Victor: Well, ready to go home?

Philip: Get me out of here.

Victor: Car's out front.

Philip: What about our plan? What's the status?

Victor: Phase one is on the verge of being completed.

Will: Thanks for coming over, helping me babysit.

Mia: Are you kidding? I should be thanking you. I love spending time with Grace. Are you comfy, sweetheart? Strap's not too tight, is it?

Sami: Hi, you two. What do you think?

Mia: Wow. You look beautiful.

Sami: Yeah? Yeah, it's not too much? Not too dressy or anything?

Mia: Well, depends on where you're going. Uh, will didn't say.

Sami: Oh. Uh, I'm going out with this guy I've been seeing.

Mia: Oh, so it's a date.

Sami: Yeah. Yeah, it is.

Will: Yeah, so, we should go. Um, we'll be at the java café if you need us.

Sami: Okay. Hey, will, thank you so much for doing this, for watching Grace, and, Mia, thank you for helping him.

Mia: No problem.

Sami: I'll see you all later.

Mia: Have a wonderful night.

[Door closes]

Sami: Oh, God. What am I wearing? This is not right. I should change. I don't have time to change. Oh, God. Stop it, Sami. This is not your first date. It's been like years, but you'll be fine.

[Knock on door]

Sami: It's like falling off a bicycle. You'll be fine. Okay. [Clears throat] [Sighs] Hey.

Rafe: Whoa.

Sami: Come in.

Rafe: Wow.

Sami: Stop it. Come in.

E.J.: Dr. Baker, E.J. DiMera.

Dr. Baker: What can I do for you, Mr. DiMera?

E.J.: Your shift is ending in three minutes, so I think you should be able to make it over to the mansion in a half an hour. What do you say?

Dr. Baker: How do you know my shift?

E.J.: Well, I make it my business to know things that are of interest to me, dr. Baker. You are of great interest to me.

Nicole: E.J., What are you doing? Why did you invite dr. Baker over to the house?

Announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Sami: [Clears throat]

Rafe: You look incredible.

Sami: You, uh -- you said we were going somewhere romantic?

Rafe: We are. I mean, at least it is to me.

Sami: But -- but you're dressed like we're going bowling.

Rafe: Um, yes, you are right. I should have told you that you didn't need to dress up.

Sami: Oh, good. I'll change.

Rafe: No, no, no, no. Don't, please. I'm sure if we're careful, everything's gonna be okay.

Sami: Careful? What does that mean?

Rafe: A hint.

Sami: Thank you. That's beautiful.

Rafe: Bring a sweater.

Sami: I have a sweater.

Rafe: And bug spray.

Sami: What?

Rafe: A joke.

Sami: [Chuckles] Rafe.

Rafe: Come on.

Sami: Okay, okay.

E.J.: He's a charming man. I crave his company.

Nicole: Very funny.

E.J.: Dr. Baker's coming over. What's the big deal?

Nicole: You didn't tell me. That's the big deal.

E.J.: Well, wasn't aware I had to clear everything through you.

Nicole: You lied to me, E.J.

E.J.: No, I didn't. I didn't lie to you. I told you, my father has been investigating baker.

Nicole: Yes, I know, and you said you were gonna call off the investigation until he came home.

E.J.: Look, I don't know when he's coming home, all right?

Nicole: What are you talking about?

E.J.: My father is missing.

Mia: The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout down came the rain and washed the spider out

Will: Soy latte, shot of espresso. It's the beverage of choice for the A.P. English study hour.

Mia: Oh, right. I forgot. Study group.

Will: Yeah, and my sister is gonna be beaming up at you the whole time. So are you gonna be able to focus?

Mia: Probably not.

Will: Are you gonna let me and Mia study, Grace? She's got really big eyes, doesn't she?

Mia: She is beautiful.

Will: [Chuckles] Pretty mellow, too.

[Grace fussing]

Will: She doesn't cry at all. Oh, I jinxed it. Oh, no, not that much anymore. Yes, you're a good baby, aren't you, Grace?

Mia: I'm not the only one who's in love, huh?

Will: What, with her? Of course I am. I love her a lot. And I, uh...

Mia: What?

Will: I owe you a lot, too, when it comes to her.

Mia: How do you mean?

Will: I'm sure you remember when my mom first brought her home. I didn't really get it, but, uh, you said some stuff, and then just the way you've been around her, it made me, uh, I don't know, appreciate her.

Mia: So you get it now?

Will: Completely.

Tad: Oh, there they are. That's her right there.

Kinsey: Yep, that is definitely the Mia I used to know from Salem high.

Tad: Well, I figured it had to be by your description, but she wouldn't talk about that part of her life.

Kinsey: Why would she want to?

Stephanie: Welcome home.

Philip: I can't tell you what it means to be back.

Stephanie: I was gonna pick you up from the hospital, but your dad insisted. Where is he anyway?

Victor: I'm here. Making some phone calls. Just wanted to give you two a little time together.

Stephanie: Oh, thanks.

Victor: And now, Philip and I need a few minutes, if you'd excuse us, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Wait, you -- you mean...

Victor: I need to talk to Philip alone.

Stephanie: Philip just got back from the hospital, and I've been waiting here all day.

Victor: I'm not gonna negotiate with you, Stephanie. Philip and I have business to discuss.

Stephanie: So I'm supposed to just disappear like a good little girl while you two have a little manly talk about, I don't know, killing people?

Philip: Stephanie.

Stephanie: I'm sorry, Mr. Kiriakis. It's not gonna happen. You got the wrong girl.

Nicole: Stefano's vanished?

E.J.: I'm sure you're beside yourself.

Nicole: No, I-I-I don't get it, E.J. I mean, you can't reach him?

E.J.: No, I can't reach him, all right? His cellphone's turned off.

Nicole: Well, what do you think happened?

E.J.: I don't know. First I thought he was just flying under the radar because, you know, he left the country illegally, but... I mean, this family, we have countless ways of communicating with each other. It just -- it just seems implausible that he would not get in contact with me for any reason whatsoever, especially given the current, you know... problem that we have.

Nicole: Well, then, the Kiriakises are to blame for this, right? I mean, if anything happens to your father --

E.J.: No, no, no. Nothing's -- I mean, nothing's happened to him, all right? Nothing has happened to him. Don't say that. Where the hell is dr. Baker?

Nicole: E.J., Do you think dr. Baker had something to do with your father's disappearance?

E.J.: Do you know what? Yes, I think it's really possible. He's a lowlife. You understand me? A lowlife, the kind of person that can very easily be turned by someone like the Kiriakis family.

Nicole: So you're gonna pump him for information?

E.J.: I am gonna grill that man so hard, let me tell you. When he leaves here, there is nothing, nothing that I will not know about dr. Richard baker.

Victor: Have you been hitting the vodka?

Philip: Dad.

Victor: Well, she's never been this insolent to me before. I thought maybe she was a bit bombed.

Stephanie: You think a person needs to be bombed to stand up to you, Mr. Kiriakis? Is that what you think?

Victor: I think you're behaving like a spoiled brat, speaking to me this way in my own home.

Philip: Okay, that's enough, both of you. Look...it'll only take a minute, okay?

Stephanie: Philip, I've been waiting for you here all day.

Philip: We'll have our time alone. It's okay.

Stephanie: Fine. Two minutes.

Victor: Who the hell does she think she is?

Philip: She's the woman who found me lying in a pool of blood. She almost took a bullet, dad. She's going through some things, and I think it's gonna take her a little while to get over that. In the meantime, don't you think we should cut her some slack?

Victor: I suppose.

Philip: All right, look, you wanted a moment, you got it. Let's talk.

Victor: Phase one of our plan is complete. Everything is as it should be.

Philip: Then it's time for me to strike.

Mia: You know, you're not the only one who's thankful.

Will: Oh, yeah?

Mia: I think Salem high would be a lot harder without you around.

Will: Nah, you'd fit right in.

Mia: You're wrong. I'm not all that friendly by nature, really. But you've made me feel like I do fit in.

Tad: Hey, guys.

Will: Tad, how's it going?

Tad: It's going. Hey, this is my friend Kinsey. She's a friend of mine from Salem west.

Will: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm confused. I thought you were bringing someone from class so we could all study.

Kinsey: You don't remember me?

Mia: Um...

Kinsey: We went to school together. Long time, no see. You've been busy, huh?

Sami: You know, this just doesn't seem safe. If I had known I was hiking, I would have worn different -- Rafe.

Rafe: Hope you're hungry. I got crackers, cheese, wine -- lots of it.

Sami: You -- you set all this up?

Rafe: Yeah, wasn't a big deal. I just came up here this afternoon.

Sami: You know, I have lived here my entire life and I have never been here.

Rafe: Yeah, well, it's pretty much around my old neighborhood. You probably didn't make it to the south side of town that often.

Sami: Give me a break. Are you kidding? Don't act so tough. I wasn't -- okay, you're right.

Rafe: [Laughs] Well, first time I came up here, I was like 8 or 9. I was just blown away -- all the flowers, and it was warm. Billions of stars.

Sami: Like now.

Rafe: Yeah. You can hear the sound of the river.

Sami: Like now.

Rafe: Yeah, like now. But I used to come up here when I got older with friends. You know, come up and play some catch.

Sami: So that's it? You came up here by yourself or with friends?

Rafe: Yeah. What?

Sami: How many girls did you bring up here?

Rafe: Oh. Well, uh [Clears throat] Um...there's Sabrina and Barbara. Tonya -- she was --

Sami: Okay, I'm serious.

Rafe: Lolita, Minerva.

Sami: Cut it out.

Rafe: Cagney, lacey.

Sami: All right, all right, stop it. I guess you weren't really gonna answer that question. It's not fair 'cause you wouldn't want to make me jealous, right?

Rafe: Yeah, I would.

Sami: What?

Rafe: But I can't. Okay?

Sami: Why not?

Rafe: 'Cause you're it. You're the only person I've ever brought up here or would ever want to.

[Doorbell rings]

Nicole: E.J., I'll get it. Hey there.

E.J.: Dr. Baker, I'm so glad you could make it.

Dr. Baker: No problem.

E.J.: Sweetheart, why don't you go upstairs and check on Sydney?

Nicole: Oh, why do that, honey? I mean, the baby monitor's right under our noses. Besides, I want to be a good host to see if our guest needs anything.

E.J.: He doesn't.

Nicole: Okay.

E.J.: Please. Please take a seat.

Dr. Baker: I'd rather stand, thanks. So, what's this about, Mr. DiMera?

E.J.: It's about you not being who you say you are.

Philip: Cut me loose, dad. I'm ready.

Victor: Soon. First we have to make sure that phase two is completely prepared.

Philip: I thought you said we had no time to lose.

Victor: Go. Be with Stephanie.

Stephanie: Good. Your two minutes are up.

Philip: Had us on a timer, huh?

Stephanie: Where's your dad going?

Philip: Out.

Stephanie: Oh. How was your little talk?

Philip: You would know, wouldn't you?

Stephanie: What?

Philip: You were listening in.

Stephanie: No, I wasn't.

Philip: It wouldn't be the first time.

Stephanie: Okay, wait a minute. First of all, that was months ago at titan. I wouldn't do that to you now, Philip.

Philip: Shh, hey, hey, hey. Come here, come here.

Stephanie: I wasn't spying on you. I was fixing my hair.

Philip: Look, I don't want to fight. It's my first night home.

Stephanie: Then take it back.

Philip: Fine. I was wrong. I know you would never do that. I completely trust you.

Stephanie: You better.

Philip: I do.

Stephanie: Please don't leave me. Be strong, okay? Just hang on. Do it for me, please. Please just do it for me. You're gonna make it. You have to make it.

Rafe: You don't see it? Orion.

Sami: Okay, okay. Maybe.

Rafe: Okay, those other stars, they run north to south. They make up Orion's belt. You see them? One, two, three.

Sami: Yes, okay. Definitely I see that, I think.

Rafe: Wow.

Sami: Okay, all right. This is so much fun. [Both laugh] Have you, um -- have you always been into Astronomy?

Rafe: Yes, and the myths that surround it.

Sami: Okay, tell me your favorite one.

Rafe: Favorite -- um...okay. Actually, it's an old native American legend, yeah, and it says that Orion's belt is actually made up of the footprints that belong to the God of the flea people.

Sami: What?

Rafe: No, I'm serious. And this flea God was actually quite a stud. See, he had these three wives.

Sami: Oh, I'm sure he did.

Rafe: He did, and, um, but sadly, eventually, they got itchy, and so they ran away.

Sami: [Laughs]

Rafe: No, this is serious stuff. So this flea God, he jumped up into the sky, and hence you have the three footprints.

Sami: Okay. That's super...interesting.

Rafe: Well, it goes over big at constellation conventions, let me tell you.

Sami: [Laughs] I can see that.

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Sami: So, how come you didn't get into astronomy?

Rafe: Well, actually, I did want to be an astronaut when I was a kid, until I learned that NASA has like 5,000 applicants and 20 spaces that they can fill.

Sami: Rafe, I am sure you would have been one of the 20.

Rafe: Yeah, well, I went with something that has better odds for success.

Sami: Well, selfishly, I'm glad you didn't 'cause then we never would have met.

Rafe: Unless you believe in fate.

Sami: Do you?

Rafe: I do. I think that we were supposed to be here right now.

[Water splashes]

Sami: What was that?

Rafe: What?

Sami: What was that noise?

Rafe: Just a fish jumping. Probably a steelhead trout.

Sami: Fish jumping? What are you talking about?

Rafe: Yeah, they do that in the river. You know, they jump out of the water.

Sami: Really?

Rafe: Yeah.

Sami: Can we see them?

Rafe: Yeah, let's do it.

Sami: Oh, cool.

Rafe: Actually, you know what? I'm gonna pour some more wine. Here, give me your glass. I'll meet you there.

Sami: All right, all right. I'll be right there.

Rafe: All right. Hey, be careful 'cause the bank of the river is slippery.

Sami: Aah!

Dr. Baker: Look, I don't know what Nicole said to you.

E.J.: You're a fraud.

Dr. Baker: Is that what she said?

E.J.: She didn't say that. She didn't know that. I didn't know that. But my father...he did some research on you.

Dr. Baker: I don't understand.

E.J.: You're a rather pathetic act. Do you know that? Poorly performed, I might add.

Dr. Baker: Okay, look, if you're gonna stand here and accuse me --

E.J.: The moment that I laid my eyes on you, I thought that something was a little bit off. I mean, you're this wonderful country doctor. So dedicated to his patients that he even makes house calls. You came into my house to see Nicole. How many times did you do that? Why did you do that?

Dr. Baker: I don't know where you're going with this.

E.J.: Let me tell you. See, my father -- he did his homework on you. And he learned about everything. He learned about all of your gambling debts, your IOUs, every crime you ever committed, every single bookie you ever burned, and now...he's disappeared. He falls off the radar just as you pop onto it.

Dr. Baker: I had nothing to do with your father's disappearance...but I think I know someone who might.

Sami: Rafe!

Rafe: Sami, I'm coming!

Mia: Of course I remember you, Kinsey. Will, Kinsey.

Kinsey: It's nice to meet you.

Will: Same here.

Mia: And this is baby Grace.

Tad: Aww, I take it she's somebody's...

Will: Sister? Mine.

Kinsey: Cool. So, Mia, what have you been up to?

Mia: School, studying.

Kinsey: A different school now, though, huh?

Will: You two met at Salem West?

Kinsey: Oh, yeah. We had some classes together -- English and what else? Drama.

Mia: I didn't take drama at Salem West.

Kinsey: But you sure caused it. [Chuckles] Just kidding. Sorry. Dumb joke.

Mia: Yeah. So, um, I'm gonna go to the ladies room for a sec, okay? You guys excuse me.

Will: Yeah, sure.

Tad: So, she's the one you were talking about, right? Like prom-queen popular.

Kinsey: Yeah, pretty much. Of course, that was all before...

Will: Before what?

Kinsey: Before she dropped out of school midterm -- never came back.

Philip: What's wrong?

Stephanie: I'm just... I'm sorry I got into it with your dad.

Philip: That's okay.

Stephanie: Did he say mean things about me when I left?

Philip: No. No, I think he respected you for standing up to him.

Stephanie: Yeah, right.

Philip: I mean it.

Stephanie: I just don't like being treated that way, like I'm too fragile to know what's going on or I'm too dumb to understand.

Philip: Hey, Steph, come on.

Stephanie: You know... sometimes I think you feel that way, too.

Philip: Oh, that is not true. You know it.

Stephanie: How would you like it if I kept things from you?

Philip: Well, I don't think you tell me everything.

Stephanie: You're right. I don't.

Philip: [Chuckles] Okay, now I'm starting to think you're keeping something from me.

Stephanie: And that would be so unfair.

Philip: Are you?

Stephanie: Yep.

Philip: W-- what are you keeping from me?

Stephanie: Well, okay. Since, unlike you, I don't like secrets, and I'm actually kind of proud of this one.

Philip: Go on.

Stephanie: Remember when you got shot and almost died?

Philip: No. No, I don't recall.

Stephanie: Well, it was brutal. It was horrible, actually, and it freaked me out.

Philip: Get to the point.

Stephanie: I took action.

Philip: What?

Stephanie: I went to see E.J., gave him hell.

Nicole: I'm back.

E.J.: Sweetheart.

Nicole: The baby's asleep.

E.J.: Okay, that's great, but this is a private conversation.

Nicole: Oh.

Dr. Baker: I was only going to say that these people in the paper, the Kiriakises, they seem like the obvious place to look if you want to find out what happened to your father.

E.J.: That's your advice, is it?

Dr. Baker: For whatever it's worth.

E.J.: So, how well do you know them?

Dr. Baker: Kiriakises? Only what I've read.

E.J.: Let me tell you something that I've learned in dealing with situations like this. It is essential to cover both the obvious and the opaque. And that leads me back to you.

[Cellphone rings] Excuse me. Yes?

Victor: It's victor Kiriakis. I'm at the pier behind the third warehouse. Meet me here...now.

Will: Wait, so, Mia dropped out of school?

Kinsey: Yeah.

Will: Why?

Kinsey: Ask her.

Will: I will.

Kinsey: Although she won't tell you the real reason, which was that she was doing drugs. Well, that's what we all figured, and I'm sure it's true.

Will: Drugs?

Kinsey: Uh-huh. So she must have been in rehab.

Will: What?

Tad: Come on, Kinsey, this is not cool.

Kinsey: Well, he should know before he gets...involved with her or whatever.

Will: Yeah, yeah, but you don't know this for a fact.

Kinsey: Yeah, but what else could it be? I mean, the girl suddenly disappears one day, goes AWOL for months, and then shows back up in a different high school? It's classic.

Will: Okay, but she doesn't seem like --

Kinsey: Like a wild girl? She wasn't, actually, but, uh, some of the kids she hung out with were, and that's why everyone there said she got hooked on coke or maybe meth. Although I guess maybe it could have been bulimia. I don't know. But it was definitely something. Oh, hey, I'm not judging her. I mean, my God, half my friends --

Will: Look, that's enough.

Kinsey: Anyway...

Will: Unbelievable. You come in here, start talking about my friend like that, saying she went to rehab for drugs, but you don't even know?

Kinsey: Believe what you want, but I'm like 95% sure.

Will: You're also like 95% bitch.

Kinsey: Whoa. Someone's in love.

Will: Shut the hell up.

Tad: All right, maybe we should bounce.

Kinsey: Face it, will. No one disappears without contacting anyone or totally drops out of their past life unless there's a reason.

Will: Maybe she couldn't handle being around you all day.

Kinsey: Jerk. Hey, it's not my fault your girlfriend's a druggie.

Tad: All right, Kinsey, come on. Let's go.

Mia: Where did everyone go? What happened?

Philip: You gave E.J. Hell? You went to his own home and called him out?

Stephanie: And I'd do it again. Pompous creep -- he tried to kill you.

Philip: Stephanie, listen to me. You shouldn't have done that. You can't ever do that again. Do you understand?

Stephanie: I didn't do anything you haven't done, Philip. Plus, I did it for a much better reason.

Philip: The reason is completely irrelevant!

Stephanie: Okay, stop shouting at me.

Philip: Stephanie... I love you. You're a brave woman. But it's not only not safe, it's incredibly reckless. E.J. Might blow off this incident, but...

Stephanie: But?

Philip: Given possible future events...

Stephanie: I want to know, Philip. I need to know. What are you planning?

E.J.: I'll be right there. Don't leave.

Nicole: Where are you going?

E.J.: I'll be right back.

Nicole: Now do you see? Hmm? Now do you get it? Please, for everyone's sake, including yours, just get out of town. Just go, okay, where no one can find you.

Rafe: Sami. Sami. You're okay. Sami. Sami, can you hear me?

Sami: [Coughing]

Rafe: You're all right. Sami, you okay?

Sami: Oh, God, it's cold. Oh, Rafe.

Rafe: There we go. Okay.

Sami: [Shivering] [Breathing heavily]

Will: I'm not even sure I get the question, because, to me, I mean, the play's central theme of warfare is pretty ambiguous. I mean, probably at the time Shakespeare wrote it, everyone saw it as being really patriotic, but, uh...

Mia: Will.

Will: Yeah?

Mia: What's going on?

Will: What do you mean? We're studying.

Mia: You haven't even looked at me since tad and Kinsey took off.

Will: Grace is probably gonna wake up soon. We should probably --

Mia: See? You're doing it again. It's like you're ignoring me. Something happened while I was gone. They said something about me and I want to know what it was. Tell me.

Will: Kinsey. You did know her, right, when you went to Salem west?

Mia: Yeah. Not well, but I knew her.

Will: She said you dropped out midterm.

Mia: Yeah. That was sweet of her to talk about me behind my back like that. What else did she say about me? Will.

Will: She said you went to rehab for drugs. But, look, that doesn't sound like you, okay? So I want the truth. Is that really why you left Salem west? Or was there another reason?

Philip: Stephanie, listen to me. This isn't about what you suspect or what you think you know. It's about what you did.

Stephanie: What I did was stand up for you.

Philip: And that was a mistake, okay? I-I can't let this happen to you. I will not let you be a casualty.

Stephanie: Philip, where have you been? I've been in the middle of this, and I've been a potential casualty ever since the day I fell in love with you.

Philip: Steph.

Stephanie: And whatever's going on now, we're in it together. I'm not leaving you -- not now, not ever.

Dr. Baker: Nicole, would you stop panicking? The situation is not that dire.

Nicole: That's easy for you to say.

Dr. Baker: I didn't give you up, did I?

Nicole: What, am I supposed to be grateful? If you'd have done that, we'd both be dead.

Dr. Baker: Well, you know, maybe...working for the DiMeras, you know, if they find me useful, it might be good for me -- chance to clear my debt.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Or end up buried under a turnpike. You really think you have the upper hand here. These people, they -- they play for keeps, and when they want information, they get it, which means they will find out about the baby switch.

Dr. Baker: Why don't you say that a little bit louder? The servants can hear you.

Nicole: They will find out everything, and when they do, they won't be knocking on your door with a briefcase full of money. They will be handing you a shovel so that you can dig your own grave. The writing is on the wall. Don't you see that? Stefano DiMera taking an interest in you is a very bad thing. Well...miracle or miracles. I'm finally getting through to the man.

Dr. Baker: Look, hospitals are laying off doctors left and right. I don't have enough money to pay everything off.

Nicole: Yeah, well, I do. I married into it, in case you haven't heard. So if you follow me, dr. Baker, I will show you the answer to all your problems.

Sami: [Breathing heavily]

Rafe: Whoo, some first date, huh?

Sami: Yeah, well, it's definitely eventful.

Rafe: Should have warned you about the bank of the river.

Sami: Are you kidding? I'm just klutzy. I shouldn't have walked out in the dark by myself.

Rafe: So, as far as first dates go was pretty disastrous, huh?

Sami: Are you kidding me?

Rafe: No.

Sami: Definitely not a disaster.

Nicole: You can do it! You can do it, Mia! One last push! She's almost here! Push!

Mia: Aah!

Nicole: Push!

Mia: Yeah. I was in rehab.

Will: For drugs? Well, what kind?

Mia: Anything. Everything. Look, does it really matter? Okay, I get it. You don't want me around your little sister.

Will: Mia, I didn't say that, okay?

Mia: You don't have to say anything, will. Goodbye.

Philip: Don't you see what you're doing? You're romanticizing this. You think if you stand by your man, this will all have a happy ending. Well, it doesn't work like that, sweetie.

Stephanie: Then how does it work?

Philip: [Sighs]

Stephanie: You don't know, , , , , , , do you? You can't predict anything, but one thing you can predict and one thing that you know that's gonna happen is I'm not gonna stand on the sidelines while this is going on. I'm a part of this now, Philip.

Philip: I just don't want you to get hurt.

Stephanie: Look, you may think that I don't deserve this, but what I don't deserve is you to keep me in the dark. Now that you know I'm not gonna back down and I've put my life on the line for you, I think I'm entitled to know everything. And the way your father left and the way you've been acting, I know something is in the works. There's a plan going on. Just -- please just tell me what it is.

E.J.: So...why did you want to see me?

Victor: Because we have him.

E.J.: Who?

Victor: Guess.

E.J.: Father.

Dr. Baker: Wait, wait. Stop.

Nicole: What?

Dr. Baker: You never gave me a number, exactly how much you're willing to give me.

Nicole: $15,000 cash.

Dr. Baker: $15,000? No, no, no.

Nicole: What do you mean "no, no, no"? That's a great amount to get you started.

Dr. Baker: Forget it, Nicole. $50,000 or I take my chances on E.J.

Nicole: What? I don't have that kind of money to give you, not just to hand out. I mean, E.J. Will be a little suspicious if I give you that.

Dr. Baker: Forget it. The deal's off.

Nicole: Don't you walk away from me. Oh, my God.

Rafe: Wait, wait, wait. I just want you to know that I wasn't trying to, you know --

Sami: I know. I know.

Rafe: What?

Sami: Well, you're smart, but you're not smart enough to know I was gonna fall in the river and get freezing and need you to rescue me.

Rafe: You know what I mean.

Sami: I know. I know that this isn't what you planned, but I don't know. It just, um -- it's right. Feels right to me.

E.J.: Where is he? Where is he?!

Victor: The phoenix is not going to rise from the ashes, not this time.

Nicole: Call an ambulance.

Mary: What happened?

Nicole: He fell. I don't think he's breathing.

Restricted area. You're under arrest.

Philip: If that son of a bitch ever laid a finger on you --

Stephanie: You'd kill him? Is that what you were gonna say?
