Vivian: Now, remember the plan. If someone else asks you--

Gus: Tell them I'm your wedding coordinator. I heard you the first time, Madame.

Vivian: Don't get snippy with me.

Gus: I've told you how I feel about this.

Vivian: I told you, I don't want to hear about it anymore. When did you become such a naysayer? Carly Manning is a menace to society and the bane of my existence. If I can get Danielís little songbird to eliminate her, sheer genius.

Chloe: I should have known. I should have known that you would never-- I've ruined everything.

Daniel: Hey. What? What? What do you mean you've ruined everything?

Melanie: You're still mad at me. I understand that.

Philip: Melanie--

Melanie: But please just-- just hear me out. Just--you... you just have to know how much I love you, and how I just-- I wanna be worthy of you.

Philip: I just wish I knew before I...

Melanie: Before what?

Philip: Melanie, I--

Melanie: Oh, my God. I'm too late, huh?

Sami: I will deal with EJ and figure out what the hell is going on.

Will: Mom, wait!

Hope: Went well.

Dr. Baker: No. No, it didnít. It didnít. He knows me. He knows what I've done. And if he wakes up--

Hope: Well, maybe we need to make sure he doesnít.

Dr. Baker: What are you, insane? You're talking about killing a DiMera.

Hope: I'm not just talking.

Philip: What do you mean you're too late?

Melanie: I mean, I waited too long to come to my senses. I should've realized the second you asked me to marry you, that you were the best thing that ever happened to me. But I didn't realize it, and then I blew it. And now you donít... you don't want me anymore.

Philip: What? Why would you think that?

Melanie: Because of Nathan. Why else?

Chloe: Hey, you're awake.

Daniel: Not fully, but... I'm getting there.

Chloe: And you're okay? Your vision's back to normal?

Daniel: For now. We'll know more in a few days.

Chloe: I'm so glad that you had it done. The surgery.

Daniel: I'm so glad you're here. But you still didn't tell me what you were talking about. You said you ruined everything. What did that mean?

Dr. Baker: Stop! You can't do this.

Hope: You're right. But you can.

Vivian: Would you like a drink, Gus?

Gus: You know I don't drink Madame.

Vivian: Well, it's never too late to start. Is it?

Gus: I don't understand why you have to destroy Miss Lane's life in order to get to Carly Manning.

Vivian: Oh, Gus, we've been over this and over this. I can't go directly to Carly, so I made Chloe think that Carly and Daniel were sleeping together. And if my little plan works, Chloe will want to retaliate. Which means I don't have to spend all my precious time trying to make Carly miserable. Chloe will do it for me.

Chloe: I didn't see you there.

Carly: I'm glad you're here. Daniel's been anxious to reach you and tell you how the surgery went.

Daniel: Yeah.

Chloe: Yeah, I don't understand. When did all this happen?

Carly: Uh, we finished the procedure about an hour ago.

Daniel: Yeah. I didn't want you to worry. I didn't tell you the surgery I was going into tonight was my own because it... all right, look, I didn't-- we didn't wanna tell you till it was over. Until we could assume that it would most likely fix my problem.

Chloe: Oh, I see. You didn't want me to get my hopes up?

Daniel: That's exactly right. Carly arranged for a specialist to come in and do the surgery earlier. She actually assisted. You got my message? You did know I was at the hospital?

Chloe: Yeah, I-- I mean, I got your message and I thought I understood it, but I guess not. And now... Oh, God, what have I done?

Daniel: When? What have you done? What are you... Chloe, what are you talking about? What have you done?

Melanie: You're gonna leave me now, huh? 'Cause what I told you about Nathan, because of how I used to feel about him.

Philip: Is that what you think? That I would leave you?

Melanie: I really--I don't know what to think. I wouldn't blame you... if you didn't want me to be your wife anymore. I was unfaithful to you. And my heart, it... I've been beating myself up over this ever since I realized that you're the only one I wanna be with.

Philip: Mel, look--

Melanie: I mean, God, it is-- it is one thing to write Nathan a letter before our wedding...

Philip: Look, look, please--

Melanie: But then to harbor all these--these unresolved feelings for him. After--after we said our vows in front of God, in front of everybody about how we're supposed to love each other for the rest of lives, I wouldn't blame you if you didn't even-- if you didn't want me to be you wife anymore.

Philip: Look, just--please--

Melanie: Okay, look, look, um... I know--I know that I wasn't unfaithful to you physically, because that would be unforgivable.

Philip: Yeah.

Melanie: I mean, he did kiss me. I don't--I shouldn't say that again. I don't know why I keep bringing that up. I guess I feel if I keep telling you--if I keep telling you about it that I'll feel less guilty somehow, but it's not--it's not working.

Philip: Stop, stop, please. Just stop.

Melanie: I'm sorry.

Philip: Don't be. Don't--don't be. It's--it's-- you've done nothing wrong.

Melanie: Are--are you kidding? I've been awful... and you've been so wonderful.

Philip: That's not true.

Melanie: Not true?

Philip: I made a huge mistake.

Sami: Oh, sweetheart, I know you had a bad dream. I'm so sorry. I know how scary that can be. But you know what? Mommy's here with you, and your big brother, Will is here with you.

Johnny: I want my daddy.

Sami: How did I know you were gonna say that?

Will: He cried for his dad the moment he woke up. I tried to calm him down but...

Sami: You did a great job. Don't worry about it. Johnny, you know what? You got to spend the night with your daddy last night. And tonight it's Mommy's turn.

Johnny: I want my daddy now.

Dr. Baker: What are you, crazy? You expect me to off EJ DiMera?

Hope: But you just said yourself, he saw you. I mean, that's what you've done, so here. Here's your opportunity to get rid of the threat once and for all. So go for it. For yourself.

Baker: He's waking up.

Hope: Can't have that. Ugh! Well, that's taken care of.

Chloe: The message you left, it got cut off. I didn't get that it was you who was being operated on.

Daniel: I know, because I wasn't clear. And as I said, I didn't want you to know. I mean, what if this thing didn't work out?

Chloe: Still, I... I feel terrible now.

Daniel: Why? Why?

Chloe: Because I wasn't here. I should have been here, Daniel, and I wasnít.

Daniel: Honey--honey-- honey, it is okay, all right? I'm sorry. Not because you weren't here during the surgery, all right? There would have been no point in that. I do not want you waiting around and worrying about me. Okay? Okay? Hey, what I'm sorry about is the fight we had.

Chloe: Me too. More than you know.

Daniel: No, no, honey, but I am the one, okay? I am the one who said some very hurtful things. Baby, I didn't mean them. I just... I overreacted about everything. Okay? And I can see now, you know what it was, it was just stress. Baby, it was just stress. Okay? And now all things are good. It's all good. Right? Honey, come--give me a hug. Come on. I love you so much. I said something-- it's okay. Hey, come on, look... hey, no more tears, okay? No more guilt. You are here with me. Right now, okay?

Chloe: Yeah, I'm here now.

Daniel: You are. You are right here with me. Come on.

Carly: Excuse me, um... I don't mean to interrupt. I have to examine Daniel. I'm sorry. It won't take more than a few minutes.

Chloe: No, it's okay. I'll just--I'll wait right outside.

Daniel: I got a tear on my cheek. Hey. Hey, everything is great. Really. No more worrying. Okay?

Chloe: Oh, my God. I have to call Philip. Explain to him what happened before he blows our secret.

Melanie: I don't follow. What do you mean, you made a mistake?

[Cell phone ringing]

Chloe: Come on, Philip, pick up.

[Cell phone ringing]

Melanie: Your phone.

Philip: Mm-hmm.

Melanie: Don't you need to see who it is?

Will: Asleep?

Sami: For now. Oh, man, it's tough, but I think that, um, Johnny just isn't as comfortable with me as he is with EJ. You know, I think it's hard for him, and he's not happy when he's just with me.

Will: Yeah, I think that Johnny feels that way when he's at EJ's house and you're not around and he misses you.

Sami: I don't think so. I mean, EJ's never had to call me to ask me to help him with Johnny. It's all right. It's just a phase he's going through. I mean, I get it. I just, um, you know, have to deal with it.

Will: I think that what's upsetting Johnny is the back and forth. Like you said, he doesn't prefer EJ to you.

Sami: The back and forth is hard. It's hard for Sydney too, and she can't even express herself. I mean, she's just a little baby and--and with everything that she's been through, it's hard to be away from her. Maybe if I got to be with her more, maybe she would...

Will: She would what?

Sami: Maybe she would finally call me mama.

Will: I, uh... I didn't realize that she never has.

Sami: She said it one time, but that was before. She hasn't said it since she's been back and, um... well, except for you told me you heard her say it to Nicole. So...

Will: I'm sorry. I should not have said anything.

Sami: No... you had to. I'm glad you told me. It's the truth and, um... and that's how she sees Nicole. And I have--I have to deal with it. It's not about me, it's about Sydney, doing what's best for her. She has to adjust to her new life and... it's just hard, you know? I mean, after everything that little girl has been through.

Will: So what are you saying?

Sami: I think that EJ makes a good point. Whether he's being manipulated by his father or doing it because he cares and he wants to do what's best for his family. He's still right. The shuttling the kids back and forth, it's confusing. It's not working for them. It's not good for them.

Will: There's nothing you can do about it. I mean, itís... you're not gonna move in to the DiMera mansion. You canít.

Sami: I have to do what's best for them.

Will: That's not best for them. Mom, that's a terrible idea.

Dr. Baker: Remind me not to get on your bad side.

Hope: I was testing you. Do what I tell you to and we won't have any problems.

Dr. Baker: He's still breathing. He's gonna need stitches, an MRI for brain trauma, internal hemorrhaging.

Hope: How the hell do you know all that?

Dr. Baker: Because I'm a doctor.

Hope: Doctor? Honestly? What, the gambling a hobby?

Dr. Baker: Yeah. No, it's more than that. I'm just taking a break from medicine.

Hope: A break, right. Whatever. What's the prognosis?

Dr. Baker: That kind of depends on you, doesn't it?

Hope: It is so true. You want something done right, you've always gotta do it yourself, don't you?

Sami: So it's a terrible idea for us to live there, but not for you.

Will: No, that's not the point.

Sami: You just moved there to get away from me.

Will: No, that-- yes, but that's not--

Sami: Will, it's not gonna be as easy to get away from me as you would like.

Will: Okay, let's forget me for a second. How can you live there when you hate the head of the household?

Sami: How do you? Or are you and Stefano BFFs all of the sudden?

Will: No. It's just I don't think it's--

Sami: Just what? It's just that you don't wanna be around me? Will, that is a different conversation, and we are going to talk about that. But right now, I have to figure out what is going on with EJ. So I'm gonna deal with that. Johnny is asleep. He shouldn't wake up again. I'm going to figure out whether EJ's just cooked up some scheme with his dad or whether he really genuinely wants to do what's best for his family. Call me if, um--if the kids wake up, okay? Thanks, Will.

Will: Yeah. See ya.

Gus: Yes. Very well. I'll tell her immediately. Thank you. My sources have informed me that apparently--

Vivian: What? What?

Gus: Ms. Lane has left her apartment and gone to the hospital.

Vivian: Uh, brilliant. She wouldn't go that time of night unless she wanted to give Carly hell.

Gus: Where are you going?

Vivian: I'm going down to the hospital. Carly's going down and I'm going to witness it.

Chloe: Oh, great, voicemail. Philip, hey, it's me. Um, uh, call me as soon as you get this, okay? It's important. Really important. Listen, um, I completely misunderstood what happened. Why are you looking at me like that?

Carly: Like what?

Chloe: Were you listening to the message I was leaving?

Carly: No, but I did hear it was for Philip.

Chloe: Yeah. Because I mean, the reason I--

Carly: You don't have to explain. I know why you're calling him.

Melanie: You don't even wanna see who it is?

Philip: No. Doesn't matter.

Melanie: On the phone?

Philip: No. Doesn't matter.

Melanie: What if it's important?

Philip: Nothing is more important than this: You, us.

Melanie: You're kind of freaking me out, Philip.

Philip: Like I said, I made a huge mistake. Something I'm gonna regret for the rest of my life.

Melanie: Can you tell me what happened please?

Philip: Um, I'll start from the beginning.

Melanie: Okay.

Philip: So I walked in on you and Nathan earlier. Kissing.

Melanie: Oh, my God. I am so sorry. I...

Philip: No, no, but you confessed, you know, before I confronted you. You told me. And you didn't have to. You told me. Your honesty, it means so much to me. And now it's time for me to be honest with you. Completely.

Hope: So you did come back.

Dr. Baker: Forgot my phone. And now I'm gone.

Hope: Anyone ever tell you it's rude to leave without saying good-bye?

Dr. Baker: Look, I'm not gonna do this, you understand? I already dealt with one crazy woman in this town, I don't need another one.

Hope: Too late.

Dr. Baker: You killed DiMera? You killed him? You lunatic bitch!

Hope: Hey! You watch with the name calling, Doc. I don't think you can afford getting me all uncivil.

Sami: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. EJ! EJ, are you okay? EJ, what happened? EJ!

Chloe: You know why I was calling Philip?

Carly: Well, I don't know. I don't know. I just suspect it's to tell Melanie about Danielís surgery. Daniel's been trying to reach her but hasn't been able to. Do you not have Melanieís number?

Chloe: Yeah... no, I don't have it. Um, how is Daniel doing?

Carly: Well, you saw. He's--he's fine. He's great. I expect him to sleep off and on for the rest of the night.

Chloe: Right.

Carly: Just glad that the surgery went well, you know? Everyone here at the hospital's anxious for him to get back to actually performing surgery again.

Chloe: Yeah. Um, look, Carly...

Carly: What?

Chloe: I--I just--I'm still feeling so frustrated. I feel terrible that I didn't have the right information about the surgery, and I misunderstood Danielís message.

Carly: Look, it's okay. You're here now.

Chloe: Yeah, but I just feel like I could've been here to do something.

Carly: Chloe, you're being awfully hard on yourself.

Chloe: If I hadn't been so worried and paranoid, I never would've--

Carly: Would've what?

Chloe: It just--it would've changed everything.

Carly: You're very rattled. I'm not sure why.

Chloe: Um, I... Daniel and I had a fight.

Carly: I know. And I know that he was very sorry that he lost his temper.

Chloe: He told you about it?

Carly: Not in any detail. He would never betray your trust.

Chloe: Um, I need to sit.

Carly: Chloe, what in the world is upsetting you so much?

Chloe: I'm just trying to figure out what happened.

Carly: What happened is that Danielís vision probably most likely is corrected. And that's good news. It's happy news. Look, why don't you go and visit with him. He needs you. And he was so anxious to get in touch with you and tell you about the surgery. We'll talk later.

Chloe: Uh, yeah, okay.

Melanie: What do you need to be honest about? Just say it?

Philip: Um, well, when I saw you kissing Nathan, I took it the wrong way.

Melanie: Of course you did. How could you not? I don't blame you.

Philip: Yeah, but just let me finish, okay? I--I was angry, I was hurt, you know, so I took off. I went to my dad's, I had a few drinks and, uh, I did something really stupid.

Melanie: I know what you did.

Philip: You do?

Melanie: You drove drunk, didn't you? I mean, you got behind a wheel.

Philip: Yeah, but not--

Melanie: Oh, God, all because of what I did to you.

Philip: No, no, it's not your fault.

Melanie: Yes, it is. I mean, what happens if you would've gotten in a car accident or you would've hit somebody, and it would've been my fault? And--I'm just glad... I'm just glad that you're okay, because I donít... I don't know what I would do if I lost you.

Philip: I feel the same way about you. Hey, but look, I still owe you the truth, okay? And...

[Cell phone ringing]

Philip: Your phone.

Melanie: Yeah, it's Carly. I gotta take this. Hello?

Carly: Hi, I just called to give you some good news.

Melanie: Good news?

Carly: Your father had laser surgery on his eyes a little while ago.

Melanie: What?

Carly: Yeah, I called in a specialist to come in and perform the surgery, and I assisted.

Melanie: Uh, how come nobody told me about this?

Carly: He didn't wanna tell you before the fact. He didn't wanna worry you. You know what, he's out of surgery now, and he's doing great. He's in post op.

Melanie: Good. Okay, so you think his double vision is gonna go away?

Carly: Oh, that's what we're hoping.

Melanie: Okay, um, can I see him?

Carly: You know, he's sleeping, or at least he was the last time I saw him. He's on some pretty heavy meds. Chloe's with him now, but, you know, I expect him to be awake at some point tonight, if you wanna come by and see him.

Melanie: I'll be right there.

Carly: Great.

Melanie: Hey, Carly... um, thank you so much for helping my father.

Carly: You don't have to thank me.

Melanie: I'll see you soon.

Carly: Okay, see you soon.

Melanie: I didn't even know he was considering surgery.

Philip: So it was successful? He's got rid of the double vision?

Melanie: Well, um, I mean, Carly didn't know for sure, but it looks good. They're hopeful, which means that maybe Daniel can go back to surgery full time.

Philip: That's great. I know how worried you were.

Melanie: I know. Uh, she said that um, that-- that--that, uh, Chloeís with him right now.

Philip: She is?

Melanie: Yeah, so I need to-- I need to--I need to go see him.

Philip: Chloe... uh, Mel! Wait, I'm going with you.

Dr. Baker: I'm sorry I called you a lunatic, okay? Lady, you don't have to do this.

Hope: But when you think about it, I kinda do, don't I? I don't need you anymore. Not if you're not gonna do what I tell you to. All right, if that's the way you're gonna play it. I have no use for you. You wanna close your eyes? Okay, so here we go. One, two...

Hope: Gotcha.

Dr. Baker: Hmm... who do you think you are, messing with me like this? Huh? Answer me, you little thief.

Sami: EJ-- EJ, you cannot be dead. Oh, my god, EJ, come on! Please, can you hear me? Oh, thank God. Oh, God, EJ.

EJ: Oh, Samantha.

Sami: Are you all right?

EJ: What--whoa--wait a second. What--what happened?

Sami: I have no idea.

EJ: What are you doing?

Sami: I'm gonna-- I'm gonna call.

EJ: You found me here?

Sami: Oh, my God, there's blood--I'm gonna--I'm gonna call and I'm gonna get you some help.

EJ: Ahh! Oh, somebody hit me.

Sami: Did you see them? Do you have any idea who did this to you?

Vivian: Hmm. No, sign of Carly. That's a good sign.

Chloe: You!

Carly: Chloe, if you're looking for Daniel--

Chloe: No, I'm looking for you, you low-life whore.

Carly: I beg your pardon?

Chloe: You stole him from me! You took Daniel, the love of my life!

Carly: Wait a minute!

Chloe: No, I'm done waiting, okay? I've given you enough time, you homicidal psychopath! It's over, Carly. Your life is over!

Carly: Ah!

Melanie: Maxine, ow, hi.

Maxine: Hey, honey.

Melanie: Do you know where my dad is?

Carly: He's in here. Right here.

Melanie: Oh, thank you. Um, thank you so much for everything you've done for him.

Vivian: What the hell is Carly doing here? Why is she still in one piece?

Melanie: Dad.

Daniel: Hey!

Melanie: Oh, hi. How you feeling?

Daniel: Well, I'm doing a little better now that you're here. Yeah! Oh, hey. How are ya? Good?

Dr. Baker: What the hell are you pulling here, lady?

Hope: Messing with you. What, you can't take a joke?

Dr. Baker: Not when it's aimed at my head.

Hope: Oh, for God's sakes, would you lighten up and be a man? Sit down. Sit down. I don't wanna kill anyone. Well, not you. Or that, what's his name, EJ DiMera? Listen it's like I said, we go into partnership we knock guys out and we take their money. It's as simple as that.

Dr. Baker: Okay, look, I don't mind teaming up with you, but you think maybe next time we can pick an easier target?

Hope: Not "we." Never "we." I pick the targets. All the men.

Dr. Baker: Men? Only men?

Hope: They'll get what they deserve.

EJ: Oh!

Sami: Hey, hey, you just stay still, okay? I'm just gonna find my phone.

EJ: Oh, I remember--I remember something. I think--I think I saw someone.

Sami: Oh, my god. Wait, don't worry about it.

EJ: Come on, EJ, just focus. Focus, focus, focus.

Sami: Hey, hey, stop it, okay? Stop trying so hard to remember. You know, you're gonna hurt yourself. Just don't worry about it, all right? We'll worry about it later. I'm gonna find--

EJ: Whoever did this to me, they are gonna pay. Nobody's gonna get away with doing this. Ahh!

Sami: EJ, EJ, stop!

EJ: I'm fine.

Sami: EJ, cut it out.

EJ: Oh, my head.

Melanie: But the surgery worked, right? You're not seeing double?

Daniel: No, not now. No, and we're assuming--or hoping it will stay that way. It's a little early to be that certain.

Melanie: Good, then I'm glad you got it.

Daniel: Yeah, Carly talked me into it. She wouldn't take no for an answer.

Melanie: That sounds about right.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah.

Melanie: But you're doing okay?

Daniel: Yeah, I'm fine. A little sleepy, but... yeah, I'm fine. But my concern is you.

Melanie: Why?

Daniel: You've been crying.

Melanie: Oh, no, my eyes are a little puffy. It's probably...

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, a little. What? What happened? Did something upset you? Hmm? What? What is it?

Maxine: Are you sure everything's all right between you and Miss Lane?

Carly: Sure, don't worry about it, Maxine.

Maxine: Dr. Manning, you must have forgotten I was there. When she, um...

Carly: You mean, when she called me a miserable bitch?

Vivian: Oh, well, all may not be lost after all.

Dr. Baker: Only men, huh?

Hope: You in or not? Take half, I want the wallet.

Dr. Baker: What, as a souvenir?

Hope: Just take the money.

Dr. Baker: Not a bad pay day.

Hope: I'll be in touch.

Sami: Stop it. Hey, don't try to move, okay? You have to stay still.

EJ: Ow!

Sami: Let me find my phone.

EJ: I'm gonna find who ever did this. Oh...

Sami: Okay, don't try to talk. You have to conserve your strength.

EJ: Oh, when I find out... [Speaks indistinctly]

Sami: I can't believe it. I didn't bring my phone. All right, you have a phone. Where's your phone? Hold on--come on. Sit up for a second. All right, let me find your-- let me find your phone. Where is it? Come on, EJ.

EJ: I don't know.

Sami: Okay, so whoever did this to you, they took your phone. And um, that means I'm gonna have to go, all right? So you just promise me you're gonna stay here, you're gonna stay still, EJ. I will go get help, okay? I'll be back as quick as I can.

EJ: Hey... don't go, please. Donít.

Vivian: Huh... rumor has it you wrecked another home. But then you're so adept at it, you could probably do it in your sleep, couldn't you?

Melanie: Okay, fine, yeah, I've been crying.

Daniel: Well, can we talk about it?

Philip: You know, we should give you two some time alone.

Melanie: No, it's-- it's okay. I can say it in front of you. And you too, Chloe, you love my father. It makes you a part of my life. I was just so tired of secrets. Besides, we're all family, right?

Daniel: Yes, we are. Yeah.

Melanie: Okay, um, Philip and I kind of had a fight. Not really a fight--I don't wanna call it a fight. We just, uh-- we just got some things out into the open. And some hurtful things were said.

Chloe: Oh, my god, I am so sorry, okay? Please forgive me.

Hope: Huh... mmm...

Dr. Baker: Thought I was through with DiMeras... but fate had other ideas. Better work fast before that limey bastard wakes up and remembers the last face he saw before the lights went out.

Sami: EJ, I have to go. I'm sorry, but I have to go get help, we don't have our phones. So I have to go call someone. EJ, EJ, can you hear me?

EJ: Yeah. Yeah. My head's jumbled.

Sami: Okay, see.

EJ: It hurts.

Sami: That's why I have to go get help. So you stay here.

EJ: I gotta find the person. I'm gonna find him. I'll find him.

Sami: No. No. EJ, what are you doing? Don't--don't move! Come on, you have to lay back down--you!

Chloe: You need to hear the truth.

Rafe: I know the real reason that EJ wants Sami back.

Sami: You are not gonna die! EJ, you are not dying!
