Philip: Dr. Randall. Yeah, it was my pleasure. I'm just glad the new MRI equipment is being put to good use. It's easy to write a check. You're the one saving lives. My mother? No, I haven't heard about that. I'm on my way. What the...

Kate: So, after the biopsy, then we'll know whether or not I have lung cancer.

Daniel: Well, unfortunately, no. There's no guarantees. The lungs are not easy organs to access, which makes any diagnosis more difficult.

Kate: But this is the best approach, right?

Daniel: Yes, it is, and the suspicious mass on your X-ray, it really gives us no choice. Look, Dr. Faulk -- he's gonna go in with a very thin needle and he'll take samples of cell tissue and fluids from the infected area and [Snaps finger]

Kate: Oh, well, at least I'll be asleep.

Daniel: Yes, you will. And the success of any lung biopsy depends on the location of the suspected tumor and the doctor's ability to access it.

Kate: What if he can't? I mean, then what?

Daniel: Look, Dr. Faulk is an expert in this field. He is one of the top pulmonologists in the country, okay? He'll give us some good news. We can count on it.

Kate: Well, I hope so, because I like to know what I'm dealing with.

Daniel: Me too. What do you want? Do you want me to call anybody? Philip, Lucas, Chelsea?

Kate: No, I mean, you said it was a simple procedure, right?

Daniel: It is. Mm-hmm.

Kate: Okay, well, then, I want to wait. I want to wait till I have some answers.

Daniel: That's your call. Besides, I've cleared my schedule for the day, so I'm gonna assist in the O.R.

Kate: No. No, you're not.

Dr. Whitaker: Samantha, I've got your test results, and you'll be happy to hear you're not dying.

Sami: See? I told you there's nothing wrong with me. So can I get out of here now?

Dr. Whitaker: Not so fast. I do have some news that I think you're gonna want to hear. Um...shall we discuss it in private?

Sami: No, I'm sure whatever it is Lucas can hear it. What's up?

Dr. Whitaker: Very well. Um...you're pregnant

E.J.: Watch out, Johnny. Those lions are gonna get you. [Laughs] Ah, hello.

Nicole: Uh, are we going on safari?

E.J.: Uh...wow. You look...stunning.

Nicole: Thank you.

E.J.: I just got back from taking Johnny to the zoo.

Nicole: I can see that.

E.J.: Yeah, it was so much fun. It was kind like being a kid again.

Nicole: Did you make funny faces at all the animals?

E.J.: Of course I did. Laughs] Look, I'm running a little bit late. Can you make yourself comfortable? I'm gonna run upstairs and have a shower. I'll be right back.

Nicole: Oh, yeah, no problem.

E.J.: Oh, um...let me get you something to drink first.

Nicole: You know what? No, that's okay. I can fend for myself. Go ahead.

E.J.: Okay. Oh, also, there was something you wanted to tell me earlier when I bumped into you at Chez Rouge.

Nicole: Later. You know, the night's young.

E.J.: Okay.

Nicole: Look what your daddy did for us. We're gonna be one little happy family.

John: Nicole Walker. I assume you're here to see Junior.

Nicole: Right you are, John.

John: Hmm. Looks like somebody has a hot date.

Nicole: Correct again. E.J. and I are on our first official date.

John: So, where is he?

Nicole: Oh, he's upstairs, running late.

John: I see, and you're staying in tight.

Nicole: Oh, look at this. E.J. is so thoughtful.

John: Whatever. Can I get you something -- vodka, gin, bourbon? Whatever you want, it's all top-of-the-line, and I make a damn good screwdriver.

Nicole: Can I take a rain check?

John: Come again?

Nicole: I'm not drinking tonight.

John: Nicole Walker not drinking -- that doesn't compute.

Nicole: Well, I've had some stomach problems lately, so I just decided to lay off the booze for a while. Don't worry. It's not gonna last long.

John: Okay, now, do you want to tell me what's really going on?

Kayla: Mom, how you holding up?

Caroline: Oh, I'm okay, sweetheart. Now, don't you worry about me.

Roman: Well, Ma, we are all worried about you, and Bo and I are doing everything we can to get you out of here. Now, unfortunately, the arraignment has been set, and the D.A. has already filed murder charges against you.

Caroline: I still can't believe it. You know, it's like a bad dream. I swear to you...I didn't kill Trent Robbins.

Bo: Ma, Ma, we know that. We just have a job to do.

Caroline: I understand.

Roman: Ma, we need to ask you a few more questions. Do you feel up to it?

Caroline: Sure, but I told you everything I know.

Bo: Well, last night when we questioned you, there was a lot going on.

Roman: Yeah, and, uh, you were probably in shock, Ma.

Caroline: Well, I still am. One minute, I'm reminiscing at Shawn's grave. The next thing I know, I'm in jail.

Kayla: We know, Mom. We all know how hard this is for you. Listen, I talked to Kimberly, and she sent her love, and we all just love you so much, Mom.

Caroline: I love you all, too. You know that.

Bo: We just need to make sure we've covered everything. You know, in the commotion last night, you might have overlooked something important.

Kayla: You know, any kin of detail that can help with your defense.

Roman: Exactly. We need to find the clue that will lift the suspicion off you and help us find the real killer.

Sami: What? I'm sorry. What did you say?

Dr. Whitaker: You're pregnant. Congratulations.

Sami: Lucas!

Lucas: I'm home.

Sami: What are you talking about. I'm not pregnant. That can't be possible.

Lucas: Oh, it's possible, all right. I know exactly when it happened.

Sami: Wh-- no. No, come on. There's no way.

Bo: Ma, just try to relax and tell us about your relationship with Trent.

Caroline: Well, I-I-I remember the day that I found out that Trent was Max's father.

Trent: You know who I am.

Caroline: Max told me. And once he did, of course I remembered you. Max is my son. I love him, and I will do anything to protect him. So I'm putting you on notice. If you hurt him...you're gonna have to answer to me.

Caroline: I wasn't rude or anything. I-I let him know that I knew who he was and I'd be watching him.

Bo: Nothing wrong with that.

Mickey: Come on, guys. Seems innocent enough.

Roman: Yeah, uh...Ma, did you have any other run-ins with Trent Robbins?

Caroline: Well...yes, there were a few. I told him a number of times not to frequent the pub. Max got so upset when Trent came in that I thought it was best to put a stop to it.

Caroline: I asked you nicely --

Trent: Not to come here. Yes, I know. You don't have to worry, Mrs. Brady. Your son and I have already had that discussion. I will try to keep my visits here to a minimum.

Caroline: And when heard what he did to his own daughter on that yacht in France...

Caroline: I want you to get the hell out of here and never come back. Max told me you were arrogant and you were mean. I can't imagine you could stoop so low to use your daughter so despicably.

Caroline: Well, I wasn't very nice to him, but he deserved it.

Bo: You were protecting your son. No problem there.

Roman: You're doing good, Ma.

Mickey: Is that it, Caroline?

Caroline: Trent came into the pub and wanted to see Max and Melanie. I said no. And w got into an argument. I'm sorry to say...the argument got pretty heated.

Roman: Okay, when did this take place?

Caroline: The night Trent Robbins died.

John: Yes, I'm waiting.

Nicole: It's no big deal, John. I just don't feel like drinking.

John: No, try again.

Nicole: Look, I don't owe you an explanation.

John: Oh, I suppose not, but I'm curious.

Nicole: Yeah, you be curious, okay? 'Cause I don't care. So...how about them Cubs? Do you think they stand a chance?

John: Oh, I don't know. I don't care.

Nicole: Well, what do you care about, John, hmm? Besides money and power.

John: We're talking about you.

Nicole: Yes, I know, and changed the subject. Stop staring at me like that. It's rude.

John: Oh, I'm sorry. But I find you so captivating.

Nicole: Uh...where's Ralph? I haven't seen him around here lately.

John: If you're referring to that traitor Rolf, I believe he's holed up with my half brother somewhere.

Nicole: Is it me or do you find that man rather strange?

John: Oh, I guess. But, then again, who am I to judge?

Nicole: Good point.

John: So are we gonna continue this meaningless conversation about my ex-butler, or are you just gonna tell me what's going on with you?

Nicole: Why do you care?

John: Well, I don't really. But it's like I said, I find you intriguing in a peculiar sort of way.

Nicole: Is that a compliment?

John: Would you like it to be?

Nicole: All right, that's enough. You know, John, besides your... quirks, for some strange reason, I feel like I can trust you.

John: Ah, thank you.

Nicole: The truth is... I'm pregnant.

John: E.J.'s kid?

Nicole: No, Stefano's. Who do you think? Of course E.J.'s.

John: Oh, this is interesting.

Nicole: And I'm gonna tell him tonight.

John: Oh, I am so fascinated. Tell me more.

Nicole: Oh, uh...okay. Well, I was told I couldn't have children. I used my abdomen to stop a bullet once. But here I am...carrying E.J.'s baby. It's a miracle, really.

John: And you're fine with this whole baby thing.

Nicole: I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but, yes. I never really liked children, especially the little ones. You know, they're always so selfish and it's always about them.

John: I hear ya.

Nicole: But now that I' pregnant...I'm thrilled. I really am.

John: Sensational.

Nicole: Yeah.

John: Well, congratulations, Mom. You know, I don't think I've ever seen you this happy without a drink.

Nicole: I-I'm a little nervous how E.J.'s gonna react. It was hardly planned. He'll be shocked, I'm sure. But I think once he gets used to the idea, he'll be happy. At least I hope he will be. And maybe this is just what he needs to get off his horrible fixation with Sami.

John: I see.

Nicole: Do you? 'Cause I want E.J. to myself. I don't want to share him with Sami, and I know they share a child together, but this baby has to be his priority.

John: Or?

Nicole: Or I have to raise this baby by myself, and I don't want to do that.

Sami: This isn't possible. I mean, I can't be pregnant.

Dr. Whitaker: Actually, Mrs. Brady, you're already into your second trimester.

Sami: What? I mean, I haven't even had symptoms. I haven't had any morning sickness or anything.

Dr. Whitaker: Consider yourself lucky. When was your last period?

Sami: I don't remember. A couple months ago. That's not entirely unusual. You know, I've been under a tremendous amount of stress lately. And I haven't even gained that much weight. You know, just a couple pounds. I haven't been working out.

Dr. Whitaker: Well, most women don't experience any significant weight gain at first.

Sami: This is crazy. I mean, I had no idea.

Dr. Whitaker: Well, everything looks fine with your blood work, but I would recommend you make an appointment with your obstetrician as soon as possible and start taking your prenatal vitamins.

Sami: Okay...I guess.

Dr. Whitaker: All right, excellent. Do either of you have any questions?

Sami: No. No, thanks.

Dr. Whitaker: I'm gonna give you and your husband some privacy.

Sami: He's not my -- never mind.

Dr. Whitaker: Congratulations again.

Sami: Oh, my God. I'm pregnant with E.J.'s baby. What am I gonna do?

Mickey: All right, I have to stop this. I need to talk with my client alone.

Roman: Sure, Mick. No problem.

Caroline: What is it, Mickey?

Mickey: Caroline, I have no idea what you're about to say, but as your attorney, I must warn you Roman and Bo are officers of the law.

Caroline: Yes.

Mickey: You have to remember that. It's imperative that you remember that. They're assigned to this case, so anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law.

Caroline: Okay.

Max: Hey, Kay.

Kayla: Hi.

Max: How's Ma doing?

Kayla: Well, you know, she's scared and overwhelmed. Bo and Roman were in there with her questioning her, and they wanted to take a break, so Mickey's in with her now.

Max: I just feel so bad. I wish there was something I could do.

Kayla: Well, you're here. I'm sure that helps. So, listen, I know this is rough on you. How you holding up?

Max: I'm fine.

Kayla: Listen, you, this is your sister you're talking to, remember? The one you went to when you were afraid to tell Mom and Pop the truth?

Max: Yeah.

Kayla: Come here, big baby brother.

Max: I'm just worried about Ma. I mean, I can't believe my son-of-a-bitch Father is still causing trouble even after he's dead.

Daniel: Look, Kate, don't start this again.

Kate: No, I serious. I don't want you as my doctor. It's as simple as that.

Daniel: Why not? I care about you.

Kate: I know. That's the problem.

Daniel: What? No, no, wait. Wait. Hear me out. We cannot make this personal. I mean, of course it is, but I am good for you...as a doctor. So you take everything that is messy about us and you just push it aside. This is your life we're talking about. And nothing else matters.

Kate: There are other doctors in town, Daniel.

Daniel: I am not the lead doctor on this. I am that extra pair of eyes that will catch anything and everything. You need me in that O.R. You need me on your case.

Kate: It -- it's too complicated.

Daniel: Well, not for me, it's not. Look, if you can't sort it out, that's just too damn bad. I am gonna help diagnose you, Kate. I am no good at relationships. I've screwed my life up in that department, but I am damn good at what I do. I know you don' want me anywhere near you. Neither does Philip or Victor. And quite frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn what any of you think. I know what's right, and there is no one more right for you in this moment, in this place, in this time than I am.

Kate: Look...in the past, you have had issues with a woman with cancer, and what if that is what I have?

Daniel: We'll deal with it as comes up.

Kate: I don't know. It just seems like you're really anxious to be the one to give me the bad news

Daniel: I'm not anxious. But I am good at making sure you hear the truth, and the truth is you might be perfectly fine. And that's the news no one's gonna give you but me.

Max: Ma.

Caroline: Oh. Oh, Max.

Max: I'm so sorry about everything. Can you ever forgive me?

Caroline: Max Brady, it's not your fault, dear.

Max: Yeah, but you shouldn't be in here, Ma.

Caroline: Did you hear me? You have nothing to do with this.

Max: Okay, well, maybe you're right about that, but I still feel guilty. Look, I went out searching for my sister and then I get mixed up in Trent's screwed-up life. If I hadn't have done that, then you wouldn't be in this mess.

Caroline: Listen to me, son. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's all.

Max: I don't know about that. It's just so strange. Like, after Trent was stabbed, it's like he sought you out for a reason.

Roman: You know what, Max? You may just have hit on something. If Trent was attacked right before he ran into Ma at the cemetery, maybe he was trying to tell you who stabbed him.

Nicole: Look, John, I know you like Sami, but I really hope you don't pick sides on this.

John: Sides. And what are you referring to?

Nicole: Well, you know, all-out warfare -- me and my baby against Sami and Johnny.

John: Oh, and the last woman standing wins Elvis.

Nicole: Something like that.

John: I won't get involved. Not my style. What you do is your business. What Elvis does is...that's none of my concern.

E.J.: I'm sorry that took me a minute or two. Please accept my apologies.

Nicole: No, it's fine. John and I were just catching up.

John: Yes, your date has kept me thoroughly entertained. Well, have fun...kids.

Nicole: [Chuckles]

E.J.: What was all that about?

Nicole: Oh, nothing. John's just being weird.

E.J.: Yeah.

Nicole: Um, you look, uh... quite sexy this evening.

E.J.: Thank you. You...look as wonderfully alluring as ever.

Nicole: Thank you.

E.J.: You know, I had a wonderful time with Johnny today, but, um, I'm a little bit starved for adult attention, if you know what I mean.

Nicole: I think I do.

E.J.: Oh, I hope you don't mind. I took the liberty of talking to the chef. We are having a lobster bisque, followed by Caesar Salad and Duck de L'orange. I trust that is to your satisfaction.

Nicole: Mmm. Sounds good.

E.J.: Afterwards, I thought we might take a little stroll down on the riverfront. There's that new jazz club that just opened up. Only been op a couple of months, but they seem to be getting some really fantastic musicians there. How does that sound?

Nicole: Great.

E.J.: Here we are. Now...what shall we drink to?

Nicole: I have the perfect toast.

Sami: This is crazy, Lucas. I can't be pregnant.

Lucas: Better call E.J., tell him he's gonna be a daddy again.

Sami: I can't do that.

Lucas: Well, you got to do something unless there's somebody else. Is there somebody else? 'Cause God knows it wasn't me.

Sami: It was E.J., okay? Obviously it was E.J. He's the only one I've been with, and it was only -- it was only that one time.

Lucas: I know about the one time. I don't need to hear about it.

Sami: This is not fair. I mean, I can't believe this. I was gonna get a job and a life, and I was gonna get those twins out of that creepy mansion.

Lucas: Just relax, okay? You can still do all that.

Sami: Oh, really? Who is gonna hire me when I'm pregnant? What am I gonna do?

Lucas: Well, you got to start by calling E.J., don't you?

Sami: What about Stefano?

Lucas: What about Stefano? Who cares about him?

Sami: I care, Lucas. He's never gonna leave me alone if he finds out I'm carrying another DiMera heir.

Lucas: You know what? Forget about Stefano. Concentrate on your present situation right now. You're having E.J.'s baby again, so pick up the damn phone and call him and tell him!

Bo: As far as we can tell, Ma was the only one at the cemetery last night.

Roman: Yeah, and it's possible that Trent saw her before he was attacked and tried to get to her before he died.

Bo: To get help or maybe tell her who stabbed him.

Roman: Exactly, but he never got the chance. I think we should explore that.

Bo: I agree. Hope confirmed that mass was letting out at St. Luke's last night, so we might have some witnesses there -- people who saw Robbins before he was stabbed.

Roman: All right, Ma, I want you to think back to the moment you first saw Trent, okay? Did he say anything? Anything at all?

Caroline: No. Well, it was dark by then, you know. At first I didn't recognize him. And then he came closer and... I'll never forget. He -- he looked me right in the eye and...had this strange, eerie look on his face. And it was terrifying.

Kayla: Here you go.

Max: Thanks, Kay.

Kayla: So, um, what about Melanie? How's she handling all this?

Max: I don't know, and I don't care. Not now.

Kayla: I don't believe you.

Max: She accused me of killing our Father.

Kate: [Coughing] You know, I think you are right. I think this nightmare is gonna turn out to be a scare, and I'm gonna be perfectly fine. This biopsy's gonna prove it.

Daniel: And that attitude's important. You hang on to that optimism.

Kate: Yeah. As long as I'm not in denial.

Daniel: There's nothing to be in denial about. Just one wave a time.

Kate: One wave at a time?

Daniel: That's right. So, you're cool with me being part of this diagnosis.

Kate: Well, I mean, there's nothing I can do about it, right? I'm gonna be asleep. I mean, that's what you told me. So why fight it?

Daniel: That's my girl.

Kate: I'm not, you know.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, I know. But I'm gonna take good care of you anyway.

Kate: Ah.

Daniel: [Chuckles]

Philip: What the hell is going on?

Kate: What are you doing here?

Philip: What are you doing here? Did you really think I wouldn't find out you were in the hospital?

Kate: You know, Philip, just calm down, all right? There's nothing going on. I told you not to say anything.

Daniel: I didn't say a word.

Philip: It doesn't matter how I found out. I'm here now, and I'm not leaving until you tell me what's going on.

Kayla: Melanie thinks that you stabbed Trent?

Max: Came to that conclusion, yeah.

Kayla: Well, she doesn't really know you, and she's probably in shock, you know, losing her father so suddenly.

Max: Come on, she hated him, and so did everybody else after he set her up with that creep in France.

Kayla: Yeah, that must have been awful for her. I don't know why. I thought the two of you hit it off.

Max: My half sister and I are complete opposites. Ask Steph. She'll tell you.

Kayla: That doesn't mean that you can't be close.

Max: Well, I was under the mistaken impression that blood made someone family. Boy, was I wrong. Steph and I finally found her and then we met up with her. I was so happy. I thought we'd form a bond instantly.

Kayla: And?

Max: That didn't happen. All Melanie cares about is herself.

Kayla: Well, she's young. I mean, maybe this relationship just needs a little time.

Max: No, she's a stranger. She means nothing to me.

Caroline: Oh. Thank you, dear.

Roman: Okay, Ma, I need you to tell us about your encounter with Trent on the night he died before you saw him at the cemetery.

Caroline: Well, uh, I was cleaning up the pub, and there was a lull because nobody else was around.

Caroline: Oh. What are you doing here?

Trent: I came to see Max and Melanie.

Caroline: What do you want with them?

Trent: I want to talk to them.

Caroline: I told you to leave them alone now go. I got work to do.

Trent: No, I can't. I will not leave my children.

Caroline: [Chuckles] Little late, aren't you?

Trent: What's that supposed to mean?

Caroline: Well, you didn't have any trouble leaving Max as a child. I don't see now as any different.

Trent: Oh, you Brady's all think you are so high and mighty. Let me tell you something -- you are no better than I am. Now, I may have left my son a long time ago so he could have a better life than I could give him, but I never stopped caring.

Caroline: Oh, really?

Trent: You know, you act like you've got the picture-perfect family. Let me tell you something -- I've been following you and your life for years, Mrs. Brady. You don't fool me. You've had your share of problems.

Caroline: Well, you're right, Mr. Robbins. We have. But you know what? We work through our troubles and we bonded. We love each other.

Trent: Ooh, you bonded.

Caroline: That's right -- love. We got problems, and we didn't destroy anybody on the way.

Caroline: That man was so infuriating. I admit I had trouble controlling my temper.

Mickey: You were obviously angry at Trent, but there was nothing incriminating about what you said. You were just protecting your family. That's all.

Caroline: No, Mickey. That's not all. I'm just getting started.

Sami: Lucas, I need to process this before I tell E.J.

Lucas: Well, you don't have much time. You're pretty far along as it is.

Sami: I'm aware of that, and I'll tell him. I just -- I just can't right now.

Lucas: This isn't about you, Sami.

Sami: The hell it isn't. I'm the one who's pregnant.

Lucas: He's not stupid, all right? He's gonna know you're pregnant after a while. Come on.

Sami: So maybe I go away for a while.

Lucas: You're not going anywhere. You can't leave the twins. You know that. You don't have any choice.

Sami: There are always options.

Lucas: I know that look. I know that look in your eyes. If you start scheming, if you do anything to screw this up --

Sami: Oh, thanks a lot.

Lucas: What, you have a history, you know, and if he's the father, he has a right to know. You got to tell him.

Sami: Why are you even sticking up for him? You hate each other.

Lucas: You know, I m not sticking up for him. But I'm not gonna sit here and allow you to keep this a secret like you did when you were pregnant with Will.

Sami: Oh. I can't believe you are bringing that up.

Lucas: You know what? I don't like the guy, but he does have a right to know, and I'm gonna tell him.

Sami: No. No, Lucas, come on. You can't call him. Let me -- Lucas, don't.

Lucas: Uh, E.J., it's Lucas.

E.J.: Lucas, what's wrong?

Lucas: It's Sami. Uh, she's at the hospital, and she really needs you to come over here right now.

E.J.: All right, I'm on my way. I'M...so sorry. That's Lucas. Samantha's in the hospital.

Nicole: What's wrong?

E.J.: I don't know. I have to go down there.

Nicole: What about our date?

E.J.: On hold, please.

Nicole: Yeah.

E.J.: Nicole, I'm really sorry. Look, I'll call you, okay?

Nicole: Mm-hmm.

Sami: I cannot believe you just did that.

Lucas: Yeah, well, one day you'll thank me.

Sami: You know, this is not your business.

Lucas: You're right. You're right about that. Yeah, well, I'm out of here.

Sami: No, no, no. Wait, Lucas, where are you going?

Lucas: Don't worry about it, Sami. I'm not gonna be the one to tell E.J. you are. Goodbye.

Sami: No, Lucas. having a few tests taken.

Philip: Mom, I'm losing my patience. Dr. Jonas, would you mind enlightening me since my Mother here refuses to tell me the truth? Wh-- Dr. Jonas, are you here as my Mother's doctor or as her lover?

Kate: Philip!

Daniel: I'm gonna go give these to Dr. Faulk. I'll be right back.

Kate: Okay, that was way over the line.

Philip: Well, maybe. I really don't care. So...what are you doing here?

Kate: I'm having a little outpatient surgery. That's all.

Philip: For what?

Kate: Honey, it really doesn't matt, okay?

Philip: Damn it, Mom. I'm not some stranger. I'm your son. Don't you trust me?

Kate: Honey, of course I trust you. And I'm sorry. It's just that I know you're busy and I didn't want to worry you.

Philip: I'm a grown man. Let me decide when it's time to worry, okay?

Lucas: Mom.

Kate: Lucas. What are you doing here?

Lucas: I was just about to leave when a nurse told me you were in the trauma center. What's going on? Are you all right?

Kate: Nothing's going on.

Lucas: Philip.

Philip: I just got here myself. Apparently, she's having some sort of surgery, but refuses to elaborate.

Lucas: Come on, Mom. Start talking. It's two against one.

Philip: I got my laptop in the car, Mom. We can get Billie and Austin to ichat again.

Lucas: I got them on speed dial. You want to do that?

Philip: What's it gonna be, Mom?

Bo: Go ahead, Ma.

Caroline: Well...Trent refused to leave. And the argument escalated.

Trent: With all due respect, Mrs. Brady, I really don't give a damn what you think of me. I'm not leaving until I see my children, and there ain't nothing you can do about it.

Caroline: Aah! You stop this! Stop right there! It's my pub. You're trespassing on my property. Now you go out that door or I am calling the cops. Oh! You get out of here! I swear, I'll kill you!

Caroline: Didn't kill Trent, but...I had murder in my heart at that very moment. I'm sorry. [Cellphone rings]

Mickey: Just a second. Yeah, Mickey Horton. I see. Yeah.

Bo: Ma, why didn't you tell us this before?

Caroline: Because it looked so bad...even to me. I don't know why I picked up the knife. I realize it's stupid. I mean, the man just...made me angry and I was frightened, so I threatened him with the knife, but I swear to you, I didn't kill Trent. You do believe me, don't you?

Bo: Ma, of course we believe you. You couldn't kill him. You couldn't kill anyone, even a creep like Robbins.

Roman: Ma, listen to me. Look, Mick is out of the room, okay, so this is off the record. But what happened after that?

Caroline: [Sighs] We had a few words and he left.

Roman: Did he ever see Max and Melanie?

Caroline: I don't know. I mean, I don't know who he saw.

Roman: All right, good. Means there are no witnesses.

Mickey: Well, you spoke too soon, Roman. That was the D.A.'s office, disclosing witnesses have just come forward.

Bo: What did they see?

Mickey: Well, they were walking by the pub, saw a light on, thought it was Hope so they looked inside and saw Caroline holding a knife on Trent.

Caroline: Oh, my God. Now what?

Mickey: We all know there's no way that you could have murdered Trent Robbins.

Roman: I agree. But somebody did, and we damn well better find the real killer fast.

Kate: What are you doing at the hospital, Lucas?

Lucas: I found Sami passed out, so I brought her in.

Kate: Is she okay?

Lucas: Yeah, she's fine, but what are you doing here?

Kate: Um...okay. I'm having a biopsy to remove some tissue and fluid from my lungs. The doctors, um, need some more samples because they want to do some more tests.

Philip: So this...surgery's related to your cough?

Kate: Yeah, it is. They, um -- they found an abnormality on one of the x-rays and they want to check it out. And, um...I need to tell you that there's a chance, a possibility, that it may be lung cancer.

Nicole: I can't believe it. He left me for Sami again. Damn you, Sami Brady.

E.J.: Hello, trouble. What's wrong with you, eh? Let's see -- no bones broken. You're not bleeding, thank God. So what are you doing here? Are you sick? Samantha, hey. What's wrong?

Sami: You shouldn't have come. I, um -- it wasn't my idea.

E.J.: Hang on, sweetheart. What's wrong with you?

Sami: I fainted.

E.J.: Just -- just out of the blue?

Sami: It's really not that big a deal.

E.J.: It is a big deal. I mean, have they done any tests? Do they know why this happened? Samantha, answer my question. What's wrong?

Philip: Daniel's doing the biopsy?

Kate: He's helping with it, Philip.

Philip: Forget about it. No way in hell.

John: Are you willing to raise this child on your own?

Nicole: I said I would, and I meant it.

Sami: I don't even want to see you right now. I don't want to see you! Get out!
