Nick: Melanie. [Slurring] How you doing?
Melanie: Now, seeing as how you just got out of jail for driving under the influence, shouldn't I be asking you that?
Bo: Bad time?
Kayla: Never, for you. How are you? Hey, listen, what's going on with that Trent Robbins case? Anything new from Mom?
Bo: I'm taking a statement. The witness is a patient on the third floor, so thought I'd stop in, see how you're doing.
Kayla: I'm okay. I'm just worried about Mom. Anything that could help the case?
Bo: Chasing down other suspects. Oh, there's one now.
E.J.: You were a bit quiet on the drive over.
Nicole: Let's just get this over with.
E.J.: It's pretty straightforward. From what I understand, parental paternity testing is a lot simpler than it used to be.
Nicole: Ooh, what a break.
E.J.: Nicole, please, I do wish you would try and understand that --
Nicole: I know, after everything you've been through, you just want to be sure. It's like a pattern for us. Kind of hard to miss.
E.J.: What do you mean, a pattern?
Nicole: Well, think about it. We go on a date, and it ends before it starts. We conceive a child, and instead of feeling, god forbid, happy and excited or all that fun stuff, it's one, big nightmare.
E.J.: Look, Nicole --
Nicole: And all for one reason. Sami Brady.
Sami: [Sighs] There you are. I've been dying. Lucas, I have so much I have to tell you. Oh, my God. When you hear this, you are going to freak out. You're gonna go nuts.
Lucas: Just let me get some coffee before I go nuts.
Sami: No, there's no time for coffee. You have to sit down. Sit down 'cause you are gonna freak out when you hear this.
Lucas: What? What is going on? What's your problem now?
Sami: Oh, this is not just a problem. this is the mother of all problems.
Lucas: What? No, no, let me guess. It's about E.J., right?
Sami: Oh, E.J.? You couldn't possibly be referring to the same bucket that got not just one woman pregnant but two?
Lucas: Who are you talking about? Whoa. Holy -- are you saying that --
Sami: I am saying exactly that. I am not the only woman in Salem that E.J. DiMera knocked up. He got Nicole pregnant, too.
Stephanie: Hello, is Detective Brady in? In a half-hour. Okay, um, I'll call back. Thanks.
Max: [Clears throat] You want to tell me where you're going with that?
Lacey: Hi, Dr. Carver.
Lacey: Hey, Theo. He sure loves that little giraffe.
Lexie: Yeah. Thanks for coming, Lacey.
Lacey: Yeah, I got your message. Do you want me to watch Theo today when Mr. Carver makes his big announcement?
Lexie: Actually, no. That's not why I called. Abe and I are taking him with us.
Lacey: Oh. So, do you want me to tag along and keep an eye him?
Lexie: Lacey, I asked you to meet me here because I wanted to tell you in person. Abe and I will no longer be needing your services.
Lacey: What? Y-you don't mean-
Lexie: I do. You're fired.
Stephanie: I'm going to the police.
Max: The hell you are. If you turn in my Father's wallet, you're gonna implicate my sister as being the murderer.
Stephanie: Look, about last night --
Max: Didn't I tell you that she was innocent? That I know for a fact.
Stephanie: Yes, but --
Max: Then you accused me of being the murderer. So, which is it? Is it me? Is it my sister? You got to make your mind here.
Stephanie: Look, I told you I was sorry. I should not have accused you. It's just when you told me that you knew for a fact that Melanie had nothing to do with it --
Max: What, you thought I was lying?
Stephanie: We both know that Melanie put this wallet in my purse and that the only way she could have gotten it is if... Max, you need to stop protecting her. Here. No matter who murdered your father, that's still a piece of evidence, and we have to turn it into the police today.
Lacey: I-I don't believe this. Y-you can't just fire me.
Lexie: After what happened yesterday with Theo, we have no choice.
Lacey: But it was an accident. You said so yourself. I-I-I turned my back for one minute, and he was gone.
Lexie: That's the problem, Lacey. You shouldn't have turned your back, not even for a second.
Lacey: Fine. I-I made a mistake. Who -- who doesn't? Look, I said I'm sorry. Ca-- can't you just give me another chance?
Lexie: Look, this is my son we're talking about. What if, God forbid, something terrible had happened to him? He could have been h by a car. He could have been kidnapped. Would I have been given a second chance with him?
Bo: Smart move, Walker, keeping your attorney close at hand.
Nicole: Go away, Bo.
Bo: Not until we figure out who murdered your first husband. Any ideas?
Nicole: What about your sainted mother? I hear she's in custody.
Bo: Not anymore. 'Cause she's not guilty.
Nicole: Well, she had motive.
Bo: So did half of Salem, including yourself. And considering you tried to kill one of your other husbands, fingering you for this murder -- not so much of a stretch.
Nicole: Even if you have zero evidence on me, it could be a career killer, Bo. Although, your career's kind of tanking anyway, isn't it?
Bo: I'll be watching you.
Nicole: [Scoffs] And to think he was once my adoring stepson. Is that creepy or what? Speaking of creepy, how long until we take this paternity test? I guess we are early, right? So... maybe we can discuss the colors of the nursery?
E.J.: Um... Nicole, you're right about Samantha.
Nicole: Oh, my gosh. He speaks. Let's stop the presses.
E.J.: After what she put me through with those twins, I need to know that I'm the father of that baby. I realize that it's incredibly offensive to you, and I'm truly sorry.
Nicole: Apology accepted.
E.J.: Thank you.
Nicole: But you need to understand one monumentally important thing. I am not Sami Brady.
E.J.: Nicole... but you're a lot alike...
E.J.: ...And that worries me, frankly.
Lucas: Wait, wait, wait. Back up for a second. Nicole is --
Sami: Pregnant. Knocked up. Hosting an alien
Lucas: And you're telling me that E.J. is the father.
Sami: So she claims. I was at the mansion when she was breaking the news to E.J. And, of course, I didn't believe her, so I lifted up her shirt. And, yes, sure enough, there is a baby bump there. And then she had the nerve to say it was kicking. Like, oh, sure, it'd be kicking at this point.
Lucas: Hey, you know what, baby bumps kick. That's what they do.
Sami: I can't believe he did this. How could he do this to me? How could he let one slip past the goalie with that horrible woman?
Sami: It's not funny!
Lucas: Well, you know, it could be good news for you. Relax.
Sami: Good news? What are you smoking?
Lucas: Come on, now. If Nicole has a DiMera heir, then the old man will go after that baby, leave your baby alone.
Sami: Oh, great. Thanks, Lucas. I feel so much better.
Lucas: You know what? Nicole told me she couldn't have babies. What's up with that?
Sami: Yeah, I know. I brought that up, too, but she said that the doctor said something had changed or whatever. Who cares? Anyway, the point is, now she's gonna be passing on her genes to some poor, innocent soul. I can't believe E.J. did this.
Lucas: So he slept with two different women and got them both pregnant at the same time. What are the odds of that?
Sami: Testosterone's off the charts, I guess.
Lucas: [Laughing] I guess so. Is -- is he freaked out or anything? Except he still doesn't know that you're pregnant with his baby, does he?
Sami: No. No. Because now that he is so busy with Nicole and her brat-to-be, I'm not going to tell him.
Lucas: No, you can't do that. We've been over this. You can't keep this secret forever. You have to tell him the truth.
Lacey: I understand that you're upset, Dr. Carver, but you have to know how much I love your son. He and I are best buds, right, Theo?
Lexie: Please don't involve Theo, please.
Lacey: Why is this all my fault? What about Theo? He should have known better than to run off.
Lexie: He's a little boy. He gets easily distracted, as you well know.
Lacey: Dr. Carver, I really need this job. My student loans are due. All my credit cards are maxed out.
Lexie: I'm sorry.
Lacey: How am I gonna pay my bills, my rent? Please, don't --
Abe: Is everything all right?
Lacey: No, it's not.
Abe: Well, Lacey, this is your final check. We do wish you the best.
Lacey: The hell you do.
Abe: Well, that went well.
Lexie: I'm just glad it's done. I hope she can let it go and move on.
Abe: You know, we made the best decision, Lex, for our family.
Max: I can't do that.
Max: Rat out my sister.
Stephanie: You have no choice. Look, we don't know for a fact that Melanie killed your father, but she definitely planted that wallet in my purse, which means she's hiding something. Why else would she want to set me up?
Max: Okay. I'll take care of it then.
Stephanie: You mean, the wallet?
Stephanie: What are you gonna do?
Max: What I should have done in the first place. I have to destroy it.
Stephanie: You can't!
Nick: I'm better now that you're here.
Melanie: Flattering, but I'm pretty sure that's just the alcohol talking. Isn't it a little early to be drinking?
Nick: I'm okay.
Melanie: Okay? What, so you just went on a bender and got behind the wheel, and now you're having a beer for breakfast, so I'm pretty sure --
Nick: Melanie, I'm fine. It's a beer. It's not a big deal.
Melanie: Yeah, but it's not you, Nick. I mean, okay, I don't know that much about you, but that I know. You helped me in Marseilles, and I'm gonna help you now. So, what's going on with you?
Nick: [Exhales] I think you know.
Stephanie: You can't destroy evidence.
Max: This is my sister we're talking about here.
Stephanie: What about your Ma? This could be the only piece of evidence that could clear her. Are you willing to throw away the one chance at freedom she has?
Max: Ma's gonna be fine. She's gonna get off. She didn't kill anybody.
Stephanie: Of course she didn't, but she is a suspect. And that wallet could be the only thing that could clear her. Max, her charges could be dropped today. Isn't that what you want?
Max: You're right. Ma's freedom -- that's my number-one priority.
Maggie: Okay. [Gasps] Look who's here! Hi!
Maggie: You got to be so proud of this guy. How about it, Theo? Are you proud of your daddy? He's gonna be mayor. Is that cool or what?
Abe: [Laughing] Well, Maggie, I got to tell you. Thank you so much for letting us use Chez Rouge to kick off this campaign.
Maggie: I wouldn't have it any other way. How about some cookies, big guy? I have some in the back, just for you. Come on with me.
Lexie: Um... Theo, honey, it's okay. You go with Maggie. Mommy and Daddy will be right here. Go on. It's okay.
Maggie: Well, we'll go get some cookies, and you can come right back out. And I hope you like chocolate chip.
Abe: [Sighs] You okay?
Lexie: Every time I look at him, I think about losing him yesterday at the park and all the terrible things that could have happened.
Abe: But they didn't happen. Theo's gonna be fine.
Lexie: Yes. Yes. Theo's fine. Theo's fine. And my husband, the future mayor of Salem, is about to deliver the biggest speech of his career. Honey, I'm so proud of you.
Abe: You know, with you by my side, I am very, very confident. Nothing is gonna stop me from winning this race. Nothing.
Lacey: [Scoffs] Honest Abe my ass. Yes, can I have the number for Mayor Marino's office, please?
Nicole: So, on top of you not trusting me, you compare me to my least favorite person in the universe.
Nicole: Wow, you are doing wonders for my ego, E.J.
E.J.: What I meant was --
Nicole: What, hmm? That I'm like Sami in only the best possible ways and that we're both so sweet and adorable and just a barrel of laughs? You know, E.J... when I found out I was pregnant, I didn't know what to do or how you would react. I was scared to death. And -- and then when I -- when I finally calmed down and I really thought about it, I had this sense of peace. And for the first time, I know that I am doing the right thin this baby is a new beginning for me. And it could be for you, too, but all you do is you give me grief. All you care about is yourself and how it affects your life.
Kayla: Okay, Nicole. Are you ready for your ultrasound?
E.J.: Kayla, we're, uh, having a paternity test, as well.
Kayla: I see. All right. Have you seen a doctor since you've been pregnant?
Nicole: Uh, Dr. Jonas. He did some tests and told me I was pregnant.
Kayla: Great. Okay, why don't you go on in, and I'll be right there?
E.J.: [Exhales deeply]
Kayla: Father-to-be, I assume.
E.J.: Yeah. Apparently. [Cellphone ringing] Sorry. Would you excuse me? I need to take this. Hello.
Kayla: Nicole... does Stefano know about this baby?
Sami: You can quit dispensing advice now. This is my life and my baby.
Lucas: It is not just your life, all right? We share a daughter together. It's our life.
Sami: You know what? Thank God Allie is not a part of this.
Lucas: This kid is gonna be her sibling.
Sami: How is that relevant?
Lucas: If you lie to E.J., you're gonna lie to her, and I don't want that, all right? I don't want my kid involved with Sami's schemes.
Sami: Oh, stop it, all right? Give me some credit, please. Look, I am not gonna involve my children in any of my...schemes.
Lucas: You're just gonna lie till the end of time, is that it?
Sami: If I have to.
Lucas: What did your parents say?
Sami: Uh, is that Allie? Did you hear something?
Lucas: No, it's not the kids. They're asleep. You know that. The monitor's right there. Don't do that.
Sami: Yeah, no, I guess you're right. I am so hungry. I think I'm gonna pass out if I don't get something to eat.
Lucas: So, you didn't even tell them, did you? Didn't even tell your parents. Marlena and Roman have no idea.
Sami: They would have said that I should tell him the truth no matter what.
Lucas: Aha. You see? And they would have been right.
Sami: My Mom knows that Nicole is pregnant.
Lucas: How'd she find out about that?
Sami: I guess John told her. You know what she said? You know what her reaction was? She said, "thank God it's not you." How am I supposed to tell her that I'm pregnant after something like that?
Lucas: All right, so you're not gonna tell your parents. You're not gonna tell the baby's father. You want to lose E.J. to Nicole? Is that what you want? 'Cause that's what's gonna happen.
Sami: I'd sacrifice anything, including my feelings, to make sure that I don't raise another DiMera baby.
Abe: Well, I tell you, Evan, I am so pleased that you're in charge of my campaign.
Evan: I believe in you, Abe. I think you're exactly what Salem needs.
Lexie: And the sad thing about it is that Theo really seemed to like Lacey. But not as much as he likes Chelsea Brady. Did you know that she's his new O.T. assistant?
Maggie: Yes, I heard.
Lexie: Yeah. I mean, that's where he went when he just left the park. Maggie, he crossed the street and found Chelsea at the hospital.
Maggie: Oh, bless his heart.
Lexie: Yeah. I know. It's a good thing I resigned as chief of staff. At least now I have time to look for a new sitter.
Maggie: In the meantime, if you're ever in a bind, please call me. I love this little guy. I'd be glad to help out.
Lexie: Oh, thank you, Maggie.
Maggie: Oh, I'll tell you. I think you're gonna he to find a sitter soon, though, because I think it's gonna get very busy in the Carver household, especially when Abe kicks the current mayor to the curb. [Both laughing]
Lacey: It's an honor to meet you, Mayor Marino.
Mayor Marino: Thank you, Miss Hansen. I understand you have so information for me.
Lacey: I do. And I thought it would be important for you to hear it before Abe Carver announces his candidacy, becomes your opponent.
Mayor Marino: That will be any minute now, from what I hear.
Lacey: Yes, I know. And what I have to tell you about the Carver family -- you might find it very useful.
Melanie: Okay. I don't understand. How would I know what's going on with you?
Nick: You've been around, Melanie. It's everything. It's all this bad stuff that's been going down lately.
Melanie: Because of me.
Nick: That's not what I'm saying.
Melanie: Nick, it's the truth. I mean, I got you involved in my screwed-up life. You were having a fine old time till you ran into me.
Nick: It's not your fault.
Melanie: Well, you got shot in Marseilles because of me. And now you're involved in this whole mess with my dead Father. It's not really the kind of thing that friends do for each other. We are still friends, right?
Melanie: Okay, then let me give you a little friendly advice. How about you just stay the hell away from me?
Max: Uh, can we come in?
Bo: Yeah, yeah. Come on in. What brings you guys here?
Max: Uh, well, I thought you might need this. It's Trent's wallet.
Bo: How the hell did you guys get this?
Maggie: There you go. Would you like a button? There you go. Hi, thanks for coming.
Evan: It's time, Abe. All set?
Abe: [Exhales sharply] All right. Here we go. This is it.
Lexie: Go get 'em.
Evan: Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Evan Sayers, and I'm here to tell you about our amazing candidate running for Mayor of Salem, Mr. Abraham Carver. [Cheers and applause] It's rare in politics that we're given an opportunity to vote for such an honest, hardworking, dedicated person. Abe Carver is that man. He's a loving family man who cares about the people, and he's ready to give his heart and soul to getting this great city back on track. [Cheers and applause] Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the next Mayor of Salem, Mr. Abraham Carver? [Cheers and applause]
Abe: Thank you. [Cheers and applause continue] Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, everyone. Thank you all. Thanks. Thank you for coming. [Camera shutters clicking]
Kayla: I know. It's a little cold. So sorry.
E.J.: Everybody decent?
Kayla: Ah, just in the nick of time. Okay, little one. Let's take a look at you.
E.J.: He's moving around a lot.
Kayla: Or she.
Nicole: That's my baby?
Kayla: Okay, here we go. Ah, look right there. We have the heart beating nicely. We have a leg, arm her oh, and a little foot.
Kayla: You know, Nicole, everything looks fine. Um, I assume that you'd like a picture?
Nicole: Yeah, I-I'd love one. Thank you.
Kayla: Great. Well, you know, it's too early to determine the sex of the baby on this ultrasound, but I'm sure you'll be able to tell on the next one.
Nicole: Doesn't matter to me.
E.J.: Doesn't matter to me, either. Just, um, I need to know that I'm the father.
Nicole: He doesn't think this is his baby.
Kayla: So I gather, since you mentioned the paternity test. Well, as you may know, we use a non-invasive procedure now. We just draw blood from both of you, and we compare it with the fetal DNA that's found in the mother's blood sample. There's no risk to the baby or the mother.
E.J.: Good. How -- how soon until we get the results?
Nicole: Oh, who cares? Let's just do this, okay? Put the poor guy out of his miry.
Kayla: Okay. Here's your baby's first picture. And I'll get a nurse.
Nicole: Thank you. Oh, my gosh.
E.J.: Nicole, I am really sorry that I upset you.
Nicole: I'll be fine. As soon as I prove to you that I am not like Sami. That is why I agreed to this test. I just -- I want you to know that -- that you can trust the mother of your child.
Lucas: Well, you know what? You're right. It's very noble of you. Protect your babies at all cost. When's that maternal instinct of yours gonna quit?
Sami: Don't mock me, okay?
Lucas: Well, then don't be an idiot about this. You got to be honest. Come on, there's no way you're gonna hide your pregnancy from E.J.
Sami: Yes, I'll hide -- I'll figure it out. I'll think of something.
Lucas: Wait a minute. You share custody of Johnny. What's gonna happen when he comes to pick up the kid?
Sami: What? Nothing.
Lucas: What are you gonna do, hide behind a sofa, a plant, anything you get your hands on?
Sami: Yeah, if I have to. I'll think of something.
Lucas: You can't do this. You got to be honest with him, all right? Just for your own sake, for Allie's sake, and Johnny's sake. Come on, you can't live a lie like this and not have it affect them.
Sami: My children will be fine, Lucas. They are my first priority, and they always will be.
Lucas: When are you gonna face reality, Sami? This isn't gonna work.
Sami: I'm gonna make it work. And you have to promise me something, Lucas Horton.
Lucas: No, no, no, no. I am not getting involved with this.
Sami: Good! Don't get involved. Promise me that you will respect my wishes and not tell anyone that I am pregnant.
Bo: How'd you get ahold of this wallet?
Max: We kind of... happened on it.
Bo: Hap-- what does that mean?
Max: We found it when we were...
Bo: When you were what?
Stephanie: Max, just --
Bo: Stephanie, why don't you tell me?
Max: No, I'll tell you.
Bo: I want to hear it from her. Steph?
Stephanie: Someone planted Trent's wallet in my purse.
Bo: Does that someone happen to be your little sister?
Stephanie: Yes. I think she's guilty, and she dumped the wallet to throw off the cops.
Max: You don't know that.
Bo: When did this happen?
Stephanie: I'm pretty sure it was yesterday, here at the station. Melanie and I got into it after you brought Max in.
Bo: Where were you, exactly?
Stephanie: In the outer office. I left it right over on that table, right where Melanie was.
Bo: The wallet was missing when we found the body.
Stephanie: Which means whoever took it is the murderer.
Bo: Wait here. I'm taking this down to the lab, have it dusted for fingerprints.
Max: Maybe you'll find something that will help Ma's case, right?
Stephanie: [Sighs] I know you're upset. Trust me, whatever happens, we did the right thing.
Nick: I don't think I can stay away from you.
Melanie: Yeah? Why not?
Nick: Because I'm drawn to you, like a moth to a flame.
Melanie: [Laughs] Okay, you didn't just say that.
Nick: That's right, isn't it? I'm the moth. You're the flame. That's right. That's definitely right.
Melanie: No, it's lame. Maybe that's why I like you. Because you say stuff like that, and you totally get away with it. Kind of. That and you're pretty cute.
Nick: Come on.
Nick: Do you really think I'm cute?
Melanie: Yeah. [Chuckles] Especially when you smile like that and one side goes up more than the other. It's a little bit sexy.
Abe: Thank you. Thank you. I am honored and humbled to stand before you today and declare my candidacy for Mayor of the City of Salem. I would like to start by thanking Evan for his unflagging support and for his kind words. And while I'd like to think that I possess some of the admirable qualities that he attributed to me, I am still a man who --
Lacey: A man who blames innocent people for his own stupidity, who lets his pushy wife walk all over him.
Reporter: Can I get your name, miss?
Maggie: Young lady, you have no right to talk about Abe Carver like that.
Abe: Maggie, I'll take care of this. Lacey, this is not the time or the place to bring up personal matters.
Lacey: Oh, I totally disagree. The voters of Salem deserve to know the truth before it's too late.
Cameraman: Can I get a picture over here?
Reporter: Miss, could you state your name and your relationship to the Carvers?
Lacey: My name is Lacey Hansen. I'm the Carvers' babysitter. Well, at least until today. The truth is, I spent more time with the Carvers' son Theo than either one of them. Theo was recently diagnosed with autism, but the Carvers were never around. That little boy's care was left entirely up to me.
Lexie: That is not true! She's lying! She's trying to get back at us for firing her!
Abe: This young woman is disgruntled. She's resentful and hurt because we had to let her go today. And that was because --
Lacey: That was because your wife saw how you looked at me, and she couldn't take it anymore.
Abe: My God.
Lacey: You couldn't take your eyes off me, could you, Abe? Guess you didn't notice that it made me sick.
Lacey: But even so, I ignored the disgusting little looks, the flirty little smiles because I love Theo.
Maggie: Please, someone get this girl out of my restaurant!
Lacey: And speaking of Theo, if you ask me, the Carvers use autism as an excuse not to discipline him.
Abe: Don't do this, Lacey!
Reporter: Can you give us an example?
Lacey: Yesterday, I was in the park with Theo, and he took off without telling me. I called the Carvers. Well, they both went off on me. The fact is, Theo has no respect for authority, and he does whatever he wants. He throws temper tantrums on a daily basis.
Lexie: Stop it! Stop it! You're a liar! It's all lies!
Lacey: And instead of taking responsibility for their son's behavior, the Carvers are blaming me. That's why Dr. Carver fired me this morning! [Indistinct murmurings]
Reporter: How long did you work with them?
Evan: Miss Hansen, we need you to leave. You are not going to continue to slander this man. Do you understand what I'm saying?
Lacey: I ask you, how effective is a cowardly man like Abe Carver gonna be as our mayor? He can't even control his own son! How is he gonna run this city?
Abe: Don't do this, Lacey.
Lacey: Salem deserves to have a mayor who can stand up and fight for all of us. And I am here to tell you that Abe Carver is not that man. [Crowd gasps]
Maggie: Well, you know what?
Reporter: Mr. Carver, can we get a statement?
Reporter 1: Dr. Carver, could we get --
Evan: No statements. No quotes. Just leave them the hell -- back up! What part of "no" don't you understand?
Nick: Wait, hold up. Can you just repeat that for me again? You said -- you were saying I was cute and what else?
Melanie: And sexy.
Melanie: But I can see it's totally not going to your head.
Nick: No, no, no. Of course not.
Melanie: The thing is... you're also nice, Nick, way too nice to be hanging out with me.
Nick: You need to give yourself more credit. Since the day I first met you and I took you to that dumpy jail cell in Marseilles, I thought you were awesome, not just, uh, beautiful and smart, funny.
Nick: I wouldn't take a bullet for just anyone.
Melanie: [Chuckles] Yeah, you have done an awful lot for me, more than, like, anyone ever. I think I should probably thank you again.
Nick: What does that mean?
Max: What's the verdict?
Bo: You may have helped Ma's case.
Max: That's great.
Bo: And implicated yourselves.
Bo: The only prints on the dead man's wallet are from the two of you.
Abe: It's Marino. That bastard put her up to this, and he's not gonna get away with it. I am gonna fight that son of a -- I am gonna fight him all the way, until I'm sitting in the mayor's chair.
Lexie: No. No, you won't. I can't do this, Abe. She made it sound like we're incapable of raising our own son. And what she said about Theo...
Abe: Sweetheart, that's unconscionable. But that's all part of campaigning, Lex. We talked about this.
Lexie: No, I can't listen to anyone telling lies about my little boy. I can't handle it. Come on, sweetheart. Let's go. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Come on.
Kayla: Well, um, here we go. Uh, lab results.
Kayla: Make an appointment with an obstetrician as soon as you can.
Nicole: I will. Thank you.
Kayla: Good luck.
Nicole: Well, now that that's settled... I guess I should ask... [Sighs] You know what? That's too needy. That is not who I am.
E.J.: Nicole, I'm sorry. Go ahead. What did you want to ask?
Nicole: I can, uh, either do this on my own -- which I can, you know. I'm perfectly capable. Or... we can be in this together. It's all up to you.
Sami: Hey. Listen, have you thought about what I said?
Lucas: Yeah, I have, and I'm not happy about it.
Sami: Come on, Lucas. This is not a big deal. You know, it's not like some big hardship. All I'm asking is for you to keep your mouth shut.
Lucas: You know, this makes no sense.
Sami: It does to me. Look, Lucas, I am asking you. I am begging you to not tell anybody that I am pregnant. Will you please, please do that for me?
Lucas: [Sighs] Fine. Fine, yes. I will keep your little secret.
Lucas: But I'm telling you right now. You better figure out a way out of this mess because I'm not keeping it for long. You understand me? I mean it.
Sami: Thank you. Oh, God. There has to be another way. Maybe there is.
Stefano: I do not get nervous, Mayor.
Mayor Marino: I think you'll be nervous as hell if carver gets elected.
Kate: So, what did they say? Is it good news or bad news?
Nicole: Wait a minute. Are you saying you want to marry me?
