Rafe: Wow.

Sami: Oh, I know. I wish we could spend the whole day right here.

Rafe: I'm game if you are.

Sami: Oh, yeah?

Rafe: Yeah.

Sami: Sounds good to me.

Rafe: Did you say you're ticklish?

[Cellphone ringing]

Sami: [Laughing] Stop! Don't tickle!

[Ringing continues]

Rafe: [Inhales, exhales deeply] I knew it was too good to be true. Hello?

Sami: Morning. Did I wake you up?

Rafe: No. Good morning.

Sami: Uh, I know it's early, but I was thinking about you.

Rafe: That's funny. I was actually thinking about you, too.

Nicole: Look, Mr. Hotshot attorney, if you don't have my husband out of that prison cell within the hour, I will make sure that your sweet DiMera retainer blows up in your face, okay? Great. So get going. I have another call.

[Beep] Hello? What? No. Uh, let him in.

[Beep] Hey, sweetheart. Mommy's got a visitor. I'll be right back, okay? Mwah! So cute. What are you doing here?

Brady: I want to know where the hell you have Stephanie.

Caroline: Is this true? Is it?!

Victor: Caroline, calm down.

Caroline: "Calm down"? The front page has a story about a fight on the pier. Oh, what a surprise. E.J.'S been arrested, and the police are looking for your son -- Philip.

Victor: Let's go in and sit down.

Caroline: And they also found Stefano in a van, guarded by your men. How could you do that?! How could you?!

Victor: Caroline, he tried to kill my son -- twice!

Caroline: You promised that Stephanie would be safe. Do you think waging war with the DiMeras is gonna keep her safe?!

Victor: I told you -- I won't let anything happen to her.

Caroline: And you never lie. Where is she? I want to talk to her now.

Philip: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Don't do that.

Melanie: I'm sorry. Am I not showing proper respect to Winifred Godchock? Oh, my God. She's the mother of three boy scouts. That's what they put on her tombstone? That was her accomplishment?

Philip: Knock it off.

Melanie: I'm sorry. I'm nervous. I get a little mean when I'm nervous.

Philip: If the people in the funeral home see us -- we need to be respectful. We need to look respectful.

Melanie: You mean I need to look respectful.

You shouldn't be here because your picture is in the newspaper.

Philip: Shh! Hey. Look at that guy. Is that Owen's father?

Melanie: I don't know. It looks like the picture I found of him.

Philip: I think that's him.

Melanie: Okay. Well [Clears throat] It's showtime.

Stephanie: Who's looking for us? Philip? The police?

Owen: Don't talk.

Stephanie: Can I at least thank you for getting me these clothes?

Owen: I'm not an idiot. You act nice to me, then you try and run away again.

Stephanie: I'm not an idiot, either. I'm not gonna try to run away if I know you have a gun. But you know what? I don't think you'd shoot me. I think you're too good of a person. I don't think you'd do that. In fact, I don't think you'd shoot anyone.

Owen: If I had to, I would.

Announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Sami: You were, um, thinking about me?

Rafe: Yeah. I was thinking maybe I could, uh, go out, pick up some breakfast, and come over. We could hang out for a while?

Sami: I would love that, but I'm actually on my way out the door. I'm gonna go to the pub and see my grandma and, um, and tell her about you adopting grace.

Rafe: You want me to meet you there?

Sami: I don't know.

Rafe: All right. Your call. Just, uh, letting you know -- if you need me, I'm there for backup.

Sami: I think it's gonna be okay. And, you know, afterwards, we'll get together, and I'll -- and I'll tell you how it went.

Rafe: Yeah, that sounds great. I think it's gonna be a nice day out, and maybe we can take grace out.

Sami: Great. I --

Rafe: Oh, shoot. Sami, look, I got another call. I'll see you later.

Sami: Okay.

Rafe: Okay.

Sami: I love you. I love you.

Rafe: Hernandez. Yeah. Sure, I'm still interested. No. No, of course I know what I'm getting myself into. No. No second thoughts.

Melanie: Well, see ya.

Philip: Hey, wait.

Melanie: What?

Philip: I just -- I don't like you doing this alone.

Melanie: Oh, Philip, we've been over this. You're wanted by the cops. You need to lay low. Owen worked for your family. His dad probably knows what you look like.

Philip: Yeah, but Owen's in there. What if he sees you?

Melanie: Well, you know, I'll cross that bridge when I get there, or I'll find him. Either way, we got to do this if we want to find Stephanie.

Philip: You'll be careful?

Melanie: Are you worried about me?

Philip: I-I just don't want anything to happen to you. Look what they did to Stephanie.

Melanie: Yeah. Right. I-I mean [Chuckles] You're making yourself out to be this bad-luck kid. What you need is someone who can cry on cue and lie. So me.

Philip: [Chuckles] Thank you. I appreciate it.

Melanie: Yeah, well, I'm doing this for me.

Philip: Excuse me?

Melanie: Oh, yeah. You should -- you should see Stephanie's face when she realizes she owes me. It'll kill her.

Philip: Huh. Bad choice of words.

Sami: Yes. I've got you all strapped up, and we are gonna go see grandma.

Will: Morning.

Sami: Hey. Oh, hey. Good morning. I, um, I left you a note, but, um, grace and I are going to visit grandma.

Will: Cool.

Sami: So, I left oatmeal. There's some fruit in the fridge if you get hungry.

Will: I was just gonna grab breakfast at java café, so could I get like 10 bucks?

Sami: $10 for breakfast at java?

Will: Never mind.

Sami: No, I, um, just think that sounds like a lot for one person, unless -- unless there are two.

Will: I don't know.

Sami: Are you meeting Mia for breakfast?

Will: I said, "I don't know."

Sami: Well, just in case, I guess you -- you should have sufficient funds, right?

Will: Thanks.

Sami: No problem. And if you do happen to run into Mia, please let her know that I look forward to taking her up on her offer for babysitting.

Will: Thanks.

Sami: Mm-hmm.

Will: See you later. Bye, grace.

Sami: Hey, will... I like your cologne.

[Door closes] Gracie, I think your big brother has a crush. I think he does. Yeah. All right. Let's get you all ready to go. All right? Let's get you ready. We're gonna go see grandma. It's a big day.

Victor: I'm afraid you can't see her. She's not here.

Caroline: What the hell is going on?

Victor: I-I just didn't think it was safe enough, even here. Caroline, believe me, nothing is more important to me or to Philip than keeping her safe.

Caroline: Yes, yes, and you never lie. Where is she? Can I call her?

Victor: Until this whole thing is resolved, it's probably just as well that you don't know where she is. I'm sorry.

Caroline: No, you're not. It took me too long to figure you out, but I did. And Stephanie will figure you out, too, and your son -- Philip -- and I'm gonna do everything I can to help her do that.

Nicole: Brady, you look mad.

Brady: Where is she?

Nicole: I'm pretty sure I don't know.

Brady: If you don't know, then E.J. Does.

Nicole: That is so Kiriakis. "Something's wrong, and it's the DiMeras' fault."

Brady: Nicole, can it. I don't have time for your crap right now.

Nicole: Shh!

Brady: Stephanie is missing. We don't even know if she's alive or not. That makes me mad. That makes me ready to do anything...

[Sydney fussing] ...To get her back.

Owen: Dad, quiet, please.

What is it, son? What's wrong? You sounded so shaken up on your phone message.

Owen: I know. I know. I'm sorry, dad. I know you were planning to go away this weekend, but --

Don't worry about it. If you need me, I'm not going anywhere.

Owen: [Sighing] Oh, dad.

But I think you better tell me what's going on.

Owen: I got involved in something, dad. I-I need a favor.

Owen: I just need to lay low for a little while. If I could just hang out here for a little while, and if anyone comes around asking --

[Knock on door] I'm not here. You haven't seen me.

Melanie: Hello? Is someone there?

Yes? May I help you?

Melanie: Uh, I hope so.

Stephanie: [Grunting] Help! Open it up! I'm in here! Open it --

[Breathing heavily]

Caroline: Oh, I'm -- I'm sorry I'm late. I'm sorry.

Sami: Oh, hey.

Caroline: Well... what is it?

Sami: Grandma, what's wrong?

Caroline: Nothing. Nothing. Why do you say that?

Sami: Well, normally you spend five minutes cooing over grace before I can get a word in edgewise, and -- and your mouth is making that straight line that still terrifies me.

Caroline: Oh. Well, I talked with victor.

Sami: That'll do it.

Caroline: Such arrogance, you know? Such gall.

Sami: Grandma, what happened?

Caroline: [Exhales deeply] You know, Samantha, sometimes I wish I had never told Bo that victor was his father.

Sami: You really mean that?

Caroline: Well, he's not a father. He's a tyrant. I don't want to talk about that.

Sami: Well, you seem really upset.

Caroline: Well, I'll get over it. [Chuckles] I always do. So, uh, what was this news that you couldn't tell me over the phone?

Sami: Oh. Oh, well, actually, it's, um, it's good news.

Caroline: Oh, well, that's a change. [Both chuckle]

Sami: Yeah. Rafe is gonna adopt grace.

Caroline: You can't be serious.

Will: There you go.

Mia: Thank you. I don't know if I should be letting you cover for me. I mean, I'm the one who totally spaced in class. Maybe I should just face the consequences.

Will: What's the big deal? It's -- it's not like I gave you the answers. It's not cheating.

Mia: Yeah, but, will... I don't do anything for you.

Will: Well, what are you talking about? You came to my game.

Mia: Half of it.

Will: Well, yeah. I saw you leave.

Mia: My cousin called. I had to go home.

Will: It's too bad. You should have stayed the rest of the game. After you left, I scored 17 runs and executed two double plays.

Mia: [Snorts] Okay. Whatever.

Will: No. Really, I'm -- I'm that good. Seriously, next time, stay the whole game. You'll see. I excel in later innings. From the seventh inning on, I swear to God, I'm like Derek Jeter.

Mia: Okay... on one condition.

Will: What?

Mia: After, I buy the pizza.

Will: You're on.

Nicole: Are you threatening me?

Brady: Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. Wait. Did I cross a line? Your husband has kidnapped a girl that never did a thing to him. Your new family has tried to kill a guy that's like my brother -- twice now. Yet I'm threatening because I'm reminding you that I have enough ammo to blow you and your little sweet family out of the water?

Nicole: Could you keep your voice down?

Brady: Stephanie is missing. She's scared, she's alone, and she's probably with a DiMera thug, and we all know that they aren't exactly known for their decency, Nicole.

Nicole: Brady. I understand that you're upset, but E.J. Did not do that.

Brady: [Scoffs] There's -- wow. There's another word for that. That's a lie, right?

Nicole: Why are you being like this?

Brady: Because Stephanie's missing. She's gone. And you're my best shot at finding out where she is.

Nicole: I don't know where she is.

Brady: Then we're gonna have a long chat about how you are gonna find out.

Philip: What?

Victor: Where the hell are you?

Philip: Do you remember what you always say about phone conversations?

Victor: Don't get smart with me.

Philip: "Smart" is remembering that these phone lines could be tapped.

Victor: Just tell me you're safe.

Philip: Yeah, for the time being. How about you?

Victor: [Sighs] Bo can't prove anything, and DiMera's still too sick to talk.

Philip: I'll send flowers.

Victor: Listen, uh, Philip, maybe now might be a good time for you to take a little trip, see the world.

Philip: Sorry, father. I cannot do that -- not until I find Stephanie.

Melanie: And then [Sniffles] The doctor said, "your Grammy doesn't have a lot of time." She was very old-fashioned, and for as long as I could remember, she talked about her funeral and how she wanted -- I --

It's okay. It's okay. Take your time.

Melanie: I know. I just -- I-I wanted to -- I'm doing this for her, you know, so we could say [Sniffles] So we could say goodbye. [Exhales sharply]

She's a remarkable woman, I can tell. She has a remarkable granddaughter.

Melanie: Oh. Thank you. We were very close. I just -- I'm doing this for her, you know? Her family was so important to her.

And she's also a very wise woman.

Melanie: It sounds like family's very important to you, too.

Oh, it is. Family is everything.

Melanie: [Inhales, exhales deeply] I think this might be the right place.

You know, I really think it could be.

Melanie: It just feels like home.

Melanie: Is it a family business? Do you have kids, too?

Owen: Why do you have to keep making it harder on yourself, Stephanie? Now I'm gonna have to tie you tighter, and I was trying not to bruise your wrists.

Stephanie: You're worried about bruising my wrists, yet you'll put me in a drawer where I can't breathe?

Owen: I'm sorry!

Stephanie: Owen, put me back in there and I'm gonna die. I'm begging you -- please.

Sami: Wow, grandma. That isn't exactly the reaction I was hoping for.

Caroline: How did your mother react? You didn't tell her, did you? Or your father?

Sami: No.

Caroline: [Sighs] So I'm the test balloon. So if it flies with me, then maybe you'll face the big guns, huh?

Sami: Grandma, I think you're in a terrible mood and that you're just taking it out on me.

Caroline: I'm trying to get you to wake up and smell the coffee. You're gonna give parental rights to a man you barely know, who doesn't anything about being a father, and whom, I hear, has no visible means of support.

Rafe: Actually, the last one -- it -- it's not true. I just got a job.

Nicole: Brady... focus, okay? If -- if E.J. Did this thing --

Brady: No. We've already established that he has.

Nicole: He would never talk to me about it, and there's nothing I can do to change that.

Brady: Yeah. Yeah, right.

Nicole: So hurting me, hurting Sydney -- it's not going to accomplish anything, and it's certainly not gonna help Stephanie.

Brady: So you're just -- you're just an innocent bystander, right?

Nicole: She is.

Brady: So was Stephanie. If E.J. Needed a bargaining chip, he could have chose me, he could have chose victor. But, no, he chose -- he chose a scared young woman who had already been traumatized by watching your family's paid assassin pump a bunch of bullets into her boyfriend's chest. That's who you chose to be your little girl's father. You happy about that?

Nicole: I don't know where Stephanie is. There is nothing I can do to help you. The only thing I can do is beg that you stand by my side, Brady, like you have with everything else. Please!

Brady: Damn it, Nicole. Come on. [Exhales deeply]

Nicole: Thank you.

Brady: You know, I'm not the only one that you need to worry about here.

Nicole: What are you talking about?

Brady: Oh, not "what." "Who." Mia.

Will: So I'm pretty sure that'll be on the test. But that's okay. I-I like all that heredity stuff. You know, like, if a couple has a baby, you could figure out what color eyes the baby would have. I mean, what color eyes it wouldn't have.

Mia: Will --

Will: But, you know, there's more to it than that. Like I always tell my mom, she needs to get grace's medical files, because, I mean, adopted babies -- they have a right to their history, right?

Mia: I don't know.

[Cellphone ringing] Oh. Uh, I should probably get that. It's my cousin.

Will: All right. You -- you want more coffee?

Mia: No, thank you. Hey.

Will: Oh. Hey, Kinsey.

Kinsey: Will. What's up? You're still hanging with the druggie, huh? You two an item now?

Victor: Caroline was here this morning, looking for Stephanie.

Philip: She doesn't know?

Victor: No. I guess Bo decided to keep it a secret for now.

Philip: He has to keep quiet. Whoever has Steph can't know that we're -- that we're looking for him.

Victor: If he knew that...

Philip: He'd kill her... and run. And we can't let that happen, dad.

Owen: I'm trying to help you. Can't you understand that?

Stephanie: You put me back in there and I'll die.

Owen: All right. But just let me think. Let me just think.

I really don't think it's such a good idea.

Owen: Shh! Shh! Quiet. Quiet. You say one word -- one word -- and I will kill anyone who comes here to try to help you. Do you understand that?

Stephanie: [Shrieks]

Owen: Shh! Come on.

I'm afraid this might be very upsetting.

Melanie: Oh, oh, don't worry about it. I'm tough. Um, I know you think it's probably weird that I want to see it, but, you know, grandma said she wants the blouse turned inside out. It's weird to see the other side of the business, right?

Well, we have nothing to hide.

Melanie: You know, it's funny. In the small town where I grew up, we had two funeral homes and they were family based. Um, Dimoni and Sons. Don't you work with your son?

You and I have a lot to talk about. I'm not sure this is the place to do it, hmm?

Melanie: Yeah, no, that's fine. I just -- uh...

Melanie: I bet it's valuable. It's got to be, right? Stephanie's a pretty classy chick. She's probably freaking out, looking for it right now. But...

Melanie: It's -- it's cold in here, isn't it?

Owen: Stephanie, please. Please. Please.

Sami: That is so awesome. I'm so excited. That is great. So, when do you start?

Rafe: Right away.

Sami: See, grandma, daddy and uncle Bo would not let him join the force if he wasn't a great guy.

Caroline: Congratulations, Rafe.

Rafe: Uh, I'm not joining the force.

Sami: You're going back to the FBI?

Rafe: Uh, no. Construction job.

Sami: Construction?

Rafe: Yeah, but in a few months, I can take the crane operator's test and -- okay, I can see you're disappointed... just like your grandmother.

Brady: I ran into Mia at an A.A. Meeting.

Nicole: She's an addict?

Brady: No. Not that I would tell you if she really were. She's been telling people that she went to rehab to account for the time she was waiting to have the baby.

Nicole: Oh. Pretty plausible cover story.

Brady: There's nothing you like better than a good lie, right? Anyway, she, unlike you, Nicole, is tired of the lie. She doesn't want to keep stringing people along. There's one kid in particular -- a kid she really likes a lot.

Nicole: Mm. So, what, a teenage kid finds out she had a baby? Wow. That's not the end of the world.

Brady: The teenage kid is will. We all know that a boy's best friend is his mother.

Will: Yeah, you're right. I mean, who would want to hang out with a druggie when there's this really mean, skinny girl with a big zit on her forehead?

Kinsey: No. No, no, no, no, no, no.

Will: [Chuckles] Gotcha.

Kinsey: That was --

Will: What? Mean? Yeah. Well, maybe you'll think twice next time before you start dissing Mia. She had a problem. So what? She's dealing with it. And I think the way that she's honest about everything -- it's really cool.

Stephanie: Damn it, Philip, I love you! I want to marry you! Why isn't that enough?! Do you want me to lie and pretend like everything you do is perfect, like I am happy about everything that's going on right now?! Why would I do that when you know it's not true?

Philip: Well, then maybe you shouldn't marry me.

Stephanie: You're right. Maybe I shouldn't. Good night.

Owen: Shh!

What's wrong?

Melanie: Uh, it's cold in here.

[Knock on door]

Oh, excuse me, please, hmm?

You're early.

No traffic.

I'm afraid you're gonna have to go now. Respect.

Melanie: Oh, the delivery's a stiff?

We say, "the dearly departed."

Melanie: Yes, of course. My bad. It's cool, 'cause I'm done here.

Well, we can chat upstairs, then, can't we?

Melanie: Um, actually, I think I'm gonna go back to the hospital, but I'll talk to you later, so...

Owen: They're gone, Stephanie. They're all gone.

Caroline: You know, I'm not a snob. I-I don't look down on anybody's job, but, uh, if you want to be a cop, are you gonna be happy doing construction?

Rafe: Well, I have responsibilities now. I'm a family man.

Caroline: So I've heard. I've also heard that you've traveled all over the map and never settled down.

Sami: Grandma!

Caroline: He's not gonna change, you know, just like that. I don't know if either of you is being realistic.

Rafe: You know, I have a grandmother.

Caroline: Most people do.

Rafe: Yes. And she's very protective. And when my cousin introduced his fiancée to her -- it was not good. But then when my grandmother saw the way that she took care of him and then the way that she took care of the kids when they came -- don't get me wrong. It took some time, but when she saw the way that that woman took care of the family in the long run...they became friends. Nice story, right?

Caroline: Are you sure he isn't Irish?

Sami: [Chuckles] Well, he certainly knows how to sling a lot of blarney.

Rafe: [Chuckles]

Caroline: You hungry?

Rafe: Always.

Caroline: Sit down.

Sami: You have no idea what that means. If she's gonna feed you, it's a very good thing.

Brady: Okay, Melanie. This is like the ninth message I've left you, so if you'd like to call me back, I'd apprec--

Arianna: Hey, would you --

Brady: Sorry. What do you know?

Arianna: Ah, it's you. I probably shouldn't say that to you, should I?

Brady: You're referring to when you, uh, scalded me with hot coffee? I completely forgot about it. Really. Gone.

Arianna: Nine messages, huh? Just a guess, but I think she might be avoiding you.

Brady: You really do like to listen to other people's conversations, don't you?

Arianna: Ever notice when you give someone a cellphone, they, uh -- what's the word -- they -- bellow?

Brady: It's irritating, yeah, like uncoordinated coffee freaks. So, it's always good to see you. I'm always reminded to pay my insurance premiums, so thank you.

Arianna: Jerk.

Brady: I heard that.

Nicole: So, Mia likes will, huh? We'll see about that.

Mia: I have to tell you something. I heard you talking to Kinsey, didn't have to do that -- you know, stick up for me.

Will: Uh, I-I didn't. I just told the truth.

Mia: Maybe the truth is --

[Cellphone chirping] Sorry.

Nicole: You've got to stand up for me. No questions, no hesitations. Clear?

Mia: Well... yeah. Yeah. I guess.

Nicole: And, last... you can't ever come near me or anyone who's connected to me.

Mia: [Scoffs]

Nicole: What?

Mia: It's a lot of rules.

Nicole: Well, Mia, if you don't like those rules, then you can just leave Salem.

Will: Was that your cousin again?

Mia: Yeah, uh, I got to go.

Will: Uh, uh, okay. See ya.

Mia: Yeah. Uh, when I come to your next game...

Will: Yeah?

Mia: ...I'm turning off my phone. [Both chuckle]

Melanie: Stephanie -- whoa! I saw --

Philip: You saw her?

Melanie: No, I saw her earring in the room with the -- the bodies.

Philip: You're sure?

Melanie: Yeah. It matches the one I found at the -- at the mansion. Um, I-I think she's in the room at the -- at the mor--

Philip: The morgue?

Melanie: The morgue. Yes. Thank you.

Philip: What are you doing?

Melanie: What do you think? I'm gonna call the cops.

Philip: No, no, no. You can't do that. Unh-unh.

Mia: Want to know something? I don't like being told what to do. "Meet me here -- now."

Nicole: Well, I don't like finding out you're pretending you're an addict.

Mia: Oh, that guy Brady -- he told you?

Nicole: It doesn't matter how I found out, Mia. Do you realize how dangerous this is? People spilling their guts -- it's contagious, and you could end up saying something you shouldn't.

Mia: Meaning something you don't want me to say.

Nicole: All right. All right. Look. We're getting off on the wrong foot here. Do you remember how we agreed --

Mia: No. Actually, I don't remember that, but I do remember you telling me what to do.

Nicole: What's gotten into you?

Mia: Nicole, someone I like just told me I was honest, and I'm not. Everything I do and say is a lie.

Nicole: Would that someone be will Horton?

Mia: Oh, do you have me followed? Did you bug my backpack?

Nicole: Mia, look. You -- you can't trust him. Now, I'm sure with his father's genes, he must seem innocuous, harmless, but his mother --

Mia: Is nice. She's really nice -- just like will is.

Nicole: Mia, if you really believe that Sami Brady is nice, you're dumber than I thought.

Rafe: The way I figure it, I'm lucky to have a job, the way things are.

Sami: Yeah, but you liked being an agent.

Rafe: Yeah. Well... hey.

Arianna: Hey. There she is -- my future niece.

Sami: Oh, you know? I thought we weren't gonna tell anybody.

Arianna: I am his sister. I'm gonna be her future aunt.

Sami: I just didn't know that she knew.

Caroline: I didn't know you were Rafe's sister.

Arianna: You didn't know that?

Caroline: No. I didn't put the last names together, so -- well, you work at the Brady pub, sooner or later you become family.

Sami: That's right. One, big,

Rafe: You and Mrs. Brady should have a long conversation 'cause, you know, she's not too thrilled about me adopting grace, either.

Caroline: Well, I didn't say that, and don't call me "Mrs. Brady." You're worried, too?

Arianna: Uh, Rafe made it very clear that it was none of my business, so...

Caroline: Well, that concept doesn't really fly with me.

Sami: [Chuckles] Tell me about it.

Arianna: It's just a huge commitment, and it seemed a little impulsive.

Rafe: Whereas biological parents always think things out so carefully -- always such a rational, considered decision.

Caroline: You can tell they're siblings.

Arianna: It's just that things can go wrong, Rafe.

Rafe: I know.

Sami: You know what, Arianna? I've seen Rafe in action when things go wrong...and that's exactly why I said yes when he wanted to adopt grace.

Owen: Dad, listen. Um, I just want to say thank you for covering for me with that girl.

Don't you think you should tell me what's going on here?

Owen: No. No.

I'm worried about you, son.

Owen: It's all right. I've got it all under control... now. I promise.

Philip: Just because you found her earring in there doesn't mean that she's still there.

Melanie: Well, she was at some point.

Philip: Right. Right. But he could have taken her someplace else, okay? And even if the cops arrest him, he could clam up, and we'll never find her -- not alive.

Kinsey: So, your girlfriend took off. Was she getting a little jumpy?

Will: What is your problem? Why don't you just leave me alone?

Kinsey: No, I won't, because I've decided as obnoxious and, well, as mean as you were... that I don't want to see you get hurt. You need to know that these rehab things -- they never work. Like, okay, I had this friend --

Will: Wait. You had a friend?

Kinsey: [Sighs] She came back from rehab, and she still did drugs, and she stole from me. Will, it turns out I didn't know her at all. Do you really think you know Mia?

Will: Everything I need to know.

Mia: You know what? I like will's mother, and you cannot tell me how to feel.

Nicole: Mia, honey, you can't trust her. She's scheming and underhanded.

Mia: Man, you're one to talk.

Nicole: She schemes and lies to get my husband back and uses her children to do it. Everything I've done, I've done for Sydney.

Mia: Oh, so, what, now you're the only person who loves her kid? Will's mother loves grace so much that she's willing to let that guy -- the one who protected her -- adopt grace.

Nicole: What?

Mia: Yeah. She wants to make sure her daughter is always taken care of, and I think that makes her a really, really nice person.

Sami: So far, we're batting 1,000, huh? Everyone we tell about the adoption thinks it's a really bad idea.

Rafe: You know what? Just do not worry about Arianna, seriously. She's just looking out for my best interest.

Sami: I get it. She thinks I'm trying to tie you down.

Rafe: And your grandmother's worried that I can't take care of you.

Sami: She's wrong.

Rafe: Well, so is Arianna. I think the only one who's tying me down is this one.

Sami: It's just the three of us. We're the only ones who think this is a good decision.

Rafe: You think grace thinks it's a good decision?

Sami: Are you kidding? Of course she does. It's us against the world.

Rafe: You know what? We're gonna win.

Melanie: Uh, maybe the cops will give him immunity for telling them where Stephanie is.

Philip: And let him go free?

Melanie: Yeah. You know, they do it on TV all the time. Besides, your war isn't with Owen. It's with the DiMeras.

Philip: Melanie, if he's in this deep, the DiMeras will kill him if they know that he betrayed them.

Melanie: All right. So no matter what, he's not gonna talk to the cops. Then it's up to us.

Philip: We just need to get a closer look at that room.

Melanie: Well, I told him I'd be right back.

Philip: Do you really think they're gonna let you alone down there? Do you think I could break into the morgue?

Melanie: I don't think you have to break in. [Chuckling]

Philip: What, is this funny?

Melanie: This is not funny. It's like the old joke -- "people are dying to get in there."

Owen: Sorry. I hope this doesn't hurt.

Stephanie: If you were sorry, you'd let me go.

Owen: Well, I can't do that now -- now that your friend was here. Don't you see that I can't do that?

Stephanie: What friend? What are you talking about?

Owen: Oh, don't even try it. I recognized her voice. She was here to find you.

Stephanie: She's gone. She doesn't suspect anything.

Owen: Yeah, well, I'm gonna have to make sure of that now.

Mia: You know what, Nicole? You're gonna stay away from me or you're gonna be sorry.

Sami: Maybe this adoption isn't such a good idea.

Brady: What the hell are you two doing?

Stephanie: She's in love with Philip, and more than anything in the world, she wants me out of the way.
