Philip: Hey, how'd you sleep?
Philip: It's a beautiful day, huh?
Philip: You okay?
Stephanie: I overheard you and your father talking last night. He told you to make sure that I don't hear all about the Kiriakis family business.
Philip: Hey...that's to protect you.
Stephanie: I know you love me.
Philip: Of course I do. [Gasps]
Melanie: Steph, you got a real problem, don't you?
Nathan: What's with the pills?
Daniel: Can you try to understand? I love my job at the hospital.
Daniel: [High-pitched sound] And even though Chloe and I can be professional, I don't want to cause problems for you.
Daniel: [High-pitched sound] I-I love my job at... I love...
Daniel: [High-pitched sound] And even though... Chloe... I love Chloe.
Chloe: You okay?
Lucas: Yeah. I forgot the back way.
Daniel: Oh, jeez!
Lucas: Whoa, whoa, watch it!
Nicole: I'll get it, Harold! Again.
Nicole: Oh. You.
Rafe: [Laughs] Yes.
Nicole: What do you want?
Rafe: I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry.
Philip: Steph? Honey, you okay?
Stephanie: Yeah, I just, um...just had a bad dream.
Philip: What about?
Stephanie: Uh...I don't remember.
Nicole: [Whispers] Hey... [Babbling] [Clears throat] So... you gonna tell me what you're so sorry for that made you take an extra trip over here?
Rafe: Uh, yes, actually, uh... just...felt bad at the cemetery for asking you all those questions. I know that you were at grace's grave, obviously upset and... instead of being sympathetic, I interrogated you.
Nicole: That you did.
Rafe: Yeah. But [Clears throat]... See, the thing is that I spent so many years in training it's hard for me not to be paranoid when I see something out of the ordinary.
Nicole: That I mourned a dead baby?
Rafe: Uh...who wasn't yours.
Nicole: You have a lot to learn about motherhood, Rafe. But as I explained to you... Grace was Sydney's half-sister.
Rafe: Again...sorry. What can I say? Uh... us law enforcement types, uh... we get suspicious over everything.
Nicole: Well, I'm not in law enforcement, and I'm always suspicious. So...you gonna tell me why you're really here?
Daniel: Ooh, I'M...sorry.
Chloe: That's okay. I'm fine.
Daniel: No, I'm sorry, I just--I-I- I thought you were gonna just fall over there, I didn't--
Lucas: Honey, you okay?
Chloe: Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you.
Daniel: Well, you, uh...guys have been shopping, huh?
Lucas: A little bit, yeah. A little bit. We're gonna stimulate the economy all by ourselves, aren't we, sweetie?
Daniel: Well, you certainly have a lot to carry there.
Lucas: Yeah. It's for the new house. You know? Gotta get stuff, get that place started.
Daniel: Oh, you guys--the house is finished? That's--that's--you're moved in?
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, it's great, man. You gotta check it out some time.
Daniel: No. No, I can't do that.
Melanie: Why do you care about a bunch of pills?
Nathan: Just curious.
Melanie: Yeah? You're a really curious guy, aren't you? Always looking to find new information.
Melanie: Okay, well, here's a little nugget of information for you, Nathan. Some things aren't any o f your damn business.
Maggie: Well, well, well! Good morning.
Melanie: Not for everyone.
Nathan: How can you let her live here?
Philip: You sure you're okay?
Stephanie: Of course.
Philip: I can call Lucas and cancel--
Stephanie: No, don't be silly. Go. I'm fine.
Philip: Well, you don't seem fine. I mean, how bad was this nightmare? Or is it your head? Are you feeling pain?
Philip: I can call Lucas--I'll-- let me call Lucas.
Stephanie: No, listen, I just, um... I overheard you and your father talking last night, and it was really intense. I was just wondering what it was about.
Philip: Oh, wow, if that was what's bothering you--look, it's business. It's boring business stuff. It's not even worth thinking about.
Stephanie: Okay, then go, go. Go, it's fine. I'll be fine. I'll call you if I need you.
Philip: Okay. I love you.
Stephanie: Love you too.
Rafe: I'm on the up-and-up here, okay? I just wanted you to know that I'm sorry for being a jerk at the cemetery.
Nicole: You weren't all that bad. I mean, once I explained to you why I was there and why I was so upset, you were pretty decent. But we both know you are not here to...apologize.
Rafe: You're right, actually, uh, there is another reason why I came by. Johnny's favorite book.
Nicole: Oh. Well, you can't give it to him because he's not here.
Rafe: Oh, right. Day camp. Yeah?
Nicole: Mm. E.J.'s probably dropping him off as we speak. But why did you bring this?
Rafe: Uh, excuse me?
Nicole: Well, Sami's not giving up, I s she? I mean, she's still gonna fight for joint custody at the hearing, right?
Rafe: As far as I know.
Nicole: So why would she hand over Johnny's book?
Rafe: Because kids, they, you know, they live for the now, today, and...Sami wants Johnny to be happy, even if it's just while he's here temporarily.
Rafe: I'll see you later.
Nicole: Okay. Bye.
Rafe: You know, I--actually, I almost forgot. I ran into someone that you know.
Nicole: Really? Who?
Rafe: Yeah, this young girl, uh... Mia?
Lucas: So you can't come see our new house?
Daniel: Anytime...soon. Now, look, I don't mean to be rude, but with my schedule at the hospital and the show, we're doing--
Lucas: That's all right. The house isn't going anywhere. Come by when you have a few precious moments, we'll hang out, chill a little, and Chloe here will fix you a great dinner. Won't you, honey?
Chloe: Yeah, right, and then I'll spill it all over you.
Lucas: [Laughs] You guys. Actually, I gotta meet Philip right now. Remember I told you I had that breakfast thing?
Chloe: Yeah, yeah, go, don't worry. Go, yeah, have your breakfast.
Lucas: You sure you're gonna be all right getting home?
Chloe: Yes, I'll be fine.
Lucas: All right. And you... you run with your head up from now on, okay, big guy?
Daniel: Head's up. You got it. Oh, my gosh. Look, I-I am so sorry. I hope I didn't insult Lucas--
Chloe: No, don't worry about it. I'm sure he understood. I mean, you're--you're busy, and, hey, maybe if two or three other people stop by the house, maybe you could join them.
Chloe: [Cell phone rings] Oh.
Daniel: Your phone.
Chloe: Yeah. [Ringing] Oh... hi, Kate.
Kate: We need to discuss the next h&h TV show.
Chloe: Oh, okay. Well, I have a few things to do first, but I can stop by later and we can--
Kate: Well, whatever you need to do, you need to do it later because I'm at the java cafe, and I expect you here now.
Maggie: I assume you know the reason why Melanie stormed out.
Nathan: 'Cause she's mad as hell and she wanted to get away from me.
Maggie: And why would that be?
Nathan: Because I know what she did to nick.
Maggie: What she did?
Nathan: Yeah, I put it all together, all right, and I let her know up front that I am not the type that forgives and forgets. Nick's my cousin.
Maggie: And he's my nephew!
Nathan: Exactly! That--why the hell are you so forgiving, Maggie?
Maggie: I love nick with all my heart! And I always will!
Nathan: And yet the woman who ruined his life is living here in your home. I mean, how does that add up?
Maggie: Nathan, may I give you a little advice?
Maggie: If you have any intentions of getting through your internship at the hospital... you are gonna stop jumping to conclusions, especially very wrong and very stupid ones.
Melanie: Hey, Steph. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.
Stephanie: It's okay.
Melanie: I just thought I'd come by, have a little chat, check up on you.
Stephanie: I'm really not in the chatting mood.
Melanie: Don't worry, I'm not gonna stay long, only like three or four hours. I'm kidding. I won't overstay my welcome. So...I got into nursing school.
Melanie: Yeah! I know, I couldn't believe it either. The lovely and influential Maggie swung her weight around, so that's probably how I got in.
Stephanie: Well, that's--that's great.
Melanie: I'm excited. I think I've, um...found my calling.
Stephanie: I-I...I think you'll be a really good nurse.
Melanie: Said with no conviction whatsoever.
Stephanie: No, I-I mean it. I mean, you're smart, determined...
Melanie: And I like to help people.
Stephanie: That too.
Melanie: Weird, huh, how we get along? Who'd-a thunk it?
Stephanie: I always thought you had a good heart.
Melanie: No. Look at me, just blabbing on. I haven't even asked how you're doing.
Stephanie: I'm fine.
Melanie: You having any more headaches?
Stephanie: Nothing a few aspirin can't take care of.
Melanie: Or a few of these?
Chloe: You know what? No, damn it.
Daniel: What, something wrong?
Chloe: Yeah. I'm not her slave.
Kate: Something wrong?
Chloe: Yes, uh, there is something wrong. I can't make it now, so we're gonna have to set another time.
Kate: I've been waiting for you, Chloe.
Chloe: Well, I'm sorry, Kate, but you only have a couple of options. It's either later today or another day or never. So what will it be?
Kate: [Exhales] All right, call me when you're free.
Chloe: Thank you. I will. Bye-bye. Ooh!
Daniel: Wow. Nice. Brave.
Chloe: Oh, she's driving me crazy with, "be here now, be there now." Oh, God!
Daniel: Well...that bad, huh?
Chloe: Yes, that bad. She's becoming more and more demanding and obnoxious every day.
Daniel: Really? 'Cause I haven't noticed that.
Chloe: Yeah. [Both chuckling] Anyway, I've gotta--
Daniel: A hair.
Chloe: I've gotta head over to the Kiriakis mansion to get something for Lucas.
Daniel: Ooh. You sure you want to do that? I mean, I could swing by there and get whatever you want if you need it--I mean, I know it's for Lucas, but...
Chloe: Thanks. What, so I could avoid my biggest fan?
Daniel: It'd be a plus, no?
Chloe: Yeah, it would be, but it's okay. I already called Henderson, and he said that Victor left for St. Louis this morning. So I'm okay.
Daniel: Wow. Look at that. You caught a break.
Chloe: Yeah, I did, finally. Oh, God, it was...Victor and Kate. I used to be really paranoid. Well, in general, just thinking that people were looking at me o r mocking me behind my back. But with Victor and my mother-in-law, it's...it's not paranoia. It's real.
Daniel: Yeah... I think you got a legitimate complaint with those two.
Chloe: [Laughs] Yeah. Oh, especially Victor. I mean, could he be any more obvious with how much he hates me?
Daniel: Yeah, it's just a little obvious, yeah? His behavior toward you--it's appalling. And I've, uh...I've come close to calling him out on it.
Chloe: Uh, it wouldn't do any good anyway.
Daniel: It wouldn't? No. I don't think it would. And I-I'm truly sorry that he insults you the way he does.
Chloe: Hey, it's okay. I mean, hey, I'm getting used to it. I can practically block him out now.
Daniel: Well, now, there's a gift.
Chloe: But, um... thank you, uh-- thank you for always sticking up for me. I really appreciate it. It really makes me feel... yeah.
Philip: Hey. Did you check with Zurich?
Carlo: You mean my bank account? The Herr direktor said it got a whole lot fatter.
Philip: Good work does not go unrewarded.
Carlo: Anything you want done, you just say the word.
Philip: I'll let you know.
Carlo: Anything at all.
Philip: I will l et you know. Hey, how'd the game go?
Carlo: We killed.
Philip: Really? Big chucker went the distance, huh?
Carlo: 11 ks, 7 hit batters.
Philip: Whoosh. Ouch!
Carlo: Oh, we're going all the way.
Philip: You're a star, Carlo. There'll be no talking to you. Hey. There's my date. 'Scuse me. Wow! What do you got there?
Lucas: Ah, some stuff for the new house. You know how it goes. Shopping's my favorite. What about you? You're not a big fan of breakfast. What's going on?
Philip: Well, I wanted to do this face-to-face.
Lucas: Uh-oh. All right, hit me.
Philip: Well, you know Stephanie and I are planning our wedding, so...
Lucas: Right, right, the big day.
Philip: Yeah. And I wanted to ask you to be my best man.
Lucas: Sorry, bro. There's just no way in hell.
Maggie: None of us realized how bad things were for nick... mentally. Nothing was working for him. He started taking pain pills mixed with alcohol. Eventually what came out of all that was that he was stalking Melanie for quite a while. He was obsessed with her. By the time people realized what was going on and that... he had been the one who'd killed Melanie's father... it was too late. See, he had taken her hostage.
Nathan: [Softly] Oh, my God.
Maggie: He was the one that was in the wrong here. It was not Melanie. And the reason he got a very light sentence was because she spoke up for him at his trial.
Maggie: Yes. She was so courageous and eloquent. She's a complicated person, Nathan. She's a lot smarter and kinder than most people give her credit for.
Nathan: And I didn't give her a chance to explain.
Maggie: Well, then maybe this is a good time to say I'm sorry. It's been known to work.
Melanie: I mean, these are yours, right?
Stephanie: Yeah. They were prescribed for me. How'd you get 'em?
Melanie: I was cleaning the exam room, and I saw 'em by your bed, so I scooped 'em up and put 'em in my purse. Caffeine would hit the spot. Can I... so tell me...is that your new car in the driveway?
Stephanie: Yes. Philip gave it to me for a graduation present.
Melanie: Yeah. That's awesome. First you graduate, then you get engaged, then you get a new car. Things are getting better and... better. [Sighs] Except for the, um...the whole Owen thing, almost dying, and hitting your head. Can I...can I do anything for you?
Stephanie: No. I'm fine. Uh, I really appreciate you being concerned and not just leaving those in the room.
Melanie :I just thought you should have them...just in case, you know? But if you don't want them...
Nicole: How did you run into Mia?
Rafe: She's friends with Sami's son, will.
Rafe: How do you know her?
Nicole: Oh. Uh, well, I... I volunteered at a center for troubled teens. She's really a sweet kid.
Rafe: You know she's a drug addict though, right?
Nicole: No. That is not true!
Stephanie: Melanie, I really appreciate you bringing these by.
Melanie: What are friends for?
Melanie: Steph, look, if you need 'em, you need 'em. There's no reason to be ashamed. You got to do what you got to do to get through the day, you know? That's how I look at it. Philip's got to be supportive.
Stephanie: Philip doesn't know I'm taking them.
Melanie: Philip doesn't know? I thought you guys told each other everything.
Stephanie: It's not a big deal, okay?
Melanie: Philip loves you. I mean, he's bound to care.
Stephanie: It's just, um... I can't dump this on him, okay? 'Cause he already feels like everything that's happened to me is his fault, and I don't want him wondering whether or not I'm recovering, okay?
Melanie: Sure you don't want me to talk to him about it?
Stephanie: No. I don't want him to think that I have to take these stupid pills to stay sane.
Melanie: Wreck your tough girl image.
Stephanie: Exactly. Can't do that.
Melanie: Okay. Then I got to do whatever it takes, I suppose.
Stephanie: I'm sorry?
Melanie: Oh...[Laughs] The ancient proverb that after you save someone's life, you're responsible for them until the day you die. So... I got your back.
Philip: Wow! Not the answer I expected.
Lucas: It's not about you.
Philip: It's not about me. How can it not be about me?
Lucas: It's about Victor. How can I stand up for you when the groom's father treats my wife like scum? I can't do that.
Philip: Yeah, I...can see that. Well, maybe I could talk to him. Maybe he'd be willing to bury the hatchet, at least for a day. [Chuckling] Who am I kidding, right?
Lucas: Look, thank you, all right? It means a lot to me, but... Chloe and I will be there. We'll be there a little late, we'll sit in the back, and we'll watch the whole thing. But I can't stand up at the altar with you. I'm sorry.
Maggie: Kate. Hi!
Maggie: It's hard to believe they've already made the move, isn't it?
Kate: I'm sorry?
Maggie: Lucas, Chloe. Lucas, Chloe.
Kate: Oh! Yes, of course.
Maggie: Oh, I'm dying to see the house. I assume you've already had the grand tour.
Kate: No, no, actually, I haven't. No, you know, I've had...kind of an overload, but I will soon.
Maggie: Okay. Well, do you have any ideas on a house-warming gift?
Kate: Well, I'm sure they'll like anything you send them. I mean, your taste is just fabulous, so...
Maggie: Well, I was kind of thinking, uh...maybe something for Allie. I saw some beautiful children's artwork online.
Kate: Yeah, yeah, that would be perfect. As long as you don't get them silverware.
Maggie: Ha ha! Oh, so is that what you bought them?
Kate: Yes, actually, I'm getting them silverware, a really elegant set. The knives are long and very sharp.
Kate: What are you getting them, Daniel?
Kate: Lucas and Chloe. Their house-warming gift.
Chloe: Stephanie, hi.
Stephanie: Hey, Chloe, how are you?
Chloe: I'm good, how are you?
Stephanie: I'm fine.
Chloe: I just came here to get something for Lucas, and Henderson said you were out here.
Stephanie: You want some coffee or something?
Chloe: Oh, no, I'm fine, thanks. But I heard about your fall yesterday. That must have been scary. How are you doing?
Stephanie: I told you I was fine when you walked in here. Why does everyone keep asking me that?
Rafe: What do you mean, Mia's not an addict? She admitted it to me yesterday.
Nicole: Well, I mean she went to rehab, so she's not a drug addict anymore.
Rafe: Oh. How do you know?
Nicole: Because...she goes to meetings. And look at her. Does she look like a drug addict? I mean, she has no dark circles under her eyes, she has plenty of energy.
Rafe: Mm-hmm. You ever go to meetings with her?
Nicole: No. Of course not. Those are private.
Rafe: Then you can't be sure, can you?
Nicole: Well, no, not FBI sure. What do you want, a blood test? What do you care anyway?
Rafe: Because she used to babysit Grace--a lot, actually.
Nicole: I know.
Rafe: And I'll be honest with you. I'm not, uh...I'm not a hundred percent sure that Mia is who she claims to be. So here's what I'm thinking. You give me the name and number of that teen center, and then I call 'em up and find out some more information.
Nathan: Hey, Mel.
Nathan: Oh, come on, give me one second, please. I, uh... need to apologize. You see, the thing is, uh... I thought I knew something about you, and it turns out that I was a hundred percent wrong.
Melanie: Imagine that.
Nathan: Anyway, um... I know what really went down between you and nick. And I need to apologize for not giving you a chance to explain and...for being a jerk. Can you forgive me? You're not gonna make this easy, are you?
Melanie: Why are you doing this?
Nathan: What, apologizing?
Melanie: Yeah, seriously, what do you want, my parking spot? You want to use my juicer? Trying to impress Maggie?
Nathan: No, no, I'm--I'm being sincere...okay? You didn't deserve to be treated that way. [Groans] What, you want me to get on my knees? [Laughs] Fine.
Melanie: No, no, get--no. [Laughs] Don't get on your knees. I'm not used to people apologizing to me. Usually I'm the one apologizing, and then they tell me to stay the hell away from them.
Nathan: Well, see, now it's me apologizing and...I really hope you don't tell me to stay the hell away from you.
Melanie: Well, I can hardly do that. I mean, we live in the same house, and we work at the same hospital, so... I don't really want you to stay away.
Nathan: So you forgive me.
Melanie: I guess so.
Nathan: Well, uh... now that we're friendly, kinda, um...I need to ask you a personal question.
Philip: Look, I'm not saying dad's a totally different guy, but things have definitely changed.
Lucas: Not with Chloe. Last time they bumped into each other, he called her the village slut. I'm not having that.
Philip: He said that. Hmm. Well...I can understand why you don't want to do the best man thing, but it's too bad. But no matter what, I have to make sure that Stephanie is happy. That this is the best day of her life.
Lucas: Why do you say it like that?
Philip: Like what?
Lucas: Like it's something you're not sure you can do.
Philip: Because I'm not sure...I can.
Stephanie: Chloe, I'm so sorry.
Chloe: Hey, no, no, no. No need to apologize.
Stephanie: That was totally uncalled for. I don't know why I reacted that way.
Chloe: Hey, it's okay. I do, I know. Relax. I remember when I was sick, I used to get so furious with people asking me how I was doing all the time. "Poor Chloe, how are you feeling? How are you doing?" Ugh! It would drive me crazy.
Stephanie: You were just trying to be nice, though. I'm sorry.
Chloe: Hey, you're on edge. It's okay. If and when you decide to talk to somebody, I know someone who would be really great. Someone who'd be a really big help.
Daniel: Well, I actually just found out today that Lucas and Chloe had moved into their new house. So...
Kate: Oh. Well, you are going to get them something, though, right?
Daniel: I will. I just...you know.
Kate: 'Cause after all, I mean, you and Chloe share quite a bit of history with Lucas, of course. And then there's the future to look forward to and the TV show. [Cell phone rings] Oh, sorry. I have to take this.
Maggie: Daniel, you don't have to get them a present.
Daniel: No, no, no. No, I'm gonna get them something, of course. And I want them to be very happy in their new house. I'm sure it's...you know, I'm sure it's beautiful.
Maggie: This must be so difficult for you.
Maggie: Oh, talking about Lucas and Chloe all the time, their wedding, their new house... how much they adore each other, working with her on the show. [Sighs] It's got to be torture, isn't it?
Nicole: Rafe, you were fired from the FBI, so people don't have to hand over information when you ask for it. Uh-- Uh-oh!
Rafe: You're right, you're right, okay, you're right. You're right, and I'm sorry. Okay? Now, would you please give me information about the teen center where you met Mia?
Nicole: Um... no. That was all confidential, and it's gonna stay that way.
Nicole: And why in the world are you on Mia's case like this anyway?
Rafe: I told you, because she used to babysit Grace--
Nicole: Used to babysit.
Nicole: Oh, my God... do you think what happened to Grace is Mia's fault?
Rafe: No! Of course I don't think that.
Nicole: Rafe, if you think Grace getting meningitis was something that--that Mia did, then you need to have a discussion with the doctor, okay? So thank you very much for the book and good-bye.
Rafe: All right, all right, all right, calm down. Enough about Mia, okay? I'm gonna tell you the real reason why I'm here.
Melanie: Now, Nathan, if you want to know my bra size, it's a little early in our relationship for that.
Nathan: You know, I actually never even thought of your bra size before.
Melanie: Well, that's insulting.
Nathan: [Laughs] Sorry. It just... so we'll make it my second question.
Melanie: Okay! All right, fine, what's your first?
Nathan: What kind of pills are you taking? The ones that I saw you with this morning that you were putting in your bag.
Melanie: You worried about me?
Nathan: Should I be?
Melanie: No. They're my friend's. She left them at the hospital, so I dropped them off.
Nathan: Good to know.
Melanie: Good to know I'm not on drugs? The sad thing is, my friend really needs them, and they are very powerful.
Melanie: No. You take them, and they send you into orbit so you don't care about anything else. The weird thing is, she lives with her fiancÚ, but she doesn't want him to know she's taking them.
Nathan: That's a bad idea.
Melanie: Do you think someone should tell him?
Lucas: What are you talking about, you don't make Stephanie happy? Come on, man, you treat that girl like royalty, for God's sakes.
Philip: Oh, that's the Owen thing. He kidnapped her, he threatened to kill her. She went through a lot, man. She almost died.
Lucas: She's having a hard time getting past that.
Philip: Well, wouldn't you?
Lucas: Well, yeah. Maybe she should see a specialist of some kind, you know, that post-traumatic stress syndrome, whatever it's called?
Philip: I suggested it, but she keeps telling me she's fine.
Lucas: Then she's pretending.
Philip: Yeah. Maybe. I just wish she'd open up to me, you know?
Lucas: I'd be patient. I mean, she loves you, you know? She'll come around.
Stephanie: Uh, thanks, Chloe, but I- I already have a therapist. She's just on a little vacation right now.
Chloe: Yeah, but you're not and neither are your problems. So this man I know, he is a really good listener, and he never judges. And when he finally does give you advice, it's pretty dead-on. He's amazing.
Stephanie: I could...use a little amazing right now.
Chloe: Yeah. Look at it this way. It couldn't hurt to talk to him.
Stephanie: Okay. What's his name? Maybe--maybe he can help.
Nurse: Mrs. Hubble won't take her meds.
Daniel: Surprise, surprise. You can straighten her out. Give her a little old-school medicine.
Nurse: Oh, I just told her that handsome doctor with the warm bedside manner would be in to talk to her. She calmed right down. [Chuckles] What in the world are you doing buying candy dishes online?
Daniel: A house-warming gift for some friends.
Nurse: Mm. They'll get a million candy dishes. Go with anything else.
Daniel: Yeah, but what? I got to take care of this, and it has to be...you know, something, uh...
Nurse: Mm-hmm...not too personal?
Nurse: You're not really close with either one of 'em, huh?
Daniel: Something like that.
Nurse: Well, in that case, I'd go with fruit. Nothing says impersonal like a big basket of apples.
Daniel: Oh, yes!
Nicole: Oh...I am almost afraid to ask, Rafe. How many ulterior motives did you have for coming over here?
Rafe: [Laughs] Uh, well... I need to talk to you about the custody hearing.
Nicole: Ah, right...yes, well. Eh! Blah. That's for the lawyers. And, uh, you already asked me to help you, remember, and the answer was no.
Rafe: Well, I know. I'm not asking you to interfere. It's just what you say about Sami in court... you said yourself--you told me that you feel really bad for Sami.
Nicole: I do. I do, but whatever I have to say about Sami, it-- there's a history there, okay, and it's long and very unpleasant.
Rafe: I understand that. Um... but, here's the thing. What you say about Sami in court... [Sydney babbling] That could make the difference between her getting joint custody of her son and never seeing her son again. What if someone were trying to do that to Sydney... take her away from you... never let you see her again? I know that you would do whatever you could to make sure that that did not happen.
Lucas: So what are we doing meeting here? I thought you'd be at home hanging pictures or something.
Chloe: Well, I decided to go to the Kiriakis mansion and get you something instead.
Lucas: You went to see Victor?
Chloe: He's in St. Louis. Relax. Here for you.
Lucas: What'd you do? What have I got? No way! I can't believe this! My dad gave this to me when I was visiting him in Africa.
Chloe: I know.
Lucas: This is amazing! I thought this was lost. I thought it was torched during the Kiriakis fire.
Chloe: Apparently not. Henderson found it for me, and he just cleaned it up a little.
Lucas: Look at this. Look at these pictures. My God! I cannot believe this! Look at that. You know what, Alice must have put this together. I can tell by the old notes and the old pictures. Oh, look at my dad in the '70s. Look out! That's amazing! You know, this album was my-- was my welcome to the family.
Chloe: Yeah, I just...I-I wanted to give it to you so that you could add new pictures to it of will or Allie or any new children that might come along.
Lucas: Chloe, wait a minute. Are you telling me--
Chloe: No! No, I'm not pregnant. But I just thought it'd be a nice gift...you know, for our new house. Family memories. Because you're such a wonderful father.
Lucas: I'm the luckiest man on planet earth. What did I do to deserve you?
Daniel: No, no, that's fine. Biggest fruit basket you got. Oh, and I want the card to say, uh..."many years of happiness... in your new home." Yeah. Oh, and can you deliver that today? Perfect. Oh, and if they're not home, just--just leave it on the doorstep. Great. Thank you.
Kate: Oh, Daniel... you're making this way too easy for me.
Philip: Yeah, thanks, Sagmore. I'll be in touch. Right. Bye.
Philip: Hey. How's it going?
Philip: Something on your mind?
Melanie: Okay. Philip, do you believe in coincidences?
Philip: Not really. No, why?
Melanie: I was just thinking about you. I have to talk to you about something.
Father Matt: Good morning. Ah, Stephanie, how are you, child?
Stephanie: I'm okay, how are you?
Father Matt: I'm very well, thank you. And your parents? I understand they're in Africa?
Stephanie: Yes, they are. They're working hard, but they're very happy.
Father Matt: Well, I haven't seen very much of you lately.
Stephanie: I, uh... listen, Father, I was--I was talking to Chloe Horton, and she said that I can come to you about something.
Father Matt: Any time. Am I to assume you need help?
Stephanie: Yes, I do. Desperately.
Nicole: You know what? I don't...want to talk to you about Sydney or some hypothetical situation that is never gonna happen. And I certainly don't feel comfortable discussing this custody battle between Sami and my husband. In fact, I don't really like you in this house. And E.J. is bound to come home any minute, so...for the last time, good-bye.
Rafe: Okay. Well, that's a beautiful little girl. Keep her safe.
Nicole: Mommy thought you were safe, Sydney. Until Rafe started asking too many questions, and if he finds out what I did... no. No, he can't. He won't. He won't.
