Caroline: More coffee?

Steve: Yeah, sure. Thanks.

Caroline: Okay. Listen, before you leave, you come back to the kitchen. I made a pot of potato soup I want you to take home.

Steve: Potato soup? That's a change.

Caroline: About time.

Steve: Yeah.

Caroline: Um, I talked to Kayla. She said she was gonna take a few days off from work so she could be with little Joe.

Steve: Yeah, she's pretty shook up over what happened at the hospital.

Caroline: So am I. I can't believe Stefano. He tried to kidnap my grandson. Have the police found Stefano yet?

Steve: No. But when they do, he's gonna have to answer to me.

Caroline: Gosh, you must be exhausted. Why don't you go home and relax?

Steve: I'm fine. Besides, I got to get some work done first.

Caroline: What are you working on?

Steve: My new website.

Caroline: What's it for?

Steve: Kayla didn't tell you?

Caroline: No. Mnh-mnh.

Steve: I'm starting my own business. You'll be the first one I give one of these to.

Caroline: "Steven Earl Johnson. Private Eye"?

Steve: That's right. Check it out. Been? You guys some food.

Max: Good. Did you find anything?

Melanie: Of course. Catch.

Max: A candy bar. Thank you.

Melanie: It's the best I could do with no money.

Max: You know, I'm not even gonna ask how you got this.

Melanie: So, where's the girlfriend?

Max: She's in the rest room. Did you get a candy bar for her?

Melanie: No.

Max: Melanie?

Melanie: Fine. Here.

Max: Thank you. She'll appreciate it.

Melanie: Yeah, well, she better. You know, I don't really like your girlfriend.

Max: That's funny, because, you know, she doesn't really like you, either. Where's Nick?

Melanie: I don't know. He bailed when I was trying to find you something to eat.

Max: He'll probably be back.

Melanie: You know, your friend's kind of cute.

Max: Is he?

Melanie: And I hear he's gonna be pretty rich soon with that new invention of his.

Max: Yeah, that's great. Speaking of money, did you talk to Tiffany? Is she gonna help us out?

Melanie: Max, I don't think I'd count on Tiffany.

Max: We had a deal. I mean, if she agreed to drop the charges, then I wouldn't have to call Trent for bail money.

Melanie: I know, but Tiff is still pretty mad at me, and I'm not sure she's gonna show.

Max: Fine. I'm calling Trent. [Cellphone ringing]

Nick: [Scoffs] Hello?

Trent: Nick, it's Dean Robbins.

Nick: Hi, dean.

Trent: I'll make this brief. I understand you canceled our meeting with the grant committee.

Nick: That's correct.

Trent: Why?

Nick: I had to leave town for a family emergency.

Trent: Is there anything I can do to help?

Nick: Well, um, Professor Stanley and Professor Cook both said that they could take over my classes for the week, so I'm fine for now, but thank you.

Trent: Well, family's important. You take all the time you need. We'll hold down the fort till you get back.

Nick: I appreciate it.

Trent: Oh, before I forget, I had a chance to go over your blueprints for the prototype. I must say, they're quite impressive.

Nick: Thank you.

Trent: However, I did make a few notes I'd like to run by you before our next meeting.

Nick: Okay, great. I'll take a look at them as -- as soon as I get back.

Trent: Well, better yet, why don't I have Kathleen overnight them to you?

Nick: That really isn't necessary.

Trent: Oh, I insist. Where are you staying?

Daniel: Chelsea, I am so sorry.

Chelsea: Sorry that you got caught?

Daniel: No, no. It's over.

Chelsea: You're right, Daniel, it is very much over.

Daniel: No, I mean w-with me and Kate. It's over.

Chelsea: So you admit it?

Kate: Daniel, don't.

Daniel: No. She knows, Kate. I'm sorry, but it's out there. She saw the text you sent me. She knows that you and I slept together.

Kate: I'm sorry.

Daniel: Look, Chelsea...

Chelsea: Don't touch me. I-I just -- I just need to think.

Lexie: Theo! Theo!

Chelsea: Hey, buddy.

Lexie: Theo! Honey, do not run away from me like -- honey, look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Sweetheart, do not run away from me like that, okay? It scares me. You could get hurt. Okay? Sorry.

Chelsea: Oh, that's okay, trust me. Totally fine.

Caroline: Your own P.I. business -- wow.

Steve: Yeah, I've been thinking about starting one for a while now.

Caroline: I had no idea.

Steve: Well, I didn't tell many people about it, you know? I got to do something to keep from going crazy.

Caroline: [Chuckles] And do you really think being a private eye is the answer to that?

Steve: Well, think about it. I don't have too many marketable skills. There's no radio format for the blues harmonica. All I really know how to do is get into trouble, get out of trouble.

Caroline: Don't you think it's pretty dangerous?

Steve: Oh, no. Come on. It's not dangerous. It's not like what they want you to believe from those TV shows. It's not, you know, run around, getting into gunfights and catching the bad guys the police can't catch. It's more like, uh, checking into missing persons, doing legwork, you know, investigating fraud, scams, cons, things like that.

Caroline: Yeah, and cheating wives and husbands.

Steve: Oh, well, I'm not really interested in those kinds of cases.

Caroline: Well, I think congratulations are in order.

Steve: Well, thanks.

Caroline: You know, you must be so excited about this.

Steve: I am. I am. You know, I've been doing freelance work for the Salem P.D. and some other clients for a while now. I figured it was the next natural step -- to go legit with it.

Caroline: How does Kayla feel about it?

Steve: Oh, she's on board 100%.

Caroline: That's my girl.

Steve: One of the reasons I decided to do this was so she could cut down on her hours at the hospital.

Caroline: I'm sure she appreciates that.

Steve: I'm telling you, Kayla hasn't had a good night's sleep since we got home. She sleeps with one ear open, always listening to see if our little guy's in distress or not.

Caroline: Well, I don't think that ever stops, you know? Moms have a kind of a sixth sense -- just always watching over them.

Steve: Papa's, too.

Caroline: Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah. No offense, Steve. Just not the same.

Melanie: Max, you promised to keep our Father out of this.

Max: And you promised to get me and Stephanie out of this mess.

Melanie: How am I supposed to do that?

Max: I don't know, but you better figure it out.

Melanie: You know, none of this would have happened if you'd have minded your own business.

Max: I was trying to keep your butt out of jail.

Melanie: Yeah, well, I have it under control.

Max: And Stephanie was right about you, you know that?

Melanie: What did she say?

Max: She said that you don't care about anybody but yourself.

Melanie: Well, that's not true. I cared about George.

Max: Yeah, until he runs out of money.

Melanie: And I care about my Father.

Max: At least someone does.

Melanie: Now, what is that supposed to mean?

Max: Nothing.

Melanie: No. Tell me, what's going on between you and -- and our Father, anyways?

Max: Who said anything was going on?

Melanie: Well, you just did, with your tongue. And I think you're hiding something from me. In fact, I changed my mind. Why don't you go on ahead and call our Father about the bail?

Max: I'll do it if Tiffany doesn't get here soon.

Melanie: No. Call now.

Max: Fine. I'll do it.

Melanie: Yeah?

Max: Yeah, I'll do it.

Tiffany: All right, Melanie, I'm here. What do you want?

Melanie: I-I need you to get my brother out of jail.

Steve: Now, wait a minute here, Mama Brady. Are you telling me that papa's don't love their kids as much as moms do?

Caroline: Oh, come -- no, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that there's something about a mother and her child, you know? Especially when they're babies.

Steve: I guess that's true.

Caroline: But I think it's because, in the deepest sense, it's because they're truly -- we're part of them.

Steve: I missed so much of that with Stephanie.

Caroline: Well, not this time.

Steve: No, not this time. I'm gonna be there every step of the way, although I have to admit I could live without those 3:00 A.M. feedings.

Caroline: Well, that's exactly what I mean. Mothers actually enjoy those.

Steve: Yeah, they do. Well, I'm gonna make sure that Kayla gets all the time she wants and needs with Joe.

Caroline: I think that's a terrific plan. And I think you're a terrific father.

Steve: Well, I don't know about that, but I'm trying.

Caroline: That's all that's important.

Steve: Yeah, you're right. Hey, Mama, have you -- have you heard from Max at all since he left for your Europe?

Caroline: Yeah, a few times. Not enough for me. Boy, I miss him.

Steve: Yeah, Stephanie, too. She hasn't -- she hasn't called much.

Caroline: I guess they're busy. They're gonna check in with us when they have news.

Steve: Yeah, you're probably right.

Caroline: Max is so determined to find his sister. Well, I hope he has and that everything's fine.

Trent: So, tell me your address and I'll have my secretary send you my notes.

Nick: You really don't have to do this, dean.

Trent: Nonsense. You're going through a difficult time. It's the least I can do to help. Now, tell me where to send the material.

Nick: You know what? I don't even know where I'm gonna be in a day or two.

Trent: Well, where are you now?

Nick: I'm -- I'm in a restaurant, and you know what? The owner is actually giving me dirty looks because I'm on a cellphone, so I got to go, okay? I'm sorry. I'll call you back.

Trent: Ni-- Nick, wait a minute. [Sighs]

Trent: Steve Johnson?

Steve: Yeah, that's right.

Trent: Trent Robbins.

Steve: What can I do for you?

Trent: Well, a friend of mine, Scott Pearson, told me that you do private-investigation work.

Steve: That's right. Take a seat.

Trent: Thanks. Yeah, I've, uh, seen you around. I mean, that patch of yours is pretty distinctive. One of my students knew you, as well, and he told me that you have worked with the Salem P.D.

Steve: That's right.

Trent: I need help finding a colleague of mine.

Steve: Okay. Is this someone you lost contact with a while ago or more recently?

Trent: Well, actually, we work together. I'm the new Dean of Physics at Salem University.

Steve: Congratulations.

Trent: Thank you. The person I need you to find is a professor who recently took a leave of absence without giving notice.

Steve: What's his name?

Trent: Nick Fallon.

Daniel: Lexie, it looks like you've got a little sprinter on your hands.

Lexie: Yeah. One minute I'm talking to Dr. Kelly. The next, I'm chasing Theo through the hospital.

Kate: Boys can be a handful.

Lexie: Well, Theo certainly keeps me on my toes.

Chelsea: Does Theo have an appointment today?

Lexie: Yeah, in five minutes.

Chelsea: Great. I'll take him for you.

Lexie: That's not necessary.

Chelsea: No, really. I would love to take Theo to his appointment.

Kate: Chelsea, we need to talk.

Chelsea: He and I get along really great, and we love spending time together, don't we? It's not a problem. Is his appointment with Dr. Bennett?

Lexie: Yeah.

Chelsea: Great. So, I'll take him, and you can have the hour to take a breather.

Theo: Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!

Lexie: It's okay. I'm right here. I'm right here. He's -- he's having a bad day, Chelsea. Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather take him to his appointment myself.

Chelsea: Sure. I understand.

Lexie: Excuse us.

Kate: [Exhales deeply] Okay. We really need to talk.

Chelsea: Go ahead. I can't wait to hear what you have to say about this.

Steve: So, you want me to find Nick Fallon, huh?

Trent: Do you know him?

Steve: Well, no, I don't really know him. I know who he is. He hangs out here at the pub, and I read that article in the newspaper about his less-fuel prototype thing.

Trent: Alternative fuel, actually. But, yeah, that's him. He's one of my protégés.

Steve: Oh, you must be proud. Seems like a smart young man.

Trent: Very, which is why his, uh, sudden disappearance is, you know, troubling.

Steve: What do you mean?

Trent: Well, I do consultation work for Nick on his prototype, and we were supposed to get together tomorrow to prepare for his meeting with the grant committee next week.

Steve: He canceled?

Trent: Mm.

Steve: Did he try to reschedule either one of those meetings?

Trent: Not to the best of my knowledge. It's really -- I mean, this is a very important project.

Steve: I understand.

Trent: I mean, if something is wrong, if he's in any kind of trouble, then I need to know now so I can do damage control before it's too late.

Steve: Got it.

Trent: And business aside, I'm truly concerned about him. It's not like him to leave without giving proper notice.

Steve: I assume you tried to contact him.

Trent: He doesn't return my calls.

Steve: Do you have any idea where he might be?

Trent: Well, not exactly, but he could be in Europe.

Steve: Why do you say that?

Trent: Well, he mentioned something about wanting to take a trip to France.

Steve: France, huh? Okay. I'd be willing to check into it for you.

Trent: Thank you.

Steve: I get $250 a day, plus expenses, and I'm gonna need a couple days up front.

Trent: Will you take a check?

Steve: Sure, as long as I can't play handball with it, professor.

Trent: [Chuckles]

Steve: That's all right. Listen, I'll, uh, contact you in the next day or so to get some more specifics, but I got what I need for now.

Trent: Scott told me you work fast.

Steve: Scott's a good guy.

Trent: You know what? He also mentioned that you have a daughter. Her name is Stephanie?

Steve: That's right. Do you know her?

Trent: Actually, I do.

Tiffany: You want me to help you get your brother out of jail?

Melanie: Yes.

Tiffany: Is this some kind of joke?

Melanie: Do I look like I'm laughing?

Tiffany: I'm out of here.

Melanie: No, Tiffany, wait.

Tiffany: Are you ready to apologize for stealing my bracelet?

Melanie: Hell, no. But -- but Max is.

Max: What?

Tiffany: I'm listening.

Melanie: Well, I don't know if you know this, but my brother is the famous race car driver Max Brady.

Tiffany: [Gasps] Oh, wow! I thought that I recognized you from somewhere.

Melanie: Oh, yeah, he's big-time all over the world.

Tiffany: I know. Actually, my ex -- the one that Mel stole from me -- he used to watch all of your races. You're really, really good.

Max: Thank you.

Melanie: Anyway, Max feels really bad about the whole bracelet thing, and he would like to make it up to you.

Tiffany: Really?

Melanie: Sure. Over dinner.

Tiffany: Dinner? That sounds so nice.

Melanie: There's just one problem..

Tiffany: Oh. He's still in jail.

Melanie: Bingo.

Sebastien: Five minutes, than you all must leave.

Melanie: Fine by me.

Stephanie: What's going on?

Max: I don't know.

Tiffany: You know what? Actually, forget about it. I will drop the charges against you, Max.

Max: You will?

Tiffany: Yeah, sure.

Stephanie: What about me?

Tiffany: Who are you?

Melanie: Uh, his cousin.

Tiffany: Oh! Okay. Well, I'll see what I can do to get you out, also.

Max: Okay, great.

Tiffany: Just one condition.

Max: What's that?

Tiffany: You have to go out with me -- alone.

Kate: Look, I don't really know where to begin.

Chelsea: Well, I think you should begin by telling me why you had sex with my boyfriend.

Kate: Chelsea, I know you're angry at me, and you have every right to be.

Chelsea: How could you -- how could you do it? How could you do it? She's my grandmother.

Daniel: I-I don't know. I mean, I know. I didn't --

Chelsea: No, please. Go ahead. Try to explain it.

Daniel: Kate and I -- we didn't have a relationship.

Chelsea: Oh. So, what, you just had a fling?

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, pretty much. Yeah.

Chelsea: That's supposed to make me feel better?

Daniel: Chelsea, look, it happened way before you and I got together.

Kate: That's absolutely true.

Chelsea: So, why not tell me? If it wasn't a big deal, why would you keep it from me?

Daniel: You're right. You're right. We -- we should have told you.

Chelsea: But you didn't.

Daniel: No.

Chelsea: You didn't tell me because you knew that it was wrong.

Kate: Chelsea, I'm sorry.

Chelsea: Don't insult me with those words.

Kate: Honey, can we go someplace less public and talk about this?

Chelsea: No. No. I do not want to talk about this. I don't want to talk to either one of you right now.

Tiffany: So, how does that sound -- you, me, and a romantic dinner at a restaurant of my choice?

Max: That sounds --

Melanie: Like a deal.

Tiffany: Good. Okay. Good. I will go talk to the police, then.

Max: Okay.

Melanie: See, I told you everything would work out.

Stephanie: Max, can I talk to you for a second -- alone?

Max: Sure.

Stephanie: What just happened here?

Max: I think Melanie's getting us out of jail.

Stephanie: Who's the other girl, the one one you're going to dinner with?

Max: Her friend. Her ex-friend. She's the one she stole the bracelet from.

Stephanie: You're not gonna seriously take her to dinner, are you?

Max: Well, yeah, I kind of promised.

Stephanie: This is so messed up.

Max: No kidding.

Stephanie: I told you Melanie was trouble.

Melanie: Hey, I heard that!

Stephanie: Then go outside.

Max: It's just a dinner.

Stephanie: I know. It's just the fact that --

Max: Let's just do this and get it over with, okay? And then we can go home.

Stephanie: Okay. Fine.

Max: Thank you.

Tiffany: Okay. Let's get this show on the road.

Max: So that's it? I mean, we can get out of here?

Tiffany: Uh, yeah. You bet. Are you ready for our big night out?

Stephanie: Oh, he's ready. He was born ready.

Max: A souvenir.

Tiffany: Let's get out of here.

Melanie: Have fun.

Stephanie: Thank you, Sebastien.

Sebastien: Voil , mademoiselle.

Melanie: Boy, they sure do make a cute couple.

Lexie: Daniel, got a minute?

Daniel: Yeah. What's up?

Lexie: You tell me.

Daniel: Well, it looks like I'm gonna have to put Bob Williams here on dialysis.

Lexie: You know very well that is not what I'm talking about.

Daniel: I do?

Lexie: Is everything all right?

Daniel: Me and Chelsea just hit a little bump in the road, but, yeah, we'll get through it.

Lexie: You want to talk about it?

Daniel: No, not particularly.

Lexie: Well, it might help. And, besides, let me return the favor. You let me talk your ear off about Abe and Theo a while back.

Daniel: The problem is I'm horrible at confiding. It probably has to do with the fact that I'm a man, not big on sharing.

Lexie: It might help to get it off your chest.

Daniel: Trust me, you don't want to hear what I have to say.

Lexie: Try me.

Daniel: All right. Well, here goes. Remember, I warned you.

Lexie: Okay.

Daniel: I slept with Kate. I mean, it happened a while back, but Chelsea just found out at the worst possible time. An extremely inopportune moment.

Lexie: Wow.

Daniel: Yeah. And, uh, I'm pretty sure I just screwed up the best thing that's probably happened to me in a long, long time. Glad you asked?

Steve: So, how do you know my daughter?

Trent: Well, Max Brady introduced us a while back.

Steve: So then you know Max, too, huh?

Trent: Mm-hmm. Yeah. He works here and is a good friend of Nick's. Please. You know, come to think of it, I haven't seen Max around here lately. He and Stephanie still dating?

Steve: Yeah, they're still dating. You know, to tell you the truth... I don't like the kid very much. You know, they met when Stephanie was still racing. Well, the kid doesn't like me, either, so we just stay out of each other's way.

Trent: Sounds like you don't want her to date him.

Steve: I don't, but I'm not allowed to say anything, you see? She gets mad. But I'm not worried. She's still young. It's not like she's gonna marry the guy.

Trent: I haven't seen either one of them lately. Are they away, too?

Steve: "Too"? What do you mean?

Trent: I just mean that, you know, they're good friends with Nick. I thought they might know how to get in touch with him.

Steve: Well, I'll talk to Stephanie and see if she knows.

Trent: Thanks. So, as soon as you find out anything, you'll contact me?

Steve: Absolutely.

Trent: Great. Let me, uh, give you my business card. My home number's on the back.

Steve: Good. Here's mine. I'll be in touch.

Trent: Excellent. Thanks.

Caroline: What did he want?

Steve: To hire me.

Caroline: What?

Steve: He wants me to find Nick Fallon.

Caroline: Well, Nick is in France...

Steve: Yeah.

Caroline: ...With Max and Stephanie.

Steve: I know.

Caroline: I don't like this, Steve.

Steve: Neither do I.

Caroline: What did you say to him?

Steve: I told him I'd find Nick.

Caroline: Why did you say that?

Steve: It's the best way for me to keep my eye on him.

Caroline: You really think that he's looking for Nick?

Steve: No. I think he's really looking for Stephanie and Max to see if they found Max's sister.

Stephanie: Nick, I was gone maybe 10 minutes. And in that time, Melanie managed to get one of the guards' phone number and set up a hot date for my boyfriend.

Nick: She also got you of jail, right?

Stephanie: That, too.

Nick: [Chuckles] I mean, you got to hand it to her. The girl is creative.

Stephanie: Nick, it's not funny.

Nick: No, it's not funny. Not funny at all. [Chuckles]

Stephanie: [Laughs] [Spoon clatters]

Stephanie: Okay. It's funny. It's hilarious.

Nick: It's pretty funny. Seriously, Steph, look at Max. I mean, it doesn't really look like he's enjoying himself.

Stephanie: Yeah. You think I should go over there and play the jealous girlfriend?

Nick: Make him really uncomfortable?

Stephanie: Yeah.

Nick: No. I think you should, you know, just keep doing what you're doing.

Stephanie: What's that?

Nick: You know, just watching. It basically has the same effect, minus the drama factor.

Stephanie: Good point.

Tiffany: Relax, Max. I'm not going to jump you in front of your girlfriend.

Max: [Chuckles nervously] You knew that Steph and I were together?

Tiffany: Yes, it's pretty obvious.

Max: And you still asked me out?

Tiffany: I was hungry, and I figured that you were, too. And, besides, you're famous, so being seen with you is totally gonna amp up my rep.

Max: Oh.

Tiffany: Mm-hmm.

Max: So you're not trying to --

Tiffany: Steal you from your girlfriend? No. I was just having a little bit of fun back at the jail. And if you promise not to get mad, I'll tell you a secret.

Max: What?

Tiffany: You have to promise first.

Max: All right. I promise.

Tiffany: Okay. I was already on my way to drop the charges when I got the call from Melanie.

Max: Oh. You were?

Tiffany: Yes. And I know you didn't steal my bracelet. And if I wasn't so angry last night, I would have made sure that Melanie was the only one who got locked up. So, anyway, I'm sorry.

Max: Don't worry about it.

Tiffany: Really? You're not mad?

Max: No. It all worked out.

Tiffany: Huh. So, I-I guess dinner is over, then.

Max: Well, we're here. I mean, we might as well eat, right?

Tiffany: Gosh, you know, you are a really good guy, Max Brady. If you weren't involved, I --

Max: I-I am. I am.

Tiffany: Gotcha. C'est la vie. Mm-hmm.

Max: [Chuckles]

Nick: Oh... I almost forgot to tell you. You'll never guess who called me today.

Stephanie: Who?

Melanie: Nick. Hey. Could I talk to you for a sec?

Lexie: Sounds like you could use a friend about now.

Daniel: Oh, Lex, Chelsea is a wonderful woman. I-I just -- I don't want to lose her.

Lexie: Are you and Kate still seeing each other?

Daniel: No. That's the thing. We never actually dated. It was just something that happened before Chelsea and I were even together.

Lexie: Well, did you tell Chelsea?

Daniel: Well, I tried, and she's understandably upset.

Lexie: Yeah. I mean, goodness, Daniel, can you blame her?

Daniel: No. I don't. I mean, I hooked up with Kate while Chelsea was my patient.

Lexie: Yeah, that was a pretty intense time -- with Bo's transplant and Chelsea's subsequent infection.

Daniel: Yeah. And I had just figured out that infection caused her infertility. So, needless to say, I blame myself.

Lexie: Daniel, you do know that wasn't your fault, don't you?

Daniel: Lexie, you know me. I took it pretty hard. Anyway, after I had told Chelsea the bad news, I promptly hit the bar, proceeded to get myself hammered. And after a while, Kate showed up and...I'm sure you can imagine what happened after that.

Lexie: Well, you want to know what I think?

Daniel: I do.

Lexie: Okay. I think that once Chelsea calms down and hears what you have to say, she'll understand.

Daniel: Do you really think so?

Lexie: Yeah, I do. It was a fling. And like you said, it happened before you and Chelsea started dating.

Daniel: And it never happened when we were. That is the God honest truth.

Lexie: Daniel, hey, I believe you. Listen, just give Chelsea time. And I'm sure that when she calms down, she'll understand.

Daniel: I hope you're right.

Trent: Melanie, it's your father. I need you to call me as soon as you get this. It's important.

Melanie: So, do you have a minute?

Nick: Uh, sure. Um, Steph, uh...

Stephanie: Sure.

Nick: Thank you.

Melanie: You must think I'm such a jerk.

Nick: Why would I think that?

Melanie: For getting Max into so much trouble.

Nick: Yeah, that was -- that was pretty bad.

Melanie: Anyway...

Nick: [Chuckles]

Melanie: ...I just wanted to thank you for convincing me to call Tiffany.

Nick: Oh, it was the right thing to do.

Melanie: Yeah, I know.

Nick: I'm glad you did it. I'm glad it's over.

Melanie: Me too.

Nick: So, you know, we've had a long day. What do you say we kick back, relax, get to know each other a little better?

Melanie: That works for me.

Stephanie: Dad, thank God you called.

Steve: Baby girl, what's wrong?

Stephanie: Well, you tell me. I got a text from a sorority sister saying that the hospital was locked down. Is Mom okay?

Steve: Yeah. Yeah, she's fine now. She's at home with your baby brother.

Stephanie: Good. I was worried about you guys.

Steve: So were we, but everything's okay now. What about you? I haven't heard from you for a while.

Stephanie: Yeah, sorry about that. We've just been kind of...busy.

Steve: Listen. I don't want to worry you more, but there's something I need to tell you.

Stephanie: What is it?

Steve: I talked to Trent Robbins today. He's looking for you and Max.

Tiffany: [Chuckles] See, I'm not that bad.

Max: No, you're -- you're not as bad as my sister. How did you two meet, anyway?

Tiffany: We go to the same school, and eventually we just started hanging out, you know?

Max: Hmm. And look where that got you.

Melanie: No kidding.

Max: No, she's not that bad.

Tiffany: We're still talking about Melanie, right?

Max: Yeah.

Tiffany: She is worse than bad. Your sister is horrible.

Max: Okay. Tell me how you really feel.

Tiffany: Seriously. How can you not know that?

Max: Well, believe it or not, she and I just met.

Tiffany: Really?

Max: Yeah. I, uh, well, before I came out here, she didn't know I existed.

Tiffany: That's crazy.

Max: Yeah, so I came to France to meet her.

Tiffany: Well, Max, I like you. Do yourself a favor and catch the next flight home.

Max: The thought has crossed my mind.

Tiffany: No, no, no. Stop thinking about it. Just do it.

Max: Yeah.

Tiffany: [Chuckles]

Max: What? What was that look for?

Tiffany: Nothing. You're just -- you're just so cute when you're confused. [Chuckles]

Max: Was that a compliment?

Tiffany: Yes.

Max: Well, thank you, I guess.

Tiffany: It's true. What would you say if I told you I really wanted to kiss you right now?

Max: I'd -- I'd say I'm sorry, and, um, I have a girlfriend.

Tiffany: And you know what I would say?

Max: What?

Tiffany: That I don't care.

Max: Okay.

Tiffany: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Hey.

Kate: Hey. So, do you think she's ever going to forgive us?

Daniel: I don't know.

Kate: It should never have happened, Daniel.

Daniel: Well, it's too late now.

Chelsea: Oh, I, uh, just checked in on Theo's session. It's going very well.

Lexie: I just sneaked a peek myself. Theo really likes you.

Chelsea: He's a great kid.

Lexie: Yes, he is.

Chelsea: All right. Well, I'm gonna head out.

Lexie: Why? You're not working today?

Chelsea: No. I just came to get my schedule from my supervisor and find out if there are any shifts that I needed to cover.

Lexie: Well, how ambitious.

Chelsea: No, not really. I understand why you doctors like spending so much time at work. It's really fun getting to know your patients.

Lexie: Yeah, it's certainly one of the perks of the job.

Chelsea: The cafeteria food, on the other hand, not so much.

Lexie: All right. All right. I'm working on it.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Lexie: You're welcome. How you doing?

Chelsea: I'm okay.

Lexie: Yeah? When Theo ran up to you earlier, um, I could tell we were interrupting something important.

Chelsea: Oh, no, it was nothing.

Lexie: Well, it didn't seem that way. You want to talk about it?

Chelsea: Uh, no, not really, but thank you.

Lexie: Okay. Mind if I, uh, give you some advice?

Chelsea: Okay.

Lexie: Remember -- there are always two sides to a story, and you owe it to yourself to hear both sides. See ya.

Trent: Relax. I will take care of it. Yeah. Max may have already found Melanie. Well, we knew this might happen. Relax. I said I will handle it.

Stephanie: What, Dad?

Steve: I said Trent Robbins knows Nick is with you.

Stephanie: How?

Steve: I don't know, but I'm coming to get you.

Stephanie: Oh, now, this is getting ridiculous.

Steve: Stephanie?

Stephanie: Papa, I have to go.

Steve: Stephanie?

Stephanie: Look, you don't have to come and get me. I'm taking the next flight home. I'll call you when I get to the airport.

Tiffany: [Chuckles]

Max: Oh, yeah, that was nice.

Tiffany: Well. Oh, it's getting late. I should go.

Max: Yeah.

Tiffany: Yes. I had fun. You're a very lucky girl, Stephanie. Take care, Max.

Max: You, too.

Stephanie: What was that about?

Max: I have no idea.

Stephanie: I saw what happened.

Max: She kissed me. She kiss-- I didn't do anything. She kissed me.

Stephanie: I know.

Max: You're not mad?

Stephanie: Nope.

Max: Well, good. Good. 'Cause you're the only woman I want to kiss right now.

Stephanie: Then what are you waiting for?

Max: I don't know. Sit down. Get over here.

Stephanie: Wait. Wait.

Max: All right. It's not my shade.

Stephanie: [Chuckles]

Kate: So, what do you think we should do next?

Daniel: Well, I'm gonna find Chelsea and get her to listen to me.

Kate: I'll come with you.

Daniel: No. No. I should do this alone.

Chelsea: Actually, I kind of want to talk to both of you. I have a meeting with my supervisor, and then after I get done with that, you're both gonna tell me exactly what went on between you two.

Chelsea: When you took yourself off my case and refused to be my doctor anymore, was that because you were hooking up with my grandma?

Tony: Father's out of his coma, and that will and John's claim to the DiMera holdings are no longer valid. Time to reclaim what's ours.

John: Blondie is missing.

Lexie: Missing?

John: As in "disappeared."
