Carly: I love you.
[Cell phone ringing]
Bo: Excuse me. Sorry.
Bo: Might be... it's Hope.
Melanie: Um...I gotta go.
[Keys jangle on floor]
Stephanie: Good, you're here.
Stephanie: Yeah, the more people around her, the better.
Philip: The more people around--what are you talking about?
Stephanie: Oh, my God, you didn't hear.
Philip: Hear what?
Stephanie: Philip, Mickey died.
Philip: Oh, man.
Anna: You know, this gizmo on the phone, I'm worried that it doesn't change my voice enough.
EJ: Anna, we've already discussed this.
Anna: Yeah, but what if Sami figures out it's me?
EJ: She's not going to figure out it's you, all right? Now, if you don't mind, I'm trying to think. So if you'd give me some peace and quiet, I'd appreciate it.
Anna: Think? About what? Have you changed your mind? Are you not going to go through with it?
Sami: I cannot believe that your phone is off, EJ. Call me! I just need to know if you've heard from the kidnappers yet. Look, just call me as soon as you get this.
Rafe: Wow, I am so sorry about that. I forgot how these F.B.I. guys like to talk. They just go on and on and...on. What's wrong? Who was that?
[Cell phone ringing]
Sami: Oh, it was--oh! Hey, EJ? Julie. No, sorry. I was just expecting a call from EJ. Never mind. What? Oh, my God. Oh, my God, no.
Nathan: What am I doing?
[Cell phone ringing]
Bo: She's returning my call. I'll let it go to voice mail.
Carly: No...no. It...might be about Ciara.
Bo: Hey, um...it's kind of a bad time. Can I call you back later?
Hope: Bo...it's important. Where are you?
Sami: I'm so sorry.
Rafe: What happened?
Sami: No, um...I wish I could come right now. I can't leave, but, um... I'm so sorry. No, no, we haven't heard any news on Sydney. No, I--I will. Hey, please just tell Maggie that I love her, okay? Thanks.
Rafe: Maggie? What happened?
Sami: Mickey is dead.
Rafe: I'm sorry.
EJ: No, I haven't changed my mind, okay? I didn't come this far just to turn around and go back. All right? You just have to make Mommy do what she's supposed to do, so Daddy gets to spend more time with his little girl.
Anna: You know, this has been going on so long, Sami must be out of her mind, beside herself by now.
EJ: Well, don't worry about that, okay? Just think about how happy she's going to be when the story ends wonderfully.
Anna: Yeah, when will that happen, hmm? Because I'm getting a little tired of being so scared and looking over my shoulder all the time. I mean, it's just... [Scoffs]
EJ: I suggest you stop thinking and just do what I tell you to do. All right? You're in this up to your eyeballs. You understand that?
Hope: It was awful. They were gonna take a cruise, go on vacation. [Crying] He was upstairs packing, and... [Sobbing] Oh, my god, Bo, she found him.
Bo: Uh, yeah, that's terrible, um... where is she? Where's Maggie?
Hope: She's at home.
Bo: All right, um, I'm on my way.
Hope: Bo, wait, um... listen, I, um... [Sniffles] I need to ask you a favor.
Bo: Anything. What is it?
Hope: Actually, I'm, um, I'm at the pub right now. And I need...
Bo: Hey, take a breath. Slow down.
Hope: I need to go to Uncle Mickey's office... and tell everyone there. Oh, God, they all loved him so much, Bo.
Bo: Hey, I'll do that.
Hope: No, if--if you, um... if you could just--just go with me, please.
Bo: Yeah, sure. Not a problem. Um, I'll be right there. Why don't you hang out with Ma for a little while, and I'm on my way.
Hope: Actually, um, my dad's meeting me here. Um, thank you.
Bo: Hey, you don't have... I'll see you soon.
Carly: What happened?
Bo: It, um... Mickey Horton died. Hope needs me.
Will: Hey, you okay? Hey, what's wrong?
Mia: [Sniffles] Your Aunt Maggie just called. Will, your Uncle Mickey died.
Mia: I'm so sorry.
Will: No, no, no, no, no. No, he was fine. No, he was coming to one of my games right after... they were about to go on a cruise. Oh, God, Aunt Maggie. He was everything to her.
Maggie: Mess--the message! Ah! I didn't press delete. Come on. Come on! The message, where is it? The message! The message! The message!
Lucas: I just heard.
Maggie: He sent me a message, and it was a text, and I just wanted to see it again on the phone, it won't come up. It won't come up! And it's the last thing he ever sent to me!
Lucas: I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, Aunt Maggie.
Maggie: I need to see the words. I need to see what he wrote to me.
Lucas: I know, I know. I know, I know. Shh, shh.
Sami: Hey, Will, it's your mom. Look, I really need you to call me. It's not about Sydney, it's just that there's something... there's just something I have to tell you. Call me as soon as you can. God. You know, Will was really close to Mickey. He was always there for him. And I just can't imagine what Maggie's going through right now.
Rafe: Well, she's got a strong family. That'll help.
Sami: She had Mickey. You know how Maggie was there, she's everywhere. You know, she has the restaurant, she has the hospital. She's always taking in kids and helping them out, giving them a room and a surrogate mother. She was able to do all that because she had Mickey by her side, at her back, helping her. And I can't even go to her.
Rafe: What do you mean you can't go to her? Of course you can. Listen, go, Sami. I'll look after Johnny. It's not a problem.
Sami: I can't... it's not that, it's... I told EJ I would meet him here. I'm waiting for him to show up.
Rafe: I'm sure that even EJ will understand.
Sami: What do I say? What do I say to Maggie? I have nothing to offer her. I mean, there's just something... there's something different about me, and I--I feel it. I don't know what it is, but I...
Rafe: What, Sami?
Sami: Like this is just officially too much. Whoever took Sydney... it's changed me. And I'm never going back. And I swear to God, when I find out who did this... I'm gonna kill 'em.
Anna: EJ, when...
Anna: When do you think this will all be over?
EJ: Soon. Very soon. You'll be back with me, hmm?
Hope: How's Julie?
Doug: Been on the phone for hours. Melissa, man, Melissa really took it hard.
Hope: Oh, god, Daddy, I... there was just no warning. I mean, it just happened so suddenly.
Doug: Yeah. Well, it's hard on everybody else, but I think that Mickey would have wanted it that way. I don't think he would have liked slowing down. You, uh, meeting Bo here?
Hope: Yeah, he said he'd be right here. Wonder what's keeping him.
Bo: No, she didn't want to ask me, but I don't think she could handle talking with people over at Mickey's office on her own.
Carly: No, I get it. You need to get to her. And I'm fine, okay? I want you to go. Don't worry about me.
Bo: Hey, uh, sorry I have to leave.
Carly: You do what you have to do. And know that I'm here if you need me, okay?
Melanie: You look upset.
Nathan: I am, at me. Grandpa Mickey is dead. And you're about to go get married. I mean, what am I thinking?
Melanie: You're not thinking. You just got carried away, that's all.
Nathan: Did I? Yeah...it was all me, and you had nothing to do with it, right? I mean, is that your story, Mel? Are you gonna stick with that?
Melanie: Come on, Nathan, you kissed me. I didn't--I didn't know you were gonna do that.
Nathan: You weren't exactly pushing me away.
Melanie: Yeah, well, I mean, I'm--I'm thinking about Mickey and Maggie right now. I'm not in the right state of mind. I don't...hey, there you are. Stephanie, hi.
Philip: Stephanie just told me about Mickey.
Melanie: Yeah. Philip, it's awful. It's awful.
Rafe: Sure you're gonna be okay?
Sami: Yeah. I'll be fine. So find Will. Bring him back, okay, so I can talk to him.
Rafe: Will do. Before I go, I want to say something, though. The way you're feeling right now...about the person who took Sydney... it's okay, Sami. They're putting you through hell. It's okay to hate them.
Sami: I just--I just feel out of control.
Rafe: Well, yeah, of course you do, and that's why I'm glad that you told me. You don't want to keep that all bottled up inside you. I just want you to know you can tell me anything... that's good or bad or... weird, kinky--whatever. Ah. Should I stay? Maybe I should stay.
Sami: No, I'm okay. I'm okay. Go get Will.
Rafe: You sure? You seem like you're a million miles away.
Sami: I'm just lucky. I'm lucky to have you there for me when I need you to lean on.
Rafe: We're going through this together, you know? A team.
Sami: I love you. All right.
Rafe: All right.
Sami: [Chuckles] Oh, my--uhh! EJ, this is not right. Mm! This is just not right!
EJ: You okay?
EJ: Hey, sweetheart. Daddy's gotta go. But I'm gonna be back really soon...okay? And then we're gonna be together. Forever this time.
Hope: I feel stupid, you know? I keep saying that I'm gonna file separation papers, like I'm that strong and independent, right? And then I think about having to go to Uncle Mickey's office and facing all of those people, and I say to myself, I can't do it. Not without Bo.
Doug: You haven't filed papers?
Doug: I think there must be a great part of you that doesn't want to.
Hope: Daddy, I can't live in limbo, either.
Doug: There's a lot of worse places than limbo. And I know I'm shooting my mouth off here, but until you are sure, sweetheart, until you are really sure, do not do anything that can't be undone.
Hope: The thing is, with Bo...I think it might already be too late.
Bo: Are you upset?
Carly: Hmm? No, I was thinking. You know what I was thinking about.
Bo: Oh, yeah. I'm sure she'll be fine.
Carly: Well, I don't know that much about my daughter, but the one thing I do know is how much Mickey and Maggie mean to her.
Bo: Yeah, well, listen, um... Hope and I are going over to Mickey's office, and then we'll head over to Maggie's. I'll call you, let you know how she's doing, okay?
Carly: Great, thanks. That'd be great. Thank you.
Bo: But don't worry if I don't get back to you really soon. I'm not sure how long we'll be over at Mickey's office.
Carly: Okay. You should go.
Bo: Uh, sorry I have to take off.
Carly: I'm not. It was a lovely afternoon.
Carly: [Sighs] You're just too young. Too young to go through this all alone.
Maggie: I'm so stupid. I got so mad, I threw the phone--threw it.
Lucas: It doesn't matter. Don't worry about the phone.
Maggie: It matters! I got a message from Mickey. It's the last thing he ever sent to me, and I can't get it back. And it's gone!
Lucas: All right, I have a friend that can retrieve anything off these. I promise you I will find it, all right?
Lucas: You want to talk about it? You want to tell me what it said?
Maggie: Let me see. Ohh.
[Crying] He called me red, like he always does.
Lucas: Yeah. Yeah.
Maggie: He said, um, he said he was so glad that I talked him into taking our little trip.
Lucas: You see? He was thinking about you. He was thinking about you and taking a trip with you. He wasn't feeling any pain at all; he was feeling good.
Maggie: But I wasn't there.
Lucas: I know, I know you weren't, but he knew you were coming back. He was thinking about the love of his life, the woman that he loved. I mean, Maggie, if you're gonna go, that's the only way to go, right?
Maggie: Yeah, you're right, I guess.
Lucas: Listen to me--he was a great man. But he was damn lucky to have you. You know that.
Maggie: Lucas... what am I gonna do without him? What am I gonna do without him? [Sobbing] He was my everything.
Lucas: I know, I know.
Melanie: I just came by to get something borrowed, and then Maggie told me about Mickey. She told me she wants me to be happy and go get married to you in Vegas. I don't--
Nathan: Oh, um, I'm gonna go check on my great grandma.
Melanie: This isn't about me. This is about, ohh! This is about Maggie... and Mickey, right now.
Philip: Yeah, I think we should go in.
Stephanie: Uh, Philip, you go in. Melanie needs to--should probably wash her face.
Stephanie: Yeah, we'll make some tea and bring it in.
Philip: Right. Man, what am I gonna say to her?
Melanie: I need to wash my face?
Stephanie: No, we need to talk.
EJ: Samantha, what is going on? You left me 13 messages, darling.
Sami: You didn't listen to them?
EJ: No, I just, you know, I came over here as quick as I could. Why? Did something happen?
Sami: Oh, my God, EJ, our daughter is missing, and you can't be bothered to listen to my messages?
EJ: All right, Samantha, why don't we just take a breath and calm down, please.
Sami: No, no, I'm not gonna calm down. We haven't heard from the kidnappers yet. We're getting this money for them. What if they don't really want the money? What if they're just torturing us?
EJ: That's not true, Samantha. That's not what they're doing.
Sami: You don't know! You don't know everything, EJ. I think you're wrong about not telling Rafe. I think we should tell him, and I'm going to tell him. I mean, I think he could really help us. He's the one who found Sydney for us in the first place, right?
EJ: Samantha, I--
Sami: No, you know what? I'm done listening to you! I am telling Rafe what happened. I'm telling him about the ransom note, and I don't care what you say!
Doug: I want you to tell me. What did you mean before when you said that Bo had done something that can't be undone?
Hope: I didn't say that, Daddy. I said I think it might be too late.
Doug: Has he said something?
Hope: No. And, Daddy, I don't want you to be mad at him. Okay? I mean...it's me. I--I'm the one who moved out with Ciara.
Doug: I'm not mad at Bo. I am sad for both of you.
Hope: And Ciara, I know. Maggie comes home and finds out... that she's never gonna be able to say good morning to Uncle Mickey again. Or be able to get mad at him for...not stopping to ask for directions. Or be able to move up against him in the middle of the night when she gets cold. But God took Uncle Mickey from her. I moved out. I just thought...
Doug: Sweetheart, you still have time. And you and Bo both love each other, whether you're willing to admit that or not.
Hope: That's what makes it so complicated.
Doug: Yeah. Okay. I'll see you later at Maggie's. But, honey... if you and Bo need to talk, take your time.
Hope: Maybe we don't need to talk. Maybe what I need to do... is just go home.
Rafe: Hey, Will.
Will: Hey, Rafe.
Rafe: Can I talk to you for a sec? Hey, Mia.
Will: What's up?
Rafe: Um, I guess you heard about Mickey?
Rafe: Your mom's been trying to call you.
Will: Yeah, my phone was dead. I--I ran into Mia, though, and she told me.
Rafe: Yeah, I'm really sorry.
Rafe: Look, the other thing your mom wanted me to ask you was if you could do your great grandmother a favor.
Will: Oh, yeah?
Rafe: Yeah, I guess she's really sick and... she made Maggie a casserole, and wants to know if you can go pick it up and then deliver it for her.
Will: Yeah, yeah. Oh, sure.
Rafe: Yeah, I said that I would do it, but, you know, your mom...she said your great grandmother wants to see you. And, uh...I guess it's not really about the casserole.
Mia: Go ahead, Will. Maggie has a lot of people here.
Sami: It is not your decision anymore. I am telling Rafe about the ransom note, and then I'm going to ask him what he thinks.
EJ: Okay, Samantha, just--
Sami: No, we're not talking about this, all right? I have made my decision.
EJ: All right, look, you said when he gets back--where is he? He left you here alone?
Sami: He went to go find Will because I... because I have to tell-- oh, God.
EJ: What? What's wrong?
Sami: I have to tell Will... that Mickey Horton is dead.
Sami: I can't believe it.
EJ: I'm sorry.
Sami: This just can't be happening.
EJ: I'm really sorry, Samantha.
Sami: It's just too much. It's too much death, and I can't stand it! I just can't take it anymore!
EJ: Okay. All right. We'll tell Rafe. We'll tell him.
Stephanie: You said you needed something borrowed, so why don't you take these?
Melanie: Stephanie, no.
Stephanie: Why not? I think they'd go good with your eyes.
Melanie: Thank you. Now that Philip's here, it doesn't feel right to just take off.
Stephanie: I think you and Philip should go. You said that's what Maggie wanted, right?
Melanie: It doesn't matter.
Stephanie: Look, Maggie's gonna have so many people here for the next few days. She's not gonna be alone. And plus, you know Nathan's not gonna let anything happen to her. I just--I think you and Philip should go and not worry about it.
Sami: You mean it? I can tell Rafe about the ransom note?
EJ: Yeah. I mean, I can see that you think that it's the right thing to do. We said that we were going through everything together, Samantha, so... you can tell him.
Sami: Thank you.
EJ: Look, it's really important to me that you know that you can trust me.
Bo: I'm glad your dad went over to Mickey's office. I--didn't want you to have to talk to those people.
Hope: Thank you. I'm sorry if I pulled you away from something. I mean, whatever it was.
Bo: Hey, hey. You lost Mickey. You're the priority. Do you want to go over to Maggie's now or what?
Hope: Maybe we could just sit here for a little while. I don't know if I'm ready to face my family yet.
Bo: Okay, sure.
Hope: And maybe, um... Bo, I was...
Hope: I was talking to my dad about us.
Hope: Mickey and Maggie... I mean, they've been through some really rough times too. And look what they had. Look at what we had.
Bo: What are you saying, Fancy Face?
Hope: What I'm saying is that...I was thinking that maybe Ciara--
Woman: Did you get Dr. Manning home from the hospital all right?
Bo: Yeah, yeah. She's fine.
Woman: It was strange to see her fall apart like that.
Woman: Good thing you were there this morning.
Bo: Thank you.
Hope: This morning? Seems to have...taken quite some time to calm Carly down. That's where you were when I called? That's why you couldn't talk? You slept with her, didn't you? [Crying] That's what you were doing when I... I called. [Sniffles]
Sami: Yeah, it's me. I just really need to talk to you, so, um, give me a call as soon as you get this.
[EJ speaking indistinctly]
Johnny: I think it's a dog.
EJ: It is a dog!
EJ: Hey, you get ahold of him?
Sami: I just left him a voice mail. It's bath time for you, buddy!
EJ: Oh, I think it's my turn!
Sami: Oh! You sure?
EJ: Yeah, ohh, I am an expert in baths. Now, let's see, what are we gonna do? [Gasps] Why don't we strap you to the roof of the car and put you through the car wash? Should we do that?
EJ: Wait a second, I know what we can do. We can put you in the washing machine.
EJ: Yeah! Oh, yes!
EJ: What do you wanna do?
Johnny: Go in the bath.
EJ: The bathtub? Agh! Ohh, that's horrible.
Will: I'm kind of worried about Mia.
Rafe: Well, does the fact that you broke up mean you still can't be friends?
Will: [Scoffs] Come on, Rafe, like that's ever worked.
Rafe: I know, I... knew that was dumb as it was coming out of my mouth, actually.
Will: But--but I still worry about her, you know? I mean, my mom can drive me crazy most of the time, but... it's good to know that I always have a mom that loves me.
Will: As for Mia... I mean, really, she only has Maggie.
Doug: And they all just decided to stay there at the office. They're calling all of Mickey's clients, rescheduling all his court cases.
Maggie: They don't want to leave. They want to stay together.
Doug: I have his clerk's email address.
Doug: Right, right. And I will email him when we know all the arrangements, and then he'll let everybody else know.
Maggie: He was... he's been with Mickey over 20 years. His son's getting married next...month. Lucas, don't let me forget, we have to get a present. A really nice one.
Lucas: Don't worry about it. I'll handle it, I promise you. Okay?
Maggie: Mickey always complained about going to weddings. He was always the last one to leave, though. I used to have to drag him out. [Tearful laugh]
Doug: Hopefully before he sang ‘That Old Gang of Mine.’
Maggie: Doug, what am I gonna do? [Sobbing] What am I gonna do?
[Knock on door]
Mia: I'll get it.
Philip: You okay?
Melanie: Philip, Stephanie gave me her earrings so that I'd have something borrowed.
Melanie: Yeah, she said we should go to Vegas and get married because that's what Maggie would want.
Philip: Well, that's not the question here. The question is what do you want to do?
Hope: Thank you for that.
Bo: Thank you?
Hope: For not trying to lie about it.
Bo: I'm sorry.
Hope: No, you're not.
Bo: Yes...I am. You're having a horrible day, and I made it worse.
Hope: Well, there's no reason to sit around and talk about it now, is there? I need to get to Maggie's.
Bo: Would you like me to drive you?
Hope: No, I wouldn't. In fact... I need to start learning how to...get through things alone.
Philip: Look, if you want to go, we go. If not...
Melanie: I don't think we should go. I mean, unless you really want to.
Philip: No, I was gonna leave it up to you, but...not now. If we went to Vegas, I don't think we could really forget what's going on back here, you know? And when we do get married, I want you to be happy. Really happy.
Melanie: Thank you. Let's go check on Maggie.
Hope: Maggie, I'm back.
Will: I better go get that casserole.
Rafe: Want me to go with you?
Will: Nah, it's okay. Uh, and besides, you gave me something to think about.
Rafe: Oh, yeah?
Will: Yeah. You know, maybe while Mia's going through all this, I could at least be her friend. You know, someone to talk to. I think the next couple of days could be really hard on her.
Rafe: Well, you might as well try, right? I don't think you'll regret it.
Rafe: See ya.
Anna: You are a lucky little girl, sweetheart. Your daddy loves you so much. And no one is ever gonna take you away from him again. Yeah.
EJ: Hey. He dropped off in the middle of the book. He'll be dreaming of wild things all night.
Sami: He fell asleep during his favorite book?
EJ: Mm-hmm, he did. That must be about the sixth time I've read that to him.
Sami: Six times tonight, huh? You really are a sucker for your kids.
EJ: Yes, I am.
Sami: 'Cause I know that you just want what's best for them. You want them to be safe.
EJ: Same as you.
Sami: I mean, I--I believe that, EJ. I believe that you--you care about them, that--that they're the most important thing in the world to you.
EJ: Of course they are.
Sami: So I just have to ask.
EJ: Sure. What is it? Tell me.
Sami: Just tell me straight. If it were up to you, would you involve the F.B.I.?
EJ: No, I wouldn't.
Sami: And if I told Rafe... he would have to involve the agency. He wouldn't have a choice.
EJ: No, he wouldn't. So, um... what is it you want to do?
Sami: I think we should keep it a secret.
Sami: I know that sounds strange, but basically, when you told me earlier that I could tell him... that's what really gave me the opportunity to--to think about what's best for Sydney. And what'll get her back to us safely. And so I think you're right. I think we shouldn't tell Rafe. When you let me make that decision... I just want you to know, I really do trust you.
EJ: You can, Samantha. You always can.
Bo: Hey, Dylan. Whatcha got?
Dylan: We have news about the DiMera kidnapping, sir.
Mia: It's, uh, it's not a good time.
Carly: I'm not gonna stay. I just--I heard about Mickey, and I wanted to see how you and Melanie were doing.
Hope: Maggie... oh, sorry, I did... you whore. You sleep with my husband, and then you have the nerve to come here?
Melanie: You're with Stephanie, and I'm with Philip. There's nothing to discuss.
Bo: Hey, Carly, it's me. Um...Hope knows.
Hope: Thank God you were there to comfort him, huh?
