Chloe: Daniel. What are you doing here? How did you unlock the door?

Daniel: Uh...spare key. I-I knocked, but --

Chloe: You know what? You should go. Lucas is gonna be here any minute.

Daniel: Yeah, well, I'm supposed to deliver something.

Chloe: Not now, Daniel. Please, okay? Just leave!

Daniel: [Groans]

Brady: Grandfather.

Victor: Ah, Brady.

Brady: What, are you saving on electricity or...

Victor: [Chuckles] No, the darkness helps me concentrate.

Brady: So, what's going on? Uh, sounded pretty mysterious on the phone, all this talk about the future of Titan. How does that involve me?

Nicole: Oh, my God. You.

Dr. Baker: I need to know if you got the money.

E.J.: Darling, who's at the door?

Nicole: I am working on it. Three-quarters of a million dollars is kind of a lot of cash to raise. I need a little more time.

Dr. Baker: How much is a little?

Nicole: I don't know. I'll give you an answer tomorrow.

Dr. Baker: That's not good enough.

E.J.: I couldn't find any strawberry ice cream, so I got you some chocolate chip. I hope that's okay. Dr. Baker. What's going on? Is everything all right?

Nicole: Of course everything's fine. I-I asked Dr. Baker to come.

E.J.: Why?

Nicole: Because I knew you had concerns about him being my O.B.

E.J.: But, darling, we discussed this. We decided that as -- you were so confident in his abilities, we put my concerns to one side. I mean that will all due respect, Dr. Baker. I'm sure you're a first-rate doctor. I had some, uh, reservations about your clinic. I mean, it's in the middle of nowhere for one, and the medical facilities don't seem to be first-rate.

Nicole: Which is exactly why I asked him to come. I mean, remember what we talked about earlier? How he has privileges at other hospitals? And, look, he makes house calls. It's great. Hey, Dr. Baker, why don't you come on in? Please.

E.J.: Yeah, come on in. Why not? [Clears throat] Sweetheart, am I missing something? I really don't understand and what exactly it is you're trying to prove.

Nicole: That, uh, I'm in perfectly good hands with Dr. Baker, right, doctor?

Chloe: How's your finger?

Daniel: Throbbing.

Chloe: You just -- you caught me off guard.

Daniel: Really?

Chloe: I shouldn't have slammed the door without making sure your finger wasn't in it. I hope it's nothing serious.

Daniel: Well...probably won't need to be amputated. I certainly won't be doing any heart surgery soon, so...

Chloe: Oh, my God. I feel terrible. I'm so sorry.

Daniel my biggest problem right now is just trying to wrap this damn thing one-handed.

Chloe: Well, let me help. Here.

Daniel: Just wrap that.

Dr. Baker: I'm very protective of my practice, and don't feel the need to defend it or myself to you.

Nicole: No, of course not. We wouldn't -- we wouldn't ask you to do that.

Dr. Baker: I came here to speak to Nicole in private.

E.J.: "In private." Why?

Nicole: Don't worry, E.J. Everything's fine. The baby is fine, okay?

E.J.: Well, if that's the case, why does he want to talk to you?

Nicole: Please, listen, I don't want you to worry, okay? Stop worrying. He's just gonna check me out for a few minutes, and then he'll talk to you.

Dr. Baker: Right.

Nicole: Well, we'll just, uh, head on upstairs then, okay?

E.J.: Okay.

Dr. Baker: Lead the way.

E.J.: Don't be too long. This ice cream's melting.

Nicole: [Chuckles]

Chelsea: So, lucky for us, Theo and I ran into Max at the pier.

Kate: That was lucky.

Chelsea: It was lucky because he was just about to throw good old Charlie into the Salem river.

Kate: What? Who?

Max: It's my toy dog from childhood.

Kate: And you wanted to part with him because...

Chelsea: Well, the funny thing is he didn't. Well, he actually did. He ended up giving Charlie to Theo, which is awesome and totally cool because Theo and Charlie are now inseparable.

Kate: Oh. Happy ending, then, huh?

Chelsea: Yeah. You know, Max can be a good guy if he sets his mind to it.

Max: I'm sorry. Was there a compliment in there somewhere?

Chelsea: I'm just saying that Theo wouldn't be so in love with you if you weren't a good guy. He's very, very, very discriminating.

Kate: And so are you, my dear.

Chelsea: Anyway, so, uh, it was a good day. Um, and now we get to see you, and you're doing good, so...

Kate: I am. I'm feeling so much better.

Chelsea: Good. Is there anything that we can get you? Do you need anything?

Kate: Um actually, you know what I could really use is some ice chips. My throat is so dry.

Max: I'll get them. I'll go get them.

Kate: The nurse will help you.

Max: No, it's fine. I got it. I'll be back. [Door closes]

Kate: So, now it's just you and me.

Chelsea: What?

Kate: What is up with you and Max?

Victor: Everything's fine with the company. We're thriving, in fact. Which is quite an accomplishment considering the state of the economy.

Brady: Yes. Then why did you call me about its future, and why isn't Philip here?

Victor: Well, I wanted to discuss this with you in private.

Brady: Okay.

Victor: I'd like you to come back to work for me, Brady. For Titan.

Chloe: Why are you even here?

Daniel: I'm -- I did a favor for Kate. I just told you that earlier.

Chloe: I don't believe you.

Daniel: You know what? I-I need to go now.

Chloe: Did you come here to check up on me?

Daniel: I'm sorry. What?

Chloe: Well, because I didn't get an okay from you before leaving the hospital. You know, without waiting for God to give me the green light.

Daniel: Are you finished?

Chloe: No.

Daniel: Well, I am.

Chloe: I have news for you, Daniel. You're not my doctor anymore.

Daniel: Well, you're not my patient.

Chloe: So I don't have to go to you for every little thing. You know what? Just leave me alone.

Daniel: I'm trying to leave you alone.

Lucas: What's going on in here?

Chloe: Lucas, what happened? What took you so long?

Lucas: Damn tow truck took two hours.

Chloe: They told you 30 minutes.

Lucas: I know. They lied. Shocking, huh? What brings you to the island, Daniel? Everything okay with my Mom?

Daniel: Yes, Kate's doing well. I, uh -- I came for another reason.

Chelsea: Nothing is going on between Max and me. I mean, we ran into each other at the pier. He offered to come here with me to see you, so he did. What? Why are you looking at me like that?

Kate: Come on. When I went into surgery, you were still having a tough time with what happened between Daniel and me. Now I come out of the surgery and you and Max are together with this lovely rapport, and I'm thinking, "what happened? Did I miss the memo?"

Chelsea: Uh, no memo. Once again, I repeat, there is nothing going on between me and Max. I mean, yeah, we've been hanging out a little more than usual and spending more time together, but...doesn't mean anything. You know, it's been nice. It's been fun. But, I mean, that's it. It means nothing. We're friends, and it's all about keeping each other company. What?

Kate: [Laughs] Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.

Brady: You're offering me a job.

Victor: Why are you surprised? Not as if you hadn't worked for me before. Quite successfully, as a matter of fact. You hesitate.

Brady: I'm just trying to wrap my head around it. That's all.

Victor: Is that such a challenge?

Brady: [Sighs] Truthfully, I don't know why you would put me in charge of anything right now. I mean, I am right out of rehab.

Victor: Are you clean?

Brady: Yeah.

Victor: You intend to remain clean?

Brady: Of course I do.

Victor: That's all I care about. Listen, don't sell yourself short, Brady. Your recovery is quite an accomplishment. I think your experience will make you an even better addition to the company.

Brady: Well, I don't even know what job you're offering me.

Victor: Let's say Vice C.E.O. How does that sound? We'll iron out the details later, but guarantee you, you won't be disappointed with the job or the salary. So, are you on board?

Dr. Baker: I'm not in the mood for games, Miss Walker.

Nicole: How many times do I have to tell you? I need time. What, do you think I just have $750,000 lying around?

Dr. Baker: Oh, come now.

Nicole: "Come now" what?

Dr. Baker: Look at this place. It's like a museum. The artwork alone must be worth millions.

Nicole: Okay, look, you need to understand something, okay? Look, it is true that E.J. will do everything in his power to make sure that his child-to-be is taken care of. We're not married. We're not even engaged. I don't have a bank account. Here's nothing. All I get is an allowance. That's it.

Dr. Baker: Well, then, we have nothing more to discuss.

Nicole: Dr. Baker, please, I am begging you. Just hear me out.

Dr. Baker: Not if you can't come up with the money.

Nicole: Not everything is about money. What about my life? What about my heart? Don't you have any compassion? Don't you care? Don't you care...that I still think about the little girl that I lost every minute of every day? I even dream about her, and whenever I see a little girl and her mother...I feel this emptiness inside -- an actual, physical ache. Look...I want to be a mother more than anything. I deserve to be a mother. You can buy me that time. Just until I find a baby for myself and E.J.

Dr. Baker: I'm sorry, Miss Walker. You'll have to find someone else to play this charade with you.

Nicole: Dr. Baker, wait.

Dr. Baker: It is over, Nicole. I have wasted far too much time as it is.

Nicole: I will get you your money.

Dr. Baker: What do you take me for, an idiot? You t ink I can't see you're stringing me along.

Nicole: No, no, no. I'm not, I swear. And of course you're not an idiot. You're- you're a compassionate man and a wonderful doctor. Wait, please. I will get you your money tomorrow. My future is in your hands. If you don't help me, I don't know what I'll do.

Dr. Baker: The game ends tomorrow, Nicole. If you don't have the money by then, you're on your own.

Nicole: Thank you, Dr. Baker. You have no idea what this means to me. E.J. uh, I was, um -- I was just gonna walk Dr. Baker to the door.

E.J.: Oh, wait a second. I thought that you were gonna speak to me.

Nicole: He was. He was, but, um...

E.J.: Are you all right? You look very upset.

Brady: I'm touched, grandfather, that you would have this kind of faith in me. I'm not sure I deserve this kind of trust.

Victor: I didn't come to this decision lightly, Brady. I know what you've been through. And I've watched how you've been handling yourself since you got out of rehab. You have a maturity that impresses me a great deal.

Brady: What about Philip? How's he gonna feel about me coming on board?

Victor: Philip knows what's good for the company. And right now, you're what's good for the company. So, come on. I'll show you your office.

Brady: Not just yet.

Victor: What?

Brady: Well, I'm not going to take my decision lightly, either, so I will think about your offer and I will get back to you. Take care.

Chelsea: I am not protesting. I am merely stating the truth. Max is a great guy, but we're just friends. You're reading way too much into everything

Kate: I just want you to be careful.

Chelsea: Max and I, we're buddies. I mean, we laugh together. We joke, but that's it. Period.

Kate: Okay. But I don't want to see you hurt again.

[Knock on door]

Max: One order of ice chips.

Kate: Oh, thank you.

Max: Mm-hmm. Here you go.

Kate: Thanks.

Max: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: This is a -- this is a gift from Kate to Chloe.

Lucas: And she asked you to deliver it?

Daniel: She did. She called it a, uh -- a life gift. Said it promises to bring you two good luck throughout your -- throughout your marriage.

Lucas: I see.

Daniel: So, uh...well, enjoy.

Chloe: Thank you.

Lucas: Yeah, yeah. Thanks, Daniel. Appreciate it.

Daniel: Yeah, no worries. All right, well, you, uh, take care, both of you.

Lucas: Okay.

Daniel: Mnh-mnh. Mnh-mnh.

Chloe: That was so sweet of your mom to have this hand-delivered to me. I wonder what it is.

Lucas: Chloe.

Chloe: Yeah?

Lucas: What's going on between you and Daniel?

Chloe: What do you mean?

Lucas: Well, you wouldn't even look at him. You don't like him, do you?

Chloe: What difference does it make if I like Daniel or not? He's our mother's doctor. I have enormous respect for him.

Lucas: I don't know. I just sensed a little tension between you two.

Chloe: What? No.

Lucas: I don't know. Things were pretty awkward.

Chloe: Okay, yeah, the truth is...he's upset with me.

Lucas: Why?

Chloe: For not checking in with him before I left the hospital.

Lucas: Why would that upset him?

Chloe: Well, 'cause, frankly, he's kind of a prima Donna, possessive doctor behavior, you know? I'm his patient, so God forbid I make a move without him knowing about it. It's kind of creepy, actually.

Lucas: And that's the only reason?

Chloe: You know, can we stop talking about Daniel? He dropped off the gift. He's gone. Let's forget about it.

Lucas: Okay. All right, forgotten. Let's open it. Check it out.

Chloe: Oh, my God. Oh, my God, Lucas.

Lucas: Beautiful, huh? I thought it might be the necklace.

Chloe: Well, how? How did you know?

Lucas: My Father gave it to my Mother on Christmas Eve a long time ago.

Chloe: So it was Kate's and she's passing it on to me?

Lucas: Obviously, yeah.

Chloe: It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I can't believe she would give this to me.

Lucas: It is beautiful. Go ahead, try it on. Let's see if it fits.

Chloe: I can't.

Lucas: Chloe, you can

Chloe: No, Lucas, I'm sorry, but I can't accept this. We have to give this back.

Chelsea: Thank you for coming with me.

Max: Oh, there's no need to thank me. You know, I wanted to come down here, and I'm glad Kate's okay.

Chelsea: Me too. I should...go.

Max: Oh, so you're taking off.

Chelsea: Ye, you know, I got to hit the stores the 11th-hour Christmas shopping.

Max: Okay. Right.

Chelsea: What?

Max: I thought we were gonna have coffee.

Chelsea: Oh, right. I forgot about that.

Max: Right. Well, you know, the stores don't close for a couple of hours. We can always go to the pub and -- and then you can do your shopping afterwards. There's stores right there.

Chelsea: I really shouldn't.

Max: You're honestly gonna make me sit at a table by myself all alone? Really?

Chelsea: All right, that would be kind of tragic.

Max: Okay, see? Let's just do that. I'll make a couple of lattes or something -- lukewarm 'cause then you can chug them and then bounce.

Chelsea: Max.

Max: What? We'll talk politics. Okay, we won't talk politics. We'll do so-- we won't talk-- we'll sit there and -- and mime.

Chelsea: Fine.

Max: Okay, great.

Chelsea: One cup of coffee.

Max: Lukewarm.

Chelsea: Okay.

Max: That's fine.

Nicole: Everything's fine, E.J. I'm just a little emotional. What else is new, right?

E.J.: So, um, how was your checkup?

Dr. Baker: We'll know more tomorrow. As for right now, Mr. DiMera, you have nothing to worry about. You two, take care. I'll let myself out.

E.J.: So, what did he mean by "we'll know more tomorrow"?

Nicole: Well, he's just giving us another day to make sure we want him as our O.B.

E.J.: What?

Nicole: Well, he wants you to be 100% certain that he's the right doctor for me.

E.J.: Nicole, I thought we already resolved this, darling, okay? I want whatever makes you happy, whatever makes you comfortable.

Nicole: Thank you. That's sweet.

E.J.: I am.

Nicole: [Chuckles] You are.

E.J.: I know.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Uh, oh. Uh, oh. I'm feeling an urge. Oh, yeah. It's a big one. It's a craving. [Chuckles]

E.J.: I don't even want to ask.

Nicole: [Laughs]

E.J.: What are you craving?

Nicole: A hamburger and French fries. Isn't it boring, huh?

E.J.: Oh, yeah, no.

Nicole: It's very powerful, though, actually. Do you think maybe that you can go down to the Brady Pub and, um, get me some takeout?

E.J.: Sure, no problem. Anything else I can get you? [Laughs]

Nicole: Was that too demanding? I mean, should I just go? I can go. I can go.

E.J.: It's fine. You stay here, get some rest, okay?

Nicole: Thank you. To tell you the truth, I didn't want to fight the Christmas crowd anyway.

E.J.: All right, I'll be back shortly.

Nicole: Okay. Thank you.

E.J.: You're welcome.

Nicole: Hey, it's me. I need your help...now.

Max: All right, two lattes, lukewarm.

Chelsea: You're kidding, right?

Max: Yes, I am. They're actually really, really hot. And yours has extra foam, so...

Chelsea: You know, I was actually thinking about this. Now that kind of makes them cappuccinos.

Max: You see, this is why you need to be around more. Because I'm such a terrible barista.

Chelsea: You did fine.

Max: Thank you. That's some Christmas list there.

Chelsea: Yeah, I keep thinking that I forgot somebody.

Max: Uh, me.

Chelsea: Oh, I --

Max: I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. You've been really busy. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it.

Chelsea: For a second there, I thought maybe you'd gotten me something.

Max: No. No, I'm totally, totally thoughtless in that regard.

Chelsea: Not that gift-giving or exchanging would be a bad idea.

Max: Right. Are we having an awkward moment right now?

Chelsea: You know what? I-I should probably get going 'cause the stores are gonna close soon.

Max: You didn't even drink your latte.

Chelsea: I know. I'm sorry. And I don't want it to go to waste, but I should just really get going. I'm sorry if I made this weird.

Max: [Chuckles] Wait, wait. Weird how? I thought we were having a good time. That's -- that's -- yeah.

Chelsea: No, we were having a -- we are having a good time.

Max: Right. Right, okay. So what went wrong?

[Telephone rings]

Kate: Hello?

Chloe: Kate, it's Chloe.

Kate: Oh, Chloe, I was just thinking about you.

Chloe: I was calling to tell you that I got the necklace, and it's absolutely beautiful, but can't possibly accept it.

Kate: Oh, no. No, you have to accept it. You must.

Chloe: No, I don't think I --

Kate: Chloe, listen to me. I am a sick woman, and I'm going to put you on the spot now. The only way that I'm going to be feeling better is if you keep that necklace and you enjoy it. How's that for pressure?

Chloe: But I don't deserve it.

Kate: Oh, no. All you did was save my life.

Chloe: Well, it was purely selfish motives, okay? I just wanted you to be around for the wedding.

Kate: Chloe, listen to me. Let me be selfish here. There has been no other woman in my son's life that I have ever wanted to give this to. But I do want to give it to you. And I want you to wear it on your wedding day.

Chloe: It would be an honor.

Kate: Thank you. That's wonderful.

Chloe: Thank you, Kate, so much.

Chelsea: Nothing's wrong. Nothing -- nothing is going wrong.

Max: Right, right. 'Cause I'm -- I'm picking up this vibe here.

Chelsea: A vibe. Wow, I didn't realize that people still got vibes.

Max: [Chuckles] Right.

Chelsea: Look, honestly, it's -- it's not you. It's totally me.

Max: Oh, that's a new one. Yeah, that's a new one.

Chelsea: It's every time I go to the hospital, even though my grandmother is doing better, I just get a little...you know?

Max: Right, yeah. Yeah, you should probably be thinking about her and all that, yeah.

Chelsea: Yeah. Her and Christmas gifts.

Max: Right. Yeah. It's true. I need to do that myself.

Chelsea: [Clears throat]

Max: So [Chuckles] Are, uh -- we're good, right?

Chelsea: Of course.

Max: Okay, you have -- you have a little...

Chelsea: A what?

Max: You have a little, uh -- you have a little something right here. I'm just getting that for you.

Chelsea: Thanks.

Max: Yeah.

Victor: E.J.

E.J.: Hello, Victor. Nice to see you doing well.

Victor: Let's cut to it, shall we?

E.J.: A right.

Victor: Word is that Nicole Walker is carrying your child and has moved into the DiMera mansion.

E.J.: That's right.

Victor: My advice -- throw the bitch out on her ass.

Nicole: Brady.

Brady: Hi, got your message. What's going on?

Nicole: Uh...I wanted to talk to you on the phone, not in person. Look, E.J.'s gonna be back here any minute. Last thing I need is for him to see you.

Brady: Oh, well, so sorry for being a friend.

Nicole: Don't be like that, okay?

Brady: Does E.J. know the truth, that you're faking your pregnancy?

Nicole: Shh!

Brady: Oh, sorry. Does E.J. know that you're faking your pregnancy?

Nicole: Would I still be in the mansion if he did? Look, I just -- I need a favor.

Brady: What?

Nicole: A loan.

Brady: Money?

Nicole: No, granulated brown sugar. Yes, money.

Brady: How much, Nicole?

Nicole: $1 million.

Daniel: Oh, good. You're still awake.

Kate: Oh, I hope this is good news.

Daniel: It is. First of all, you are doing better than we had hoped. And secondly, package is delivered.

Kate: Thank you. Thank you so much for bringing the gift to Chloe.

Daniel: Hey, no worries. Just happy to help out. But next time, you are gonna be able to do it by yourself.

Kate: Oh, I'm just so anxious to get out of here. I'm wondering when I'm gonna get out of here.

Daniel: Kate, Kate, look, I know...you want to be home for Christmas.

Kate: But?

Daniel: But -- daa daa. No buts. And I am gonna do all I can.

Kate: Really?

Daniel: I'm not making any promises, but, yeah.

Kate: I understand. I really do. I'm just -- I'm just glad that present got to Chloe. I mean, well, it's for Lucas, too. You know, I want to wish them both luck as a couple. I appreciate that you did that.

Daniel: No problem.

Kate: I'm sorry that I asked you to take that long trip out there on your night off, but, um, it was important to me.

Daniel: Obviously.

Kate: You know, I was always a bit skeptical about Lucas and Chloe being together, and I wanted them to know that I don't feel that way anymore. I mean, that -- that was important, 'cause you know how I can be kind of a mother tiger when it comes to my children, but, um -- but I really do -- I really do believe that they're gonna make it together, that they're gonna make it together as a couple.

Chloe: Mm.

Lucas: Wow. Right now at this very moment, I don t think there's any way I could love you more.

Chloe: Oh, yeah? Well, you better remember this moment when you're changing dirty diapers and watching dinner burn and yelling at the kids to finish their homework, taking out garbage.

Lucas: All right, you're killing it, man. You're killing the mood.

Chloe: [Chuckles] Sorry.

Lucas: How many kids are we gonna have anyway?

Chloe: As many as you can handle.

Lucas: I can handle anything as long as you're by my side.

Max: I think I got it.

Chelsea: Is it gone?

Max: Yeah, you're, uh, officially foamless.

Chelsea: Thanks.

Max: Mm-hmm. Anyway...

Chelsea: So, I'll go now. I'll go get my Santa on.

Max: Right.

Chelsea: What about you? Do you, um, have your list all squared away?

Max: Uh, I haven't had the time.

Chelsea: You are aware that, that's not really an excuse. Like, nobody has time.

Max: Well --

Chelsea: So you're just gonna show up to the party empty-handed?

Max: I'll think of something.

Chelsea: With like t-minus zero seconds left?

Max: Okay, why are you on my case?

Chelsea: Because. Because we are friends and that's what friends do. They get on each other's cases and [Snaps fingers] got each other's backs.

Max: [Chuckles] Right, yeah, that's -- that's totally true. I'm -- I'm glad that I have a friend like you who's watching out for me.

E.J.: Don't ever speak that way about Nicole again. You hear me?

Victor: Just trying to help, E.J.

E.J.: If I need your help, I'll ask for it.

Victor: Nicole is poison. She will turn your life into a nightmare.

E.J.: Who are you to tell me what she's gonna do with my life? Your marriage to her was completely disastrous. You're old enough to be her grandfather. You didn't love her. She doesn't love you.

Victor: Your naiveté is astounding.

E.J.: Victor, as much as you might love to delight in other people's suffering, I'm afraid you're not gonna get your kicks out of me. Nicole and I are deeply in love.

Victor: "Deeply in love"?

E.J.: Any news on that burger, guys?

Victor: Nicole doesn't love anyone but herself. And if you think she's changed, you're a bigger fool than I thought you were.

Brady: You need $1 million.

Nicole: You can swing that, right?

Brady: [Laughs] Why would you need that kind of money?

Nicole: Oh, that Dr. Baker. The creep knows I'm faking it, and he won't keep quiet unless I stuff his mouth with cash.

Brady: I don't have that kind of money, Nicole.

Nicole: Well, you're part Kiriakis.

Brady: What, so you think I'm automatically a trust-fund baby or something? No. My grandfather does not do it that way, Nicole.

Nicole: Oh, damn. Doesn't surprise me. Penny-pinching control freak. You know what? Victor is part of the reason I'm in this situation. And -- and now I'm penniless, having to beg E.J. for money.

Brady: Come on, let's not blame Victor for all your messes, okay?

Nicole: You're right. It doesn't do me any good. I just have to figure out some other plan to dig myself out of this situation.

Daniel: I should let you rest. I'll see you in the morning.

Kate: Yes, you will. I'll be here, unfortunately.

Daniel: Okay.

Kate: Hey. What happened to you?

Daniel: Oh it's just, uh, accident. I slammed it in a door. No big deal.

Kate: "No big deal"? You're a surgeon, for God sakes.

Daniel: Well, not at the moment, but, Kate, really, I'm fine. It's just -- my career will not be ruined. Got some flexibility.

Kate: Oh. Well, be careful. Please.

Daniel: I will. I will never let it happen again.

Lucas: Chloe? What's wrong? What's the matter?

Chloe: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Brady: Nicole, you can't go on like this.

Nicole: Brady, if you don't help me, I will be out on the streets by Christmas.

Brady: I can't lend you $1 million that I don't have, and even if I could give it to you, how is that gonna help you get a baby?

Nicole: Get out, Brady. You're depressing me. Get out before E.J. comes home.

Brady: Listen to me, you need to tell E.J. the truth.

Nicole: No, it's not an option.

Brady: Nicole, you've got to do it.

Nicole: Goodbye, Brady. Damn it, Brady. You were my last hope.

Dr. Baker: This is Dr. Baker.

Nicole: Hi, Dr. Baker. It's Nicole Walker. I was, um -- I was wondering if you were willing to take a, uh, substantial deposit.

Dr. Baker: What kind of deposit?

Nicole: Well, I was -- I was thinking about what you said earlier, and you're right. I do live in a pretty incredible house, a museum, as you put it. Money everywhere, right, in every nook and cranny.

Dr. Baker: Fine. I'll take the deposit.

Nicole: Excellent. So, you'll be my doctor for a couple more days, right?

Dr. Baker: It better be something very valuable.

Nicole: Oh, you won't be disappointed.

E.J.: So, let me just et this straight -- you're the person who believed that a woman -- 80? -- 80 years your junior was in love with you, but me -- I'm the fool, right?

Victor: I knew Nicole wasn't in love with me.

E.J.: Well, that's very perceptive of you, Victor. I think you've just gone up in my estimations.

Victor: We had an arrangement. We both got exactly what we wanted till Nicole screwed it up.

E.J.: Any news on that burger?

Victor: There's only one thing that Nicole likes more than herself and that's money. Now, deep down, you know that. And sooner or later, you're gonna have to face it.

E.J.: Well, thank you for the heads up. I'm tremendously grateful that you would, uh, be so thoughtful as to offer to help me.

Victor: Fine. Don't take my advice. Just don't come whimpering to me months from now when, heartbroken and bankrupt, your relationship with Nicole blows up in your face, because I can assure you, it will. It's just a matter of time.

Hope: You had another one of those images, didn't you? I think I know why this is happening to you.

Lucas: Come on, what's going on here? Is there something you're not telling me?

Philip: I want to talk to you about surprises. And I have one that is going to blow you away.

Melanie: Do you think maybe we can go somewhere and celebrate Christmas like a normal family? Right?
