Stephanie: Okay, so, we land in Athens and then we hop a commuter to Mykonos. No, that's perfect. Book it. Thanks, Arlene. Hi, bobby. Hey.

Philip: Hey, Steph.

Stephanie: No, let me.

Philip: [Sighs]

Stephanie: Comfy?

Philip: No. I'm sick of this place.

Stephanie: Somebody's in a grumpy mood.

Philip: I'm just anxious to get out of here. That's all. I've got stuff to do.

Stephanie: You're not the only one.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Oh. [Chuckles]

E.J.: I love you so much.

Sami: Of course you love me.

Nicole: E.J. Are you okay? You went pale all of a sudden.

E.J.: Yeah. It's nothing. It's not important anyway. Now, where were we?

Nicole: E.J. If something's bothering you, please tell me what it is.

Sami: Come on, Rafe. E.J. is a -- he's a classic narcissist. My mom's a shrink. She called it, and everyone else agrees. What?

Rafe: I can't do it. I can't live like this.

Sami: So that's it? So you're leaving?

Rafe: Well, I just told you, Sami, okay?

Sami: Come on. What about everything I said to you at the airport? I killed myself to get there so I could stop you. You think I would have done all of that if I -- if I was in love with some other guy?

Rafe: Well, I don't know. Maybe it's a way to get...back to E.J., You know, make him jealous so he leaves his wife and his new kid.

Sami: Are you serious? You know what? If you really think that, then fine. Fine. There's the door. Get out.

Nicole: E.J.

E.J.: Come on. What?

Nicole: You didn't answer my question.

E.J.: Because I don't particularly wish to talk.

Nicole: E.J., come on. Stop.

E.J.: Nicole, let it go, all right? There's nothing to worry about.

Nicole: Okay, when you say that, it makes me worry more. Look, if something's wrong, whatever it is, we can deal with it together.

E.J.: We're not gonna deal with it together because it doesn't concern you. This is none of your business.

Rafe: Fine. I was leaving anyway.

Sami: Wait. Come on. Okay, fine. I-I should have kicked him out before he had the chance to say all those horrible things about you, which aren't true. But, seriously, I only went -- stop it, okay? I only went to the wedding to tell him the truth about Grace, and that is it.

Rafe: All right. So what if E.J. would have turned to you and said, "hey, who cares about Nicole? I want you. I still love you." What would you have done then? Would you have considered it?

Max: Hey, so, uh, you can take off early if you want.

Arianna: Are you sure?

Max: Yeah, yeah. Go for it. It's fine.

Arianna: Thanks, Max.

Max: Mm-hmm. Arianna? Um, Chelsea didn't come back yet, did she?

Arianna: Sorry. I haven't seen her.

Max: Okay. Thank you.

Chelsea: Damn it. What did I click on? Go back. Back. What the... med-school applications. I guess it wouldn't hurt to look. Let's see if I can find something out for Max.

Melanie: Oh, naughty, Chelsea. You are so busted.

E.J.: What? What, do you think that just because we're married we can't have any private thoughts or concerns? Really? Do you want to be one of those pathetic couples that are joined at the hip where we share every single emotion, tell each other where we're going? Sorry. That sounds torturous to me.

Nicole: Are you done?

E.J.: I am done, but are you? I mean, you're about to turn this into some kind of full-blown argument. You seem to be itching for it.

Nicole: The last thing I want is an argument, E.J.

[Cellphone ringing]

E.J.: One second. Sorry. One second. Sorry. I got to take this.

Nicole: Fine. I'll go check on Sydney.

E.J.: All right.

[Ringing continues]

E.J.: Hey. What do you want?

Masi: Where's your father? I've been trying to reach him.

E.J.: I told you. You report to me directly from now on.

Masi: All right. The job your father hired me to do...is about to be finished.

Sami: Are you kidding me? If he had asked me to marry him in the middle of his wedding to another woman, of course I would have. I would have jumped at the chance. You know, I actually had a wedding dress stashed in Grace's diaper bag just in case.

Rafe: I really wish you wouldn't joke right now.

Sami: Your question was a joke, Rafe.

Rafe: You can't deny it. You led E.J. on.

Sami: How did I lead him on? I went to the wedding to tell him the truth about his daughter. And when I found out what happened to Philip, of course I decided not to do it for the obvious reason that I don't want Grace associated with that family in any way.

Rafe: You really just don't get it, do you?

Sami: What?

Rafe: The whole reason that he thinks you're madly in love with him is because you interrupted the wedding.

Sami: Yeah, well, who cares what he thinks?

Rafe: Well, I do, 'cause now it means he's gonna be hanging around, seeing if he can get to you.

Sami: He's a married man now.

Rafe: Oh, right, who just happened to leave his new wife at home so he could come over here and drop off some brochures.

Sami: Well, maybe that was the real reason.

Rafe: Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm. 'Cause the DiMeras, they don't have servants to do that kind of stuff? Maybe he just thought your internet was down. That's why you didn't look at them online.

Sami: Okay, obviously you're gonna think what you want.

Rafe: Come on, Sami. He wouldn't come all the way over here the day after his wedding if he wasn't interested in you. Which leads me back to my original question.

Sami: Okay. The answer is no. I am not in love with E.J. and I don't want to have a relationship with him... 'cause if I did...I wouldn't do this.

Melanie: Hey, Dr. B. What's up?

Dr. Baker: Mandy, right?

Melanie: Melanie.

Dr. Baker: Oh, Melanie. Melanie, could you do me a favor and make sure the floor in room 203 is cleaned up? Mr. Quigley had another accident.

Melanie: Lovely. Of course.

Dr. Baker: Thank you.

Melanie: Oh, uh, before you go. There's something you should know. I didn't want to say anything 'cause I don't want to get anybody in trouble, but I feel like...

Dr. Baker: What is it?

Melanie: [Sighs] How do you say this without sounding like a total tattletale? Okay. I saw one of our trainees doing something completely unethical, and I think I should report it.

Nicole: Oh. Hmm. Sydney DiMera. That's who you are now -- legally and in every other which way. Mm-hmm. That's right. And no one can take you away from me. Nope. [Chuckles] Miss Sydney DiMera! [Imitates crowd cheering] Or better yet... mistress Sydney DiMera. You know, like in those old novels. Yes, young Sydney DiMera, seen attending the cotillion on the arm of a young, handsome suitor. Well, I never had a suitor, and I'm not really sure I know what a cotillion is. [Chuckles] But you'll know 'cause you're gonna have it all, little princess. Yeah. Yeah. [Sighs] Your life's gonna be like a fairy tale. Yeah. And this is where it's all gonna start. Just like this. Chapter one -- once upon a time straight through to happily ever after. And you know what? You want to know something? We're gonna have some wonderful adventures in between. Yes, we are -- all three of us. We're gonna go everywhere together and do everything together. Because that is what a family does, and that's what we will do, yeah. Oh, my goodness. Look who's here. It's Mary Mary, not so contrary.

Mary: Good evening, Mrs. DiMera.

Nicole: Ooh, Punky. Hi. Um, gosh, I do love hearing that. But, um, I thought Mr. DiMera gave you the night off.

Mary: He did, and I booked my regular fishing charter, but they changed times on me.

Nicole: Oh, well, that's too bad.

Mary: Yeah, the boat had already left when I got there. So now there will be no walleyed pike for breakfast. Cook will be very unhappy.

Nicole: Oh, my goodness. Did you hear that, mistress Sydney?

[Sydney crying]

Nicole: Oh, it's very upsetting, I know, that we will not have any walleyed pike. No, you're just gonna have to settle for the smoked sturgeon. Yes. I know that makes you very unhappy. I know, me too.

Mary: I hear the wedding was beautiful.

Nicole: It was. Thank you, Mary. It was the happiest day of my life.

Mary: Would you like me to feed her and put her back down for you, Mrs. DiMera?

Nicole: I think so. I think she needs that.

Mary: Come here. Come here, little Sydney. Come on, honey. We'll go have a bottle. We'll go have a bottle, okay?

Nicole: Here, Mary. You might want to take a squeaky.

[Sydney crying] I know. It's okay, honey. Yeah. I love you.

E.J.: Look, I don't care what my father ordered you to do.

[Static] Hello? Hello?

Masi: Yes, I'm here.

E.J.: Okay. Now, listen -- I don't care what you have planned. We're not taking any more steps until I'm sure you're out of the country and there is no further risk.

Masi: Trust me. I can handle this.

E.J.: Look, you listen to me, all right? Whatever you have planned, stop it.

[Static]

E.J.: Hello? Masi. Hel--

[Cellphone closes]

Masi: You there? Hello? No matter. This time, the job will be completed.

E.J.: Hey.

Nicole: Are you okay?

E.J.: I'm good. Come here. Come on. Where were we?

Nicole: I'm not sure.

E.J.: Okay, well, let's start here. Does that sound familiar?

Philip: I know that look, Steph. Spill it.

Stephanie: You will find out soon enough. Okay, I got your newspaper.

Philip: Thank you.

Stephanie: Your boring financial magazines. Seriously, I don't know how you read this stuff. Anyway, you want to play cards? What is wrong with you?

Philip: I told you, I want to get out of here. I've got stuff to do. I've got to get back to work.

Stephanie: Okay, I know it's frustrating, but getting stressed out is not gonna help. Plus, when the doctor said that you can go home, he was talking about the mansion, not the office.

Philip: Well...I can take care of my enemies just as easily from there.

Dr. Baker: I didn't realize trainees had access to the admissions data.

Chelsea: Look, I can explain. I just --

Dr. Baker: I think you'd better, miss Brady.

[Cellphone ringing]

Max: Hey, Mel.

Melanie: Hey, Max. Uh, sorry. I know you're at work, but I wouldn't have called if it wasn't really important.

Max: Okay, what's going on?

Melanie: Oh, I shouldn't. Chelsea would kill me.

Max: What?

Melanie: Okay, but you didn't hear it from me. Got it?

Max: Will you just tell me already?

Melanie: Okay, I'm at work right now, and I'm watching your girlfriend get grilled by a doctor.

Max: What happened?

Melanie: I'm not totally sure, but I think she might have ruined your chances for Salem U. Med School.

Stephanie: That didn't take long, did it?

Philip: What?

Stephanie: For you to get back into revenge mode. Let's forget about being grateful to be alive and focus on getting back at people, spreading more misery into the world because God knows we don't have enough of that.

Philip: The DiMeras ordered a hit on me. Should I just forgive and forget?

Stephanie: No. What I think you should do is live a long life, get away from this...resentment and anger and this horrible, pointless feuding.

Philip: Stephanie --

Stephanie: And I have a way for you to do that.

Philip: What? How you gonna...

Stephanie: I want you to run away with me.

[Cellphone ringing]

E.J.: Sorry. It's one of my father's associates. I got to take this. Hey. All right, thanks. I'll check it out.

Nicole: Do you have to deal with it?

E.J.: Well...I should. It's kind of important.

Nicole: E.J., let it wait.

E.J.: Hi.

Nicole: Hi.

Rafe: Um...

Sami: What?

Rafe: I'm not gonna be your rebound guy.

Sami: Oh, come on. Rafe, those were his words, not mine.

Rafe: Remember a few months ago when E.J. called, was telling you about Nicole and how serious he was about her?

Sami: Yes. What does that have to do with anything?

Rafe: Well, I was there, and I remember how upset you were.

Sami: I went into witness protection to get away from him.

Rafe: Right, well, it's funny, because he's back in the middle of your life. He's front and center now, isn't he?

Sami: Not because I want him there. He keeps turning up.

Rafe: He's turning up because it seems like you're the one who turned up at the wedding and, well, then he was here today and you invited him in. You guys had a nice, long chat, if I recall.

Sami: I hardly invited him in, and you know it. You were there. What exactly are accusing me of?

Rafe: Well, I just think you like this attention from E.J., his little come-ons. I think you like making him jealous.

Sami: I can't believe you.

Rafe: And the fact that I was here today when he showed up, and we were obviously in the middle of something, well, I think that that -- well, it was just perfect timing, wasn't it?

Sami: If you seriously think that...then you're right. I guess we do have a really big problem.

Chelsea: I'm so sorry, dr. Baker. It's not like I was trying to change anything. I -- you know, it was all written in code anyway. I couldn't decipher it even if I wanted to.

Dr. Baker: So, tell me -- what is so interesting about our med-school admissions?

Chelsea: Well, um, my boyfriend actually applied, and I guess I was just trying to see if --

Dr. Baker: If he had been accepted?

Chelsea: Something like that. Which I didn't, by the way. I didn't see anything. I'm so incredibly sorry. Please, just -- I will do whatever I can to make up for this. Just do not tell my boss.

Dr. Baker: [Sighs] I'll let it slide this time.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Dr. Baker: But I have my eye on you, miss Brady. And if I ever catch you doing anything like this again --

Chelsea: You won't, I swear. Lesson learned.

Dr. Baker: Let's hope.

Chelsea: Hey.

Max: Hi. What was that about?

Chelsea: Um, nothing. It wasn't as bad as it sounded or looked.

Max: Right.

Chelsea: What are -- what are you even doing here? Did, um... did somebody call you? Oh, my God. It was your sister, wasn't it?

Philip: I can't run away with you.

Stephanie: Think of it as r&r -- no fax machines, no conference calls. All you have to do is focus on getting better.

Philip: Is that really what you want? For me to recuperate or...do you want to get me on the other side of the world, half a dozen time zones from Stefano?

Stephanie: Eight, actually.

Philip: That's what I thought.

Stephanie: Philip, we both need this. Look, we can start up a new life in Greece. Maybe open a business, travel, I don't know. Doesn't that sound nice? Just the two of us?

Philip: And never come back to Salem?

Stephanie: If that's what it takes to protect you, then, yes.

Melanie: [Humming] Hello. I know. I'm way too pretty for this job, but what's a girl to do, you know? Thank you.

Philip: Listen to me -- this is not open for discussion.

Melanie: Time for supper, Mr. Kiriakis. Who's down for some...goulash?

[Cellphone ringing]

Stephanie: It's my parents.

Philip: Take it. You should take it. Steph, I'm fine. Take the call.

Melanie: Does she ever smile?

Philip: Not when you're around.

Melanie: Here we go.

Philip: I don't know if I should be eating anything served by you.

Melanie: Oh, Philip. See, you think that's pepper on your goulash, but...it's arsenic.

Philip: Wouldn't surprise me a bit. You did do some time with the DiMeras.

Melanie: Yeah, well, now I'm delivering disgusting food and changing bedpans, so I'd say we both lost.

Philip: But you didn't take a bullet.

Melanie: You're right. I shouldn't joke.

Philip: Hand me that pillow, would you?

Melanie: I really am sorry. I mean, if I'd known the DiMeras would have... I never would have messed with them.

Nicole: You make me so happy. And yet...

E.J.: What?

Nicole: Forget it.

E.J.: No. Come on.

Nicole: No, it's just gonna make you angry.

E.J.: If it's about me unburdening myself, then, yes, it is gonna make me angry. We've already established that.

Nicole: I know, I know, okay? I said forget it.

E.J.: Forget it? Nicole, I'm the one who's forgetting it. You don't seem to be able to forget it.

Nicole: [Sighs] I still -- I -- this just doesn't feel right. I mean, not -- not this. Not...making love to you. Just...that you refuse to -- to even give me a clue what you and your father are doing.

E.J.: Look, you knew what you were getting yourself into when you met me, when you...got involved with this family.

Nicole: Yeah, but I'm not just involved with you or this family anymore. I'm your wife.

E.J.: Yes, okay, you're my wife. Let me tell you something -- when I met you, one of the things that -- that I loved about you the most, one of the things that...drives me the maddest of everything, is you're independent, okay? No guy's gonna tell you what to do.

Nicole: E.J... what does that have to do with explaining why I need a bodyguard? Or why Stefano suddenly left the building or why awful things are happening that are putting my life and our daughter's life in jeopardy? Honey, I need answers, or do you plan on just leaving me in the dark?

E.J.: That's exactly what I plan to do, and, uh...if you can't accept that...then this marriage is gonna fail, Nicole.

Chelsea: And I'm gonna guarantee you it was your sister that reported me in the first place.

Max: You don't know that for sure, Chelse.

Chelsea: I'm gonna kill her.

Max: You're not in any kind of trouble.

Chelsea: No, but I almost was and I definitely got a warning and now you're disappointed in me or whatever.

Max: I'm not disappointed.

Chelsea: Max, it's not like I even hacked into the computer, okay? Those files just popped up. It was totally random.

Max: Okay, can you listen to me for a second? I'm not upset that you looked at the application. I'm upset that you felt like you

had to, okay? Didn't you hear what I had to say earlier? I'm not going anywhere. I'm not leaving Salem. It doesn't matter what happens with med school.

Chelsea: I know that, Max, but still --

Max: No, no, no. I'm not going anywhere, all right? No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I want to be here with you.

Chelsea: I know that, but if your sister seriously deliberately --

Max: Okay, let's not talk about anybody else but us, okay?

Chelsea: But, Max --

Max: You and me. You and me. Stop.

Nicole: That sounds like an ultimatum.

E.J.: It is if you want to look at it like that.

Nicole: So you get to make all the decisions, and I just have to go along with it?

E.J.: Nicole, if you want this marriage to fail, all right, if you want it to fail, then you keep interrogating me about things that don't concern you.

Nicole: [Sighs]

E.J.: What?

Nicole: Imagine if I talked to you like that.

E.J.: Nicole, you have talked to me like that. I'll give you an example just recently. Uh...okay. When I confronted you about your work with those teenagers that tony had to tell me about -- you didn't even tell me about it. When I confronted you about that, you told me -- what was it? "I don't have to, uh, tell you my every move, E.J. I don't need to report to you or anybody else."

Nicole: That is different. My volunteering doesn't affect your life or Sydney's, whereas your business dealings --

E.J.: Hey, thank you. This conversation is over. I'm gonna get some more champagne and check my e-mail.

[Door closes]

Nicole: Something is distracting you, E.J. and it's not just about your business.

Nicole: So, is this where you were tonight, huh? You and Samantha have a nice little visit?

Nicole: Sami. That has to be it. Oh, if E.J. finds out that Sydney is Sami's baby, I... [Sighs] Oh, why are you even talking like that, Nicole? That is never gonna happen. [Sighs]

Sami: Rafe.

Rafe: Yeah?

Sami: What happens now? I mean, are you gonna just... what, just go to New York now?

Rafe: I lost that job when I didn't show up. I told you that.

Sami: And now you regret it. Is that what you're saying?

Rafe: I don't know. I'll talk to you later.

Sami: Yeah.

Rafe: Yeah. Hey, will.

Will: Hey. Mom. W-what just happened?

[Cellphone rings]

Max: Who is it?

Chelsea: I don't know. It's a strange number. Hello? Yeah, this is she. Billie Reed -- she's my mom. What? Oh, my God. Um, is she okay? Well, can I talk to her? Pen. I need a pen.

Max: Yeah, yeah, uh...

Chelsea: Okay, yeah. Kent hospital in Mayfair. Okay, and, um, what's the number? Okay, got it. Thank you. Um, bye.

Max: What? What happened?

Chelsea: Um, my mom was in an accident.

Max: Oh, my God.

Nicole: Pick up, pick up.

[Cellphone rings]

Dr. Baker: What?

Nicole: Well, someone needs to work on their telephone etiquette.

Dr. Baker: I don't have time to chat right now.

Nicole: Well, make time, because I've got something to say, and you need to listen.

E.J.: You rest assured, father, our friend is not gonna be making any moves without our permission. Last thing we need is some finger-pointing at us.

Masi: I want you on this job proprio adesso (right now), huh? It's going down in Salem -- University Hospital.

Melanie: Does it hurt?

Philip: Nah. Hurts like hell.

Melanie: Don't ever scare me like that again, got it, Philip?

Philip: You were worried about me?

Melanie: Are you kidding? When I thought you weren't gonna make it? Oh, look, okay, um...I know we're supposed to hate each other and whatever, but...I think it's really messed up what the DiMeras did to you. And I hope you kick their butts from here to...you know, somewhere really far away.

Philip: Hmm. Not everyone shares that sentiment.

Melanie: Well, I have been on the wrong side of the DiMeras, and I would like nothing more than to see them fry, so... if you have something planned, I think you should go for it.

Going back in?

Stephanie: No. Who am I kidding, Steph? Never gonna change.

Masi: Excellent. The cash and instructions have been left at pier 52. There is a crate on the other side of the stairs, an envelope at the bottom corner of it. No questions. Do exactly as it says.

Melanie: Um, I should probably go. The south wing's gonna start a riot if they don't get their canned peaches.

Philip: Right, you wouldn't want that.

Melanie: Good luck. I hope, um, everyone gets what they deserve.

Philip: Trust me, they will. Thanks for the support. Hey, beautiful.

Melanie: Oh, hey, don't worry. I'm leaving. Bye.

Philip: How you doing?

Stephanie: Good.

Philip: So...are we cool with the whole Greece thing? You okay?

Stephanie: Yes, of course.

Philip: Good. Come here. That's good.

Will: Mom.

Sami: Hey. Will, did you and Mia get your studying done?

Will: Uh, yeah. Yeah, I guess.

Sami: Good. Good.

Will: Mom...why was Rafe here? I thought he was leaving town.

Sami: Oh, well, 'cause he's not, or he didn't.

Will: Well, what, are you guys getting back together or something?

Sami: I don't know.

Rafe: Damn it, Sami.

[Water splashes]

Arianna: Rafael Hernandez, you get over here right now.

Rafe: Arianna.

Arianna: I never think I'd see you again.

Rafe: Kidding me? I never thought I'd see you.

Arianna: Come here.

Dr. Baker: Look, I delivered her baby, and that's as far as it goes. Sami Brady is not my problem.

Nicole: Not yet, but if she and E.J. start talking, if they figure out that Dr. Baker delivered both babies...

Dr. Baker: Look, I have to get back to work.

Nicole: You need to resign from university hospital. You need to leave town before it's too late.

[Computer beeping]

E.J.: Okay. Let's see what you got for me. Father.

[Keyboard clacking]

E.J.: Well... looks like my instincts about baker were right. More than a few skeletons in your closet, I see.

Chelsea: This is my mother we're talking about. I'm not just gonna stay here when I know she needs me there.

Will: Look, I was wrong. My dad's better off with you.

Sami: Rafe's not here. Lucas, I think I scared him away.

Arianna: Looks like I found you again just in the nick of time.
