Sami: I don't know if you've been paying attention, Nicole, but Rafe has DNA evidence. You are not calling the shots anymore.
Nicole: I will never let you take Sydney from me.
Sami: She is not your child!
Nicole: Yes, she is! I love her just like you love your children, and to her, I am her mother! She needs and loves me! Not you, me!
Sami: Because you stole her from me!
Nicole: You didn't even know! You held her, and you didn't know she was yours!
Sami: Because you were lying to me!
Nicole: No! Because you knew that I was her mother! You saw me with her! You saw how much she loved me! You don't want her because she's your daughter, only because she's your property.
Sami: Oh, God, Nicole, I am gonna kill you.
Nicole: No, I have done everything! I have done everything for her, and I will not let you stop me! I won't, Sami!
Sami: If you think that threatens me, I am not gonna let you take Sydney from me! You are not keeping my daughter!
Hope: Perfect. Okay, let's see. What do we have next? Ooh, a princess. What color do you think we should make her gown? How about royal blue? Here, you start it. No? Not royal blue? Okay, how about... hmm... ooh, how about this beautiful red? Let's do this one.
Ciara: I don't want to color anymore. I want to go home, Mommy.
Hope: I know you do, sweetheart. Hey, I'm gonna take you to see your dad real soon, okay?
Ciara: But I want to stay there. Why can't we? Why can't we stay with daddy?
Bo: Are you sure? 'Cause it doesn't make any sense. Lawrence Alamain. Okay, man. Uh... thanks for letting me know.
Carly: What--what happened? Why were you talking about Lawrence?
Bo: Justin wants us to meet him down at the station.
Carly: Have the authorities changed their mind? Are they gonna extradite me and throw me in jail?
Bo: No, no, no, no, no. It's...it's good news. It's just, um...
Bo: It's a little complicated.
Cop: These were just faxed over, sir.
Justin: Thank you.
Cop: From Special Officer Cobb.
Justin: Right. I don't get it. Why would you lie to us, Carly?
Vivian: Finally. You've been keeping me waiting, Gus. You know how that upsets me.
Gus: I am so sorry.
Vivian: Never mind. Just tell me the news. It better be what I want to hear.
Gus: It is, Madame. It is done.
Vivian: Excellent. Excellent.
EJ: Well, what is it, Chloe? Tell me.
Chloe: Um, it's about Sami and Nicole. You have to talk to them.
Chloe: I can't be the one to tell you. It has to be them. Listen, just go to Sami's place. The sooner you get there, the sooner you'll understand.
EJ: Understand what exactly? Chloe. Chloe!
Nicole: Give me my baby.
Rafe: Whoa, whoa, whoa. She's not yours, Nicole. She's Sami's.
Sami: Hi. Hi, Sydney.
Will: Hey. Aren't you...?
Mia: I'm on break.
Will: Got it. Um, so any news on the paternity results?
Mia: Yeah. Yeah, I, uh--I talked to Chad.
Mia: He's not the father.
Will: Oh. I mean, that's good, right? It means he can't raise Sydney. That's what you wanted the whole time, right?
Mia: Yeah, that's true. Will, I, uh--
Will: I should get back... to studying.
[Door opens, slams]
Maggie: Mia, where are you going?
Mia: I'm sorry. I-I know we're supposed to have dinner, but I'm--I'm gonna have to break our plans.
Maggie: Why, sweetheart? What happened?
Mia: Will's in there... but he hates me.
Sami: My beautiful little girl.
Nicole: She's mine. She's mine.
Rafe: That's enough.
Nicole: [Crying] Please?
Rafe: No, no.
Nicole: Rafe, wait. Sydney's mine. Don't you understand? I loved her since she was-- since she was born. And she's--she's mine. Please. Please, she's my baby.
Rafe: Nicole, it's over. It's all over.
Rafe: I called the police. They're on their way.
Nicole: [Sobbing] No! No! I'm her mommy.
Hope: Honey... just because we're not all living together right now doesn't mean that we're not a family anymore... right? I mean, we all love each other very much... very much. You believe that, don't you?
Ciara: I don't know.
Hope: Come to mama, honey. Come. It's okay. It's okay.
Bo: Hey, Justin.
Justin: Bo, Carly.
Carly: Hi. What--what is going on? Is this about the extradition? What's the news?
Justin: Well, it turns out that you can stay in Salem indefinitely. No more fear of extradition, no one looking to blame you for Lawrence's murder. It's all over.
Carly: Excuse me? Why?
Justin: Well, evidently, the real killer has come forward and confessed.
Maggie: Mia, first of all... you may think Will hates you. He may be acting like he hates you, but I'm sure that's not true. It's more that he's probably hurt... that there's so much that he didn't know about you.
Mia: Never will.
Maggie: Well, honey, what Will needs to understand, and he-- I think he will eventually, I'm almost sure of it, is that you have done everything you can to ensure that your little girl will have a good life, that she'll be raised in the best possible way... with love and... oh, with all the advantages that a child could possibly have.
Mia: Right. That's exactly what I meant before.
Maggie: Was it? Or was it something else?
Mia: Something else? What do you mean?
Maggie: Mia, I know you pretty well by now, and I believe there's more to this story. I'm your friend, Mia. I care about you very much, and maybe if you talk about it...
Mia: Yes, okay, there is more to the story, but I can't tell you. I can't tell anybody, because I gave my word to Nicole, okay?
Maggie: Mia! Wait!
Nicole: [Sobbing] No! No.
EJ: Hey, hey, Nicole. What's going on?
EJ: Hey, hey, what's going on? Nicole? Hey.
Rafe: Nicole, go on, tell him... or would you rather Sami do it? Maybe the cops should fill him in?
EJ: What is he talking about?
Nicole: [Sobbing] No.
EJ: Nicole? Nicole!
Carly: Bo, why would somebody take the rap for a murder they didn't commit? It doesn't make sense. It's crazy.
Bo: Yeah, it kind of is. But in a sick, demented way, it makes sense. Someone's playing with your mind... your mind and your life.
Vivian: Which means that our faithful retainer has done my bidding and admitted to Lawrence's murder.
Gus: Indeed, he has, thereby exonerating Dr. Carly Manning.
Vivian: You're knitting your brow, Gus, which means you're perplexed or disapproving, which makes me question your powers of perception, because the question has such an obvious answer.
Gus: My question?
Vivian: Yes. The fact that Dr. Carly Manning is responsible for my nephew's death, and I've decided to let her go free.
Gus: Yes, I was wondering that.
Vivian: [Chuckles] Oh, Gus. Ha! Gus, Gus, Gus. [Chuckling]
Chloe: Will, hey.
Will: What do you want?
Chloe: Uh, I was actually gonna call you. Um, I was wondering if you could give me your father's phone number in rehab?
Will: You're joking, right? He's in there because of you. Why the hell would I--
Chloe: Will, just listen to me for a moment, okay? Your dad and I, when we were together, we--we knew something.
Will: You knew something?
Chloe: Yeah, and this information that we had, it caused something terrible to happen.
Will: Look, I don't give a damn what it caused, okay? I got to go.
Chloe: Will, come on. Your father, he's gonna want to know this. Trust me, he has to know. It's about your mom. Yes, it's about your mom, okay? And now that the truth has come out, he's gonna want to be there for her.
Sami: EJ showed up? Why?
Rafe: I don't know. But he bolted after Nicole when she took off.
Sami: Well, don't you worry about it, Sydney.
Sami: Yeah, you don't have anything to worry about. [Laughs] You're home.
Sami: You're back where you belong. I can tell you're happy. [Laughing]
Rafe: Yeah, she is.
Sami: She says thank you.
Rafe: She is so welcome. [Whispering] You're so welcome.
Sami: She's my baby. Yeah. My baby.
EJ: Nicole! Hey, stop! Come here! Hey! Stop! Stop!
Nicole: No, let go of me! Let go of me!
EJ: No, you're not going! You tell me what is going on!
Nicole: No, please, EJ, let go of me!
EJ: Hey! Not until you tell me what is going on. What's going on with Rafe and the police and Samantha?
Nicole: They're all wrong, EJ!
EJ: What are they wrong about? What?
EJ: Talk to me.
Nicole: It's like... it's like I'm being punished over and over again. And I've lost everything that I love, and all I was trying to do was give you what was rightfully yours.
EJ: What are you talking about? What are you talking about? Give me what was rightfully mine? What is rightfully mine?
Nicole: Your daughter. [Sobbing]
Sami: Whenever I was with-- with her, I just... I don't know, it always--
Sami: [Laughs] It always felt so special. Yeah, it did. She always warmed my heart right from the beginning. And now I know why. You're thinking about Grace, aren't you? It makes you miss her.
Rafe: Yeah, actually, it makes me... it makes me feel closer to her... like Grace had some part in this. You know, she somehow helped... bring Sydney back to you.
Sami: I think you're right.
Sami: [Laughs] Listen to that.
Rafe: She knows.
Sami: Sydney. Sydney agrees. But you know what? You may have had help from-- from our little angel, Grace... but you did this.
Sami: It's because of you that I am holding my daughter in my arms right now. Rafe, if it hadn't been for you, she would have been lost to me forever.
EJ: I understood that you wanted to give me a daughter. Nicole, you just-- to pass off some illegally adopted child as mine.
Nicole: But I-I didn't.
EJ: Stop! Just don't lie, all right? I've had enough of your lies!
Nicole: I'm not lying! I'm not lying! It doesn't matter anymore.
EJ: What doesn't matter?
Nicole: Because you're gonna find out soon, and when you do, I hope--I hope that you see that I did the right thing.
EJ: What are you talking about? You never do the right thing.
Nicole: Uniting you with the daughter that Sami was never gonna let you keep!
Nicole: I took Sami's daughter, and I gave her to you, EJ, because I love you, and I wanted you to have what was yours.
EJ: You couldn't take Samantha's daughter... because--because grace is dead.
Nicole: I know. Poor little Grace. But she is not the child that you had with Sami. Sydney is.
Hope: Hey, how's it going?
Justin: Just fine. I actually have some news.
Ciara: Mommy! Are you coming up?
Hope: Honey, I'll be there in a second. I-I better go.
Justin: Wait, wait.
Hope: I don't want to talk right now, okay?
Justin: Well, actually, I--
Hope: Justin, please, I have burdened you enough with my problems. In this situation, I mean, what's the point of talking about it now? It's not gonna change anything.
Justin: Well, actually, that's what I'm trying to tell you. The situation has changed... completely.
Carly: All right. Well, then I'll go upstairs and pack.
Carly: Yeah, I'm gonna leave.
Carly: Yes, I am.
Bo: What, are you gonna play games with me now?
Carly: I'm not playing games with you.
Bo: Someone is after you. They're messing with your mind, playing with your life.
Carly: If they're not gonna extradite me, I'm not gonna stay here and complicate your life more.
Bo: You're too smart for this. You know I am not gonna let you go anyplace where I cannot protect you, not now, when someone's setting you up, not now, when things just got a hell of a lot more dangerous for you.
Vivian: I see that it boggles your inquiring mind, so I'll tell you. Could I have a little more sugar, please? Thank you. You see, I've given this a great deal of thought, and I thought, all this situation with Carly, an expedition that could go on for years. I think we should take care of the situation right here and now.
Gus: So in the interest of expediency, we--
Vivian: Oh, yes, expediency, but that's not all there is. There's also location, location, location.
Gus: I don't follow.
Vivian: Well, you see, that woman cemented her disastrous union with my nephew right here in little Salem, and I think she should pay for it right here, don't you?
Will: No, okay? I'm not giving you my dad's number at rehab. You want to talk to him? You can go visit him. You know where he is.
Chloe: [Sighs] Okay, fine. You know what? I've reconsidered. I-I don't think it's a good idea to call your dad.
Will: Glad we spent ten minutes arguing about it, then.
Chloe: Hey, you're right. He is so vulnerable right now, and he just doesn't need anything else to stress about.
Will: Yeah, and you still won't tell me what this latest thing he has to stress about is.
Chloe: [Sighs] Like I said, it's--it's not a bad thing. In fact, it's really good. It's great for you and your mom. Just trust me. It's--it's huge. It's life-changing, but just go to your mom. She'll tell you what it is.
Rafe: She's so beautiful. What?
Sami: I'm sorry.
Rafe: You're sorry? Sorry for what?
Sami: Sorry for doubting you.
Rafe: Well, I couldn't tell you what I was doing. I understand.
Sami: I should have trusted you.
Rafe: Would you not do this? Stop. If she could talk, I would tell her to make you stop being so hard on yourself. I would.
Sami: Mm, someone's sleepy.
Sami: Oh, look at her yawn. You know what? I'm so grateful that you didn't give up. No matter how I questioned you or what my suspicions were, you didn't stop. You kept going. You kept following on those leads. And it's because of you that I'm holding my... beautiful little girl in my arms right now.
Rafe: Why would I ever give up? Why? If I can make you smile, take away some of that pain you've been through, and now when I look at her, it's like-- it's like Grace. She reminds me of you. She's part of you.
Sami: Now she can be part of us.
Rafe: Yeah. I love you, Sami.
Sami: I love you. I love you both so much.
EJ: I don't understand. Sydney...
Nicole: Is your daughter... yours and Sami's.
EJ: No. That can't be right, because-- because I-I saw Sydney at the hospital, I mean, an hour after she was born. You got her from Mia. After you got her from Mia-- an hour after you got her. She couldn't be.
Nicole: No, I-I didn't... I didn't get her from Mia.
EJ: But... but--but she-- but she was already there, Nicole. She was already there.
Nicole: Sami... gave birth at the clinic. I didn't tell you that. But right after she gave birth, she left because she didn't want you to know your own child. EJ, don't you see what Sami did? I was only trying to--
EJ: What were you trying to do, Nicole? Tell me.
EJ: [Shouting] Tell me! Now! Now! You tell me! You tell me what happened.
Gus: So what happens next, Madame?
Vivian: Next? The fun begins.
Carly: Okay, I-I appreciate your concern. I really do.
Bo: Hey, you're not going anywhere.
Carly: All right, here's the deal. If I stay, I don't want to monopolize your time. You need to be with Hope and your daughter. I don't need you with me round the clock. I've got this police person outside protecting me, right? I've got my own uniformed security detail.
Bo: Right. Still--
Carly: Still nothing. No. Whatever is wrong with Hope, you need to take care of it...now. Go fix it, Bo.
Hope: There's got to be more to the story. Do they know who confessed to Lawrence's murder?
Justin: Well, I'm sure they do. They're not divulging that to us.
Hope: Right. So Carly's free to go now.
Justin: Well, since we still don't understand who made this confession or why...
Hope: Bo feels she's still in danger.
Justin: Well, I'm assuming so, yes.
Hope: Then he'll continue to protect her.
Justin: Well, I don't know. I haven't spoken to him about it.
Hope: Right... nor have I. As you may have noticed, he hasn't contacted me about this latest news.
Justin: Well, I'm sure he will.
Hope: At some point.
Hope: Justin, please, I told you, I don't want any cheery pep talks or reassurances, because the bottom line is... Carly's no longer in danger of being extradited, therefore...
Bo: He's made his choice... between Carly and me. And he chose her over me.
Chloe: Hey, Nicole. It's me, Chloe. Um, I wanted to talk to you directly, but since you're not answering your phone... [Sighs] Listen, um... I really considered you a friend, and now I find out that you've told the most horrible lies to me and everyone else. I mean, my God, it was one thing to think that you'd adopted a baby and pretended like it was yours and EJ's, but now to find out that the baby you were trying to pass off as your own is Sami's? That Sydney is Sami's baby and not Mia's? I mean, what were you--
Mia: Sami's baby? Sydney? What are you talking about?
EJ: Tell me... now, okay? You tell me now. All right?
EJ: Tell me!
Nicole: Yes. I found out... I found out Sami was pregnant. And then I found out where she was.
Nicole: Chloe. She told me a while before Sami gave birth. And I don't know, EJ, something... something just snapped in me. I was so angry and jealous, because I was-- I was still grieving the loss of our baby. And when I found out Sami had exactly what I lost, I wanted to confront her, so I went to the Convent of the Holy Cross. But before she knew I was there, I heard her praying, and she said, EJ, that she would never, ever let you know that that baby was yours. So I set it up. I set it all up. I set Sami up to give birth at the clinic, and... and I recommended to Sister Theresa that that would be the perfect place, because-- because it was private. And it was perfect, and I just-- I got lucky.
Nicole: Yes. Lucky, because... the way everything happened, it was like it was meant to be. I brought-- I brought Mia's baby to the clinic just as Sami was giving birth, and with Dr. Baker's help... I switched babies.
EJ: You switched the babies? You switched-- you switched the babies. Well, how could you even take that risk, Nicole?
Nicole: It was--it was risky, and it was--and it was difficult, and it, you know, EJ, there... I mean, there were times at night that--that I just lied there awake, not able to sleep, barely able to breathe, but I knew. I knew it would all be worth it in the end, because you would have your child... the child that we should have had together, that we did have! The child that Sami was gonna keep from you. EJ... honey, don't you see why I did this? I did this for you.
EJ: You did this for me? You're gonna pay for what you have done. You hear me? You're gonna pay.
EJ: You know, I can't even imagine why I held onto this. Some misguided sense of loyalty, I suppose.
Nicole: EJ, no!
[Siren grows louder]
EJ: That's probably for you. That's what Rafe was doing, wasn't it? Turning you in when I saw him in the townhouse earlier.
Nicole: [Crying] Wait, EJ, please, please, I can't--
EJ: Before you make another one, why don't you tell me where my daughter is?
EJ: Is she with Samantha? Nicole!
Nicole: Let go of me.
EJ: Where is my daughter?
Nicole: Let go of me, please!
EJ: Where is my daughter?
Nicole: Let go of me! [Crying]
Justin: Bo is not choosing Carly over you.
Hope: Stop, no more. I don't want to hear it.
Justin: Hope, I-I just think you're losing perspective on this.
Hope: No, I'm not losing perspective on this, Justin. [Sighs] I don't blame Carly for my problems with Bo, if that's what you're thinking. The fact is, he didn't call and share this news with me. That's all I'm saying, and that is very telling.
Justin: But it only just happened.
Hope: You found time to tell me, didn't you? Exactly. So please, stop trying to justify what my husband hasn't done. If things were okay between Bo and me, he would have called. He would have called me.
Justin: I'm sorry.
Hope: You know, earlier... I was trying to reassure Ciara. Only on some level...
Hope: I think she's as scared as I am... that my marriage is ending.
Chloe: Mia, hey, uh, I didn't see you there.
Mia: What were you talking about?
Chloe: Nothing. I have to go.
Mia: No, Chloe, I heard you leave a message. You said Sydney was Sami's baby, not mine. Why would you say that? Sami's baby died, and mine is with Nicole. Or is she? Where's my baby, Chloe? Where is she?
[Cell phone ringing]
Sami: Look at how she's holding onto Grace's dog. She loves it. Grace would be so happy, Sydney. She would want that.
Rafe: Yeah? Good. I will.
Sami: What was that?
Rafe: It was, uh... one of the guys on the inside. He's promised to keep me, ahem, informed. He's an officer.
Sami: Shh. What did he say?
Rafe: We should go.
Nicole: Let go of me! All right! Yes! Yes! [Crying] Yes. Sydney is with Sami... your precious Samantha... the same Samantha who was always gonna keep you from your child, and never let you have anything to do with her! The same--[Panting] The same Sami who will always want to be with Rafe and not you... that Samantha! You know what? Why don't you just go commiserate with her? But you know this, EJ. She will never, ever let you love and raise your daughter the way that I did, the way that I have always done. [Sobbing] I could have been the best mother. I could have made us so happy.
Cop #1: Hold it right there!
Cop #2: Don't even move.
Cop #1: Hands where I can see them. Put them back behind you.
Cop #1: Just take it easy.
Justin: Hope, it's okay.
Hope: No, it's not okay. It'll never be okay.
Justin: You're not alone, okay? I'm here. You have me... and you always will.
[Knock at door]
Carly: Must be the guard.
Vivian: Carly, darling... long time no see.
Mia: Answer me right now. Where is my baby?
Maggie: What's going on?
Mia: I heard her on the phone. She said that Sydney is Sami's baby.
Maggie: What? I don't--
Mia: She said something about how the babies were switched.
Maggie: Chloe, this girl's going through a really hard time as it is, so would you please tell her that she heard you wrong? Tell her it isn't true, Chloe.
Justin: You're acting like a complete jerk.
Vivian: I could just... shoot myself.
Carly: Please, let me.
Nicole: Mommy loves you! She always will!
