouldn't normally do, well, I am sorry.

Hope: Too late in the game for that. You made your choice, didn't you?

Bo: This is not about Carly. And I will not apologize for her. I hate what happened just as much as you. But to put this on Carly... that's below us. You and I have a problem, we work it out. Face-to-face, right?

Hope: Sure. Why not?

Bo: We're not together anymore. But that doesn't mean I don't still love you. We're family. We have our children together. We've shared most of our life together. I will always care, and so will you.

Daniel: Listen... there is no reason in the world for you to be this upset. I love you, you hear me? And I only want you to be happy, okay? So obviously, talking about this right now, it's too much. Okay, it's too much, so just forget it. We'll forget it. And I certainly don't need to talk to Father Matt. Because if he's got a problem with you, he can just go take a hike. Because the only person I wanna talk to--to talk with, to be with...is my fiancé.

Chloe: I'm just sorry that I'm making you so angry at me.

Daniel: Baby, baby, baby, I'm not angry. I'm just--I'm so confused, that's it. But what am I gonna do? All right, so what? It'll all come clear some day. Whenever.

Chloe: I'm just sorry that I'm making things so confused.

Daniel: Hey, come here. Come here.

Chad: What do you mean she was living on borrowed time?

Lexie: Because of her condition. Uh...you did know about this.

Charles: Are you talking about her hypertension? She's being treated.

Chad: Yeah, she just took a few pills each day and then that was it, right?

Lexie: Yeah, the hypertension was a problem, but she also had a history of developing aneurysms. You did know about this, didn't you?

Charles: We spoke about it once or twice. She was a very private person.

Chad: Okay, so I've heard of aneurysms before, but...

Lexie: Oh, okay. Just so you'll understand, an aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel. And because a vessel has been stretched, it's weak at that point and can sometimes burst open. In your mother's case, the aneurysm was in her brain.

Chad: So that's why she bled so much?

Lexie: Yeah.

Charles: So when she fell, and hit her head, the aneurysm broke.

Lexie: No, not necessarily. An aneurysm can break while you're sleeping, driving your car, just turning your head from side to side.

Charles: Or falling down a flight of stairs.

Lexie: Okay--

Charles: Your son is having one of his snit fits.

Lexie: Mr. Woods, I don't think that you're getting a true picture of exactly what happened.

Charles: Why the hell do we even need to know this?

Lexie: Because I want you both to understand that placing blame has no bearing on what happened--

Charles: I don't even know why I'm listening to you! I've got to make arrangements for my wife.

Lexie: [Sighs] Chad, I'm so sorry.

Chad: Thanks.

Hope: You're right. We'll always care about each other. Always have a connection.

Bo: Yeah. So if there's something that's making you do things, you know, maybe go out on a limb... if you need to talk to someone, I can be that someone.

Hope: Okay.

Bo: Anything you wanna talk about now? I mean, I'm here. I can be here all night if you need.

[Phone rings]

Bo: Ah. Sorry. Oh. Hey. No, no, I can hear you. Oh, okay. No, no, it's fine. Um, we'll talk later. Yeah, bye.

Hope: Everything okay?

Bo: Yeah, Carly just got called into emergency surgery. She'll be there all night. But that's good, you know. Give us a chance to talk, figure some things out. What do you say?

Hope: I say I'd like that.

Bo: Okay.

Adrienne: So what happened? I mean, did he just up and say, "I wanna move in," or what?

Stephanie: Yeah. All I had to do was tell him my roommate was moving to New York, and out it came.

Adrienne: Excellent. No plots, no machinations. Honey, isn't it so much better when you just let it happen naturally?

Stephanie: Yeah. You mean, when I'm not trying to get knocked up by the guy so that he has to marry me?

Adrienne: [Sigh]

Stephanie: I'm completely mortified that I even considered that.

Adrienne: Hey, hey, hey. You realized your mistake, now everything's going your way.

Stephanie: Totally.

Adrienne: I bet I know what made Nathan come around.

Stephanie: What?

Adrienne: Your love. Your open, honest love.

Stephanie: I have to keep pinching myself to make sure that this is all real.

Adrienne: [Giggles]

Stephanie: But Nathan does love me. Yeah. And that little Melanie girl... she's history.

Melanie: [Humming]

Nathan: [Sigh]

Melanie: Ah!

Nathan: Oh, yeah.

Melanie: Hi, what are you doing here?

Nathan: Sorry, I just came to drop this stuff off for Maggie.

Melanie: Oh, yeah, so I did set up a picnic for Brady and Arianna and forget that stuff, and I wasn't stalking you or Stephanie.

Nathan: Yeah, I know. We're sorry, just you caught us by surprise.

Melanie: It's fine. At least now I don't have to tell Maggie I lost her bowl and her spoon.

Nathan: Yeah. [Chuckles] See you later.

Melanie: Bye, Nathan.

Philip: Hey, baby, you coming back to bed or what, 'cause I'm ready to...

Lexie: No. Your mother wouldn't have shown any symptoms. And although she had been successfully treated for aneurysms in the past, she knew she was at risk.

Chad: She never said anything to me.

Lexie: She probably didn't want you to worry.

Chad: So why was she having these-these things?

Lexie: [Sigh] Well, um... there are many factors that can contribute to aneurysms. But what I want you to remember is that you were not the cause.

Chad: Thanks.

Lexie: You're welcome.

Stefano: Your mother loved you very much.

Chad: Really? I don't need to hear this, okay? Not from you. My mother hated you.

Stefano: Yes, I'll admit we did have some bad feelings between each other. But I'm sorry for that. But she was a good woman, and she loved you.

Kate: Let him go.

Stefano: [Sigh] That young man is--

Kate: He's hurting. And he's going to for a very long time.

Stefano: Well. Ah... what a tragedy. Well, one thing can be said. The final curtain has come down on our relationship with Madeline.

Kate: The final curtain. I don't think so.

Hope: You think you could make some coffee?

Bo: Yeah, sure. No problem.

Hope: Great. You thought you could make me weak and get the upper hand, didn't you? Stupid fool. Ah, I might as well use these. Just enough. After tonight, no more games, no more manipulations... because my job will be finished. And so will you.

Adrienne: Trust me. Nathan is fully aware of the statement he's making by moving in with you.

Stephanie: I hope so. What am I saying? I know so, I can see it in his eyes.

Adrienne: You're entering a whole new phase of your life, sweetheart. Let the happiness begin.

Stephanie: [Giggles] Finally.

Adrienne: Mm-hmm.

Kate: Are you gonna be all right?

Chad: You mean am I gonna make it through the day? Guess so.

Kate: You should really be with your father.

Chad: Why? So he can yell at me some more? I mean, the guy told me he never wanted to see me again.

Kate: I know. But he's hurting too, so he lashed out at you. And he may not say it, but he needs you too.

Chad: My father blames me for mom's death, and you know, I don't care what the doctor says. Maybe he's right. Maybe I did kill her.

Daniel: Mm. I just thought of something.

Chloe: What?

Daniel: [Chuckles] You know, if Father Matt decided to be such a stick in the mud, maybe we should talk to a different priest. Maybe we can go to Saint Michael's. I mean, Saint Michael's is a beautiful church. Or we could just call Kevin, my friend who's a justice of the peace, and have him...

Chloe: Um, no.

Daniel: But then we can get married ASAP, right?

Chloe: We can't do that.

Daniel: Why not?

Chloe: Because I don't want to.

Daniel: Yeah, but if Father Matt's not gonna let you--

Chloe: I don't care what Father Matt said, okay? Let's just wait, like, a month or so.

Daniel: Baby... baby, you're pregnant. And pretty soon, people are gonna know, so we're gonna have to--we're gonna wanna tell them. I just think it's better that we get married right away.

Chloe: No. Absolutely not.

Bo: Okay, here we go. Gotta be very careful, it's hot.

Hope: Just the way I like it.

[Phone rings]

Bo: [Sighs] I'm sorry. Oh, it's Roman, I gotta give him a quick call.

Hope: No worries. I'll fix the coffee.

Bo: All right, thanks.

Hope: Sure.

Philip: So what are you doing here, Nathan?

Nathan: I, uh... [Sighs]

Melanie: The bowl that I forgot at the picnic, he brought it by, he found it.

Philip: Oh.

Nathan: You know, I've obviously interrupted something, so...

Philip: Don't worry about it.

Nathan: Mm.

Philip: You coming to bed, Mel?

Melanie: Yeah.

Nathan: Hmm.

Melanie: [Clears throat] Good night, Nathan.

Nathan: Good night.

[Door opens]

Kate: Chad, a brain aneurysm isn't caused by falling. It takes a long time to develop. So you didn't kill your mother. And unfortunately, you just can't listen to your father right now because he's not thinking clearly.

Chad: Look, I get the medical stuff, okay? I'm just not sure I'll ever believe that she didn't die because of me. And I know--I know he'll never believe it.

Kate: Give him time. He's still your father.

Chad: It's funny... he's never acted like it.

Kate: [Sigh] I wonder why.

Chloe: Daniel, please wait.

Daniel: For what? So you can give me a brand-new reason why we shouldn't get married? Yeah, you know what? Yeah, I have to get married to you before I leave the hospital. No, no, no, I can't, I can't. Wait, we can't do that. Yes, yes, I want Father Matt to marry us. No, no, no, no, I can't do that. He and I--we're not really seeing eye-to-eye. I mean, what? I'm going crazy here.

Chloe: It'll all work out later, just like you said.

Daniel: Yeah? You know what I think? We're gonna have a baby, and you say you love me--you say it, I hear you--but you don't wanna marry me.

Chloe: No, that's not true. I do!

Daniel: You do? Then why not now? Why not? Huh? Why not? How about--you know what we could do, baby? We could fly to Vegas. It'll be crazy, it'll be fun. And what's gonna be your excuse then? Honey, honey, wh--what? What are you so conflicted about?

Chloe: Daniel, I wish I could explain it to you, but I just can't.

Daniel: You-- [Sighs]

[Door slams]

Chloe: [Crying]

Hope: Ah, perfect. Odorless.

Bo: Hey, sorry about that. Roman's a little shorthanded tonight.

Hope: No problem. I fixed your coffee.

Bo: Oh.

Hope: Just the way you like it.

Bo: Thanks. You know, I meant what I said. I care about you, I always will. That's why I'm worried about what's going on with you.

Hope: No need to. But I appreciate it. I really do. How's your coffee?

On the next “Days of our Lives” --

Nicole: I am going to blackmail you until the end of time.

Sami: He loves me!

Hope: You betrayed me.
