Max: Damn it.
Melanie: I know how you feel.
Trent: and a good time was had by all.
Woman: We aim to please.
Trent: Are we...on for tomorrow?
Woman: Same time, same place.
Trent: My lady. Keep it warm for me. [Chuckles]
Claude: You are trying my patience, Monsieur Robbins.
Philip: It's great to have you back at the Titan team, Lucas.
Lucas: Thanks. I appreciate the opportunity.
Philip: To family.
Lucas: To family.
Philip: So, how is everything else with you?
Lucas: It's good. You know, my world basically revolves around Allie, but...
Philip: Hopefully you find some time to squeeze in some work here and there.
Lucas: Oh, yeah. Chloe's helping me out with the kid. She's on babysitting duty right now.
Philip: You sure about that?
Lucas: Yeah, why?
Chloe: Hello, boys. Is there room at this table for one more?
Lucas: You're supposed to be watching Allie. What's going on?
Chloe: I got a sitter.
Lucas: So you handed off my child.
Chloe: Are you upset?
Lucas: Shouldn't I be, Chloe?
Chloe: I don't know. I thought you'd be happy to see me.
Nicole: Well, well, well. Doesn't this look like the "a" table. Mind if I join you?
Lucas: No, no. Take my seat. I have a babysitter to check on.
Philip: What do you want?
Nicole: Well, I just wanted to talk to you, actually. But maybe this is a bad time?
Chloe: It's fine. Don't mind me.
Philip: What's going on?
Nicole: I need your help, Philip...badly.
Chelsea: Hey, Nick. I didn't even see you come in.
Nick: You were kind of in your own world. You meeting someone?
Chelsea: No, no, it's just me.
Nick: Well, if you want to be alone, then...
Chelsea: No, I mean, unless you're meeting somebody. I didn't mean to assume.
Nick: No, I'm not meeting anyone.
Chelsea: Take a seat. So, how's your shoulder?
Nick: It's actually -- it feels good. I was lucky. If the bullet had hit me a couple inches to the left --
Chelsea: Well, thank God it didn't.
Nick: [Sighs] Good to be back.
Nick: You okay?
Chelsea: Me? Yeah, I'm fine. I just -- I just thought that I was a good judge of people. And by people, I mean men. But, uh, turns out, I don't know anything. I'm completely clueless.
Nick: I'm guessing you're talking about Daniel.
Chelsea: Oh, what gave that away?
Nick: Do you want to talk about it?
Chelsea: Okay. I guess you can't really think worse of me than you already do.
Nick: I don't think the worst of you, Chelsea. So, come on. Open up to your old friend Nick and tell me about your broken heart and if there's any chance of it being mended again by Dr. Jonas.
Melanie: Dad really pushes those buttons, doesn't he?
Max: I want him to leave. And I want him out of our lives, Mel.
Melanie: Yeah, well, not gonna happen. So you got to be cool, okay? You cannot let him get to you.
Trent: Who is this?
Claude: Are you in debt to so many of my countrymen? You don't even know, huh?
Trent: Claude, I've been meaning to call you. I want to apologize for my daughter's behavior.
Claude: But the problem, as you Americans would say if you spoke even broken French, one night in jail, my best man lost.
Trent: I'll get you the money, I promise.
Claude: Yes, you will. Either cash or you will deliver your daughter to me so we can finish what we started. One or the other.
Bo: Hey, man. What you working on?
Roman: Cold case.
Bo: Kidnapping of that 8-year-old a little over a year ago.
Roman: Yeah. Was gonna resubmit some new DNA evidence, see what we get.
Bo: I took Hope home.
Roman: I figured.
Bo: She thinks you're upset with her.
Roman: Hope made a choice. That's her right.
Bo: Yeah, well, you think she made the wrong choice, that she should have accepted that position.
Roman: Hey. I turned down that position, too. How the hell can I say anything? Police commissioner is a big job. Your heart's got to be in it.
Bo: Exactly, and yet you're judging her. You think she's being selfish.
Roman: No, no, whoa, whoa. No, I am not judging her, and I never said anything about being selfish.
Bo: Well, that's what she's picking up. Come on, man. You got to understand that Ciara is her priority.
Roman: I do understand that, Bo. I do understand that, and I do respect it. It's just...
Roman: Who the hell's the mayor gonna put in here? And if it is a DiMera Associate, I'm out of here. I will give up my career before I stoop to working for some corrupt son of a bitch who's out to take us all down.
Bo: I'm with you there.
Roman: All right. Then you do it.
Bo: Come on, Roman.
Roman: I'm serious.
Bo: We've been over this.
Roman: We need you to do this. And don't give me all that stuff about how you thrive on rooting out the facts and finding out who the bad guy is, about being a detective, not an administrator. 'Cause you know what? You can do that job. And you can have an even bigger impact. Bo, this is about the future of this city. Throw your damn hat in the ring. I think we still have enough influence on the city council to make it work, and believe me, little brother, you are the best man for this job.
Chelsea: So, I saw Daniel at the hospital just now, and he was running tests on Kate.
Chelsea: Yeah, that's what I'm calling her now. 'Cause grandma just doesn't really work for me, you know?
Chelsea: And I thought that things were over between them, not that it would make a difference if they were.
Nick: Wait, what? They're still together?
Chelsea: You know, I don't really know. I just overheard them talking, and Daniel was saying something about taking the next step, whatever that means.
Nick: Well, couldn't that just have been about her being sick? I mean, you said she was having tests done.
Chelsea: She is, but I don't think it's anything that serious. And still, I mean, I can tell that there's something going on between them by the way that they look at each other. I just feel so stupid.
Nick: For what? For caring about someone?
Chelsea: Yeah. I should have known better.
Nick: We all make mistakes. And, um, not to compound a cliché, but as long as we learn from them...
Chelsea: Oh, I'm learning not to trust people.
Nick: Maybe you should learn to trust the right people.
Chelsea: Makes sense.
Nick: Stick with me, kid.
Chelsea: Yeah, you were always generous and forgiving. It's too bad some of that didn't rub off on me.
Nick: You don't give yourself enough credit, Chelse.
Chelsea: No, Nick, I just know my faults, and one of them is that I don't forgive easily. And that's probably why I can't move on from Daniel and what happened with Kate. I just can't find it in my heart to forgive them.
Max: Don't let it get to me. Right. My Father is a low-life swine who uses his own daughter to pay for his gambling debts. And he doesn't care about anyone, including his own flesh and blood. And I'm supposed to just be cool with that. Just let it go. You know, turn the other cheek?
Melanie: No, it's great that you care so much. I just don't like seeing you so upset.
Max: Yeah, well, get used to it as long as that bastard's around.
Melanie: Yeah, well, I can't.
Max: Can't what?
Melanie: Get used to it. I'm not talking about you freaking out. That I can handle. 'Cause you're my brother and it does my heart good to know you care about what he did to me.
Max: What can't you get used to, Mel?
Melanie: Being around him. I need to leave Salem, Max. No, you don't understand. It's like poison for me knowing he's so nearby.
Max: Melanie --
Melanie: Don't argue with me! I need to get away from him for my sanity.
Max: No, I'm not letting go of you, okay? No, you have family here.
Melanie: Max, please.
Max: No, you are not going anywhere. If anyone's gonna leave, it's gonna be him.
Trent: What now? Nicole. No. It's too late. I blew that. No, I can't. No, not Melanie. I can't. Not now. It's too... you got no choice, Trent.
Melanie: Ah, great idea, Max. You're just gonna tell Dad to leave or else?
Max: That's exactly what I'm gonna do.
Melanie: And seeing as how he's scared to death of you, he's just gonna do whatever you say? [Cellphone rings] Ah, speak of the devil.
Max: What does he want?
Melanie: He wants me to go to his hotel room. He says it's urgent.
Max: Let's go.
Max: Yeah, to his hotel room.
Melanie: You're kidding.
Max: I'll give you a ride.
Melanie: What are you talking about? Max, I told you, I never want to see this man again, and if you don't understand that, then the hell with you.
Max: Melanie, stop! Give me some credit here, would you?
Melanie: Why do you want to go see him?
Max: To clear the air. Make dear old Dad understand how we really feel about him.
Nicole: Oh, no, no, no, no. None for me. Thank you.
Philip: Wow. Temperatures in hell must have hit an all-time low.
Nicole: Ah, ha. Cute. Chloe, are you okay?
Lucas: Well, I called the cabin, talked to Gabrielle. Guess everything's fine. They're watching "Babar and Father Christmas."
Chloe: No, you mean Gabrielle hasn't smacked Allie around yet or left her alone? I'm shocked.
Lucas: I'm not supposed to be worried because you left my child with a perfect stranger?
Chloe: She's a dear friend of mine.
Lucas: She's a stranger to me, isn't she?
Chloe: If you'll excuse me.
Nicole: Yeah, me too.
Lucas: Well, where you going?
Nicole: I'm gonna see if my friend's all right, if that's okay with you.
Philip: Well, this night is drama-free.
Lucas: Sorry, all right?
Philip: Don't apologize to me.
Lucas: What's that supposed to mean?
Philip: Don't you think you were a little hard on her?
Lucas: Come on, man. I didn't mean it.
Philip: I know. I get it. You're a protective dad, but you called her out in front of everyone. You embarrassed her. She wanted to see you, so she had a friend watch Allie. What's the big deal?
Lucas: This is what we do. You know, I say something smart-alecky, and then she comes back with something equally acerbic. Only then we go back and forth, and we banter until we outdo each other. But you're right. I'll apologize. You know, I'll smooth things over.
Chloe: I wish Lucas would just trust me.
Nicole: Lucas has always been high-strung when it comes to parenting.
Chloe: You think? "Did you check on Allie? I have to see if Allie's okay. Let's watch Allie eat and sleep and breathe. Wow, it's amazing. Allie, Allie, Allie." It never stops.
Nicole: He also probably feels that any chance Sami gets to take full custody of her, she will.
Chloe: People get babysitters all the time. It's not like I abandoned her.
Nicole: I know. Are you sure that's all you're upset about?
Chloe: I don't know. I guess I'm just feeling like I'm not ready for this whole family thing, you know, with a baby and the cabin and always worrying if I'm doing enough for Allie. It never is enough, and it never will be. I'm starting to feel trapped, Nicole.
Nicole: I know what you mean.
Chloe: I'm beginning to think I want out.
Bo: I appreciate your confidence in me, man, but like I said before --
Roman: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you love the hunt. You hate being behind the desk. I got all that.
Bo: What is your problem? I mean, you don't take the job. You're unhappy with Hope when she doesn't take it. And now me? You of all people I figured would understand how I feel about this.
Roman: I do understand how you feel, Bo, but you're underestimating yourself. You can do this job, and you can do it well, and, more importantly, we need you to do this job.
Bo: You know what? I got work to do.
Roman: Bo, there's no reason in hell you can't follow in Abe's footsteps.
Bo: We have been over this. I've told you --
Roman: Do you care about the people of Salem?
Bo: Of course I care.
Roman: Do you care about fighting corruption? About us being able to do our job to the best of our ability? Do you care about making a difference?
Bo: You know I do. What the --
Roman: All right, good.
Bo: What are you doing?
Roman: As commander, I'm calling the mayor's office and I'm personally recommending you as Salem's Commissioner of Police.
Nick: I shouldn't be one to give advice.
Chelsea: Sure you should. You're perfect after all.
Nick: That's true. But still, it's not really my business.
Chelsea: You were gonna give me advice about Daniel.
Nick: And your grandma... Kate.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Nick: Here comes another cliché©, but since I found it to be pretty true for me...
Chelsea: Go on, please.
Nick: Well...anger stops your energy. It hurts you way more than the person you're mad at. It also keeps you tied to that person, so you can't really let go of them until you've forgiven them.
Chelsea: Forgiveness. It's not really one of my virtues, like I said.
Nick: Sometimes you got to work on it.
Chelsea: Is that what you had to do? With me, did you have to work on forgiving me?
Nick: No. Um...I could never really stay mad at you for that long, but, uh...you know, you forgave me for things, so who am I to hold a grudge?
Chelsea: I'm lucky that I have you. Although...
Chelsea: I don't really have you anymore, do I?
Nick: What do you mean?
Chelsea: Now you've moved on from me, haven't you?
Trent: Can I...get you something to drink?
Melanie: None for me. Max?
Max: No, I'm good.
Melanie: So your text, you said it was urgent that you see me.
Trent: Yeah. It was really good of you to come by so quickly.
Melanie: What do you want?
Trent: [Clears throat] Well, I was...hoping you would help me out. Now, I know neither of you is feeling all that warm and fuzzy toward me right now. But I am your father. And I'm in trouble. It's bad trouble.
Max: Can you be a little more specific?
Trent: My friend Claude in Marseille. And, Melanie, I'm not saying it's your fault, but I know I put you in a difficult position there, but bottom line, sweetheart, you left a real mess with him.
Melanie: Oh, yeah. I remember how messy things got. Nick got shot. Your friend Claude went to jail.
Trent: Yeah, well, that was only for one night. But still, in all, he's not too happy with me, needless to say.
Melanie: So you want me to clean up your mess.
Trent: Well, it's either that or I'm a dead man.
Max: Wow. You -- you're really in a bind here, aren't you?
Trent: It is a bad situation.
Max: And this guy, he's threatening you? Is that what's going on?
Trent: Claude is a very dangerous man.
Max: And he might even...kill you, I mean, if he doesn't get what he wants?
Trent: There's no "might" about it. He will.
Max: Oh, wow. That just breaks my heart.
Trent: Listen, Max.
Trent: I know you're not my biggest fan.
Max: No, no.
Trent: But I am your father. We may not see eye to eye all the time, but there is a connection there. I feel it. I know you do, too.
Max: Right, well, I don't feel anything.
Trent: Melanie, listen to me, please. Obviously, your brother's still holding a grudge against me, but...you and I, we understand each other. Now, I know I disappointed you from time to time, but you're my girl. I love you so much.
Melanie: No, Max, I can't do this. I can't be here, not when he's like this.
Trent: Like what? I'm only telling you how much you mean to me. That you're my last hope. I won't ask you again, I promise. Just this one last time. Oh, God, please help me, Melanie. Please.
Nick: [Chuckles] I-I-I don't get it. This is mind-boggling to me. I swear.
Chelsea: What are you talking about?
Nick: Well, you're acting a little possessive of me, which is crazy because --
Chelsea: I know, because it doesn't make any sense. Yeah, I have no right to comment on your life.
Nick: No, you can comment. You just -- you can't judge. You have this tone in your voice when you talk about Melanie.
Chelsea: Well, that doesn't have anything to do with you. That has to do with Melanie. I just -- I don't really get what you're doing with her, 'cause she's trouble.
Nick: Oh, and you know so much about that. You know, people who date cheating doctors shouldn't throw stones.
Chelsea: Okay. So you're gonna get back at me by macking on Melanie.
Nick: Oh, my God, Chelsea. Don't be ridiculous.
Chelsea: This whole conversation is ridiculous.
Nick: You're being totally dysfunctional with me right now. You know, it's like I screwed up, you forgave me. Dan screwed up, you can't forgive him. You can't forgive Kate. Maybe that wound cut a little becoming your consolation prize.
Chelsea: God, you make me sound like a horrible person, Nick.
Nick: No, no. Just screwed up. All right, just leave me alone. If I want to pursue something with Melanie, that's my business and I'm gonna do it. And if you're not okay with it, then just stay away from me, okay?
Max: Leave her alone.
Trent: Come on, Melanie. You know you have a soft spot for your dad.
Max: She's not gonna help you.
Trent: Look, I admit I have some problems. I can be moody sometimes, but, you know, I haven't had an easy life myself.
Max: I said leave her alone.
Trent: But I'm gonna change. I swear it. After this, I'm cleaning up my act, and it's all because of you. Honey, you're my inspiration. I look at you, my beautiful daughter, and I know that I can change. I can be the person I was meant to be.
Melanie: Do you mean that, Dad? You're gonna change?
Trent: I will if you'll help me, if you'll be by my side.
Melanie: I want to be.
Max: No, damn it!
Trent: Hey, stay out of this.
Max: No, you shut up. He's manipulating you. Can't you see that?
Trent: Hey, this is none of your damn business.
Max: She is my sister, my flesh and blood.
Max: No. Unlike you, I care for my own, okay? I protect them, and I defend them.
Trent: You protect them and defend them? Oh, my God. You've seen too many movies, Max.
Max: You stay away from her. You hear me? And you'll never go near her again, you son of a bitch, all right? I don't want to ever see you near her.
Chelsea: I don't know what to tell you, Nick. I really don't know why I do the things that I do. But that doesn't mean that I don't still care about you and that I have to keep my mouth shut when I see you running right off of a cliff.
Nick: I know that you don't like Melanie.
Chelsea: No, I don't.
Nick: And just so you know, she was a little on edge when we were in Marseille.
Chelsea: Please don't try to explain it to me.
Nick: Would you shut up and listen? Melanie is okay. You just have to see her through my eyes.
Chelsea: Okay. This ought to be really interesting. Please, tell me, what do you see?
Nick: She's, uh -- she's smart. She's funny. She's spontaneous. I've never really met anyone quite like her. She's different.
Chelsea: Yeah, that last part is definitely true.
Nick: And what I respect about her is that she doesn't feel sorry for herself.
Chelsea: Do you feel sorry for her?
Nick: Yeah. Knowing what she's been through, what her dad did to her, yeah, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Chelsea: Fine. Maybe all of that's true. But I still don't trust the girl, and I don't think that you should, either.
Chloe: I'm crazy about Allie. She's sweet and funny and that great little laugh she has. It's just that I'm starting to feel like I'm not cut out to be a mom. At least not yet.
Nicole: Yeah, I know how you're feeling.
Chloe: I'm sorry. Here I am going on about wanting to have kids eventually, and it's really insensitive of me. I'm sorry.
Nicole: Oh. Oh, don't -- don't worry about it. It's a good thing I can't have kids. You know, I can barely take care of myself.
Chloe: Stop selling yourself short. You're caring and sensitive, compassionate. You'd make a great mom.
Nicole: Okay, who's paying you to say this?
Chloe: It's true.
Nicole: [Chuckles] Well, thank you, but we're talking about you, remember? Talk to Lucas, Chloe. Tell him how you feel. He's a decent guy. He'll listen.
Lucas: [Clears throat] Chloe.
Lucas: I'd like to apologize for snapping at you. Sorry.
Chloe: It's fine. You were just being a good dad.
Lucas: No, I was being a neurotic dad. Just wondering if you would do me the honor of granting me a dance.
Chloe: That would be lovely.
Roman: Yeah. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, I will. You take care, too.
Bo: Damn it, Roman. Why'd you do that?
Roman: Because that's the right thing.
Bo: For who?
Roman: Well, calm down. You don't even have the job yet.
Bo: Yeah, well, I don't want the damn job.
Roman: You made that very clear. Bo, listen to me. Listen to me closely. I know when you take over, if you take over, that you're gonna feel it. You're gonna feel it down deep in your gut, in your heart, that this is the best thing to do. Trust me on this, Bo. Please.
Bo: In other words, take one for the team. [Knock on door]
Caroline: Oh, sorry.
Roman: Hey, Ma.
Caroline: I don't like to interfere.
Bo: No, that's okay. Come on in. What is it?
Caroline: I'm worried sick about Max.
Max: I'm not gonna let you get near her, all right?
Trent: T your hands off me, Max.
Max: Oh, no. I'm hang fun here.
Trent: Get your hands off of me.
Max: You know what? I don't ever want to catch...
Melanie: Nick, it's me. I need you to come to the Salem Inn now, please. I'll explain when you get here.
Trent: You want to kill me, Max, you go ahead, but I know you.
Max: You know me? You don't know a damn thing about me.
Trent: It'll haunt you for the rest of your life.
Max: You're dead wrong, Trent. You know what? Because I don't care and I never will. You know what? There's no guilt and no regrets. You are gonna die.
Melanie: No! No, Max, stop it!
Melanie: Please! Dad, stop! Max, stop it! Max, stop it!
Nick: What the hell are you doing?! Are you out of your mind?!
Max: No, he was trying to use her again to pay off his debts!
Trent: Hey, I never said that.
Max: Oh, really?
Trent: I said I needed money and cash.
Nick: I have it. I have money. Back down, Max. I have cash.
Caroline: There was such anger in his eyes. And he kept going on and on about Trent needing to be punished. Now, I told him it wasn't up to him and he had to let it go.
Roman: Max is a smart guy, .
Caroline: But this is dangerous for him. The father he never knew abandoned him, and then he goes to find his sister, only to learn that his father used her to pay off a gambling debt.
Bo: Yeah, Ma, he's angry, but he's not gonna go after the guy.
Caroline: Why not? He's impulsive, just like you are. He takes things into his own hands. That's what scares me.
Bo: Okay. I'll talk to him.
Roman: And I'll talk to him, too, Ma, but right now, you got to calm down.
Caroline: "Calm down"? We're talking about my son. I won't calm down until something is done to keep Trent away from him before Max does something he's gonna regret for the rest of his life.
Max: Get off of me! Did I just hear you right? You're gonna give this bastard money?
Nick: I'm just trying to help.
Max: No, the way you can help is by getting the hell out of here. This is none of your business.
Nick: I can give him the grant money.
Nick: The grant money will be a write-off and then he'll leave us alone.
Trent: Leave? Oh, no. I'm not going anywhere.
[Slow-tempo music plays]
Lucas: I'm really embarrassed.
Chloe: Why? You move fairly well for someone with two left feet.
Lucas: Well, not that. What I said before. I'm really sorry.
Chloe: It's fine.
Lucas: No. No, it's not. Really, I... I love my life with you. And I think you're great with Allie. You're loving, and you're caring.
Chloe: Lucas, I should tell you something.
Lucas: No, really, you need to hear this. Even though I don't always show it, I want you to know that... I really like having you in my world.
Philip: [Sighs] So...how'd your little talk go with Chloe? Everything okay with her and Lucas?
Nicole: Everything's fine. Why do you ask? Things getting a little dull between you and your Southern Belle?
Philip: Isn't really any of your business, now, is it?
Nicole: No, it's not. You know, now that we have a few minutes alone, Philip, I really need your help.
Philip: If this is about you and my Father --
Nicole: Just listen. If Victor doesn't honor our divorce settlement, I am ruined.
Philip: What do you want me to do about it?
Nicole: I don't know. Something, anything.
Philip: I'm not a lawyer, Nicole.
Nicole: You're his son.
Philip: You think he listens to me about his personal money?
Nicole: Well, can't you just talk to him?
Philip: Look, I like you, Nicole -- God only knows why -- and I want to do whatever I can to help, but I also know my Father. He's not gonna budge on this.
Nicole: He's insisting that I pay back the money I already spent. How the hell does he propose I do that? That is cruel.
Philip: I don't want to get involved. Whatever this mess is, is between you and my Father.
Nicole: If Victor denies my right to that settlement...my future will go up in smoke, Philip. I won't have a future.
Philip: Well, maybe you should have thought of that before you married Trent Robbins.
Nicole: That son of a bitch is gonna pay for this.
Philip: Come again?
Nicole: This is all your brother's fault. If he didn't threaten to tell Victor that me and Trent were still married --
Philip: Bo was obligated by law.
Nicole: Like that's ever stopped him before.
Philip: Hey, that's enough. Now...look, I suggest you have a lengthy talk with your lawyer or see if Trent will reconsider this annulment.
Nicole: "Reconsider"? You obviously have no idea what kind of man he is. That son of a bitch wanted his daughter to put out with some creepy guy to clear a debt.
Philip: I heard the story.
Nicole: And you want me to negotiate with him? I want him dead.
Philip: Easy, Nicole.
Nicole: That man doesn't deserve to live. He should be shot dead and buried in an unmarked grave. And you know what? If I had the means, I'd do it myself.
Roman: Ma, you got to stop worrying about this now.
Caroline: Am I the only one who saw what Max is capable of? He broke a beer bottle, and he put it to Trent's throat.
Bo: He regretted doing that.
Caroline: He never expressed any regret to me.
Roman: This is an emotional time for Max, Ma, but I think he's sorting things out.
Caroline: Sorting it out. His father is a sick, terrible man who abandoned him and used his sister in a terrible way. How do you sort that out, huh? Where do you put that hurt? Where do you put that anger?
Roman: Okay, I'll tell you what, Ma. I will call Max, and I will check up on him.
Bo: Better yet. You know what? We'll take him out to dinner. We'll both have a talk with him.
Caroline: Not good enough.
Max: Oh, you're going somewhere, you son of a bitch.
Nick: Max, calm down!
Max: Get off of me!
Trent: I like it here in Salem, at the university. And we're gonna be rich.
Nick: What are you talking about?
Trent: Your fuel-cell thing. Once we get all the kinks worked out.
Nick: You know what? You can have the money. I told you, I'll give you the grant.
Max: Are you out of your mind?! Why are you trying to appease him?!
Nick: Don't you understand? I want him to leave us alone.
Trent: Oh, what's the matter, sweetheart? Why are you crying?
Melanie: Max, I can't do this. I got to get out of here. Please, Max.
Trent: No, no, no. Don't leave. Not yet. Come on. You're daddy's girl. You always have been. I know you want to help me, don't you? You do want to help me, don't you?
Lucas: I should probably head back to the cabin, let that babysitter get home early.
Chloe: I'll come with you.
Lucas: No, don't do that. Stay, have a good time. You know, enjoy yourself. I got work to do anyway.
Chloe: Oh, okay.
Lucas: All right. See you later.
Philip: Take care.
Nicole: I should probably go, too.
Chloe: You look a little pale.
Nicole: Yeah, I just, uh... I-I guess I'm just over-tired. We'll catch up later, yes?
Nicole: Okay. Philip.
Philip: Take care, Nicole. Be safe.
Philip: Let me pour you some wine.
Chloe: Thank you.
Philip: To us -- to being happy and to getting what we want. Or is that too generic?
Chloe: Works for me. Do you even know what you want, Philip?
Philip: Do you?
Nicole: E.J., it's Nicole. I'm in trouble. I really need your help.
Caroline: It's not good enough. You have to do more than just talk.
Roman: What more, Ma? You want us to keep him locked up in his room?
Caroline: This is not about Max. Because anything you say to him will not change him. You've got to do something about Trent.
Caroline: Yes. You got to get him to leave Salem, tell him he is not wanted here.
Roman: Ma, you're not even being rational now. We can't get the man to leave town just because we want him to.
Caroline: Why not? He's a criminal, isn't he? He used his daughter in a heartless way. I mean, that's unforgivable. It's indefensible.
Bo: That happened on foreign soil. Our hands are tied.
Caroline: Really? Well, mine aren't.
Melanie: No, I am never gonna help you again. You are nothing to me.
Trent: You don't mean that. You and I have a special bond. We always have, and we always will.
Melanie: Get away from me. Max, you're right. He's a monster. You are sick and twisted!
Trent: You disappoint me. Here you are, the apple of my eye, the chosen one, and yet you side with this reject?
Melanie: Max is the best person I know! And you just gave him away, you heartless bastard! You abandoned him!
Trent: I guess I'm just gonna have to face reality, then. You're both losers. Both my children. You're worth nothing!
Max: Let's go.
Trent: Fine. Fine! Walk out on me! You see if I care! I'm better off without both of you! All you ever do is tie me down! Both of you!
Max: Are you okay?
Melanie: Not if he's staying in Salem. Max, I can't be around him.
Max: No, he won't. Listen to me, Melanie. Look at me...Melanie. Our Father is as good as gone. In one way or another, he's leaving Salem tonight.
Kate: Whatever happened is over now.
Chelsea: Then why did you call her and ask her here to talk about the next step?
E.J.: Why are you referring to Trent as your dearly departed husband?
Nicole: Did I say that?
E.J.: Yes, you did.
