Bo: You can't be serious. You're gonna try to take my daughter away from me?

Hope: It's what's best for her for now.

Bo: Best for her? To have her never see her father--that makes a lot of sense.

Carly: Why? Why would you do that?

Hope: Why do you think?

[Knocking on door]

Maggie: Kate.

Kate: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get you out of bed.

Maggie: No, uh, you didn’t. I was just getting ready to go to bed though. Um, come in. What can I do for you?

Kate: Well, I need to talk to Melanie. I have to warn her about Vivian.

Melanie: You didn't have to get me another gift.

Vivian: Well, you can't get married without having, uh, something old.

Melanie: It's pretty. What is it?

Vivian: It's a surprise.

Melanie: I just wanna know if it's like jewelry or something that I should see first so I can coordinate it with my outfit.

Vivian: You know what? It's fine, dear. Um, if you're so eager, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't open it. Let's just open it and get it over with.

Melanie: Get it over with? You kinda make it sound like it's a bad thing.

Vivian: Bad? Oh, no, no, no, it's good. I think you'll be very pleased.

Johnny: Hi, Daddy!

EJ: Oh, hey, big fella. Oh, how you doing?

Johnny: Very good.

EJ: You ready for some excitement? Okay, guess what? I ordered some video games and they arrived this morning.

Johnny: Yeah!

Sami: Hey, hey, EJ, do me a favor, don't wind him up too much. It's almost time for him to go to bed, okay?

EJ: Can you say worrywart?

Johnny: Worrywart.

EJ: Okay, that's your mother. She's a worrywart.

Sami: Hey, uh, I've got, uh, Rico the penguin for you right here, okay?

EJ: Hey, Johnny, I tell you what, why don't you grab Rico... and go upstairs to your room, okay? The games are on top of your bed.

Sami: Pirate Adventure Tours?

EJ: Yeah. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

Sami: Well, it's obviously geared for children. Who's going on this pirate adventure?

EJ: Oh, Johnny, uh, and me.

Anna: Good, she's not home. Okay. ‘Sami, sorry about your baby. Too bad I missed you. XOXO, Anna. Sami.’ Now, I gotta get out of here before EJ finds out I was here and pops a vessel.

Rafe: Can I help you?

Anna: Oh, um, no. Thank you, anyway. I really need to get--get going.

Rafe: Excuse me, hold on-- hold on a second. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down.

Anna: Well, who do you think you are?

Rafe: I'm Rafe Hernandez. Who are you?

Melanie: Well, okay, I might as well open it since I'm gonna be so pleased.

Vivian: Uh, not so fast. Turn around and close your eyes.

Melanie: Why?

Vivian: Just to keep the element of surprise alive.

Melanie: Okay. Oh, wow. Vivian, it's beautiful.

Vivian: Yes. Shall we try it on?

Melanie: Sure.

Vivian: There.

Carly: Stay away from her.

Vivian: It's too late. I've already given her my presents.

Carly: Melanie.

Melanie: The comb?

Vivian: Yes, the one with the poison tip. Sorry, my dear.

Carly: Baby? Honey?

Melanie: Carly, I can't--

Carly: Breathe.

Melanie: I can't breathe.

Carly: Breathe. Breathe. Breathe!

Melanie: [Gasping]

Carly: No!

Sami: Don't you think you should check with me before you plan something like this?

EJ: Oh, Samantha, obviously I was gonna check with you before I did anything. Look, these last few weeks have just been difficult. You know? I know it's been tough for you too, because you've got to deal with Rafe and all that stuff. Well, anyway, look, all I'm saying is it's just been pure hell for both of us.

Sami: What does that have to do with a pirate cruise?

EJ: I just--I really need a distraction right now, okay? I'm afraid that I'm not gonna be able to function much longer. I'm having trouble looking after Johnny--I just need to get away. Okay? I just need to get far away from here for a little while.

Anna: You're Rafe Hernandez.

Rafe: Why so shocked?

Anna: Oh, it's--it's just I--

Rafe: Who are you?

Anna: Um...

Rafe: You seem to be having a little trouble answering me there, don't ya?

Anna: No, no, no, I can answer--I will answer.

Rafe: Okay.

Anna: Who I am is... none of your business.

Rafe: Well, I'm gonna make it my business. How about that? What the hell are you doing here, and why did you leave a note under the door?

Carly: You're taking Bo's child away from him because of me?

Hope: You catch on fast.

Carly: How is that fair?

Hope: Oh, and you're the judge of fairness.

Carly: You're angry with me and him. Don't punish Ciara.

Hope: I'm not punishing Ciara.

Carly: People split up. Children adjust, they do.

Hope: Really? And how do you know that? Been watching Dr. Phil?

Carly: All I'm trying to--

Hope: You don't know it. None of us know it. "Children adjust." My God. That's like saying "Oh, life goes on"--it's an idiotic cliché and it means absolutely nothing.

Carly: All right, you're right, all right? I just--you're acting as if Ciara can't handle her father being involved with another woman, and all I'm trying to say--

Hope: You know what, I don't give a damn what you're trying to say. Our little girl has been through hell the last few months. And I have done everything I possibly can to protect her from any more trauma, so she doesn't spin out of control. Which is exactly why I'm taking her out of this house tonight and filing for sole custody.

Bo: You can't do that.

Hope: I can't? I can and I will and I'll win. You have exposed our little girl, who's so fragile and still so traumatized by being kidnapped. And even after everything she's been through, you still invite a murderer into this house? You have put yourself first, and you have hurt your daughter beyond measure and I cannot-- I will not let it go on. I'm putting a stop to it right now.

Kate: Vivian has hijacked Philip and Melanie’s wedding. Which means, this sadistic, destructive woman is now part of Philip’s life and part of Melanie’s life and I can't believe that doesn't concern you.

Maggie: I know Vivian has problems.

Kate: Problems? Maggie, it sounds like you're making excuses for her. She's dangerous. She is a dangerous woman who is now part of Philip’s life and strangely enough, part of Melanie’s life. How can that be good? What are you thinking?

Maggie: Mmm... I just got a message from Melanie a few minutes ago. She is at the Kiriakis mansion with Vivian right now.

Kate: Oh, God. I have to go. I'm going to be there--thank you.

Maggie: You're welcome. Oh...

Melanie: Well, whatever it is, it has to be a pretty big deal for you to be freaking out about it like this.

Vivian: On second thought...

Melanie: What?

Vivian: I think we should wait.

Melanie: The present?

Vivian: Yes, I think we should wait until the wedding. It's a much better time.

Melanie: But I was really excited.

Vivian: I--I know you're let down.

Melanie: All right, well, can I at least turn around then?

Vivian: Yes. You have my permission.

Melanie: Boo. I wanted to open it and now I feel like someone stuck a pin in me.

Vivian: Yes, well I know. I know that it's--it's disappointing.

Melanie: Okay, can you give me a hint?

Vivian: A hint. Well, let's just say it's something... that you will absolutely die for.

Sami: I just don't get it.

EJ: Well, what's not to get?

Sami: We have two children, EJ--two.

EJ: Okay, I'm well aware of that, Samantha.

Sami: Well, I don't understand how you can plan to take one out of town while the other one is missing.

EJ: Look, I wasn't planning this trip straight away.

Sami: That's reassuring.

EJ: You know what I mean, Samantha.

Sami: No, I don’t.

EJ: Look, I just--I really need something to look forward to, okay? And this trip with Johnny, it gives me that. Do you understand?

Sami: Okay. Maybe, but I still don't get it. I mean, Sydney is... she's still out--

EJ: Samantha, we are going to find Sydney, all right? Assuming your boyfriend doesn't botch it again.

Sami: He's not my-- he won’t.

EJ: Look, I don't know, maybe we can all go away. Maybe we can go away as a family. Wouldn't that be lovely?

Sami: Johnny.

Johnny: Yeah?

Sami: Give me a big hug. I love you so much, buddy. Ah, good, all right. I'm gonna miss you, okay? Have fun with Daddy. He wants a big hug. He needs a hug from you.

EJ: I gotcha. I gotcha. Okay.

Sami: Call me if you need anything, okay?

EJ: I will. We'll be fine. Okay, you and I, we're gonna go on a little trip. Pirate Island. Mmm. Mm-hmm, yeah. Sounds pretty fun, doesn't it? Just the two of us. Well, kind of.

Anna: Hey, just...

Rafe: You and I, we're gonna have a little chat.

Anna: Well, just keep your hands off me.

Rafe: Now... a baby was kidnapped. Sami Brady’s baby. You show up here leaving a note under the door. Why?

Anna: It was, um... I, um...

Rafe: You what? What are you doing here? Now, tell me who you are and what you know.

Anna: Well, it wasn't my idea.

Bo: So you're putting a stop to it?

Hope: We're going. I'll go get her.

Bo: No, you're not going anywhere. You had your chance to talk. Now it's my turn.

Hope: Okay. Talk.

Bo: Thank you. No matter what you say, my concern has always been with our daughter. We need to figure out why she would do something like this, 'cause this is not like her. She never would have done something like this before.

Hope: Before what? You think I have so little dignity that I would badmouth you and Carly to our little girl? Never have. Never will. And the idea that you would think so little--

Bo: I am not trying to lay blame on anyone. I am trying to make sense of this, that's all.

Hope: Oh, really? Who isn't?

Ciara: Mommy, Daddy, please stop fighting.

Melanie: Oh, the floral guy, he says he's completely booked and he can't even start to measure the flowers--

Vivian: Oh, no, no, no, leave that to me, darling. I have the best one in Manhattan. He's absolutely the best in the world. I'll give him a call in the morning.

Melanie: Ah.

Vivian: M-m-m-mmm! Now, now, you have to be patient.

Melanie: That's the thing I'm worst at. Even when I'm lying in bed, I'm like, eight hours till morning? Oh, why can't somebody speed that up?

Vivian: Oh, you are such a funny girl. And I know this is something old that people say, but things, really good things come to those who wait.

Melanie: Yeah, I'm more of a you snooze you lose type.

Vivian: You're young, you'll learn.

Melanie: I'm not so sure.

Vivian: Yes, well, things happen, people change... and it's really a pity that some people sacrifice things in the name of love.

EJ: Nee-eee-eeh-oh, whoa! Nee-eeh... [Gasps] Fire truck. There you go. It's gonna be good. Just you me and your sister.

Rafe: What wasn't your idea?

Anna: Nothing, I--I--I shouldn't have said that.

Rafe: It's too late. Tell me what wasn't your idea, lady.

Sami: Rafe!

Rafe: Tell me.

Sami: Hey, what is going on? Anna, what are you doing here?

Melanie: Sacrifices for love, that was a total non sequitur.

Vivian: Not really.

Melanie: What did you mean, Vivian?

Kate: I'd like to know too.

Vivian: Well... looks like we're gonna have to change the locks.

Kate: Answer the question. What sacrifices were you talking about, Vivian?

Vivian: I was just talking to Melanie about her wedding with Philip. This poor child has had to make a lot of sacrifices in the name of love.

Kate: Spending time with you, you mean?

Melanie: Well, that is my cue--you know, I don't wanna get in the way of all this fun. I'm just--thank you so much. I'm just gonna go over here and--and, uh, grab my--grab my things here. So you ladies, you--

Vivian: Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah! Remember? I'm going to give this to you at the wedding. You leave this here, you little devil.

Melanie: Fine. Thank you for everything. Kate... bye.

Hope: Sweetheart, hey. I'm sorry, Mommy and Daddy were just trying to figure things out, that's all. You know sometimes we get a little loud.

Bo: Hey, there, little one.

Hope: Sweetie, we need to go, okay?

Ciara: Why, because Daddy's mad at me?

Bo: Oh, no, no, no, no. No, I'm not mad at you. Yeah, I'm disappointed at what you did here, but I could never be mad at you, okay? I love you.

Ciara: I love you too.

Bo: Okay, give me a hug.

Hope: Come on. Come on, my love. Let's go sweetheart. Oh, good girl. Okay, let's put this around your neck.

Sami: I guess introductions aren't necessary.

Rafe: Actually, they are.

Sami: Okay. Uh, this is Anna DiMera. She's a longtime friend of the family, and this is Rafe Hernandez. He's my... um, he's, um, he's helping me find Sydney. [Clearing throat]

Anna: It's a pleasure to meet you.

Rafe: Well, maybe you'll tell your old friend Sami here what you were doing since you didn't wanna fill me in.

Anna: I didn't fill you in because you were pushy and obnoxious. Anyway, the note explains everything. I'm in town for two seconds on business and, um, even though my schedule's just bananas, I--I thought I'd stop by and offer you my good wishes and prayers for the safe return of your little girl.

Sami: Who told you?

Anna: Roman and Carrie.

Sami: Well, thank you, Anna, for coming all this way. I really appreciate it. That's very nice.

Anna: Well, I wish I could stay longer, but I really need to go.

Sami: No, um... no way.

Anna: Pardon?

Sami: You have to stay. You have to stay for a visit.

Anna: No, honey, sweetie, I would really love to, but I have to--

Sami: Well, you have to. Come on, I mean, we haven't seen each other in a really long time--we could--we could take a little bit of time to catch up.

Anna: Yeah, you know, the thing is, I'm really--

Sami: Anna, I'm not taking no for an answer.

Bo: How... how can she do this?

Carly: I'm so sorry. I--I knew that this wouldn't be easy for Ciara, but I--I didn't realize...

Bo: What are you doing?

Carly: I'm moving out.

Bo: No.

Carly: Yes.

Bo: No, you're not going anywhere--you're not going anywhere. I can't lose you on top of everything else. Come here.

Hope: Whoo, it's cold, sweetheart. Okay, careful getting up there. Here, let me help you. Okay, let me take this scarf off. Yikes--okay. Listen, sweetie, Mommy wants to talk to you about something, okay? Um, I understand that--and why you're upset that Mommy and Daddy aren't together. But sweetheart, destroying other people's property, it's--it's bad, I mean, really--it's really bad. Listen, if you get upset or angry, what you need to do is, you need to talk about it. You need to get it out, okay? So I want you to talk to me. Or the doctor. All right, do you understand? Okay. I love you, sweetheart.

Ciara: I love you too.

Hope: It's gonna be okay, baby. It's gonna be okay.

Justin: There they are. The two most beautiful girls in Salem. Hey, come here, give me a hug. I need a hug. Aw, I missed you, kiddo.

Ciara: Missed you too.

Justin: Hey, would you do something for me? Would you take this money, right here, and go right over there and buy yourself a big cup of hot chocolate? And make sure they put some extra whipped cream on it, okay? All right, there you go. Off you go. Yeah, right there. So how'd it go? Did you talk to Bo about Carly having a daughter?

Hope: It never came up.

Justin: What?

Hope: Something more pressing came to my attention.

Sami: Not to be rude, Rafe, but, um, what are you doing here?

Rafe: Just came to pack up the rest of my things. Which I will do while you two catch up. Look, sorry about all that drama.

Sami: Hey, I'm used to it. I'll make us some tea.

Anna: No, no, don’t. Sami, really, I--I--I can't stay long. I-- hey, how--how are the rest of your kids?

Sami: Oh, uh, they're great. Will is doing really well and Johnny and Allie are growing quickly. Um, I just try to keep them away from all the stress of, um... of Sydney’s disappearance. I worry about her a lot, you know? It's more than worry. It's a nightmare.

Anna: I can only imagine.

Sami: I don't understand what kind of monster would do something like this. I mean, what kind of sick maniac would... would keep a little girl away from her mother?

Kate: Well, looks like I got here just in the nick of time.

Vivian: Get out of my house.

Kate: You're manipulating that poor girl. You're using Melanie as a weapon to get revenge on me.

[Cell phone ringing]

Vivian: Excuse me, I have to get this. And if you're not out by the time I get back, I will have you physically removed.

Kate: You will not steal my thunder, Vivian. You will not steal my son.

Maggie: Hey.

Melanie: Hi, Maggie.

Maggie: I'm making some chamomile, you want a cup of tea?

Melanie: Yeah. I need something soothing.

Maggie: Is everything all right?

Melanie: You know, for someone who's never had a mom, I certainly have them coming out of my ears right now. Don't worry, I love you the most. So don't you be jealous.

Maggie: I'm not. I know we have a very special connection, you and I.

Melanie: We do.

Maggie: Did Kate find you?

Melanie: How did you know?

Maggie: Well, she came by here looking for you. And I told her you were with Vivian, and so, I hope that's okay.

Melanie: Yeah, that's fine. Uh, Maggie?

Maggie: Mm-hmm?

Melanie: Since I love and trust you the most of all my moms... I have something very important to ask you.

Anna: Oh, Sami, what you must be going through. I--with your daughter missing and it's just... well, I don't know how you get through the day.

Sami: Sometimes I barely do.

Anna: Well, maybe you need to be alone.

Sami: No, Anna, wait. Look, I really want--I wanna talk to you about Sydney.

Anna: Why?

Anna: Well, because you and Tony, you lived in the DiMera mansion when Sydney was just a baby, right? You must have gotten to know her.

Anna: Oh, honey, I--you know, I actually, I did a lot of traveling before Tony died. And I never really got a real chance to, um, spend any quality time with precious Sydney. Who you know, of course, we all thought she was Nicole’s little girl.

Sami: Well, Nicole’s in jail. Where she belongs. And soon the woman who kidnapped Sydney will be right there beside her. I just can't help thinking about how much Sydney has changed. You know--I mean, it's been a couple weeks since I last saw her, and they grow so quickly. And I just worry, you know? I pray she's not suffering. That she's being treated well.

Anna: Oh, she is--she is.

Sami: How do you know that?

Melanie: Well, as you know, uh, we have two mothers of the groom that will be at the wedding, even though both of them absolutely hate each other. I don't even wanna think about-- that's beside the point. Um... I was hoping that maybe you would be mother of the bride. Yeah, I know, I know, it's, um, your and Mickey’s anniversary, so if you don't even wanna go to the wedding, I totally understand.

Maggie: Melanie, I would be so honored.

Melanie: Really?

Maggie: Yes.

Melanie: Oh, yay!

Maggie: Mmm...

Carly: Okay, I'm all unpacked.

Bo: Thank you. Thank you for staying.

Carly: I made another decision.

Bo: What's that?

Carly: I'm not going to Melanie’s wedding. It's too risky. Vivian might sense something.

Bo: Yeah. It's best that you keep your distance for now. Listen to me, sometime very soon you'll be able to share in your daughter's life. I'll see to that.

Carly: And I promise I will do everything I can to help you with Ciara. It's just the idea that Hope would wanna keep the two of you apart, it's heartbreaking.

Bo: Don't worry. It's not gonna happen.

Hope: It's just so unlike her. She's never done anything like this before.

Ciara: Thank you, Uncle Justin.

Justin: You're more than welcome. Hey--

Hope: You know what, I'm gonna grab one of those. Would you like one?

Justin: Yeah, that would be great.

Hope: Okay.

Justin: Here, why don't you take her chair? You all right? Hey, you know something? I think there might be a little too much whipped cream, actually in the hot chocolate.

Ciara: No, silly.

Justin: Don't worry. I'm gonna fix it. Hold on. There we go. There ya go. Much better.

[Both laughing]

Hope: This is all so wrong. All of it.

Justin: Oh, that's not bad.

Sami: Anna, answer me. Why are you so sure that Sydney is being treated well?

Anna: Well, I'm sure because, I mean, who could--who could harm such a beautiful little girl? She's perfect. And she's such a sweetie and... that's all I really meant. Look, Sami, you just have to stay strong and you'll get your little girl back someday, hmm?

Sami: Right. Thanks.

Anna: Mm-hmm.

Rafe: I'm all set.

Anna: Well, I have stayed here far too long, so, um, I really have to go.

Sami: Anna, thank you so much for coming and letting me talk about Sydney. It really, um, lifted my spirits.

Anna: Well, I'm glad.

Sami: And uh, you gave me hope. So thank you.

Anna: Yeah, we'll talk soon, huh?

Sami: What? You've got this look on your face.

Rafe: Your friend Anna, she didn't seem jumpy to you?

Sami: That's just Anna.

Rafe: Well, you two seem pretty tight.

Sami: We're not, actually, at all. Um, she hates Stefano, so I guess we have that in common. What are you thinking?

Rafe: Sydney... it's what I'm always thinking about. I should get going. Yeah. Listen, I know... I know that I've said this a lot, Sami, but each day we get closer to finding--finding Sydney. We're gonna get her back.

Melanie: You mean it? You'll be my mommy at the wedding?

Maggie: I will indeed. With great pleasure.

Melanie: Oh, you have no idea how much that means to me.

Maggie: And to me. I'm already planning it.

Melanie: Oh, gosh.

Maggie: Melanie?

Melanie: Uh, I'm just thinking.

Maggie: About?

Melanie: As much as I'm looking forward to this wedding too, I kind of... oh, God, I can't wait till it's all over, so I can get on with my life.

Vivian: Oh, thank God she's gone.

Gus: Who's gone, Madame?

Vivian: Kate DiMera, that wretched woman. She dares to point a finger at me after what she's done. Yecch, I don't wanna talk about her.

Gus: Whatever you say, Madame.

Vivian: I wanna talk about happy things like the wedding for one. Oh, by the way, I have decided to give the bride to be her gift on her wedding day. Don't you think that's a good idea?

Gus: Wholeheartedly.

Vivian: Yes, well--uh... what happened? Where's the gift? What-- it's gone. It’s... Kate.

Kate: Well, I'm sure Vivian must think she's clever trying to buy my future daughter-in- law's affection with gifts. Hmm... probably an extravagant gift. Hmm... bye-bye, pretty package. Bye-bye. That said, you've got to wonder what's in here. Wonder what she got her.

Sami: Oh, god, Anna, I hope you're right. I hope Sydney’s being treated well.

Anna: Oh, sweetie. You seem kinda sad. Almost as sad as your mommy looked. You know, I didn't even realize until I saw it for myself--

Sydney: Oh.

Anna: How much she misses you, hmm? Oh, Sydney. I don't even know anymore. Am I doing the right thing helping your daddy, keeping you from your mommy? Mm-hmm.

[Doorbell rings]

EJ: Ah, Rafael Hernandez. It's an unexpected visit, isn't it?

Rafe: Well, I've got a question for you. Felt it couldn't wait... about your sister-in-law. Anna DiMera.

Kate: Why were you so afraid to let her open that, Vivian?

Sami: It's just better if he stays as far away from me as possible.

Rafe: Is it just me, or do you suddenly seem really nervous?
