Vivian: Henderson! Oh, God, you look so dapper. Ah, would you put this on ice for me?
Henderson: Yes, ma'am.
Vivian: Thank you. Oh, and don't drop it, because it's worth more than your retirement annuity. [Laughing]
Henderson: Yes, ma'am.
Vivian: Oh, Henderson, don't look so glum. It's a very happy day. Cheer up.
Henderson: Yes, ma'am.
Victor: Who died?
Vivian: No one.
Victor: Well, you bought expensive booze, you got a strange new haircut, touching Henderson inappropriately...
Victor: Something surely has happened to make you feel so jolly.
Victor: I've got it. You have Carly in the trunk of your car.
Vivian: Oh, please, there's no need for that. Carly Manning’s life has already gone up in flames.
Kate: [Scoffs] EJ caught you with Sydney. Did you cover for Will? [Sighs] My God. I know he's your son, but EJ is getting absolutely impossible to deal with. Did you have any time at all with the baby? Look, don't worry. We're just gonna keep trying. All right, I'll talk to you later. Well, well, well... look who's here.
Philip: Yeah, look who's here. What's up? What are you doing?
Kate: Well... oh, forget about it. You don't really care anyway. How's Melanie?
Philip: Great, great. She just got released from the hospital today.
Kate: And you're not glued to her side?
Philip: Hmm, I'd like to be.
Kate: So where is she?
Daniel: Hey. Hey, baby. I didn't think you'd be working today.
Chloe: No, I'm not. I actually came here to visit melanin, but she's not in her room. Did they take her to get tests or something?
Daniel: No, no, no. I released her. She went straight from here to the courthouse.
Chloe: Oh. To do what?
Daniel: Well, hopefully to, uh, clear her mother.
Chloe: Why would she do that?
Daniel: I asked her to.
Carly: I'm sorry. I-I only meant that--
Melanie: Don’t. Just don't touch me, please.
Carly: I'm sorry. I just keep saying that, don't I? I'm just--I'm--I'm a toucher, especially with people who keep me from going to prison.
Melanie: Um, I kept you from going to prison because it was the right thing to do... not because I want anything to do with you.
Anna: I don't have to prove anything to you.
Nicole: Gee, I think you do.
Anna: Sydney is home, safe and sound. Just move on.
Nicole: Move on? [Chuckles] Right. Yeah, I'll just go back to my charming room and think about that. Oh, how I hope they haven't forgotten the turndown service. You know, while I'm in there, I'll just, uh, start making phone calls, okay? I'll call Sami, and then she'll call Rafe, and then they'll call the FBI, and--
Anna: Okay, okay, I'm not admitting anything, but--
Nicole: But what?
Anna: Okay, what do you want?
Nicole: Now, that's more like it.
Anna: I said, "What do you want?"
Nicole: Just a-a small, little thing, really. I want you to get me out of here.
Carly: I'd given up on us, you know. But then when you walked in here and you insisted on talking to the judge, I thought, "Maybe there's a chance." You know, "Maybe-- maybe I could be her mother."
Melanie: Well, you thought wrong. You thought wrong. Look, um... if you really care about me, you will just stay out of my life.
Carly: [Meekly] I can’t.
Melanie: Sure you can.
Carly: No, I can’t.
Melanie: You were great at it for years. [Voice breaking] Look, you went out on a limb for me, and I went out on one for you, so we're even. And that--that, Carly, is all I wanted.
Carly: No. Come here. I don't believe you.
Anna: Are you saying what I think you're saying?
Nicole: Well, I-I think I was pretty clear, yeah.
Anna: You want me to bust you out of this joint?
[Cell phone ringing]
Philip: Excuse me. Hey. What? And nobody told me?
Kate: Nobody told you what?
Philip: Nothing. Thanks. Thanks a bunch, cousin. You're all heart. That was Justin.
Kate: Bad news, I gathered.
Philip: He's at the courthouse.
Kate: Well, right, because Carly’s being sentenced today.
Philip: Right. Yeah, that's where Melanie’s at too. She got her off.
Kate: Why would she do something like that?
Philip: I don't know. I don't know. But I'm sure as hell gonna find out.
Kate: Well, Carly is very lucky that Melanie has such a big heart. Not everyone is going to be as happy as Carly about this. [Clicks tongue] Hey. Yeah, it's me. I need you to track down Vivian Alamain. Oh, I have some wonderful news to give her.
Vivian: They've probably taken Carly into custody by now, and she's realizing it was very foolish of her to plead guilty. But then, what can you do? Oh... are we having a party?
Victor: How perceptive of you.
Vivian: Oh, how sweet. Oh, please tell me there's a cake, and it's in the shape of a woman's prison.
Victor: This has nothing to do with you, Vivian, or with Carly.
Victor: I'm throwing a little fund-raising dinner for the governor this evening.
Vivian: Well, then I should go home and change and--and get something really lovely on, because this is a perfect ending to a perfectly wonderful day.
Victor: Just hold your horses.
Victor: What makes you think you're invited?
Daniel: Well, you seem upset.
Chloe: I'm just surprised, that's all.
Daniel: Yeah? About what?
Chloe: About you... pressuring Melanie into helping Carly?
Daniel: No, I didn't pressure her. And why wouldn't I want her to help Carly?
Chloe: Because she shot Melanie.
Daniel: Yeah, to stop Vivian. You do know that?
Chloe: Yeah, I-I do know that. I also know that she got pregnant with your baby and then just gave her up without letting you know she even existed.
Daniel: Hmm, okay. Okay, no, I get this now. I get it.
Chloe: What do you get?
Daniel: Well, I get when you made me part of your life, you didn't know about any of this.
Chloe: Neither did you.
Daniel: No. And all of a sudden, now I have a daughter...
Chloe: And what, I can't give you children? Do--do you think I'm jealous of Carly? Is that what you get?
Daniel: No. No, what I'm trying to say is the timing in all this just sucks, okay? And I'm sorry.
Chloe: Don't be. I'm fine. I'm handling it.
Daniel: Are you?
Daniel: Hmm. I know you're not handling it. And you feel like you can't talk to me about it. Hmm? Well, I hope you're talking to Dr. Gilbert.
Chloe: I'm feeling much better.
Daniel: Hmm. Okay. Well, you were right about something. If Carly had told me about Melanie, all of our lives would be so much better... especially Melanie’s. Well, at least, um, there's not secrets like that between you and me, right?
Melanie: Look, Carly... [Chuckles] What part of "I don't give a damn about you" are y--are you not getting?
Carly: Does Philip know what you did for me?
Melanie: No, he doesn't know I'm here.
Carly: You didn't tell him?
Melanie: No. No. Why-- why--why does that matter?
Carly: Then Victor probably doesn't know yet.
Melanie: You're not making any sense.
Carly: What you did, walking in here, was so brave, but there are gonna be so many people who won't think this is a great idea.
Melanie: No, no! Carly, don't make me out to look like Joan of Arc. Me saying you were innocent, that was my way of cutting ties with you. Just like... just like you did when you gave me away.
Carly: I'm so sorry.
Melanie: I don't care. It doesn't change the fact that I grew up with a psycho because of you.
Carly: No, you're right. And I don't want anything else bad to happen to you because of me.
Melanie: You have no say about what happens to me now.
Carly: I want so much to be in your life.
Melanie: Well, you can't! You can't! Do you want to know why I came here, Carly? My dad asked me to... my father... the one you kept from me. I did this for Daniel.
Anna: [Scoffs] What do you think this is, a movie? ‘Babes in the Big House’ or something?
Nicole: I love that one. You know, they play it in here all the time.
Anna: I can't stage a jailbreak.
Nicole: Look, I don't want you to bust me out of here, you twit.
Anna: Okay, well, then what do you want?
Nicole: I want you to get me out of here legally.
Anna: Legally? What am I, a lawyer?
Nicole: No, but you do carry a lot of clout, right?
Carly: Daniel encouraged you to help me?
Melanie: Don't--don't-- don't go getting all misty-eyed. He's just as mad as I am about what you did to us.
Carly: Right. Right.
Melanie: You want to know what he told me? [Crying] He... said he would have loved to be my dad... for my whole life. I could've had him... instead of the one I got.
Carly: [Sighs] I'm... I-I'm so glad the two of you are getting closer. I really am.
Melanie: Stuff your well wishes, Carly. He told me to come here and get you off, because he thought that you going to jail would be bad for me. Can you believe that? Someone was worried about me and my feelings. I mean, what a concept, right?
Carly: No matter why you did it, it still gives me a chance to make things up to you.
Melanie: Look, Carly, get it through your head-- I don't want anything from you!
Philip: Hey, what did you say to her, Carly?
Melanie: Nothing. Nothing. I just--just forget it. That's what I'm gonna do. Can we go?
Vivian: I just assumed I was on the guest list.
Victor: Well, you're not.
Vivian: Oh, you're so sweet, Victor. You're covering for Henderson, because he forgot to send me an invitation.
Vivian: If I were living here, I would have known about this party.
Victor: Yes, well, your nosiness is one of the reasons you're not living here any longer-- that and the fact that you tried to bump off my daughter-in-law.
Vivian: I told you I'm giving that up.
Victor: Oh, yes, and we know how wonderful you are at keeping your promises, don't we?
Vivian: Are you angry at me?
Victor: No. I am hoping that eventually Philip and Melanie will move in here. And Philip has made it abundantly clear that that's not going to happen as long as you're here.
Vivian: This is all Carly’s fault. If she hadn't killed Lawrence, I wouldn't be living like an outcast at the Salem Inn.
Victor: Yes, of course. You're the victim here.
Vivian: Well, I'll get past it. Carly's getting the justice she deserves, so it'll be a double celebration.
Victor: You're not coming.
Vivian: I'll see you later.
Victor: Not if I see you first.
Vivian: I'm going to get myself a lovely dress. I've waited long enough for this.
Nicole: So... [Clears throat] I read an article in the paper, and it turns out the governor is paying a visit to Salem.
Nicole: Governor Ford... your old boyfriend.
Anna: He wasn't a boyfriend... exactly.
Nicole: [Chuckles] Really? Then why were you always braying about him at the DiMera mansion when he was elected governor?
Anna: I do not bray.
Nicole: Wow. Well, you could have fooled me. [Mockingly] "Oh, look, my old beau is governor. If I hadn't have married Tony, I'd be first lady."
[Both chuckling mockingly]
Anna: I haven't seen Jim in ages.
Nicole: Well, then this is a dandy opportunity for you and Jim to catch up.
Anna: And what do you get out of this, Nicole?
Nicole: A pardon.
Anna: [Laughing] Oh, that's funny. He liked me, but he didn't like me that much.
Nicole: Come on, Anna, don't underestimate yourself.
Anna: He's married.
Nicole: He's a politician.
Anna: I can't do this.
Anna: I haven't been with another man since... no. I am still in mourning.
Nicole: Oh... dry those tears and start working that mojo, honey, or you'll end up in the cell next to mine.
Melanie: [Sighs] [Breathes deeply]
Philip: I wish you would have told me what you had in mind.
Melanie: You would have tried to stop me.
Philip: Well, it's a good thing I didn’t. Look how happy it made you. Hmm?
Melanie: She's unbelievable, Philip. I keep her from going to jail, but that's not good enough. She wants to be close. That's not gonna happen. How did you know where I was?
Philip: Justin, he called me, after you'd gotten his client off.
Melanie: I'm just glad you're here.
Philip: Well, me too, baby. Me too. You shouldn't have had to go through any of this.
Melanie: Yeah, yeah. Tell me about it.
Philip: I should have been up on that roof. I should have taken that bullet for you.
Melanie: No. No. No one's ever said that to me before... uh, said it and meant it. [Chuckles]
Philip: I would do anything for you. I am never gonna let anybody hurt you ever again. Okay? Let's go.
Melanie: Where are we going?
Philip: Home. What do you think?
Vivian: Uh, yeah, I'm picking up a cappuccino, and I can be there in about 20 minutes. Helga, you've got to fit me in. I've got a very important occasion tonight, and I-I-I-- all right, a polish change will be fine. Thanks. I'll be there soon. Thanks.
Kate: Special occasion, huh?
Vivian: Oh, you.
Kate: Must be that fund-raiser that Victor's hosting for the governor.
Vivian: And you must have read about it in the society pages, because I know you weren't invited, since you're married to the man who tried to whack Philip, your own son. My God, you must have the most interesting pillow talk.
Kate: Wow, you're chipper this morning.
Vivian: I am, and even talking with you isn't going to bring me down.
Kate: Really? Why's that? What happened?
Vivian: Well, you see, Carly’s being arrested for shooting her own daughter. Lawrence has been vindicated, and Carly’s going to go to prison for a long, long time.
Kate: Oh, dear. You haven't heard, have you?
Vivian: [Chuckles] Heard what?
Kate: Well, she's free. They dropped the charges against her.
Vivian: But that's-- that's not possible.
Kate: Oh, but it is. It is. You know, the thing that's really funny is that I'm the one who's telling you.
Daniel: Now, where was I? Ah, I know. I was about to tell you how great you've been through all of this.
Chloe: Hmm. You know, um, I didn't only come here to see Melanie. I kind of--
Daniel: You know what? It's not an emergency. What do you want to talk to me about? Something wrong?
Chloe: No, it's not a big deal.
Daniel: Are you sure?
Chloe: Yeah. Go help whoever needs you. I'm fine.
Daniel: Are you holding out on me?
Chloe: Not a chance.
Daniel: Look, I'm sorry. I just--I've had a lot on my mind.
Chloe: You have nothing to be sorry about.
Daniel: Well, I'll make it up to you... okay?
Chloe: Carly, hi.
Chloe: Hey, uh, do you have a minute?
Carly: Actually, I have an appointment, so...
Chloe: Oh, well, it's gonna have to wait, 'cause you and I, we have a couple things we need to get straightened out.
Anna: I don't know why I should do anything for you, Nicole. I don't like you. And I don't care what you say, you don't have one thing on me.
Nicole: Oh, what is the matter with me? You know, I'm not gonna call Sami and Rafe about you. No, I think I will have a little chat with my ex-husband, EJ. Hmm, what do you know? I think I finally hit pay dirt.
Philip: All right, now, keep your eyes closed.
Melanie: Philip, I've had to keep my eyes closed the whole car ride. Where--I'm getting bored.
Philip: Don't get cranky.
Melanie: [Chuckles] I'm not getting cranky. I just want to go home, and I want to see the place. Is it the one that you put the bid on?
Philip: I kind of put that one on hold.
Melanie: I'm sorry?
Philip: I put it on hold.
Melanie: Uh, Philip, if this is your cute, little way of telling me that we are moving in with daddy--
Philip: Not a chance.
Philip: I think you're gonna like this place, okay?
Philip: Okay, you can open your eyes.
Melanie: Okay. [Gasp] It's Maggie's house.
Philip: Well, yeah. It's where your room is, where you were happy. And I thought this could be our new home...together.
Melanie: Are you serious?
Melanie: Does, um--
Philip: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait. Mrs. Kiriakis, I'd like to carry you across the threshold.
Melanie: Oh, okay. Whoa!
Philip: All right. Watch your feet.
Chloe: So I guess you being here means the charges against you were dropped?
Carly: I was lucky.
Chloe: Hmm. And that appointment you have... is it with Daniel?
Chloe: Well, I hope you're telling the truth, because you've really put him through enough.
Carly: Chloe, nobody knows that better than I do, believe me. Look, I'm here because I'm seeing the chief of staff about being reinstated, that's all.
Chloe: Oh, great. Well, I volunteer here as well, you know, so we can all work together. That's gonna be nice.
Carly: I know you don't think this is nice.
Chloe: Listen, I just think that Daniel needs some time to absorb the fact that he has a daughter. And he doesn't need to deal with anything else.
Daniel: Honey, honey, honey, I appreciate you going to bat for me, but I can take care of myself here.
Chloe: Fine. I'm leaving.
Daniel: Hold up. Why don't you go to the Java Cafe? And then I'll take you out to dinner once I get off duty.
Chloe: Is that gonna be anytime soon?
Daniel: How about you give me a half hour, okay?
Daniel: Okay. Bye. Well, did you hear how Chloe said "fine"? That was the special Chloe "fine"--the one with the unspoken phrase, "you big jerk."
Carly: Daniel, she loves you so much. So, um, Melanie tells me that I owe you one.
Daniel: Well, she's wrong. You don't owe me.
Carly: Daniel, please...
Daniel: Because I did it for her, not you.
Anna: EJ? EJ wouldn't even take a call from you.
Nicole: Oh, I think he'd take this one. My marriage is over because of the way EJ feels about Sydney. And if I tell him I know the name of the person who took her, believe me, he would stay on the line. And if I told him it was you, Tony’s wife, I'm sure he would come up with some creative ways to make you pay.
Anna: You stole a child, Nicole, his child. You kept that from him for months. Do you really think he's going to believe a word you say now?
Nicole: Well, there's always Stefano... who hates you... and loves to torment you.
[Scoffs] Come on, face it, Anna. I'm the one with options here, okay? If I call the cops, they make you my bitch in here. If I go the Sami-and-Rafe route, well, it's the same result. And Stefano, well, he doesn't-- he doesn't report crimes. He handles them. So do you see what I am saying? Lucky for you... I prefer the option of you working your magic on the governor and helping me walk out of here free and clear. So... you have 24 hours to deliver that pardon. Otherwise, let the games begin. 24, Anna. 24.
Anna: [Knocking on door]
Melanie: So how did you come up with this idea?
Philip: I told Maggie we could help her out.
Melanie: Her myasthenia gravis is back.
Philip: Yeah. That's a horrible thing. But, um, we're here to help her out, so... you know?
Melanie: I owe her so much.
Melanie: Thank you.
Philip: No problem.
Melanie: You know, though, that little twinkle that Maggie has in her eyes? She turns into a stubborn mule when you try and offer her help. So how did you talk her into this?
Philip: I told her we could help her out... help her keep up appearances, you know. Besides Daniel, we're the only ones who know about her condition, so now nobody has to know.
Melanie: Hmm. So this is married life, huh?
Philip: Not exactly a honeymoon cruise.
Melanie: Well, it suits me just fine.
Maggie: I thought I heard voices. Whoops! You know, I'm gonna have to learn to knock.
Melanie: Come here. Hi, Maggie.
Philip: I've got a lot of calls to make. I'm gonna let you two catch up, okay?
Philip: I'll see you later.
Melanie: Sure. You got it.
Philip: Bye. Bye.
Maggie: Bye. So cute.
Melanie: That's my husband.
Maggie: I know. And I know you love him very much. So why are you moving in here to take care of me?
Melanie: Maggie, you took care of me when I was at my most obnoxious. You are family, and family take care of each other, okay?
Carly: Melanie made it clear, as only Melanie can, that what you did, you did for her, not me. I'm fine with that.
Daniel: I knew you would be.
Carly: But the thing is, Daniel, our daughter wants nothing to do with me. And I know how you feel. The only way I'm gonna have a connection with Melanie is through you.
Daniel: And you want me to keep you informed?
Daniel: Without telling her or Chloe?
Carly: Honestly, I think it would be better.
Daniel: Yeah? Yeah, well, not for me.
Daniel: No, enough secrets, all right? I've had it up to here with secrets, and not just because you didn't tell me about Melanie.
Carly: Daniel, Vivian is still out there.
Daniel: And I will protect my daughter. I'm sorry... but I can't help you.
Vivian: How can she not be punished for shooting her own daughter?
Kate: Well, you know something? That, I think, is really the best part, because it's her daughter who exonerated her.
Vivian: Oh, that's not-- that's not true. How do you know that?
Kate: My son, Melanie’s husband, told me.
Vivian: Then it is true.
Kate: Gee, Viv, I kind of hate to burst your bubble. Um, I'll tell you what. I'll call Helga, and I'll offer to take that appointment for your manicure, 'cause, you know, I really need to keep my nails-- well, I need to keep them ready for emergencies. Have a good day.
Vivian: Oh, Carly... you think you've managed to get out of this, but you're very, very wrong.
Anna: Hello? Yes, hello. I'm an old friend of Governor Ford's, and I wanted to leave him a message. Anna. Anna DiMera. What do you mean I'm not on the list? You can't even take a message? [Scoffs] Look, I live in Salem, and I realize that he's going to be here making an appearance today, and I just wanted to find out where-- a fund-raiser? Oh, yeah, I'd love to know everything about that.
Chloe: Hi, Philip. Oh, Daniel told me that Melanie went home, right?
Philip: Yeah. Yeah, she did.
Chloe: That's great.
Philip: It is. It's great news. How are you?
Chloe: Me? I'm good.
Philip: If good means kind of a mess?
Chloe: Is it that obvious?
Philip: Only to a friend.
Chloe: Well, I'm gonna need an espresso, 'cause I've been running on them these days. I can't sleep at night.
Philip: Well, that might be your problem--espresso. You still haven't told Daniel about not seeing the therapist?
Chloe: No. I decided that I can't live like this anymore, so I did go to the hospital to talk to him, and then...
Philip: And he had just found out that Melanie had gotten Carly off, and you couldn't get his attention.
Chloe: Yeah, exactly. The longer this goes on, the worse it's gonna be when he finds out the truth.
Melanie: How are you feeling?
Maggie: I have my good days and my bad days.
Melanie: Well, when you're having a bad day, you let me know...okay? 'Cause this--this cheery act, it's not gonna work on me.
Maggie: Yes, ma'am. How you feeling?
Melanie: Well, I have my good days and my bad days.
Maggie: And today?
Melanie: It was a little bit of both. I mean, the good news was finding out I get to live with you and Philip here.
Maggie: Yes. And the bad part?
Melanie: I had a scene with Carly earlier.
Maggie: Hmm. What kind of a scene?
Melanie: I told her I want nothing to do with her.
Melanie: I don't need her! I have you.
Melanie: No... look, you're the mother I never had... okay? That's why we got to make sure that you are good, okay? So nothing can happen to you, 'cause I need you.
Kate: Hey, congratulations.
Carly: On what?
Kate: I was with Philip when Justin called and told him what Melanie said in the courtroom.
Carly: Yeah, it was a real red-letter day.
Kate: I should think you'd be a little happier that your daughter came around.
Carly: Well, it wasn't exactly that. She just wanted to set the record straight, that's all.
Kate: So how does Daniel feel about all of this?
Carly: He's happy to have a daughter. He's not happy with me.
Kate: He's not happy with me either.
Carly: Then we have something in common, don't we?
Kate: We also have a mutual enemy... Vivian.
Carly: I don't know what she's gonna do when she finds out I'm not going to prison.
Kate: Well, I just saw her, and she knows. You need to watch your back.
Nicole: Hey, Lois! Lois! Seriously? [Sighs] Lois?
Lois: You rang?
Nicole: Hi. What time is it?
Nicole: Oh, come on, you're not gonna charge me for looking down at your watch.
Lois: It's 12 minutes later than the last time you asked.
Nicole: That's great. It means I only have 22 hours and 16 minutes until I am out of here.
Lois: If you say so.
Nicole: Mm-hmm. Come on, Anna. You better come through for me.
Anna: Hello, Victor. I know this is a bit of a surprise, but I was hoping-- I was hoping-- I was hoping I could scam my way into your house and con a pardon out of the governor without him or you finding out that I helped EJ steal his own child. Oh... God, help me! No way, huh? I'm on my own? Oh! What is wrong with me? Why do I do these things? Because you don't have a choice, Anna. You don't have a choice, or you'll end up in the joint with the roommate from hell. Okay... [Breathes deeply]
Victor: Well, if it isn't little orphan Annie DiMera.
Anna: [Laughs] Hello, Victor. Um, I know this is kind of a surprise, but--
Victor: You know, it is a surprise, because I distinctly remember telling Henderson to take the trash all the way down to the curb.
Philip: So you gonna tell Daniel you're not going to therapy tonight when he gets home?
Chloe: No, I think that maybe that ship has sailed.
Philip: So what are you gonna do? You gonna keep pretending you're going to therapy and lying to him about it?
Chloe: I don't know what else to do.
Philip: Well, if you need someone to talk to...
Chloe: Thank you, but Daniel is now your father-in-law, so I don't think I'm gonna put you in the middle of this.
Philip: I've got to go. I'll see you.
Daniel: Hey, Philip. Hey.
Philip: Daniel. Hi. How are you?
Philip: Hey, I was gonna tell you, Melanie and I are moving in with Maggie.
Daniel: Get out. Yeah?
Philip: Yeah. Yeah, I figure we could help Maggie out, and Melanie will be around people she loves, so...
Daniel: Yeah? People who aren't your father and, uh, Vivian?
Philip: Right. Nice flowers.
Daniel: Thanks, man. Thanks. Hey.
Chloe: Hey. [Gasps] Are those for me? What's the-- what's wrong?
Daniel: Why have you been lying to me?
Maggie: Do you know how dear you are to me?
Melanie: I think I do.
Maggie: But you have a mother.
Melanie: And I want some tea. Do you?
Melanie: You just can't ignore that, you know.
Melanie: I've been doing a pretty good job of it so far.
Melanie: That's because you were hurt... and because you were in a nice, lovely hospital room that was a nice little cocoon. But now you're better, and you're back in the world. And thanks to you, so is Carly. She's gonna be a part of your life... like it or not.
Melanie: I'm gonna go with not. Okay? I kept her from going to jail. I don't owe her anything else. Carly Manning can fall off the face of the earth for all I care.
[Cell phone ringing]
Carly: Hey, Bo, you off duty? Uh, yeah, I-I spoke with Melanie. Uh, not well. She, um--she only did what she did because Daniel asked her to. She still wants nothing to do with me. Yeah, tomorrow is another day. I'm on my way home. I'll see you soon, okay? I love you.
Vivian: You didn't live up to your part of the deal, Carly. What am I supposed to do about that?
Brady: Is he living here? Are you nuts?
Daniel: We really do have big problems, now, don't we?
Vivian: The sword of Vivian hangs over thy head.
