Stefano: Anna... join me for a drink. I'd like to have a word with you.
Kayla: Let's see.
Hope: Hey, Kay.
Kayla: Oh, hi.
Kayla: What are you doing here?
Hope: Tell me your shift.
Hope: Great. Hurry and change and meet me back here in, say, oh, 10, 15 minutes?
Hope: Well, because you and i are going to the blue note tonight.
Kayla: Oh, that would be nice, but I can't do that. I promised Steve that I would stay with Joe so that he could go to the Cheatin' Heart and play some pool and watch football.
Hope: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know all about our husbands' plans tonight, which is exactly why I asked your mom to take Ciara and stay with Joe. And no excuses, 'cause I know you're thinking of one. So, what do you say? The Blue Note?
Lexie: Okay, Theo, it's time to put the truck away. Okay.
Sawyer: Hi, Theo.
Lexie: Theo, hey, say hi to your friend Sawyer.
Sawyer: Mommy, why doesn't Theo ever talk to me?
Nicole: You need to calm down, E.J.
E.J.: And you, my dear, need to stay out of Samantha's affairs.
Nicole: Oh, please. I couldn't care less about Sami.
E.J.: Really? You're honestly going to try and deny this?
Nicole: Deny what?
E.J.: I just came from the Horton cabin.
Nicole: I know. You were trying to stop Sami from interfering in the new custody arrangement. Uh-huh. So, was she there?
E.J.: Oh, yeah. She was there... as were the police, but, then again, you already know that.
Nicole: I don't know what you're talking about.
E.J.: Don't play the innocent with me, Nicole. I know that it was you who called the police.
Sami: Come on, Dad. I don't understand what the big deal is.
Roman: Sami, you broke into the Horton cabin.
Sami: I did not break in. It was unlocked.
Roman: That doesn't matter. You weren't supposed to be there.
Sami: I had to check on Allie and make sure she was all right.
Roman: You could have called, okay?
Sami: I had to see for myself.
Roman: Sami, the judge granted Lucas joint custody of Allie. He has every right to take her to the cabin without your interfering. If you have a problem with that, take it up with your lawyer.
Sami: I will.
Roman: And until you get things worked out, I want you to follow the court order to the letter. Sami, promise me you will respect the judge's decision.
Sami: Come on, Dad. I can't do that.
Marlena: Well, then you won't be surprised when Lucas gets full custody.
E.J.: Nicole, I know that it was you that informed the police as to Samantha's whereabouts.
Nicole: Do you?
E.J.: Yes. What I don't know is why.
Nicole: Think about it, E.J. I'm sure something will come to you.
E.J.: Okay. Well, why don't you save us both a little bit of time... and explain?
Nicole: [Scoffs] Okay. I think you're doing Sami a great disservice by trying to save her from herself.
Nicole: Sami is the way she is -- you know, selfish, manipulative, a horrible excuse for a human being -- because people like you keep cleaning up after her mistakes.
E.J.: I'm not cleaning up after Samantha's mistakes.
Nicole: Oh, really? Then why else did you go to the Horton cabin?
E.J.: Nicole, I'm not going to apologize for protecting the mother of my child.
Nicole: Protecting her from what, other than herself? But, you see -- [Sighs] If one person in Sami's life -- one person -- would have let her pay for her mistakes like the rest of us do, then maybe she would have learned something and stopped making them.
E.J.: Maybe you have a point.
Nicole: Maybe I do. Do you realize that Sami has blackmailed almost everyone we know and switched paternity reports more times than I can count? I mean, anyone -- anyone else -- would have done at least a couple of years in prison, but Sami -- no. And if you don't count the time she was on death row, she has skated away scot-free every time.
E.J.: That may be true, Nicole, but it doesn't make it okay for you to call the police on her.
Nicole: Did you hear anything I just said?
E.J.: I heard every word you said. And, oddly enough, I don't disagree with you. Samantha is out of control.
Nicole: Yes, she is.
Sawyer: Mommy, what's wrong with Theo?
Woman: Oh, honey, nothing's wrong with Theo. He's playing with his truck.
Lexie: Sawyer, sometimes Theo gets so involved with his toys that he doesn't realize we're talking to him or that we're even here.
Woman: Like you do sometimes when you're watching your favorite TV show.
Woman: Sawyer was just saying how he missed seeing Theo in class.
Lexie: Oh, that's so sweet.
Woman: Did you enroll him in another preschool?
Lexie: Actually, uh, we're in the process of doing that right now. Um... Theo was recently diagnosed with Autism.
Woman: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
Lexie: Thank you. We're still learning about various programs and, uh, different specialists. And we want to wait until we find the right school for Theo.
Woman: No, I understand. You know, I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but Matthew Benson, another one of their old classmates, was also recently diagnosed with Autism.
Lexie: No. No, I didn't know that.
Woman: If you'd like, I can get you the Bensons' phone number. Maybe you could exchange notes on what you've learned so far.
Lexie: Yeah, that would be great.
Woman: I'll call you tomorrow.
Lexie: Okay. Thanks.
Woman: Honey, say goodbye to Theo.
Sawyer: Bye, Theo.
Lexie: See you later.
E.J.: Hey. Alexandra. I'm glad you're here.
Lexie: E.J. I'm sorry I haven't returned your calls. I've just been really busy.
E.J.: It's okay. I understand. Hey, Theo. Is everything all right?
Lexie: Yeah, everything's fine.
Pete: Hey, doc. What can I get you?
Daniel: I'll have the coldest beer you got. Keep her in the bottle.
Pete: You got it.
Daniel: Are you drinking alone?
Nicole: Oh. Actually, I'm -- I'm not drinking. It's just plain Vitamin C good-for-you O.J.
Daniel: You're turning over a new leaf?
Nicole: What's the point at this stage of the game? Um, Pete, can you [Clears throat] Put some vodka in this, please, for me?
Sami: Mom, I really don't think that the judge would ever give Lucas sole custody of Allie.
Marlena: Don't you?
Marlena: Okay, listen. I'm not here to talk about that. I was just curious to understand why in the world you felt you had to go to the Horton cabin.
Sami: Because I was worried about my daughter. Lucas has never taken care of her by himself.
Roman: Sami, there is nothing wrong with you being concerned. The problem is you went to the island uninvited.
Sami: Because I was worried. And it's a good thing that I did, because when I showed up there, Allie was completely unattended.
Roman: I doubt that.
Sami: Well, she was. They were outside. Lucas was chopping wood, and Chloe was taking a shower. Lucas has behaved completely irresponsibly. He has not earned the right to have custody of Allie, and I have a good mind to go back out there --
Marlena: Stop it! You sound like a spoiled brat.
Marlena: Samantha, you need to grow up.
Marlena: You are a woman with three children. You need to begin thinking about what is best for them.
Sami: I do.
Marlena: I disagree. And I think your father might disagree, too. Because if you were considering what is best for your daughter, you would realize she needs both parents involved in her life. I raised you better than that, Sami.
Roman: Doc... listen. I agree with pretty much everything you said in there, but don't you think you might have been a little too hard on her? [Purse zipper zips]
Marlena: No, I don't. I think we've been too soft on her her entire life. Sami is now spoiled. She is selfish. She's a manipulator. And if she doesn't change pretty soon, her children will pick up those same traits. This day's been a long time coming, Roman, and I will no longer enable her. I suggest you follow my lead. Because if we don't, she will never -- ever -- change.
Hope: Kay, honestly, it has been forever since the two of us have just hung out together, you know? No kids, no husbands, no worries. What do you say? This is really a hard sell. We'll go just for a little while. Come on. We'll just catch up.
Kayla: Well, maybe you're right. We can call it ladies' night.
Hope: That's the spirit.
Kayla: I mean, really, if our husbands can go take a break and relax and unwind, we should be able to, too, right?
Hope: My sentiments exactly. You know, actually, I'm -- I'm really glad that Steve and Bo are at the Cheatin' Heart. Bo needs a distraction.
Kayla: What do you mean?
Hope: [Exhales deeply] He's really angry about Stefano not being charged for his role in the hospital lock down and absolutely determined to find a way that he pays for what he's done.
Kayla: Yeah. Steve's angry, too. In fact, I've been worried that Steve might take it into his own hands to go after Stefano himself.
Stefano: Have a seat.
Anna: You know, I'd love to stay and chat, Stefano, but I have to wash my hair.
Stefano: You still prefer a wedge of lime with your vodka?
Stefano: Good. Come in. Sit down. Come, make yourself comfortable. There's something I want to show you.
Anna: You didn't lace this with arsenic, did you?
Stefano: Oh, yes. [Chuckles] No, no, no, no, no. My, uh, my poison of choice is mercury. [Chuckles]
Anna: [Chuckles nervously] What do you want to show me?
Stefano: Mm-hmm. Of Antony.
Anna: I asked him once if he had any old photos, and he said no, he didn't have any.
Stefano: Ah, see, but he does not know that this exists.
Anna: Look -- his first communion.
Stefano: See? Uh-huh. [Chuckles]
Anna: And I didn't know he played cricket.
Stefano: Oh, no, no. He was an excellent athlete. Actually, he was one of the best at his school.
Anna: How did you get so many pictures? I know you weren't around while he was growing up.
Stefano: Ah, yes, but, you see, I kept a close watch on him while he was in school. I was very proud of Tony.
Anna: Well, there was a time when he idolized you.
Stefano: Well, I had high hopes for him.
Anna: But not anymore.
Stefano: Antony has betrayed me. He's betrayed the family. And for that...he will pay.
Sami: What took so long?
Roman: Well, I ran into Judge Henderson in the hallway.
Sami: What did he say?
Roman: Apparently word got back to him about your little trip to the cabin.
Roman: He just gave Lucas an extension on his time with Allie.
Sami: He can't do that!
Roman: Of course he can, and he did. He took your blatant disregard of his ruling as a slap in the court's face.
Sami: He said that?
Roman: Yes, he did say that.
Sami: Well, I'm gonna call my lawyer.
Roman: What for?
Sami: Well, obviously, he has to do something. The judge didn't even take into account the fact that Lucas had left Allie unattended.
Roman: Sami, you can try to change Judge Henderson's mind, but I don't think it's gonna work. My bet would be that you're just gonna make him madder.
Sami: Whose side are you on, anyway, Dad?
Roman: Allie's. How about you?
Daniel: So, uh, where's your dog?
Nicole: Oh. Pookie's on a play date.
Daniel: You're kidding, right?
Nicole: Do I look like I'm joking?
Daniel: Well, I guess you really love your dog.
Nicole: Well, Pookie's more than just a dog. She's my best friend, and she's the only one I got now that Ava Vitali's gone.
Daniel: You can't be serious.
Nicole: Oh, I know. I'm pathetic, right? [Groans] [Chuckles]
Daniel: Tell me something. If you're so alone and unhappy, why are you sticking around? Because there are a lot more happening places than Salem.
Nicole: Isn't that a little personal?
Daniel: I think we're way past talking about the weather.
Daniel: Okay, fine. Fine. If you don't want to talk, that's cool.
Nicole: Well [Chuckles] What the hell? Uh, first, I stayed in Salem because of a guy.
Daniel: But that didn't work out?
Daniel: And now?
Nicole: Still here because of a guy.
Daniel: Same one?
Nicole: Different one.
Daniel: How's that working out?
Nicole: Not so well. Uh...
Nicole: Could you excuse me for a second?
Daniel: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
E.J.: Lexie, you're, uh, you're obviously upset. You want to tell me what's wrong?
Lexie: Nothing. Really.
E.J.: I know about Theo's diagnosis. If you need any help at all...
Lexie: [Sighs] Can you get him to stop spinning the wheels on this truck?
E.J.: He does seem a little preoccupied with it.
Lexie: Yeah, that, a milk lid, an eraser, Chelsea Brady. I mean, I could fill a page with a list of things and people who occupy my son's interest. I just wish Abe and I were on that list. Oh, listen to me. I must sound like a horrible mother.
E.J.: Oh, come on, Alexandra. You're a wonderful mother. You are, okay? You're just tired and frustrated.
Lexie: Well, enough about me. Whining won't make things better.
E.J.: Look. He's found something else to occupy himself with.
Lexie: Uh, Theo, honey, don't play with the spoon.
E.J.: Whoo. Got it.
Lexie: You see what I mean? So, how are things with you? Are you still living at the mansion?
E.J.: Yes, I am.
Lexie: And Father?
E.J.: He's, uh, still there, though I haven't actually seen a lot of him of late. He seems to be holed up in his own wing.
Lexie: Hmm. [Spoon falls]
E.J.: There we go.
E.J.: There you go.
Lexie: Thank you. Plotting revenge, I'm sure.
E.J.: Oh, yeah, I don't doubt it.
Lexie: I need to stop by the mansion and talk to him.
E.J.: Are you sure that's wise?
Lexie: Well, you know, I mean, I can't avoid him forever.
E.J.: You could give it a shot. [Both laugh]
Lexie: E.J. No, really, I need to go in and deal with him, you know? I need to concentrate on Theo and my marriage and work. I've been called before the hospital board for a performance review.
E.J.: Why? Don't tell me that it has to do with that stupid lock down stunt Father pulled. I was talking to Tony -- [Spoon falls]
E.J.: He was worried that would get you in trouble.
Lexie: Well, you know, the residuals of that and, you know, dealing with Theo and his therapy -- I've been missing out on a lot of important meetings and falling behind in my paperwork and my -- everything.
E.J.: So you -- you are in trouble?
Lexie: Well, let's just say there are a few board members who aren't my biggest fans.
E.J.: Yeah, but you also have Victor. You've got Julie Williams. You've got, uh, Maggie, Mickey Horton. They're on the board.
Lexie: Yeah. Yeah, they are.
E.J.: So you'll be fine.
Lexie: E.J., still, you know, it's just one more thing on my already overloaded list, you know? Ohh!
E.J.: You are my sister, and you are also a remarkable woman. It's going to be okay.
Lexie: Thanks for saying that.
E.J.: You're welcome. Now, how is Abe handling my father being out and about?
Lexie: Oh, goodness. He is livid that Father wasn't prosecuted.
E.J.: We all are.
Lexie: Yeah. He thinks that Father and John came to some kind of agreement, including John not pressing kidnaping charges against Father for holding him hostage all those months.
E.J.: In exchange for what?
Lexie: Who knows, E.J.? [Spoon falls]
Lexie: Theo! Give it to me.
Lexie: Theo, honey, do not play with the spoon. Do you understand? Okay. [Spoon falls] Theo. I'll take it. No, you can't have it.
Theo: [Whining loudly]
Lexie: No. Theo, calm -- calm down. No. Calm down. Calm down, Theo. Calm down.
E.J.: Alexandra, maybe you should just give it to him.
Lexie: No. No. You calm down, all right? All right? Theo, I need you to calm --
Theo: [Whining loudly]
Lexie: No. No.
Nicole: What's wrong with Lexie's kid?
Daniel: He's been diagnosed with Autism.
Nicole: I had no idea.
Daniel: It affects every 1 in 150 kids.
Daniel: It's rough. She and Abe are gonna be facing some very difficult years.
Nicole: I can't imagine what that must be like, and I don't want to.
Daniel: Well, I guess motherhood's not at the top of your agenda.
Nicole: You're right on that one. [Sighs]
Daniel: Are you all right?
Nicole: Yeah. My, uh, my stomach's just a little upset. Probably too many spicy chips and salsa.
Daniel: Or too many screwdrivers, cosmos, and martinis.
Nicole: Maybe. Uh, Pete, can I get some water, please?
Daniel: You know, if this keeps up, you can come by the hospital and we could run some tests.
Nicole: Why do doctors think that every pain and stomachache needs to be tested?
Daniel: It's that "better safe than sorry" thing.
Nicole: Thanks. Well, a little "pop, pop, fizz, fizz" and I'm sure I'll be as good as new.
Daniel: Okay. But, you know, if you want --
Nicole: Thank you.
Nicole: I'm fine.
Daniel: All right. All right.
Nicole: Uh, what were we talking about?
Daniel: Uh, why don't you -- why don't you tell me about this guy you're into? Does he have a name?
Nicole: He does. But I am tired of talking about me. Uh, Philip says you don't stay in one place for too long.
Daniel: Uh, yeah -- thank you -- that's right.
Nicole: So, why are you still in Salem?
Daniel: Well, believe it or not, I'm here for the same reason you are.
Nicole: You stayed because of a guy?
Daniel: Yeah, but no, no, although it might be easier. Who knows?
Nicole: So, uh, are you in love with her?
Daniel: [Coughs] Uh, well, that's pretty personal.
Nicole: Oh, come on. I told you about my pathetic past.
Daniel: Uh, yeah. Yeah. I care for her.
Nicole: Mm-hmm. So, what's the problem?
Daniel: Who said there was a problem? Did I say that?
Nicole: Uh, well, you're here at the Brady Pub throwing back beers when you could be with her.
Daniel: We, uh, we hit a little roadblock.
Nicole: A little one?
Daniel: All right, all right. A huge one. And now she is down in France.
Nicole: Wait a minute. Are we talking about Chelsea Brady?
E.J.: So, does, uh, Theo have these outbreaks often?
Lexie: Often enough. He misses Chelsea. That's why he keeps dropping the spoon on the floor. Children with Autism tend to express their feelings through acting out.
E.J.: I'm sorry. I had no idea what you and Abe were going through.
Lexie: You still don't -- not really.
E.J.: Look, I meant what I said, okay? If there is anything at all that I can do to help.
Lexie: Okay. Maybe down the line, all right? Right now Abe and I still are learning everything we can about the disorder, and it's really almost as much about us and how we deal with it as it is about Theo, you know? Okay, enough about me. I want to hear about that gorgeous son of yours. He must be getting big.
E.J.: He is. He's getting big. He just had a cold, so he's been a little bit cranky.
Lexie: Oh! And his mommy?
E.J.: Yeah, she's been a bit cranky, too. [Both chuckle]
Lexie: What's Sami done now?
E.J.: The, uh, judge awarded joint custody of Allie to Lucas, and that started this evening.
Lexie: Let me guess. Sami somehow found a way to interfere with it.
E.J.: Yeah. She snuck into the Horton cabin, which is where Lucas took Allie. I don't know. One thing's for sure. If Samantha continues to behave this recklessly with no concern for the consequence of her actions, it spells trouble, and I'm worried.
Lexie: Well, you should be. She's the mother of your child.
E.J.: Yeah. I still care about her, though.
Lexie: Oh, E.J., you are a glutton for punishment.
Anna: [Scoffs] Thank you for the drink, Stefano, but I think I'll just wait for tony upstairs.
Stefano: I hope you will share with Antony what you have learned.
Anna: Let me tell you something, Stefano. I am nobody's messenger, least of all yours.
Stefano: [Chuckles] Is that so?
Anna: Mm-hmm. And while I'm at it, you can stop with these empty threats. They're getting old.
Stefano: I never make empty threats. My children have all betrayed me. I will not forget it or easily forgive.
Anna: See, there you go again. What exactly are you going to do?
Stefano: My children have proven to be terrible disappointments.
Anna: Why, because they won't cower to your demands?
Stefano: No. Because they will not live up to the name that I gave them. They have disgraced me. And all I've done is -- is cherished them.
Anna: [Chuckling] "Cherished"? Are you kidding me?
Stefano: You disagree?
Anna: Of course I do. Staging Tony's death and then banishing him to some remote island for years isn't exactly what I would call cherishing.
Stefano: You don't know what you're talking about.
Anna: I've seen your version of love, and it's brutal.
Hope: Has Steve said anything specific that would make you believe he's going after Stefano?
Kayla: No, he hasn't, but i know my husband. And when Stefano kidnaped Joe in the hospital, Steve lost it. I could see it in his eyes. I knew right then that there is no way he is gonna let Stefano get away with this.
Hope: He can't take him alone.
Kayla: Well, I know that. I don't want him to. But you know Steve.
Hope: Yeah, I do. I'll tell you what. I'm gonna talk to Bo. Don't worry. We're gonna keep an eye on him, even if Bo and I have to call in a few favors to some of our buddies on the force.
Kayla: Thank you.
Hope: We're all furious about what Stefano did at the hospital and, like Steve, determined to see he'll pay the consequences.
Kayla: I just hope sooner rather than later.
Marlena: Hi, there.
Hope: We're so glad to see you.
Marlena: Why? What did I do?
Hope: Nothing yet, but we're really hoping you'll join us for a ladies' night out at the Blue Note.
Marlena: Done. I'll be there.
Kayla: Great. I'm gonna go get out of this doctor garb, and I'll see you guys back here in 15 minutes, all right?
Hope: Works for me. How you feeling?
Marlena: I feel fine.
Hope: Are the drugs that Stefano gave you out of your system?
Marlena: They are, thankfully.
Hope: Thank God. I want you to know that we're working around the clock to try to link Stefano to your poisoning, but it would help if we knew why he was targeting you.
Marlena: All right. I'll tell you why. Stefano is... paying me back for what I did to him.
Hope: What made Stefano poison you? Marlena?
Kayla: Okay. Ready to go.
Marlena: Hi. Hope was just asking me why Stefano injected me with toxins.
Hope: You know, don't you?
Kayla: Yeah, I do.
Hope: Tell me.
Marlena: Because I was responsible for his coma.
E.J.: Samantha's always going to be a part of my life.
Lexie: I understand that. But that doesn't mean you can't still have a meaningful relationship with another woman.
E.J.: I agree. I'm sure I will.
Lexie: But not now?
E.J.: Well, I'm just not sure if I'm ready for a relationship right now.
Lexie: Uh-huh. And why is that?
E.J.: Because I'm busy. I've got work. I'm raising Johnny.
Lexie: Is that the real reason, or are you still in love with Sami?
E.J.: [Chuckles] You don't hold back, do you?
Lexie: No. No. I'm only asking you this because I care about you. I just don't want to see you get hurt.
E.J.: You think Samantha's gonna hurt me?
Lexie: She's done it before.
E.J.: She really doesn't have a lot of fans in this town, does she?
Lexie: No, she doesn't. Come on. Isn't there anyone that you wouldn't mind, uh, getting involved with?
Daniel: Yeah. Chelsea and I -- we're, uh, we're seeing each other.
Nicole: Wow. Bo must have given you a lot of flack for hooking up with his daughter.
Daniel: He wasn't a happy camper at first, but he's dealing with it.
Nicole: Well, I don't know Chelsea very well, but she seems pretty nice.
Daniel: She's great.
Nicole: Hmm. So, uh, what did you do to send her running to France?
Daniel: Who said I did anything? And how do you know about all this stuff?
Nicole: Well, I spend half my time at the pub. So I know that Max, Stephanie, Nick, and Chelsea all took off to Europe.
Nicole: So -- okay, I will rephrase my question. What did you not do or say that made Chelsea hop on that airplane?
Daniel: Now, why is it every time there's a problem in a relationship, everybody just assumes it's the man's fault?
Nicole: 'Cause it usually is.
Daniel: Typical female response.
Nicole: Am I wrong?
Daniel: No. No, you're not wrong.
Nicole: So, what happened?
Daniel: I don't want to talk about it.
Nicole: Ah, that bad, huh?
Nicole: Well... I hope it works out, because you're a pretty cool guy, Daniel.
Daniel: Thank you. You're not so bad yourself.
E.J.: In some ways, Nicole and I are like kindred spirits. She did the most adorable thing earlier.
Lexie: What was that?
E.J.: She called the police when she found out Samantha was on her way up to the Horton cabin. [Both chuckle]
Lexie: How is that adorable?
E.J.: Oh, she did it because she wanted to cause problems between Samantha and me.
Lexie: Oh. I see.
E.J.: Not impressed?
Lexie: Not in the least. Listen, I've got to tell you. I spoke to Nicole about her feelings for you, and I encouraged her to, uh, go for it.
E.J.: Why? I mean, you obviously don't like her.
Lexie: I don't trust her, and -- okay, I encouraged her because I was hoping that she could get you to stop chasing after Sami.
E.J.: [Chuckling] Oh. Who you clearly detest.
E.J.: I see.
Lexie: And you know why.
E.J.: I do. I do. So -- what? -- Nicole is --
Lexie: She's the...
Both: Lesser of two evils.
Lexie: But that doesn't mean that I don't think that she still will be trouble. But I think I'm getting an idea of the kind of woman you're attracted to -- you know, high-maintenance, bad news.
E.J.: They do tend to flirt with trouble.
Lexie: Uh-huh. I don't -- I don't get the appeal.
E.J.: I don't know. I just find them spunky and ambitious.
Lexie: Wow. You love that, huh?
E.J.: I do. I think ambition is a highly commendable quality.
Sami: Dad, how can you even ask me that? Of course I have Allie's best interests at heart. That is exactly why I have to convince the judge to force Lucas to bring Allie back when he was supposed to.
Roman: Lucas does not want to hurt Allie. [Knock on door] Come in.
Officer: We have a situation in the interrogation room.
Roman: All righr. I'll be right there. You stay out of trouble. You hear me?
Sami: Yeah, I hear you. [Scoffs] [Dialing]
Hope: You're responsible for Stefano's coma? How?
Marlena: I went to the jail to see him, and I injected him with a combination of untraceable toxins.
Hope: The same drugs he gave you?
Marlena: Yes. I did it to get back at him for all the things he had done to John and to me and to our family.
Hope: Who else knows about this?
Marlena: Well, uh, John... Sami...Roman...Kayla.
Kayla: But I'm sure that Stefano told E.J. and Tony, but I don't know if they believed him.
Marlena: I know that I've put you in a terrible position -- telling you all this.
Hope: You told me the truth.
Marlena: I'm not proud of what I did. I violated my oath as a doctor, the only thing I know to be right, just, and good, when I gave him those toxins, but to protect my family, I would do it all over again.
Stefano: Soon I will have a new album to add to my collection.
Anna: Filled with what?
Stefano: Pictures of my new heir.
Anna: I'm confused. Who are you talking about?
Stefano: Kate. She can mother my child.
Anna: That's why you asked her to marry you?
Stefano: Well, it's as good a reason as any to get married.
Anna: Not really. What about love?
Stefano: Oh, yes. Love. Yeah. A sometimes useless emotion.
Anna: On that note, I think I really will leave.
Stefano: Take the album. Show it to Antony so he'll remember who he once was.
Anna: I'll pass, Stefano. Thanks. I'm sure tony will, too.
Stefano: Yes, Mary?
Mary: Ms. Brady asked me to give this to Mr. Black.
Stefano: Then give it to him.
Mary: Unfortunately, he's unavailable, and it's urgent. I thought you could help.
Stefano: Thank you. Let me see. [Exhales deeply]
Daniel: It's him, isn't it?
Daniel: That's the guy you were talking about.
Nicole: Yeah. It is.
Daniel: I figured. You've been staring at him all night.
Nicole: No, I haven't.
Daniel: Yeah, you have. Yeah.
Nicole: Well, I've, uh, I've just made so many mistakes with guys. I -- for once, I just want to get it right.
Daniel: Well, you know, I'm no expert on relationships, but I hear honesty is the best policy.
Nicole: [Chuckles] Did you get that off the back of your cereal box this morning?
Daniel: I saw it on "Oprah."
Daniel: I mean, the nurses -- they were watching the monitor in the lounge.
Nicole: Sure. Sure. That's nice. Mm-hmm. [Chuckles]
Daniel: I'm just trying to figure you women out. So, seriously, what's stopping you from making things work with him?
Nicole: I think he's still hung up on his ex.
Daniel: You think?
Nicole: All right. I know.
Daniel: Hey, I was there a few months ago. But when the right person kind of comes along, you find a way to move on.
Nicole: So you're saying i should just bite the bullet and try to make it work with E.J.?
Daniel: Well, what's the worst that could happen?
Nicole: I can think of a lot of things.
Daniel: But none any worse than being best friends with a dog.
Nicole: Hey! You leave Pookie out of this.
Daniel: Hey, hey, I am just saying -- [Both chuckle] Man.
E.J.: Theo, do you mind if I have a go? Can I play with this? There we go. [Imitates truck engine] Wow. I can see why you like this so much. For me? Well, thank you. That's very kind of you. You know, could you do me a favor? If I give this back to you, would you look after this for me? There we go. Thank you.
Lexie: I'm impressed. He likes you.
E.J.: He's a good kid.
E.J.: Look, I have to go. It's my turn to put Johnny to bed and read him a story.
Lexie: Okay. E.J., you're a good guy. Don't sell yourself short.
E.J.: Thank you. It's good to see you.
Lexie: Good to see you.
Woman: It was good seeing you and Theo, and I'll call you tomorrow with that number.
Lexie: Okay. Thank you so much.
Woman: You're welcome.
Sawyer: Bye, Theo.
Woman: Come on, honey. It's time to go home.
Sawyer: Mommy, can I have some ice cream?
Woman: No, baby. You already had dessert with dinner. Come on. Let's go. [Door closes]
Hope: You realize Stefano's not through with you yet?
Marlena: The next time he comes after me, I'll be ready for him. We all will.
Kayla: You're damn right, we will.
Nurse: Miss Brady, uh, you have a visitor.
Sami: Oh, uh, thanks. Thank God. John, I'm so glad. What took you so -- what the hell are you doing here?
Stefano: Well, I hear you have a problem with Lucas Roberts. Maybe I can help.
Sami: You can go to hell.
Stefano: Good old hell. [Chuckles] What would they do without it?
E.J.: This cocktail party is probably his way of reasserting his proprietary rights.
Tony: What's your point? Say it straightaway. Otherwise, Anna and I are going to be leaving.
Sami: I am so over this. I am going to bed.
Stefano: Stop it. No one is leaving here now -- not until you have seen firsthand why our guest of honor has been brought here.
