Victor: You sounded positively grim on the telephone, Bo. What's the problem?
Bo: This revenge fantasy Vivian has against Carly...ends. Now.
Victor: [Chuckles] That's not gonna happen, not until one of them's dead.
Vivian: Drink up!
Melanie: So you wanna know what was in that letter that I wrote to you on my wedding day.
Melanie: Okay. I'll tell you.
Nathan: Great. What was in that letter, Mel?
Melanie: The truth.
EJ: Hmm. Samantha, look. He may be out of your life right now... but you have to know you're not alone.
Nicole: I'm free. They let me out of prison.
Brady: But that's... impossible.
Nicole: He's gonna be so happy, so surprised. And thank you, Anna DiMera.
Brady: Get over here.
Arianna: Stop it, stop it!
Arianna: Here's the deal. You can put your hands anywhere you want... no tickling.
Brady: I'm gonna take you up on that offer. I'm not gonna tickle. I won't tickle.
Brady: Mm. You know what?
Brady: Couple hours...you're gonna be Mrs. Brady Black.
Anna: Oh...thank god. No more Nicole... and no one can touch me now.
Jim: Well...I'm all yours. Whatever the FBI needs, I'm your man, so ask away.
Rafe: All right. Why did you pardon Nicole DiMera? I need an honest answer.
Jim: I...pardoned her because I had no choice.
Rafe: What do you mean, you had no choice?
Jim: Well, I consider myself a man of the people. And if the people want something to happen, and I can make that happen, that's what I have to do.
Rafe: Ah. What are you talking about? What people?
Jim: My constituents. The voters.
Rafe: Oh. So you're saying that the voters wanted you to pardon Nicole DiMera.
Jim: They did.
Rafe: A sick, twisted kidnapper.
Jim: Well, I realize that she committed a crime, but it was a very, very sad story. I mean, this woman lost her baby, and it was the last pregnancy that she could possibly have. It meant so much to her.
Rafe: Well, I know the sob story, Governor. She still kidnapped a child!
Jim: Yes, I understand that, but you must realize that I'm not the only one who felt this way about her. I mean, the judge spoke so eloquently about the tragedy of Ms. DiMera, and he gave her a very lenient sentence.
Rafe: Well, apparently not lenient enough, huh?
Jim: Well, I think that she has suffered enough. And I also--I can't forget the thousands of letters and emails that came pouring into my office. The people have spoken.
Rafe: Oh, really. The people have spoken. All right.
Rafe: You wanna tell me why you're lying about this?
Pilot: Folks, we've got a problem with one of our engines. We may have to return to Salem to get it taken care of.
Melanie: Look, um, I've-- [Stammers] I wrote to you on my wedding day. I wanted to say I'm sorry. For all the problems that I've caused us--you and...you know, to say good-bye.
Nathan: Good-bye? On your wedding day. Fully committed to Philip and a million things on your mind, and y-you wanna send a bridesmaid out with a good-bye note? And that bridesmaid just happened to be Stephanie.
Melanie: Yeah. So?
Nathan: So I don't believe a word of it.
Carly: So how hot is that coffee?
Vivian: You have this faux sense of confidence, Carly, but you don't have anyone fooled. You can tell all the lies you want about me to your lovely daughter, for instance--
Carly: You were going to kill her, and I stopped you. She knows the truth know. That's why she testified and set me free.
Vivian: Oh, but you're not free--you never will be. Because you know I'm a merely an eye blink away from making that happen... today, tomorrow. Who knows?
Carly: Who cares?
Vivian: You do, my darling. Because until you die, you will live in fear. But don't worry. I'm going to make it happen very, very soon.
Bo: That crack you just made about this not ending until one of them is dead...may be true. But it won't be Carly. Vivian's vendetta ends now.
Victor: Well, it's a fine sentiment, Bo, but you can't change the facts. I mean, Carly's done some pretty awful things... aside from the abominable way she treated me. I mean, she murdered her husband. Vivian's not gonna let that go.
Bo: Then I'll stop her.
Victor: Vivian? She can hire a dozen lawyers. She'll tie the D.A. up in knots.
Bo: Excuse me. I obviously haven't made myself clear. If Vivian needs to be eliminated for this circus to end... then I will eliminate her.
Sami: EJ, I know I'm not alone.
EJ: No. Of course you're not alone. I understand that. I mean, look, you've got our two kids, and then you have Allie and Will...all living under the same roof. When was the last time that happened?
Sami: Well, that's certainly true. And I have you to thank for it. I mean, you're the one who found Sydney and brought her home to me. Are you sick and tired of me telling you how grateful I am all the time?
EJ: No. I was just in the right place at the right time, that's all.
Sami: It was a lot more than that, EJ. And anyway, my kids are not my problem.
EJ: Right. Rafe?
EJ: Look, Samantha, I.. I don't think you should be too discouraged, you know? I mean, on the one hand, obviously, he left you. But on the other hand, in my experience, these things have a tendency to work themselves out.
Sami: You really think that.
EJ: I do. I just think at the moment he probably feels very guilty.
Sami: He has no reason to feel guilty. I'm the one who feels guilty. I mean, I'm the one who lied to him and betrayed his trust.
EJ: Okay...well, yes and no, all right? I mean...Samantha, you...got your daughter back. You did the right thing, okay? And I think he resents you for that... for taking away his pride. Much more than he resents you for, you know, just the betrayal about our daughter.
Sami: Well, while I appreciate your uncharacteristic optimism... I don't see how this is gonna work out. I don't know how Rafe and I will ever get past this.
EJ: Neither do I. I don't. But, um...I don't think you should worry about that right now. I think you should just focus on the positive. I mean, I can see so many blessings in your life, Samantha, just standing right in front of you.
Jim: You know something, son? Being a federal agent doesn't give you the right to talk to your governor like that.
Rafe: [Clicks tongue] Well, I'm sorry, but what you just said didn't make any sense.
Jim: Is that a fact?
Jim: Well, I did my best to explain it to you. And you're damn lucky I gave you the time. Now, get out.
Rafe: No, Nicole didn't-- she did not walk out of prison today because you got a bunch of emails. Now, I can open an investigation into this...if I have to. Understand?
Rafe: I'm gonna give you one chance. One chance to tell me the real reason why Nicole DiMera was set free.
Brady: Yes, sir. Yes, sir, thank you very much. It's the justice of the peace. He's on his way. We are go, girl.
Arianna: [Squeals] Oh, my Gd. Okay, what about, you know, all the other stuff?
Brady: I got the stuff taken care of. Concierge and manager--they are going to be our witnesses.
Brady: The garden is being spruced up as we speak. There's this archway...it's gonna be dripping with bougainvillea. It's gonna be very beautiful. And the justice of the peace is bringing the license. So really, Arianna, all I need is a girl that's gonna say "I do."
Arianna: Wow. That would be me.
Brady: That would be you. I know, it's crazy. But this--I like this that it's just us. We're alone.
Arianna: I know, and I couldn't have survived, you know, my mom helping me plan the wedding--she would have been so emotional the whole time. It would have been about her.
Brady: My grandfather would have been walking around, mumbling into his bourbon all night.
Arianna: No one will interfere because no one knows.
Brady: No one's gonna know. Until the deed is done.
Nicole: So the governor called and said that I was free and that...I had suffered enough. And you want to know what I told him?
Nicole: That I had learned my lesson. No more fantasies about being a mother.
Brady: That's good for you.
Nicole: And I learned something else. Another lesson. And that is--there's only one person for me. And all I want is for you to love me again, Brady. Please... will you give me another chance?
Brady: God, Nicole.
Nicole: No. It won't happen that fast. It'll take time...but it will happen. Brady will love me again.
Sami: EJ, I, um...
EJ: Oh--hey, whoa. Stop.
Sami: I really--
EJ: Stop. Samantha, no, that's not what I meant...okay? What I meant was just that that being here with you and our children--the way a mother and father should be--is a blessing. It's something that I treasure every single day. And you gave that to me, and I'm very grateful for it. And, uh... you won't regret it.
Sami: No. I know I won't.
EJ: Good. So will you let me help you? I just want you to focus on something positive, okay? Just for right now. Let's just focus on our kids... okay?
Sami: Yeah. That'd be great.
Jim: Point of law, Agent Hernandez... the pardoning of a prisoner from a state correctional institution is a state matter. I am the governor of this state. You want to investigate, open a file. I guarantee your superiors will be all over you faster than you can blink. Nicole DiMera has been pardoned. It's over.
Rafe: The way I see it, it's a long way from over, Governor.
Victor: Oh, I know you better than that. You're angry now--
Bo: This has gone way past anger, Victor.
Victor: Well, I understand that too. But you love the law. No way you're gonna commit murder. And I can hardly see you hiring a hit man and trying to get away with it.
Bo: I wouldn't do that.
Victor: Of course not.
Bo: Try to get away with it, I mean. If I put that woman underground by...whatever means, I'll own up to it.
Victor: Oh, stop talking like that.
Bo: Because you're right. I do live by the law... and I'll accept my punishment.
Victor: You could spend the rest of your life in prison.
Bo: Knowing that Carly and her daughter are safe. So Vivian has to realize that this ends now... or I will put her away.
Victor: You'd really give up your life for a cheap slut.
Bo: Don't really care... what you or that woman think of Carly. I love her. And I will do anything, Victor, anything...to protect her. I'm not like you. I don't throw people away, people I love, when things get inconvenient. She deserves a life with her daughter. And in order to have that life without this threat hanging over her head, I will eliminate Vivian.
Victor: Good God, do you have any idea what this would do to Hope? To Ciara, to Shawn Douglas, Chelsea? What about your mother? This could kill her, Bo.
Bo: Then do something about it. Do something about it before I have to take matters into my own hands.
Carly: Are you finished yet?
Vivian: Oh, no, my darling. I won't be finished until you leave the planet. You know that. That's why your hands are trembling right now. And so they should.
[Cell phone rings]
Vivian: Oh! Let me just get that. Hello, my sunshine.
Victor: Get your ass over to my place. Now.
Vivian: Mm. Well... I'm just going to toodle along right now. But I want you to think about that, Carly. Think about the dream. Live the nightmare.
Melanie: Look, I'm telling you, it does make sense.
Nathan: You don't just send a ‘Dear John’ letter on your wedding day...if you send one at all--
Melanie: Is it so weird that I might have been thinking about you and just maybe wanted to say good-bye?
Nathan: You send it...before you accept another guy's ring.
Melanie: Look, Nathan, I needed closure! Look, I really fell for you... like hard. And I wanted it to work out between us, but we blew it. I blew it. I...blew it. I couldn't be the girl that you wanted me to be.
Nathan: What if I didn't mean that I--
Melanie: No, I--no, just-- it's okay, it's--I-I made a decision. And it was a great one, because Philip's the best, and we love each other, and after everything I've been through, I couldn't ask for a better husband. So...let's just get this whole-- this--this...letter thing taken care of, okay? I wrote it because I-- I want us both to let go. You know, no regrets or feeling sorry or anything. I just--I want us to be friends now.
Nathan: No. No! Forget it. I cannot be friends with somebody who acts like that. This is over.
EJ: I quit.
Sami: Thank you for your help. EJ... I just want you to know I--
EJ: Rafe. Hoping to see you.
Rafe: Well, you're not gonna believe this. Nicole DiMera got pardoned from the governor.
Rafe: She's out of prison. She's free as a bird.
Nicole: Oh... what if someone lets him know that was pardoned before I get there? Arianna. She would call him in Santo Domingo, pour all this poison in his ear. I've gotta... I've gotta...oh! Yes!
[Cell phone rings]
Brady: Hello? Hello?
Stephanie: Are you okay?
Carly: I'm fine, thank you.
Stephanie: So I...I heard Melanie's out of the hospital and back at Maggie's with Philip. And I also heard that you guys are mother and daughter? How is she doing?
Carly: How's she doing? Uh, you know, I don't have a clue. Something else you probably haven't heard. Melanie hates my guts.
Stephanie: Join the club.
Nicole: Well, he didn't sound upset. I mean, if he had known I was free, then he would have guessed it was me calling. Oh, who knows? Maybe Arianna doesn't even know he's in Santo Domingo, and... I'll have him all to myself. Yeah. [Exhales]
Arianna: Nobody's there?
Brady: No. Wrong number, lost the signal--I don't know. I don't know. It's nobody calling about the wedding, because nobody knows about the wedding.
Arianna: Yeah. Kinda starting to feel guilty about that.
Brady: Family thing?
Arianna: Well, yeah. They'll be okay with it. After they quit yelling.
Brady: You know what, my family's gonna be the same way. There's gonna be some that will congratulate me and some that'll--
Brady: Yeah. Victor. Hey...Melanie. Can you imagine the look on her face? The little matchmaker finally got her match?
Arianna: I know. She's kinda like the one person I wish we could have told.
Brady: Me too.
Concierge: 'Scuse me, Mr. Brady.
Concierge: About the ceremony in the garden.
Brady: Yes. Ceremony in the garden. Um...here, you tell her.
Brady: Yeah! Go for it. Tell her.
[Cell phone rings]
Melanie: Hi. Brady?
Arianna: Hey. No, no, it's Ari...with some great news.
Melanie: Oh. Hey. Um...what is it?
Arianna: Are you okay?
Melanie: No. I'm a long way from okay.
Nathan: Steph? Hey, Steph. Whoa, whoa, hey, Steph, wait. Come on.
Rafe: No, I was standing right there when she got the call from the governor.
Sami: Are you kidding me?
EJ: Son of a bitch.
Rafe: And since he was in town for a fundraiser, of course I went to his hotel to discuss the issue with him.
Sami: What did he say?
Rafe: Whole lotta nothing. Obviously, someone's gotten to him. Sami, I've already spoken to your father. He's agreed to have cops stake this place out in case Nicole tries to make another play for Sydney.
Sami: Oh, my God!
Rafe: As of right now, no one knows where she is.
EJ: Where is the governor staying?
Rafe: Salem Inn.
EJ: I'm gonna go pay him a visit. He's gonna wish he'd never heard the name Nicole Walker--let alone DiMera.
Sami: This is unbelievable. I mean, who does Nicole know to get her a pardon?
Anna: Jeez! What is it with me and airplanes?
Pilot: Folks, that little problem I told you about is fixed. We're good to go, so relax and enjoy the ride.
Bo: It's over. Done.
Carly: What is? Not Vivian.
Carly: No, Bo, I'm sorry. She threatened me at the Java a little while ago, okay? I know how much you want to help me, and I appreciate it, but I don't think it's possible to stop her...ever.
Bo: She will be stopped. One way or the other.
Vivian: If you could have seen the fear on her face, Victor.
Victor: You're done, Vivian.
Vivian: I'm done?
Victor: Torturing Carly.
Victor: The vendetta ends today.
Vivian: What--what are you talking about? Does that mean I'm supposed to kill her now?
Victor: You are not to touch a hair on her head. No more revenge, no more vendetta, no more anything. She's free to go.
Vivian: Victor...a-are you on some sort of medication?
Victor: Listen to me. You keep this up, Bo is gonna put you six feet under. And he doesn't care if he goes to prison for it. Now, I know my son. He's not bluffing. And I'm not going to risk his going to prison because you and I would prefer to see Carly suffer.
Vivian: But if you would--
Victor: It's over.
Vivian: Listen to what I have to say!
Victor: Just shut up and listen to me. There is only one way for this to end well. The vendetta ends today. Carly is free to go.
Vivian: Well, that's easy for you to say...but ever since Lawrence was murdered, my raison d'être is to kill that murderous woman.
Victor: Vivian, I know this is not going to be easy for you. Asking you to be merciful is like asking a dog not to bark. And there's no point in trying to reason with you, not when it comes to Carly. I only have one thing that I can offer you.
Stephanie: I wasn't trying to get away from you. I just have some things to take care of in four west. And we're on a break, so I was just--
Nathan: Actually, that's what I want to talk to you about.
Stephanie: What? Something change?
Nathan: In a way. I talked to Melanie, and we talked about the letter and... turns out it wasn't so important.
Stephanie: I'm sorry?
Nathan: Let's not make a big deal out of this.
Stephanie: Nathan, what, exactly, did Melanie tell you?
Melanie: Um... I should have been more direct.
Arianna: Direct? I'm still lost. I understand you're upset, but can you just give me some more details?
Melanie: You know what? Um...don't worry about it. It's, uh, it's over. What...what was your good news?
Arianna: Well... you know that guy, Brady black, the one that you're always after me to go after?
Arianna: We're in the middle of eloping.
Melanie: What? Are you--are you--that's-- awesome, that's-- why am I not a bridesmaid?
Arianna: Um...'cause we're not exactly close to Salem.
Melanie: All right, fine. But, you know, when you get back, I'm throwing you a shower.
Arianna: Oh! That sounds great.
Melanie: I mean it, Ari. You be happy. You--you tell Brady not to screw this up.
Brady: I-I'm here, Mel, and I'm not gonna screw it up. We're having a big party when I get back, okay?
Melanie: Okay. Okay. Okay. Congratulations. Go get married.
Brady: Later, Melanie.
Arianna: Thank you. Bye.
Melanie: Hi...husband. [Giggles, sniffles] I just wanna tell you how much I love you. [Sighs]
Rafe: So you're telling me even if Sami goes shopping, there'll be someone on her and the house. Right. Okay, Roman, thanks a lot. Listen, I'm probably overreacting. No one's even seen Nicole in Salem since she got out of prison.
Sami: Maybe she went to her mom's.
Rafe: Ah, no. Tried that. Listen, I've gotta go check and see why the governor's really in town. We got a hunch that this whole fundraiser thing's just a cover, so... you gonna be okay here... with the kids?
Sami: [Scoffs] I'll lock the door.
Rafe: Good. Well, I'll see you later, I guess.
Sami: What... what do you mean, you guess? I know what I said, but... I don't want us to be apart. Not tonight, and not ever.
Arianna: Hi. Okay, let me see, let me see. Wow.
Arianna: You're looking sharp, Mr. Brady. Looking sharp.
Brady: Um, and you...this bikini thing, it works for me.
Brady: It really does. I don't think you need the white dress at all.
Arianna: What? No, I just bought it, and I love it, and you're gonna love it too. Promise.
Brady: One condition.
Brady: You gotta wear it with this. Open it.
Arianna: I'm opening. And...my gosh. It's beautiful.
Brady: You're beautiful.
Arianna: Thank you. I can't believe this is happening. I'm gonna go, I-I'm gonna change, and then we're gonna go to the garden!
Brady: We're going to the garden, and you are gonna become Mrs. Brady Black.
Arianna: Thank you.
Brady: You're welcome.
Brady: No last-minute regrets? Let me hear 'em.
Arianna: Are you kidding? No! All right, see you in a bit.
Brady: Go, go, go.
Man: Uh, Señor. Wanted to talk to you about the drinks afterwards?
Brady: Uh...she's gonna have some ch--
Maltano: Oh, Mr.--Mr. Black!
Maltano: I am so sorry I'm late.
Brady: Don't--don't worry about it, it's okay, Señor Maltano. My bride is actually getting ready right now.
Maltano: Oh, good. I'm on a rather tight schedule today, I'm afraid.
Brady: I--that's okay. We want this to be quick. As a matter of fact, I think this is gonna be the quickest wedding in history.
Nathan: So all Melanie wanted to do was say good-bye and "let's be friends."
Nathan: Anyway, look-- [Clears throat] I'm sorry I blew up on you. You know, Melanie should have never put you in the middle of this.
Stephanie: Yeah, no kidding. Let's face it. If she hadn't done that, then things wouldn't be over for us right now.
Nathan: Well, maybe they don't have to be.
Vivian: Uh...Victor, I-I... hardly know what to say.
Victor: Well, I've known that you've always wanted our arrangement to be a little more... permanent.
Vivian: Well, ever since I came back to Salem, I sort of--
Victor: Fine. Then let's get married. Yes, yes, I know what Philip's going to say, and Brady, and Daniel.
Vivian: Ha ha ho! And Kate.
Victor: Yes, well, they'll just have to live with it. That, or they can disown me. I don't care.
Vivian: Y--You--you would do that for me? A-And, of course, for Bo?
Victor: I love my son, Vivian. I don't want to see him spend the rest of his life in prison. And I don't want to see you dead.
Vivian: Well, I mean, I really...really do wanna... be with you, actually, very much but, um, to give up Carly and all that sweet revenge... I don't--
Victor: That's the deal.
Vivian: [Sighs] You know, Victor, I think... I think I'm gonna have to think about this.
Bo: So I left it at that. Victor takes care of this problem, or I will... by whatever means necessary.
Carly: Oh, come on, you can't mean that. You promise me--you promise me that if Victor can't rein her in, you will not do that. Please!
Bo: He would have known if I was bluffing.
Carly: Come on, Bo.
Bo: I've been in law enforcement a long time... and I gave this everything I've got. In the end...the law couldn't protect you. But I will. I'm not... gonna let Vivian hurt you. I won't let anyone hurt you ever again.
Carly: There has to be another way.
Bo: No. I love you. And I won't let anyone take you from me. Never.
Rafe: Sami, I... I don't want us to be apart either.
Sami: Well, maybe we can... talk about it--
Rafe: I just don't see how things can be different, though. It's like we don't ever seem to... I should go.
Jim: Finally getting out of this miserable town.
EJ: How dare you.
Stephanie: Maybe you wanna clarify that.
Nathan: Seems pretty clear to me. I accused you of, you know, keeping that letter from me and didn't turn out to be important anyways. When I said we needed a break, it's 'cause I didn't know the whole truth.
Stephanie: And now you do?
Nathan: Right. So what do you think? Think we can start over?
Stephanie: Which makes me second choice?
Nathan: No, it doesn't.
Stephanie: Feels like it.
Nathan: Melanie and I weren't meant to happen. Maybe you and I...maybe we were. What do you say, you wanna give it another shot?
Melanie: Mm, well, then, why are we still on the phone? I could be there right now, and you could already have your arms around me. Okay. All right, I'll see you in a minute. Gah! Okay. Dopey Melanie. Oh, my God! [Gasps] Good-bye, Nathan.
Carly: Bo, listen.
Bo: Don't say anything. I'm here, I'll always... always be here.
Carly: I know. You are the most wonderful man I've ever known... and I love you so much.
Maltano: I had it right... I thought...ohh! I'm so sorry. The license must be in my car.
Brady: It's no problem. Arianna's still getting dressed, and I gotta arrange for the photographs, so...
Maltano: All right.
Nicole: Oh, uh, excuse me, sir. Uh, do you know if Brady Black is here?
Maltano: Yes, of course, he's right there. Ohh...and you must be the beautiful bride.
Anna: Free at last. [Chuckles]
Victor: Well, Mr. Hernandez, I presume.
Rafe: Actually, in this case, it's Special Agent Hernandez.
Victor: Oh. Well, in that case, you know the names of my lawyers. Talk to them.
Rafe: Just a couple questions. Nothing about you or your businesses. It's my understanding that Governor Jim Ford was here last night. Is that correct?
Rafe: You have anything to do with why he pardoned Nicole DiMera today?
EJ: How dare you free my ex-wife!
Jim: I thought you were behind the move. I assumed it was your idea!
EJ: What? Why the hell would you think that?
Victor: The governor pardoned Nicole?
Victor: What the hell for? And why would you think I'd want something like that?
Jim: Because the request came from your family. What the devil was I supposed to think?
EJ: From my fam--what, my father told you to do this?
Jim: Stefano? No! Good God, not him!
Rafe: Well, the governor visited you last night, and then today he freed Nicole. You do the math.
Victor: That's absurd. I despise the woman! I was looking forward to watching her rot in prison.
Rafe: Okay. Well, did you see him talk to anyone else?
Victor: The governor was here for a fundraiser, it-- oh, my God.
EJ: Then who from my family told you to do this?
Jim: Your sister-in-law!
Victor: Anna DiMera.
Sami: What made him do it... or who?
EJ: People cross us... they pay.
Nicole: Everything's changed, Brady...everything.
