Brady: You bastard. Forget your men. You're just gonna deal with me right now. You're gonna pay for what you did to me, for what you did to Philip.
E.J.: You should be very careful what you say.
Brady: You know I'm not afraid of you. You know I'm not afraid of your family.
E.J.: You should be.
Brady: Not when we're face-to-face, E.J. You and your father -- you know, you don't have the guts to fight a fair fight.
Brady: You hire other people to do your dirty work. You're gonna hide out in a church while you hire some goon to take a shot at an unarmed, defenseless man. Amongst the many disgusting things that you and your father are, you know what else you are? You're a coward, E.J.!
E.J.: Do know what I'm really looking forward to, Brady? I'm really looking forward to proving you wrong on that very point.
Nicole: How sweet of you, victor, to worry about me like that.
Victor: Oh, I'm not worried about you, Nicole. I'm happy that you made a stupid mistake and that very soon you're going to pay for it... dearly.
Nicole: You know, if I didn't loathe and despise you, I would have invited you to the wedding and told you what Stefano said to me.
Victor: Oh, well, don't keep me in suspense.
Nicole: Okay. He welcomed me into the family. I'm a DiMera now, and they take care of their own... and their enemies.
Stefano: [Exhales sharply]
[Breathing heavily] Alexandra.
Lexie: I'm busy.
Stefano: [Panting] You have to help me.
Lexie: Oh, you need to arrange another murder?
Lexie: Look, I spend the majority of my time trying to save lives. Do you have any idea how it felt trying to save Philip's, knowing my own father tried to have him killed?
Stefano: Look, I did not have --
Lexie: You're talking to me, okay? You're talking to me. I know better than anyone how well you lie.
Lexie: No, stay away from me, okay? Just stay out of my life.
Stefano: Alexandra, I have been poisoned.
Mia: I saw my baby today. I got to hold her. But something wasn't right. I didn't feel anything. It's like she wasn't even mine. Why are you looking at me like that?
Dr. Baker: There's a reason why you didn't feel anything for that baby, and I think it's -- well, there's a good reason. I think it's time you knew it.
Mia: A good reason. What are you talking about?
Dr. Baker: She's not your baby.
Sami: The St. Anne's medal. Will told me that you, um, that you left it for me.
Rafe: Yeah, well, I know how much it means to you.
Sami: It does. It means a lot to me. Um, but then there's you. And, look, I just want to tell you what you mean to me before it's too late.
Rafe: Sorry, Sami... but it already is.
Sami: Are you kidding me?!
Rafe: No, I'm not. What are you doing?
Sami: You make me so mad!
Rafe: All right, fine. Then leave.
Sami: Unbelievable. Do you know how horrible my day was yesterday? After everything I went through, I get home, and I'm feeling terrible. And will shows me the medal that you left for me. And that was, like, the nicest thing. And I call you to thank you for it, and your phone has been disconnected. I left all of those messages for you, and you didn't return any of them. You know [Chuckles] Cold and heartless are two words that come to mind about you right now.
Rafe: Well, did it ever occur to you that maybe I didn't return your phone calls on purpose?
Sami: Yes. Because you were either trying to hurt me or you were just trying to scare me.
Rafe: No, I was trying to avoid having another one of our stupid fights like we're having right now.
Sami: They're only stupid because you don't have a leg to stand on.
Rafe: I don't have a leg to stand on?
Sami: Yeah, I came here. I am right here, right now.
Rafe: Yeah, I see that.
Sami: You didn't return any of my calls, and I still moved heaven and earth to find you.
Rafe: Oh, please. You went to your daddy.
Sami: I went through airport security to be here. I'm not even getting on a plane! When someone does something like that for someone else, the least the other person could do is listen.
Rafe: All right. I'll listen. My plane isn't boarding now, and you're obviously not going anywhere, so I might as well. Let me tell you something. No matter what you say, it's not gonna change anything. I'm still leaving.
Mia: Sydney -- she's not my baby?
Dr. Baker: That's right. You're not emotionally connected to her.
Mia: But I gave birth to her.
Dr. Baker: Trust me, Mia. It's not the same as being the baby's mother.
Mia: I carried her for nine months.
Dr. Baker: I know. I know. But you gave her up as soon as she was born. Mia, mothers take time to bond with their baby, and you never bonded with Sydney. So that's why you didn't feel anything when you held her.
Mia: So it doesn't mean I'm a bad person... or a horrible mother?
Dr. Baker: Mnh-mnh. You know what? I think it means quite the opposite. You are a good person. And when you saw that you couldn't really take care of a baby, you gave her to people who would give her not only love but a wonderful life.
Mia: Yeah. A wonderful life, growing up with a bunch of murderers.
Lexie: Don't play games with me, Stefano.
[Panting] I, uh -- oh. Oh, I need s--
Stefano: Oh, God. I need to sit.
Lexie: I need help. I need help. Okay. Okay, okay.
Stefano: I need to sit.
Lexie: Okay, all right. Get me an orderly, stat. Okay.
Stefano: Oh, God.
Lexie: Just breathe. When did this -- when did this start, hmm?
Stefano: [Panting] Yesterday, I had, uh... a latte and, uh... last night... I, uh... I couldn't breathe right.
Lexie: Okay. Do you know what you were poisoned with?
Stefano: No. No, but...
[Panting] ...I know who did it.
Victor: You really feel empowered, don't you, like you've snared a DiMera. And now you think nobody's ever gonna push you around again.
Nicole: Something like that.
Victor: It never even occurred to you that maybe you were being used.
Nicole: I was not being used.
Victor: No? Your whole wedding was a charade. Your husband and your father-in-law needed an alibi. And they thought so little of you that they used you and your hypocritical white dress to provide them with one.
Nicole: It was a beautiful wedding, and E.J. Is a beautiful man.
Victor: Well, there was one good thing about the wedding. Better than anything I could have said or done, it showed Brady exactly who you are.
Nicole: Oh, my God. Brady.
Victor: Now he knows that you sold yourself to the highest bidder.
Nicole: They'll kill each other. Hey, hey, hey.
Brady: Howdy, Mrs. DiMera. Are you here for backup? 'Cause he could sure use some right now. Let me tell you.
Nicole: Okay, wow. Okay, he obviously wants this. E.J., Just -- let's just leave this alone, you guys, okay? Brady, knock it off.
Brady: Yeah, all right. I don't need this anyway.
Nicole: Okay, E.J., Listen to me. They want a fight. They're taunting us. And if we do fight back, it'll look like they're in the right.
E.J.: Sweetheart, it's not as easy as just that.
Nicole: Yes, it is. I was just in there fencing with victor, and I kept my cool.
E.J.: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Victor's there.
Nicole: Oh, I have a big mouth.
E.J.: No, no, no, darling. It's fine. Listen. I'm gonna go in there and talk to him. I'll be right back, okay? Do me a favor. Just stay here, will you?
Nicole: Whoa, hey, Brady. Look, you need to calm down.
Brady: No, I'm good.
Nicole: Really? 'Cause you're twitching like a live wire.
Brady: Just a little frustrated, you know? I was looking forward to wiping that smug look off the son of a bitch's face.
Nicole: Brady, listen to me.
Brady: Hey, hey.
Nicole: Okay. Uh, that's smart, picking a fight when you can't even handle being touched.
Brady: Mrs. DiMera, have a really good day, okay? It's always good seeing you.
Nicole: Brady, wait, please. Brady, come on. You haven't even told me how this happened to you.
Brady: Oh, you mean that? You really want to know?
Brady: Are you sure? I mean, are you sure that you want to -- that you want to know?
E.J.: Nicole told me you were in here.
E.J.: Look, I thought I, uh -- well, I heard what happened to Philip, and I'm sorry.
Victor: That he survived?
E.J.: No. I hope he makes a full recovery.
Victor: Well, please, don't worry about Philip. Worry about your father.
Rafe: And three, two, and one.
Sami: What? What does that mean?
Rafe: I'm counting down to the tears. They're next, right? You don't get what you want, you get angry, and then you cry.
Sami: You know what? It is getting easier and easier to let you go.
Sami: Is that why you're doing this? Are you intentionally being horrible because you want to make me go away?
Rafe: I'm not being horrible, Sami, okay? I'm just -- I'm pointing out that I know the drill. I know your strategies.
Sami: Fine. You know what? I -- I came here 'cause I wanted to tell you how I feel. But you know what? Never mind. I have changed my mind.
Rafe: Right. Of course you've changed your mind. It's all you ever do, Sami. You change your mind. You live in your own little universe. You do what you think is right when you think it's right.
Sami: Yeah. All I'm doing is trying to do what is right for my family, for my kids.
Rafe: Right. You know what? I'm not saying that it's not well-intentioned. I'm just saying that you and I -- we just don't work.
Sami: How could you say that after everything we've been though?
Rafe: Exactly -- after everything that we have been through. I told you how much Grace means to me and that -- you know, Sami, I laid out a plan as to how to keep her safe. What do you do? You go and tell DiMera that he is the father.
Sami: Wait. Rafe, no, come on, we don't have to fight about that because I didn't do it. I-I didn't tell E.J. Anything.
E.J.: You think I should worry about my father.
Victor: Well, we live in dangerous times.
E.J.: I can tell you that we certainly don't fear you.
Victor: Have you read the classics? There are lessons to be learned. Odysseus conquered troy and killed the Cyclops -- not with power, certainly not with hired assassins and paid-for thugs, but with cunning. Have you spoken to your father lately?
E.J.: Just what exactly do you mean by that?
Victor: Oh, who knows? I'm just a sad old man rambling on. But if you do see him, tell him I said "yiamas."
E.J.: Yiamas. What does "yiamas" mean?
Victor: Our health.
Nicole: Yes, Brady, I want to know.
Brady: No, you -- you're a DiMera now, Nicole. You really don't want to know anything. When E.J. Comes home at night, you do not want to say, "hey, honey, how was your day?" Trust me. You want to live in blissful ignorance from now on. Nicole, you really do not want to know what your new family does. Trust me, it's just gonna interfere with the whole fantasy you have of you and E.J. And your beautiful little girl walking off into the sunset. You don't want to know that that person who is holding your daughter has so much blood on his hands.
[Exhales deeply] Alexandra, you have to call the police.
Lexie: I have to find out what's wrong with you.
Stefano: I told you what happened, all right? Kiriakis poisoned me.
Lexie: The police might ask what you were poisoned with, and I'd have to tell them I don't know.
Stefano: Sweetheart, all these tests, all the blood you took.
Lexie: Yeah, we've ruled out some things, but we haven't been able to zero in on exactly what's wrong. Okay, one more time. Have you had any symptoms besides nausea and lethargy?
Stefano: I get the chills, you know?
Lexie: Okay. And when did the symptoms start?
Stefano: Last night, a few hours after Kiriakis arranged to poison me.
Lexie: Mm. You were ambulatory when you got here.
Stefano: What, you don't believe me?
Lexie: Look, all I'm saying is that if you were poisoned, it's slow-acting, okay? And just so you know, when looking for a diagnosis, the patient saying that they were poisoned isn't immediately accepted as fact.
Stefano: Come on, Alexandra. We both know what happened, huh? Kiriakis did this, and, boy, is he going to pay.
Lexie: You know, I am talking to you only because you are a patient here in this hospital. But if you expect me to get all outraged because you have a tummy ache -- remember, I was with Philip in the operating room. I saw what you did firsthand.
[Sighs] I can't do this. I can't do -- I can't do this. I can't be objective. I-I'm getting you another doctor.
Stefano: Alexandra, what --
Lexie: If you think that what you're doing here -- this war that you're starting -- honors Tony's memory, then you're -- you're more corrupt than I -- I ever imagined.
Stefano: [Sighs] Oh, God.
E.J.: You know, you've had a great shock. I think you should go home and get some rest.
Victor: A little more history -- you know, the Trojan war lasted a little over nine years, but the Greeks won. You know why? Because they never, ever stopped fighting.
E.J.: Or talking. Father, when you get this, call me. Thanks. Who's guarding father? Where is he? Well, I want somebody to find him now!
Nicole: Don't talk about E.J. Like that.
Brady: I don't have to say a word. You and I both know what he is and what he's done.
Nicole: Okay. Brady, I get it. You're bitter. I understand that.
Brady: You know, Nicole, I was there when you lost your baby.
Nicole: Okay, don't talk about that.
Brady: And I saw what you went through, all the desperation and the grief.
Nicole: What is this, payback, Brady? Are you gonna start taunting me for what you know?
Brady: And I wanted to help you because I saw what you were trying to do. You were trying to build a life, a family.
Nicole: And I did.
Brady: Did you really go through all that so you could have a guy like that as the father of your daughter?
Nicole: Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what I did.
Brady: Let me tell you something. All the terrible things that you have ever done and all the sins that I've ever committed -- Philip, as well -- don't even add up to what E.J. Did last night. And you know better than anyone in the world that that man has absolutely no remorse for anything! Well, that's Sydney's father. That is your husband.
Victor: Good. Tell me when it's done.
Lexie: I've assigned you to doctor -- Stefano. Hey, wake up. Stefano. Father?
Rafe: You didn't tell E.J. About Grace.
Sami: I couldn't.
Rafe: Why not?
Sami: Oh, God. It was horrible.
Rafe: Just tell me what happened.
Sami: Look, I just was so sure that I was right and that I had to do it. And I went to his wedding.
Rafe: You were gonna tell him about Grace at his wedding?
Sami: Look, I'm getting to the part where you were right, and I was wrong. E.J. Put a hit out on Philip Kiriakis.
Rafe: I know. It's all over the papers.
Sami: What? It's in the papers that he did it?
Rafe: No. I knew as soon as that DiMera guy died it was only a matter of time before there was retaliation.
Sami: Oh, my God. So I was at the wedding, and that's when everyone found out what had happened. And I just couldn't stop thinking about what you had said about him. And it's not even just that he did it, you know? It was like how he was handling it. He was so... calm and -- and collected. You know, he was able to just put on his tuxedo and show up at a church and kneel before God, knowing full well that he had ordered some person's death. So, anyway, now you can say, "I told you so."
Rafe: And that you didn't listen.
Sami: It's sort of hard to hear. I have two kids with the guy.
Rafe: Well, they won't be like him. They have you.
Sami: Thanks. I needed to hear that. It was just so awful. I'm so glad I found you before it's too late.
Dr. Baker: Mia, when I showed you that stuff about the DiMeras, I was trying to scare you.
Mia: Well, it sure worked.
Dr. Baker: Good... because showing up at the church the way you did was very dangerous. You need to know what can happen to you if you cross them.
Mia: Yeah. And now they have my daughter.
Dr. Baker: Nicole has your daughter. There's a difference. You've seen her with Sydney, right? You said yourself you didn't bond with the baby. Nicole has. You know, Mia, I think -- I think when you made that decision, I think it was an unconscious decision not to connect when you found out you couldn't take care of the baby. It was good for you, and it was good for the baby because now she's with Nicole, the only mother she's ever known.
Mia: And you think when I can take care of a baby, I will connect and be a good mom?
Dr. Baker: Yeah.
Mia: Yeah, I think you're right. See... there's this other baby.
Dr. Baker: What?
Mia: Yeah. And it's not just that she's so cute. There's something about her that makes me want to take care of her.
Dr. Baker: Uh, where did you meet this baby?
Mia: She's the sister of a friend of mine. I should go.
Dr. Baker: Don't you want to tell me about the baby?
Mia: No, that's okay. I've taken up enough of your time. Thank you. And I'm sorry for all the mean things I said about you.
Dr. Baker: [Exhales deeply] Who's your friend, Mia? And who's your friend's sister?
Lexie: Father. Hey, come on. Hey, it's Lexie. Hi. Wake up. Wake up. Come on, wake up.
Stefano: [Exhales sharply] Alexandra, ah.
Lexie: You had me scared there for a second.
Stefano: I don't -- I don't -- I'm so tired.
Lexie: Are you having trouble breathing?
Stefano: No, I'm tired.
[Sighs deeply] Did you identify the poison?
Lexie: No, we have to run more tests. I need you to draw more blood for another tox screen.
Lexie: And another CBC.
Stefano: Dr. Carver.
Stefano: I'm very proud of you. I love you.
[Sighs deeply] Just remember that, you know, in case I don't make it.
Lexie: Look, you are not going to die, all right? I'm not going to let that happen.
Stefano: Well, you're going to try. Please, I have to, uh -- I have to talk to Elvis.
E.J.: I don't care what my father told you. I told you to stay with him. Wait a second. I've got a call on the other line. Yes.
Lexie: It's me -- Lexie.
E.J.: Lexie, is Philip --
Lexie: He's stable. I'm calling about father. He's here at the hospital.
E.J.: What? Is he all right?
Lexie: I don't know yet. He wants to see you.
E.J.: Okay, I'll be right there. Well, what's the matter with him? Lexie. Lexie.
Nicole: There's no point in talking to you.
Brady: We finally agree on something. Good luck with your life, Mrs. DiMera. You're gonna need it.
E.J.: Sweetheart, we have to go to the hospital. They went after father. Please, come on.
Lexie: Yeah, he's been on the I.V. For half an hour. There's been no change.
Lexie: Right. Right. Well, we'll be sending over the second set of results within the hour. Okay, thanks.
E.J.: Lexie, what happened?
Lexie: He's in room 304.
E.J.: What happened?
Lexie: He says that victor poisoned him.
E.J.: Son of a bitch.
Lexie: He wants to see you, probably so you can arrange to have another Kiriakis murdered. And then they can kill one of us, and it can go on and on and on.
E.J.: Okay, shh.
Lexie: Get away from me! Get away from me! Don't talk to me.
E.J.: Look, Lexie --
Nicole: Wait, wait, wait. Just let her calm down, okay?
E.J.: Okay, look. I'm gonna go in and see him, all right, alone.
Lexie: Surprise, surprise. He wants to speak with him privately. Get used to it.
Dr. Baker: Excuse me. What are you doing here? Did Mia call you?
Nicole: Mia was here? What the hell happened now?
E.J.: And then he's bragging about it, just having the time of his life.
Stefano: [Sighs] So victor was gloating, huh?
E.J.: He did this. But he's not gonna get away with it.
Brady: Could I ask a favor? Could you call me when he wakes up, please? Thank you. I appreciate that. Philip is lucky to have you as a nurse. All right, bye-bye. He's sleeping -- apparently peacefully.
[Clears throat] You were out there with Nicole for quite some time.
Brady: Yeah, I guess I was.
Victor: She's married to another man, Brady, a man who ordered Philip's death.
Brady: Here's what you want to know. Just now was a goodbye, across the board, no uncertain terms.
Victor: You did the right thing.
Brady: You and E.J. -- You had a nice little chat, it seemed.
Victor: Yes, we did. He was called away, though. It seemed to me like it was some sort of emergency.
Will: Hey. Hi.
Will: Come on in. You want a soda or something?
Mia: Uh, no. I'm good.
Will: Come on in. Sit down. I'll move this.
Mia: You were playing ball?
Will: Uh, batting practice. Got to work on my stance. You should come watch sometime.
Mia: Oh, wow. Could I? Seeing someone work on getting better at hitting a ball with a stick is, like, my idea of heaven.
Will: You're in a great mood. W-what happened to your arm?
Mia: Oh. It was so stupid. I was at the pier, and I -- I cut myself on a nail.
Will: Did you get stitches?
Mia: No, I got one of those little butterfly things and a tetanus shot. It's been kind of a bad day, will.
Will: Seems like it. So, you came here...
Mia: Oh, yeah. I was wondering if you talked to your mom about me babysitting Grace.
Will: You didn't come here to see me? You came here to see my little sister?
Rafe: I know it was really painful for you to see who E.J. Really is. But I'm glad you did... for Grace's sake.
Sami: For ours, too. Now we don't have to fight about it anymore.
Rafe: No. No, I don't think we need to fight anymore.
Sami: So, what are we doing here? Come on, let's go home. We'll get Grace. We'll do something fun.
Rafe: Whoa, Sami. Sami. I'm not going with you. We don't need to fight anymore because you're going home to your kids, and I'm -- I'm going to new York.
Sami: Rafe, you don't -- you don't have to go anymore.
Rafe: No, I do. Look, this isn't because I didn't agree with you about E.J. Or because you didn't do what I thought you should do. It's just...
Sami: Then why?
Rafe: 'Cause you and I -- we're just -- we don't work together.
Rafe: I want to be a bigger part of your life than you want me to be.
Sami: What? No, that's not true.
Rafe: Neither one of us wants it to be true... but we both know that it is.
Mia: Sure, I came to see Grace. She's, like, the coolest person I know.
Will: That was fun to hear.
Mia: Okay, the coolest girl I know. Anyway, tell your mom I'm available, okay? And I will catch you later.
Will: You know, actually, I was going to grab a bite to eat at the Brady pub. You want to go?
Mia: Nah. I'm not that hungry.
Will: Grace is gonna be there.
Will: All right, yeah. I'll go change, and we can go.
Will: Wait, did I just use my little sister as date bait?
Mia: Um, yeah.
Will: Okay, thought so.
Nicole: She didn't hurt herself, did she?
Dr. Baker: No. No, it was clearly an accident. But while she was here, she did tell me about seeing Sydney, her daughter.
Dr. Baker: And I think you'll be happy to know that she felt no emotional connection to the baby, not at all.
Nicole: She really didn't?
Dr. Baker: Mnh-mnh. And we both know why.
Stefano: So, the son of a bitch was gloating, huh?
E.J.: A lot of old nonsense about the Greeks and the Trojan war.
Stefano: You know, the funny thing is, he doesn't usually gloat.
Stefano: I mean, not unless he's sure of what's going to happen and he knows that I'm going to die.
Nicole: Why don't you keep talking about it, hmm? Not everyone in the hospital knows yet that Sydney is not my daughter.
Dr. Baker: Would you just chill? I've been covering your butt since the wedding on, so you could be a little bit civil to me and maybe register the fact that I pretty much just told you that you pulled it off. You're home free.
Mia: [Laughs] Hi, sweetie. How are you? Can -- can I hold her?
Will: Uh, sure. You remember Mia?
Mia: Oh, of course she does. We're old friends, right? Hi. I think you're even cuter than the last time I saw you.
Will: You sure are crazy about that baby.
Mia: Oh, who wouldn't be?
Will: Apparently her real mom couldn't have been too thrilled with her.
Mia: Don't say that.
Will: What? I just --
Mia: No, giving up this baby must have been the hardest thing she's ever done, ever.
Victor: Since I can't talk about Nicole, how did things go with E.J.?
Brady: [Scoffs] What a jerk.
Victor: Brady, we can fix it so that that, uh, "jerk," as you call him, never smiles again. But you have to be patient and leave it all to me.
E.J.: Look, you're not gonna die. Come on, don't talk like that.
Stefano: You know, Elvis, not talking does not change the facts.
E.J.: Well, look, father, we don't even know if you've been poisoned yet. It could be nothing.
Stefano: Believe me, this is not nothing.
Lexie: No, it's not. I just got your test results back.
Nicole: You think I'm home free, huh?
Dr. Baker: Yeah. Mia's no longer a threat. You're in the clear. Thanks to me. Thanks to me.
Nicole: Right. Thank you.
Dr. Baker: Now what?
Nicole: What is it always? Sami.
Dr. Baker: What about Sami? She hasn't a clue as to what happened.
Nicole: No, she doesn't, and we have to keep it that way, which means we both have to make sure you and Sami never meet again.
E.J.: You proved he was poisoned?
Lexie: I didn't say that. You weren't poisoned. But there is something very seriously wrong with you.
Sami: Come on. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't sure that I want you in my life.
Rafe: Till the next time you don't. Sami, you and me... it just doesn't work.
Attention. Flight 753 for New York's Kennedy airport is now boarding at gate 7B. Please have your boarding passes...
Rafe: Well, that's me. I got to go, all right?
Sami: No. No, Rafe, I'm not letting you go!
Chelsea: If you get accepted there, you're gonna move. So what about us?
Stefano: And you are going to take care of Kiriakis.
Stephanie: I can't take it. I can't take any of this!
Sami: I would do just about anything to stop you from getting on that plane.
