Max: Oh, hey! Excuse-moi.
Max: Uh, when does le train depart? Thanks. Merci. For whatever you just said 'cause I have no idea. [Sighs] [Door opens]
Stephanie: Celez-vous? Is this seat taken?
Max: Steph, I --
Max: Oh, I... [Chuckles] Hi.
Nicole: Uh-huh. Could you repeat the order back to me? No, I said bubble-gum pink. Pookie doesn't like yellow. Yeah, the one with the feathers on it. Uh-huh. She'll love it. Just a sec, okay? Um, yes, so, can you overnight that to me? Great. Thank you. Hello. Thanks for meeting me. Great blouse, by the way.
Ava: Oh, thanks. What do you got here?
Nicole: Uh-huh. Yeah. So, how are things between you and Mr. Black?
Ava: Oh, well, we spent the afternoon together.
Nicole: Well, come on, girl. Dish.
Ava: That's it. There is nothing to dish.
Nicole: What do you mean?
Ava: Nothing happened.
Marlena: I'm sorry. You can't si-- Rolf, it's you. Oh, my goodness. Well, you look like an extra from "The Sopranos."
Dr. Rolf: Yeah, well, if John finds out I'm here with you, bada bing. I'd be sleeping with the fishes.
Marlena: Oh, relax. Come on. We're just a couple of old friends who are meeting for a cup of tea.
Dr. Rolf: Mm.
Marlena: Nothing wrong with that, right?
Dr. Rolf: So, what is this all about, Marlena?
Marlena: I need your cooperation, and I'm not taking "no" for an answer.
E.J.: Okay, so, my guest should be arriving shortly.
John: Are you certain that you've thought this through?
E.J.: I have thought this through. Thank you. Yes. This plan is going to restore your standing in the community.
John: Well, good luck.
E.J.: Uh-huh. You don't trust me, do you?
John: That's right.
E.J.: You will. After tonight, you will.
Lucas: What's the holdup, Roman? Why haven't I been sent back to Statesville?
Roman: We had a slight change of plans.
Lucas: What do you mean?
Roman: You're not going to Statesville.
Lucas: Where am I going?
Roman: Some place much worse.
Nicole: What do you mean, nothing happened?
Ava: Well, we fooled around a little bit, but he kept it strictly PG-13.
Nicole: What is the point of foreplay if you are not gonna play?
Ava: Well, obviously, John is not in the mood to play. Not with me, anyway.
Nicole: I don't get it. You're attractive.
Ava: I only get "attractive"?
Nicole: You're sexy, hot, unbelievably intelligent.
Ava: Much better.
Nicole: And he knows you're not after his money. I mean, you're already loaded. If I were a guy, I would totally jump on it.
Ava: I know, right! I mean, what is it gonna take?
Nicole: Well, the good thing is, is you've earned John's trust. That's huge. By the way, what's your secret?
Ava: I don't know. I just accept him for who he is. I have no preconceived notions about him. I am not trying to change him, like everybody else in this town. I guess he appreciates it.
Nicole: So, what do you think the problem is?
Ava: I don't think he's over Marlena.
Nicole: Don't give up.
Ava: Oh, well, I don't intend to.
Dr. Rolf: Uh, look, Marlena, I don't see how I can possibly help you. I shouldn't even be here.
Marlena: Rolf, don't do this. Just hear me out.
Dr. Rolf: Oh, God in heaven.
Marlena: What I want from you is very simple, in fact. [Cellphone ringing]
Dr. Rolf: Ah. Oh, dear.
Dr. Rolf: Yeah.
Marlena: Let it go to the machine.
Dr. Rolf: No, no, no, no, no. If I do that, he'll know for certain that something is up. [Sighs]
[American accent] Hello.
Dr. Rolf: Mr. Black, what can I do for you?
John: I want you to pick up a bottle of port on your way home from...ceramics class.
Dr. Rolf: Yes. Of course.
John: And not of inferior quality like the last time.
Dr. Rolf: Spare no expense. I understand. [Normal voice] I-if you don't mind, I-I-I have to put the finishing glaze on my soap dish.
John: Oh, Rolf, you and I are going to have a little talk when you get home.
Dr. Rolf: Um, ja. Ja. [Sighs]
E.J.: Judge Fitzpatrick. I'm so happy you could meet with me.
Karen: Please, it's Karen.
E.J.: Well, I'm delighted you could make it on such short notice, as well. It's quite -- would you, um, like to take a seat?
Karen: Thank you. I must admit. I did do a little homework on you before I accepted the invitation.
E.J.: Really? Did you? And you still came? That's very brave of you. Can I get you some tea?
Karen: Yes, thank you. It turns out that we have a mutual acquaintance.
E.J.: We do?
E.J.: Who's that?
Karen: Harry Roddinghouse.
E.J.: Harry Roddinghouse. Oh, my law professor at Cambridge. My goodness, I haven't touched base with him in ages.
Karen: Well, he thinks very highly of you.
E.J.: Well, I'm certainly pleased to hear it.
Karen: Thank you.
John: Excuse me.
E.J.: Oh, I'm so sorry. Karen, please allow me to introduce one of my clients. This is --
Karen: John Black.
John: Do I know you?
Karen: Karen Fitzpatrick. We used to run into each other from time to time.
E.J.: Did you really? That's quite interesting. I had absolutely no idea.
John: Neither did I.
Karen: Well, it was mainly at charity events and parties, mostly. You were always very generous.
John: So I've heard.
Karen: Well, it's -- it's so good to see you again.
John: My pleasure, Karen.
Karen: [Sighs] That poor man. To think what he's gone through.
E.J.: Yeah. Tragic.
Lucas: I'm in.
Roman: You're sure? It will be dangerous.
Lucas: You're not kidding. I'll be fine. I'll be fine. Whatever you need, Roman.
Roman: Good. I'll make the arrangements.
Lucas: Let's just keep this between us. I don't want Sami to find out where I'm going.
Roman: Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. Officer.
Lucas: I mean it. I mean, she'll freak out if she finds out I'm going to maximum security.
[Train whistle blows]
Max: What are you doing here?
Stephanie: Well, I wouldn't have been able to catch up with you until Marseille if it hadn't been for that long stop to switch engines.
Max: How do you know about that?
Stephanie: I called and got updates, made sure I knew where to go after I landed.
Max: Steph, I specifically told you --
Stephanie: Not to come. I know.
Max: And then you did it anyway. Your dad's gonna kill me.
Stephanie: Don't worry about him.
Max: I promised him that I wasn't gonna get you involved in all this.
Stephanie: I talked to him. He's okay with everything.
Max: [Clears throat]
Stephanie: I swear. Call him.
Max: Steph, I really just wish you hadn't have done this.
Stephanie: Max. [Luggage closes] I can help you. I've been to France a dozen times.
Max: So have I.
Stephanie: Yeah, but I know the language. You're, um, a little shaky.
Stephanie: Where are you going?
Max: I'm going to find out where the next stop is.
Max: Great, 'cause that's where you're getting off.
Max: You're going home, Steph.
Karen: John had absolutely no idea who I was, did he?
E.J.: No. He did not. But you really shouldn't take that personally, you know.
Karen: Oh, of course not. It's -- it's just a shame. He was such a pillar of the community. Every fund-raising event in Salem, John was there with his checkbook.
E.J.: Mm. You're right. A lot of people benefited, I think, from John's generosity.
Karen: Oh, yes.
E.J.: My sense is that those days are not over yet.
Karen: Well, if what I read in the papers is true, John has different priorities these days.
E.J.: Judge Fitzpatrick, I think you'll find that John is going through somewhat of a rough patch. But, uh, I feel that things will turn around.
Karen: Mr. DiMera, I'm sorry. But if you think that I can help clear up his name, you're mistaken.
E.J.: Heavens. Absolutely not. Please, I would never ask you to do anything to compromise your position. Anything.
Karen: Good, because that's not how I work.
E.J.: Quite. [Clears throat] Mr. Black asked me in my capacity as his lawyer to make a small donation to your campaign this year. Actually, I have the check right here.
Karen: [Gasps] I can't accept this.
Sami: Maximum security?
Roman: Sami, calm down.
Sami: It's horrible there.
Lucas: It's prison, Sami. Prison's prison. It can't be much worse. Right, Roman?
Roman: Lucas will be well taken care of. I promise you.
Sami: By serial killers and mass murderers? Come on, Dad. There has to be something that you can do.
Roman: I'm sorry, Sami. It's out of my hands.
Sami: Let's call Mickey Horton. There's got to be something that he can do about this.
Roman: I'm afraid not, Sami. Lucas violated his house arrest on three separate occasions. He's a flight risk.
Sami: Hardly! Dad, he has learned his lesson. Right, Lucas?
Roman: Sami, there's a very good chance he will be transferred back to general population if he exhibits good behavior.
Lucas: That's right. It's not forever.
Sami: How are you so calm about this?
Lucas: I don't have a choice, Sami. I might as well go in with a positive attitude.
Lucas: Look, I'm sorry. Are you all right?
Sami: No. Lucas, I am not all right. How could you do this?!
Ava: Ugh. Marlena rubs me the wrong way.
Nicole: And she's not half as bad as her lovely daughter, Sami.
Ava: Oh, she is pretentious, smug, judgmental, self-righteous.
Nicole: Okay, let's not talk about Marlena, okay? John is obviously interested in you. It's just gonna take a little time. He'll come around.
Ava: Yeah, well, I hope you're having better luck with your man.
Nicole: Not so much.
Ava: Really? Nothing has happened? What? [Laughing] Unh-unh. No, no, you didn't. When?!
Nicole: Fourth of July.
Ava: Fourth of July? You're just telling me now?!
Nicole: I know. It just -- it just sort of happened. We were in the elevator at the Salem Inn.
Ava: I've never done it in an elevator.
Nicole: It was during the blackout, and one thing led to another.
Ava: Oh, maybe John and I need to get stuck in an elevator.
Nicole: It was pretty hot.
Ava: It was?
Nicole: Totally off the charts, yeah.
Ava: What did I tell you? What did I tell you that day you were moping about and complaining about Sami? So, what's the deal? Are you guys exclusive now?
Nicole: Well, we probably would be if I didn't push him away.
Ava: What do you mean?
Nicole: It's a long story.
Ava: Well, honey, I got time, all the time in the world.
Nicole: Ava, I screwed up, and I don't think I can fix it.
Marlena: Now, does this... look familiar?
Dr. Rolf: It --
Marlena: It's the disk -- well, I should say it was the disk that had John's memories. But now it's all broken up. So, I need you to put it back together for me.
Karen: [Sighs] N-no.
E.J.: Please... Judge Fitzpatrick. On behalf of Mr. Black.
Karen: I don't think it's a good idea.
E.J.: You know [Clears throat] I don't know a tremendous amount about campaigns, but I have a funny feeling this could buy a lot of newspaper advertisements, yard signs, and so on.
Karen: Tell Mr. Black I appreciate the gesture, but the last thing I need is to align myself with a man who's been accused of bribery or arson and drug trafficking.
E.J.: For all I hear, though, you're not exactly a shoo-in at the next election, are you? There's a rather hot, young D.A. who plans on taking over your courtroom. One can't quite imagine that he would have the same reservations when it came to accepting a generous campaign contribution. So, please, allow me to...make a suggestion. I'm gonna give you this check. Now, whether you decide to endorse it or whether you decide to deposit it is entirely up to you. Karen. Thank you.
Karen: [Sighs] I should be going.
E.J.: Certainly. And may I say it was my pleasure?
John: You're leaving so soon?
Karen: Uh, yes. I've got to get back to the courtroom. Thank you very much for your campaign contribution.
John: You're welcome, Karen.
E.J.: Please, allow me to see you out.
E.J.: [Clears throat] After you. [Footsteps depart] [Door closes] [ Sighs]
John: I especially enjoyed the part where you told her that I might throw my support behind her rival. It was very nice.
E.J.: How'd you know about that?
John: Closed circuit television.
E.J.: Wow. You've got cameras in here, huh?
John: Well, how else am I to keep tabs on all my guests?
E.J.: It's a little unnerving.
John: You would be amazed at some of the things that have happened in this living room. But we'll just keep that between you and me, okay?
E.J.: Of course.
John: You performed well tonight, Elvis.
E.J.: Thank you. Does that mean you trust me now?
John: No. It just means that you performed well tonight.
Roman: I'll be right outside.
Sami: [Voice breaking] How -- how could you do this to your children? Were the rules of your probation really that hard to follow?
Lucas: I apologized to you. How many times do I have to --
Sami: I don't want your apology! It is Will and Allie who deserve your apology!
Lucas: I talked to Will. I called him this morning, and I told him everything. Well, almost -- almost everything.
Sami: What did he say?
Lucas: He's mad, obviously. He -- he thinks what I did was pretty stupid.
Sami: He's right.
Lucas: I know he's right. I let him down. I let everybody down. Now I have no choice. I have to pay the price, Sami.
Sami: You know who's paying the price? It's your daughter. She is 9 months old, and you have already missed half of her life. You're gonna miss so much.
Lucas: You don't think I think about that? I think about that every single time I look at her.
Sami: She's learning to walk. She's gonna start talking soon. You're gonna miss all of that.
Lucas: I would change things in a second if I could, but I can't! I have no choice! I love my daughter, but there's nothing I can do about it, all right? What, do you think this is easy for me?!
Sami: No, but I wish you'd been thinking about your daughter when you decided to have sex with Chloe! Do you know how much that hurts?
Lucas: Actually, I do. About the same way it hurt me to find out that you had feelings for E.J.
Sami: So, you're hurt. And you decided to break the rules of your house arrest and go have sex with Chloe.
Lucas: I wasn't just hurt. I was frustrated. I didn't know what to do. I was furious at you!
Sami: Then come talk to me! Come talk to me! Why did you have to go to Chloe?!
Stephanie: I'm going to Marseille with you.
Max: We are not arguing about this.
Stephanie: I have just as much right to be angry as you do, okay? You tell me you're not gonna find your sister, and then you leave without saying goodbye.
Max: I-I couldn't tell you what I was doing.
Stephanie: Why, because you knew I'd want to come?
Max: That's exactly why. This is my thing, and I didn't want you or anyone else I love getting dragged into this.
Stephanie: Well, you could have at least told me to my face. Your mom, too. She deserved to hear it from you, not read it in some stupid letter.
Max: How'd she take it?
Stephanie: I'm sure she was kind of hurt. I know I was.
Max: I'm sorry. I did what I thought was best.
Stephanie: Max, what's best is having someone to lean on. I have been there with you through everything -- the confrontations with your dad, when you found out you might have a sister. I was right by your side, and that's where I'm gonna stay. If you won't let me help you, what kind of relationship do we have?
E.J.: You still don't trust me, eh?
John: I don't trust anyone.
E.J.: But you were pleased with how I handled things this evening?
John: Yes. But one good deed does not erase the fact that you shot me and then relieved me of one of my kidneys. You think I didn't research myself online?
E.J.: That was a long time ago, John.
John: Yes. So long ago I can't even remember.
E.J.: I did that for my father. Didn't have a choice. He would have died. If anything, I'd like to think it would show you just how far I'll go to protect my family.
John: Yes. And if I find that you can be as loyal to me as you were to Stefano, perhaps we can do business.
E.J.: You sound like you have something rather specific in mind.
John: Actually, I do. But first, you need to figure out what you're going to do with Samantha.
Sami: How did things get this bad between us?
Lucas: I think it started when I found you in bed with E.J.
Sami: You had every right to be upset about that, but I told you that I wanted us to work it out. I told you that I wanted us to be together.
Lucas: I tried to be noble. I tried to be civilized. But considering my actions lately, maybe I'm not as noble as I thought I was.
Sami: I don't understand. I mean, we have overcome so much. We -- we have to be able to beat this. No manipulations -- just -- just being honest.
Lucas: You know, I-I tried to be supportive to you. I tried to understand that you had feelings for another man. But when that other man is E.J., I'm sorry, Sami. I have to be honest with you. I can't accept that. I'll never be able to accept that. I'm sorry.
Sami: Well, then there's something I can do. I can shut him out of my life for good.
Lucas: But you two share a child together.
Sami: Lucas, we have two children together. We have a life, a history, a friendship, a-a bond.
Lucas: Well, I don't know. Apparently not.
Sami: Okay. All right. I think we should both acknowledge that we have made mistakes.
Lucas: Are you ready to call E.J. a mistake? Are you?
Sami: What about Chloe? Is she a mistake?
Roman: Okay, Lucas. Officer Bennet will take you to the holding area for processing.
Sami: Yeah. Looks like your little love-in-an-elevator routine is gonna cost you more than your freedom.
Lucas: I can't accept that.
Sami: When's he being processed?
Roman: First thing tomorrow.
Sami: So, this is it.
Lucas: No, this is not it. I'm not just whistling in the dark. I will find a way out of here.
Sami: So you can come back to Chloe?
Lucas: I am fighting to come back to Allie. I don't know about anything else.
Roman: Sami, listen to me, okay? Lucas will be just fine. He's been through this before. He knows the drill.
Sami: Dad, he wasn't in maximum security before. There are different people there. I mean, it's like gangs and -- and, you know, all you have to do is look at someone wrong. And people get killed in prison, you know? I'm scared for him.
Roman: I know you are, sweetheart. I know you are.
Sami: Maybe it's selfish, but I'm scared for me, too.
Roman: Of course you are. Look, Lucas is the father of your children. He let you down. You have every right to feel scared and angry and sad and whatever else you want to feel.
Sami: I feel like he's not coming home this time. [Crying] I-I feel like he's not gonna be there to watch Allie learn to ride a bike. He's not gonna be there to grill the boy who takes her to the prom, celebrate when she gets her driver's license. He's gonna miss so much, and she's gonna resent him for that.
Roman: Okay, sweetheart, sweetheart. Now you're getting way ahead of yourself, okay? Let's just take this one day at a time and hope for the best. Okay?
Sami: [Sniffles] Does -- does he get to take anything -- anything with him?
Roman: Yeah, he gets to take a few things. Yeah.
Sami: You know I, um... I just -- I just had these photos made. Um, here's one of Allie, and it's brand-new. He hasn't seen it yet. Um, could you -- could you give it to him for me?
Roman: Absolutely, honey. I will make sure he gets this.
Sami: Thank you. I, um -- I should go get the twins.
Roman: Okay. Listen, um, would you like to have some dinner tonight? My treat.
Sami: That -- that would be nice. Yeah, thanks.
Roman: Okay. How's 8:00 sound?
Roman: Okay, I'll come by and pick you up.
Sami: Thanks, Dad.
E.J.: What exactly does this have to do with Samantha?
John: You are still in love with her.
E.J.: John, we're through.
John: Elvis, stop. This is about trust. I see the way you look at her.
E.J.: Oh, please, come on.
John: And you'd like another roll in the hay with her, wouldn't you?
E.J.: I'm not gonna have this conversation with you.
John: Don't be ashamed. She's a very desirable young woman.
E.J.: John, she wants about as much to do with me as I want to do with her, okay?
John: Yes. She despises you, yet you're unwilling to let her go.
E.J.: What exactly is your point?
John: That court order that you slapped on her. We're both aware of your motivation -- the devious way in which you obtained it.
E.J.: My motivation for doing that was to protect my son. All right? Now, I get to decide what's best for him.
John: No, you decided what was best for E.J., even if it meant taking advantage of my stepdaughter.
E.J.: Your stepdaughter. Oh, she's your stepdaughter now, is she? Well, forgive me. Since when did you start developing all of these caring feelings for Samantha?
John: Let's just say that she's beginning to grow on me.
E.J.: Yeah, right. This has to do with Marlena.
John: Oh, not at all.
E.J.: No, absolutely. Absolutely. You want to score points with Blondie, don't you?
John: No. Blondie and I are through.
E.J.: Of course you are. Samantha and I are through. Look, John. If you want me to admit that I still have feelings for Samantha, a really good place to start would be admitting that you still have feelings for Marlena.
Dr. Rolf: Let's just say, for argument's sake, that this disk did contain his memories. If the old John were to somehow resurface, I would be facing life without parole.
Marlena: No. Not if I get you immunity.
Ava: Don't. Don't -- don't tell me you're giving up on E.J.
Nicole: This would be so much easier if I wasn't so damn attracted to him.
Ava: Okay, well, then you do something about it. You know all that advice you keep giving me about John? You need to take it for yourself.
Nicole: But this situation is a lot more complicated.
Ava: Um, you like him. He likes you. What is so complicated about that?
Nicole: I'm not sure he really does like me, Ava, after the way I treated him.
Ava: Okay, so you apologize, all right? Call him up. We're gonna do that right now.
Nicole: No, we're not.
Ava: Why not?
Nicole: Because it can't happen.
Ava: Okay, sweetie, when was the last time you talked to him?
Nicole: A few hours ago.
Ava: Okay, well, that explains why he was so down in the dumps when I saw him earlier.
Nicole: You saw him?
Ava: Mm-hmm. Over at John's. He said he was upset about a woman, and, obviously, that woman is you.
Nicole: He said that?
Ava: He likes you, Nicole. He really likes you. Come on. Just -- you call him. You call him, invite him for coffee. Take it slow.
Nicole: I wish I could. I really -- I really wish I could, Ava, but there -- there's something you don't know.
Ava: Sweetie, what has got you so upset?
Nicole: Trent Robbins.
Ava: Oh, that guy you told me about from your past?
Nicole: Ava, if I tell you something, you have to promise me you won't tell a soul.
Ava: Oh, honey, you know I won't. What is it?
Ava: Oh, my God.
Nicole: I told you this was huge. And that's why no one can know, okay?
Ava: Oh, you trust me, honey. I'm not gonna say a word.
Nicole: I do trust you, Ava. I-I know we haven't been friends for very long, but I really, really do trust you.
Ava: I'm glad you told me. Are you happy you got it off your chest?
Nicole: Yes, I am. Thank you.
Marlena: Let me ask you something, Rolf. Are you happy in this life, living with John, being at his beck and call, knowing that any moment, he could just fire you and send you back to prison, just like that? Well, I didn't think so. But you can put this back together for me. And that will give you your old life back.
Dr. Rolf: You cannot guarantee that.
Marlena: No, but I can guarantee that I will do all in my power to insure your freedom. Look, if -- if you're worried about somebody finding out, please don't be. I wouldn't say a word. I can be very discreet.
Dr. Rolf: I'm sorry, Marlena. I just can't trust you.
John: Don't worry about me and Marlena. I think you've got enough to deal with.
Sami: Rolf? Rolf?!
John: There she is now.
Sami: Rolf. [Coughing] Have you seen Rolf? I really need to talk to him.
E.J.: He's out. Rolf?
Sami: Yeah. Well, he -- never mind. Hey, um, John, listen. Will you [Coughs] Please let Rolf know that I need to talk to him and that I'm up in my room? Thank you.
E.J.: Hey, Samantha, what happened?
Sami: I, uh, just saw Lucas. He's being sent back to prison.
John: One less mouth to feed.
E.J.: I'm sorry.
Sami: No, you're not. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that you had something to do with this.
E.J.: That I had something to do with this? Right, yeah. The guy broke his house arrest, Samantha, not once but three times. You can't tell me you weren't expecting this.
Sami: I wasn't expecting him to be sent to a maximum-security prison.
E.J.: Maybe now would be a good time for you to start thinking about doing that moving on we talked about.
Sami: With who, you?
E.J.: Me? Don't flatter yourself, sweetheart. You're a mess. Look at you. You're a mess, Samantha. All right? Stop following the men who make poor choices.
Sami: Oh. You're really not in a position to make judgments about other people.
E.J.: Yeah. Kind of funny, really. All Lucas had to do was, well, do nothing, really. Stay put. Follow the rules. I guess running off with Chloe wasn't in the deal.
Sami: Don't you dare imply that he doesn't love his daughter because he does. Allie is the most important thing in the world to him.
E.J.: Okay. He's got a pretty funny way of showing it, though, wouldn't you say?
Sami: He made a mistake.
Sami: You know, I know what it feels like. I certainly made a mistake when I slept with you.
Sami: But luckily, Lucas and I will overcome it, just like we've overcome everything else.
E.J.: Right. 'Cause you're gonna forgive him, okay? Yeah.
Sami: You got that right. I am gonna forgive him. You're the one I will never forgive.
Stephanie: Maybe I should go back to Salem. I can keep my eye out on Trent and let you know what he's up to.
Stephanie: Look, I know you didn't want me to come, and I should have listened. I guess I just thought that once I got here, I'd change your mind. I'm gonna wait in the dining car until the next station.
Max: Stephanie, wait.
Max: Look, I want you to stay, okay? Help me find my sister.
Stephanie: You mean it?
Max: Get over here.
Marlena: Oh, Rolf, w--
Dr. Rolf: Keep your voice down!
Marlena: Whether you help me or not is up to you. But if you don't, I will still find a way to get John's memory back. And when I do, you had better hope you have immunity. Because if you don't, you're gonna spend a very long time behind bars.
E.J.: Awfully sorry about that.
John: Perhaps you should back up on the threats, as a show of good faith. Samantha may appear more receptive.
E.J.: John, I have to keep my leverage. At the moment, that court order is about the only thing that's stopping her from running out the front door with my son.
John: Maybe I'm not making myself clear. I don't like what you're doing to her. She loves those rugrats, and what you're doing is...cruel.
E.J.: Maybe. But it is necessary.
John: Lucky for you, I'm in a good mood because I understand the importance of playing hardball.
E.J.: Does that mean you're agreeing to our collaboration?
John: No. It simply means that I'm not saying no.
E.J.: Good enough for me.
John: Let's get a few things ironed out, though. Number one would be you're not working with me. You're working for me. Do you see the difference?
John: Number two -- you still haven't proved yourself.
E.J.: Oh, I wouldn't worry about that, John. I'm pretty sure I can prove myself to you.
Lucas: So, Sami left?
Roman: Yeah. She, uh -- she asked me to give you this.
Lucas: Oh, look at cute, little Allie. She's so adorable.
Roman: Just remember, Lucas. You're doing this for her.
Lucas: Yeah, I know. I just hope the next time she sees me isn't at my funeral.
Marlena: I think I might have figured out a way to get John's memory back.
Roman: That's good news.
Marlena: It is, and I need your help.
Lucas: You shouldn't be here.
Chloe: I had to come. I needed to tell you how sorry I am.
Kayla: I didn't realize you moved back to your apartment.
Sami: I'm showing it to someone.
Kayla: Is it anybody we know?
