Rafe: Wait, wait, wait. I just want you to know that I wasn't trying to, you know --
Sami: I know. I know.
Sami: Well, you're smart, but you're not smart enough to know I was gonna fall in the river and get freezing and need you to rescue me.
Rafe: You know what I mean.
Sami: I know. I know that this isn't what you planned, but I don't know. It just, um -- it's right. Feels right to me.
Stephanie: I'm not gonna stand on the sidelines while this is going on. I'm a part of it now.
Philip: You don't deserve this, Stephanie.
Stephanie: No, what I don't deserve is to be kept in the dark. Now that you know I'm not gonna back off, now that I've put my life on the line for you, I think I'm entitled to know everything. The way your father left, the way you've been acting, I know something is going on. A plan is being carried out. Now just tell me what it is.
Philip: Okay. Fine. You ready to sell your soul?
E.J.: So...why the meeting?
Victor: Because we have him.
E.J.: You're bluffing.
Victor: Are you willing to bet your father's life on that foolish assumption?
Dr. Baker: Wait, wait. Stop.
Dr. Baker: You never gave me a number, exactly how much you're willing to give me.
Nicole: $15,000 cash.
Dr. Baker: $15,000? No, no, no.
Nicole: What do you mean "no, no, no"? That's a great amount to get you started.
Dr. Baker: Forget it, Nicole. $50,000 or I take my chances on E.J.
Nicole: What? I don't have that kind of money to give you, not just to hand out. I mean, E.J. Will be a little suspicious if I give you that.
Dr. Baker: Forget it. The deal's off.
Nicole: Don't you walk away from me. Dr. Baker, can you hear me? Dr. Baker. Oh. Um... oh, my God. Did I kill you?
Announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.
Restricted area. You're under arrest.
Nicole: Oh. You didn't do this, Nicole. He fell. It was an accident. It was an accident. But I hope -- I hope he doesn't have any evidence that I switched Mia and Sami's baby. And where would he hide my deepest, darkest secrets?
[Keys jingle] Ooh! Oh!
Maggie: Hi, will.
Maggie: Ooh! What's the matter, sweetie?
Will: She won't stop crying.
Will: Here you go. Take it.
Maggie: Well, there you go. She was just hungry.
Will: I'm not very good at this stuff.
Maggie: Well, of course you are. You got her to quiet down, didn't you?
Maggie: So, you're babysitting your little sister tonight?
Will: Yeah, my mom's busy.
Maggie: And she's very lucky to have your help.
Will: Yeah, well, it was supposed to be at tag-team effort, but one of my friends totally bailed on me.
Maggie: Oh, well, why would she do that?
Will: I guess she was upset. There are some kids from school, and they were saying stuff about her that...
Mia: I was in rehab.
Will: It doesn't matter. It's probably better that she left.
Maggie: Honey, is your friend in some kind of trouble?
Will: No. I mean...I don't know. We were getting along great, and then some kids came in here and started saying stuff about her that made me think of her in a whole other way. And then...
Maggie: And then?
Will: I was hoping she would say it was a lie. But she didn't.
Maggie: Oh. I'm sorry, will. This girl obviously, though, is an important friend.
Will: No. Not really. I-I mean, I haven't known her that long. I'll get over it.
Maggie: Well, I have some free time. I could stay here and help you with grace, if you'd like.
Will: Thank you, but I should probably get her home. It's past her bedtime.
Maggie: Oh. Well, I think this belongs to you.
Will: Oh, thank you.
Maggie: You might need that.
Maggie: Oh, you are such a cutie. Now, you be good to your big brother now, okay?
Will: You ready to go? Thank you. Bye.
Maggie: Take care, honey.
[Cellphone rings] Oh. Hello, Brian. What is it? What can I do for you? Gift cards? Oh, okay. All right, check the desk, bottom right-hand drawer. There should be a large envelope. You found them. Great. Okay. No, it's no problem. Bye-bye.
Mia: Uh, excuse me.
Maggie: Oh, sure. Sweetheart, you feel free to tell me to mind my own business. But are you okay?
Rafe: Under arrest? What do you think the penalty is for indecent exposure, like three to five hard time?
Sami: Okay, don't joke about this.
Sami: Thank you. Who knew we were on sacred ground, right?
Rafe: Yeah, I'll tell you, this place wasn't protected parkland back in the day.
Sami: Yeah, well, at least I have a story I'm not telling my kids, but maybe my grandkids someday.
Rafe: Oh, yeah, I can just hear it now.
Sami: I'm going to tell them that this was the most perfect first date I ever went on.
Rafe: Perfect. Right.
Sami: 'Cause it wasn't just romantic. It was...unpredictable.
Sami: And a heart-stopping adventure.
Rafe: That's how you like it, isn't it?
Rafe: Unpredictable and heart-stopping.
Sami: You like it that way, too, don't you? Otherwise you wouldn't be with me.
Stephanie: Sell my soul.
Philip: That was a joke.
Stephanie: Well, it wasn't funny.
Philip: Steph...what my father and I are doing was just taking care of our family, of you.
Stephanie: Of me.
Philip: Well, you said yourself you're part of this now.
Stephanie: You still haven't told me what the plan is.
Philip: The plan. The plan. Okay. Two things you need to know -- one, I do have a conscience. Tony's death... the nightmare still haunts me. I feel guilty. I feel responsible, even though it was an accident, and that is what it was. But damned if the DiMeras see it that way. I mean, they're the ones who instigated this war.
Stephanie: What's the second thing, Philip?
Philip: What we're doing -- my father and I -- it's for the greater good. I mean, think about what the DiMeras have done to your family. Honestly, don't you think the world would be a better place without them?
Victor: You want proof? A gift from your father.
E.J.: You're a -- give that here.
Victor: Stefano would never part with such a precious possession.
E.J.: Damn you. Where is he? Where is he?!
Victor: The phoenix is not going to rise from the ashes, not this time, not without the help of a mere mortal -- his son.
Nicole: Let go of me! Oh! Ow. Why didn't you leave town? Get off!
Dr. Baker: [Groans]
Rafe: Thanks, officer. You warm enough?
Sami: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.
Rafe: Except your dress is ruined and your shoes are ruined.
Sami: No, no. My hair is a mess. My makeup is all over the place. I know. I'm a wreck.
Rafe: You look beautiful. I'm sure you're completely uncomfortable, so why don't we just cut the date short?
Sami: What? No way. The best is yet to come.
Stephanie: Did you just say that the world would be a better place without... Philip, that -- that's not your call. You don't get to decide who lives and who dies.
Philip: You're afraid. I know that.
Stephanie: Of course I am when you talk like that.
Philip: You said you trust me, Stephanie.
Stephanie: I do. It's Stefano and E.J. And your father I don't trust, and the hatred. People filled with hatred and anger, and for what? Why? I mean, Philip, you were almost killed.
Philip: Next time I'll be prepared.
Stephanie: There won't be a next time because I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you again.
Philip: You're not gonna let anyone hurt me, Stephanie?
Stephanie: No, I'm not. Didn't you say that you'd do whatever you had to do to keep me safe? We'll I'm gonna do whatever I have to do to keep you safe, even if that means I go back to E.J.
Philip: No. You heard what I said before. Don't you ever go near him again. Do you understand me? Ever again.
Stephanie: Now you know how I feel.
Philip: If that son of a bitch ever laid a finger on you, I swear to God --
Stephanie: You'd what? You'd kill him? Is that what you were gonna say?
E.J.: All right. So...what do you want from me?
Victor: This all ends tonight, right here, right now. Stay the hell away from my son.
E.J.: My brother is dead. And if you harm my father --
Victor: I'll take you to him right now.
E.J.: Great. So you can murder us both?
Victor: Get rid of your guards. You'll be safe. You have my word.
E.J.: [Laughs] Oh, go, guys. I have his word.
Victor: Up to you, E.J. Do you want to see papa DiMera or not?
Nicole: Coming, Sydney.
Mary: Oh, Mrs. DiMera. I was just gonna check on -- dear God!
Nicole: Call an ambulance.
Mary: What happened?
Nicole: He fell. I don't think he's breathing.
Mary: Do you know CPR?
Nicole: Uh, sure.
Mary: Okay, I'll do chest compressions. You do breathing. 1, 2, 3. Mrs. DiMera, go! 1, 2, 3, 4, breathe.
Nicole: Okay, okay.
Mia: I'm okay. And thanks for the tissue.
Maggie: Okay. You go to Salem high? My two daughters went to Salem high a long, long time ago. I-I'm Maggie.
Maggie: Well, that's a pretty name. I haven't seen you before. Are you new in town?
Mia: Sort of.
Maggie: Um, I was gonna get some hot chocolate. Would you like some? My treat.
Mia: Uh, no, I couldn't. Besides, I'm not great company tonight.
Maggie: Well, let me be the judge of that.
Mia: No, really, I'm not myself. I haven't been in a while, but tonight things just really...
Maggie: Well, it might be good to talk about it.
Mia: I saw these kids I used to know from my old school, and anyway, they were saying stuff about me, you know, really bad stuff. And I kind of let this friend of mine believe it was true.
Maggie: Mm. Even though it wasn't.
Maggie: And why would you do that?
Mia: It sounds crazy, I know. It's just no matter how bad that ip was, it was so much better than what really happened. No one can ever know the truth.
Sami: Will, hi.
Will: What happened to you?
Sami: Oh, I fell in the river.
Sami: Yeah, it's a long story. Uh, where's Mia?
Will: Uh, she had to do something.
Sami: Is everything okay, sweetheart?
Sami: I heard her crying in the other room. Is she okay?
Sami: Why didn't you call me? What's wrong, pumpkin? Look at your little cheeks. They're all red.
Will: I didn't want to bug you.
Sami: Come on, sweetheart.
Rafe: You okay? Are you okay?
Sami: How did you get her to laugh like that?
Rafe: What can I say? I'm a funny guy. Hey.
Sami: I think she's getting a fever again.
Will: Really? She didn't feel warm to me.
Sami: Yeah. She's warm now. Maybe the fever just came back. Grace, what is it? What's wrong, sweetheart?
Nicole: It all happened so fast. One minute, he was on the stairs. The next minute, he was on the floor. I-I guess he must have tripped.
Mary: Yes, sir. I saw the entire thing. I, uh -- it's exactly as Mrs. DiMera said.
Right. What was the reason for his visit?
Nicole: Uh, what?
Why was he here?
Nicole: Well, he stops by all the time to visit Sydney. That's my daughter. He delivered her a few months ago.
Wow. A doctor who makes house calls.
Nicole: Yeah. We're very blessed, and I just pray to God that he makes it. How is he?
CPR might have broken a rib, but it saved his life.
Stephanie: Is that what you were gonna say? That if E.J. Ever laid a hand on me you'd kill him? Why aren't you answering me?
Philip: I don't think you want to know the answer.
Stephanie: You're right. Maybe I don't.
Philip: Stay with me.
Philip: I don't want you leaving. I don't want you going back to your apartment.
Stephanie: You mean tonight?
Philip: I mean ever.
Stephanie: Because you think I'm not safe? Because you think I'm gonna go back to E.J.?
Philip: No. Because I love you. I want to go to bed with you. I want to wake up with you. I want to...do nothing with you, and I want to do everything with you. What do you think? Will you move in with me?
E.J.: Okay, so...I release my guards, you take me to father, then what?
Victor: Well, that's up to you, E.J. Ordinarily, I don't negotiate with terrorists, but, in this case, a little diplomacy might benefit everyone.
E.J.: This is your idea of diplomacy, is it?
Victor: Well, need I remind you that tony was the first one to turn on his own family, so you owe him no loyalty whatsoever. Now, your father, on the other hand, that's a different matter.
E.J.: Go. Thank you. Hey, what is this?
Maggie: I hope you like chocolate chip.
[Chuckles] Here you go.
Mia: Who doesn't?
Maggie: Well, believe it or not, one of my daughters doesn't like anything chocolate. How weird is that?
Mia: That's pretty unusual.
[Both chuckle] How many kids did you say you had?
Maggie: I have two daughters. Melissa and Sarah. They're all grown up with families of their own. They moved away a long time ago.
Mia: You miss them, huh?
Maggie: Yes, I do. We e-mail a lot, though, and we talk on the phone all the time. My husband and I are gonna visit them over the summer. But I also have a young lady who lives with me who is, um, well, she's like another daughter. So I'm never lonely.
Mia: You're lucky.
Maggie: Yes, I am. And what about you, Mia? Are you close with your parents?
Mia: Not really.
Maggie: Oh. Well, I assume they live close by.
Mia: They have nothing to do with why I'm here, if that's what you're asking.
Mia: There's only one reason I'm still in Salem.
Sami: I got it.
Will: Mom, look, I'm sorry. If I knew she was sick, I would have --
Sami: No, it's okay. It's fine. It's 101. I'm gonna have to call the pediatrician. I mean, he said it was just teething, but...
Will: Maybe that's what it is now, too.
Sami: I don't know.
Will: Why? Do you think she's sick again?
Sami: Well, I don't know. This didn't happen with any of my other kids.
Will: Well, grace is adopted, so...
Sami: I know. I know, and -- and I just worry because she didn't have a lot of medical care when she was born. I mean, that's what they told me anyway. No, you can't put that in your mouth, sweetheart. So, um, you know what? I think I should call the doctor, just find out what is really going on here, right, sweetie?
Nicole: Oh. Doctor, so, other than a couple of broken ribs, there's no more serious injury?
No, but I am a little concerned about how long it's taking him to regain consciousness.
Nicole: What do you mean? There could be some impairment when he does, like, um, a memory problem?
Considering the area of the brain that was impacted from the fall, yeah, it is possible.
Nicole: You think he won't remember what happened?
He may not remember much of anything.
Nicole: Oh. Tragic.
E.J.: Victor, why the muscle? You gave me your word.
Victor: And I intend to honor it.
E.J.: [Laughs] I'm sure.
Victor: You, however, I don't expect to, so you'll be blindfolded and taken to Stefano.
E.J.: Yeah, this is ludicrous.
Victor: When we're all finished, you'll come right back here to be released.
E.J.: What are you doing?
Victor: You won't need this.
E.J.: I need that, yeah. Of course I do. I got to call my wife.
Victor: Nicole? I don't think she even knows that you're gone. And if something were to happen to you, she'd be seeing dancing dollar signs.
E.J.: You're gonna need bigger guys. [Grunting]
Stephanie: It's a big step, moving in together.
Philip: I've thought about it. Haven't you?
Stephanie: Not lately. There have been too many other things to think about, like keeping you alive for one thing. I haven't really had the time or energy to think about whether or not we're gonna take it to the next level. Oh, God. I can't believe those words just came out of my mouth.
Philip: Well, that's what we'd be doing if you said yes, and I hope you will because... I need you with me, Stephanie. I need you so much.
Stephanie: Yes, I'll move in with you.
Philip: Well, I guess...that sign over there is for the both of us, then. Welcome home.
Philip: And you can stay as long as you want.
Stephanie: Have you talked to your father about this?
Philip: Don't worry about him. He'll understand how important this is for me and for you. And since your family is out of town and your roommate just went to London, we're your family now. Look, I know how you feel about the Kiriakis name, so --
Stephanie: It's your name, and I love you, and I'm proud to be a part of your family.
Philip: Let's celebrate my recovery and your new digs.
Philip: How about some champagne?
Stephanie: I'll go get the glasses.
Philip: Is it done? Good.
Nicole: Why aren't you answering your phone, E.J.? When you get this, call me back. There's been an accident. Dr. Baker's in the hospital.
Sami: Will, um, do you mind staying here with grace while I run to the pharmacy real quick?
Will: Uh, I can go.
Sami: Are you sure? You don't mind?
Will: Yeah, uh, can I take your car?
Sami: You just want to use the sound system. Of course you can. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Okay, so, um, in case they ask you for my driver's license, and here's cash to cover it.
Sami: And my keys. Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Will: It's no problem. Be back soon.
[Door closes] So, first you get her to stop crying and then you get her to fall asleep? How did you do that?
Rafe: What can I say? She's putty in my hands.
Sami: Before you made her laugh. How did you do that?
Sami: No, really. Tell me what your secret is.
Rafe: Okay. If you really must know. See, when my sister was little, she always had this little tickle spot right there.
Sami: No, don't. Don't, don't.
Rafe: It works on you, too, on grace's mother.
Will: Hi, Maggie.
Maggie: Oh, will. What are you doing back here?
Will: I'm just killing time until grace's prescription's ready.
Maggie: Oh, dear. She's not sick.
Will: Yeah, she has a fever. I guess that's why she was crying earlier.
Maggie: Oh, poor thing. Well, you tell your mom if she needs any help to call me. I know she has her hands full.
Will: Yeah, it's like baby central at our place right now. Pretty crazy, but kind of fun.
Maggie: Oh, that's very sweet, will. Well, I better get home before Mickey starts to worry. Now, you have a good night, honey.
Will: Yeah, you too.
Will: Look, Mia, it's will. Look, I want to apologize for what happened earlier today. It was weird, I know, but I really wish you wouldn't have run out like that 'cause I wanted to talk. Anyway, uh, you can call me tonight when you get this, if you want. I-I stay up pretty late, so... yeah, otherwise, I guess I'll see you at school. Bye.
Sami: Hold on. Grace, hey, sweetheart. Are you okay? I think she's fine. I think she's fine.
[Grace coughing] Grace, it's okay, sweetheart.
Stephanie: So, that phone call -- it's about the DiMeras, wasn't it?
Philip: Come here.
Philip: Just come here.
Stephanie: What are you... what are you doing?
Philip: Um, I'm gonna show you what that phone call was about.
Stephanie: Okay. How?
Philip: You'll see.
Stephanie: Where are we going?
Philip: You'll see. Follow me. Wow. Thank you, Owen.
Owen: No problem, Mr. Kiriakis. Enjoy.
Stephanie: Philip, what did you do?
Philip: Not too shabby, huh?
Stephanie: I was supposed to be surprising you with a special night. My "welcome home" sign doesn't look so impressive anymore.
Philip: Well, in all honesty, I did have a little bit of help.
Stephanie: That's what the phone call was about. You were talking to Owen.
E.J.: [Grunts] Where's my father? Where am I?
Philip: To you, Stephanie. For making me realize what's important in life.
[Glasses clink] I've never wanted to be with anyone so much as I want to be with you. I like who I am when I'm with you. Hey. Don't cry, not yet. I don't want to have any regrets. And right now, the only regret that I have is that I haven't always been there for you.
Philip: No, let me finish. Look, I know you haven't approved of some of the things that I've said or done the past few months, but...the important thing is that you -- you stood by me. You're still here.
Stephanie: I told you, I'm not going anywhere. I want to be with you.
Philip: And if that is true, then this is the beginning of a new life for me. Stephanie Johnson... you are beautiful. You're thoughtful. You're kind. You're witty. You're wise. Did I mention beautiful? Did I mention perfect? Stephanie Johnson... will you do me the honor of being my wife?
Stephanie: Yes. Yes.
Philip: Give me your hand.
Will: Oh, I'm just passing through here.
Sami: Hey. Will, thank you again.
Rafe: Yeah, you want to join us?
Will: Uh, nah, I got a lot of Spanish homework.
Sami: [Speaks Spanish] Play with us. Hey, we'll start again.
Rafe: Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you?
Will: Uh, no, you guys have fun. Good night.
Rafe: All right, night.
Sami: Good night.
Rafe: Hasta maņana.
Sami: Wait, okay. I don't need the timer. I have a word. Appropriately enough, it's date.
Sami: Five points.
Rafe: That's a big word.
Sami: Stop it.
Rafe: All right.
Sami: Where are the letters?
Rafe: Appropriately enough. R-s-T.
Rafe: Date. Wow.
Sami: What did you get there? What is it?
Sami: Triple letter score.
Sami: Rafe, I'm really sorry about this date, about me falling in the river, and grace getting sick and everything.
Rafe: Why are you apologizing?
Sami: 'Cause you went to so much effort to put together such a special night, and now here we are playing scrabble.
Rafe: First of all, I love scrabble, okay? And secondly...you and I are gonna have a lot more perfect nights.
Nicole: Mommy will be home to tuck you in soon, Syd, okay? Listen, Mary, I won't be more than a half-hour. I just have one more thing to take care of. Thanks. Bye. Ooh. Doctor, um, how is he?
He's stable. You can see him if you'd like.
Nicole: Thank you.
Dr. Baker: [Mumbling] Where am I?
Nicole: You had an accident.
Dr. Baker: Accident? You tried to kill me, bitch.
Lucas: Tell me what went down between you and Chloe.
Daniel: Does your marriage make you happy?
Nicole: You go to the cops and you're gonna wish you didn't wake up right now.
E.J.: What exactly is it that you want?
Victor: Everything, Elvis. Everything.
