Peter: And eat it.
Daniel: Sounds easy enough.
Chloe: Yeah, but does he hand me the food, or point to it and I grab it or--
Kate: Oh, come on, come on, come on, let's just be spontaneous, okay? Do it, do it. Come on, it's not rocket science, right? Time is money, people.
Peter: All right, we set?
Chloe: Yeah, I guess. Yeah.
Daniel: No-brainer, huh?
Chloe: Yeah, sure.
Peter: And action!
Chloe: Hmm...looks yummy.
Kate: [Thinking] More yummy than you know. This is the beginning of the end, Chloe.
Nicole: I would do anything to bring you back, little Grace. Anything.
Nicole: Oh, um...
Nicole: Thanks. I--I should go.
Rafe: No, no, no. What are you doing here?
E.J.: Hey, how's my big boy? Oh, come here, bruiser. You're getting heavy. Oh, Samantha...
E.J.: Just shut the door on your way out, will you? Hey...
Sami: No, E.J. Not until we get a few things straight.
Nicole: Why am I here?
Rafe: Yeah. Why are you here?
Nicole: Because it was a terrible tragedy, and I'm paying my respects.
Rafe: Right. I mean, what you said before you knew that I was here.
Nicole: What I said?
Rafe: That you would do anything to bring Grace back.
Nicole: And I meant it. Gracie was a precious little girl. And she should have had a longer life, and it's not fair that she was cheated like this.
Rafe: Well, no, I agree. You're right.
Nicole: It breaks my heart.
Rafe: Yeah, I can see that. I'm just wondering why. Listen, not to be callous-- I mean, obviously you are a sensitive and emotional person. But honestly, you had no real connection to Grace.
Nicole: I have more of a connection than you realize.
E.J.: Again. High five. Down low. Uh...too slow. Try it again. Okay, here's what we're gonna do. Harold is gonna take you out to the sandbox. And then how 'bout you and I and Nicole go for some ice cream later? Would you like that? Yes, you like ice cream?
Sami: Hey, Johnny, come here, sweetheart. Mommy loves you so much, sweetheart. And I promise I'm gonna say good-bye, okay, before I leave. All right, go have fun. You don't care, do you? That this is hurting your son. Our son. That he is gonna suffer because you want revenge on me.
E.J.: Get out.
Sami: This is just a temporary injunction. Key word being "temporary." You are not gonna get away with this.
E.J.: Think so? Time will tell.
Sami: I'm gonna make sure that judge knows everything that you have done. Exactly what you are capable of. That you are a sociopath who is unfit to be a parent.
E.J.: I'm a sociopath? This from a woman who concocted a malicious story about an adopted baby. Who didn't have the courage or the decency to tell anybody, including that child's father, about her true parentage.
Sami: I did that to protect Grace. And now I'm gonna protect Johnny.
E.J.: You can leave.
Sami: There isn't a court in this state that would take him away from his mother. You know, when this is all said and done, you're probably gonna lose custody of Johnny entirely because of this cruel thing you are doing to me. And then it will be up to me to decide whether or not you get to see him.
E.J.: Oh, you think so, do you? Okay, well, you bring it on.
Stephanie: Yes, I'm fine, Abby, really. It's just been a rough couple of weeks. Listen, tell your parents I said hello. And you guys better get back down here for the wedding. Okay, I will. Bye.
Henderson: Miss Johnson?
Stephanie: I told you, it's Stephanie.
Henderson: Stephanie, this letter came for you.
Stephanie: Oh. It's from my mom.
Philip: Hey, I was thinking we could take your new ride out for a spin. What you reading?
Stephanie: It's a letter from my mom.
Stephanie: I can't believe I'm reading an actual letter.
Philip: Oh, 'cause you're so used to sending emails?
Stephanie: Right. They can't get online there, obviously. It's just been really hard. It's just, I used to be so spoiled. I mean, I was able to talk to my mom and pop anytime I wanted to. Phone, email, text, IM. Now we're writing letters.
Philip: Hmm. It must be hard for you.
Stephanie: Especially lately. Only because it was Joe's birthday a few weeks ago. I was just remembering his last party, and... I was looking at the pictures this morning. It's just--it's really hard.
Philip: I'm sorry. Anyway, you know, if you got the letter, I guess they got there okay, right?
Stephanie: Yeah. Yeah, they did. It's just...it's awful. My mom said that the clinic barely has enough beds and enough medicine and supplies that they need. It's really sad.
Philip: And all too common in third-world countries.
Stephanie: I just wish there was something we could do to help.
Philip: Maybe there is.
Daniel: What the hell?!
Chloe: Oh, my God. I'm so sorry.
Peter: We're going again.
Chloe: I'm really sorry, everyone. I'm sorry. I--I don't know what happened.
Peter: Your daughter-in-law... Martha Stewart she ain't.
Kate: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Peter. She's nervous and she's clumsy. I'll have a talk with her.
Kate: Well, that was a rough start.
Chloe: Kate, I'm really sorry. I'm so embarrassed. I don't know what happened. It just slipped.
Lucas: What is it? What happened?
Chloe: I'm a klutz, which is no news to you. First I break the bowl, and then this tray just slipped out of my hand. Kate, I told you I'm not cut out for this. The pressure's too much.
Kate: You know, Chloe, this isn't Meet the Press. All you have to do is ask a few questions, eat a little food, and not drop anything.
Chris: Ahem…‘solution man’ strikes again. [Giggles]
Kate: Where did you find those?
Chris: Maggie's fridge, which, by the way, is just filled to the very brim with noshes. She's a major ‘foodie,’ that lady. Anyway, are they gorgeous or what?
Kate: No, they won't work.
Rafe: So you had a connection to Grace?
Nicole: She...was my daughter's sister. And that may not be important to you, but that means a lot to me. Grace will always have a place in my heart.
Rafe: Okay, I understand now.
Nicole: And I'm just sad that my daughter will never get to know her sister.
Rafe: Very sad. But if I were you I would focus on the fact that you still have your daughter. No, really, it's things like this that--well, that make us realize how fragile life is.
Nicole: Yes, it does. And I am grateful for every moment I have with Sydney. But that doesn't change how sorry I feel for Grace... or for Sami.
E.J.: Oh, you've actually convinced yourself you have a chance, haven't you?
Sami: I am his mother.
E.J.: What you are is irresponsible and duplicitous. You lied to everybody about Grace. Sami: Everybody. And then you give parental rights to some little bodyguard you shacked up with.
Sami: Rafe was a way better father to Grace than you ever will be!
E.J.: Get out.
Sami: And if Rafe wants to be Johnny's father, then he will be that too. And there's nothing you can do to stop me.
E.J.: Oh, yeah? I'll kill him before that happens.
Stephanie: You're kidding.
Philip: My accountant's gonna contact your mom's medical team, and we're gonna send over as much aid as they need.
Philip: It might take a week or two, but it'll--
Stephanie: Mmm, you are amazing.
Philip: It's no big deal.
Stephanie: Yes, it is. It's a huge deal. You have no idea how much this means to me and how much it's gonna mean to my mom. Not to mention the people she's been trying to help. This is so generous.
Philip: What good is money in a bank account if you don't spend it, right?
Stephanie: Philip Kiriakis, you are the kindest, most loving, sweetest... how am I gonna repay you?
Philip: I can think of a way.
Sami: You know, I always knew you were arrogant and selfish and narcissistic, but I can't believe you're actually turning out to be a homicidal maniac who not only tried to have Philip killed twice-- you had the mayor killed-- what you did to Stephanie-- and now you're actually threatening Rafe to my face?
E.J.: There is no way--none-- that that man is gonna raise my son. You hear me?
Sami: You think I want to let Johnny be raised by you and your slutty wife? You think I want my children corrupted by your influence? Why do you think I did everything I could to protect Grace from you?
E.J.: It doesn't really matter, does it? 'Cause after I win in court, you're not gonna have any say in Johnny's life anymore.
Sami: You can't do that.
E.J.: Oh, I can do it, Samantha. He's gonna be raised as a DiMera. Your son, you're not even gonna recognize him.
Sami: And you would choose to do that to your own child just to get back at me? How can you live with yourself?
E.J.: It hurts, doesn't it? Being cut out.
Rafe: It's good that you still have concern for Sami. I mean that.
Nicole: Yeah, well, despite the rumors on the street, I am human. And I think that Sami and I have come to an understanding.
Rafe: You have, huh?
Nicole: I don't think we'll ever be friends... [Chuckles] but...there are some good things about getting older.
Rafe: I know.
Nicole: You realize that being petty and vindictive is a huge waste of energy. Life is too short.
Rafe: Yeah. That's for sure.
Nicole: And I know that everyone always says that Sami is a great mother. And I know she is. I know that because Johnny is so well-adjusted.
Rafe: Oh, he's a great kid.
Nicole: He's really gonna miss his sister Grace.
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah, he always got a... real kick out of her.
Nicole: No parent should ever have to bury a child.
Nicole: And this thing with Johnny... poor Sami. I mean, it must be killing her. She must be in hell.
Sami: I will not be cut out of my son's life. Do you hear me?
E.J.: Let me explain something to you. What you did-- keeping me from my daughter-- was not just unconscionable, Samantha, it's criminal. You understand? It's tantamount to kidnapping.
Sami: I did what I had to do for grace. I saw a man get murdered on your doorstep, for God's sake!
E.J.: Oh, God, well, there's an excuse!
Sami: And if I had to do it all over again, I would still make the same decision because I will do whatever it takes to protect my children from you and your disgusting family!
E.J.: Well, that's all moot now, isn't it? Because you don't have a say anymore in my life or our son's life.
Kate: [Sighs] Would you do me a favor? Would you do me a favor and get everyone ready for a retake?
Lucas: Yes, I will. If you let me handle things, just relax a little, and chill.
Kate: Okay, great. I'm chill.
Lucas: No, you're not.
Lucas: All right.
Kate: If I let you handle things, you'd be stuck with that lowlife tramp the rest of your life. [Sighs] But fortunately, for you and for me, that's not going to be your fate.
[Knock on door]
Daniel: Yeah, yeah.
Chris: Hi, hi. I got your new shirt.
Daniel: Great. Thank you, thank you.
Chris: Yes. Oh, hello. How are you? You look fabulous.
Chloe: Thanks. Is Daniel ready?
Chris: He's still getting dressed. You know, you two make quite the onscreen couple. Like Brad and Angelina in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. You know, just oozing chemistry.
Chloe: Daniel, it's me.
Daniel: It's open.
Chloe: Hey, um, I just wanted to apologize for wasting all this time. I just-- I don't know what got into me.
Daniel: Yes, you do.
Rafe: Well, since you seem to be so sympathetic to Sami's situation, I'm wondering if maybe you'd be willing to talk to E.J.... about the injunction.
Nicole: [Sighs] Rafe, I wish I could, but--
Nicole: I should go.
Rafe: Hey, Nicole, think about it, will you?
Arianna: What was that about?
Rafe: I don't exactly know.
Sami: You are never gonna take my son away from me! Do you hear me?
E.J.: Will you just keep your voice down, please?! Quiet!
Sami: You think I care if anyone hears what a disgusting pig you are?
E.J.: Okay, enough, all right? Time to go home. Take some kind of-- put some pills in your mouth. Go home!
Sami: I am gonna make sure that the judge knows what you are capable of. Do you hear me? They're not gonna take my son from me.
E.J.: You don't think so? You're wrong, you know that?
Sami: What's your plan, blackmail or bribery?
E.J.: Samantha, let me explain something to you. I don't need to bribe anybody. Because what you did... to anybody's eyes... is completely reprehensible.
Sami: Do you remember when I got out of the witness protection program? I came here. And you told me that Johnny wouldn't go to sleep unless he had kissed my picture good night. Every night. Do you remember that?
E.J.: I do.
Sami: Do you remember us sitting right there... and you being kind to me... about him, and about what had happened? And telling me that my children would never forget me because I'm a good mother?
E.J.: What, exactly, is your point, Samantha?
Sami: My point is that I know that you are capable of compassion. I know you are. So can't you find a way to understand me when I tell you that I was not doing it to hurt you? I was doing it to protect Grace. That was the only thing that mattered to me. And you can't find a way to forgive that?
E.J.: Samantha, what you did... was unforgivable. Any feelings that I may have had for you are gone forever. So you see, these little manipulations of yours... they don't work. Not anymore. I don't feel anything for you. I don't feel anything at all except a strong desire to... protect my family.
Sami: By "protect" you mean ripping your son from his mother's arms.
E.J.: If that's what it takes.
Philip: That's pretty good payback. With interest.
Stephanie: I love you so much.
Philip: I love you too. It's good to see you smiling again.
Stephanie: You know who's gonna be smiling is my mom. I'd give anything to see the look on her face when she finds out what you've done.
Philip: Maybe we can arrange that.
Philip: Why don't we tell her in person? We can take a few days off, and you can see your mom and dad and little Joe.
Stephanie: Are you serious?
Philip: Yeah. Be nice to get away from Salem for a few days, and I think you should spend some time with your family.
Stephanie: Philip, you've already done so much. I can't ask you to do this too.
Philip: You didn't ask me. I offered. All I gotta do is call my guy at the state department, make sure the jet's free, and we'll pack our bags. Sound like a plan?
Stephanie: You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you so much.
Philip: I'm gonna go call my guy at the state department. Make sure we're cleared.
Stephanie: I can't believe this. When do you think we can go?
Philip: As soon as we're cleared for travel. And you know, I may even get a little karmic kickback out of this deal.
Stephanie: Karmic kickback?
Philip: God knows I can use a little bit of that right now. You know, after everything that happened with the DiMeras. What I mean is, you know, we could use our money for good. Maybe that'll offset the other things.
Arianna: If you want to be alone--
Rafe: No, no, no. Glad you're here. I think about all the times I went to the convent to see her. And I'd pick her up. She'd smile that great little smile of hers. It was like I was the only person in the world. And sometimes she-- she would look at me like she knew that I was gonna be there for her...to protect her. I couldn't.
Arianna: Nobody could, Rafe.
Rafe: [Sighs] No. No. But I can be there for Sami. And I will. I'm gonna make sure that she gets through this. I figure the best way to honor Grace's memory is to-- is to help Sami.
Sami: And how this affects Johnny doesn't bother you in the slightest?
E.J.: My children are my priority, Samantha, you know that.
Sami: So what's your plan for when he misses me? When he cries out in the night asking for his mommy. Are you gonna show him a picture of me? Let him kiss it good night?
E.J.: Perhaps. At first.
Sami: So you think you can just make me a distant memory, huh? Make him forget about me? Even you are not so heartless as to believe that that will actually ever happen.
E.J.: There he is! How you doing? Oooooohhh! How you doing, big fella? You have fun in the sandbox? Okay, I think you look a bit tired. Maybe you could have a nap upstairs.
Harold: I can take him up, sir.
E.J.: That would be wonderful.
E.J.: Hey, why don't you go and say good-bye to your mommy. She's going soon.
Johnny: Bye, Mama.
Sami: Hi, sweetheart. I'm gonna miss you so much. And you know what-- hey, come here. Look at me. I am gonna see you really, really soon, okay? I promise.
E.J.: Okay, time to go to sleep. Come on.
Johnny: I want to play for a little.
E.J.: Oh, no. We can play for a little bit after you've had a nap.
Johnny: All right.
Harold: Come along now, mister.
Sami: Okay, see you in a bit.
Sami: I am gonna see him... sooner than you think.
E.J.: Well, whatever you have to say to get yourself through the day, I suppose.
Nicole: I, uh-- I guess that didn't go so well.
E.J.: On the contrary. That went exactly as I thought it would.
Daniel: It's obvious what happened, Chloe. You're nervous.
Chloe: Well, yeah, I've never done a TV show before--
Daniel: No, no, not just about the TV show. You were nervous about us.
Chloe: Of course I am.
Daniel: You don't think we can be together without something happening, do you?
Chloe: No, I don't.
Kate: Thank you. Okay, Showtime.
Nicole: What happened with Sami?
E.J.: Oh, she cried, she called me names, she made a scene. The usual stuff.
Nicole: And how did Johnny take all this?
E.J.: Uh, well, I mean, he wasn't here for the fireworks, obviously. He was outside playing. But I would say that he seemed completely unfazed.
Nicole: Till he finds out he never gets to see his mommy again.
E.J.: He's got me, he's got you, he's got Sydney.
Nicole: No, no, no, this is cruel. This is cruel.
E.J.: I beg your pardon?
Nicole: What you're doing. It's horribly cruel.
E.J.: What I am doing is horribly cruel? I'm doing nothing different than what that-- what Samantha did to me! In fact, there is something different. I'll tell you what's different. I'm doing it legally. And your tune's changed.
Nicole: The one person who's gonna get hurt the most here is your son. Don't you see that? Don't you see that you are punishing Johnny for Sami's mistake?
E.J.: Punishing him?! What-- punishing him?! I'm punishing him? Nicole, don't you see, sweetheart, I'm protecting him. Look, this is the best thing for him.
Nicole: E.J.... even though I hate what Sami did to you, I believe that you need to forgive her. If not for yourself, then for Johnny.
Philip: [Clears throat]
Stephanie: Uh-oh. What'd your guy at the state department say?
Philip: We can send the aid, but--
Stephanie: We can't go.
Philip: Yeah. I'm so sorry to get your hopes up, Steph. It's just I don't think we can get the visas in time.
Stephanie: It's okay. It would have been great to see my mom and dad and Joe, but they're getting the supplies. That's what's important.
Philip: Well, I'm gonna keep trying, okay? I'm gonna try to pull some strings.
Henderson: I'm sorry sir, I tried to--
Philip: It's--it's okay, Henderson. It's okay.
Stephanie: Sami, what's wrong?
Sami: I need your help, okay? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to barge in, but this is an emergency.
Stephanie: Emergency? What--what's going on?
Sami: I need your help. Both of you. I want to destroy E.J. DiMera once and for all.
Daniel: Chloe, I think you know that I'm not exactly thrilled to be here either. But you also know that Kate... well, she is donating an extremely generous check to help fight breast cancer. And she is doing it in Rebecca's memory.
Chloe: Your wife?
Daniel: Yeah. And this is just my way of honoring her life. Now, we...well, we're honoring your life too. Because you are a cancer survivor. Right? And in a way-- in a way, uh, I guess we've come full circle.
Chloe: Yeah, I guess we have.
Daniel: So maybe this is fate.
Chloe: Maybe it is.
Chris: Ooh, fantastic. I love how you sorta made 'em shine.
I don't know what you're talking about. Are Chloe and Daniel out there? Uh, not yet. Chris: Daniel is upstairs in one of Mrs. Horton's guest rooms.
Chris: She is with him. Probably rehearsing or something. Maybe working on their chemistry. I think they got that part nailed. [Chuckles] You want me to go get 'em?
No, no, I'll do that. Um, make sure no one touches these. It's really, really important.
Chris: I will guard them with my life.
Chris: [Giggles] Are you ready for your close-up, you little devils? [Chuckles]
Nicole: He knows.
E.J.: Excuse me?
Nicole: Johnny. He senses that something is going on.
E.J.: You're imagining it.
Nicole: No, I'm not. I am not. He saw his penguin. He said he doesn't understand why it's here 'cause it's usually at his mommy's.
E.J.: Look, his mother was in a safe house for a long time. He didn't say a word.
Nicole: But that was only for three months. What you're talking about could be forever. Do you really want to do that to your son?
Sami: Please say that you will help me. I will find a way to pay you back. I will return the favor if you will just please help me take down E.J..
Stephanie: Shh, Sami, Sami, Sami, just try and calm down, okay?
Sami: I can't be calm after what he has done to me!
Philip: Okay, what has E.J. done?
Sami: He's taken Johnny from me.
Sami: He has taken my little boy. He's filed a temporary injunction. I'm not even allowed to see him.
Philip: Sami, look, I know this is very upsetting, but it's just scare tactics.
Stephanie: Look, Philip's right. There's no way any judge would ever give E.J. full custody.
Sami: You don't understand. I have been down this road before. I am the one who lied to E.J. about his daughter. I kept him from her. And now sh-- and now sh-- he's gonna twist it. He's gonna make me out to be the monster.
Stephanie: No one's gonna believe that, Sami. Okay, the judge will understand that you had to protect your little girl, that you had to lie.
Sami: She's gone. She's gone and I'm always gonna miss her. But I cannot let my other children suffer for it. I have to find a way to protect Johnny. And-- and I don't think I can live without my little boy.
Stephanie: I'm so sorry.
Sami: And that is why I need your help. I am asking you both to help me because I have to bury E.J. DiMera once and for all, and I cannot do it alone. I need you both to help me.
Rafe: I'm so sorry.
Chris: Yes, yeah, I'll be right there. Oh, my goodness.
Lucas: What--what is it? What's wrong now?
Chris: Um, I have to step out for just a bit. Could you do me a favor and make sure no one eats any of these delectable little goodies?
Lucas: Yeah, I can do that. Where's my mom? Where's she right now?
Chris: Uh, she went upstairs.
Lucas: Come on, mom, let's get this show on the road. Let's wrap this present. [Sighs]
Chloe: Oh--oh, you missed one.
Chloe: Um, well, I guess we should get down there.
Daniel: Chloe... about what I said earlier. You and me, fate-- I didn't--
Chloe: I--I understood what you meant--it's okay.
Daniel: I hope so, 'cause I-- I respect what you're doing, fighting for something you believe in. Your--your marriage. Hang on. Your, um... your zipper.
Chloe: Oh. Oh, I thought...
Daniel: I just...
Lucas: Come on, mom, we're burning daylight here. I'm starving. I haven't even had my lunch yet. Maggie's got to have something in here. [Exhales] No, not too many choices there. Well, you know what, I am the producer. They're not gonna miss just one of these deviled eggs. [Sighs]
E.J.: Look, you let me worry about Johnny. All right? I'm gonna have a talk with him.
Nicole: A talk with him. How are you gonna explain to a two-year-old that he never gets to see his mommy again?
E.J.: I will handle it.
Nicole: Really? Do you really think that Johnny's simply gonna forget about Sami? You might think that you can manipulate this to your advantage, but even with that injunction, Sami Brady is not going to give up.
E.J.: How many times do I have to explain this to you, Nicole? Samantha Brady does not have a say in any of this.
Nicole: Really? Are you sure about that?
E.J.: Yes, I'm sure. I'm also sure it's none of your business.
Nicole: It's none of my business? Really?
E.J.: I'm going to go and check on my son.
Nicole: I live here too, E.J.. I'm just supposed to see this little boy suffering, missing his mother? How is this none of my business?!
Nicole: E.J.: Listen, don't undermine me. All right? Okay? Don't do that.
E.J., I'm just trying to get you to open your eyes. Underestimate Sami Brady at your own risk. You, of all people, should know that! E.J.!
Sami: So will you do it? Will you help me?
Philip: Sami, no one would like to see E.J. behind bars more than we would. But what are we supposed to do? It's not like we have evidence against the guy.
Sami: He's behind what happened to Stephanie. It wasn't that Owen guy's idea to put her in that morgue. It was E.J.'s. So come on, just-- just call the police. Tell them what happened to you. Tell them that it was E.J.'s fault. Expose him for that lying criminal that he is. I lost my daughter. Please don't let me lose another child.
Kate: Lucas was right. The eggs were poisoned.
Will: I think Johnny's better off with them than with my mom.
Nicole: I think that you are underestimating what Sami is capable of doing now.
Sami: I'll push until she breaks because this is my son we're talking about, and I'm not giving up.
