Sami: Listen, your brother will -- he's just mad at his mommy right now, okay? It's nothing to do with you. He is gonna be so thrilled to have you as a baby sister. He's gonna be so happy.

[Exhales deeply]

Rafe: It's kind of weird finding out you got a new sister -- especially finding out like that. I don't blame you for being ticked off. But can I tell you something -- something you need to know about Grace?

Will: Fine. Whatever.

Rafe: That kid needs your mom more than you'll ever know, and...your mom is doing a hell of a good thing.

Will: [Scoffs] Yeah, great. She gets to play mommy again till she finds something else that's more fun.

Rafe: Will, it is not gonna be like that this time.

Will: What do you know?

Rafe: What did -- will?

Sami: This is not exactly how I wanted to introduce you to the world, pumpkin, but you know what? It's gonna work out. Everyone is going to love you as much as I do.

Roman: Hey, kid. Whose baby is it? She's mine, dad.

Hope: What I need to know is how you saw the fight end. Did tony slip and fall on that piece of wood? Or did Philip deliberately push him down onto it?

Nicole: I want to be with E.J.

Hope: He's talking to tony right now.

Nicole: I know.

Hope: Why are you so nervous?

Nicole: I want to be in there. I want to know what Tony's saying.

Hope: Well, you can't, so how about answering my question?

[Monitor beeping]

E.J.: Tony, that looks -- that looks really difficult. You -- you sure you want to do that right now?

Tony: [Thinking] Yes, now, E.J. I want to see the look on your face when you realize Nicole never gave birth to your precious, little baby.

Hope: Nicole, was it an accident, or was it part of the fight?

Nicole: Look, hope, I-I don't want to do this.

Philip: Damn it, Nicole, tell her the truth. Tony fell!

Bo: Not another word.

Nicole: Will everyone please just leave me alone? I need to think.

Bo: You're in enough trouble without trying to influence a witness.

Philip: What the hell is she waiting for -- everyone to kneel down and beg?

Bo: Her fiancé's brother is hanging on by a thread. She's upset.

Philip: Oh, yeah. She loves her best bud -- tony.

Stefano: Nicole... are you going to tell the police what Philip Kiriakis did to my son?

Tony: [Breathing heavily]

E.J.: It's okay. Here you go. You know, from what I understand, it's -- you're gonna be able to speak a little better and move your upper body, when they -- they take that tube out today. It'll discontinue the anesthetic. You sure this [Chuckles] Can't wait a day or so? You'll save yourself a lot of frustration.

Tony: Mnh-mnh.

E.J.: It's okay. All right. Come on. It's your choice. It's your choice. Okay.

Bo: Do not try to influence a witness. Understood?

Stefano: Leave me alone. I know what I'm doing.

Bo: Don't make me do something you'll regret.

Hope: Nicole... we really need an answer.

Philip: And don't be putting some kind of DiMera slant on it either, okay?

Bo: That's enough. Unless you want to wait for her answer in handcuffs in a police car, shut your damn mouth. You got to tell your story. Now it's her turn to tell hers.

Philip: It was an accident. What if she lies? What if she lies? Are you gonna believe her or me?

Bo: Just relax, would you?

Victor: Don't say another word, Philip.

Rafe: Will! Will! Hey, man, would you just wait up a second? Look, I know that this is tough on you, okay? But would you just try and understand what your mother is going through right now?

Will: I understand, okay?

Rafe: You sure?

Will: Yeah. My mom found a new toy, which means the rest of her kids can go take a hike.

Rafe: That is so not true. Listen, your mother loves you. She loves all of her kids. Trust me, in witness protection, you're basically all I heard about.

Will: Couldn't stop thinking about us, huh?

Rafe: That's right.

Will: Then why did she go adopt a new baby? I mean, why couldn't she just hustle back and hug the ones she already has.

Rafe: Listen. You're missing the point, okay? The real reason that she adopted Grace was because of you.

Roman: [Scoffs] What do you mean, this is your baby?

Sami: I adopted her today -- officially.

Roman: No, you didn't. Okay. Well, Sami, where's this coming from?

Sami: Well, when I was in witness protection, the only place that Rafe would let me go is this orphanage.

Roman: Yeah?

Sami: And, um, so I went there, and I met her, and it was love at first sight.

Roman: Sami, you already have three children.

Sami: And I miss them terribly, and that's why I ended up going to the orphanage -- to -- to visit her twice a day sometimes, because I just wanted to be with her. And I-I came home, and I couldn't stop thinking about Grace. I just -- so she's here, dad. This is Grace.

Roman: It's a nice story. It's a very nice story, actually. Now...I want you to tell me the truth.

[Pencil point breaks]

Tony: [Breathing heavily]

E.J.: What's going on here? We can't write with that anymore, can we? It's okay. I've got one. No, I haven't got one. I always have one. It must be in my other jacket. There's a few out on the desk outside. Okay. I'll be right back, okay?

Tony: [Thinking] Your kid's a bastard. Your fiancée is a gold-digging whore. Oh, you have no idea what's coming to you, brother.

Hope: Did Philip get a lawyer yet?

Bo: Yeah. The thing is, I think he's telling the truth. This was an accident.

Hope: Yeah, well, let's just hope that Nicole corroborates his story.

Bo: Yeah.

Stefano: Are you gonna let the man who tried to kill my son get away with it? Tell them that he pushed Antony, for God's sake!

Will: So, what's that supposed to mean? My mom was so crazy about me she had to go and adopt a new baby?

Rafe: Okay, maybe if you just chill out for a second and try and understand what was happening in your mother's life, it would help. You realize that she was terrified that the threats against her were real, that people were actually getting murdered? You know, a lot of nights, your mother would cry herself to sleep because she never thought she was gonna see you again -- or the rest of her family, for that matter. So, Grace comes along. She's something else that your mother can care for and focus on.

Will: So, what, she liked hanging out with the baby?

Rafe: She sacrificed for that baby. She gave that baby everything it could possibly need.

Will: Okay, so she sacrificed. Big deal. What am I supposed to do? "Oh, mom, you're awesome when it comes to little orphan babies."

Rafe: You know, you're supposed to cut your mother some slack, maybe try and see things through her eyes, okay? And at least stop acting like a jerk.

Roman: Where did this baby come from, Sami?

Sami: What, dad? Do I have to explain to you about the birds and the bees?

Roman: No, you have to tell me the truth. Where'd you get the baby?

Sami: I told you already. I adopted her.

Roman: From what orphanage?

Sami: Why does that matter?

Roman: Why can't you answer the question?

Sami: Well, because I don't like the way you're asking it.

Roman: You don't like the way --

Sami: Yeah, dad. You're making it seem like I'm making the whole thing up or something.

Roman: How can you be making it up? You got a baby right here. That much is obvious.

Sami: That's right. She is right here. So you have to just accept it and love her and stop asking so many questions.

Roman: Okay. All right. Fine. Uh, let's say, then -- let's say it doesn't matter how you got her or from what orphanage. What does matter is you can be impulsive and make decisions --

Sami: "Impulsive"? Don't even talk to me about impulsive.

Roman: Oh, right, 'cause you can never be that.

Sami: Dad, I thought this decision through, okay? And I believe that that baby is a gift from God. She is going to be taken care of. I'm going to love her. I'm gonna cherish her.

Roman: Hold on. Hold on right there. Sami, nobody -- nobody -- is saying you won't be a good mother, but you need to think. Is now a good time for you to be adopting?

Sami: Dad, I'm asking you to support me in this and -- and help me. Look, I get it. You're right. It's not the right time. It's not the best time. But I had to do it now, and what's done is done. So I would like you to say hello to the newest member of our family.

Roman: Listen to me, Sami. Like I said, I'm being realistic, and I'm not gonna pretend this is a good idea just to placate you.

Sami: Don't listen to him, Grace.

Roman: This is no time to be expanding your family -- no husband, no job. How in the hell are you gonna manage? How in the hell can you take on more responsibility than you already have?

Stefano: Oh. Do you consider yourself a part of this family or not? Because you should tell them that Philip Kiriakis tried to murder my son.

Lexie: Okay, stop it. Stop it. Just leave her alone. Nicole is worried sick. She witnessed something absolutely horrific, and you're -- you're out here badgering her because you want to, what, get some kind of revenge or something?

Bo: Leave Nicole alone -- last warning.

Stefano: I insist that she tell the truth -- now.

Nicole: I'm too upset to make a statement right now, all right? Just leave me alone!

Hope: You know, if you would just give us a minute of your time, it would all be over for you, Nicole.

Nicole: The last time I talked to you, you arrested me for a murder that I didn't commit. So how badly do you think I want to give you a minute of my time?

Victor: [Sighs] You know, I don't know who screwed up here more -- you or me?

Philip: What did you do?

Victor: I fired you. I harassed you. Hell, I disowned you. No wonder you'd do whatever you could to get those blueprints.

Philip: Well, it had to be done.

Victor: Not this way. [Sighs] Look, for what it's worth, I shouldn't have put that kind of pressure on you. I know you did what you did to try and get back in my good Graces. Unfortunately, I can't control how this turns out.

Philip: All I did was get in a fight. I was a good 10 feet away from him when he fell.

Bo: Let's hope Nicole backs that up -- or tony, if he makes it. Otherwise, the D.A. Will decide your fate.

Will: Cut my mom some slack?

Rafe: Yeah.

Will: I've been doing that for 16 years now.

Rafe: Yeah, well, surprise, surprise. You got issues with your mom.

Will: She does anything she wants anytime.

Rafe: Really?

Will: Yeah.

Rafe: So she wanted to see that guy shoot the mayor right in front of her? She wanted to be locked up in that house, away from her friends, her family, her kids for months?

Will: Well, no.

Rafe: You see, I was your mother's bodyguard 24-7. When she woke up in the morning, she talked about her kids. When she went to bed at night, she talked about her kids. And in between that time, she would worry -- about her kids.

Will: So she goes out and adopts a new one?

Rafe: So what. You think there's not gonna be enough time to worry about you or love you anymore? Come on, man. Your family just expanded. Be happy.

Will: I'm not in the mood.

Rafe: "Not in the mood"? Well, then suck it up, okay? You're 16. It's about time to realize you're not the only person in this world anymore. You know, when I was 16, it -- forget it. Just think about it, all right? Just do the right thing.

Sami: I realize that I will always be your little girl, dad, but that doesn't mean you get to tell me how to live my life. I am a grown woman, and I am fully capable of making my own decisions!

Roman: Keep your voice down.

Sami: Oh, really? You think I care how many people in this restaurant know how much I love this little girl? Dad, that is what love is. I don't care about money or husbands or jobs or whatever else. I love her, and I'm going to take care of her, come hell or high water, and you don't get to tell me what I can and cannot do.

Roman: Sami, I'm worried about you. That's all. I love you, all right? I love you. I'm not trying to hurt you here.

Sami: Well, you are hurting me, dad...because you're making me feel like you don't -- like you don't have faith in me.

Roman: Oh, come on. You know that's not true.

Sami: I have a lot of kids now, dad. [Sniffles] But will is a teenager, and he can practically take care of himself. And I believe that there is enough love in me for all of them.

Roman: I am sure there is, Sami, but the timing is all wrong.

Sami: Dad, if you say that again --

Roman: Sami, you already have two little kids who need you very much.

Caroline: And now she has three who need her. Roman, stop being so hard on Sami.

Philip: Well, look, I know I went after tony -- exactly what you told me not to do. So if you want to give me hell, go for it.

Victor: I should. I specifically told you not to go up against tony DiMera.

Philip: And I did it anyway.

Victor: Yes. And in case you forgot what I said earlier, you did it because I was pushing you. So I'm the one that's to blame here, and I'm sorry.

Stefano: Why should we give Nicole time?

Hope: 'Cause obviously she needs it.

Stefano: I want answers. I want them now. My son is lying in this hospital because of Philip Kiriakis.

Hope: Or because he fell.

Stefano: Look, I want to know -- is he going to be charged with this attempted murder, or is he gonna be let scot-free?

Lexie: Father, please, just stop.

Stefano: Meanwhile, my soon-to-be daughter-in-law does nothing.

Hope: We'll get her statement when she's ready. You know, I'm curious, though. Shouldn't you be more upset about tony? Why all this focus on blaming Philip?

Stefano: Why? Why? Because I am upset about Antony. Look, I know that we've had our differences in the past, but he is my son. He's a DiMera. And that -- she had better do the right thing.

[Cellphone rings]

Hope: Hello?

Lexie: Nicole... uh, listen. Try not to let what my father said get to you. He's -- he's upset, and sometimes he just picks on the easiest target.

Nicole: That's fine. I'm -- I'm okay. Look, Lexie, um, can you tell me something? Do you think Tony's gonna live through this?

Lexie: The damage to his chest was, uh, massive. His chances -- they're not good. And I think he knows that. That's why he was so intent on seeing E.J. I think that, uh, he wants to clear the air with him about something. He's trying to write it out for him now. Um, excuse me.

Nicole: Sure.

E.J.: Come on. Listen. You're gonna come back to the house. I spoke to Anna. She's on her way down here. She'll take good care of you. If she can't take care of you, I'll take care of you. If I can't take care of you, Nicole will take care of you. Please. Can we just -- hey, can we just forget about this? Come on. Please. Let's just forget about this. You're getting yourself upset.

[Monitor beeping rapidly]

Tony: [Exhales sharply]

Nicole: H-how is he?

E.J.: He keeps getting himself more and more upset.

Nicole: Does he?

E.J.: Hey, please. Come on, tony. You're getting very frustrated. I don't want you to get frustrated. Just breathe. Come on. Relax.

Nicole: Has he mentioned anything to you yet?

Lexie: What the hell is going on here?

Caroline: Oh! [Chuckles] Hello, Grace. Welcome to the Brady family. And everything's gonna be just fine. Don't listen to your grandpa. He's just grumpy today.

Roman: Ma!

Caroline: No, but when we adopted Max and Frankie, was the timing good? No. But it was the right thing to do, and we did it from our hearts.

Roman: Yes, I know, but...

Caroline: It worked out. It was hard. Times were hard. Money was short. We worked harder. And there was plenty of love to go around, so we did fine.

Roman: Yes, you did. But you also had pop. Sami's alone.

Sami: Dad! You don't have to say it like I'm such a loser, that I'm never gonna meet anyone.

Roman: I never even came close to saying that.

Sami: [Exhales deeply] Okay. Dad, please try to give me a little bit of credit.

Roman: Okay. Okay. Speaking of credit, there is a recession going on, too, you know?

Caroline: There are always tough times, roman.

Sami: And I am going into this with my eyes open. For the record, dad, I am not asking your permission. It's a done deal.

Roman: Just out of curiosity, have your other kids met Grace?

Sami: No. Allie and Johnny are gonna meet her any minute.

Roman: How about will? Has he seen her? I guess that didn't go so well, huh?

Rafe: So... what do you think, will?

Will: That you don't get it.

Rafe: What?

Will: [Scoffs] Another kid on top of two toddlers? Are you serious? My mom will go nuts in like a week. And then what? My -- my family's not screwed up enough already?

Rafe: Well, see, actually, I think if anyone can handle it, your mother can.

Will: [Chuckles] Check it out -- she's mother earth now.

Rafe: Yeah, why not?

Will: [Scoffs] Right.

Rafe: Besides... it's where you come in, my man.

Will: Right. I'll have to help out all the time, stop thinking about myself.

Rafe: That's right.

Will: You know, I-I bet Johnny and Allie won't like this one bit, either.

Rafe: Well, actually, I think they're gonna love it. And then, see, Grace, well... she's got someone new to play with.

Will: Man, you -- you sure are Mr. Positive.

Rafe: Try it sometime.

Will: Uh, okay, so if I say that it's cool with me...

Rafe: That would make your mother very happy. But just -- just think about it, man. I mean, Grace -- how lucky is she to have Sami for a mother?

[Monitor beeping rapidly]

Lexie: What is the matter with you, Nicole? I specifically said no one...

E.J.: Let's go. Please, darling.

Lexie: No, no, no, no. It's all right. It's okay, tony. It's okay. Calm down. Calm down. It's okay. It's okay.

Nicole: So, how is he? Is it his heart?

E.J.: Uh, yeah. He's really upset about something. He keeps trying to tell me what it is, but he's having real difficulty writing it down.

Nicole: Has he given you any hints?

E.J.: No. I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with either my father or Philip.

Hope: Uh, excuse me, Nicole. We really need to get your statement now. It's starting to complicate the investigation.

E.J.: You didn't give your statement?

Nicole: I wanted you to be with me.

Hope: But you're just a witness.

E.J.: It's all right, sweetheart. [Smooches] Give your statement, okay? I'll go and talk to tony. He can tell me whatever he wants to tell me. I'm sure it's not gonna take long.

Nicole: Right. Okay. Food.

Caroline: You know, Kimberly and Kayla were very close in age.

Roman: And they fought all the time.

Caroline: Oh, Mr. Negative, they didn't fight all the time. They had fun. They played, they ran, and we all loved each other like crazy.

Sami: Yeah, and I bet Allie is gonna have so much fun playing with Grace.

Caroline: Yeah. Maybe she'll dress her up as a little princess.

Sami: Oh, you can be sure that she will do that. Uh, I actually have to get home. I have to, um, feed Grace.

Caroline: Oh, well, I'll volunteer. I'll -- I'll mix the formula. Where is it?

Sami: I actually have to go and buy some formula. I don't have any here. So I should get going.

Caroline: Oh, okay, honey. Well, I'm so glad you came by, and -- and congratulations, Sami. She's really beautiful. And congratulations to you, granddad. You're a lucky guy, you know? Count your blessings.

Roman: Yes, mom. Whatever you say, mom.

Caroline: Well, I got to go check on the vegetables.

Sami: Hey, um, grandma, thank you. Thank you for being you.

Caroline: Aw, sweetheart. Don't let him out of here unless he promises to be on board, all right?

Philip: Well, I don't know why you're the one apologizing. I was the C.E.O. In charge of protecting our computers, and the DiMeras wiped them clean. I would have fired me, too.

Victor: Let's not concentrate on that right now, okay? Let's make sure you don't get charged with some kind of a felony.

Stefano: Yes, victor, I'm sure that is your first priority -- to make sure that your son does not get charged by the police in any crime. Although in the long run, I don't think it's the authorities that you should worry about.

Hope: Look, Nicole, I know you're upset. I know you're worried about tony. You're stressed. But we really need to get this settled. What happened down at the pier?

Nicole: I, uh -- when I arrived, uh, I heard some -- some voices, and, uh, I saw Philip and tony arguing.

Bo: Excuse me. I need to talk to you a second.

Hope: Hold that thought. I'll be right back.

Nicole: Oh, I swear to God, tony, you better not say anything to E.J.

Lexie: Tony, you can't keep doing this to yourself. Nothing is as important as your health, and that includes anything you might want to tell E.J. No, no, no. No more writing. It elevates your heart rate. Look, I'm -- I'm going to go consult with Dr. Jonas, and I'll be right back. Stay calm. Please. [Smooches]

E.J.: [Sniffles] [Exhales deeply] Tony -- [Sniffles, exhales deeply] Oh, come on. She told you not to exert yourself, all right?

Tony: [Exhales sharply]

E.J.: Okay. All right. Listen. I'll do something for you. I'll get you the pen and the paper -- okay? -- If you promise to relax. Will you do that, please? All right. Just relax. Just do me a favor. Just -- come on. Relax. All right?

Will: Oh, fine. I'll -- I'll step up a little and try and help my mom out.

Rafe: All right.

Will: But there's no way I'm accepting that kid as my sister.

Rafe: Well, aren't you special?

Will: Hey, if you're so close with that baby, why don't you take care of it?

Rafe: I have. And I am here to tell you that Grace is amazing, which hopefully you'll soon learn for yourself.

Will: [Scoffs] Yeah, I'm sure.

Rafe: Well, of course, you're gonna have to pry her out of your mom's arms. I'll tell you, she is crazy about that little girl.

Will: Yeah, give it six months. I guarantee you, that kid will end up alone, just like me.

Rafe: Wow. Why, uh, why don't you just get over yourself, man? I mean, really. You kidding me? So you had a rough childhood. So what? "Wah wah."

Will: Hey, maybe you and my mom are tight, but that doesn't mean I have to take lectures from you.

Rafe: No, you're right. You don't. You don't at all. But, really, I mean, you want to keep on reliving the old days, carrying on about how your mom wasn't good enough or wasn't there enough or didn't care enough? Or you want to try something new? Get to know your new little sister, see how much your mom's changed. Your choice, my man. Think about it, huh? Just wrap your head around it.

Sami: Okay, dad, so, are you gonna be happy for me, happy for Grace?

Roman: You know I will. I said she's cute. Hell, she's beautiful. She even looks a little bit like you.

Sami: Uh, well, she's certainly more mellow than I ever was, and she already sleeps through the night. She, um -- even when she's crying, she doesn't want to be crying. She's easy to calm down.

Roman: Listen to me here. I said what I had to say, and I meant that. But all concerns aside, I mean this, too. I am very proud of you... for bringing this little girl into your heart and into your life.

Sami: Thanks, dad.

Roman: You are my daughter, and I love you, no matter what comes along.

Sami: [Sighs] Something usually does, doesn't it?

Roman: You got that right. And hopefully someday soon I'll be saying adopting this little girl was the best idea you ever had.

Sami: It is, dad.

Caroline: Oh, good. Good. You're still here. That means I get to take another peek. Oh, she is precious. You know, she's such a good little girl.

Sami: I know.

Caroline: Not a peep out of her. Well, roman, are you on board?

Roman: Yes, ma, I'm on board.

Caroline: Oh. But are you in love?

Roman: Ma, I just met her.

Caroline: [Laughs] Well, you will be.

Roman: Probably.

Caroline: [Smooches]

Roman: I am on board. Okay? And, like grandma said, if you need anything, I'm here. She's here. We're all in this together.

Sami: Thanks, dad. You have no idea how much that means to me.

Roman: I love you, sweetheart. I love you.

Tony: [Breathing heavily]

E.J.: Come on, tony. What is it? Talk to me. What is it you're trying to write, hmm? What is it? Whatever it is, is it something about Philip?

[Pen drops]

Tony: [Breathing heavily]

Victor: You know, I hope what I just heard wasn't some kind of threat.

Stefano: Amazing, isn't it, victor? For decades, we've managed to live and work in the same town. And sometimes we almost, uh, joined forces.

Victor: Yes, we did.

Stefano: And then... he took over titan. He couldn't take the pressure. Boom. The gloves came off.

Philip: You son of a --

Victor: That's enough, Philip.

Stefano: See? Temper, temper, temper. See, now there's that temper again. You know, for a moment there, I thought you were gonna try to kill me.

Hope: See you later. Be careful driving. Okay, uh, as you were saying -- you arrived at the pier, you heard voices, and you saw Philip and tony arguing. Then what?

Nicole: I'm sorry, but I can't tell you.

E.J.: Look, tony, I know you don't want to hear this, but I have to tell you this. [Exhales deeply] You have to let father in. You let Nicole in here. Tony --

[Flatline]

E.J.: Oh, my God! Tony! Tony! Help! Tony!

What's going on?

E.J.: I-I don't know.

Code blue! Room 472!

Rafe: So, your dad was cool with the baby?

Yeah. Yeah. He and my grandma -- they bought the whole orphanage story. They were great.

Rafe: God, that is terrific.

Sami: Yeah. The only problem was will. He was his whole "my mother can do no right" self.

Rafe: Well, he's 16.

Sami: Speaking of my 16-year-old son -- hey. Did you, uh, get lunch?

Will: Yeah.

Sami: I don't want you wasting away.

Will: Mom, look, uh, I want everything to be cool with us.

Sami: Okay.

Will: I mean, you got this baby -- what's her name?

Sami: Grace. You know, "will & Grace."

Will: [Chuckles] Right. And, anyway, I guess I want to try and help out... see how it goes.

Sami: You are the best son a mother could ask for.

Will: Oh, God, mom, you cry over anything.

Sami: No. Not anything. Just my kids. [Sniffling]

Will: All right. Well, I'll be home for dinner.

Sami: O-okay. But you said you were gon-- Sami, shut up. Oh! He forgot his jacket.

Rafe: Hey.

Sami: Will -- he told me was staying with his grandma, and now he's gonna come home. God, I can't believe the turnaround. I wonder what happened.

Rafe: Who knows? Kids -- they change their minds, huh?

Lexie: E.J., You have to leave. How long has it been?

Just a few seconds.

Lexie: Charge at 200.

Charging at 200.

E.J.: "B"? [Sniffles] What on earth? "B"?

Victor: Stefano, I'm sorry for what happened to tony. It was a tragedy. And as a father, I deeply sympathize. But, please, no threats.

Stefano: I don't issue threats. Victor, you know that. All I'm saying is... that if your son... is responsible for my son's death... well, then, you know... [Chuckles] ...You can expect me to do what any father would do.

Hope: What do you mean, you can't tell me? You can't tell me if it was an accident or not? Why not?

Nicole: Because I -- I just have to know if Tony's gonna be okay first.

[Flatline]

Lexie: Let's check his rhythm.

Asystole. No pulse. Resuming CPR.

Lexie: No. Um, I'm calling it.

I'm very sorry, Dr. Carver.

Lexie: Please note the time in his chart. [Cries softly] [Sniffles]

Nicole: Sweetheart. Is tony...

E.J.: [Exhales deeply] He had a heart attack.
