Nathan: Excuse me, bartender.
Stephanie: Actually, I've quit drinking.
Melanie: Yay. My wonderful, perfect husband is making dinner.
Philip: Chicken piccata.
Melanie: My favorite.
Philip: That's the idea.
Melanie: [Laughs] I am so lucky to have you... and be in this marriage with a husband who loves me and cares about me.
Philip: And that makes you sad?
Melanie: Um, no. No, it doesn't. It makes me happy. It's just...
Melanie: I can't stop thinking about Chloe and my father. You know, like, we have so much. We trust each other, and we love each other, and we understand each other. And--and their relationship, um, just--I'm worried about it, 'cause I think it's falling apart.
Daniel: [Clears throat]
Chloe: [Sighs] I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted.
Daniel: Wait, wait, wait.
Chloe: Daniel, I just want to go to sleep.
Daniel: What, without talking? Without sorting this thing through?
Chloe: We just spent the last hour trying to talk. I think I'm all talked out.
Daniel: Okay. Okay, great. So the therapy session we just came back from was a total bust, is that what you're saying?
Chloe: No. I-it's just--it didn't do me any good. I feel worse, actually.
Daniel: You feel-- all right, Chloe, I-I don't-- I don't get it, all right? You're--obviously, you're suffering. I can feel it. But I am at a loss here, complete loss. The therapy didn't help. You're not opening up to me. You're not. [Sighs] Come on. Look, what--what can I do? How can I get us back on track? How can I make you feel better, huh? How can I fix this?
Chloe: You can't.
Brady: Nicole, what--what in the heck--
Nicole: Uh, I need to talk to you.
Brady: You know, I-I thought I'd made myself clear at Java that--
Nicole: It's about Arianna.
Brady: What about Arianna?
Nicole: Well, I called her to talk to her about work, and she just--she seemed angry and upset.
Brady: Well, you're not exactly her favorite person. I don't know if you knew that.
Nicole: I-I know. I know that. But she hung up on me. She just seemed on edge, more than usual.
Brady: Nicole, it's--it's because we had an argument.
Nicole: Oh. I'm sorry.
Brady: It's okay. She's not returning my calls. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna call her back, and then I'm gonna go and try to see her. So excuse me.
Nicole: Arianna is tucked in bed all alone without an alibi, so get that evidence planted on a victim--any victim--tonight.
Brady: [Sighs] That's it. I got to get out of here.
Brady: Oh, sorry.
Nicole: Ah, my knee. Ah.
Arianna: Oh, god, why is it so hot in here? [Sighs] This is ridiculous. I'm not gonna sleep until I settle things with Brady.
Roman: [Exhaling rapidly]
Arianna: What was that?
Hope: I'll do the rest.
Nicole: The police are finally gonna find that woman who's been terrorizing the men of Salem, and that woman is going to be Arianna Hernandez-- incontrovertible evidence of her guilt.
[Cell phone vibrating]
Hope: [Sighs] Come on, come on, come on. [Sighs] Bad timing, Carly. I'll have to call you back.
Carly: Hey, Hope, it's Carly. Um, look, a package came to the house for Ciara. Uh, you can come by and pick it up, obviously, or I can drop it off tomorrow on the way to the hospital. Just let me know.
Hope: What the hell are you doing?
Brady: Oh, God, are you all right?
Nicole: Oh, no. Ooh.
Brady: Are--are you hurt?
Nicole: Y--it's--it's my knee. Uh, it--I got hurt in prison. I kind of got into it with Large Marge, so it's never been the same. It just kind of gives out.
Brady: Right. Um, have you had it checked out, or what's going on?
Nicole: No, I haven't. But, uh, it's--it's--it's no big deal. I'm--I'm--I'm fine.
Brady: Can you walk?
Nicole: Uh, well...
Brady: Can you walk?
Brady: I guess not.
Brady: That's not good.
Nicole: It's--it's not serious, I'm sure.
Brady: All right.
Nicole: So, um... well, why don't we hit the road, huh?
Brady: I don't--what--um, I'm going to see Ari right now.
Nicole: I know. I'm coming with you.
Hope: Answer me. What are you doing? What are you doing with gloves on?
Baker: What does it look like I'm doing? I'm trying to find his--his wallet. And, you know, you can't be too careful.
Hope: Hurry it up.
Arianna: [Gasps] Oh, God.
Caroline: Oho. Ho-ho.
Caroline: Arianna, you were the noise that I heard, I guess.
Arianna: I'm sorry, Mrs. Brady.
Caroline: It's all right. You all right?
Arianna: Yeah. Yeah, I'm--I'm fine. Yeah.
Caroline: Oh, you look pale. You're out of breath. Where have you been?
Hope: Get out of here. Let's go.
Carly: Oh, God. Oh, gosh, Roman, can you hear me? [Sighs] I need an ambulance at the Brady pub. Commander Roman Brady's been attacked.
Man: Here you go.
Nathan: Thanks. So you stopped drinking for, like, good?
Stephanie: Oh, no, no. Uh, I was dehydrated earlier, just had a bit of a headache, so...
Nathan: You're not coming down with something, are you?
Stephanie: No, not at all. Just enjoying my O.J. And more importantly, I'm enjoying my time with you...
Stephanie: Because there is no other guy that I'd rather be with, ever.
Nathan: Well, I feel the same way.
Philip: I-I thought you said Daniel and Chloe were working things out. What happened?
Melanie: Um... uh, I like Chloe. You know, she's always been relatively nice to me. But she is sometimes unstable. You know, not that I really have any room to talk, 'cause I'm always doubting myself. So I would never think that--
Philip: What are you get-- what are you getting at?
Melanie: Um, okay, Chloe, like I said, she's beautiful, and she's talented, um, but she's also a little bit--mm-- high maintenance, you know, and--and... um...
Philip: Agh. Finish your sentences, please.
Melanie: Okay, sorry. Um, I don't think Chloe's right for my dad.
Daniel: Well, I guess I'm delusional.
Chloe: What--why would you say that?
Daniel: No, I thought the-- you know, the therapy was helpful. I thought that we were making some progress, that Dr. Gilbert came up with some important ideas, some important things for us to work on, some good ideas to get us back on track. But you know what? Obviously, I'm wrong. I am dead wrong on this.
Chloe: No, I'm not saying that the therapy was a bad thing. It was helpful in some ways. It just...
Daniel: What? What? It just what?
Chloe: It wasn't enough.
Daniel: Well, then we'll go again. We'll just go back.
Chloe: No. You know what? I don't want to go. The way that therapist was looking at me like I was nuts.
Daniel: What? Come on, Chloe, that--that's just not true.
Chloe: No, yeah, she was judging me, all right? She tried to hide it, but I could see it in her eyes and hear it in her voice. And she was thinking, "What's this great guy doing with this crazy girl? I mean, how the hell did that happen?"
Daniel: Mm-mm. No, this is becoming a pattern now. You're thinking that people don't respect you, that people think you're a nut or whatever-- that you don't deserve me? Come on, that is not true. You are a beautiful, smart, charming person. And the only nutty thing that's here is you don't know it. You don't know that. You don't know how lovely-- completely lovely and lovable you are.
Chloe: [Scoffs] I guess I don't.
Daniel: Hey, this wasn't just for you. The therapy was for both of us, 'cause I definitely need some guidance here too. Okay? Because as I've said, obviously, I just--I wasn't sensitive enough, I didn't care enough-- I don't know what it was. But I didn't see how bad things were for you. I didn't know. And I should've known how much pain you were in and that you were hiding something. I didn't know.
Chloe: Yeah. I was. And I am. And I'm... I'm just scared that you're never gonna forgive me after you find out what I've done.
Hope: How much did the commander have on him?
Baker: A whopping 60 bucks, give or take.
Hope: Hmm. I figured as much.
Baker: Hey. Hey, hey. What--how about me?
Hope: And what about you?
Baker: Uh, money. If this is your idea of a good score, next time I should just knock over a kid selling Girl Scout cookies.
Hope: Let's get something straight here, okay? You don't get to question what we're doing.
Baker: You know what? I'm getting sick of you and your rules. Who the hell are you treating me like some slave?
Hope: Keep your voice down.
Baker: You know, I'm sick of it. It's over. Do you understand? From now on, I'm calling the shots.
Carly: Hey, Roman, can you hear me?
Brady: Oh, my God. What--
Carly: I found him like this. I called an ambulance.
Brady: Oh, God, not again. Roman. He's breathing. Roman!
Caroline: Oh, my God!
Arianna: Oh, my God.
Caroline: Roman. Roman. Who did this to him?
Nicole: Damn it, she has an alibi. (Quiet muttering)
Philip: You know, about this, uh, Chloe and Daniel thing, what do you--what do you mean when you say that they're not gonna work out?
Melanie: Um, okay. Look, I know that there's a part of Chloe that's really nice, but there's this other part of her that's kind of like a high-octane drama queen... a little. I just--I don't know if that's what I want for my dad. You know? Um, and Chloe doesn't have the best track record... with Lucas and Brady. I don't-- [Chuckles nervously] I, um... look, I-I just want what's best for my dad, you know. You understand, right? I don't... what are you thinking?
Philip: Well, you--you know, I-I like Daniel...
Philip: A lot. You know, and I know he's your father, so I don't want to say anything negative. But, you know, since we're being honest here, it's--he's not exactly the most moral guy either, you know?
Melanie: I didn't say that.
Philip: No, you know, you treat him like he's a paragon of virtue. "A man of substance"-- that was your words.
Melanie: Whoo. Okay, I don't think that we can really talk about this, because Chloe is your friend, and Daniel is my father. So all it's gonna do is cause a fight, and I really don't want that.
Philip: Me neither.
Melanie: Okay. Besides, who are we to throw stones, you know? God knows we're not exactly perfect. So agree to disagree.
Daniel: How can I forgive you... when you won't forgive yourself? This is not about blame. You know what it's about? It's about connecting, communicating, understanding-- really understanding each other and their needs... and taking things just one step at a time. Please, look at me. No, no, no. Don't say a word... okay? Everything just needs to be out in the open. Hey, if you are feeling insecure, lost, alone, you don't need to act out. You don't. And you do not need to beat yourself up, okay? Baby, all you have to do is you come to me, and we will talk about it... okay? And together, we can get through this--through anything. I promise you... okay? Okay. Come on. Hey.
Jenkins: Everybody back, please. Please.
Carly: I'm--I'm Dr. Manning. I was the first to find Commander Brady.
Jenkins: Can you, uh--can you tell me what happened?
Carly: Uh, blunt-force trauma to the back of the head, no other injuries.
Caroline: Oh, Abe, thank God you're here.
Jenkins: Did you see anything?
Carly: Um, yeah, a-a woman was fleeing the scene. She was small. Her hair was pulled back. But it was dark, so...
Brady: What is going on?
Arianna: I-I don't know. I mean, I-I was, uh, in my bed. I-I heard this noise. I-I came downstairs, and then Mrs. Brady came down right after.
Nicole: So she doesn't have an alibi.
Jenkins: Look, we're taking Commander Brady down to the hospital. So I would appreciate it if anybody who was here, if they could accompany us, so we can get sworn statements.
Abe: Uh, listen, I'll give the two of you a lift, all right?
Caroline: Oh, thank you, Abe.
Abe: This way. Let's go.
Nicole: Uh, so are you going to the hospital?
Brady: Uh, yeah, yeah, in a bit. I got to--I'm gonna talk to Arianna for a minute, though, before.
Nicole: My plan is working perfectly so far.
Nathan: All right, hey, double or nothing on that eight ball.
Stephanie: You're on. I want my money in an offshore account.
Nathan: You are one shrewd player. Come here.
Melanie: Well, you can say that again.
Arianna: [Mumbles] I just want you to know I--that I was gonna call you--I was. And I heard that noise, and I--
Brady: It's okay. It's all right. Um... I'm really sorry that we fought.
Arianna: I'm really sorry too.
Brady: I just really need you to believe me when I tell you that Nicole is my past, and... I love you so much.
Arianna: I believe you. I really do. It's just...
Brady: It's just--there's no "just."
Arianna: It's when I see you with her and I see that she just, like, still wants to be a part of your life and those-- you know, those feelings-- insecure feelings, I can't-- I can't, like, suppress them.
Arianna: I'm sorry. This is, like, not what's important right now. We need to--we need to go.
Brady: We do need to go. Okay.
Arianna: Yes, the muggings-- it's what's important.
Brady: I know. I don't know why the Salem P.D. can't solve this damn case.
Arianna: I don't either. I mean, why is this happening? Who would be doing this?
Brady: [Sighs] Let's--let's go.
Arianna: Oh, my God.
Hope: I have my reasons for rolling the people that I roll. And my reasons are the only one that count.
Baker: Great. Great. I wish I never laid eyes on you.
Hope: I can see you need more of an incentive. Okay, here it is. If there's money to be had, it's yours--all of it, every penny. Fair enough?
Baker: Depends on the target.
Hope: Stop your whining, would you?
Baker: [Sighs] Who's next, lady?
Carly: I'm gonna see what I can do. Are you gonna be okay here?
Caroline: Yeah, sure.
Abe: Officer Jenkins, look, can I have a word with you?
Abe: Thank you.
Nicole: I'm sorry for your loss.
Caroline: Loss? [Sighs] My son is not dead!
Nicole: Right. I'm sorry. I'm--I'm gonna go.
Caroline: Uh, Nicole, w-wait. Wait. Wait. [Sighs] How about we clear the air... right here, right now?
Caroline: I despise you for what you did to Sami. It was evil. But I heard about-- you were wanting to do an expose about the Brady pub.
Nicole: Only with your blessing, Mrs. Brady.
Caroline: Well, I-I appreciate the idea, but I would rather that you do an expose on whoever it is that's causing these horrible muggings.
Nicole: I'll see what I can do.
Caroline: All right.
Nicole: Excuse me.
[Cell phone rings]
Baker: Hmm. Nicole, you can't keep away from me, can you?
Nicole: You stupid bloody idiot.
Baker: Would you please stop shrieking in my ear?
Nicole: I know you had a target, but I didn't think it would be Roman Brady.
Baker: Not my idea.
Nicole: Well, at least you did what you said you'd do. I saw the flashlight being bagged. I can only assume that the other DNA evidence was left there.
Nicole: Excellent. [Chuckles] It's all going my way.
Baker: [Sighs] Who knows? If I play this right, little wad becomes big wad--enough to leave town.
Carly: Hey, um, sorry, he's still unconscious.
Caroline: Oh, please, tell me my son's gonna be all right.
Carly: I'm sure he's gonna be fine. His--his injuries weren't serious, thank God.
Carly: Have you, uh, called Bo to let him know?
Caroline: No, I haven't. I-I-I didn't want to worry him when he's so far away.
Carly: I understand.
Caroline: Yes, but I better call the children. I better call Sami and Carrie and Eric. Uh, I'll be back. And if anything happens--
Carly: I will let you know, of course.
Caroline: Okay, thank you, dear. Okay.
Nicole: Hey, Carly. How's he doing?
Carly: Uh, I can't comment to the press. I'm sorry.
Brady: Hey, what's going on?
Nicole: I don't know. Carly wouldn't tell me.
Brady: All right, I'm gonna-- I'm gonna try to find out what's going on.
Nicole: So where were you?
Arianna: What? What do you mean where was I?
Nicole: When Roman went down.
Daniel: Feeling better?
Chloe: A little.
Daniel: Little, huh? We have talked so much to each other, to a therapist, and honestly, I'm kind of tired of analyzing things... okay? But I am gonna say one last thing to you. I am here for you... always.
Chloe: I know that.
Philip: She, uh, hustle you? She talk you into playing pool against her?
Nathan: Yeah. Little did I know.
Stephanie: Poor Nathan--he owes me, like, ten large after our last round.
Philip: Sounds like you need a drink, man. I'll buy us all a round.
Nathan: Thanks. I'll help you.
Stephanie: Um, no beer, remember? Just ginger ale. That'll be fine.
Nathan: I know.
Melanie: Ginger ale, huh?
Stephanie: Don't start with me, Melanie.
Melanie: Gosh, I wonder why you'd be avoiding alcohol, unless it's for the baby's sake.
Stephanie: There is no baby. And I would appreciate it if you'd keep your mouth shut.
Melanie: What did you tell Nathan? I mean, how did you explain that, all of the sudden, you're a prissy little teetotaler?
Stephanie: [Scoffs] Wow.
Philip: Two beers, please.
Philip: So Stephanie's not drinking, huh?
Nathan: Yeah, she's got a headache.
Nathan: Uh, all right. Philip, I, uh--I owe you an apology.
Philip: For what?
Nathan: Well, the way I've been--the way I've been around your wife lately. Look, I'm not dying to get into this, and I'm sure you're not either. I just wanted to, uh, thank you for understanding. You know, uh, not that there's any excuse for what I did, but I can assure you, it's-- we're beyond it, and it'll never happen again. Hey, you really are the bigger man here, Philip.
Stephanie: We are not going there, okay? You're gonna keep your little troublemaking mouth shut.
Melanie: I'm the troublemaker? Let's see, I'm not the one that threw away my birth-control pill so that I could trick my boyfriend into having a baby with me so that I could--
Stephanie: Okay, all right. Shh. How about this? If I promise not to interfere with your life just like I did with that whole letter episode...
Stephanie: Will you do the same? Will you stay the hell out of mine?
Melanie: Sure. No problem.
Arianna: Why would you even ask me that? I was in my bedroom when Roman was attacked.
Nicole: Well, Brady and I tried to get ahold of you tonight, but you weren't picking up your cell.
Arianna: I told you I was turning it off, remember?
Nicole: Which is why I went to the Kiriakis mansion.
Arianna: You what?
Nicole: I needed to talk to you, and you hung up on me, so I figured if I went--
Arianna: You figured you would do what you were just born to do and cause trouble, right? You live for that? You like to stir things up?
Brady: Uh... what's going on?
Nicole: Ask your angry girlfriend. [Scoffs]
Roman: Mm. Oh.
Roman: Oh. Huh. [Mumbles]
Caroline: Thank god.
Roman: Hey, I'm fine. I'm--I'm okay, so don't worry. Oh, man, my... head.
Carly: Oh, Roman, I'm sorry you're in such pain.
Roman: Ah. Hey, Dr. Manning. It's really not that bad, actually. It's just... it just feels like I was hit on the head.
Carly: Well, you were-- nothing serious, but we're gonna keep you here for observation and run some tests, okay?
Caroline: And I'm staying too.
Roman: No, Mom. No, you are not. You're gonna go home, and you are gonna get some rest.
Roman: I mean it, Mom. You're just gonna upset me if you don't listen to me. I'm gonna be fine.
Roman: So, please. Dr. Manning, could you make sure my stubborn mother here gets out of this room and goes home?
Carly: Of course.
Caroline: I love you, Roman. I'm so relieved.
Roman: I love you too, Ma. Now, like I said, get some rest. Damn it, partner. I want to know who did this.
Abe: We're close.
Roman: How close?
Abe: The perp got sloppy, left evidence behind. I think we're finally gonna trap them.
Hope: I'm getting so close... so close to my ultimate target.
Chloe: You know what? No, um, stop.
Melanie: Hi. Ouch.
Nathan: You okay?
Melanie: Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine. I'm good. I just wanted some air. I'm fine.
Nathan: [Chuckles] You're a terrible liar.
Nathan: If you were fine, you wouldn't have said it ten times.
Melanie: [Laughs] That's probably true.
Nathan: Probably. So what's up?
Melanie: It is not something that I can talk about.
Nathan: Mm. Well, you know, when you say something like that, I'm going to keep asking until you tell me. Come on. What's going on?
Melanie: I've been thinking about Chloe and my dad. And I don't think that she's the right woman for him. What do you think?
Nathan: I think... [Clears throat] That she's all--all wrong for him.
Philip: Bartender, give me another one.
Stephanie: Someone's in a mood again.
Philip: Uh, don't worry about it. It's nothing.
Stephanie: Come on, Philip. I know you... probably better than you know yourself.
Philip: Really? Is that so?
Stephanie: Yeah. I just got this feeling-- same one I got a few days ago when I saw you--that, I don't know, you just seem like you're kind of guilty about something.
Philip: Yeah. Yeah, I am guilty... of thinking you're seriously annoying me right now.
Stephanie: Okay. All right. Let's not do that. Philip, just tell me what you did.
Roman: So what? So you're saying we got her?
Abe: Well, Carly scared her off. But she left some of her gear, so we have evidence now.
[Cell phone ringing] Well, the lab reports are in. This could be it.
Roman: All right. Let me know.
Abe: You'll be the first.
Roman: All right, partner.
Arianna: You just don't know when to leave it alone, do you?
Nicole: I'm a reporter. It's what I do. It's why they let me do what I do. Look, I-I-I like to watch, observe, and then put the pieces of the puzzle--
Brady: All right, come on.
Arianna: This story isn't for you, so back off!
Brady: All right, here we go. Really?
Nicole: Okay, I am sorry if I offended you, Arianna. I'm just saying that Brady was concerned because he didn't hear from you. It was--it was, like, I don't know, you seemed M.I.A.
Arianna: I was asleep, you idiot.
Brady: All right, stop! Come on. Come on. Stop it.
Brady: Stop it.
Arianna: [Sighs] How's roman?
Brady: Roman is awake, but he's woozy.
Brady: Does he remember anything?
Abe: No. No, not yet.
Nicole: Was there any evidence other than the mark?
Abe: Yes. This time we have DNA evidence, along with the flashlight that was used during the attack. So it's only a matter of time now.
Philip: What? I haven't done anything. What are you talking about?
Stephanie: Not buying it.
Philip: Oh, right, I forgot. You know me better than I know myself.
Stephanie: I know that look, and I'm pretty convinced something's going on.
Melanie: Nathan... why do you think Chloe's all wrong for my dad?
Chloe: Daniel can never find out that we slept together, okay? It--it would be the end of us-- well, the end of me. Um, we'll talk later, okay? Bye.
Melanie: Hey. You know something, don't you?
Daniel: Why did you just say "stop"? What is it?
Chloe: Um... it's nothing.
Daniel: Don't... don't lie to me. We just talked about being open and honest.
Chloe: Just hold me, okay?
Daniel: No. No, not until you tell me what the hell is going on.
Carly: You sure you're gonna be okay?
Caroline: Oh, sure, sure, now that I know my son is recovering.
Carly: Um, can we talk?
Caroline: I don't know what there is to talk about.
Carly: I just wanted to tell you that, um, Bo and I are happy together. And I-I had a conversation with hope recently, and she seems to have come to terms with what happened between them. She says she doesn't blame me any longer.
Caroline: Oh. So who does she blame--Bo?
Carly: All I know is that she doesn't seem that angry anymore.
Caroline: Of course she's angry. She's not blaming you. She's blaming Bo. So now my son is evil, right? Ha.
Hope: Poor Bo... he's not gonna know what hit him.
Abe: Thank you. The lab results are in. This is the break we've been looking for.
Brady: Well, the, uh--the prints on the flashlight-- do we know who it is?
Abe: Arianna Hernandez.
Melanie: I'll find out myself.
Stephanie: What are you doing? Are you crazy?
Melanie: I'm not crazy!
Chloe: As long as you don't find out I slept with Philip.
Abe: Can anyone give you an alibi?Back to The TV MegaSite's Days Of Our Lives Site
