Stephanie: Trick or treat.
Philip: Stephanie. If you want some candy, you'll need a better costume than that.
Stephanie: [Chuckles] I am dressed as a girl whose boyfriend just dumped her. Doesn't get any scarier than that.
Philip: Sounds like you need a friend.
Stephanie: That's why I'm here. I hope you don't mind.
Philip: It's no problem. I'm glad to have the company. Have a seat. So, uh, things with you and Max -- they aren't any better?
Stephanie: No. He's still upset that I betrayed him. What if I've lost him forever?
Philip: Then he'd be a fool for letting you go.
Melanie: Happy Halloween, big bro.
Max: You too.
Melanie: Ooh, I love these. They give you such a sugar rush.
Max: Well, those are for the trick-or-treaters.
Melanie: Okay, don't be such a candy cop. Speaking of tricks, your brother and his wife tried to set me up today.
Max: What? What happened?
Melanie: Well, after the reading of the will, when you left, Greg gave me a note that my Dad left me. And Bo and Hope knew about it, and they were trying to see if I would bring it to the police.
Max: I'm guessing you didn't.
Melanie: Well, I was going to.
Melanie: Anyways, whatever was on that letter cleared me, because I'm no longer the prime suspect.
Max: Good for you.
Melanie: Wait. Please. I was just wondering if... you ever got the box that Dad left. I mean, Bo took it from Greg when you ran out of the room.
Max: Well, Bo can keep it.
Melanie: Well, you don't know what's inside of it.
Max: I don't care! I don't want to know what's inside it. In fact, I want to forget at I ever met Trent and the past few months never even happened.
Melanie: Are you saying you want to forget you ever met me?
Nicole: How many times do I have to tell you? I didn't kill Trent Robbins, all right? You're arresting the wrong person.
Bo: Did you miss the part about "anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law"?
Nicole: You can take your Miranda Rights and shove them --
Hope: That's enough. Stop. You're in enough trouble as it is without insulting a police officer.
Nicole: You think I don't watch "Law & Order"? You're trying to scare me into a confession. Fine. I confess. I never did like either one of you. In fact, I think you're a couple of clowns.
Hope: I strongly suggest you keep your mouth shut without your attorney present.
Bo: Hey, where is Elvis, anyway? I thought he was on our heels.
Nicole: I thought he was, too.
Bo: Maybe he wised up, decided you're more trouble than you're worth.
Hilda: [Snoring loudly]
Sami: Ugh. Well, baby, I didn't think this was possible, but Hilda is just as annoying asleep as she is awake. I almost regret giving her the sleeping pills.
Hilda: [Snoring continues]
Sami: Is the remote under -- all right, let's see if we ca-- [Grunting]
Hilda: [Snoring continues]
Sami: Oh, God. All right, let's see if a scary movie will drown out the sound. [Doorbell rings] More trick-or-treaters. I guess you didn't scare them all away, huh? Well, I don't want to get egged. Then there'll have to be major bloodshed. What have we got?
Nicole: [Sighs] He's not picking up.
Bo: Maybe you should hire yourself a different lawyer.
Nicole: Maybe you should stop being such a wise-ass. E.J. would not abandon me. He wouldn't do it to the mother of his unborn child. In fact, he's probably arranging for my release right now.
Bo: I doubt even a DiMera can pull enough strings to get you out of this mess.
Nicole: Oh, please. Your case against me is weaker than a wine cooler.
Hope: How is it weak? Trent screwing up your divorce settlement with Victor, costing you millions of dollars, gives you clear motive. We can also place you at the scene of the crime with that missing bead from the dress we found in your closet.
Bo: Not to mention the care package that Robbins left for us, which included the torn-up marriage certificate, along with a handwritten note implicating you in the case of his death.
Nicole: If you two weren't a couple of amateurs, you might have noticed that maybe the man was trying to frame me.
Bo: You've got no credibility. You've done nothing but lie to us, so you might as well get used to the fact that you're gonna be cooling your spiked heels in prison for a very long time.
Nicole: That's where you and frowny face are wrong. E.J. would never allow the mother of his child to be locked away with dangerous criminals.
E.J.: Yeah, well, I may not have much of a choice.
Sami: Raisins. Perfect. [Doorknob rattling] Oh, my God. Hilda. Hilda, wake up! Wake up, Hilda! There's someone -- there's someone out there. You have to wake up! Hilda, seriously. There's someone out there. You have to protect us. Hilda! [Rattling continues] Oh, my God. What am I gonna do? Hilda! Hilda!
Stephanie: I know it sounds cheesy, but... I feel like my heart is actually breaking. It physically hurts sometimes.
Philip: It's not cheesy at all.
Stephanie: I wake up in the middle of the night just crying, and then I can't go back to sleep because my mind is on Max, picturing us when we were happy together... [Crying] ...Going over and over the breakup, what he said, what I said.
Philip: Have you guys talked since I saw you at the pub?
Stephanie: No, and now I'm kicking myself for it. I was so upset that he made me look like a liar in front of Bo and Hope. I thought he'd apologize, but he didn't.
Philip: I mean, he probably just couldn't find the words. I'm sure he's as torn up about this as you are.
Stephanie: I was so stupid. I just let my anger get the best of me. I mean, I should have stayed and talked things over. I could have ruined things for good.
Philip: You can still talk to him.
Stephanie: Maybe he doesn't want to get back together. He hasn't called or e-mailed.
Philip: Well, there's only one way to find out.
Stephanie: I know, and normally I don't mind confronting situations head-on. It's just... this time I'm scared.
Stephanie: In a word... Melanie.
Philip: You think she's that big of an issue?
Stephanie: Yes. Max barely knows her. And whenever he has to choose a side, he always chooses hers. She always wins. And even if were to get back together, I know that would never change.
Philip: But you still want to get back together, right?
Stephanie: I love him. I know that. I just wish Melanie would get the hell out of Salem. And if she doesn't, I don't see how me and Max can work things out.
Philip: I think you're giving her way too much credit. What's going on with you and Max isn't entirely her fault.
Stephanie: I can't believe you just said that. Are you -- are you defending her?
Melanie: You really hate me that much?
Max: I don't hate you. I never could. Despite everything that's happened, I'm glad I found you. But you've put me through hell, all right? Things are complicated, all right? I just need a little space to myself right now.
Melanie: You blame me for your breakup with Stephanie, don't you?
Max: Well, you would have saved everyone a lot of trouble if you had been truthful from the start.
Melanie: Yeah, well, that fight with my Dad freaked me out, okay? I didn't know who to trust.
Max: I know you've been through a lot, but that doesn't excuse your lies and your manipulations.
Melanie: I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm sorry.
Max: That's fine. What, are you moving back in?
Melanie: [Laughs] Yeah, right. I could never be allowed back here.
Max: I'm sure Ma wouldn't mind.
Melanie: Mrs. Brady's cool, but the idea of running into all your Brady family members is...
Max: So, what are you gonna do?
Melanie: I don't know. Get a job and save up to buy a place of my own.
Max: Oh. Okay, good. Good. That'll take a while, won't it? Dear old Dad didn't just leave you any money.
Melanie: Oh, but, Max, it all went to such a good cause -- blackjack and craps and, ooh, betting on football.
Max: Right, right. And after death, I mean, it just screws everything up and put us through hell.
Melanie: Yeah, well, maybe it'll never end.
Max: You did get the brunt of it.
Melanie: Nah, I'll be fine. I'm still here. And I'm gonna find a place to live.
Nick: You have one already. You can stay with me.
Bo: We'll be watching.
E.J.: I'm sure.
Nicole: What is going on? What took you so long?
E.J.: I just got off the telephone with the district attorney's office.
E.J.: And considering your priors, things do not look very positive.
Nicole: I don't have any priors. I've never been convicted of anything.
E.J.: No. But it seems to be common knowledge that you shot Colin Murphy, your ex-lover, on your wedding day to Victor. And they have all of these pesky rumors floating around that you tried to kill Victor.
Nicole: They can't hold that against me. Besides, Victor and Colin are very much alive and well. No harm, no foul.
E.J.: You may think that, but the district attorney thinks that you have a rather, uh, "disturbing" history when it comes to the men in your life.
Nicole: What about you? Can't you vouch for me? We're involved...kind of. I haven't tried to hurt you.
E.J.: No. Not yet.
Melanie: How generous of you, Nick.
Max: I don't think that's a good idea.
Nick: Oh, really, Max? Why not?
Max: Well, because I don't think it's appropriate.
Nick: Oh, would you stop? She'd be moving in as friends. It's not like I have my old place where it'd be, like, just the two of us. I moved into Aunt Maggie and Uncle Mickey's.
Melanie: Well, that sounds like a full house.
Nick: No, no, no, no. There's plenty of room, and you will love getting to know Aunt Maggie and Uncle Mickey. They are very cool people. Isn't that right, Max?
Nick: Yeah, exactly. Max can vouch for them. Plus, there's -- there's leftovers from Chez Rouge laying around. How can you pass that up?
Melanie: That does sound tempting.
Nick: Come on. What do you say? Move in with me.
Bo: Yeah, thanks. Have a great night.
Hope: What did the D.A. say?
Bo: Pending Nicole's arraignment, all the charges against Ma are gonna be dropped.
Hope: [Sighs] That's fantastic. That's great news.
Bo: Yeah, you know what? I'm gonna head over to the pub and tell Ma the news in person.
Hope: Go. I'll keep my eye on things here.
Bo: Yeah, well, good luck. When Nicole gets desperate, she also gets a little dramatic. See ya.
Hope: Give your mom a kiss for me.
Nicole: This is so insane.
E.J.: Nicole, the police have very strong evidence against you, so bear with me if I'm having a hard time taking this all in.
Nicole: You're having a hard time with this?!
E.J.: Please. Why don't you just start at the beginning and tell me everything that happened between you and Trent that night?
Nicole: I already went through this with Bo and Hope. Weren't you listening?
E.J.: Well, I would like to hear the unfiltered version, please.
Nicole: Like I said, the day before he was killed, Trent and I met at the Brady Pub. He demanded money. We had an argument. He had our marriage certificate, which I had torn into pieces. The next night, I followed him to the cemetery. We argued again, and then I left, and when I left, he was still alive.
E.J.: Okay. So, why didn't you tell me this before?
Nicole: There was nothing to tell. There wasn't a problem. You don't believe me, do you? [Sighs] You think I killed him. You think I killed Trent.
Sami: Damn it. Hilda, where did you leave your gun? God, wake up! You have to protect us!
Hilda: [Snoring] [Door opens]
Officer: Come out slowly. Hands in the air.
Stephanie: That little brat. She has you fooled, too.
Philip: No, that is not true. I just -- I know how she operates. Are you forgetting I turned her in to Bo?
Stephanie: I guess I did let that slip my mind for a moment.
Philip: Yeah. How about a drink?
Stephanie: Brandy, please.
Philip: I just meant... when it comes to you and Max, yeah, Melanie's definitely a schemer, but you can't blame everything on her.
Stephanie: Almost everything.
Philip: Come on. That's a little out of whack, don't you think?
Stephanie: You're doing it again, Philip. You're defending her.
Philip: Only because I think she's fairly harmless.
Philip: Yeah...as in all bark, no bite.
Stephanie: Behind that bark is a bitch with major bite. She has no conscience, no morals.
Philip: What are you saying? You don't really think she killed her father, do you?
Stephanie: I think Melanie is a lot craftier than we all realize, and I think she's capable of anything.
Melanie: Do you think I could talk to my brother before I make a decision?
Nick: Uh...yeah. Sure.
Max: As long as it's platonic, okay? I know you guys have been hanging out a lot together, and I just don't want you rushing into anything.
Melanie: It's not like we're gonna have, like, hot, sweaty sex at his aunt's house.
Max: Come on! Please! I don't want to hear that.
Melanie: Grossed you out, didn't I?
Max: Yeah, kind of.
Melanie: All right. Well, thank you. It's kind of nice having someone look after me like you do.
Max: Is that what big brothers are for?
Bo: Hey, Nick. Hey, I'm glad you guys are here.
Melanie: Oh, why -- so you can trick me some more? You know what? This time, Max could be a part of the game. Wouldn't that be fun, Max?
Bo: Hey, I got some news for you.
Max: What's up?
Bo: I may have arrested your father's killer.
Nicole: That's it. You think I murdered Trent.
E.J.: It doesn't really matter what I think, Nicole. My job is to keep you out of jail.
Nicole: It doesn't matter? I'm the mother of your child. If you don't trust me, what the hell do we have?
E.J.: Why should I trust you, hmm? Why should I trust you? You don't trust me, do you? If you did, you would have told me that Trent was harassing you. You would have said something.
Nicole: Look, I thought I could handle it myself.
E.J.: Oh, well, job well done! Now look what you got yourself into. You and my unborn child could go to jail.
Nicole: This is not my fault! This is a terrible mistake, E.J. I am innocent.
E.J.: Really? Well, if that's the case, why didn't you tell me about this confrontation with Trent and we could have been prepared?
Nicole: I didn't know it would come to this. My God, I feel bad enough as it is without you acting like I brought this on myself.
E.J.: Well, you should have thought ahead! Do you understand? You're carrying my child, Nicole, all right? This is no longer about you. Every single decision that you make affects the three of us.
Rafe: Stand up. Now!
Sami: Okay. Okay. Sorry. Uh, please don't kill me. Please. I don't want to die.
Rafe: Look at me! You're Samantha Brady, right? I recognize you from your picture.
Sami: Who are you?
Rafe: Agent Rafe Fernandez. FBI.
Sami: Oh, my God! Oh, my God. I'm so glad. I thought you were another gunman or something.
Rafe: Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry about that. I thought the place had been compromised. I was bringing over some mug shots for you to look at, and Hilda didn't answer her phone when I got here. What's wrong with her?
Sami: She fell asleep watching TV.
Rafe: It's on vibrate. It's not protocol.
Hilda: [Snoring continues]
Sami: Oh, that's my fault. I switched it that way because, um, well, she was telling me that she's an insomniac, and I thought she needed her beauty sleep.
Rafe: Huh. Hilda. Hilda!
Hilda: [Snoring continues]
Rafe: She's out cold. She's been drugged.
Sami: Really? You think?
Rafe: What happened to her before she passed out? Did she eat or drink anything?
Sami: She did drink. She had a nightcap. She actually had a couple of them. Maybe it's the alcohol, you know?
Rafe: She doesn't smell like alcohol.
Rafe: Is this hers?
Rafe: Maybe. Huh. Residue on the bottom. Wow. You have a lot of explaining to do.
Stephanie: More trick-or-treaters?
Philip: We had a batman, a princess, and that dude from "scream" -- you know, the one with the knife.
Stephanie: Sure it wasn't Melanie?
Philip: Come on, Steph. There's a big difference between a troublemaker and a cold-blooded killer.
Stephanie: Troublemaker? You almost make it sound endearing.
Philip: I think when it comes down to it, she's just a spoiled young woman acting out.
Stephanie: You're totally into her, aren't you?
Philip: What? That wasn't a compliment.
Stephanie: I can hear it in your voice.
Philip: I'm not into Melanie.
Stephanie: If you're not interested in Melanie, then why are you wasting so much time talking about her?
Philip: You brought her up.
Stephanie: I was talking about how she destroyed my relationship with Max. I won't completely hate you if you're infatuated with Miss Poison Ivy. Just admit it.
Philip: You know what? You're right. I am interested an her.
Nick: What's going on?
Melanie: The police just arrested somebody for my Father's murder.
Nick: That's -- that's great.
Max: Who -- who is it?
Bo: Nicole Walker.
Max: Nicole killed my Father?
Bo: Well, based on the evidence, we have a strong case against her, enough to get the charges against Ma dropped.
Max: That's unbelievable. I'm happy for Ma.
Bo: Yeah, me too. I'm gonna go up and tell her. No hard feelings, right?
Melanie: What, are you trying to save your butt?
Bo: No. That's --
Melanie: Save it. I'm still gonna have my attorney file a harassment suit against you and Hope and the entire Salem P.D., so Happy Halloween, detective.
Nicole: I'm sorry, E.J. I-I wasn't using my head. I will definitely consider all three of us in the future.
E.J.: Future. Right.
Nicole: Don't say it like that. I will not be found guilty. I don't care what Bo and Hope say. I am innocent. [Cellphone ringing]
E.J.: It's my office. Excuse me. Yeah.
Nicole: How much longer do I have to stay in here?
Hope: Oh, as soon as you're finished with your attorney, we'll take you to get booked. Then it's off to a nice, cozy cell until your arraignment.
Nicole: You can't be serious. I'm pregnant.
Hope: Yes, I know. You only mention it every three minutes.
Nicole: Please. Hope, from one mother to another, can't you help me? There must be some kind of arrangement for women who are about to give birth.
Hope: Honestly, Nicole. You're not about to do anything. You're a very long way from delivering. And, no, there is no maternity wing.
Nicole: This is barbaric. I cannot live in a little, tiny cell. I'm in a delicate condition.
Hope: Well, maybe you should have thought of that before killing a man in cold blood.
Rafe: You drugged her, didn't you?
Sami: Well, I may have put some sleeping pills in her tea.
Rafe: May have?
Sami: She was driving me crazy. Okay, seriously, she was mean and she was rude and she wouldn't stop talking. I mean, she would not shut up. And she was invading my personal space.
Rafe: Are you stupid?
Rafe: You are in the witness protection program, not a damn sorority. Now, Hilda's job is to keep you safe, not to be your best friend. So, not only did you put your life at risk, but you put hers at risk.
Sami: Look, I think you're blowing this out of proportion, okay? It was just a harmless prank.
Rafe: Harmless? If I'd have been the killer, you'd be dead right now.
Sami: Hey, you know, would you stop lecturing me? I am the victim here.
Rafe: Yeah, well, Hilda may disagree with that.
Rafe: I got the feeling by the time she's done with you, you're gonna wish that I had been the killer. Hey.
Hilda: Rafe. Who -- what are you doing here? What happened? Uh, that tea really knocked me out. I think I was dru-- you!
Nicole: How can you be so heartless?
Hope: I didn't take a man's life, Nicole. You did.
Nicole: You cannot put me in a cell with hardened criminals. What about my baby's safety?
E.J.: Yeah, that's completely unacceptable. One second. I'm gonna call you back. Sorry, she's not going to jail. She needs be somewhere comfortable and stress-free with her feet up, not on a work detail.
Nicole: Work detail?
Hope: She'll be fine. She can sit and lie down as much as she wants. Not much else you can do in an 8x8 cell.
Nicole: And what about the other prisoners?
Hope: I have a feeling you can defend yourself. I'll do whatever I can to make sure that no harm comes to you or the baby. Let me know when you're done in here.
E.J.: Hey, just excuse me for a second. Hope, a word, please.
Hope: What is it, E.J.?
E.J.: Any update, news on Samantha?
Hope: I don't know.
E.J.: Are you any closer to catching the mayor's killer?
Hope: I'm sorry, but I can't comment on that case. Could you excuse me?
E.J.: [Sighs] Look, Nicole.
Nicole: Shut it. I don't want to hear it.
E.J.: All right, fine.
Nicole: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I'm not letting you off that easily. I am in here fighting for not only myself but for the life of our baby, and you're more concerned about Sami. Damn it, E.J., do you even care about me and my child?
Max: You're making a mistake here, Mel.
Melanie: No, it was your brother and his wife that made a mistake.
Bo: We were just doing our jobs.
Melanie: Ever since my Father was murdered, you've been treating me like dirt. I mean, never mind the fact that maybe perhaps I was mourning my Father's death. You've just been trying to make me pay for a crime that I did not commit.
Nick: You should calm down.
Bo: We had plenty of reason to suspect you, especially after you started sneaking around, planting evince on innocent people. And if my case against Nicole wasn't so strong, I'd definitely be looking at you as a possible killer.
Bo: Open your eyes, Max. Your little sister here has a mean streak. And if it wasn't for her lies and manipulations, you'd still be with Stephanie.
Stephanie: I take it back. I do hate you for being interested in Melanie.
Philip: I only meant that I find her interesting. She's abrasive, manipulative. But I think she's just a young woman acting out of fear.
Stephanie: And that's exactly how she wants you to feel.
Philip: Don't you trust my judgment? Look, in my business dealings, I run across a ton of ruthless people who really would kill their father to score a deal. I know how to read people's character. And while Melanie is complicated, I think she's just a young woman hiding her insecurities.
Stephanie: Then you really are deluded, just like Max.
Philip: Come on.
Stephanie: No, you come on. I haven't exactly lived a sheltered life either, Philip. I know when someone is just doing more than acting out of fear. [Cellphone ringing]
Philip: Excuse me. It's my Father. Hey, Dad. What? Really? [Sighs] Wow. Well, that's good for Caroline, right? Oh, okay. Yeah, I'll talk to you later.
Stephanie: What's going on? You have news about my grandmother?
Philip: Yeah, my Father just got off the phone with the D.A.'s office. They're dropping the charges against her.
Stephanie: That's great! What made them do that?
Philip: They arrested someone else.
Stephanie: Who? Wait. It was Melanie, wasn't it?
Philip: Mnh-mnh. No. In fact, it appears as if she's innocent. They arrested Nicole Walker for Trent's murder.
E.J.: Look, I know that you're scared, but I would appreciate it if you don't take it out on me.
Nicole: Too damn bad.
E.J.: I was asking about Samantha.
Nicole: You're putting her ahead of me and my baby, and why should I be surprised?
E.J.: Would you stop acting like a jealous bloody child, please?
Nicole: Do not condescend me.
E.J.: Then grow up, all right?! I've had just about enough of you. I am very concerned about you. I am also worried about Samantha, and I'm not gonna apologize for that. Are we clear?
Nicole: I am the one who needs help right now. Sami has a whole team of highly trained professionals looking after her bratty ass!
E.J.: Do you know why she does?! Because she was almost shot dead right in front of me. I watched the red light hit her head, all right?! And for a second, I thought I was gonna lose Johnny's mother. So don't flip out every time I mention her name, all right? She is a part of my life, and if you don't like that, then you and I have nothing in common except that child. Are we clear?!
Hilda: [Coughs] What kind of a dimwit are you?
Sami: Well, I-I just was trying to be helpful. I thought you needed your sleep.
Hilda: So you put sleeping pills in my tea? Is that what you did?
Hilda: What's wrong with you? Did you want to get yourself killed?
Sami: No, I wanted some peace and quiet.
Hilda: I have protected some of the most notorious underhanded snitches, but you, powder puff, are the world champ, and I think you need to be taught a lesson.
Sami: Help. I'm sorry! I'm sorry.
Hilda: Yeah, well, "sorry" isn't enough, you bleached-blond bimbo.
Sami: Hey, I happen to actually naturally -- you don't care.
Hilda: You know what? You're not worth it. I quit! I'm done!
Rafe: Hilda. Hilda, hey, hey. Listen, listen. I know that she's a pain, okay, but she needs your help here.
Hilda: I don't care if I'm put on desk duty for the rest of my life. I'm not staying another minute with this sneaky little spoiled brat.
Sami: [Exhales sharply]
Rafe: You should have got on your knees and begged her to stay.
Sami: Are you kidding? Good riddance. Seriously, now maybe they'll hire a professional. She was so annoying!
Rafe: You drugged her tea!
Sami: Well, I had to. She was driving me crazy. Seriously, if I had listened to her talk any more, my head was going to...explode.
Rafe: Like mine's doing now.
Sami: Come on. That guy Darrell, the vegan nutjob, and then they give me Hilda, babbling psychopath. And -- and then -- all I'm asking for is a professional -- you know, someone who can really just do their job.
Rafe: You think they're gonna send you a professional after the way you treated those two? You, Samantha Brady? You're lucky if they send you a Rottweiler next time.
Sami: You know, I happen to like dogs. And everybody calls me "Sami." So, uh, what do we do now?
Rafe: Well... Sami... I guess we're just gonna have to call Commander Brady and tell him what happened.
Sami: Is that really necessary?
Rafe: What's the matter -- you don't want your dad to know that an agent quit because you drugged her tea?
Sami: Well, yeah, I was sort of hoping he wouldn't have to find out.
Rafe: You're just daddy's little girl, aren't you?
Sami: No, hardly. I just don't want him to get upset.
Rafe: All right. Fine. I won't call Commander Brady and tell him what happened, but I do have to call command, actually, and report that Hilda resigned.
Sami: Thank you.
Rafe: My pleasure. I got to warn you, though. When I call my superiors, they're probably gonna send someone outside the Salem P.D. talent pool. They're gonna be a little bit savvier, and they're gonna see right through your little games.
Sami: As long as he's a professional, I don't care.
Rafe: Somehow, I doubt that.
Sami: You could be a little more sympathetic. I came face-to-face with a hit man, okay, in case you hadn't heard.
Rafe: Why do I get the feeling it was an even match?
Sami: I am in the witness protection program. I don't get to see my family, and I have been taken away from my children.
Rafe: With all due respect, I feel less sorry for you than I do the poor schmo who has to babysit you.
[Suspenseful music plays on television]
Rafe: Could you turn that down?
Rafe: Yes, sir. I understand. But I can't help it if Hilda walked out. Considering everything that she'd been put through, I don't blame her in the least. [Chuckles] What? You can't be serious. But, sir -- yes, sir. Okay, then.
Sami: Is there a problem with Hilda's replacement?
Rafe: [Chuckles] You might say that. I'm the replacement. [Woman screams on television]
Stephanie: Are you sure your dad got his facts right?
Philip: He heard it directly from the D.A.'s office.
Stephanie: Nicole Walker?
Philip: She's the killer. It's hard to believe, huh?
Stephanie: I was so sure it was Melanie.
Melanie: Are you sure this is okay?
Nick: Would you stop asking that?
Melanie: Okay, you're right. I'll just be grateful. And I'll be the perfect houseguest.
Nick: I'm just glad we're gonna be able to spend some time together, you know?
Melanie: I'm gonna go tell my brother we're leaving.
Melanie: Hey, Max. Me and Nick are gonna take off.
Melanie: I'm sorry about -- I'm sorry about everything with Stephanie. If there's anything I can do to fix it, you just let me know.
Max: Well, uh, I don't think it can be fixed. Look, uh, I'm gonna go say "what's up?" To Ma, see how she's doing.
Melanie: Yeah, give her my best.
Max: Sure. [Clears throat] Hey. Thanks for looking after my sister.
Nick: No problem. Ready to go?
Melanie: Uh, yeah. Yeah. I just -- I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around Nicole Walker killing my Dad.
Nick: Yeah. Me too.
Nicole: You can't really mean that, E.J. We talked about having it all together -- the white picket fence, remember? This baby is supposed to be the beginning of a new life for us.
E.J.: Don't you understand? I still want that. That's the whole point. All right? But this is not going to happen unless you accept that Samantha is going to be a part of my life, Nicole, because I am not gonna play slave to your insecurities anymore.
Nicole: Oh, you haven't given me good reason to be insecure?
E.J.: All right, fine. Enough of this, okay? If you want to go ahead and sabotage your own life, you go and do that, but let me tell you something -- my son or my daughter is not going to be born in prison, all right? Now, whatever happens to you after that, the courts can decide.
Nicole: E.J., you can't leave me in here. E.J., wait! I -- I didn't kill Trent. I swear. I didn't. It was someone else. [Crying] It was someone else.
Melanie: Oh, shoot. I forgot my purse.
Nick: Okay. Well, I'll go get car.
Melanie: Okay. Thanks. You are a lucky little girl.
E.J.: Did you do it? Did you kill Trent?
Nick: Who the hell do you think you are, Chelsea?
Chelsea: Have you lost your mind?
Nick: Get out!
Daniel: We need you, Kate -- your kids, Chelsea...me.
