Sami: [Chuckling] Oh, man.
[Doorbell rings] Hey.
Sami: I'm so glad you're here.
Lucas: Yeah, well, three voice messages, a text, you told will you wanted to see me. Can only assume it was urgent.
Lucas: Is the baby all right? Allie's okay?
Sami: Yeah, no, it's not about Allie. It's grace and E.J.
Lucas: You didn't tell him, did you?
Sami: How did you know?
Lucas: Well, because if you told E.J. That you kept a kid from him, that explosion would have been heard throughout town, throughout the land of Salem.
Sami: I know, all right? So I didn't tell him, and now I'm telling you not to tell anyone else, all right? It's still a secret.
Lucas: Does this have something to do with Philip?
Sami: You know it does. I mean, I believe what happened with tony was an accident. I know Philip. I know he's not a murderer.
Lucas: Yeah, well, the DiMeras don't agree with you on that one, do they?
Sami: Lucas, we were all at the church when Lexie told us what had happened to Philip. And I couldn't believe how E.J. Handled it. He was so calm and collected about the whole thing. He was obviously behind it, and he didn't care that he was part of...killing a man.
Lucas: And this is the father of two of your children.
Sami: Yeah, well, you promised never to tell anyone.
Lucas: There is someone else who knows.
Sami: What? You told Chloe? Lucas, you promised me that you wouldn't tell anyone.
Lucas: I'm talking about your friend, the FBI guy -- that guy Raffie or Raffi. Whatever his name is. Can he be trusted?
Lucas: Sounds lukewarm. What happened? I thought you guys were an item.
Sami: I don't know what we are.
Arianna: It's been a long time since I've seen the sun come up.
Rafe: Yeah. Well, we had a lot of catching up to do.
Arianna: I guess I didn't realize how much I've missed you.
Rafe: So I take it last night made up for everything?
Arianna: To make up for everything -- that would require you buying me breakfast.
Rafe: You always did drive a hard bargain.
Arianna: [Laughs] I'm just so happy you're back in my life.
Daniel: I don't have time for this, Kate.
Kate: [Thinking] You think it's over Daniel. We'll see.
Chelsea: There you are.
Kate: Oh, baby, what is it? Did -- did you find out something else about your mom?
Chelsea: Yeah, it's okay. I spoke with the doctor, and she's stable.
Kate: [Sighs] You scared me.
Chelsea: I'm sorry.
Kate: Oh, God. So, what else did they have to say?
Chelsea: He said that her injuries are pretty severe and it's gonna be a really long recuperation.
Kate: My poor baby. Well, I am going to be there as long as she needs me.
Kate: I got a ticket for London. I'm going tonight.
Chelsea: You can't go tonight. What about Philip?
Kate: He's getting better, and Daniel said that he thinks he's gonna make a full recovery.
Chelsea: Grandma, you're not going. I'm sorry, not with Philip still in the hospital.
Kate: Billie's my daughter. I don't have any choice.
Chelsea: Yeah, you do. You stay here and I'll go.
Chloe: Hey. Do you mind if I sit with you?
Will: No, no, go ahead.
Chloe: So, at the real risk of sounding like a cliché of a stepmother, aren't you supposed to be in school?
Will: Nope, teachers conferences.
Chloe: Ah. Well, how's it going? How do you like Salem high?
Will: I don't mind class too much, but as for the rest of it, like, I don't know. Everyone hangs out in clumps. One clump being really cool. Another clump looking down on them for trying to be cool.
Chloe: Well, you're on the baseball team. You must have a lot of friends, right?
Will: That's my clump. You're on the baseball team, so you're considered a jock. No jock ever wanted to talk about a book or something like that.
Chloe: Ah, you may not want to hear this, but you and I actually have a lot in common. I also hated all those cliques.
Will: Oh, come on. You were prom queen.
Chloe: I had some friends, but I was never really popular, and that whole prom-queen thing was actually kind of a fluke.
Will: That's when you were with uncle Philip, right?
Chloe: Yeah, that's when we met -- sophomore year.
Will: Did you know my dad back then?
Chloe: No, not really. He was --
Will: Really in love with my mom, huh?
Lucas: So, this guy, are you guys, uh, you know?
Sami: He's not just this guy. His name is Rafe -- r-a-f-E. Rafe.
Lucas: Okay -- Rafe. Rafe the FBI guy. Thought things were going well between you two.
Sami: Yeah, well, I thought so, too. They were wonderful for like two hours.
Lucas: Well, that's surprising. Boy, your relationships are usually tranquil. Boring, actually, to a point.
Sami: I know you think you're funny, but you're not.
Lucas: All right, fine. I'm not funny. Can we trust him or what?
Sami: About grace, yes, we can totally trust him. He just has this thing about E.J. And when I told him that I was thinking about telling E.J. The truth about grace, he flipped out and he -- he almost left town.
Lucas: Imagine that. FBI guy having trouble with E.J. Wow. Must be the rigid type.
Sami: He was right, and I was wrong.
Lucas: So he almost left town. That means he's still here, right?
Sami: Right. Well, I went to him, and I talked to him and got him to stay and that's when we had a wonderful time for like a second and then...
Lucas: Then what? What happened? Come on, tell me.
Sami: E.J. Happened.
Lucas: Oh, E.J. Happened. All right, now I get it.
Sami: It was one of those wonderful moments in life, you know, like right up there with labor pains.
Lucas: How'd it end?
Sami: I don't know. Rafe's not here. Lucas, I think I scared him away.
Chelsea: I've already made up my mind.
Kate: You have to be here for your school. You have to be here for you career. You have to be here for max, after everything you've been telling me.
Chelsea: Look, this is my mother we're talking about. I'm not just gonna stay here when I know she needs me there.
Kate: Okay, listen to me -- if she's going to be there as long as we think she is, there's no way your mother would want you to be putting your life on hold for her like this.
Chelsea: What about taking care of my mother is putting my life on hold?
Daniel: Is something wrong?
Kate: My -- my daughter Billie.
Daniel: You mom.
Kate: Yes. Her mother was in a very serious car accident.
Daniel: I'm sorry to hear that. What was the prognosis?
Chelsea: Her injuries are pretty severe, but it's gonna be a really long recuperation, but she's stable.
Kate: Jack and Jennifer are in London.
Kate: Well, so I could have them check in on her until I get there.
Chelsea: Until I get there.
Kate: Okay, look, I'm gonna go call them right now, then I'm gonna come back here and I'm gonna persuade you to do exactly what you need to do, okay?
Daniel: You know, I really am sorry.
Chelsea: Yeah, it's just weird because I was just thinking earlier this whole week that I needed to call her, that I needed to call her, and I just kept putting it off because I was getting too busy and things were too important.
Daniel: Yeah, sure, blame yourself. That'll help. You're a rotten daughter. This is your punishment.
Chelsea: I was kind of just wanting to call her to tell her about me and...
Daniel: About you and...
Chelsea: About max and me.
Daniel: You're happy, huh?
Daniel: That's great, Chelsea. That's -- that's really great.
Chelsea: I actually believe that you mean that.
Daniel: You know I do. Friends like it when their friends are happy. So, what about your grandmother? What's her problem?
Chelsea: Uh, well, I want to go to London, and she thinks that she should.
Daniel: So you're going to London.
Chelsea: I am, and I'm not backing down.
Daniel: Just like Kate.
Chelsea: No, I'm not like Kate. I am reasonable.
Daniel: [Laughs] Yes, you are. So, uh, what hospital is your mother in?
Chelsea: Um, Kent hospital in Mayfair.
Daniel: It's a small world. A friend of mine is on staff there. I can call him just to see how she's doing.
Chelsea: That would be really, really nice, actually.
Daniel: You got it.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Daniel: Um...you know, if you do go, I'll miss you around here. Well, everybody will.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Lucas: So, you scared him off.
Sami: Yeah, well, I think he thinks my life is complicated.
Lucas: [Sarcastically] No.
Sami: And that I can be emotional from time to time.
Lucas: You, really? Whoa.
Sami: Look, I admit that I can be...difficult and that I change my mind sometimes, but that still doesn't mean that I have the feelings that E.J. Says I have, and what does E.J. Know about anything anyway?
Lucas: You know what? Just back up. Rewind, please. I need to get a few things straight in my head.
Sami: Okay, well, it started at the wedding, because --
Lucas: Because what?
Sami: Because, as you know, I went to the wedding to tell E.J. That he was grace's father.
Lucas: Discreet, Sami. Very discreet.
Sami: Yeah, well, then I found out what Stefano and E.J. Had planned to do to Philip, so I decided not to tell him anything, but I was already there. I'd already interrupted their wedding, and now E.J.'S wondering why I had interrupted the wedding, and I couldn't tell him why, so that's when E.J. And his huge ego decided that it must be because I wanted to stop him from marrying Nicole because I...had feelings for him.
Lucas: Wow. What a tangled web you weave. Amazing.
Sami: Oh, come on. Anyone with half a heart would stop someone from marrying Nicole. Please. It's like rescuing an animal from a trap.
Lucas: So now E.J. Thinks that you love him.
Sami: Right, and E.J. Doesn't just think that. He has to announce it to everyone he comes across it seems like, and Rafe heard him and then after E.J. Left, Rafe was all, "I think we should be honest with each other," and then I tried to tell him in no uncertain terms that I am not in love with E.J., But...he walked out anyway.
Lucas: You know what? I just have one question. When you say that you don't love E.J., That you don't have feelings for him, are you being honest when you say that?
Chloe: Well, I guess it never matters what we start talking about. It always get around to your mom.
Will: I'm sorry.
Chloe: No, will, I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry that your dad and I got close when you were gone. And he and your mom, yeah, they had Allie, but I had nothing to do with breaking them apart.
Will: Well, I know. My mom did.
Will: I mean, watching her in action now, like, "hey, I adopted a new baby. Hey, do you like my bodyguard?" I stopped asking myself how he could have left her, and I started wondering how he put up with her for so long.
Chloe: Will, your mom's been through a lot.
Will: I know. I just think... look, I was wrong. My dad's better off with you.
Chloe: Well, I'm glad that you think that.
Will: I mean, he can count on you. That means a lot.
Sami: No, it's great. Just fantastic. I love it. You know what? I am not in love with E.J., Lucas, and you know that.
Lucas: Well, one could argue that you're protesting a little too much. Before you found out about Philip, you were gonna tell E.J., Weren't you? You felt compelled to tell him that you guys have another kid together.
Sami: Yeah, but then I didn't, and you should understand that better than anyone, after what I did to you with will. And you're married to Chloe now, right? Doesn't stop me from seeing you in will and in Allie. And I love what I see.
Lucas: You think Rafe can do that? You think he can understand about you and E.J.?
Sami: The person who doesn't understand is E.J. He is such a -- ugh! -- I just could have killed him. Oh, I shouldn't say that in front of you.
Lucas: That's all right. If I were a better shot, you wouldn't have to deal with any of this, would you?
Sami: Oh, my God. Don't talk like that, all right?
Lucas: Ooh, listen to you. Defend him, getting a little funny? Are you sure you don't have feelings for him? Are you sure, you sure, you sure?
Sami: Yes, I am sure I don't have feelings for him. He is the father of two of my children, and that is the limit to how I care about him.
Lucas: Better make sure of that. Better be careful. Make sure history doesn't repeat itself.
Rafe: You want coffee?
Arianna: I'm just gonna take a look at the menu first. Well, it's good to know you haven't changed any.
Rafe: Is that right?
Arianna: Last night, all that talking, all about me and every question about you or your life just got deflected.
Rafe: Well, what can I say? My life is boring.
Arianna: Yeah, right. That's why they make TV shows about witness protection because it's so boring.
Rafe: Well, in real life, it is, seriously. You still like espresso? Because they make a damn good cup of it here. Get you all fired up.
Arianna: Not gonna work, buddy. I talk about witness protection, you talk about espresso? What is it you don't want me to know? Is it about the job?
Rafe: I gave it up.
Arianna: Witness protection in particular or just this whole FBI thing?
Rafe: Well...I'm not with the agency anymore.
Arianna: What happened?
Rafe: Just needed to mix things up.
Arianna: Bull. You were canned. You would never voluntarily leave the agency in a million years.
Rafe: All right, all right. Well, how I handled my last assignment, um, well, we didn't exactly see eye to eye.
Arianna: You know what's strange? My psychic abilities are starting to kick in, and, uh, I'm getting the strongest impression that your last assignment was young, female, beautiful.
Arianna: No. You fell for her, didn't you? [Laughs] Man, some things never change.
Kate: Well, my day just keeps getting worse and worse.
Chelsea: Why? What's wrong now?
Kate: I called Julie to get Jen's number, and she said the two of them are in Africa visiting bill, so...
Chelsea: Um, Daniel, do you think that you could call your friend at the hospital in London and tell him that nobody from my mother's family is gonna be able to make it to her?
Daniel: I'm happy to. She'll be well taken care of.
Chelsea: Okay, and then also tell him that I'm gonna try to get there as soon as possible, probably tomorrow.
Kate: Chelsea, please, don't be stubborn, okay? No.
Daniel: I'll let you two work this out alone.
Chelsea: He's really nice. He actually just made me feel a lot better.
Kate: Oh, yeah. He's very gifted at make women feel better.
Chelsea: What's that supposed to mean?
Kate: That's supposed to mean that I am just -- I have so much to do. I need to get busy. I need to pack, and, um, I need to make some business calls.
Chelsea: Grandma --
Kate: Hello? Yes, yes, I'm her mother. Oh, my God. No, yes. No, I understand.
Fr. Matt: Oh, the second time I've run into you with a smile on your face. Apparently married life agrees with you.
Chloe: Good morning, father.
Fr. Matt: Good morning.
Chloe: I have a question. Is it a sin to tell a kid who plays baseball that you'd love to learn all about it when it's basically your idea of torture?
Fr. Matt: [Chuckles] Is that your husband's son? No, I don't think that's a lie. I think that's a brilliant idea.
Fr. Matt: So, apparently all the things you were worried about before your wedding --
Chloe: It's been clear sailing. And I think it's gonna stay that way.
Sami: Are you serious? Do you know how smug you sound saying things like that? "Oh, well, Sami, history's repeating itself."
Lucas: Well, I'll be smug. If smug mean right, I'll be smug, fine.
Sami: He arranged to have Philip killed. I could never love someone like that.
Lucas: Maybe love isn't the right word.
Sami: It's not.
Lucas: Well, maybe in your mind up here, you know that he's not right for you and you shouldn't have feelings for him.
Sami: If you point at your heart next, I'm gonna freak out.
Lucas: I wasn't gonna point at my heart. It was a different place than that. I think you know what I mean.
Sami: Are you serious?
Lucas: What? It's the truth. Throughout time, smart humans have made mistakes. You know, they haven't picked the smartest people for them.
Sami: You're certainly a textbook example of that.
Lucas: Yeah, I am, especially when I fell for you, right?
Sami: Are you serious?
Lucas: I'll be quiet.
Sami: You'll get out is what you'll do.
Lucas: Hey, watch it. You trust me, all right? This is one of the biggest secrets you've ever had, and you trust me, and I honored that, didn't I?
Sami: Yeah, you did, Lucas. Thank you.
Lucas: And I also, you know, see you in will and Allie, and I love what I see. I care about you. I really do, and I don't want to see you get hurt again.
Sami: I'm not gonna get hurt. I'm not gonna tell E.J. The truth about grace, all right? I don't want to have anything to do with him, ever.
Lucas: You don't really have a choice, do you? I mean, Allie and Johnny are brother and sister. You're gonna have to run into him. You're gonna have to be a part of his life. And you'll still be tempted by him.
Sami: Oh, my God. Why would you say something like that?
Lucas: Because the guy just tried to kill my brother. That's why. I'm not gonna let him hurt anybody else I care about.
Chelsea: And can you please tell her that I will be there as soon as I can? Actually, I've been training in O.T., So I think I could probably be of some assistance to the nursing. Okay, thank you. I look forward to meeting you. Well, I know that it seems bad, but she's gonna be okay.
Kate: You were really great on the phone. You were very strong and capable, and I'm thinking if you want to go to London, you should go. And I'm gonna come with you.
Chelsea: Grandma, I-I really think that you should stay here, and then when Philip fully recovers, you can reconsider.
Kate: No, I already bought my ticket, so...
Chelsea: Okay, so you can use it when you do go. I'm just not comfortable with you leaving him here when he needs you still.
Kate: I know. He has been through quite an ordeal, hasn't he?
Chelsea: Yeah. And I'll be with my mom. I'll be right with her. And I'll call you every day with an update. I guess I should go tell mark and my supervisor that I'm going. [Sighs]
Kate: Chelsea. I'm gonna be fine. I really am. Okay.
Chelsea: You'll be with my mom when the time is right.
Kate: I know. Thank you, honey. God.
Daniel: You know, I think you and I should talk.
Kate: You know, it's a funny thing. I was just going to go look for you, because I think you're right. We do need to talk.
Lexie: Theo, honey, honey. Wait.
Chelsea: Hey, buddy.
Chelsea: Abe, is that really you?
Abe: [Laughs] I know. I almost forgot there was a world outside of my office.
Lexie: Yeah, we took the morning off. We're heading over to the O.T. office to see Mark.
Chelsea: Well, I'm actually glad that I ran into you. Because I was gonna have to do this over the phone, which I'm glad I don't, but...
Lexie: What? Is something wrong?
Chelsea: Uh, yeah. No, I mean, everything's okay, but my mom was in an accident in London.
Abe: Is she all right?
Chelsea: Yeah, she, um -- she's expected to make a full recovery, uh, but she's gonna have to undergo a lot of operations, so I'm gonna go be there with her.
Lexie: Oh, Chelsea, honey, I'm so sorry.
Chelsea: Thanks. You hear that, Theo? I'm gonna be going away for a while.
Chelsea: I knew that you would ask that, which is why...
Lexie: Oh, Chelsea.
Chelsea: ...I made you one of these. It's an airplane, right? So I'm gonna be going on one of these for like a really long time, probably overnight, because I have to go see my mommy. I'm gonna miss you a lot, pal. You know that, right? Give me a hug?
Lexie: Chelsea, listen. Thank you. Thank you for everything. We're really gonna miss you.
Chelsea: Well, thank you for letting me be a part of your family. Come here, little man.
Sami: Lucas, I'm really sorry. I-I shouldn't have been saying anything with your brother and everything.
Lucas: I don't get it. Every time this guy comes up, every time something happens, you tell me, "yeah, I've moved on. I'm over him," yadda, yadda, yadda, but you know what happened the last time you told me that, Sami? You were pregnant with his baby again. That's what happened. And I don't like the fact that my daughter is a part of that family, by the way, but I have no choice because of Johnny, do I? So why don't you get your feelings straight? Why don't you be honest with me and tell me? Tell me the truth, Sami, 'cause you can't afford to make any more mistakes. My brother was almost killed. My mom is a basket case. Every single time I take Allie to see Johnny, I got armed goons watching them so they won't be the next victims. So you know what? I'm not here to talk about your stupid love life. I'm here to tell you to grow up, all right? Just grow up now. Grow fast, please.
Rafe: You know, I really hate it when you act like you know me better than I know myself.
Arianna: Rafael, people who have known you for five minutes know you better than you know yourself. You're not what you would call reflective.
Rafe: Okay, see, I thought we were here for the breakfast, not the therapy.
Arianna: Oh, honey, this isn't therapy. See, I'm not trying to help you grow. I'm kind of laughing at you.
Rafe: You're not a nice person.
Arianna: Was she worth it? I know how much you love that job. Is she worth losing it?
Rafe: I don't know.
Arianna: Oh. It's over? Already?
Rafe: I don't know.
Arianna: Looks like I found you again just in the nick of time.
Kate: So, we both agree we need to talk.
Daniel: Yeah, and I want to talk to you about Chelsea.
Daniel: Yeah, I think it's important that she be with her mother. I know you want to protect her, and I've seen this before, but it just --
Kate: Chelsea's going to London, and I'm staying here.
Daniel: Oh. Good. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to butt in. I just...thought --
Kate: It's all right. I mean, you really are part of the family now, aren't you? I mean, we're all tending to lean on you, especially the women, right?
Daniel: Everything okay?
Kate: I'm just feeling tired, you know? I'm feeling like anything could pop out of my mouth.
Daniel: Okay, well, you wanted to talk to me.
Kate: Yeah, I do. Although, I'm having kind of a hard time figuring out where to start.
Daniel: Ah, sorry, Kate. Work.
Kate: Oh, that's fine. You go. You go save lives. I'll wait for just the right moment.
Chloe: So, I think I'm making a little bit of progress with will, and Allie and I, well, I'm just crazy about her.
Fr. Matt: Your husband -- how are things going with him?
Chloe: Well, there's some things going on with his family right now. Philip -- that guy that was shot -- that's his half brother.
Fr. Matt: Yes, that poor family.
Chloe: Yeah, and, truthfully, I was really happy that we were married before any of that happened. It just made us that much closer.
Fr. Matt: And you haven't told your husband about your affair.
Chloe: Oh, no. Thank God I didn't. Lucas has been through enough. He doesn't need to be hurt anymore.
Sami: I get what you're talking about, all right? I'll be careful.
Lucas: I don't mean to be, you know, rude about this, but it's not like I can take Allie out of this whole thing. Their connection to Johnny, I can't just leave town and forget about all this madness, so be careful with E.J. And be honest with me.
Sami: I will. I am.
Lucas: All right, and about this bodyguard guy.
Lucas: Rafe, raff, whatever.
Lucas: All right, Rafe. Now, I don't like him challenging E.J. And taking him on like that for the kids' sake, all right? He's got to keep things calm, as calm as possible.
Sami: All right, well, I don't know what's going on with Rafe.
Lucas: Well, maybe you should find out.
Sami: Okay. Look, I really want you to know how much I appreciate you being there for me with all this.
Lucas: Yeah, we got to stick together.
Sami: You're a really good friend to me, Lucas. I appreciate it. And I know my secret's safe with you.
Will: And just what does that mean?
Chelsea: Wow, saying goodbye to Theo was difficult. You're gonna be murder.
Kate: No, because you are just going to concentrate on the times that you were justifiably angry with me. Besides, it's not really goodbye. You're just going to London. It's no big deal.
Chelsea: Don't. Do not cry because then I'm gonna lose it.
Kate: I'm not crying. I'm just wishing that there was a favorable exchange rate so we could go shopping together.
Chelsea: You know that I wouldn't leave you like this for any other reason than my mom, right?
Kate: I'm gonna be fine, sweetie.
Chelsea: You're a liar.
Kate: No, it's called denial, and it's a really good defense mechanism.
Chelsea: Well, I guess that I should go. I have a lot to do.
Kate: You should go. You do need to go, but you have to make sure that you call me as soon as you get there, okay?
Chelsea: I will.
Kate: And tell your mom that I love her very much and I'm gonna be there as soon as I can.
Kate: Oh, sweetie.
Chelsea: [Sniffles] You know, you don't exactly fit the stereotype, but, to me, you're the best grandmother ever.
Kate: I love you.
Chelsea: I love you, too. All right. Bye.
Kate: [Sniffles] It's a good thing you're going. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.
Will: You're always doing crazy stuff, and now you're dragging dad down into it?
Lucas: You know what? I'm gonna state the obvious right now. You don't talk to your mother like that, especially in front of me.
Will: Why do you stick up for her?
Lucas: That is none of your business. You know what? I can't wait till you're 17 or 18, whatever age it is you don't know everything.
Sami: Hey, you know, he's just surprised. Will, your dad has a lot on his plate right now. Cut him some slack.
Will: Yeah, and you're helping how? What's this big secret he has to keep?
Lucas: Didn't you hear what I said?
Sami: You know, will -- he's just like me. He's not gonna quit until he knows. Um, I was talking to your dad about Rafe. I don't want anyone else to know that, um, there might be more to our relationship than just friendship.
Lucas: You're gonna go talk to him, right, Sami?
Sami: Yeah. I wish I knew where he was.
Will: I just saw him at java café. He's probably still there.
Sami: Oh. Great. Um, will...
Will: Yeah, okay, yeah, I'll babysit grace, but you know what? You should really start paying me.
Sami: Okay, um...
Lucas: I got it.
Sami: [Laughs] Thank you, Lucas.
Lucas: You go do what you got to do.
Sami: All right. Hey, uh, Lucas...thanks again.
[Door closes] Take that. That should cover it, all right? I got to go. I got to go meet Chloe.
Will: I just saw her at the pier.
Lucas: Oh, yeah?
Will: I invited her to one of my baseball games, even though I'm pretty sure she hates baseball, but I think she's trying to worm her way into my good graces. She's not bad at it.
Lucas: She is good at that. Good. I'm glad.
Will: I like her.
Lucas: Even better. I like the sound of that. Very nice. Good attitude.
Will: Dad, these secrets that you have with mom -- you tell Chloe about them?
Lucas: Buddy, I think Chloe's got a few secrets of her own.
Chloe: Now, father, I don't mean to tell you about God or how he works.
Fr. Matt: The phrase is "in mysterious ways."
Chloe: Yes, and I think this counts as one. When Lucas was in that accident, I know that he was dead. He didn't have a pulse. He wasn't breathing. And then when he was okay, it really was like a miracle. And a part of that miracle was him not remembering what his aunt Maggie had told him about me and Daniel.
Fr. Matt: I see.
Chloe: And I think that Maggie realized that, that God had given me a do-over and who was she to interfere with his plans?
Fr. Matt: She sounds like a wise woman.
Chloe: Yeah, I think she realized that knowing what Daniel and I did could only hurt Lucas. And that's why she kept my secret. So now, at last, I finally have some peace of mind.
Daniel: Okay, I'm -- I am so sorry. I am all yours.
Kate: Good. That's good. Because I think you are the exact person I need to talk to about a problem.
Daniel: Well, is it your health?
Kate: No. No. Not my physical health. Do you remember when I told you about members of my family leaning on you?
Kate: Well, I think that I'm going to be asking for some advice from you about a problem.
Kate: I now know for sure that Chloe was having an affair while she was engaged to Lucas. And I'm shattered, Daniel.
Chelsea: Hey, max, it's me. Um, I just got off the phone with the doctor, and it turns out that things are a lot worse than we thought, so...look, I don't want to do this over the phone. I just need to see you as soon as possible. Call me back. Bye.
Rafe: You could have a little faith in me, you know. I've had some great offers since I left the agency.
Arianna: Security guard on the graveyard shift?
Rafe: Uh, how about central office, homeland security?
Arianna: Homeland security has its central office in Salem? You turned it down, didn't you? You meet this awful woman and now you've turned your life upside down for her?
Rafe: You can't call her awful because you've never even met her.
Arianna: Okay, well, I've seen her handiwork. She's taken employed in Washington and turned him into loser in Salem.
Rafe: It's always so fun to hang out with you.
Arianna: Well, somebody has to talk straight with you.
Rafe: How about you? Calling Sami off? Well, it's not because I lost my job.
Arianna: Sami? Does she spell it with an "I"?
Rafe: You're jealous.
Arianna: I mean, does she put the little heart over the "I" instead of the dot?
Rafe: You always have been.
Arianna: That's preposterous.
Rafe: All right, so, I'm gonna tell you what you want to hear. Love you, and nobody's ever gonna take your place in my heart. How's that, huh? Are we cool now?
Chloe: I really thought that Nicole's wedding was beautiful, well, up until it wasn't, but it made me think that it would have been really nice to have you marry me and Lucas.
Fr. Matt: Were you married in a church?
Fr. Matt: Well, then, it could still happen.
Chloe: Yeah, maybe when Philip gets better. Could be something nice for his family, Lucas' mother.
Fr. Matt: Think about it.
Chloe: I will, but what I was going to say was despite the fact that it was beautiful, I was really happy that I was already married to Lucas. Being married -- not that I'm letting myself off the hook, father -- but being married feels like a new beginning. Like it wipes the past away.
Fr. Matt: Well, my organization's big on forgiveness, especially if there's a sincere desire to change.
Chloe: I want that more than anything, and I think -- no, I know that there are some secrets that should be kept, even from your husband.
Daniel: I thought you decided that was an ugly rumor.
Kate: Not anymore. I know for sure that Chloe was whoring around on my son.
Daniel: Hmm. You know, I still can't believe it.
Kate: Really? You can't believe it? When you are the man that she was whoring around with?
Stephanie: I love you, but I can't live like this.
Philip: Stephanie, wait. Stephanie.
Chloe: And I'm happy just the way we are.
Lucas: Are you really?
Kate: She lied. She betrayed my son.
Sami: Were you ever gonna mention that you're in love with someone else?
