Daniel: If I didn't know better, I'd say that's a breakup set. You getting it out of your system?

Philip: Something like that. [Grunts]

Daniel: Good luck. Hope it works for you.

Kate: You know, Chloe, if you think that you should stay a little longer...

Chloe: No, I'm fine, okay? I...just wanna get out of here.

Kate: I just don't want you to rush things. You still look a little pale.

Chloe: Kate, the doctors ran every test known to man, and they don't know if anything's wrong with me.

Kate: But your fever's all gone, right?

Chloe: Yeah, the fever, the dizziness. I'm starting to feel like my old self again.

Kate: Good! That is so good. That's exactly what we wanna hear. Um, Chloe, I really hate asking you something like this, but...

Chloe: What?

Kate: Well, since you're back to your old self, I was wondering if you would be up to taping the show that we had scheduled for today.

Chloe: Really?

Kate: Yeah. I mean, normally, I would never ask you something like this, and I would just reschedule it. But, uh, this is the last day that Daniel's going to be available to us.

Chloe: Wait, the-- he's leaving today?

Kate: Mm-hmm. That's what he told me. Oh. You must be so relieved that you won't have to see him anymore. You won't have to be tempted by him anymore.

Rafe: [Humming] Oh, no, not there. God...

[Knock on door]

Rafe: Hey, Commander Brady.

Roman: Hey, Rafe, how you doing?

Rafe: Okay, good. Come on in.

Roman: Ah, okay, thanks.

Rafe: Playing a little ball today?

Roman: Oh, it's just a welcome home gift for Johnny. Thought it was time to teach him how to throw a slider.

Rafe: Yeah, well, that sounds great but...the kids are with your mom today. In fact, Sami just went over there to bring them some extra clothes.

Roman: Really?

Rafe: Yeah. Yeah. Is that a problem?

Roman: No. It's not a problem. I just thought that, uh... she'd probably wanna spend every waking hour with...the son she fought so hard to get back. But, hey, life gets in the way. Plans change. Looks like you moved in.

Rafe: Sami didn't tell you?

Roman: Maybe she was afraid I wouldn't approve.

Rafe: And you don't, do you?

Meredith: [Sobbing] Emily!

Sami: Are you okay?

Meredith: Oh, my God, you scared me.

Sami: Oh, uh, sorry.

Meredith: I thought I was alone.

Sami: Yeah, no, uh...just me.

Meredith: Such an out of the way spot. Hardly anybody knows about it.

Sami: Yeah. I know we wanna keep it that way.

Meredith: It's so beautiful here, but...

Sami: But?

Meredith: I still can't believe what happened.

Melanie: [Whistling]

Maggie: Hello, Melanie.

Melanie: Oh! Hi, Maggie.

Maggie: What are your plans for the day? Are you going to the cabin?

Melanie: Eech. No. Uh-uh.

Maggie: No?

Melanie: Uh...not that it's not lovely, it's just, um, it reminds me of my matchmaking flops.

Maggie: Mm. Well, maybe you should take up another hobby.

Melanie: Yeah. Even I know it's over between Philip and Stephanie.

Maggie: Testing to see if they're done?

Melanie: You said it, Maggie. They're done.

Stephanie: Nathan. You have a second?

Nathan: For you. What's up?

Stephanie: I am working on this new press release for the new class of interns, and I was hoping you could give me some information.

Nathan: Okay. Uh, on?

Stephanie: The Horton legacy. I'm doing a feature on you.

Nathan: On me? Why?

Stephanie: Well, because you have a fascinating story. And I am looking forward to hearing about it.

Sami: Did something happen here?

Meredith: It wasn't here, exactly, but...all the same, I'm having a hard time finding peace in this place.

Sami: Why's that?

Meredith: It is...filled with memories of my sister, Emily.

Sami: Emily died the day she was supposed to marry Rafe. Why? What happened?

Meredith: [Sniffling] I am sorry. I don't usually lose it in front of complete strangers.

Sami: Oh, it's okay. Don't apologize.

Meredith: You're very kind. Thank you. I miss my sister so much.

Sami: Of course you do.

Meredith: We used to come here all the time.

Sami: Really? If you don't mind my asking, what happened to her?

Meredith: We have so many happy memories here with our family and...later with Emily's fiancé. This was her favorite place.

Daniel: You might wanna take it easy there. You'll pop something.

Philip: Right. I'll keep that in mind.

Daniel: I'm serious, you know. It wasn't all that long ago that you took a shot to the chest.

Philip: I guess we heal fast in Salem.

Daniel: Some of us do.

Philip: Oh. You're telling me to take it easy. Look at you.

Daniel: Yeah, only I'm not the one who took a bullet.

Philip: You trying to get something off your chest?

Daniel: You're making me lose my count.

Philip: Ah... my dad tells me you're leaving town. Is that true?

Daniel: Well, that a matter of fact. I should be packing right now.

Philip: Well... we're gonna miss you.

Daniel: Yeah, what are you gonna do? It's time to move on.

Philip: Is it woman troubles?

Daniel: Yeah, something like that. It feels like it might just be easier to... start a new life someplace else.

Chloe: So, um, did Daniel explain why he was leaving?

Kate: Why do you think he's leaving? He's leaving because of you.

Chloe: Wait, but that doesn't make any sense. I mean, we both decided that we could work and live in the same town and--why would he just give up his job and his whole life?

Kate: Chloe... you're not upset that he's leaving, are you?

Roman: What Sami does is her business. She's a grown woman. I got no say in the matter.

Rafe: Well, it doesn't change the fact that you have issues with me.

Roman: Rafe, the only issue I have with you is the way you handled the situation with grace and the fact that your lies almost robbed Sami of both her sons. But I also know... your heart was in the right place and that you love her very much and want the best for her.

Rafe: You got that right.

Roman: You do need to know that... it takes a very special person to love Sami the way she needs to be loved.

Rafe: [Laughs] Yeah, I think I'm catching on to that pretty quickly.

Roman: But you also need to know this: You are the first man I've known that I think just might actually be up to the task.

Rafe: Well, thank you for the vote of confidence. I appreciate that.

Roman: Take care of her, Rafe. You take care of her. Don't let her get hurt again.

Sami: Well, I'm, um...I'm very sorry for your loss.

Meredith: Thank you. Are you okay?

Sami: Yeah, I... I lost my daughter recently and...and so you talking about your sister, it--it just, uh... the grief is never that far away.

Meredith: My heart goes out to you.

Sami: Thank you. I'm Sami Brady, by the way. It's nice to meet you.

Meredith: Meredith. Meredith Hudson.

Sami: Hudson.

Meredith: Yes.

Maggie: [Humming] Whoa! Well, where are you off to?

Melanie: Dinner with Nathan.

Maggie: Oh, that's right. He mentioned he was taking you out.

Melanie: Well, I--no. He's just--well, he's just taking me out to celebrate passing my nursing school exam.

Maggie: Have I told you how proud I am of you, Melanie?

Melanie: Mm, like a hundred times. But feel free to say it again.

Maggie: I'm terribly proud of you. [Laughing] Oh, you are gonna make a wonderful nurse one day.

Melanie: Who'd-a thunk it?

Maggie: I would have. I've always had faith in you.

Melanie: Well, you're like the only one.

Maggie: No.

Melanie: No, I'm...I'm just kidding. Well, I'm off.

Maggie: You have a wonderful time, honey.

Melanie: Okay, I will. Oh, and, uh... Maggie...

Maggie: Yes.

Melanie: I know what you're thinking, but this is just so not a big deal. You know, I uh, uh...we have dinner here every night all the time. It's just--it's not a big deal. So just--expectations, low.

Maggie: Okay. You got it.

Melanie: Yeah.

Maggie: Yeah.

Melanie: Yeah, I'm just... I--

Maggie: Have a good time.

Melanie: Okay.

Maggie: Oh... [Sighs]

Nathan: Hey, Dr. Jonas.

Daniel: Nathan. Everything good?

Nathan: Yeah. Everything's fine. What'd you do, come back to check up on me?

Daniel: No. Just finishing up some things before I go.

Nathan: Ah.

Daniel: On the road again.

Nathan: Yeah, well, I don't know what we're gonna do without you here.

Daniel: Well, you know what, you'll be fine without me. As long as you remember one thing.

Nathan: Yeah? What's that?

Daniel: Sleep is overrated.

Nathan: Ha. What's sleep? Oh, hey, before you go, actually, um, can I ask you one last favor?

Daniel: Yeah. Sure. Ask away.

Nathan: We're about to discharge a patient, and, uh, we haven't figured out what's wrong with her. She's doing fine now, but she's got a really complicated medical history, so, uh... since you're the best diagnostician, I figured well, you mind checking out her file?

Daniel: No. No problem.

Nathan: Thanks.

Nathan: [Beeper] Oop. And...never mind. I guess we'll have to diagnose without you. Unless you can stick around for a while.

Daniel: No, actually, I gotta be somewhere. I'm late already.

Nathan: I totally understand. Well, best of luck to you, Dr. Jonas. Thank you.

Daniel: Luck is also overrated. Do me proud.

Nathan: I will do my best.

Chloe: Am I upset that Daniel's leaving? No, uh... actually, I'm relieved. It's for the best.

Kate: I agree. He deserves a fresh start.

Chloe: Yes, he does.

Kate: Just like you got a fresh start with Lucas. And speaking of your adorable husband, has he called you? Have you talked to him?

Chloe: Ah, yeah, just for a minute to tell him I'm okay.

Kate: Oh. He felt so badly that he wasn't here when you got sick.

Chloe: Oh, I know, but really, I'm fine and I told him not to rush home. The doctors don't even know if there's anything wrong with me and I'm sure it won't happen again.

Kate: No, you're gonna be fine. Lightning never strikes a third time.

Chloe: Yeah. Uh, but you know what, I probably gotta get dressed for the show now. Excuse me.

Kate: Go ahead, take your time. The third time, Chloe... is the charm.

Rafe: I'll protect Sami with my life, Commander. That is a promise.

Roman: I'll hold you to that.

Rafe: Trust me, I will never let anything happen to her.

Roman: Better not. I mean that, my friend. Better not.

Sami: So you used to come here with Emily and... and her fiancé.

Meredith: Yes, I did. I really have to go.

Sami: Well, uh, sorry. Meredith, um... do you mind my asking, how did she die?

Kate: Here we go.

Maggie: Oh, hey!

Kate: All right, we have a million things to do and only a few minutes to get them done. So, Chris?

Chris: Yes, present and accounted for. Anything you need.

Kate: The wardrobe. I really think we need to, to add something, maybe a scarf, something summery, something light. What do you think, Chloe?

Chloe: Oh. Yeah, okay, sounds fine to me.

Maggie: Uh, actually, I have a lovely scarf upstairs I think would be perfect.

Kate: Oh, fantastic. Could you get that? Chris, could you help her? Chloe?

Chloe: Yeah.

Kate: Okay, 'cause we need to get this show going.

Maggie: I have to get ready to go to the hospital, so.

Kate: Now that Daniel's decided to leave town, this has to be the endgame. And Daniel hates chocolate. So these are all for you, Chloe.

[Door opens and closes]

Melanie: Hi, Ari.

Arianna: Hey.

Melanie: You're not still mad at me, are you?

Arianna: No, it's forgotten.

Melanie: Good.

Arianna: Aren't you dressed up.

Melanie: Do I look stupid, do I look like I tried too hard?

Arianna: No, you look great. What's going on?

Melanie: Uh, nothing. Well, not nothing. I'm getting dinner, just with a friend. It's just dinner, no biggie.

Arianna: Okay. Who is it that you're meeting?

Melanie: Nathan Horton.

Arianna: Oh... sounds like that'll be fun.

Melanie: Look, Ari, about you and Brady--

Arianna: Let's not bring it up again.

Melanie: No, I just--I'm sorry. I never should have been so pushy.

Arianna: It's, it's fine.

Melanie: It's not fine. I mean, had I known about your very dramatic boyfriend history, I never would have-- [Sucks in teeth] You know, but if it's any consolation, you and Brady do--

Arianna: So Nathan Horton, huh? That sounds promising.

Melanie: Shh, let's not-- let's not announce it to the whole pub. Why is everyone trying to make this out like it's this big date-date, it's just dinner. You know, with my friend, my roomie from Maggie's, who's now late. Where are you, Nathan?

Nathan: Whoa, I didn't realize how late it was.

Stephanie: Going somewhere?

Nathan: The pub.

Stephanie: A date?

Nathan: No. Melanie.

Stephanie: Melanie?

Nathan: Yeah. She, she owes me a meal. It's this poker game, it's really--I don't feel like explaining it. What's that look?

Stephanie: There's no look.

Nathan: Stephanie. What are you thinking?

Stephanie: Listen, I'm the last person who should be giving love advice, so you and Melanie have a great time.

Nathan: Thanks. See you tomorrow.

Stephanie: Right.

Stephanie: I'm sorry, Philip. I just, I can't hide from the truth anymore.

Meredith: I'm sorry, I'd really rather not talk about it.

Sami: Of course. I didn't mean to pry.

Meredith: It's just, my sister's death was tragic. She was so young. I really have to be going.

Sami: Right. Right.

Rafe: Hey.

Sami: Hey, you.

Rafe: I made it.

Sami: Have any trouble finding it?

Rafe: No, not really.

Sami: Good.

Rafe: Well, you give excellent directions.

Sami: Yeah. So you--you like it?

Rafe: Uh, yeah, it's great. Well, you look beautiful. As always.

Sami: Thanks.

Rafe: Okay, what's wrong?

Stephanie: Hi.

Philip: Am I allowed to say hi back?

Stephanie: Allowed to, what are you talking about?

Philip: Well, you said we weren't supposed to talk to each other again, so...

Stephanie: Philip, don't.

Philip: What? What, that's not the case?

Stephanie: You want to make this harder than it already is?

Philip: All right, so... hi.

Stephanie: Hi.

Philip: How's the new job?

Stephanie: Good, good.

Philip: Good.

Stephanie: I like it.

Philip: I'm glad. I'm glad.

Stephanie: What are you doing here?

Philip: A hospital board meeting. Actually Rachel, the one who had your position before, she was my main contact on the staff, so…

Stephanie: Right.

Philip: If you were hoping I was out of sight, out of mind, you're out of luck. [Chuckles]

Nathan: Hey.

Melanie: Hi. Oh, you made it.

Nathan: Yeah, sorry I'm late. I got caught up at work.

Yeah. No, I figured.

Arianna: Hey, Nathan.

Nathan: Ari, hey, how's it going?

Arianna: Good, how are you?

Nathan: Good.

Arianna: Get you guys something to drink?

Nathan: Uh--

Melanie: Can I have some iced tea?

Nathan: I'll do the same, thanks.

Arianna: You got it.

Nathan: So. Did you tell Maggie that you passed your nursing test?

Melanie: Uh, yes, I did. She was very Maggie-esque. Lots of gushing and hugging.

Nathan: Yeah. She really cares about you. A lot, actually.

Melanie: Yeah, she really sees the best in me, even if there's not a lot of best in me to see.

Nathan: Stop it. What did we talk about? No putting ourselves down.

Melanie: You're right. I am a wonderful amazing person and it is about time somebody recognized that.

Nathan: Better.

Melanie: [Giggles]

Nathan: [Groans]

Melanie: Is that a pager, Dr. Horton?

Nathan: Yes, the fun never ends for lowly interns.

Melanie: [Giggles]

Nathan: It's the E.R.

Melanie: But do--do you have--do you have to go?

Nathan: I do. I'm sorry, Mel, I, um, I'll probably only be an hour. I can--we can take a rain check.

Melanie: Uh, no, I mean, I'll wait.

Nathan: Really?

Melanie: Yeah, no, I mean, I can, I can read the menu a couple times, um, make some phone calls, powder my nose in the bathroom, talk to Ari--

Nathan: Well look, hey, I'll hurry. All right? And I'm--thank you. And I promise I will make it up to you when I get back? Okay?

Melanie: I'll be here.

Chloe: Are you sure that this goes with my dress?

Chris: Totally! It brings out those gorgeous Bette Davis eyes. But here, let me fix the knot. That is so much better.

Chloe: Daniel.

Daniel: Chloe. Think we can have a word? Alone?

Chris: Um, I actually don't think there's time for a pow wow--

Daniel: No, it's really important.

Kate: Oh, Chris, it's okay. Let them have a moment. Chloe? Bon appétit.

Chloe: Oh, um, thanks. So what did you want to talk about?

Daniel: So you heard that I'm leaving?

Chloe: Yeah, I heard that.

Daniel: Mm. Well, I just thought I'd tell you myself.

Chloe: So, um, what happened? Things didn't work out with that woman you're seeing?

Daniel: What?

Chloe: Oh, well, Lucas mentioned to me that you were dating someone, so.

Daniel: Dating someone? I have no idea what he's talking about.

Chloe: You don't?

Daniel: No. There is no other woman for me, Chloe.

Rafe: You sure you're okay?

Sami: Yeah, yeah, I just have a chill.

Rafe: Chill? It's, like, 90 degrees out. You sick or something?

Sami: No, I'm not sick.

Rafe: Well, then what is it?

Sami: I'm just worried about you.

Rafe: You're worried about me? Uh, why, 'cause I was late? I can explain that.

Sami: Why, did something happen?

Rafe: Uh, well, yeah, your father came by the townhouse.

Sami: Oh, God. I didn't tell him that you were moving in.

Rafe: No, you didn't. But he figured it out in, like, a second and a half.

Sami: Was he upset?

Rafe: Well, it was awkward. At first. But then, actually, he came around, and believe it or not, he gave us his blessing.

Sami: Really?

Rafe: Yeah.

Sami: That's great.

Rafe: I know. So... a little vino Toscano? It's good for picnics in special places.

Sami: Yeah. It's special.

Rafe: To us. And our future together.

Sami: To us.

Stephanie: Philip, I'm not naive. I knew you'd never be completely out of sight or out of mind.

Philip: But you were hoping.

Stephanie: Look. I plan on being completely professional about this, and I know you will be too. And who knows, maybe one day we can even be friends.

Philip: Hmm. Friends. I'm not sure I could handle that. Excuse me.

Kate: Damn it, Chris.

Chris: I am sorry, Miss Roberts.

Kate: I told you I wanted the antique picture. I wanted it on set and ready to go.

Chris: I honestly don't remember you saying that.

Kate: I don't care what you remember! I said it. It's not there.

Chris: Okay. I'll run to the store then, it will only take me ten minutes--

Kate: No, I'm gonna run. I'm gonna go get it, and that way I know it will arrive safely.

Chloe: You know what, just forget I even said anything.

Daniel: I'm not sure that's possible.

Chloe: Listen, if you're dating someone, it's really none of my business.

Daniel: No, I'm not dating anyone. I just told you that.

Chloe: Then what was Lucas talking about?

Daniel: I have no idea. But whatever it was, it is not true.

Chloe: Really?

Daniel: Really.

Chloe: 'Cause when I was sick, I-- I was having these spells and I'd be delirious, and half the time I didn't even know where I was, but... I kept having these dreams about you, and our future together. And when I'd wake up, I would just have the feeling that I wanted to keep dreaming. Daniel, you're all I ever think about.

Daniel: Same here.

Chloe: And I know that I said that I was gonna commit to Lucas and never waver and never look back, but almost dying made me realize that I made a terrible mistake marrying him.

Daniel: Stop talking, don't say--

Chloe: No, it's true, okay? I have to say it because I think I just tried to persuade myself that what I felt for him was love and that I wanted him and needed him, but the truth is, for the first time in my life, I know what real love is. And I know that you're the only man that I'll ever truly love.

Sami: What?

Rafe: What? Nothing, I was just-- just thinking about the last time we had a date in the woods.

Sami: You mean when I fell in the river and then we ended up almost getting arrested?

Rafe: Yep, that's the one.

Sami: Well, luckily that's not gonna happen again.

Rafe: Well, not unless this is protected land. It's not, right?

Sami: No, it's not. I actually double checked.

Rafe: Good thinking then.

Woman: That was quick.

Philip: Well, let me tell you something, I made myself a promise. A couple years back, no board meeting shall exceed one half hour, especially one with an open bar.

Woman: Mm. Which you took full advantage of.

Philip: Mm-hmm, and how shrewd of me to shift the venue to Chez Rouge.

Woman: Mm, you're nothing if not shrewd.

Philip: Yeah, so what do you say, the Brady pub? Who knows. You know, I might break in my checkbook. If you give me drunk enough, I'll make another donation.

Woman: It's tempting, but, uh, maybe some other time?

Philip: You change your mind, you'll know where I'll be.

Woman: Mm-hmm.

Philip: Uh...

Nathan: That was him, huh? The guy you were, uh--

Stephanie: Going to marry. And spend the rest of my life with, yeah. That was him.

Nathan: Oh, so you two were engaged.

Stephanie: Briefly. I had a ring, we just hadn't set a date yet.

Nathan: It's gotta be rough running into him everywhere.

Stephanie: Yeah, there's no avoiding it.

Nathan: You two together a long time?

Stephanie: Not really. But it was really intense, obviously.

Nathan: So it just didn't work out, huh?

Stephanie: In a nutshell.

Nathan: Want me to kill him? Just kidding. I don't know how, but he seems to be dealing with it a lot better than you.

Stephanie: Maybe he's just a little more resilient.

Nathan: Or he's just pretending.

Stephanie: It just seems so unreal now. After he was shot, and the hospital was standing right over here wondering whether or not he was gonna die. And now he's acting like he's dead to me. Well, I'm the one who told him to do that, so no one to blame but myself.

Nathan: Stephanie. I'm sorry.

Stephanie: Yeah, me too.

Chloe: Great timing, right? Telling you all this before you leave.

Daniel: Great timing, I don't care about the timing, Chloe.

Chloe: It's wrong.

Daniel: No, it is not wrong, it is right. It is finally right.

Chloe: You should just have your freedom.

Daniel: Freedom, what are you talking about? How can you say that?

Chloe: I have been nothing but trouble for you.

Daniel: No, stop. Stop. Nothing could be further from the truth. Do you know or have any idea how much I love you? Just being with you. You're all I want. 'Cause without you, do you know... do you know how long I have waited for this moment? My God, you feel warm.

Chloe: Oh, um, they took my temperature at the hospital this morning. They said it was normal.

Daniel: What? You were at the hospital this morning?

Chloe: Yeah, I got sick again. And they ran a bunch of tests and didn't know what was wrong again, and the fever just went away by itself.

Daniel: Well, why didn't you call me?

Chloe: You know why.

Daniel: No, you call me. Something is not right, and I'm gonna find out what it is.

Chloe: Daniel, it's okay.

Daniel: No, it is not okay. I am not gonna leave town when you're sick. I won't do it, I can't do it. No, I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, do you understand? Never again.

Sami: Wait. Rafe.

Rafe: What?

Sami: I can't. Here, I mean. I mean--'cause I have to go. I promised Grandma I'd, um, I'd get the twins.

Rafe: What? All right, uh, I'll go with you then.

Sami: Well, we drove in separate cars, remember?

Rafe: Uh, yeah, but, uh, you know, it's still--

Sami: Don't worry about it. Uh, I'll just meet you at home. You don't mind grabbing the blanket, Rafe.

Rafe: Uh, no, I got it.

Sami: Yeah.

Rafe: Oh, man. Like the sound of that.

Sami: So do I. I'll see you later, okay?

Rafe: Yeah, well-- I'll see you there. At home.

Maggie: Well hello.

Nathan: Maggie, hey. Are you here for your volunteer shift?

Maggie: I am indeed. And why are you still here? I thought you and Melanie were--

Nathan: We were--we are having dinner together, yes. But five minutes in, I got called back in here. So I have one patient left, and I'm heading back.

Maggie: Uh-huh.

Nathan: In fact, actually, I should text her and let her know--

Maggie: I think that would be a good idea.

Nathan: Mm.

Maggie: Mm-hmm.

Arianna: How long are you gonna wait for him to come back?

Melanie: Uh, I don't know. I don't have a life. But hey, at least I embrace it.

Arianna: Still wishing you were on a date with Philip instead, huh?

Melanie: Phil, a date? Who--no! No, I don't. I hate--now, those two minutes with Nathan were memorable. Besides, I am nobody's sloppy seconds.

Arianna: Good for you.

Melanie: I mean, yeah, sure the old me might have taken advantage of Philip's broken heart, but I'm reforming. I'm trying this whole "dignity" thing.

Arianna: Seems like that's working out well for you.

Melanie: Besides, I figure the nice guy is more my speed right now. You know, those bad boys, they're just all drama and that, uh, that gets boring after a while, so.

Arianna: Yeah, I, uh, know that all too well, unfortunately. I should get back to work. Okay.

Melanie: Yeah. Yeah, I'll see you.

Philip: Is this seat taken?

Melanie: Not right now.

Philip: How you been, Mel?

Melanie: Peachy.

Philip: Hmm. Good to hear.

Melanie: What about you? You seem smiley.

Philip: I've been worse. I've been worse. But things are always a little better when you get a new car.

Melanie: You didn't.

Philip: I did.

Melanie: In these tough economic times? Congratulations, Philip.

Philip: Guess what kind of car it is.

Melanie: [Whispering] A minivan.

Philip: A new Ferrari GT-- custom chrome, bronzed walnut, the works. You want to go for a ride?

Melanie: [Laughs]

Chloe: Daniel, I don't want you to leave. Ever. Please, I need you to stay.

Daniel: What about your promise to God?

Chloe: I don't care anymore. Okay, God can damn me if he wants, I can't help how I feel.

Daniel: Chloe.

Chloe: God. I've been so unfair to you and Lucas. And you know what, he deserves someone who loves him with their whole heart.

Daniel: What are you saying?

Chloe: What I'm saying is, I'm leaving him, all right? I love you, Daniel. And I want to be with you forever.

Kate: Chris, are you there?

Chris: Yes, hello? Yes, I'm right here on the job. Can you hear me now?

Kate: No, it's fine. It's this damn cell phone reception. Look, I have the picture and I'm on my way back.

Chris: Okay, all right. And again, I'm so sorry about that.

Kate: Chris, it's fine. Okay, what's going on there?

Chris: Um, Chloe and Daniel have been in the kitchen for a long time. Should I go check on them?

Kate: Close the set. We're gonna start taping immediately. I'll be there in five.

Stephanie: You truly are a godsend, Maggie.

Maggie: [Laughs]

Stephanie: Everyone around here says that you're more efficient than half the nurses.

Maggie: Oh, come on, I don't know about that. Oh, listen, I'd be here seven days a week if I could, and nothing brings me greater joy.

[Cell phone rings]

Maggie: Oh. Whoo. Oh, excuse me. Oh, I really should take this.

Stephanie: Oh, go ahead. We'll talk later.

Maggie: Okay, great. Hello. Chloe? Chloe. Are you there? Hello.

Chloe: Wait. Daniel. I can't talk to you. I can't do this anymore.

Daniel: If I can't have you, no one will.

Maggie: Chloe! Chloe. Are you there?

Rafe: Sami, where are you? Should have been back a while ago.

Roman: Hey, honey.

Sami: Dad, hey, thanks so much for meeting me, I appreciate it.

Roman: You okay? You sounded upset on the phone.

Sami: Um, yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I just need your help. I need you to look into something for me.

Roman: Sure, whatever I can do.

Sami: And I need you not to ask me why.

Roman: Okay.

Sami: A woman named Meredith Hudson, I need to find out everything I can about her--her family.

Roman: Why? Okay, right. Not supposed to ask.

Sami: Look Dad, it's really important. I just need to know everything I can about her past. Everything that's happened.

Bo: You do realize this is turning into a police investigation.

Nicole: I want to know everything about this boy.

Philip: Look, there's something that you need to know.

Nurse: She's gonna code.

Daniel: No, she's not. She will not code. I will not lose her.
