Days of Our Lives Transcript Wednesday 5/13/09 - Canada; Thursday 5/14/09 - U.S.A.

Provided By Eric

E.J.: Is he up to it?

Stephanie: How was physical therapy?

Philip: It was good. It was encouraging, but I'm completely dehydrated. Do you mind?

Stephanie: Not at all.

Philip: How was your day?

Owen: Excuse me, sir, but those flowers are gonna fall. Oh, no!

Philip: Whoa!

Stephanie: Oh, my goodness.

Philip: Watch it, Owen.

Owen: I'm so sorry, sir. Forgive me. I-I-I didn't -- I didn't mean to do that. I'm so sorry. I-I'll take care of it.

Nicole: Yes, well, goodbye, and good luck to you, dr. Baker. Good riddance. Don't ever call me again. about that, sweet pea, huh? Mommy dodged yet another bullet. Oh, I am the luckiest person in the world.

Philip: Don't worry about it. Henderson will clean it up.

Stephanie: No, he's off for the night, remember? Plus, Owen worked so hard on these flowers.

[Cellphone ringing]

Owen: Let me, miss. I'll take care of it. Mr. Kiriakis, I don't know how I could be so clumsy. Here I am trying to prevent the flowers from falling.

Philip: Answer your damn phone, man. It's really loud.

Owen: Right, yes, of course, sir. I'm just so distracted by... hello?

E.J.: Thank you. What took you so long? I need to know what's going on.

Owen: Oh, yes. Hello, sir.

E.J.: Are we going ahead as planned -- yes or no?

Owen: Oh, roses, sir, they won't do very well without the right amount of watering.

E.J.: Okay, all right. There's people with you, right? You can't talk?

Owen: Oh, no.

E.J.: No? What are you saying, Owen -- yes or no?

Owen: Oh, no, sir. Sir, no, no, no. Sir...I think perhaps you might want to consider changing your order.

Announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Melanie: Oh, look at that. A manager doing his managerial duties.

Max: What up, sis? What, are you on your way to work?

Melanie: No, I've been there since the crack of dawn, something like that. Um, anyways, I'm gonna take a break, went for a little walk. Sick people can get kind of boring.

Max: Not to mention hard work.

Melanie: Well, I don't know. I could work here. Hang signs up with the best of them. I'm kidding. If I worked here, all you'd do is yell at me, not unlike what they do at the hospital.

Max: Huh.

Melanie: Doesn't seem very crowded, though.

Max: Yeah, it's kind of slowed down. It's typical, though, you know? Every day's kind of got its own rhythm. We get a little bump before closing and that's about it.

Melanie: It's sounds like you really know what you're doing here.

Max: I better. It's the family business, you know, and pop made this place and then he...didn't work after that. It's very special to me. You know, I think about him every day I work here.

Melanie: Yeah. Good old pop Brady. Took you in, gave you a wonderful life, unlike our father, professor scum sucker, who dropped you and decided to keep me. I'm sorry. I just get jealous sometimes.

Max: Mel... I really wish you were here with me when, you know, I was growing up.

Melanie: Me too. Um, forget it. You know [Clears throat] I'm gonna buy a sign, hang it in my room that says "thou shall not whine."

Max: I'm serious. I wish I knew you back then, you know.

Melanie: Well, I was a holy terror.

Max: Unlike now?

Melanie: [Laughs] Shut up.

Max: [Chuckles]

Melanie: Unlike Bo and hope's little girl. What's her name?

Max: Ciara.

Melanie: Yeah, she is so cute.

Max: Yeah, she's an angel. She's good. It's a good thing, too. I mean, Bo and hope have been having to leave her with ma lately. You know, they got their hands full with that whole war with the Kiriakises and the DiMeras.

Melanie: Tell me about it.

Max: Well, it's a good thing you're not mixed up with one of those families anymore. Melanie?

Melanie: Uh-huh?

Max: You're not mixed up in one of those families anymore, are you?

Melanie: Mm...

Hope: You-hoo.

Bo: Sorry. Some dinner date I am.

Hope: Let me guess -- Stefano and victor?

Bo: Oh, you got it.

Hope: It's been pretty quiet, though.

Bo: Yeah, for a whole week.

Hope: Bad sign, huh?

Bo: Tony died, and out of revenge, the DiMeras tried to kill Philip twice. Victor's gonna ramp things up. I know it.

Hope: Isn't there any way to stop him?

Bo: Not unless I know what's going down. And all I know is that something's gonna happen. Somebody's gonna get hurt or killed and soon.

E.J.: For God sake, Owen, what are you talking about changing my order? Is that what you said?

Owen: The flower you ordered may not be available, sir.

E.J.: What are you talking about? Spit it out.

Owen: Uh, sir, I'm sorry. I'm gonna have to call you back.

Philip: Was that a gardening emergency?

Owen: Yes, sir.

Philip: Does that happen a lot?

Owen: Oh, Mr. Kiriakis, you'd be surprised. When you least expect it, things can go so very, very wrong.

Nicole: Your daddy sounded a little irritated on the phone. What's wrong, sweetheart?

E.J.: Uh, nothing. Business. So, what is this great news you want to tell me?

Nicole: Well, dr. Baker left town for good.

E.J.: Uh, I'm sorry. Why is that -- why is that great news?

Nicole: Well, you already knew he wasn't gonna be any use to you. Oh, my God. Uh...who did that?

E.J.: I did.

Stefano: [Moans softly]

Victor: Your son hasn't called yet. It's interesting. You know, maybe he doesn't care about you as much as you thought he did. I mean, after all, with his beloved father out of the way, he ends up with all the power, say nothing about all the money, huh? [Chuckles] Oh, don't be silly, Stefano. You're as weak as a kitten. That's why we didn't bother to tie you. And you're getting weaker.

Max: Answer me, sis. You're not involved with one of the families, are you?

Melanie: Um, define "involved"?

Max: Melanie.

Melanie: Okay, all right, okay. Philip was at the hospital, and he stopped breathing for a second, so I gave him the breath of life.

Max: You gave him mouth-to-mouth.

Melanie: Yes, but, theoretically, I saved his life.

Max: Okay, that's fine. That's a hospital thing. Good for you. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the fuels project. I mean, you're not planning on, like, another scheme or, like, making another deal with that, are you?

Melanie: Max, calm down. Both families know I have nothing to sell them.

Max: Okay, so then you're not gonna see Philip or E.J. Any time soon, right? Melanie, I mean it. You need to steer clear.

Melanie: I know. You might want to tell that to your ex-girlfriend, though.

Max: She is not my business anymore, not to tell her what to do or anything like that. She's with Philip now.

Melanie: She wouldn't be if I hadn't screwed it up between you two.

Max: It's not your fault we broke up, all right? It just didn't work out. It wasn't meant to be.

Melanie: You're still worried about her, though. You might as well admit that.

Max: Anyone standing too close to Philip right now isn't in a good place.

Philip: Are you sure you don't want some juice or champagne?

Stephanie: Oh, no, I'm fine.

Philip: I don't know why I'm so thirsty.

Stephanie: It's probably 'cause of the pain medication. You should probably get some rest. You might be tired after physical therapy.

Philip: Hey, we're celebrating, remember?

Stephanie: We can celebrate when you're feeling better.

Philip: Hey, I'm fine. I'm on top of the world. I asked a woman to marry me and she said yes. Whoa.

Stephanie: Philip? Philip!

Nicole: E.J., I-I don't understand. I mean, why would you rip this open?

E.J.: For the information that was hidden inside it.

Nicole: Information?

E.J.: Yeah, I just hope I didn't find it too late.

Nicole: Well, what is it?

E.J.: Resources. Valuable resources in the fight against the Kiriakis family.

Nicole: That they don't know about?

E.J.: That they don't know about.

Nicole: That's terrific.

E.J.: Believe me, there has been a dramatic shift in the balance of power.

Nicole: Okay, so you'll sign everything over to victor and then we'll get your father home and you'll have enough power to go after them later.

E.J.: That's one possibility.

Nicole: I knew you'd never abandon your father.

E.J.: Of course not.

Nicole: It's who you are. It's in your DNA, and I think that's one of the reasons why I fell in love with you -- that sense of family. You know, family above all. Family at all costs.

E.J.: You're a DiMera now. Just like Sydney. We're loyalty, devotion.

Nicole: And love.

E.J.: And love.

Nicole: [Sighs] But you're still worried. If you do sign everything over to victor --

E.J.: Victor Kiriakis -- he's getting nothing, sweetheart. Nothing.

Nicole: But I-I-I thought --

E.J.: No, no, no, no, no. Let me tell you now -- it's gonna be a cold day in hell before that man touches any of my father's estate.

Nicole: How are you gonna get your father back?

E.J.: Because I have a plan, my dear. I have a plan.

E.J.: Go ahead.

Owen: Hello, Mr. DiMera. Hi. Uh, sorry about earlier. I was, um, with some people, and I couldn't speak freely. I can talk now.

E.J.: All right, give me an update. Is our plan on schedule?

Owen: Actually, no. There's was -- there was a slight problem, sir, with putting the drug into the drink and --

E.J.: No, stop right there. I need to have complete deniability. I cannot know any details. If the job is not finished, get it finished and call me when it's done, okay?

Owen: Y-yes, sir. You already tried to kill Philip twice. Maybe if I take him -- no, no, no, that's not the plan! Why did I agree to do this? Why didn't I just say no?! What the hell am I supposed to do now? What am I gonna do?

Stephanie: Here. Geez, Philip, you just got out of the hospital.

Philip: I just need some more coffee.

Stephanie: No, you need some more rest.

Philip: Coffee is my life. [Yawns] [Mumbles]

Stephanie: Philip. Philip, wake up. Philip. Oh, my God.

You're leaving several minutes on the early side, Melanie, as usual.

Melanie: Yeah, but I got here early, so, you know, it equals out.

All right, a patient left those behind.

Melanie: For me?

Just deliver them to the children's unit on your way out.

Melanie: Sure thing, boss. I'd love to. Flowers for the kids. How cute. "Get better soon." Look at that.

Stephanie: Help, somebody!

Philip: No. No, no. I'm fine. I'm fine.

Stephanie: Stay here. I'm gonna go call 911.

Philip: No. No, no, no, no. I'm fine. Don't even think about it. I'm fine.

Stephanie: No, you're not. Philip, you were just unconscious.

Philip: Steph, don't. I'm embarrassed enough as it is without making trouble, okay? I just need to calm down. Have some coffee.

Stephanie: Okay, I think -- I think you should see a doctor or something.

Philip: Look, I don't need a doctor. Come here. Come here. I just need to chill out. [Sighs]

Stephanie: Why are you being so stubborn about this?

Philip: Because I'm a man and you're a beautiful woman. It's the opportunity of a lifetime.

Victor: [Clears throat] I understand I've been summoned.

Bo: This is who you called?

Hope: Sorry. I should have told you. I just wasn't sure he'd show up.

Victor: When a lady calls, I always come.

Bo: Did he promise to listen and do as he's told or just show up?

Victor: He's right here, Bo. You can ask him yourself.

Bo: Yeah, well, that was rhetorical. I know the answer. How's Philip?

Victor: He's at home. He's doing nicely.

Bo: Good. his health. Long life safe from harm.

Victor: Well, we both think alike.

Bo: Yeah, except, um...I'm working within the limits of the law and you seem to think we're living in the dark ages.

Victor: [Chuckles] You know, Bo, it always amuses me when you start lecturing on the law. You've never been much of a stickler for it, if I remember correctly. Not in real life. You're a renegade, Bo, through and through. And in case you're wondering, you inherited that from me.

Hope: You know what I think? I think that, um, we all need to take a breath and start over, so how about we grab some menus and order dessert?

Bo: My job is to keep you from doing something that will put people's lives at risk. That's exactly what I'm gonna do.

Victor: Believe it or not, what I'm doing is going to save lives, Bo.

Bo: Yeah? And what is that?

Victor: It'll all come out in due time.

Bo: To hell with that. Tell me what you're planning.

Victor: You know I can't do that.

Bo: Then you leave me no choice. You're coming to the station with me.

Nicole: E.J., I-I know you don't want to tell me exactly what the whole plan is, but what about this? How did you know to look behind the portrait?

E.J.: I didn't know. I just remembered something that my father told me.

Nicole: What? To rip open his portrait?

E.J.: No. He just told me to think like a DiMera. And I did. I'm sure that all will be forgiven when he gets back.

Nicole: The sooner that phone rings, the sooner you'll have good news.

E.J.: Yeah. Or bad.

Nicole: No, not a chance.

E.J.: You know, I never thanked you for saying that you had the utmost faith in me.

Nicole: I do.

E.J.: Or for saying that Victor Kiriakis was not quite as invincible as I thought he was.

Nicole: No, he's not.

E.J.: If it wasn't for those words, I wouldn't have... remembered what my father told me when I looked inside that painting, I would have found what I needed to find.

Nicole: And now you come out a winner, and we will get Stefano home again. So there.

E.J.: Yeah, unless I gave the job to somebody not capable of it.

Nicole: Hey, hey, you know, people have a way of rising to the occasion. You know that. What's this? This is your father's ring. Why are you wearing it?

E.J.: Because I am his heir. I'm gonna do everything I can to protect him...and my family.

Philip: You like it, huh?

Stephanie: I love it. And I love you. It's gorgeous. You think if I called Daniel, he'd come over here and check you out?

Philip: I don't need a doctor. I'm fine. I just need some rest.

Hope: Bo, you don't want to do this.

Bo: Yeah, I do. You haven't heard. I'm a renegade. I've inherited my father's innate disrespect for the law.

Hope: Victor, would you excuse us a moment, please?

Victor: Of course.

Hope: Thank you. Bo. You have nothing to charge him with.

Bo: So what? I'll come up with something to keep him overnight. As long as I keep him off the streets, keep him from putting a hit out on somebody else.

Hope: And what about tomorrow or the next day? Or what if he's already given the order? You're the only one who is going to lose here.

Bo: I'll take my chances.

Hope: And when Ciara comes downstairs and sees her grandpa in handcuffs, what are you gonna say to your daughter?

[Cellphone ringing]

Bo: Oh, hell. You got any better ideas? Huh?

Hope: I might. Just give me a chance.

Bo: Fine. Have at it. Brady.

Hope: He's under a lot of pressure.

Victor: I can see that.

Hope: Because you are making his life a living hell. He can't sleep. He can't do his job the way he should.

Victor: Hope, could you please reassure my son I'm perfectly capable of taking care of my own affairs?

Hope: That's not gonna cut it, victor. Please let Bo do his job. You've got to drop this. Do it for Bo's sake. Let him handle things.

Victor: You know, Bo couldn't ask for a better wife. I mean, you're a Godsend. I love you like a daughter. Trust me -- everything is going to work out.

Hope: Thank you.

Melanie: Hey. Just, you know, stopped by to say get well soon.

Philip: Hey, Mel.

Melanie: Um, thanks for letting me come up. The guards you have are a little bit on the scary side.

Philip: They treat you badly?

Melanie: No, but they had their hands on me so long, I thought one of them was gonna ask me out on a date. [Laughs] No such luck, though. Anyways, these are for you.

Philip: Oh, thank you. They're beautiful.

Melanie: Oh, I didn't know you'd be here, Stephanie. Looks like you have your own private duty nurse.

Philip: Well, she's more than a nurse. She's my fiancée.

Melanie: Wow, you know? Man, holy cow. That's --

Philip: I think what you say is "congratulations, Stephanie."

Max: All right.

Hope: Hey, there's my beautiful girl. How are you, sweetheart? What did you do tonight, huh? Did you drive grandma absolutely crazy? Oh, sweetheart, what's wrong?

Max: When she had to go, we couldn't find Tommy bear.

Hope: Oh, no. Tommy bear? We can't go home without Tommy bear. Where was the last time you played with him, honey? Where was it? Do you remember?

Max: Ma said she was pretty much all over the place, so...

Victor: Now, why is that surprising? Little girl who wants to go everywhere she can.

Max: [Chuckles]

Victor: You make sure somebody helps you find that bear, okay?

Max: We'll make that happen.

Victor: Grandpa's gonna go now, sweetie. Bye-bye.

Ciara: Bye, grandpa victor.

Hope: Take care, victor.

Victor: We'll see you. Max.

Max: Good night.

Victor: Bo.

Bo: Victor. Hey, there's my little one. [Smooches] What's going on?

Hope: Big news.

Bo: What?

Hope: She doesn't know where Tommy bear is.

Bo: Ooh.

Bo: Ciara? Cia--

Bo: Hey, you know what? I think I might know exactly where Tommy bear is. [Chuckles]

Melanie: Hey, yeah, no. Congratulations. That's -- I mean, um -- did this happen a little fast?

Philip: Hell, life is short. We love each other. Why wait?

Melanie: Great. You should put that on a t-shirt.

Philip: Coffee's gone.

Stephanie: Oh, I'll go get some more.

Philip: You know what? It's okay.

Stephanie: It's no biggie.

Melanie: I'm g-- I'm gonna go with you.

Stephanie: What?

Melanie: I'm just a little hungry, so I was thinking maybe there would be something to snack on in there.

Stephanie: Okay, whatever.

Philip: [Coughs]

Melanie: I must have forgotten lunch.

Stephanie: I'm sure the staff left something here you can munch on.

Melanie: Oh, that's great. I love it -- "the staff." [Chuckles]

Stephanie: You were starting to be really nice to me at the hospital. I thought we were, you know, starting to be friends.

Melanie: Well, yeah, but don't friends tell each other the truth? Hot outfit, by the way. Philip bought it for you, obviously.

Stephanie: Yes. Why?

Melanie: It's not really you.

Stephanie: Oh, you know what I'd pick out?

Melanie: Girl, don't get huffy. I said it was hot. I just said it's not really you. I'm not being jealous, either. I mean, yeah, I had a thing for Philip like a million years ago, you know, but that's totally over. And if you're, you know, happy with that giant ring on your finger, that's great.

Stephanie: Thanks.

Melanie: However, Philip was wrong. You say "congratulations" to the guy because he's the one who won the prize, but you say "best wishes" to the girl because she has no idea what she's gotten herself into. You know what I'm saying? It's fine. I'm just -- I'm just saying Philip is a Kiriakis and you're a good girl and that's never gonna change.

Stephanie: Philip and I are gonna be very happy together.

Melanie: Oh, you think you're gonna change him. Steph...that's just never gonna happen.

Nicole: I like to hear you totally on fire like this. So determined.

E.J.: You do?

Nicole: Mm-hmm. It's sexy.

E.J.: Really?

Nicole: Really. You know, you were so worried, I thought you were gonna give up.

E.J.: On my father?

Nicole: On yourself. That maybe you weren't cut out to be the head of the family without him.

E.J.: Never.

Nicole: Of course not. And I'm glad I was wrong. Very glad, because I'm behind you on this. I want you to know that -- every step of the way. And I always will be.

E.J.: Come here.

Nicole: You come here. Oh. Oh, hold that thought. Th-- got -- can't. [Chuckles] Okay. Wah! [Chuckles]

Stefano: I'm not dead yet.

Victor: Good, 'cause I'm not done with you yet.

Hope: Where am I? Can you find me? Can you find me? Oh! Ooh! Oh, that looks delicious. What do you say, sweetheart?

Ciara: Thank you.

Max: You're welcome.

Hope: Hey, we may be in luck. Bo thinks he knows where Tommy bear is.

Bo: Yeah, I got a pretty good idea. Did you leave him outside when you were playing? In the park maybe?

Hope: I don't think that she was outside today, except maybe during recess.

Bo: Oh.

Max: You know, let me check upstairs again. 'Cause I know she had him when she came in.

Bo: Oh, all right. Thanks, max.

Hope: Thanks, max. You had another vision, didn't you?

Bo: Yeah. Thing is, do I know when they're true or not or what the heck they mean?

Hope: Well, true or not, we're right here.

Bo: Yeah. Thanks for trying to mend fences with victor.

Hope: He understood. I love you, Brady.

Bo: That's all that matters. Hey. Got some ice cream, huh? It's your favorite.

Victor: Your illustrious son is running out of time, Stefano. Maybe he should be reminded about how much he has to lose.

Nicole: Oh, this is a great way to spend your time when you're under pressure. [Chuckles]

E.J.: Make every moment count.

Nicole: Yeah.

[Cellphone ringing] Mm.

E.J.: Hello?

Stefano: Elvis.

E.J.: Father? Father, is that you? Are you all right?

Stefano: Victor tells me that you, uh...have not, uh, responded to his [Sighs] Ultimatum.

E.J.: Listen, don't worry, father, all right? I'm in complete control. I'm gonna get you home safely. You hear me?

Stefano: I know you will. You're a DiMera, after all. I trust you... with my life.

Owen: Mr. Kiriakis, sir. Sorry to interrupt, but I left some of my tools and things.

Philip: Oh, it's no problem, Owen.

Owen: All right, sir. Well, I guess I'll be heading -- are you okay, sir?

Philip: Oh. Yeah, no, I'm fine. I think I just need to get some rest.

Owen: Uh, yes, sir. Maybe I can give you a hand. Here, let me help you in.

Bo: Grandma's homemade strawberry. It's your favorite.

Hope: Oh!

Max: Ta-da!

Ciara: Tommy bear!

Hope: Where'd you find him?

Max: He was in the crib, actually, tucked very neatly in the blankets. It was probably Allie playing mommy.

Hope: Thank you again.

Bo: Yeah, thanks, man.

Max: Yeah, man, no problem.

Bo: Well, good thing daddy didn't lead everybody off to the park to beat the bushes for a bear that wasn't there.

Hope: Guess this is one of those visions that isn't going to come true.

Bo: Yeah, guess so.

E.J.: Father, you have my word. You will survive this, okay? Father? Father, can you hear me?

Victor: Your father's supply of insulin is running very low. So is your time.

E.J.: Well, we haven't reached the deadline yet.

Victor: Getting awful close. Maybe too close for comfort for your father. You have everything in order for the transfer?

E.J.: Look, you know it's going to take every single minute you gave me to make this happen.

Victor: Fine. Use your time wisely. I'll be in touch.

E.J.: So will I. So will I.

Thank you, Owen. I'll take it from here.

Owen: I was just helping Mr. Kiriakis into his room.

You can go now. I've got him.

Philip: Thank you. Hey, I actually want to say good night to Stephanie. I think she's inside. Can we go?

Owen: All right, sir, good night. Feel better.

Philip: Thank you, Owen.

Melanie: Oh, I saw those plane tickets you ripped up and threw away at the hospital. Looks like you were going somewhere far.

Stephanie: That's really none of your business, Melanie.

Melanie: Look, I'm just telling you as a friend, Stephanie, that I think you're setting yourself up for a pretty big fall.

Stephanie: No, that's not what I'm setting myself up for.

Melanie: I mean, don't get me wrong. I'd love to live here. You know, hang out by the pool, order the staff around. It'd be great, but that's -- that's not really you. And guards everywhere? I mean, do you really want to live your life worrying about if you're gonna die any second?

Stephanie: I'm not afraid for my life, actually.

Melanie: You don't mean that. Even if you do, how are you gonna feel a month from now? Or a year? I mean, these guys never quit. Do you really think you can live a good life like that and have a great marriage? I didn't think so.

Stephanie: Look, Melanie, I think it's time for you to go.

Philip: Damn right you should go. And don't come back.

Melanie: Hey, Philip, we were just --

Philip: Carlo, escort miss Layton out.

See you, princess.

Melanie: I'm -- ow. Ow! Ow. I can show myself out.

Philip: Carlo doesn't take no for an answer.

Melanie: I can show myself out. Thank you.

Stephanie: You know, I really think she means well. She just doesn't know what's inbounds and what's out of bounds.

Philip: Dumb twit. I don't need this right now.

Stephanie: Well, she's gone. Don't worry about it. Are you okay? Your eyes are crazy-looking.

Stephanie: Sure you want to sit out here? I thought you wanted to go to bed.

Philip: No, what I wanted was a great night, a real celebration. Instead I'm dizzy from those damn pain pills and everything's going downhill.

Stephanie: I don't understand what's wrong with you.

Philip: What were you and Melanie talking about? I'm sorry. I love you. I love you. Don't listen to me.

Henderson: Excuse me, Miss Johnson?

Stephanie: Henderson, I thought you had the night off.

Henderson: The movie was dreadful, miss. We all left early. You dropped your bracelet in the living room.

Stephanie: Oh, no. That must be Melanie's. I'll take it to her.

Philip: Hmm. There. Leave it. That's where it belongs.

Stephanie: Thank you, Henderson. Philip.

Philip: What? I'm fine. But you know what? I was right before. I should go upstairs and get some sleep, okay?

Stephanie: Okay.

Philip: I'm gonna say something I regret.

Stephanie: Well, I'll go upstairs with you.

Philip: Don't bother. I'll be dead to the world in 30 seconds. I'm fine.

Victor: Well, I'll say good night, Stefano. Who knows? This could be your last night on earth. Unless your son pulls off a miracle.

Stefano: [Sighs] I believe in my son... miracles.

Nicole: And they lived happily ever after. [Chuckles]

E.J.: Well, look at that smile. Somebody loves being read to.

Nicole: Uh-huh, especially when there's a happy ending.

E.J.: Something her mother's partial to, as well, if I recall.

Nicole: I am 'cause I believe in them.

E.J.: Even if it involves doing some things you wouldn't want your children to know about?

Nicole: Even if. We do what we have to.

E.J.: I'm glad we have an understanding.

Nicole: Yeah.

Philip: [Yawns]

Stephanie: You sure you don't want me to go upstairs with you?

Philip: No, I'm fine. I'm fine. Good night.

Owen: Getting a little chilly.

Stephanie: Oh, my God. Owen. No, no, it's actually quite nice out here.

Owen: Did I startle you again?

Stephanie: That's okay. I just thought you had gone home already.

Owen: Well, I was about to. I just have a few loose ends I haven't tied up yet.

Mia: You two know each other?

Will: Yeah, she's my Aunt Maggie.

Melanie: Stephanie doesn't accept what Philip does and she never will.

Philip: Maybe you shouldn't marry me.

Stephanie: Maybe I shouldn't.
