Philip: You know this happy thing? I could get used to it.

Stephanie: Yeah, I like it pretty well myself. The simple life.

Philip: Hmm, this is the simple life? I'm not sure my life ever was simple.

Stephanie: You know what I like? I like that it's just us. It's not us and our families or us and your job. It's just us.

Philip: [Laughs] Yeah, but you see what the big problem is, don't you?

Stephanie: What big problem?

Philip: What are we gonna do with all this free time?

Stephanie: That is a big problem, but I think we can come up with something.

Lucas: Do you hear me? I hate you. All I ever did was love you, and what did you do to me? You betrayed me. You betrayed me over and over again, Chloe. I will never forgive you, do you understand me?

Craig: Lucas, what are you saying to her?

Daniel: [Sighs]

Daniel: Where are those gloves?

[Door opens]

Kate: [Sighs]

Bo: [Exhales]

Hope: Is she asleep?

Bo: Yeah, yeah. Took her some time to relax.

Hope: Well, we haven't used that in a long time.

Bo: [Intonates "I know"] But if she has a nightmare, I want to get to her as soon as possible.

Hope: Yeah, of course. Oh, here.

Bo: Tea? After this ordeal?

Hope: It's herbal tea. Until Lexie gives the all-clear about that concussion of yours-- just drink the tea. It's good for you.

Bo: Thanks, but really, I'm fine.

Hope: You know, maybe you should have spent at least one night in the hospital, just to be sure.

Bo: No, Ciara needs both of us here in the morning, when she wakes up. I want this house to feel as normal as possible.

Hope: Normal?

Bo: Hey, she's home, she's safe, it's over. We can start over. Fancy Face. Sorry.

Hope: No, I'm sorry. I'm exhausted.

Bo: And you can't forgive me. [Sighs] We need sleep. Um... I'll crash in the guest room.

Hope: I think that's a good idea.

Brenda: [Gasping]

Dean: I didn't kill my damn girlfriend for you to go home and kiss your little baby and drift off into dreamland. That reward money is mine, Hope, and I am not waiting for it.

Justin: I need you to be especially discreet. I don't want anyone to know about this. Not my client, not my uncle, and especially not Kate Roberts.

Victor: Know what?

Justin: All right, keep me posted. Um, and I, uh, need all that yesterday. Thanks.

Victor: What do you need? What are you talking about?

Justin: I assume you heard that Ciara's home, safe and sound. You here to celebrate?

Victor: I asked you a question.

Justin: And I'm ignoring you. It seems more polite than telling you it's none of your-- expletive deleted--business.

Victor: You know, I've got two fully-equipped offices at home. I offered you a suite of offices at Titan and you work here.

Justin: Well, I'm not sure that the, uh, space you offered me would be secure enough.

Victor: Look, I know your ego makes you think you're Alan Dershowitz or something, but the fact of the matter is, you're an employee of mine. I hired you to defend Daniel. You work for me. I'm entitled to know all aspects of this case.

Justin: No, you're not.

Victor: What is it that you're doing that you don't want me to find out? And what were you saying about Kate?

Stephanie: [Exhales]

Philip: I love you. Only you.

Nathan: I can totally, completely see you doing that.

Melanie: Oh, no excuse. [Laughs] Thank you. Um, thank you very much for walking me home.

Nathan: Well, yeah, but like you said, we're in the same place. We kind of live in the same house, so it would be pretty difficult to not walk you home.

Melanie: Yeah, but you could have stayed at the Cheatin' Heart. Not a lot of fun to be had here. Oh! Except for these bad boys.

Nathan: Ooh, hoo! Cheerios! You rebel! At this hour?

Melanie: Hey, now, it's not just for breakfast. Besides, I've got a big biology test to study for in the morning, and by the time I'm done, it'll technically be, you know, breakfast time. Not to mention, I am studying to become a nurse, so I feel like I should probably eat healthier. And since they have whole grain and only one gram of sugar, which is excellent for swimsuit season, you know...[Laughing].

Nathan: Are you done?

Melanie: Yeah, I'm done.

Nathan: So along with this whole cheerios making you feel all happy and confident, do they also make you want to study?

Melanie: Ooh, uh, yes. That would be next on my list of things to do.

Nathan: Good. Need help? I could totally help you out.

Melanie: You don't have to help me. You've been working all day. You just saw Stephanie get engaged. You know everything there is to know about biology. Why would you help me study?

Nathan: Hmm, maybe 'cause I'm trying to get back on your good graces. Anyways, I'm gonna go take a quick shower.

Melanie: Ah, uh-huh.

Nathan: And, um, I will take coffee with milk, no sugar, and a bowl of cheerios for me too, please.

Melanie: Oh!

Nathan: [With British accent] And prepare to conquer the world of organisms.

Melanie: [Laughs] Okay.

Nathan: Everything sounds better with an accent, doesn't it?

Melanie: Right, yeah.

Nathan: [British accent] Organisms.

Melanie: Go shower.

Nathan: [British accent] So gay. Excuse me.

Melanie: [Laughs] Oh. Oh, you make it hard to hate you, Horton.

Maggie: [Laughs] Well, after the night I had, I didn't think anything could make me smile.

Melanie: Well, what just did?

Maggie: The way you looked at my grandson.

Lucas: I'm sorry. I know you shouldn't have heard that, but I can't lie to you. I mean, it's true. It's true, I... I hate her.

Craig: Hey, you listen to me. I know you've been through a lot, and I'm not gonna tell you how to feel, but if I'm gonna leave her in your care, then you and I, we've got a lot to straighten out first.

Bo: Our daughter is upstairs, asleep and safe, and this is how we are with each other?

Hope: You risked her life because you had to feel in charge?

Bo: [Sighs] She is at home. She's safe. That doesn't mean anything to you?

Hope: Our daughter was in the middle of a shootout because you wouldn't negotiate, because you wouldn't give an inch. You're damn lucky she's home and alive.

Bo: Okay, this is obviously not the time to talk about this, so... [Sighs] Let's just go to our separate bedrooms and get some sleep, okay?

Hope: Fine.

Bo: And you're wrong about me. The whole time, all I was thinking about, all I cared about was our daughter's safety.

Hope: I shouldn't have said anything. Okay?

Bo: It doesn't matter. I knew what you were thinking.

Ciara: Mommy!

Hope: Oh!

Melanie: Uh, Maggie, Nathan and I, we haven't done anything.

Maggie: Did I ask?

Melanie: No, no, but you were thinking it. And just, I want you to know I would never, in your house, with your grandson.

Maggie: Melanie, the only thing I'm gonna say on the subject is, let him make the first move. I know it sounds old-fashioned, but it works out for the best.

Melanie: Excuse me?

Maggie: Well, it's--not that it's gonna take that long. I mean, I thought it would be a done deal already, but he got a little sidetracked. You know, water under the bridge.

Melanie: Who-- so you don't want me to move out?

Maggie: What? Move out? Why would you think that?

Melanie: Well, no, I just figured, with--with Nathan, I-- come on, Maggie, I mean, we both know this isn't what you want for your grandson.

Maggie: Why would you say that? Why would you think that?

Melanie: I mean, we both know I'm not really good enough for Nathan. [Sighs]

Craig: Lucas, listen to me. I have to leave in the morning. Nancy and Joy both need me.

Lucas: Yeah, I know.

Craig: I wouldn't leave otherwise. So that puts me in a position where I have to completely trust you.

Lucas: I will do what's best for Chloe, all right?

Craig: Right. You think it was best for Chloe that you're gonna tell her how much you hate her when we have real reason to believe that she can hear us and understand us?

Lucas: Now look here--

Craig: No.

Lucas: It's not--

Craig: You look here. You are responsible for Chloe now, so live up to that responsibility, and you do what's right. Think about it as if it's--as if that is your own daughter lying in there.

Justin: Tonight, as I was leaving, Henderson said that you'd invited Daniel to stay with you.

Victor: He's my godson. He's family.

Justin: As is Kate. And what a great idea to have them both as house guests, Daniel having such a high opinion of her and everything.

Victor: Daniel has been under a great deal of pressure.

Justin: You know how he explains what happened to Chloe, don't you?

Victor: Well, he's totally wrong.

Justin: You're sure about that?

Victor: Just drop it, Justin. Kate had nothing to do with poisoning Chloe.

Justin: Well, we'll see what Chloe will say about that.

Victor: Nothing. Chloe's not gonna say anything about anything.

Justin: Well, then you don't know everything, because tonight, she came out of her coma and spoke.

Kate: My poor babies. I told that incompetent maid to be careful. [Sighs] Leaving them like that, after all that happened tonight.

Daniel: Oh, God. Oh. Oh.

Maggie: I want you to be proud of yourself like I am.

Melanie: You really are?

Maggie: By and large. If I don't think too much about the wet towels on the bathroom floor.

Melanie: Oh. Oh, so sorry. My bad, my bad.

Maggie: So you see? You see, you see, you see? You could have ratted out Nathan, and you didn't. You took the blame for him. That is not the Melanie that moved in here a year ago.

Melanie: You're right, I am a wonderful person. So if Nathan and I... you'd be all right with that?

Maggie: I would be more than all right. I would be totally okay.

Nathan: Totally okay with what?

Melanie: Ooh.

Nathan: What?

Melanie: [Laughs] Um...

[Doorbell rings]

Bo: Hey, Dean, what are you doing here?

Dean: Look, I-I-I know it's late.

Bo: No, no, no, that's not what I meant. Uh, come on in. Didn't Lexie send you home to get some rest? Hey, guys, look who's here.

Dean: I'm sorry to come barging in.

No, no, don't be silly. You're not barging in. How are you doing? How's the shoulder?

Dean: Oh, it's--it's okay. Hey, sweetheart, I thought you'd be asleep by now.

Bo: Bad dream.

Dean: Oh. Look, I'm gonna go.

No, no, no. Don't--don't be silly. Ciara and I were just going into the kitchen, actually, to warm up some milk. I think he's here to talk to you. Okay, come here, my delicious girl. Let's go make some--

Dean: I'm sorry to interrupt.

Bo: Hey, no problem. You're the reason our daughter's home, so please have a seat. You're welcome anytime. What, couldn't sleep? Didn't, uh, Lexie give you something for the pain?

Dean: No, she did. She--I just hate those things. Um, sir--

Bo: Oh, please. Bo.

Dean: I don't really feel comfortable with that. I never--I never killed anyone before.

Bo: Yeah, I know.

Dean: And, um, I, um--you know, going back to work, I-I, uh--

Bo: Listen, I can arrange leave, get you counseling. Whatever you need.

Dean: I was thinking about taking off for a while.

Bo: Taking off?

Dean: Yeah, I thought I might just use a little bit of that reward money and put some distance between me and what happened.

Bo: Hey, listen, Dean, I'm sorry, but--

Dean: Look, I know some people believe in counseling, but it's just not for me.

Bo: You know what? There's something I've got to clear up here. Uh, I'm sorry, but you're not eligible for that reward money.

Lucas: You know, I am still married to her.

Craig: I do know that, Lucas. That's why her fate is in your hands.

Lucas: And unlike her, I honored my vows. I lived up to my end of the bargain. And here you are, lecturing me about right and wrong?

Craig: It's because my daughter's life is on the line, damn it, and I don't want your anger to cloud your judgment.

Lucas: Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm not perfect, all right? I mean, after waiting days for something to happen in there, what happened? She speaks her lover's name? What am I supposed to do, laugh that off?

Craig: No, I'm not asking you to do that. I'm just asking you to be honest with yourself, honest about how emotional this situation really is.

Lucas: Well, thank you. Thank you for pointing that out. Now I understand how emotional this situation is. What would I do without you?

Craig: You know, Lucas, that's my daughter in there, okay? I-I know she's not perfect. She's made mistakes. But so have you, my friend.

Lucas: You know what? I think we've said enough here.

Craig: No, no, no, just listen to me. Your job right now, for the moment, is to protect her. You can judge her later.

Kate: What the hell are you doing here?

Victor: You're investigating Kate.

Justin: No stone unturned, right?

Victor: Wrong. Whoever you called, call them back and tell them to drop it. Don't go there.

Justin: Did I hit a nerve?

Victor: Justin, she's been through enough. One son almost assassinated, the other one cuckolded, publicly humiliated. Your job was to defend Daniel, nothing more.

Justin: I don't know. I'm a lawyer.

Victor: Perhaps you've been gone for quite a while and you've forgotten how I get when people defy me. Good news about Ciara, eh? It's been a hell of a night.

Justin: I wonder, Uncle Vic. Do we need to protect Kate because she's been through so much or done so much?

Daniel: I didn't know you'd be here.

Kate: Obviously.

Daniel: Yeah, I had a meeting with Justin, but he's running a little late, so I decided to see if you were in or not.

Kate: Oh. For old time's sake? [Laughs] I don't know. I would think that you would think about that a little bit more because what if you came up here and I started screaming. I don't think that would be good for your case, now would it?

Daniel: Hmm. I was just hoping we could talk.

Kate: [Sniffs] Seems to me that you might have taken a little Dutch courage before you climbed those stairs, Daniel.

Daniel: I was drinking. That's not why-- I guess I should have just left you a note.

Kate: Is that right? What was it gonna say?

Daniel: That I'm sorry.

Bo: Hey, I'm sorry, man. I wish things were different.

Dean: Yeah, I, um--I just, uh-- I-I thought--

Bo: Here's the problem. Um, department rules state that an officer who's on duty isn't eligible for any compensation other than his salary.

Dean: Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come over here and seem like I was hitting you up.

Bo: That's okay. I'm sorry. I wish I could give you the reward. You sure as hell deserve it. Dean: We can talk about the reward later.

Hope: What about the reward?

Bo: I was just explaining that, uh, an officer who's on duty isn't eligible for any compensation past his salary.

Hope: Uh, excuse me. He--he comes over here tonight, the night we have our daughter back, thanks to him, and this is what you choose to talk about?

Bo: No, that's not what happened.

Hope: We'll work something out.

Bo: Hope, don't.

Hope: I'll call my lawyer, and we'll figure out how to make this happen.

Bo: You can't.

Hope: Don't give me orders.

Dean: Look, I'm--I'm gonna go, okay? You guys have enough to deal with without me being here. I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry.

Bo: Dean, hold on a second.

Dean: I'll talk to you later, okay?

Hope: That man saved our daughter's life. That man gave us our daughter back.

Bo: Hope, you're a Salem police officer. What's gonna happen if the department finds out you're violating policy?

Hope: I'm sure you'll tell them.

Ciara: Why are you fighting?

Nathan: So what are we totally okay with?

Maggie: Uh... [Laughs] A system of fines for leaving wet towels on the bathroom floor.

Nathan: Oh!

Maggie: Okay, you know what? I will pick them up this time so you can start helping Melanie study.

Nathan: Sorry. Uh, sometimes--sometimes I forget and--

Maggie: Uh, okay. Well, maybe I'll let them pile up and then you'll remember.

Nathan: Yeah.

Maggie: Mm-hmm.

Nathan: Love you.

Maggie: Love you.

Nathan: She's not really mad, is she?

Melanie: No. Do you know what you would have to do to make her really mad at you? She kind of thinks you walk on water.

Nathan: It's just, at the hospital, I'm used to just throwing things on the floor.

Melanie: Well, that's the thing about this place. We don't have cute little orderlies running around, picking up our stuff.

Nathan: And I'm chastised.

Melanie: [Laughs]

Nathan: Anyways, so there's this website, right? That my friend has that you can do test exams on.

Melanie: Okay.

Nathan: Are you in?

Melanie: Yeah, let's do it.

Nathan: Okay.

Melanie: What?

Nathan: You were gonna study tonight, weren't you? You moved your shift around to help out Dr. Jonas so that you could pull an all-nighter.

Melanie: It's not a big deal.

Nathan: It kind of is. You're not exactly what meets the eye, are you? Not--not that there's anything wrong with what meets the eye.

Melanie: [Laughs] Oh, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

Nathan: I'm just saying.

Melanie: Now, uh, Dr. Horton, these are not biology practice tests. These are sports scores.

Nathan: Oh, well, first things first. Yes! Sorry. Uh, you don't like baseball?

Melanie: No, absolutely not.

Nathan: Oh, well, that's too bad. I was thinking maybe we could have caught a game, but-

Melanie: Oh, hey, no, hey. Go Cubbies, you know. So... [Laughs] Biology time now?

Nathan: Right. [Clears throat] [Laughs] Right.

Melanie: [Laughs]

Philip: There is nothing in your refrigerator except that green thing that moved, even as I watched.

Stephanie: You're hungry?

Philip: I was till I saw that.

Stephanie: [Groans] Now I'm hungry. I wish you hadn't said anything. Whatever happened to those nachos?

Philip: We got engaged instead.

Stephanie: Oh, yeah. That is better than nachos.

Philip: Mmm. Well, now you're hungry, so I'm gonna run out and get you whatever you want. Caviar, champagne?

Stephanie: A popsicle.

Philip: Huh?

Stephanie: Not grape. Oh, I hate grape.

Philip: What? You want a popsicle? That's all you want?

Stephanie: No. I want a popsicle and I want you.

Philip: [Laughs]

Hope: She went right to sleep.

Bo: Good.

Hope: I just pray to God she has a good night's sleep. We have to be more careful. She can't hear us arguing like this.

Bo: I know.

Hope: But I'm not changing my mind. Hey, you went on television and said we were giving a $5 million reward to whoever found Ciara. I won't go back on our word.

Bo: Hope.

Hope: Bo, please. Please. I am so tired of this.

Bo: Yeah, so am I.

Hope: Where--where are you going?

Bo: Just give us some time and space.

Hope: Bo, please.

Bo: I won't be gone long. I just need to get a little air.

Hope: Brady. Oh, God, help us. What's--what's happening to us?

Kate: You're sorry?

Daniel: You're surprised by that? You don't think I know how much I've screwed up, how many people I've hurt?

Kate: I thought I was the one who was always at fault.

Daniel: You know, as long as, uh, well, I can remember, when life was rough and Rebecca was sick, I would work and work and work. I made sure there wasn't time to think, to feel.

Kate: [Sighs]

Daniel: Well, I have time now. Lots and lots of time. I think, even when I don't want to think, about what I've done, and why.

Kate: And why?

Daniel: I told you. Down at the docks, when you just so easily dumped me, you threw me, Roberts. You threw me for a loop.

Kate: Well, I was there, Jonas, and you didn't even blink because you were already focusing on Ms. Lane.

Daniel: No. No, I think Ms. Lane was revenge to hurt you, like you want to hurt me now.

Kate: And now you're sorry?

Daniel: More than you'll ever know.

Melanie: Um, "d," none of the above.

Nathan: Final answer?

Melanie: Ooh...yeah.

Nathan: And you aced it. Aah!

[Both imitate explosion]

Melanie: [Laughs]

Nathan: You're totally gonna ace this test in the morning.

Melanie: Well, thanks to you.

Nathan: You did all the work. I just sat next to you. [Yawns] Excuse me.

Melanie: How many hours have you slept?

Nathan: I'm fine.

Melanie: Mm-mm. You're an intern. You need all the sleep you can get, so go to bed.

Nathan: Mmm, bed. That does sound good. [Sighs]

Melanie: And thank you. You didn't just sit next to me. You made me feel like I knew what I was talking about.

Nathan: Well, you're the one that said we make a good team, huh?

Melanie: Mm-hmm.

Nathan: All right, well, listen...

Melanie: [Clears throat] I finished my Cheerios, and if I'm not awake when you wake up in the morning, knock on my door because I've already been late twice.

Nathan: Ooh. Okay. Good night.

Melanie: Bonne nuit.

Justin: Adrienne, I can't come home right now. I'm preparing a case. Well, I have responsibilities. I-- I am not running away. Adrienne. [Sighs] Damn it. Hi.

Hope: Hi.

Justin: Yeah, I just wanted to come and yell at my wife on your front porch.

Hope: Feel free. We're not doing anything else with it.

Justin: So you wanted to see me?

Hope: Yeah, please, I'm sorry. Come on in.

Justin: So, uh, is something wrong? I'm sort of surprised to hear from you. Bo gone to bed?

Hope: Bo, um, is giving me some space. See? You're not the only one arguing with your spouse tonight.

[Monitor beeping]

Craig: I love you. [Kiss] Well, I, uh, hope everything gets better for you real soon, Lucas.

Lucas: I don't see how.

Craig: Well, uh, just don't give up the hope, okay? And--and please, call if there's anything we can do, if there's anything you need.

Lucas: Yeah, I hope Nancy's okay when you get home.

Craig: Yeah. Right. Well... you take good care of her, okay? Please?

Lucas: Yeah. Well, your father wants me to take care of you. The question is, how?

Victor: Oh, I know you. Uh, Philip, isn't it?

Philip: [Laughs] Hello, father.

Victor: Well, long time no see. Oh, yes, now I remember. Your life needed a new direction. You needed to find the inner Philip.

Philip: I'm always so impressed by your ability to let things go.

Victor: The way you let your job go and your legacy? What are you, a messenger now?

Philip: I'm happy now. Stephanie and I are back together. Actually, we're engaged again.

Victor: So, no job, but you've got your love to keep you warm, right?

Philip: Dad, be happy for me. I'm in love with her. There's nothing that's gonna change that.

[Computer beeps]

Melanie: Ooh, "Salut, girlfriend. Greetings from Marseilles." Hey, Saundry, what's up?

Melanie: "Looks like you still know how to party. I loved this link, and who is that guy? He's dreamy." What? Oh, my God. Oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God. [Sighs]

Hope: I mean, I don't care what Bo says. I want--I want that man to get the reward. It's only right.

Justin: So that's why Bo needed space?

Hope: [Sighs]

Justin: You two were fighting about the reward?

Hope: Bo and I, we--we were-- oh, never mind. You don't even want to know. After everything and all the help that you gave us, when--when Ciar--when-- oh, God.

Justin: It's okay. It's okay.

Hope: [Sighs]

Justin: Let it go. It's okay.

Hope: [Sighs]

Lucas: Your father wants me to forgive you... but as far as I'm concerned, that is off the table.

Kate: Well, I'm sorry too.

Daniel: You are?

Kate: Yes. I mean, if I hurt you. According to your scenario, I put all of this in motion when I quit you.

Daniel: I just think... [Sighs] You know, I think things could have been so different. I think we could have had it all.

Kate: Well, like the book says, wouldn't that be lovely? Lovely to think? This has been really an exhausting day. I think I'm gonna go to bed. Alone.

Daniel: Of course. I meant what I said. I am sorry. But not as sorry as you're gonna be.

Melanie: There's this video. The sex kind.

Arianna: Of you and Philip?

Stefano: I gave you a mission and you failed.

Sami: Dr. Baker was murdered.

Nicole: [Gasps]

Rafe: Does a Colt .45 to the head mean anything to you?
