Nicole: Okay. Keys. Oh!

E.J.: Hey. Going somewhere in a hurry?

Nicole: E.J.

Sami: Mm. Oh. Nothing like the smell of freshly brewed coffee.

Rafe: Thought you were gonna sleep the day away.

Sami: Probably could have. How long have you been up?

Rafe: A few hours. Had a lot on my mind. Here you go.

Sami: Oh. Thanks. [Sniffs] Mmm, smells so good, but I probably shouldn't have any 'cause of the baby.

Rafe: Right. Baby.

Sami: Yeah. Thanks for this. And, um, thanks again for agreeing not to talk to your boss about, you know, me being pregnant.

Rafe: Yeah.

Sami: That's the only reason I could sleep well last night, you know? Knowing that you had promised me that you wouldn't say anything to your boss about me. But now you're being awfully quiet. Are you keeping something from me?

Rafe: All right, look. I did talk to my boss last night about you, after you went to sleep.

Pete: There you go. Sorry about the wait.

Chloe: No problem, Pete. Wait, hold on. I know I have my money in here. Oh, my God.

Brady: This should cover it.

Chloe: Brady.

Brady: Hello, Chloe.

Melanie: Nick.

[Door opens]

Bo: Hey.

Hope: Hey, I was just about to come get you.

Bo: News on the investigation?

Hope: No, not yet, but, Brady, I couldn't sleep at all last night.

Bo: Yeah, I noticed.

Hope: I couldn't stop thinking about what Nicole said, about the tall guy she saw at the cemetery the night Trent was murdered.

Bo: Yeah, we definitely have to figure out who he is.

Nick: Hi.

Melanie: Oh, Nick, you scared me.

Nick: Sorry.

Melanie: That's okay. I'm just a little jumpy, I guess.

Nick: You seemed so focused just then. What were you looking at?

Sami: I have only myself to blame. I mean, how could I? I shouldn't have slept at all. I should have kept my eyes open to make sure you didn't go back on your word.

Rafe: Would you just listen?

Sami: How could you do this to me, Agent Backstabber?

Rafe: Okay, if you will just shut up and listen to me for a second, you would hear that I did not do this to you.

Sami: You told me that you called --

Rafe: Yeah, I called my boss. I didn't tell him your secret.

Sami: He doesn't know that I'm pregnant?

Rafe: No.

Sami: Well, then, why did you call him?

Rafe: To check up on you, see if you're telling me the truth.

Sami: Oh, like that's not insulting.

Rafe: I know, right? I mean, how could I? 'Cause you have obviously been such an honest and forthright person.

Sami: I was honest, and I was completely forthright with you last night. I was -- I was telling you the truth, but why should I have bothered? Because, obviously, you weren't gonna believe me. Why am I talking to you at all? You should go back to your dumb earphones, put them in your dumb ears, and listen to your dumb music, and I'm just gonna stop talking to you ever!

Rafe: Really? Is that a promise? Can I get that in writing? Because that -- see, that would be like a breath of fresh air. See, actually, I do have one more interesting thing to tell you. Nicole Walker's been granted bail. She's out of jail and living at the DiMeras'.

Sami: No way.

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Nicole: Ah. Um, I-I thought you had already left for the office.

E.J.: I did. I just forgot something, a document.

Nicole: Oh.

E.J.: So, where are you going?

Nicole: I'm going to the hospital. I have a prenatal checkup. I've really got to run. I'm late, okay?

E.J.: Wait, Nicole. I mean...I'd like to go, too, if that's all right with you.

Nicole: Yeah, why wouldn't it be? But I-I thought you had to work.

E.J.: No. I mean, this is a lot more important. Shall we?

Nicole: Yeah.

Chloe: Brady, I had no idea you were here. When did you get here? I mean, have you seen your dad, Marlena?

Brady: Yeah, yeah. No, I've seen them both.

Chloe: And you're feeling better?

Brady: I feel great. I've actually been clean for about a year now.

Chloe: Congratulations.

Brady: Thanks.

Chloe: So, uh, what brings you back to Salem? When I saw you at rehab, you didn't sound like you were in any hurry to come back.

Brady: Right, I know. I wasn't then, but I have finished treatment, and now I've changed my mind.

Chloe: Any particular reason?

Brady: You. I came back to see you.

Nick: Why won't you answer me?

Melanie: I don't like your tone.

Nick: There's no tone. I just asked you what you were looking at. That's all.

Melanie: Yeah, well, I wasn't looking at anything. I was just daydreaming. Uh, before I forget, your Aunt Maggie called. She wants you to call her back on your cellphone.

Nick: Okay. Thanks.

Melanie: Um, listen, I have a really bad headache, so I'm gonna go lay down for a little while, okay?

Nick: You need some aspirin or anything?

Melanie: No, thank you. I have some.

Nick: Aren't you forgetting something?

Melanie: Thank you.

Nick: Wait. I can tell something's wrong. What is it?

Daniel: Knock, knock.

E.J.: Hi.

Daniel: Hey.

E.J.: Dr. Jonas, good to see you again.

Daniel: Yeah, you too. I assume Nicole told you that I'd be consulting on the case, given the nature of her pregnancy.

E.J.: Yeah, I hope it's all right that I came.

Daniel: Oh, no, no. Of course. So, how are you feeling, Nicole?

Nicole: Oh, well, I've had a little morning sickness, but other than that...

Daniel: No cramps, no bleeding?

Nicole: Um, a few cramps, but nothing else lately.

Daniel: And have you had some movement, little baby flutters?

Nicole: [Chuckles] I have, I have. A lot, actually.

Daniel: That's great. Well, all seems well, normal. So if you'd just lie back on the table.

E.J.: Let me get you a pillow.

Nicole: Oh, great, thanks.

Daniel: Ready to hear your baby's heartbeat?

Nicole: Yes!

E.J.: Oh, yes, please.

Nicole: [Chuckles]

Melanie: What could be wrong, Nick? My life is great. Happy, happy.

Nick: Come on, Melanie, I can tell you're upset.

Melanie: I don't know why you would think that. [Chuckles] Aside from the fact that I'm living with an insane person who's been trying to ruin my life. What could be wrong with the world?

Nick: What are you talking about?

Melanie: Really? This is what I'm talking about. Does this look familiar to you? You can stop pretending like you didn't see it when you picked up my purse. I found this stationery in the drawer when I was looking for something to write on. No? Let me just refresh your memory. What do you know? Perfect match. Hell of a coincidence, don't you think? I thought you were my friend, someone -- someone who believed in me, who trusted me.

Nick: I am your friend.

Melanie: Nick, I confided in you! I moved in with you. I celebrated my birthday with you, only to find out that you were terrorizing me all along. The notes and the phone call -- that was you this whole time?

Hope: Yeah, a tall man. Right, pine grove cemetery. Okay, sounds good. Let me know as soon as you find anything. Bye.

Bo: Checking out Nicole's story?

Hope: Yeah, it's just a hunch, but I think her statement may pan out.

Melanie: You kept saying your main goal in life was to make me happy, to take care of me.

Nick: It was. It is.

Melanie: How are you taking care of me, Nick? By terrorizing me and giving me nightmares? Is that how you care for somebody? It -- it was you, wasn't it? Tell me!

Nick: Yes.

Melanie: Now!

Nick: It was me.

Chloe: No, not possible.

Brady: What?

Chloe: That you came all the way back here to see me. Come on.

Brady: Yeah, yeah. You're right. I totally confess. I made the whole thing up. My plan was to completely avoid you, but, you know, with my luck, there you were getting takeout and I thought that I had to say something nice to make you feel good.

Chloe: Ah, trying to heal my battered ego, huh?

Brady: Well, did it work? I mean, for that one moment, where you thought it might be true?

Chloe: I should probably get this food home. Welcome back, Brady.

Brady: Chloe. It is true. I came back to Salem to see my family, sure, but...mainly because I want to sort out what the heck happened to us and our marriage.

Chloe: Well, actually, I've already sorted it out. I was too focused on my career, self-consumed, and you got into drugs. No big mystery.

Brady: No, it's not a mystery, but it's a damn shame. Don't you think?

Chloe: I did think that for a while. But now I'm being more fatalistic about it. It obviously wasn't meant to be.

Brady: Even so, that doesn't mean we should leave it the way we did.

Chloe: I've gotten past the anger, Brady.

Brady: Well, I haven't gotten past the guilt, Chloe. You see, when I married you, I made a commitment to you, to do everything in my power to make you happy, and I failed. I failed miserably, and I will never forgive myself for that. I was just hoping that maybe you can.

Sami: She's out on bail? Oh, my God. That means she's living with E.J., which means she's living with Johnny in the DiMera mansion. I've got to call my Mom. My Mom has got to get my son away from that criminal.

Rafe: Hey, hey, hey.

Sami: Just give me the ph-- let me --

Rafe: No. Now, listen, according to my sources at Salem P.D., Miss Walker is no longer the number-one suspect.

Sami: Who is?

Rafe: None of my business.

Sami: She could be free forever. I have got to get out of here.

Rafe: Hey, Sami, Sami.

Sami: No, let me --

Rafe: Sami, you are in the witness protection program, okay? You're not going anywhere.

Sami: What if the police are wrong? What if my son is living with a murderer?

Daniel: Here we go. Strong heartbeat.

Nicole: It's so fast. Is that normal?

Daniel: Absolutely. Yep. Well, everything seems fine. Growth is a normal rate, so it's all good.

Nicole: Oh, that is such a relief. I mean, not that I was worried anything was wrong, but since this is my -- our -- first baby...

Daniel: You'll be an old pro at this soon.

E.J.: Thanks for the good news, doctor. I really appreciate it.

Daniel: No worries. Well, until next time.

Nicole: Yeah, thank you.

Daniel: Oh, you know, while I've got you both, uh, your next appointment is gonna be an ultrasound. Depending on the position of the baby, we should be able to determine the sex. So is that something you want to know?

Hope: You got it. Thank you so much. Well, Nicole was right. There was someone else at the cemetery the night Trent was murdered. Ray Jackson.

Bo: The caretaker?

Hope: Mm-hmm, and apparently he lied to us.

Bo: We checked with cemetery security. They said there wasn't a caretaker on duty that night.

Hope: Right, but my source says he was there unofficially.

Bo: On his night off. Who's your source?

Hope: One of my snitches -- three-time offender. He was all set to do hard time, but at the last minute, he cut a deal and got probation. He gave up some local criminals. Ray was one of them.

Bo: So our man Ray has a side job.

Hope: Mm-hmm, stealing headstones and plaques from the graveyard, selling the marble on the black market. Big money, I'm told.

Bo: Yeah, I'll have Bennett put out an A.P.B., see if we can find this guy.

Hope: Okay, I'm gonna pull the car around.

Bo: All right.

Melanie: So, now -- now I don't understand. Why would you do this to me?

Nick: I had my reasons.

Melanie: Oh, you had your reasons?

Nick: I care about you, Melanie. I always have. From the first time that I met you, I felt this connection.

Melanie: No, don't! Do not talk to me about connections. I poured my heart out to you, and I told you about everything. Oh, my g-- and you -- you asked me if -- if I had any idea who I thought sent the letter. You were acting all concerned and sympathetic.

Nick: Melanie, I was trying to --

Melanie: I know.

Nick: You know what?

Melanie: It's because you think you're in love with me.

Nick: What?

Melanie: My brother told me.

Nick: I guess I should have expected that.

Melanie: So is that what you were trying to do? You were trying to scare me into loving you, too?

Nick: You got this all wrong.

Melanie: No. I think I have it right. You're trying to scare me so you could have some kind of power over me.

Nick: That's not the reason, not at all. I did it...to protect you.

Both: Do you want to know?

E.J.: All right, do yo--

Nicole: [Chuckles] Well...

E.J.: Do you want to know?

Nicole: I think I do. I think it would be helpful. You know, then we can either go pink or blue for the nursery instead of boring old yellow. And I can go out and get things for the baby right away -- clothes, whatnot, toys.

E.J.: Well, that's important.

Nicole: It is important because then I can fill the closet with pink lacy dresses or blue bonnets and matching overalls.

E.J.: A bonnet? No, I'm sorry. My son is not wearing a bonnet.

Nicole: You know what I mean. Those cute little beanies that the babies wear after they're born to keep their head warm.

[Door opens]

Daniel: Hello. Uh, sorry. Did you guys make a decision?

E.J.: I-I don't want to know. I-I just think it's more exciting if we find out when the baby's born. Is that okay?

Nicole: Well, I'm kind of partial to the Scout's motto -- you know, be prepared.

E.J.: Look, it's not too much of a burden to pick out two little names. Just two.

Nicole: Fine, fine.

E.J.: [Chuckles]

Nicole: Fine, we'll do it your way.

E.J.: Thank you.

Nicole: We'll wait.

Daniel: All right, well, no problem. No problem. Just keep in mind that sometimes you find out accidentally. The way the baby turns, suddenly it becomes very, uh...

E.J.: Don't you cheat or there's gonna be trouble.

[Cellphone Ringing]

E.J.: I'm sorry. Would you excuse me? I have to take this. Be back in a second, sweetheart.

Nicole: Okay.

Daniel: So, um...do you have any questions?

Nicole: Uh, yeah, actually, I do have one.

Daniel: Shoot.

Nicole: You know, um, when I had that scare a few weeks ago, I've since been thinking about sex. You know, is it -- is it okay?

Chloe: You don't have to apologize, Brady.

Brady: Uh, true. I mean, I could just say, "Chloe, sorry for treating you like dirt, but you had it coming."

Chloe: Maybe I did.

Brady: You need to stop.

Chloe: It wasn't only you. I'm also to blame for what happened between us, Brady. I knew that you weren't happy living in Europe, but I chose to push ahead with my own agenda because it was all about me, my career.

Brady: Chloe, you had a right to pursue your dream. You have a gift.

Chloe: And I also had a husband, and I neglected him.

Brady: And I should have been able to deal with your ambition, okay? I should have supported it.

Chloe: Wow. Listen to us. Now that it's over, we have all this perspective.

Brady: Yeah, our timing's just a little bit off, isn't it?

Chloe: You had so much going for you, Brady. That was the worst part, watching you squander it. It was worse than us breaking up. Just watching you self-destruct and I did nothing about it.

Brady: No, no, no, no. Chloe, listen to me right now. I'm responsible for what happened to me, my addiction, okay? And I'm the one that has to live with the consequences for the rest of my life.

Chloe: But you're okay now?

Brady: I'm okay now. I'm myself again. But I lost you. I lost the one person that I love most in the world.

Chloe: Brady, I understand that you're trying to take responsibility for your life, but you can't deny that people who love you can help you make better choices, help steer you away from hurting yourself, and I didn't do that.

Brady: Okay, so now... my God, look at us. We've reached a new level of maturity here, huh? We're both accepting responsibility for what happened.

Chloe: Yeah.

Brady: I suppose the next part of this is, uh...learning to forgive each other?

Chloe: I'm not sure I'm that mature.

Brady: Oh, I think you can handle it.

Chloe: Yeah, I can. Brady...I forgive you for giving up on our marriage. I know it's because you lost yourself.

Brady: It was.

Chloe: And I hope you forgive me for not trying hard enough, for abandoning you when you needed me most.

Brady: Chloe, I forgive you.

Melanie: How are you protecting me? My God, Nick, every night I would wake up gasping for breath. I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep.

Nick: I want to take care of you. I wanted to make you feel safe.

Melanie: Keep me safe from what? You keep saying that, but I don't know what it means.

Nick: What I wrote in that note is true, okay? I was -- I was there in the cemetery that night. I saw what really happened the night your father was murdered.

Melanie: You were there?

Nick: I saw everything.

Melanie: Okay. Okay, Nick, if you love me like you say that you do...then you have to tell me the truth now. Did you... did you kill my Father?

Trent: [Groans]

Nick: No, Melanie. You did.

Sami: This just goes from bad to worse. I mean, as if Stefano's influence isn't bad enough, now my son could be living down the hall from a killer. I mean, I have to protect him.

Rafe: Sami, you told me yourself that E.J. DiMera is a good father. He's not gonna let anything happen to your kid.

Sami: You don't know that, okay? E.J. is under Nicole's influence. She has him wrapped around her little finger while she's plotting her next murder.

Rafe: Would you give it a rest? For all you know, Nicole Walker could have been wrongly accused in the first place.

Sami: You're sticking up for her now?

Rafe: I don't even know the woman.

Sami: Consider yourself lucky. Damn it. I mean, how could E.J. get himself wrapped up in this mess in the first place?

Daniel: The baby will be very well protected by the amniotic fluid. Unless there are any complications, you don't have to change any of your sexual activities. Totally fine.

E.J.: What's totally fine?

Nicole: Oh, the baby's healthy, thriving.

E.J.: Oh, great.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, so, if there are no further questions.

Nicole: No, all good here.

Daniel: Great, okay. Well, then, I'll see you in one month.

Nicole: Yes, thank you, Daniel.

Daniel: Take care.

E.J.: Hey, sweetheart.

Nicole: Hi.

E.J.: You know, I'm just gonna wait for you outside, okay?

Nicole: Oh, okay.

E.J.: Dr. Jonas, I have one more question.

Daniel: Sure.

E.J.: Um...well, you know, about the pregnancy, I mean, Nicole -- she didn't think she could get pregnant, and now that she has, she feels -- your reassurance notwithstanding -- that it's somewhat precarious.

Daniel: E.J., what's the question?

E.J.: Right. Sorry. Um, it's about sex, actually. Um, I was just wondering whether it would be safe for us to do that.

Hope: ...Said he saw our guy come in here.

Bo: Yeah, about 15 minutes ago.

Hope: There he is.

Bo: Yeah. So, he's a caretaker by day, thief by night. It's a sign of the times.

Hope: I think we're on to something here, Brady. Ray's about, what, 6 feet?

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: He's got to be the tall guy that Nicole saw at the cemetery.

Bo: Hopefully he'll tell us something. Yo, Ray. Hey, man.

Ray: What's up?

Hope: Hey, Ray, we need to ask you some more questions about the night that Trent Robbins was murdered.

Ray: You already grilled me about that.

Bo: Yeah, well, this time we need you to tell us the truth. Come on, let's go.

Ray: I'm going, I'm going.

Melanie: I killed my Father.

Nick: I witnessed everything.

Melanie: No, no. No, this isn't happening. This isn't happening.

Nick: I'm so sorry, Melanie. I'm so sorry.

Melanie: [Sobbing] Okay, wait, okay. Please, Nick, tell me what happened in the cemetery.

Nick: Are you sure --

Melanie: Please just -- please just tell me now!

Nick: Okay. Okay, okay. I knew you were meeting him that night at the cemetery. I knew that you were angry with him about Claude and everything else. I was worried. So when I showed up, I heard the two of you arguing.

Nick: No!

Trent: [Groans]

Nick: I saw you struggle with the knife. And when Trent turned his back... you stabbed him...hard. And then you must have fainted because you fell and you hit your head.

Melanie: Is -- so I m-- I murdered my Father.

Chloe: I'm really glad you're back.

Brady: Me too.

Chloe: So, are you back in Salem for good?

Brady: I don't know. I don't know. I guess I'll have to figure that out down the line. Hey, um, Marlena told me that Sami is in witness protection?

Chloe: Oh, yeah. It's really sad. Um, she's away from her kids and her family. Not that my heart's breaking.

Brady: Yeah, I'm sure that it wouldn't.

Chloe: Yeah, she just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Brady: So does that mean that, um, you and Lucas are taking care of Allie or...

Chloe: I-I probably should have told you.

Brady: No, it's okay. You were under, what, no obligation to tell me, right? I'm actually sorry I brought it up. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable.

Chloe: I'm not.

Brady: Are you happy?

Chloe: Lucas and I get along really well. So, you saw your dad, right?

Brady: Yeah, yeah. Well, my Dad, no. I did run into John Black, though, briefly.

Chloe: Oh, yeah. That must have been hard on you.

Brady: Well, I talked to him on the phone before, but actually being with him and around him...there's no words, Chloe.

Chloe: Yeah. I've seen him a few times lately. The last time I saw him with Nicole, his demeanor --

Brady: Wait, wait, wait. Sorry, Nicole? My -- my Dad and Nicole are friends?

Chloe: Yeah, they seem to be. I know this is gonna sound even stranger, but Nicole and I have become friends, too.

Brady: [Chuckles] You're kidding me, right?

Chloe: No. She's changed. She's pretty cool and sweet. Well, she's sweet to me anyway.

Brady: Wow. I guess a lot has changed around here, huh?

Chloe: More than you know.

Melanie: [Sobbing] What kind of person murders their own flesh and blood?

Nick: Don't be so hard on yourself, Melanie.

Melanie: Don't be so hard on my-- Nick, I killed someone. I killed my Dad. I g-- I got to go to the police.

Nick: What? Wait, no! Me-- Melanie, you can't.

Ray: I can't help you, detective. I wasn't anywhere near the cemetery.

Bo: Cut the crap, Ray.

Ray: I told you before, I wasn't on duty.

Hope: But you were at the cemetery.

Bo: We know about your little side business -- selling gravestones on the black market. So I could slap the cuffs on you now and drag you down to the station, or you could start talking. That'll be your choice.

Ray: Okay, maybe I was at the cemetery that night. Let me just say I have the utmost respect for the departed. It's not like I steal from them, exactly. I like to think of it more as borrowing. I mean, come on, it's --

Hope: All right, stop, stop. We'll get into the case of the missing tombstone later, but right now we need you to think back. Did you see anyone else at the cemetery that night, the night that Trent Robbins was murdered?

Ray: Yes, I sure did.

Nick: You can't go to the cops.

Melanie: Why not?

Nick: Because, Melanie, I know -- I know that you killed your father in self-defense, but do you really think that the police are gonna believe that? Everyone knows the way you felt about Trent, including Bo and Hope. If you confess to the murder, you could go to jail for life. Is that what you what?

Melanie: No, no, of course not.

Nick: Then we've got to figure out a way to keep the cops off your back.

Melanie: What are we gonna do, Nick? They're gonna find out eventually.

Nick: Yes, they will. But we'll be gone by then.

Melanie: "Gone"?

Nick: Yes. You better go pack your bags because we're leaving Salem right now.

Chloe: Hey, Daniel. How's Kate?

Daniel: Hey. Uh, she's hanging in there. Yeah, I just checked her out.

Chloe: Still no visitors?

Daniel: Uh, no, not yet, but she did mention your visit with her the other day.

Chloe: Oh, yeah. I'm surprised she heard me. I thought she was sleeping.

Daniel: She heard you. She told me just now how you inspired her to, um, take the risk and fight it.

Chloe: I was just telling her about my own experience.

Daniel: And it was very helpful to hear it from somebody who's been through it.

Chloe: Well, I'm glad I was able to do something. She's a good person and a great mom. [Pager beeping]

Daniel: Trauma center. All right, I got to go. Um, Chloe, thank you for what you did and what you said. It was really...miraculous.

Sami: You know, I just don't understand it. E.J. could have had his pick of a million women. You know, he's good-looking, and he's intelligent, normally, and he has that whole charming British-accent thing. I mean, he really could have had anyone he wants, but, no, he has to get seduced by that good-for-nothing slut. What?

Rafe: I finally get what's going on here.

Sami: I don't know what you're talking about.

Rafe: Oh, why you've been acting up, behaving like a maniac.

Sami: Excuse me?

Rafe: You still care about him, don't you? You're still in love with E.J. DiMera.

Nicole: Oh, how about that little heartbeat?

E.J.: I know.

Nicole: Boom-boom, boom-boom, boom-boom. It was so fast.

E.J.: We should have made a recording. Then we could play it when the baby's all grown up. Next time.

Nicole: All grown up, huh? I can't even imagine holding our baby in my arms, let alone having a grown-up kid around.

E.J.: I know. We have a lot to look forward to, don't we?

Nicole: Yeah. [Chuckles]

E.J.: I, um...I have to stop. Otherwise, I'm not going to be able to stop.

Nicole: And why is that a problem?

E.J.: Mm, mm. Maybe we should take this upstairs.

Nicole: Okay. Tell you what, you go on upstairs and I will meet you in your bedroom.

E.J.: Mm, all right.

Nicole: Okay?

E.J.: Don't...be...long.

Nicole: Okay. I won't. Yes! [Sighs] What am I gonna wear? What am I gonna wear?

[Doorbell rings]

Nicole: Um...I'll get it.

Brady: Hi, Nicole.

Hope: We have a few pictures we want you to take a look at and see if you recognize the person from the cemetery that night.

Ray: I got no problem with that. You got a better one? I can't quite make out the faces. Bingo. Recognize that face anywhere.

Bo: Point out the face you saw at the cemetery.

Hope: Nick?

Ray: I don't know the name, but that's him all right -- the man I saw at the cemetery. I'm sure of it.

Melanie: Okay, but what's the rush? Do you think that they're on to me now?

Nick: I wasn't gonna tell you this earlier, but when I talked to Hope, she gave me the impression that she and Bo are back to fingering you as their prime suspect.

Melanie: Did something happen? Did they come up with new evidence?

Nick: They released Nicole Walker. She's out on bail.

Melanie: But -- but Nicole is still a suspect, right?

Nick: I-I assume so.

Melanie: And there are lots of other suspects still, right?

Nick: There could be, but if you ask me, it's only a matter of time before they show up here.

Melanie: Yeah, but, Nick, if I run away, I'm just gonna look more guilty, and besides, I'm not afraid of Bo and Hope. I can handle them.

Nick: I don't know. I mean, you might be able to lie convincingly, but I'm not sure that I can.

Melanie: What do -- what do you mean?

Nick: They're gonna question both of us. They know that you're my friend. They know that you're living here. Do you really want me answering questions from the police when I'm the only person who knows that you murdered your father?

Melanie: Are you saying you're gonna -- you're gonna rat me out?

Nick: Of course not. Of course not. But I might -- I might slip up. I might say something stupid. I get really nervous under pressure.

Melanie: I don't -- I don't know. I don't know. I have to -- I have to think.

Nick: Trust me. Trust me. I promise this is the right thing to do. Now, come on. Hurry, let's go.

Melanie: Okay.

Nick: We got to get out of here.

E.J.: Now all I need is the girl. Where are you, Nicole?

Brady: I'm here because I want to start over.
