Hope: Maggie... it was a lovely ceremony.
Maggie: Oh. My Mickey touched so many lives, didn't he?
Hope: Yes, he did.
Maggie: You know, I need to go and check and make sure we have enough food.
Hope: No, no. I'll handle that. I'll take care of it. I want you to sit down and relax, okay? I'll take care of it.
Maggie: Hope, thank you. Please, but I need to keep busy.
Julie: Grandma is ensconced in the den. And she's visiting with Aunt Marie and Uncle Bill.
Doug: And where's Bo? He didn't come back to the house?
Hope: Obviously not.
Carly: Hi, I thought you'd be at the service.
Bo: It's over. Everyone went over to Maggie's.
Carly: Everybody but you.
Bo: I'm on my way over there, but I wanted to give Hope some time. Plus, I need to fill out this prescription for Mrs. H. Bill checked her blood pressure, it's kinda high.
Carly: That's just--losing a child like that--poor Alice. Get your prescription and please, just go to Maggie's. Go--go be with your family.
Melissa: Oh, Mom.
Maggie: Oh, Melissa, my sweetheart. Do you have any idea how good it is to see you?
Melissa: Mom, I feel so bad I missed the funeral. The whole time on the plane, I was going out of my mind. And the storm was so bad...
Maggie: It's okay.
Melissa: I didn't think they were gonna let us take off.
Maggie: But you're here now. You're here now. Okay, that's all that matters.
Melissa: I wanted to come home for Christmas. I did. I came so close to booking a flight.
Maggie: I know, I know, you told me.
Melissa: But with work and everything--
Maggie: I know, you were busy. We understood. We understood. I remember telling Dad next year.
Maggie: Yeah, yeah.
Melissa: Next year.
Melanie: Uh, hey, do you want one? They're really yummy.
Melissa: No, thank you.
Melanie: I don't think I've met you. Did you used to work for Mickey?
Nathan: Mommy, hey.
Melissa: Hey, sweetie.
Nathan: So glad you got here.
Melissa: So good to see you.
Nathan: You got here safe.
Melissa: I've missed you. You look good.
Nathan: You look great.
[Knock at door]
Brady: I'll get it. No way.
EJ: Brady. I just came to offer my condolences.
Brady: Send a card. You're not welcome here.
Rafe: Could really use a cup of coffee, but, uh, by the looks of things you're closed.
Arianna: Um, out of respect for Mickey Horton, yes. But, uh, I can definitely get you that coffee.
Rafe: All right. It's cold out there.
Arianna: Yeah, I know, right?
Arianna: So is there anything new on Sydney's kidnapping?
Rafe: Yeah, as a matter of fact there is.
Stefano: Hmm. Very interesting. Mm-hmm.
Vivian: We know, Carly gave birth to a girl.
Victor: Yes, now all we have to do is find her.
Vivian: Why do you say it like that? Don't you think I will?
Victor: Oh, I have every faith in you Vivian. And in is as much as there are only about 150,000 females in Salem. Should be a snap.
Vivian: You think I'm cowed by the difficulty of this endeavor?
Victor: Trying to read the paper here, Viv.
Vivian: Carly broke my nephew's heart. Humiliated him beyond the depths of his being, bearing another man's child.
Victor: You forgot the part about where she stabbed him to death.
Vivian: Does she have any remorse? Not a wit. Cold-blooded bitch. I may not have been able to avenge his honor, while he was alive, but I'll avenge it now.
Anna: Look at you, my sweetheart. You're as anxious to hear from your daddy as I am, aren't you? Oh, he better call soon. I'll tell you that, sweet Sydney. [Chuckles] Because if he thinks he can put off Auntie Anna forever, he's in for a very rude awakening.
Vivian: We know Carly has a daughter and we suspect she's in Salem. What are you thinking?
Victor: Well, I’m wondering if--if Carly's reached out to her yet. And if she has, has anyone observed her doing so?
Vivian: Well, I certainly haven't ever seen-- who the hell is that? Oh, my... good God. Victor, I know who Carly's daughter is.
EJ: Are you authorized to turn people away, Brady?
Brady: You don't belong here.
EJ: Well, I just came to say that Mickey was a fine man. And I mourn his passing. If that's objectionable to anybody...
Doug: Brady, it's okay.
EJ: Thank you. I won't stay long. Uh, you know when I first came to Salem, everybody discovered I was a DiMera. Nobody would give me the time of day. The one exception to that was Mickey. I had the privilege of working for him at his law firm. And he was not just a mentor to me, but he was also a great friend. I mourn his loss. Would you please give my condolences to Maggie? Thank you.
Hope: EJ. Thank you for coming. And please know I am praying for Sydney's safe return.
EJ: Thank you, Hope. I appreciate you extending yourself during this time of such a terrible loss. Your words are a great comfort to me.
Arianna: Okay, but that's not new, because Nicole already said that she knew the kidnapper.
Rafe: Right. But consider the circumstances. This woman had to have known that Nicole was in Cleveland. So she was able to get to her on a moment's notice.
Arianna: Someone working for Stefano.
Rafe: Right, but we already know that Stefano is innocent.
Rafe: In fact, we know that both the original suspects, Stefano and Nicole are innocent. So now, I finally know what my next step is.
Arianna: What's that?
Rafe: Oh, what every detective does when he hits a wall. Goes back to the scene of the crime.
Stefano: I would like to speak to Mr. Davis. Yes, I'll hold on. Hmm. So Elvis thinks he can best the man who taught him everything, huh? Well, he's about to learn a little lesson from the master.
Victor: Who? Who is it? Who's Carly's daughter?
Vivian: I'm not going to say until I'm certain. But I have a strong suspicion about a young woman that Carly showed a great deal of interest in.
Victor: Where are you going?
Vivian: I'm going to get the truth straight from the horse's mouth.
Vivian: I'll see you in hell, Carly Manning. A bientôt.
Carly: No, no, no. Get me out of here. Somebody please get me out of here. I can't be stuck in here. Oh, somebody help me! Vivian, you can torment me all you want, but I will kill you before you lay a hand on my daughter.
Bo: Hey. Uh, I have, uh, Mrs. H's medication.
Hope: Thank you.
Bo: I'll just get it to her and get out of here.
Hope: Bo. You can stay if you'd like.
Maggie: Another arrangement. I don't think they're all gonna fit in the sunroom. Aw.
Mia: Why don't we take some of them down to the hospital?
Melanie: Yeah, yeah.
Maggie: Yes, we could do that.
Maggie: What a great idea, Mia.
Melanie: Let's go.
Nathan: Oh, there's someone I want you to meet.
Melissa: Okay. Oh, you must be Melanie. I've heard so much about you.
Arianna: Be careful, okay?
Rafe: Mm-hm. See you.
Arianna: Okay, thanks.
Troy: She's alone. It's time for you to finish your job. Next funeral in this town is gonna be yours, Senorita Hernandez.
Melissa: Oh, Stephanie Johnson.
Melissa: Of course, I'm sorry. I haven't seen you since you were a little girl.
Stephanie: It's okay, it's totally fine.
Melissa: I am so sorry about the mix up.
Nathan: It's okay, she's tough.
Maggie: Oh, excuse me for interrupting, your Aunt Sarah is looking for you.
Nathan: Okay, see you guys in a sec.
Melissa: Bye, honey.
Melissa: Again, I'm sorry about the confusion.
Stephanie: Don't worry about it.
Melissa: The only reason I knew of Melanie was my mother had mentioned her. But I should have known right away. My mom said that Melanie was a bit of a troubled soul. And clearly, that's not you.
Bo: I'm surprised you wanted me to stay.
Hope: Today's about Maggie and Gran, not about us.
Bo: I'm sorry I hurt you.
Hope: I thought I had time to figure out what to do about us. I was a fool.
Bo: No, you're not a fool.
Hope: I hurt you too. And I know you think that I'm so self-righteous, and maybe I come off that way sometimes when I'm angry and upset and not quite myself. But the truth is, that I am partly responsible for what happened as well. There... so now that we're both so reasonable, why does it-- it feels like there's no going back now.
Carly: [Gasps] I'm busy.
Vivian: I was just wondering where I could get a nice... cup of coffee.
Melanie: Yikes. I feel bad for whichever candy striper has to water these.
Mia: I know, ha, and feed them too.
Melanie: I'm just kinda glad to be out of that reception. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we could help Maggie, but it's just hard coming up with new things to say.
Vivian: Well, this must be my lucky day.
Brady: How you doin'?
Arianna: Hi. How was Maggie?
Brady: Uh, she's pretending to be okay. Taking care of everyone else besides herself.
Brady: Is, uh, something wrong?
Arianna: Oh, no, no, no. Just, um, got a lot to do before we open today. I'm good.
Brady: Let me help. I can help.
Arianna: I got it.
Brady: What do you need?
Arianna: Thank you. I have it.
Brady: I still think something's bothering you.
Arianna: No, no, I'm just, you know, a little stressed out. I just wanna make sure it all gets done. We don't open too late.
Arianna: It's all under control.
Brady: Okay, I'll see ya.
Arianna: Thank you. All right, take care.
Anna: Naughty Daddy. After everything I've done to help him, he can't even return my phone calls? Well, maybe it's time to shake things up a bit. Hm-hm-hm.
Stefano: What made you think that I would not find out?
EJ: Find out about what?
Stefano: Well, what you have been doing behind my back. Selling millions of dollars worth of DiMera stocks for bargain-basement prices.
EJ: I wasn't doing that behind your back. I don't caddy now.
Stefano: Mm-hm. Well, then maybe you wouldn't mind telling me why you're doing it.
Rafe: Hmm. I would actually like to know the same thing.
Maggie: Come on.
Nathan: What do you mean, one more gift?
Maggie: Your grandfather was able to get your latest arrest expunged from your record.
Nathan: Really? I didn't even know he was working on that.
Maggie: Well, one of his associates dropped by the paperwork.
Nathan: That's great.
Maggie: Your grandfather was always looking out for you, Nathan.
Nathan: I know he was and... I promised in his memory, I'm gonna stay out of trouble.
Maggie: Or at least out of jail.
Hope: I can't help remembering the last funeral. I wasn't by your side leaning on you.
Bo: Our little Zack.
Hope: [Sobs] I'm so tired of saying good-bye to people I love.
Vivian: Melanie! I've been meaning to call you. We've fallen behind on your wedding plans.
Melanie: Miss Alamain, I thought that Philip and I made it clear, we don't--
Vivian: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm being so rude. What was your name, sweetheart?
Vivian: Oh, lovely. Wonderful bones. Maybe you got those from your mother?
Mia: Uh, yeah, I guess so.
Vivian: Well, I must be going. Call me, Melanie. And I hope to see you around, Mia.
Mia: Uh, she's--hm, she's strange.
Melanie: Yeah, you really don't know the half of it. Oh, speaking of strange.
Stefano: How the hell did you get in here?
Rafe: Uh, the door was open.
Stefano: Oh, that damn Harold. Never remembers to lock the doors.
Rafe: It wouldn't have mattered if he had.
EJ: You know, I certainly appreciate your thoroughness. Uh... Rafe, we have all given our statements.
Rafe: Well, true. But you never know what you might, um, uncover. For instance, this sudden liquidation of DiMera assets, EJ? Now, what's that all about? What's the sudden need for cash?
Anna: You know, your Uncle Tony never did trusted your father completely. He always had a contingency plan. And now, so do I. And spending more time with you, my darling, would just be icing on the cake.
Hope: Justin. Thank you for coming.
Justin: Of course. I'm sorry I missed the funeral.
Hope: No, it's okay. I'm glad you're here now.
Bo: I'll give you guys some privacy.
Nathan: Mom, you are definitely overreacting, okay? It's--
Melissa: You didn't tell me about this, Nathan.
Nathan: That's because it wasn't a big deal. All right? I didn't want you to worry.
Melissa: Well, shouldn't I know if my son is in jail?
Nathan: Yes. Look, I already told you, it wasn't a big deal. Both times were so stupid.
Melissa: Both? And both times it had to do with Melanie Layton.
Nathan: Well, no. Yes, it--look, it doesn't mean that she was to blame.
Melissa: Well, she must be in some way.
Melissa: Look, I don't get a good feeling about this girl.
Nathan: Okay, fine, you don't have--what does it matter anyway? She's--she's engaged to be married and--what does it matter what you feel about her? Or how I feel about her?
Melissa: Look, why are you getting so upset with me?
Nathan: I'm not upset with you--I'm--[Sighs] With Grandpa Mickey and all this going on--look, I'm sorry. I'm--I am--
Melissa: I worry about you.
Nathan: Mom, I'm fine. I just--I just wanted to reassure you that anything that I had with Melanie is done. Okay? And I plan to keep my distance from her from now on. All right? I'm sorry.
Carly: That--that ring on your finger, I don't think I've noticed that before.
Melanie: Uh, it's an engagement ring.
Carly: I got that. Who's the lucky guy? Dr. Horton?
Melanie: You are out of the loop, aren't you?
Carly: I don't--I don't talk to a lot of people.
Melanie: Obviously. I'm getting married to Philip Kiriakis.
Mia: Look, uh, we should get back to Maggie's.
Carly: Listen, I'm--I'm so sorry for your loss.
Melanie: Come on, Mia.
Man: Hands in the air.
Arianna: Okay. Just, um, please don't--don't shoot, okay?
Man: Shut up.
Arianna: Don't shoot me.
Man: Go to the register. Empty it.
Man: Do it now.
Arianna: Okay, okay.
EJ: [Clears throat] Well, hmm, not that I owe either one of you an explanation, but I'm simply divesting myself of all things DiMera. I'm establishing my own identity.
Rafe: By selling your stock?
EJ: You catch on very quickly.
Rafe: Even though it's at a loss?
EJ: Money is not the issue here. The issue here is getting some self respect. I would like to establish a good name for myself and my children. In order to do that, I'm getting rid of some of my father's tainted assets.
Rafe: All right. Well, hey, it sounds like a plan. Anyhow, if you'll excuse me, I've got a long list of people to question. So I'll see ya.
EJ: Long list?
EJ: I mean, there's only Mary and Harold here.
Rafe: Right. Okay, a short list then. Oh, you know what? Actually, reminds me, I have this, uh, you might find it useful... since babies change so quickly. Not that I have to tell you that. Anyway, it's an updated sketch of Sydney. I'll see you.
Stefano: Che bella ragazza. My precious little Sydney.
EJ: She's not your little anything, father.
Stefano: I miss that child.
EJ: Well, you go ahead and you miss her. You can get all sentimental about it if you'd like. You can cry yourself to sleep for all I care.
Stefano: You cynical fool. I don't miss that child because of any sentimentality, do you understand? I miss her simply because I love her. Period!
EJ: Well you get used to loving her from afar. Because when I get her back, I'm keeping her well away from you.
Arianna: There isn't much in here. We haven't opened yet, and we banked everything last night.
Arianna: No, no, I'm not lying--see look. This is it--you can see for yourself this is all I've got. Please. No-- oh, god. Brady!
Brady: Son of a bitch!
Arianna: Brady, be careful please!
Julie: But no matter how much trouble I got into, and there was plenty, Uncle Mickey was always there for me. Bless his kind generous heart. He always managed to lift my spirits. Not just mine, I know that's true of every person in this room. Each of us is a better person today, just for having known Mickey Horton.
Hope: And I remember a night recently when Uncle Mickey and Maggie took Ciara and me out to dinner. And all through dinner Uncle Mickey was so focused on Ciara, asking about her school, her friends, her--when we got home, Ciara said that he was the kindest man in the world. He was incredibly kind. And very loving. He met his match in you, Maggie. You two were the perfect match. Your marriage, it was an inspiration to all of us.
Nathan: My grandpa used to come visit us in Nashville. And he would always tell me stories about when he met my grandma Maggie and how they fell in love, and all that stuff that little boys don't want to hear about and don't care about. Uh, one story always stuck out to me. It was--it's really just stayed in my mind. It was after she had surgery and she could walk again, I always always saw in my grandfather's eyes how much he loved my grandma Maggie. I just hope that someday I'm gonna meet someone that I can love like that too.
Melissa: And Mom and Dad adopted me. They probably had no idea what they were in for. But both of them, they--they not only put up with me, they loved me unconditionally and supported me, whatever I did. I was so lucky--am so lucky.
Melanie: Me, I didn't-- I didn't know Mickey very well. He was away a lot, so I just knew him through Maggie. But, um, we all know he was very smart, because he chose the most amazing, beautiful, caring, generous woman in the whole world to be his wife. You're the best role model anybody could ask for. I just hope that when I grow up I'm 1/1000 of the woman that you are.
Maggie: Thank you, Melanie. I wouldn't be half the woman that I am today if it wasn't for my husband. My Mickey. As most of you know, I lost my own family. And I was living on the farm all by myself. And then one day, a handsome stranger came up to my backdoor. Since it's nearly dark, why don't you, uh, sleep in the barn tonight and leave in the morning?
Mickey: Well, thank you. You've been very kind to me.
Maggie: A man traveling on the road needs encouragement once in a while. [Sighs] Oh, I thank God every day for sending Mickey my way. And I thank all of you for lifting my spirits today and always.
Doug: To Mickey!
All: To Mickey.
Brady: Damn it, you know, if--if that car hadn't pulled out in front of me, I might have had a chance at the guy--
Arianna: Hey, shh... it's fine, okay. Just try not to move.
Arianna: Cops better catch that guy.
Arianna: Well, it's gonna be a little bit difficult since we couldn't I.D. his face.
Brady: I'm just glad I showed up--my God, I... if anything would've happened to you I don't... I don't wanna think about it, you know?
Victor: Well, judging from that smug little smirk on your face, I take it you made some progress.
Vivian: Oh, I did indeed. I spoke to Carly's daughter.
Victor: So you do know who she is.
Vivian: I am 99% sure. In fact, I'm maybe 99 and 3/4--
Victor: Stop throwing percentages at me and tell me who she is.
Vivian: Ask nicely.
Victor: Forget it. I've lost interest.
Vivian: Victor, do not walk out of this room.
Victor: Then stop playing games and tell me who she is. Who is Carly's bastard child?
Vivian: Carly's long-lost daughter is a little blonde haired moppet named Mia.
Carly: Oh, God! Oh! What are you doing--what are you doing back here?
Bo: Why are you so upset?
Carly: I ran into Melanie and Mia.
Carly: The truth is, I don't know if it's instinctual on her part, but my daughter hates me. Bo, Melanie hates me.
Rafe: Yeah, for now.
Stefano: Ah, you do know, don't you--I mean, that Elvis can be--uh, I don't know, quite, how can I put it-- duplicitous?
Stefano: Meaning, you better keep an eye on him. It seems that he and Samantha are getting closer and closer all the time. You know... watch yourself.
Anna: So Rafe didn't suspect anything about the money?
EJ: No. I covered expertly, didn't I, sweetheart?
Anna: Well, I sure hope this ransom drop is happening soon.
EJ: It is, all right? Phase two of my plan comes into action very soon. [Speaks indistinctly] It's all for you, sweetheart. It's all for you.
Maggie: So I'll meet you at Chez Rouge? For the luncheon?
Hope: Oh, Maggie, I'll drive you.
Maggie: Oh, no, no. Sarah's uh--she's bringing the car around and I'm gonna go with her and Melissa.
Hope: Are you sure?
Hope: All right. I'll see you there.
Melissa: You ready, Mom?
Maggie: Um, I need to get my purse, and I'll meet you at the car.
Nathan: You okay?
Melanie: Why am I supposed to care why you do horrible things?
Gabi: I can tell, you're still into Mia.
EJ: I've orchestrated this entire plan.
Sami: This is my daughter's life we're talking about.
