Sami: You didn't.

Lucas: No, I was going to, but I changed my mind.

Sami: Oh, God. I can't believe you did that to me. I've been going crazy.

Lucas: It's not my place to tell him. I mean, I think you should know E.J. has a right to know and you're gonna be the one to tell him.

Max: You know what? I got a great idea.

Stephanie: Yeah?

Max: How would you like it if we stayed in bed all day?

Stephanie: I could possibly be convinced.

Max: Poss-- possibly.

Stephanie: Okay, maybe I could be convinced.

Max: Mm-hmm. I just want to thank you.

Stephanie: For what?

Max: For taking my mind off everything.

Stephanie: Your mom's gonna be fine. They're gonna clear her name, and all of this is just gonna be a bad memory. You have to believe that.

Max: I'm trying to.

Stephanie: Look, she made bail. She got to come home, sleep in her own bed. The worst is over.

Max: I hope you're right.

Bo: If we don't make any progress, Ma's gonna end up behind bars again.

Roman: Yeah, only this time it could be for good.

Bo: Hey, Smith? Come here. Any luck tracing those fibers we found on Robbins?

Smith: Not yet.

Bo: Oh, come on, man. Somebody's got to make this happen, fast.

Smith: Yes, sir.

Bo: Appreciate it.

Roman: You know what, little brother? My money is on Nicole.

Bo: You think?

Roman: Wouldn't be the first time she did something like this.

Bo: Victor.

Roman: That is exactly what I'm saying.

Bo: I'm not so sure. Robbins' daughter -- she's at the top of my suspect list.

Trent: Hello, sweetheart.

Melanie: Dad.

Trent: I was so pleased to get your call.

Melanie: Let's just get this over with, okay?

Trent: Well, only you can make that happen.

Melanie: Why, Dad? Why do I always have to fix your mistakes?

Trent: Because you love me. You do love me, don't you?

Melanie: You have no idea how much.

Roman: Melanie, huh?

Bo: Yeah. She's managed to fly under the radar. We don't know much about her. And I don't trust her.

Roman: She is a wild card, that's for sure.

Officer: All right, all right. Knock it off. Calm down. Just calm down.

Nick: How many fingers am I holding up? Two. I mean, three. [Laughs]

Bo: What the hell is going on here?

Nick: Oh, hey! I know these guys!

Officer: I picked him up at McClain and University. Ran a red. Blood alcohol -- .16.

Nick: Am I in trouble?

Roman: Well, that would be a pretty good assumption, Nick.

Bo: What the hell is going on with you, man? What are you thinking? This isn't like you.

Nick: Oh, you know, my life sucks a little bit. You know, I don't -- I don't have a girlfriend. I'm behind on my credit-card bills. I chipped my tooth on this popcorn last night. Have you ever done that where you chip your tooth on popcorn? Oh, and to top it all off, it's because of me that Trent Robbins is dead.

Bo: What's that?

Nick: Trent Robbins is dead. That's what I said. [Laughs] That rhymes now, doesn't it?

Roman: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. And you're saying that's your fault?

Nick: Completely. Totally, completely my fault.

Trent: So, show me how much you love your old man. Bail me out of this little jam I'm in.

Melanie: I can't believe you're asking me to do this again.

Trent: Well, if things had gone smoother in France, this wouldn't be a problem.

Melanie: It's just money, Dad.

Trent: It's a lot of money.

Melanie: This is so wrong. I'm your little girl. You're supposed to protect me from stuff like this.

Trent: I gave you a cushy life, and how did you repay me? You lied, you stole, and you whored your way around Europe.

Melanie: It wasn't like that, Dad. And even if it was, aren't you supposed to love me anyways?

Trent: This isn't about me or my feelings. Why can't you see that? I have done so much for you. You owe me.

Melanie: Are you kidding? I didn't ask to be born into this sorry world. I don't owe you anything. And you gave me everything? Isn't that what parents are supposed to do for their kids? Your love is so conditional. There are so many strings attached. That's why I am the way I am. You made me this way.

Trent: Don't talk to me like that. You obey me. It's your duty. Now come with me right now.

Melanie: Don't touch me. Don't touch me ever again.

Trent: Put that thing down before somebody gets hurt.

Melanie: No.

Trent: Put down the knife. What are you doing with that thing anyway?

Melanie: I can't let you hurt me again.

Trent: I haven't hurt you. I wouldn't.

Melanie: You did.

Trent: Never. You're my pride and joy. My -- you're so beautiful, and you're so smart.

Melanie: What are you talking about? You just called me a whore.

Trent: Well, I didn't turn you into an internet bimbo.

Melanie: Yes, you did. Why do you think I made that thing in the first place?

Trent: You crave attention? Claude will give you plenty of that.

Melanie: If I did, if I went to your buddy right now and I let him put his slimy hands all over me, will you leave me alone after that? Do you promise to stop gambling and to never make me prove my love for you like this again, ever?

Trent: Yes, I promise.

Melanie: You're a liar, Dad.

Nick: Cuff me. [Chuckles] Read me my Melinda Rights.

Roman: All right, Officer Lopez, I got it. I got it. Nick, just take it easy, okay?

Nick: Okay, I'll do it. I'll do it, Roman. It's all right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you can and will say will be used against you in the court -- how the hell does that go? I can't remember the rest of it.

Bo: Hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Why do you say you're responsible for Robbins' death?

Nick: Because, Bo, I'm the one --

Roman: Look, look, have a seat. Have a seat.

Nick: Why he came to Salem in the first place, you know? Cause if he didn't know about my prototype, then he wouldn't have come to Salem. And if he hadn't have come to Salem, then Max never would have met him. And if Max had never have met him, he wouldn't have found out that he had a sister and he wouldn't have gone to France. And if France -- if Melanie hadn't come here, then none of this would have happened. This is really complicated.

Bo: What does Melanie have to do with this?

Nick: [Sighs] I got to -- I got to go to the bathroom.

Bo: Out that door. Out to the right.

Roman: Lopez.

Stephanie: What's wrong?

Max: How's that for a headline?

Stephanie: Oh, my God.

Max: It's nice, huh?

Stephanie: How can they write this stuff?

Max: I knew the media was gonna pick up on that.

Stephanie: They make her sound like she's been convicted. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Max: Well, innocent doesn't sell newspapers.

Stephanie: Well, this is all speculation, Max.

Max: You know, Pete was saying that guy from channel 15 was hanging around the pub and asking a lot of questions.

Stephanie: He didn't say anything, did he?

Max: No, at least Ma's got a loyal staff. They wouldn't say anything.

Stephanie: I just want all this to go away so we can move on.

Max: Yeah, well, it won't. Not until Bo and Roman find the real murderer.

Melanie: No!

Trent: What are you gonna do with that?

Melanie: I don't know.

Trent: You're not gonna hurt me. Come on, put it down. Look, I meant what I said. I'll work things out with the money. Now that I see how distraught you are, I withdraw my request. Please, put the knife down. Let's go home.

Officer: Okay, Fallon?

Nick: Dolor de Cabeza.

Roman: All right. So, what do you think about Nick? I mean, he is still one of our suspects.

Bo: It's not him. He's a good kid.

Roman: I know he's a good kid, but, unfortunately, he's got a D.U.I. under his belt right now. And, Bo...I know I said before I didn't think he did it, but I think we need to keep an open mind. Maybe he was drinking away some guilt.

Bo: Oh, come on, man. He's practically family.

Roman: Explain Willow Stark.

Bo: It was an accident, not murder. She hit her head on a rock.

Roman: All right. All I'm saying is I don't think we can close the book on Nick just yet.

Maggie: Drinking and driving?

Nick: Oh, God.

Maggie: Young man, what on earth were you thinking?

Stephanie: I feel helpless, like we should be doing something.

Max: What are we gonna do that the cops aren't doing?

Stephanie: I don't know. But it couldn't hurt to do a little digging on our own.

Max: Your dad's working the case, too, right?

Stephanie: Yeah.

Max: Do you really think that he wants his own daughter involved, poking around, asking questions? Let's say we do get close to finding the real killer and then they know that we're on to them. Think about it, Stephanie. They already put a knife in Trent. They wouldn't think twice about doing the same thing to us.

Stephanie: We'll be careful. If it gets dangerous, we'll back off.

Max: I'm not arguing about this right now.

Stephanie: What is it with you? I figured you'd want to do anything to clear your mom's name.

Max: I would, but I think we should stay out of this and let the police handle it.

Stephanie: Max, this isn't like you. What's really going on here?

Sami: Lucas, I'm not telling E.J. anything.

Lucas: Well, you have to. As much as I loathe the man, he's got a right to know about his kid. Just like I had a right to know about Will.

Sami: You're gonna bring that up now? Is that what this is about?

Lucas: I missed out on a lot with Will -- his first steps, his first words. I'll have to live with that for the rest of my life.

Sami: I thought we had moved past that.

Lucas: Maybe you have, but I haven't.

Sami: This is a completely --

Lucas: And, yes, I forgave you. I did forgive you for it, but I'm not gonna forget.

Sami: You have to be able to see that this is a totally different situation, right?

Lucas: You got to stop doing this. You got to stop messing with people's lives, Sami. You got to grow up and take responsibility.

Sami: I don't know why I'm even talking to you about this.

Lucas: Well, you're talking to me because of your great future with E.J., right? Not that I care. You guys are gonna be together. Well, he's the one you want to be with, Sami, great. Don't you think you should be honest with him? You should be able to trust him, right?

Maggie: I am so disappointed in you, Nicholas.

Nick: My head is killing me, Aunt Maggie. Can we talk about this later?

Maggie: Well, you're lucky that's all that hurt

Nick: I swear, this will never happen again.

Maggie: You know better than to get behind the wheel of a car after you have been drinking.

Nick: I thought I was okay to drive!

Maggie: Then you call me next time. If I have to get out of d at 3:00 in the morning, I will do it. Do you realize how fortunate you are? What if there had been another car around when you ran that red light?

Nick: I know.

Maggie: You could have died.

Nick: I know!

Maggie: You could have killed someone else.

Nick: I know!

Maggie: You know, all it takes is a split second and everything is over. I've seen too many people destroyed by alcohol, me included, and I'm not gonna let that happen to you.

[Door opens]

Bo: Lopez, take Mr. Fallon down and book him.

Maggie: [Sighs]

Bo: I got a feeling his time in the cooler won't be as rough as that little lecture you just gave him.

Maggie: It was important. Look, I have to call Mickey and have him come down here before he gets arraigned.

Bo: All right. Take it easy.

Max: Nothing's going on, Steph. I'm just terrified for Ma, and I want this all over with.

Stephanie: So do I, which is why I think the more people trying to prove your mother's innocence, the better.

Max: No, it's not that simple, and I don't want you involved. End of discussion. That's it.

Stephanie: You're protecting someone.

Max: No, I'm not. I -- no.

Stephanie: It's Melanie, isn't it?

Roman: Have you talked to Ma today?

Bo: She's worn out, but happy to be home.

Roman: I hope she takes some time off.

Bo: [Chuckles] You know Ma. She was probably up at 5:00 A.M. flipping pancakes.

Roman: Yeah, you know what I'll do? I'll stop by the pub later, see how she's holding up. Speaking of which, how are you holding up?

Bo: Haven't been home in three nights to tuck my little angel in. She was asking about her grandma. Must have heard Hope and me talking about her.

Roman: Yeah. Strange how kids always seem to sense when something's wrong.

Bo: Yeah. We make it a point to try not to bring our work home with us.

Roman: But this is personal.

Bo: You got that right. You know we're gonna be called in to testify.

[Knock on door]

Roman: Yeah. Well, well, well. Look who's here.

Mayor Marino: Commander Brady, Detective Brady.

Bo: Mr. Mayor, what can we do for you?

Mayor Marino: I need to talk to you about your mother.

Melanie: Home? We don't have a home. My home is with Max.

Trent: We can rebuild our home. You don't need anything else. Not this town, not the Brady's, certainly not Max.

Melanie: You know, when I first ran into Max in that café in France and he introduced himself to me as my brother, I thought it was some kind of sick joke because how could my Father hide such important information from me?

Trent: Max isn't like us, sweetheart. He has no ambition, no future. 30 years from now, he'll still be earning minimum wage, waiting tables at that rinky-dink pub.

Melanie: That's all you care about.

Trent: This from the girl who asked for a BMW last Christmas.

Melanie: Regardless...when I met him in that café and he told me about you, for like a millisecond, I actually felt sorry for him. Because his father gave him up, threw him away like a piece of trash. But you know what? Max was the lucky one. Because he didn't have to grow up with you.

Roman: Well, Mayor Marino, our Mother is out on bail, she's home resting, we are continuing our investigation, and we are giving you up-to-date reports on our progress.

Mayor Marino: Relax, Commander. I'm not here to give you grief.

Bo: That's a switch.

Mayor Marino: I approve of the way you're handling the Robbins' case. Thought you'd like to know.

Roman: Wow. Thanks a whole lot, Mayor. We appreciate that. We are doing the best we can to close this case as soon as possible.

Mayor Marino: As you should. Must be tough, though, considering your mother is the prime suspect. Although it looks like we have another family member on the list -- Max Brady. That's your brother. Am I right? Interesting.

Bo: Anything else we could do for you, Mr. Mayor?

Mayor Marino: You fellas keep up the good work.

Bo: What the hell was that about?

Roman: [Chuckles] I have no idea, other than what we already know -- the man doesn't trust us, and he's not exactly on our side.

Bo: We got to get Max off that list.

Roman: We need to get a warrant, see if the fibers we found on Trent Robbins' body match anything in Max's closet.

Bo: Yeah. Hey ya, Tracy. [Chuckles] Same to ya. Listen, um, can you get me Judge Cooper's clerk? Yeah, thanks. Appreciate it.

Roman: Well, let's hope we don't have a problem with the warrant.

Bo: I don't see why we should. Max threatened our victim in a public place. Hey, Nolan, it's Detective Brady. Yeah, um, listen, the paperwork's on its way, but I need you to rush a search warrant through for me. Yeah, just put it right in front of it. Yeah -- Max Brady.

Stephanie: It's Melanie. She's the one who killed Trent.

Max: Don't even say that.

Stephanie: For some reason, you're still trying to protect her.

Max: "For some reason"? If I we trying to protect her, it' because she my sister, but that doesn't seem to mean a damn thing to you.

Stephanie: Not when your sister has done nothing but screw up everything since the day she entered your life.

Max: I'm so not getting into this with you right now, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Of course not. God forbid we have an honest discussion about her.

Max: "Honest discussion"? Uh, more like a tirade.

Stephanie: W-- does it offend you that I don't happen to believe that Melanie is this wonderful, cool person?

Max: Yeah, yeah, maybe it does offend me. Maybe I just want you to be happy for me that I finally found my sister. Maybe I want you to just try and see the best in her for a change.

Stephanie: "The best in her"? Max, all I have seen is a lying, manipulative, untrustworthy --

Max: I don't want to hear it anymore. Stop!

Stephanie: We are talking about murder, the worst crime there is. If you were covering for your sister --

Max: Use your head for a second. Why would I cover for my sister if I'm letting my Mom go down for the worst crime there is? Would I really do something like that?

Stephanie: No, you wouldn't.

Max: No, I wouldn't. But too bad you didn't realize that before you keep going o and on and on about my sister being a killer.

Stephanie: So you really don't think she's guilty?

Max: How many times do I have to tell you?

Stephanie: Even though she threatened to kill Trent.

Max: I made the same threat. And did you think that I was guilty? Look, I know she's not your favorite person in the world. And I know you hate her guts. I get that. But can you please do me a favor and cut her a break? Can you do that for me?

Melanie: I would give anything to have what Max has -- a family who loves and supports him. I'll bet his parents never missed a ball game or a science fair.

Trent: They weren't his parents.

Melanie: And who is? You? Caroline and Shawn love Max. And they saved him from you. But who's gonna save me?

Trent: You don't need saving. I'm the one who's in danger here.

Melanie: I'm not gonna save you again, Dad. But I'm not gonna kill you. But if you don't leave me alone, I'm gonna disappear and you will never see me again.

Trent: And what about your brother?

Melanie: He's the only one I'll miss.

Trent: You don't mean that. We've had our differences in the past, but we've always made up.

Melanie: You really think that, don't you?

Trent: Of course I do. Come on, be a doll. Come with me. We'll go back to my place.

Melanie: And then what? You'll talk me into having sex with your friend to save you? It's not gonna happen, Dad. I'm leaving.

Trent: Don't you dare walk away.

Melanie: Stop it! I told you to get your hands off me!

Lucas: Don't you think you should be able to trust him? I mean, do you trust E.J. or not?

Sami: It's Stefano I don't trust. I know the future that he has in store for Johnny and it scares the hell out of me. If he found out he had another grandchild... I can't let that happen.

Lucas: Well, he's gonna find out sooner or later. Stefano finds out that you lied to him, you know what he did to your mother. You'll be next.

Sami: I just have to take my chances, then.

Lucas: Really? That's it? I'm just trying to help you, trying to do you a favor and you're so hell-bent on doing it your own way. Fine. Do it. I don't care.

Sami: Lu-- [Sighs] [Footsteps approaching]

Maggie: I talked to Mickey.

Nick: Swell. I can't wait to get the lecture from him.

Maggie: Now, he's doing everything he can to get you out.

Nick: I think I might be safer in here.

Maggie: [Sighs] Honey, look, I know how bad you feel -- physically and mentally. I've been there and it's not fun.

Nick: And I'm never gonna drink alcohol again, I swear. It's ginger ale from here on out.

Maggie: Well, just promise me you'll be more careful.

Nick: I can't believe I let myself get so out of control.

Maggie: It's scary, isn't it? Sweetie, I know you're not a problem drinker, so what happened? What was the reason you went on this little binge?

Melanie: I told you don't touch me again! [Knock on door]

Max: Almost ready?

Stephanie: Yeah, just trying to get my shoes on.

Roman: Hello, Max.

Max: Uh, what's up, guys?

Bo: Sorry, man.

Max: A search warrant?

Stephanie: What?

Bo: This shouldn't take long. If we don't find anything, you'll be cleared.

Roman: So, just stay out of the way and let us do our work.

Stephanie: This is insane. He's your brother.

Roman: He is also a suspect in a murder case.

Stephanie: You've got to be kidding me.

Max: You're not gonna find anything.

Bo: Yeah, well, we still have to look.

Roman: Max, is this your shirt?

Max: Yeah.

Roman: Where did the blood come from? Max, we're gonna find out one way another, so it would be a whole lot easier if you told us yourself.

Max: I had an altercation with Trent a few nights ago.

Roman: The same night he was murdered?

Max: I know this looks bad, Roman.

Bo: Why the hell didn't you tell us before?

Max: I'm sorry, but I didn't kill him, okay?

Roman: All right, smith, bag it. Run a test to see if that blood matches Trent Robbins'. Also check that shirt against the fibers we found on Robbins' body.

Bo: Come on. You're going downtown.

Stephanie: He's not some criminal.

Max: I can explain everything, all right? I can explain.

Bo: I hope you can. What the hell were you thinking, man? This does not look good.

Roman: You knew you'd be a suspect after the scene at the pub.

Max: I know. I know. I should have said something to you guys, okay?

Bo: Yeah, a little late now.

Roman: Yeah, you put us in a really tough spot.

Max: I didn't do it! How many times do I have to tell you?!

Roman: Just take it easy.

Max: No, I'm not gonna take it easy. Why don't you guys believe me?

Bo: Because you grow up around cops and you do something stupid like this. You get in a fight with a man on the same day he turns up murdered and you don't tell us about it? What is the ma-- you just went to the top of our suspect list.

Roman: Okay, all right, all right. Let me talk to him. Let me talk to him.

Bo: Stephanie.

Max: Now what?

Roman: The "now what" is this -- you tell me everything that happened, and follow me very closely here. You start at the top.

Maggie: So, now, tell me. How did this happen?

Nick: [Sighs] Just been such a hellish week, you know? I thought, you know, I'd go the Cheatin' Heart, have a few drinks, unwind a little bit, and, um, guess who walks in. Dr. Jonas.

Maggie: Oh. Oh, boy.

Nick: Aunt Maggie, the second I saw him...I wanted to...punch him.

Maggie: But you thought better about it, right, I hope

Nick: Well, I only had a couple drinks at that point. If I had a couple more...

Maggie: This is about Chelsea, isn't it?

Nick: I don't get it. She broke up with me six months ago. Why do I still have feelings for her?

Maggie: Because she was your first love, and that one always hurts the most.

Nick: It was one thing when e was still with Daniel, I knew I didn't have a chance against him.

Maggie: Oh, come on, Nick. Don't say that.

Nick: But, uh...when I found out how he'd hurt her and how he lied to her and I saw how devastated she was...I have to say, a tiny part of me was happy because I thought I might... still have a chance with her.

Maggie: Oh, honey.

Nick: So, you know, Daniel showed up and, um, stirred up all these feelings I had about Chelsea, and a couple beers turned into some tequila shots. [Chuckles] It's pretty lame, right?

Roman: Yeah?

Officer: Grabbed those lab results.

Roman: All right. Thank you, Smith.

Max: So, what's it say?

Roman: The blood on Max's shirt is Trent Robbins'.

Bo: And the fibers?

Roman: From Max's shirt.

Melanie: Why the hell can't I remember this? [Cellphone ringing] Hello?

Stephanie: Hey, it's Stephanie. I need you to meet me at the police station.

Melanie: Why?

Stephanie: Max is here. They're questioning him about Trent's murder.

Lucas: Forgot my phone. She woke up?

Sami: She heard us arguing.

Lucas: You put her in that outfit I got her.

Sami: It finally fit her.

Both: Sorry.

Lucas: I know it's hard for you. I know it's hard for you to tell E.J. that you're pregnant. And I know we're not together anymore, but it's really none of my business, but I do still care about you.

Sami: Lucas...

Lucas: Just let me finish, all right? If you want to be with him, you know, he's the one hat makes you happy, then that's great. That means that I'm happy.

Sami: At point, I just -- m nervous to tell him that he is this baby's father because I am afraid of how he's going to react.

Lucas: Do you know that he wants more kids?

Sami: I don't think he wants me. Look, I'm sorry. I guess you don't want to hear that.

Lucas: No, that's cool. You know, we fight, we slam doors, we argue. We're still friends. You can tell me anything you want. You'll always get my opinion. You know that.

Sami: Yeah, even if I don't want to hear it.

Lucas: You got to talk to somebody else, you know. You got to get someone else's opinion on this.

Sami: Oh, really? Like who? My parents.

Lucas: Yeah, just talk to them. They'll set you straight. You know they'll help you. They always do.

Sami: I guess it couldn't hurt.

Melanie: Where's Max?

Stephanie: Getting busted by my uncles, thanks to you.

Melanie: What did I do?

Stephanie: Cut the act, Melanie. Max Brady is the best thing that ever happened to you, and you're totally taking advantage of me.

Melanie: Who the hell are you to tell me that?

Stephanie: I'm just stating a fact.

Melanie: Yeah? Well, he's my brother, so let's let him decide how he feels about me, okay?

Stephanie: Oh, he's already decided, Melanie. I mean, he thinks you're totally cool. He's so thrilled he found you, and he can't wait to get to know you better.

Melanie: And you can't stand that, can you? Because you want to be everything to him.

Stephanie: No, Melanie, what I can't stand is the fact that you're making him look like a fool. You pretend to be devoted to him, to love him, when all you're doing is using him.

Melanie: You're the one that doing that, Steph.

Stephanie: What's that supposed to mean?

Melanie: Come on. If you really cared about Max, then you'd respect what we have together. But, no, you're so creepily possessive that you can't stand him paying attention to anyone but you. Even his sister feels like a threat to you.

Stephanie: That's not true.

Melanie: Come on. I knew the moment I saw you. The clinginess, the jealousy. Didn't anyone ever tell you guys don't really like that?

Stephanie: Max and I are doing just great, thanks.

Melanie: Mnh-mnh. Not gonna last. Not with you being so damn needy and pathetic. I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

Stephanie: You want to know why I love him so much?

Melanie: Can't be for his money.

Stephanie: Because he is the nicest, most generous person I have ever known. He doesn't have a selfish bone in his body. And he sees the good in everyone, no matter who they are.

Melanie: Touching.

Stephanie: You know, you have done so many nasty things to him, and for some reason beyond me, he still feels the need to protect you. Now Max is the one in trouble. And you're the only one who can help him.

Melanie: Why? How? By confessing to my Father's murder, even though I'm not the one that did it?

Stephanie: The truth is gonna come out, Melanie.

Melanie: Yeah? Well, I hope it does. Because then maybe you and everyone else will leave me the hell alone.

Maggie: Maybe you should tell Chelsea how you feel.

Nick: No. No, no. No way. That'll totally freak her out. I just have to accept the fact that, uh, we're just gonna be friends, you know? I can live with that.

Maggie: Can you, Nick?

Nick: Oh, definitely. The only reason I'm so hung up on Chelsea is because I haven't been with anybody since her. I think as soon as I'm with somebody else, things -- things are gonna get better.

Maggie: Well, you're probably right. So, um, is the anyone in particular you have in mind?

Nick: What do you mean?

Maggie: Well, I noticed you out with Max's sister the other night, and I was just wondering if she's someone you're interested in.

Melanie: Look, all those things you said about Max are totally true. He's the nicest guy I know. What I don't understand is why he's wasting his time with a bitch like you.

Stephanie: You did not just say that.

Melanie: Need me to press replay? But hey, maybe all that neediness turns him on. What do I know?

Roman: Stephanie, could you step in here?

Stephanie: Gladly.

Bo: When you and Melanie showed up in his room, what did Robbins say?

Max: He wasn't expecting to see me. I mean, I'm sure he knew I wasn't gonna let him hurt Melanie.

Bo: But you decided you'd hurt him.

Max: Trent was trying to force her into having sex with that Claude guy again to pay off his debts, and there's no way I was gonna let that happen. So next thing I know, Trent and are throwing punches and I punched him in the mouth, and then nick and Chelsea showed up, stopped the fight, and then we were out of there. End of story.

Bo: And that's the last time you saw Robbins alive?

Max: Yeah, absolutely. Just give it to me straight, Bo. What the hell's gonna happen?

Bo: It's circumstantial, but we got a lot of evidence here -- shirt, the blood, the threats. Not a pretty picture. And I have to present it to the D.A.

Max: It still doesn't prove I did it.

Stephanie: Of course it doesn't.

Bo: Yeah, well, I'm not sure she's gonna see it that way. Unless something else turns up, little brother, you're all we got.

Nicole: So, Morgan's in Chicago. Where does that leave you?

Philip: Plenty of free time, baby.

Nick: You know, when the university finds out about this, I'll probably be suspended from the faculty. What am I supposed to do about that?

Melanie: I'd stop focusing on people like me and start focusing on some of his real enemies.
