Stefano: Ah.

Kate: And to my new family, who has welcomed me with open arms.

Stefano: God bless, live long. Hmm. By the way, what was so important that Nicole had to miss our toast?

E.J.: She went upstairs to check on Sydney. Actually, I don't know what's keeping her so long.

Nicole: Why, Brady? Why did you call me in Paris?

Brady: How did I know E.J. was gonna answer the phone? All right? There was static, I couldn't hear anything, I thought it was you.

Nicole: You thought it was me? Why didn't you make sure before you opened your mouth and wrecked my life?

Philip: Oh, come on. Where the hell is it at?

Victor: What?

Philip: Oh, memory stick. I know it has to be here somewhere.

Victor: What's on it?

Philip: Titan-related info. [Mutters] Damn.

Victor: Philip?

Philip: Huh?

Victor: You know, it might help to talk about it.

Philip: What, my tendency to misplace things?

Victor: No, your mother's marriage.

Philip: Kate DiMera is a psychopath and a traitor. She's not my mother anymore, so why the hell would I want to talk about her?

Victor: You know it's not as simple as that.

Philip: Oh, I'm making it simple. She's not in my life, she's out of my thoughts. I don't wanna talk about it.

Nathan: Yes, of course, Dr. Carver, thank you. No, no, no, I will. I'll tell Mel as soon as I see her.

Melanie: Tell me what?

Nathan: Yeah. No actually, she just walked in. Yeah--no, I will. Thank you, thank you. All right, you too. Bye.

Melanie: What are you gonna tell me?

Nathan: We both just got reinstated back in the hospital.

Melanie: For reals?

Nathan: Yeah, that was Dr. Carver. She called to tell me. Apparently--

Melanie: Yay! Yay! That is such good news. Oh, my gosh, I'm so glad. [Sighs] [Laughs]

Brady: Calm down, all right?

Nicole: Calm down? Did I not just tell you you're wrecking my entire life?

Brady: All right, listen to me. You're gonna meet me down at pier 40 in ten minutes, or as soon as you can. You got me?

Nicole: I'll leave right now.

E.J.: Where are you going? And who are you talking to?

Melanie: Uh, I'm sorry.

Nathan: No, it's cool, it's fine.

Melanie: I don't know what came over me.

Nathan: You were excited, yeah.

Melanie: Uh, but I'm relieved, obviously. What did Dr. Carver say?

Nathan: Oh, that I start work tonight. My shift begins in-- ooh, in an hour.

Melanie: Ooh. Back to our busy schedules. Probably won't be seeing a lot of each other now.

Nathan: Probably not. Unless...

Melanie: Unless?

Nathan: You know, call me crazy, but we could make an actual plan.

Melanie: Oh. Yeah. No, totally. Uh... plan--plan to what?

Nathan: [Laughs] To go out one night.

Melanie: Like a date?

Nathan: Okay, you can call it whatever you want. Is it cool?

Philip: Steph.

Stephanie: Hey. Uh, Henderson let me in.

Philip: Everything okay?

Stephanie: With me, yeah. I came to check up on you. I heard about Kate and Stefano.

Philip: Oh, you came to offer your condolences, thank you.

Stephanie: I came as a friend. I also heard that your mom is the one who poisoned Chloe and tried to frame Dr. Jonas.

Philip: Yep. Be glad you broke up with me. If you hadn't, you'd have to deal with all this Kiriakis insanity. Not to mention you'd have a mother-in-law from hell. [Laughs] Tough room.

Stephanie: Well, it might have been funny if...

Philip: If what?

Stephanie: If I thought breaking up with you was a good thing.

Philip: [Scoffs]

Stefano: All right.

Kate: Mm.

Stefano: Come on, now. Just one more spoonful.

Kate: No. I don't think I should.

Stefano: Oh, come on. If--if you don't eat it, then there's more for me, okey-dokey.

Kate: I think I'm gonna go check to see if E.J.--

Stefano: No, no, no, no, no. Wait, wait, sit, sit, sit, sit. Sit here. What are you doing? Don't worry about Elvis because he can handle Nicole, all right? Now what I have to do is I have to see that you enjoy this cake. After all, you made this cake for me. You know how delicious it is. Come on, one more spoon-- come on--

Kate: One bite just for you.

Stefano: Ah, very good. Ah, see, huh, huh? Good. Ah, this is delicious.

Nicole: That was Sydney's pediatrician.

E.J.: I thought that you were with Sydney.

Nicole: I was. But Mary's with her now. Her rash isn't getting any better, and so the doctor prescribed a stronger medication, so I was just on my way to go get it.

E.J.: No, I'm sorry, sweetheart, you're not going anywhere.

Nicole: But E.J., I told you, I have to pick up Sydney's medication.

E.J.: God, Mary can pick up Sydney's medication.

Nicole: But the pharmacist won't give it to Mary. He'll only give it to me.

Okay, fine. Can you go in a few minutes? Because right now, I need you to walk into that room and toast your father-in-law's marriage, please.

Nicole: Fine, let's toast.

E.J.: Thank you.

Stefano: Ah. Here she is. My charming daughter-in-law. All right, everybody grab a glass, come on. We're going to have another toast, since Nicole missed the first one. All right. [Sighs] To my beautiful new wife, Katherine, to my loyal and devoted family.

Kate: Oh, darling, you're repeating yourself.

Stefano: Well, some things bear repeating and all. All right, let me be original then, okay. To my beautiful granddaughter Sydney, who should be asleep by now, I trust, eh?

Nicole: Let's hope.

Stefano: Okay. All right. [Chuckles] Uh, her beautiful heart. She is an angel that has brought only joy into our lives, and made us all feel-- well, especially me-- young again. [Chuckles] No, no, no, wait, wait, wait. There's more. Okay. I also would like to toast my daughter, Alexandra... and my two beautiful grandchildren, Theo and Giovanni. Now they are not here physically, but they are always here...in my heart. Salute.

Nicole and E.J.: Salute.

Nicole: Okay, well, that was wonderful. I gotta run. Congratulations, newlyweds.

Kate: She seems to be in a rush.

E.J.: Certainly seems so.

Kate: Will you tell me which one it is? Is she running away from me? Or is she running away from you?

Maggie: Hey, hey there.

Melanie: Maggie, hey. Nathan was just telling me the good news.

Maggie: What news?

Nathan: Oh, Mel and I got reinstated in the hospital.

[Maggie laughs]

Nathan: Yeah, I actually I have a shift very soon.

Maggie: That--well, that's wonderful. Melanie, would you mind going down to the basement for me?

Melanie: Now?

Maggie: If you don't mind. There is a box of decorations somewhere down there in that stuff under the window. It says "Halloween" on it.

Melanie: Halloween?

Maggie: Well, you know, I know it's a little early, but I like to get a head start. Please?

Melanie: Sure. Yeah. I'll--I'll be right back.

Maggie: Okay.

Nathan: Yeah, I actually-- I gotta get ready.

Maggie: Nathan.

Nathan: Yeah?

Maggie: Wait. I overheard you asking Melanie out on a date.

Nathan: Okay. We just--we just decided that we'll get together in the near future.

Maggie: For dinner.

Nathan: Yeah, I guess.

Maggie: Well, that would be a date, Nathan. And that would be a huge mistake.

Brady: What took you so long?

Nicole: Brady, what were you thinking? Why did you tell E.J. the secret is out?

Brady: Nicole, for starters, I thought you would be the one picking up your own damn cell phone, okay?

Nicole: But still, you heard a man's voice say "hello," but that didn't stop you from blabbing.

Brady: All I heard was static, okay? I heard a voice, but I assumed it was yours--

Nicole: Yeah, well your assumptions are wrecking my life.

Brady: Stop saying things like that.

Nicole: Brady, what do you mean? How is the secret out? Does someone else know that Sydney is Mia's baby and not mine and E.J.'s?

Brady: Arianna knows that you had a miscarriage.

Nicole: What?

Brady: She--but she doesn't know when. She doesn't think it happened while you were pregnant with Sydney, though.

Nicole: Oh, my God, but... but that's bad enough. Seeing as how her brother is an ex-FBI agent who is obsessed with trying to find out the truth about me.

Brady: Listen, listen. What is going on with E.J. right now?

Nicole: What do you think is going on? He's suspicious, highly suspicious, more than ever. And he is determined to find out what the secret is.

Brady: I don't see any way out of this.

Nicole: Well, I do. I have a plan. And you're gonna help me pull it off.

Nathan: Look, we already discussed this.

Maggie: And you ignored every word I said.

Nathan: Melanie and I are friends, okay? We live in the same house. We work in the same hospital. And besides, I already told you that I'm not looking for anything serious.

Maggie: Neither is Melanie. Because, as I pointed out to you in no uncertain terms, she...

Nathan: That she still has feelings for Philip. All right, I get it, okay? So I should just, what, watch out, because she'll just use me. She'll go out with me, she'll make me fall in love with her, and then she'll realize, "Oh, it was always Philip." And then she'll dump me. Is that what you think is gonna happen? That's what you think, right?

Philip: So if you don't think breaking up with me was a good idea, then...what?

Stephanie: I shouldn't have said that.

Philip: Well, you did. Too late.

Stephanie: Look, having to end it with you, it was not a good thing. It was sad, it was awful. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. But I know I'll always have a place for you in my heart.

And I will always regret what happened with Melanie. It was...a terrible mistake.

Victor: Well... seems like I'm the only that's glad you two broke up.

Stefano: Here we go.

E.J.: Okay, now, that's-- th-thank you. That's enough, Father.

Stefano: Come on, come on, come on, come on. You fill it up, why you-- don't be afraid.

E.J.: Are you trying to get me drunk?

Stefano [Laughing] No. Why would I do that? Come on.

E.J.: Oh, I have no idea. Maybe so I don't express my outrage and bafflement.

Stefano: Mm. Good. Here...have a piece of cake. Come on, come on. It's wonderful. Mm!

E.J.: Father... look, when you, uh... when you look at your new wife, do you not think of...Tony at all? You know...his untimely death?

Stefano: Come on, Elvis. [Grunts] You know that I think of my beloved Tony every minute of every day.

E.J.: You're marrying the mother of the man who killed him, your own son.

Stefano: Love, heh... is not... a choice, Elvis. As you well know. It's a sign of eternity.

E.J.: Oh, come--come on!

Stefano: A higher law unto itself.

E.J.: Spare the iambic pentameter, father. Huh? Let me just, oh, let me ask you just one simple question.

Stefano: Hmm?

E.J.: How can you trust this woman?

Stefano: That is not your concern.

E.J.: I live here. We do business here.

Stefano: What's your point? Or do you even have a point?

E.J.: My point is we do business in this house. I mean, uh, we can't have her just wandering around the halls. You know her reputation. She's not, uh...discreet.

Stefano: So we won't carry our business in the hall. We'll do it in our offices.

E.J.: Come on, would you be rational at least?

Stefano: What a concept. [Sighs] Look, I don't feel like talking about this now, all right? I'm a little tired, and I just want to have a little rest before dinner.

E.J.: You all right? You look pale.

Stefano: Well, I'm fatigued a little bit, okay? So what? That's nothing. I'm fine.

E.J.: Well, wait here. I'm gonna call Harold.

Stefano: No! You know... what is the matter with you, Elvis, huh? I'm not an old man, huh? So what are you treating me like that for? I'm fine. I will take care of myself Katherine, darling, uh, I'm gonna go upstairs. Bring me a glass of grappa. I think it'll settle my stomach.

Brady: Hold on, just hold on, hold on, hold on. I don't believe this. You told E.J. what?

Nicole: I had to say something.

Brady: You told him that I had a... a relapse? Is that what you said?

Nicole: Yes. Okay, what was I supposed to do? Come out with the whole, sordid truth and start looking for places to live on trailerparks.com?

Brady: I can't believe you would do something like that.

Nicole: You're mad at me? You're the one who started this by telling E.J.!

Brady: You tell me exactly what you told him right now.

Nicole: Well, I... I had to convince him that you were calling me a lot, talking nonsense, all drugged out.

Brady: Did you for one minute think about the impact that this would have on my life? What if my father finds out? What if anybody I know finds out? My career is done, Nicole, if that happens.

Nicole: Oh, come on. You think E.J.'s gonna say anything to the people he detests?

Brady: If he thinks it's gonna cause unrest in my family, yeah, I do.

Nicole: Brady, if you--if you play along, then... then E.J. won't be suspicious anymore, and he'll drop this whole thing.

Brady: No! No way. There is no way I'm lying about my sobriety.

Maggie: I don't know why you're so angry, Nathan. I'm only trying to protect you.

Nathan: I know. I'm--I'm sorry. I shouldn't be yelling at you. It's just, when you say these things, when you warn me about Melanie, it makes feel like you think that I can't compete with him, with... [Deep voice] Philip Kiriakis.

Maggie: That's not what I'm saying. I think the world of you, Nathan. And Philip...oh, I think he's arrogant, obnoxious, screwed-up.

Nathan: Yeah.

Maggie: But the point is, Melanie seems drawn to him. Inexplicably drawn to him. And if she decides to pursue him...I don't want you to be blindsided by it. I'm sure you know Philip has feelings for her.

Nathan: Oh, yeah. He must have feelings, right? What, 'cause he shelled out some money to bail her out of jail? Feelings, right?

Maggie: I know about the video, Nathan.

Nathan: Yeah, there's that. Philip used her. Oh, and you think I'm just gonna be her fallback guy.

Maggie: Well, I think you deserve better, Nathan. That's my point. Why should you settle for someone who doesn't appreciate you...for the extraordinary young man that you are? Don't borrow trouble, Nathan. Please!

E.J.: Well, I can't say I'm surprised. You know what to do?

Marco: I'll head out. See what I find.

E.J.: Good man.

Kate: Who was that?

E.J.: Ahem. An employee.

Kate: Ah. Now, why do I get the feeling that he wasn't hired to tend the tea roses?

E.J.: Because you're a...wildly astute woman, Kate. It's one of your many, many characteristics.

Kate: And you still haven't answered my question. Who is he? Exactly what does he do around here?

Nicole: Brady, please don't turn your back on me.

Brady: Do you realize what you're asking me to do? To lie about relapsing. I'd have to be insane to do that, Nicole.

Nicole: Okay, so maybe you'll temporarily risk your reputation, but you certainly won't ruin your career. You can just say that you--you had a slip.

Brady: At, uh, at the helm of a multibillion dollar corporation, I had a slip?

Nicole: Your friends and family will forgive you.

Brady: My grandfather would fire my ass, and you know that.

Nicole: Maybe. But it wouldn't be long before he'd take you back.

Brady: You don't know that.

Nicole: Oh, please, Brady, I am desperate. I am out of options.

Brady: Is that--is that my fault somehow?

Nicole: You have to help me.

Brady: I help you and I ruin my own life in the process, Nicole.

Nicole: All right, so maybe you lose your job for a while. But is that as terrible as me losing my little girl? Because that's exactly what will happen if E.J. finds out the truth.

Victor: This what you're looking for?

Philip: Where'd you find that?

Victor: The library. Now you won't have to go back to the office.

Philip: Thank you.

Victor: Feel free not to stay too long.

Stephanie: Thank you. So you're back at Titan.

Philip: Yeah, yeah, you could say that.

Stephanie: Wow.

Philip: I'm guessing you don't approve.

Stephanie: I just remember all those promises you made to yourself.

Philip: Yeah, well, what's the point of being good and honorable when everybody else around you is doing whatever they please?

Stephanie: Oh, that's your new philosophy?

Philip: Do you honestly care?

Stephanie: I just told you that I did.

Philip: But not enough to give me a second chance.

Stephanie: What, you mean a fourth chance? Look, it doesn't-- it doesn't matter because you are back to a career in crime. That's a deal-breaker.

Philip: You can go now.

Stephanie: You know what, just because your mother--

Philip: Hey, that's enough. I'm not in the mood for one of your lectures today, okay?

Stephanie: You know what, what was I thinking? It's your life.

Philip: It sure as hell is.

Stephanie: Yep.

[Door shuts]

Nathan: You know what, I'm a big boy, all right? And I'm not worried about Philip. He--I mean, he doesn't even know how--

Maggie: Finish the sentence.

Nathan: No, I don't want to finish the sentence because I know you're gonna think I'm serious about Melan--

Maggie: Please. Tell me what you were gonna say, Nathan.

Nathan: Philip does not understand her at all. He doesn't see her for who she is.

Maggie: And you do?

Nathan: I see what's important, okay? I see that she's really smart, she's funny, she's beautiful, and that I--

Melanie: [Giggles] Found it. Why do I feel like you guys were talking about me?

E.J.: Kate, Kate, Kate, Kate.

Kate: Don't be smug, E.J.

E.J.: You have a lot to learn.

Kate: Oh, my God. You know, if you are going to be such a jerk...

E.J.: The first thing you need to learn, as a DiMera wife, is that you keep your eyes shut and your mouth closed.

Kate: Really?

E.J.: You put that down, and everything else pretty much falls into place.

Kate: Ah, I see. And is that how Nicole lives her life? Does she keep her eyes closed and her mouth shut?

E.J.: Darling, you're already ignoring the first rule.

Kate: I think I noticed a little tension between the two of you. It seems to me you hardly glanced at each other. And then she rushes out on some mysterious errand.

E.J.: I hate to disappoint you, but I'm not explaining my marriage to you.

Kate: Oh...ouch, E.J. Did I push a button?

Marco: Come on, speak up.

Nicole: Fine. If you won't lie for me, I will have to tell E.J. the truth, and I will lose my little girl.

Brady: There's got to be another way, Nicole.

Nicole: There's not another way, Brady. I have wracked my brain. This is all I could come up with. Please, Brady. You're the one who told E.J. the secret is out. You need to make up for this colossal blunder. I need you... to be the friend you were for me when I had the miscarriage. When you were so kind and understanding. Because you knew it was the only chance I had to have a baby. The one...and only time I was going to be pregnant.

Nathan: It's my first night back. I should get ready.

Maggie: Go, go.

Nathan: Yes.

Maggie: Keep in mind what I said, okay?

Nathan: Yeah.

Melanie: This is the box you wanted, right?

Maggie: Yeah, that's it.

Melanie: Of course it had to be the one in the furthest corner of your basement.

Melanie: Oh, dear. Sorry about that.

Melanie: No, you're not. You were trying to get me out of the kitchen so you could talk about me behind my back, right?

Maggie: I care about you very much, Melanie. I'm sure you know that. But I'm also protective of Nathan.

Melanie: And you think I'm gonna hurt him because I still have feelings for Philip. Or maybe you think that his silver reputation will be tarnished if he's seen hanging out with the girl with the sex tape, right?

Maggie: Melanie, that's not it at all.

Melanie: Really? 'Cause your attitude about Nathan and I sure changed after the tape went on the internet.

Maggie: It's because of your feelings for Philip, and nothing more. I don't want to see Nathan hurt. I don't want to see you hurt either.

Melanie: Nathan's too good of a guy to hurt me.

Maggie: Well, if you still have feelings for another man, and you get involved with Nathan, you're gonna end up miserable too. Because you have a conscience. You see, I know you, Melanie. I don't want this for you either.

Melanie: I just want--

Maggie: Please... let Nathan go. For his sake...and yours.

E.J.: My marriage is none of your business. Nor, for that matter, is anything else in this house.

Kate: So the next time you try to kill my son, I should pretend not to notice.

E.J.: Well, I'm sure you'd like me not to notice that you attempted to murder a woman and framed an innocent man.

Stefano: Katherine, my grappa.

Kate: Duty calls.

E.J.: Just make sure you treat my father with nothing but love and respect.

Kate: Oh, your father is my life now. Taking care of him is my new career.

E.J.: And remember this... whatever it was that he made disappear...I can make reappear. We clear?

Kate: I'm coming, Caro. I'm bringing you your grappa.

Brady: [Sighs] You know, none of this would even be an issue, Nicole, if you'd just been honest from the beginning.

Nicole: That ship has sailed, Brady.

Brady: Yeah, I'm very aware of that.

Nicole: Oh, really? Well, are you also aware that my daughter's life is at stake? That if you don't help me, she will be taken away. She will cry herself to sleep at night wondering why I am not holding her and loving her. And she will be traumatized for the rest of her life. Do you really want to inflict that kind of pain on an innocent little girl by taking away the only mother she has ever known?

E.J.: Hurry, damn it!

Man: I'm going as fast as I can, sir.

E.J.: Look, how much of this conversation did you get?

Man: Enough. Trust me.

Nicole: Please, Brady, you're the one who told E.J. the secret is out. You need to make up for this colossal blunder. I need you to be the friend you were for me when I had the miscarriage. When you were so kind and understanding. Because you knew it was the only chance I had to have a baby. The one and only time I was going to be pregnant.

Victor: Stephanie gone?

Philip: And after you've been so welcoming to her.

Victor: Well, didn't want her to talk you into getting back together.

Philip: No chance of that.

Victor: Hard to find a woman who doesn't want to change something about you... make you into something that you're not.

Philip: Actually... I know a woman who likes me just the way I am... who doesn't want to change me at all.

Melanie: So?

Nathan: So she, uh--

Melanie: Yep, she did.

Nathan: How'd you even know what I was gonna say?

Melanie: Psychic.

Nathan: So she filled you in on our little conversation.

Melanie: I got the condensed version. She, um... she thinks I'm gonna hurt you, and in doing so, hurt myself. She got through to you, obviously.

Nathan: Doesn't matter. I make my own decisions.

Melanie: Good to know.

Nathan: Mm-hmm. So what do you say? Huh? You want to do this? Go on a date? A date-date?

Melanie: Yeah. Yeah, I do.

Brady: The last thing I want to see is Sydney hurt. You know that.

Nicole: Of course I do. You've been such a good friend to me, Brady. I just--

Brady: Just what?

Nicole: I just--I never... I never thought that I could love someone as much as I love my little girl. And E.J. Having them in my life, and I know I've said this before, but... kind of makes up for my wretched childhood, you know? Loving them makes me think that maybe I'm not such a bad person. What are you thinking?

Brady: I'm thinking that I won't lie for you, Nicole.

Nicole: I see.

Brady: But I will for Sydney.

Nicole: You will?

Brady: I will. I'll do whatever it takes. I will. I'll do it. I'll do it.

Nicole: Oh, Brady. Brady, I don't--I don't know what to say. You have no idea how grateful I am. You are the best friend that anyone could ever have. Thank you.

Brady: You got to promise me something, though. One thing.

Nicole: Anything.

Brady: You make Sydney happy, okay?

Nicole: I'll make it my life's work.

Brady: Okay.

Nicole: I should go.

Brady: Yeah, you should.

Nicole: Look, I don't know what I would do without you, Brady.

[Recording of Nicole playing] Please, Brady. You're the one who told E.J. the secret is out. You need to make up for this colossal blunder. I need you to be the friend you were for me... when I had the miscarriage, when you were so kind and understanding, because you knew it was the only...chance I had to have a baby, the one and only time I was going to be pregnant.

Nicole: We can't make love right now. That's what the doctor told me.

E.J.: When did he tell you this?

Nicole: I went to the clinic this morning, and, um, Dr. Baker said that we--we couldn't be intimate.

Nicole: If it puts your mind at ease, we could have another doctor examine the baby. It's-

E.J.: No, you and the baby.

Nicole: No. I will not be examined by anyone other than Dr. Baker. No one else touches me.

E.J.: Oh, do you want to nurse her before we go?

Nicole: No, actually, I'll try again when we get--when we get home.

Stephanie: Welcome back.

Nathan: Thank you. Thank you very much.

Stephanie: We missed you around here, dr. Horton.

Nathan: You're not still working, are you?

Stephanie: Oh, no, no. I just came to pick up a sweater that I left here. Anyway, I heard they reinstated you. I'm really happy.

Nathan: Yeah. Yeah, me too. Thanks. Um, I will see you around.

Stephanie: You bet.

Maggie: Philip.

Philip: Hello, Maggie.

Maggie: I didn't recognize you with your clothes on.

Philip: I guess I deserve that.

Maggie: What do you want?

Philip: I came to see Melanie.

Maggie: She's not here.

Philip: Oh.

Maggie: But since you are, let me give you a little piece of advice. Hurt Melanie, and you answer to me. Are we clear?

Melanie: Brady!

Brady: Whoa.

Melanie: Sorry. Can you tell I'm in a good mood? I mean, a better mood than I have been lately.

Brady: Uh, yeah. What's going on?

Melanie: Things are kind of, um, looking up with me and Nathan. What's going on with you? You seem weird.

Brady: I'd rather not talk about it.

Melanie: Well, that's a big fat bummer, 'cause I'm not going anywhere until you do.

Brady: Melanie, please.

Melanie: What is it? A girl? Work? Healthcare? The economy?

Brady: [Sighs] I--I'm doing a favor for a friend, okay?

Melanie: Can you elaborate?

Brady: Let's just say you're gonna be hearing some unsavory things about me in the next couple days, okay?

Melanie: Unsavory things. That must mean Nicole Walker.

Brady: I'm gonna get going, okay?

Melanie: Brady, wait. You can't go. Not when it's getting juicy.

Brady: Melanie, this is my life. This is not some gossip magazine, okay?

Melanie: Okay, look, I know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I know you had to do Nicole a favor, so just--just--tell me what it was.

Brady: It wasn't for Nicole.

Melanie: Of course it was for Nicole, because...you're still in love with her, aren't you?

[Front door opens, closes]

Nicole: Oh. Wow. Sorry it took so long. The line at the pharmacy was endless. I guess everyone in Salem is sick.

E.J.: I don't want to hear about it.

Nicole: All right. Uh, are you okay? You seem tense.

E.J.: I, um, I found out something. I just need some time to digest.

Nicole: What did you find out?

E.J.: You'll know soon enough. When the time is right.

Meredith: A slow death. It's better than you deserve.

Sami: You're lying to me about something. What are you hiding?

E.J.: I am sorry that I ever believed a word out of your lying mouth!
